29. 0  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ)
- Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)
29. 1  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الم
- Aliflammeem (Ⅰ)
- ALIF LAM MIM. (Ⅱ)
- Alif. Lam. Mim. (Ⅲ)
- Alif Lam Mim (Ⅳ)
- A.L.M. (Ⅵ)
29. 2  
أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوا أَن يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ
- Ahasiba alnnasu an yutrakoo an yaqooloo amanna wahum la yuftanoona (Ⅰ)
- Do men imagine that they will be left alone because they say, "We believe," and not be tested? (Ⅱ)
- Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction ? (Ⅲ)
- Do the people reckon that they will be left to say ´We believe,´ and will not be tried? (Ⅳ)
- Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? (Ⅵ)
29. 3  
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ
- Walaqad fatanna allatheena min qablihim falayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena sadaqoo walayaAAlamanna alkathibeena (Ⅰ)
- We did try those who were before you, and Allah will surely know those who are sincere, and He will surely know those who feign. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign. (Ⅲ)
- We certainly tried those that were before them, and assuredly God knows those who speak truly, and assuredly He knows the liars. (Ⅳ)
- We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. (Ⅵ)
29. 4  
أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ
- Am hasiba allatheena yaAAmaloona alssayyiati an yasbiqoona saa ma yahkumoona (Ⅰ)
- Do those who do evil reckon that they can outstrip Us? Evil is it that which they judge. (Ⅱ)
- Or do those who do ill-deeds imagine that they can outstrip Us ? Evil (for them) is that which they decide. (Ⅲ)
- Or do they reckon, those who do evil deeds, that they will outstrip Us? Ill they judge! (Ⅳ)
- Do those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment! (Ⅵ)
29. 5  
مَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لَآتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
- Man kana yarjoo liqaa Allahi fainna ajala Allahi laatin wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu (Ⅰ)
- He who looks forward to the meeting with Allah, - verily, the appointed time is surely nigh, and He is the Hearer and Knower. (Ⅱ)
- Whoso looketh forward to the meeting with Allah (let him know that) Allah's reckoning is surely nigh, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. (Ⅲ)
- Whoso looks to encounter God, God´s term is coming; He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. (Ⅳ)
- For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things). (Ⅵ)
29. 6  
وَمَن جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ
- Waman jahada fainnama yujahidu linafsihi inna Allaha laghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- And he who strives, strives only for his own soul; for verily, Allah is altogether Independent of (His) creatures (or the worlds). (Ⅱ)
- And whosoever striveth, striveth only for himself, for lo! Allah is altogether Independent of (His) creatures. (Ⅲ)
- Whosoever struggles, struggles only to his own gain; surely God is All-sufficient nor needs any being. (Ⅳ)
- And if any strive (with might and main), they do so for their own souls: for Allah is free of all needs from all creation. (Ⅵ)
29. 7  
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
- Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanukaffiranna AAanhum sayyiatihim walanajziyannahum ahsana allathee kanoo yaAAmaloona (Ⅰ)
- Those who believe and do right, We will surely blot out all evil from (or in) them; and reward them according to the best of their deeds (or with better than their deeds). (Ⅱ)
- And as for those who believe and do good works, We shall remit from them their evil deeds and shall repay them the best that they did. (Ⅲ)
- And those who believe, and do righteous deeds, We shall surely acquit them of their evil deeds, and shall recompense them the best of what they were doing. (Ⅳ)
- Those who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds. (Ⅵ)
29. 8  
وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا ۖ وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۚ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
- Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi husnan wain jahadaka litushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhuma ilayya marjiAAukum faonabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona (Ⅰ)
- We have enjoined on man kindness to parents; but if they strive to make you join with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return, and I will inform you of that which you did. (Ⅱ)
- We have enjoined on man kindness to parents; but if they strive to make thee join with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what ye used to do. (Ⅲ)
- We have charged man, that he be kind to his parents; but if they strive with thee to make thee associate with Me that whereof thou hast no knowledge, then do not obey them; unto Me you shall return, and I shall tell you what you were doing. (Ⅳ)
- We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did. (Ⅵ)
29. 9  
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِي الصَّالِحِينَ
- Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanudkhilannahum fee alssaliheena (Ⅰ)
- But those who believe and do right, We will surely make them enter amongst the righteous. (Ⅱ)
- And as for those who believe and do good works, We verily shall make them enter in among the righteous. (Ⅲ)
- And those who believe, and do righteous deeds assuredly We shall admit them among the righteous. (Ⅳ)
- And those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous. (Ⅵ)
29. 10  
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ فَإِذَا أُوذِيَ فِي اللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَاءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ الْعَالَمِينَ
- Wamina alnnasi man yaqoolu amanna biAllahi faitha oothiya fee Allahi jaAAala fitnata alnnasi kaAAathabi Allahi walain jaa nasrun min rabbika layaqoolunna inna kunna maAAakum awalaysa Allahu biaAAlama bima fee sudoori alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- And there are those among men who say, "We believe in Allah!" but when they suffer for the sake of Allah, they mistake the persecution of men for the punishment of Allah; but if help come from your Lord they will say, "Verily, we were with you!" Is not Allah best aware of what is in the breasts of His creatures? (Ⅱ)
- Of mankind is he who saith: We believe in Allah, but, if he be made to suffer for the sake of Allah, he mistaketh the persecution of mankind for Allah's punishment; and then, if victory cometh from thy Lord, will say: Lo! we were with you (all the while). Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the bosoms of (His) creatures ? (Ⅲ)
- Some men there are who say, ´We believe in God,´ but when such a man is hurt in God´s cause, he makes the persecution of men as it were God´s chastisement; then if help comes from thy Lord, he will say ´We were with you.´ What, does not God know very well what is in the breasts of all beings? (Ⅳ)
- Then there are among men such as say, "We believe in Allah"; but when they suffer affliction in (the cause of) Allah, they treat men´s oppression as if it were the Wrath of Allah! And if help comes (to thee) from thy Lord, they are sure to say, "We have (always) been with you!" Does not Allah know best all that is in the hearts of all creation? (Ⅵ)
29. 11  
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ
- WalayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena amanoo walayaAAlamanna almunafiqeena (Ⅰ)
- Allah surely knows those who believe, and surely knows the hypocrites. (Ⅱ)
- Verily Allah knoweth those who believe, and verily He knoweth the hypocrites. (Ⅲ)
- God surely knows the believers, and He knows the hypocrites. (Ⅳ)
- And Allah most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites. (Ⅵ)
29. 12  
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّبِعُوا سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَايَاكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَامِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ
- Waqala allatheena kafaroo lillatheena amanoo ittabiAAoo sabeelana walnahmil khatayakum wama hum bihamileena min khatayahum min shayin innahum lakathiboona (Ⅰ)
- And those who disbelieved said to those who believed, "Follow our way (religion), we will bear your sins. But they cannot bear aught of their sins; verily, they are liars! (Ⅱ)
- Those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Follow our way (of religion) and we verily will bear your sins (for you). They cannot bear aught of their sins. Lo! they verily are liars. (Ⅲ)
- The unbelievers say to the believers, ´Follow our path, and let us carry your offences´; yet they cannot carry anything, even of their own offences; they are truly liars. (Ⅳ)
- And the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Follow our path, and we will bear (the consequences) of your faults." Never in the least will they bear their faults: in fact they are liars! (Ⅵ)
29. 13  
وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًا مَّعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖ وَلَيُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
- Walayahmilunna athqalahum waathqalan maAAa athqalihim walayusalunna yawma alqiyamati AAamma kanoo yaftaroona (Ⅰ)
- But they shall surely bear their own burdens, and other burdens besides their own; and they shall surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning what they devised. (Ⅱ)
- But they verily will bear their own loads and other loads beside their own, and they verily will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they invented. (Ⅲ)
- They shall certainly carry their loads, and other loads along with their loads, and upon the Day of Resurrection they shall surely be questioned concerning that they were forging. (Ⅳ)
- They will bear their own burdens, and (other) burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Judgments they will be called to account for their falsehoods. (Ⅵ)
29. 14  
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ
- Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi falabitha feehim alfa sanatin illa khamseena AAaman faakhathahumu alttoofanu wahum thalimoona (Ⅰ)
- And We sent Noah to his people, and he dwelt among them for a thousand save fifty years; and the deluge engulfed them while they persisted in evil-doing. (Ⅱ)
- And verily we sent Noah (as Our messenger) unto his folk, and he continued with them for a thousand years save fifty years; and the flood engulfed them, for they were wrong-doers. (Ⅲ)
- Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years, all but fifty; so the Flood seized them, while they were evildoers. (Ⅳ)
- We (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the Deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin. (Ⅵ)
29. 15  
فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَصْحَابَ السَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا آيَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
- Faanjaynahu waashaba alssafeenati wajaAAalnaha ayatan lilAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- But We saved him and the company of the ark, and made it a sign unto the worlds (all peoples or creatures). (Ⅱ)
- And We rescued him and those with him in the ship, and made of it a portent for the peoples. (Ⅲ)
- Yet We delivered him, and those who were in the ship, and appointed it for a sign unto all beings. (Ⅳ)
- But We saved him and the companions of the Ark, and We made the (Ark) a Sign for all peoples! (Ⅵ)
29. 16  
وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ ۖ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
- Waibraheema ith qala liqawmihi oAAbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- And Abraham, when he said to his people, "Serve Allah and fear Him, that is better for you if you did but know. (Ⅱ)
- And Abraham! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Serve Allah, and keep your duty unto Him; that is better for you if ye did but know. (Ⅲ)
- And Abraham, when he said to his people, ´Serve God, and fear Him; that is better for you, did you know. (Ⅳ)
- And (We also saved) Abraham: behold, he said to his people, "Serve Allah and fear Him: that will be best for you- If ye understand! (Ⅵ)
29. 17  
إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا فَابْتَغُوا عِندَ اللَّهِ الرِّزْقَ وَاعْبُدُوهُ وَاشْكُرُوا لَهُ ۖ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
- Innama taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi awthanan watakhluqoona ifkan inna allatheena taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi la yamlikoona lakum rizqan faibtaghoo AAinda Allahi alrrizqa waoAAbudoohu waoshkuroo lahu ilayhi turjaAAoona (Ⅰ)
- "You serve instead of Allah only idols and you only invent a lie; verily, those whom you serve beside Allah own (control) no provision for you. So seek your provision from Allah, and serve Him, and give thanks to Him; unto Him shall you return. (Ⅱ)
- Ye serve instead of Allah only idols, and ye only invent a lie. Lo! those whom ye serve instead of Allah own no provision for you. So seek your provision from Allah, and serve Him, and give thanks unto Him, (for) unto Him ye will be brought back. (Ⅲ)
- You only serve, apart from God, idols and you create a calumny; those you serve, apart from God, have no power to provide for you. So seek after your provision with God, and serve Him, and be thankful to Him; unto Him you shall be returned. (Ⅳ)
- "For ye do worship idols besides Allah, and ye invent falsehood. The things that ye worship besides Allah have no power to give you sustenance: then seek ye sustenance from Allah, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return. (Ⅵ)
29. 18  
وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ
- Wain tukaththiboo faqad kaththaba omamun min qablikum wama AAala alrrasooli illa albalaghu almubeenu (Ⅰ)
- But if you deny this, then know that nations before you have denied it. The messenger has only to convey the message plainly." (Ⅱ)
- But if ye deny, then nations have denied before you. The messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly. (Ⅲ)
- ´But if you cry me lies, nations cried lies before you; and it is only for the Messenger to deliver the Manifest Message.´ (Ⅳ)
- "And if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the messenger is only to preach publicly (and clearly)." (Ⅵ)
29. 19  
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ
- Awalam yaraw kayfa yubdio Allahu alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun (Ⅰ)
- See they not how Allah produces creation, and then reproduces it? Verily, for Allah it is easy. (Ⅱ)
- See they not how Allah produceth creation, then reproduceth it ? Lo! for Allah that is easy. (Ⅲ)
- (Have they not seen how God originates creation, then brings it back again? Surely that is an easy matter for God. (Ⅳ)
- See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for Allah. (Ⅵ)
29. 20  
قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ بَدَأَ الْخَلْقَ ۚ ثُمَّ اللَّهُ يُنشِئُ النَّشْأَةَ الْآخِرَةَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
- Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa badaa alkhalqa thumma Allahu yunshio alnnashata alakhirata inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun (Ⅰ)
- Say, "Travel you in the earth, and behold how Allah originated creation; so will He produce a later creation. Verily, Allah has power over all things." (Ⅱ)
- Say (O Muhammad): Travel in the land and see how He originated creation, then Allah bringeth forth the later growth. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things. (Ⅲ)
- Say: Journey in the land, then behold how He originated creation; then God causes the second growth to grow; God is powerful over everything, (Ⅳ)
- Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things. (Ⅵ)
29. 21  
يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَن يَشَاءُ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ
- YuAAaththibu man yashao wayarhamu man yashao wailayhi tuqlaboona (Ⅰ)
- "He punishes whom He will, and bestows mercy on whom He will; and towards Him are you turned. (Ⅱ)
- He punisheth whom He will and showeth mercy unto whom He will, and unto Him ye will be turned. (Ⅲ)
- chastising whom He will, and having mercy on whomsoever He will, and unto Him you shall be turned. (Ⅳ)
- "He punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned. (Ⅵ)
29. 22  
وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
- Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee alardi wala fee alssamai wama lakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin (Ⅰ)
- "You cannot make Him powerless (escape Him) in the earth, nor in the heavens; nor have you beside Allah a friend or a helper. (Ⅱ)
- Ye cannot escape (from Him) in the earth or in the sky, and beside Allah there is for you no friend or helper. (Ⅲ)
- You are not able to frustrate Him either in the earth or in heaven; and you have not, apart from God, either protector or helper. (Ⅳ)
- "Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have ye, besides Allah, any protector or helper." (Ⅵ)
29. 23  
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَلِقَائِهِ أُولَٰئِكَ يَئِسُوا مِن رَّحْمَتِي وَأُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
- Waallatheena kafaroo biayati Allahi waliqaihi olaika yaisoo min rahmatee waolaika lahum AAathabun aleemun (Ⅰ)
- "And those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and in their meeting with Him, these shall despair of My mercy; and for these is grievous woe." (Ⅱ)
- Those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and in (their) Meeting with Him, such have no hope of My mercy. For such there is a painful doom. (Ⅲ)
- And those who disbelieve in God´s signs and the encounter with Him -- they despair of My mercy, and there awaits them a painful chastisement.) (Ⅳ)
- Those who reject the Signs of Allah and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter),- it is they who shall despair of My Mercy: it is they who will (suffer) a most grievous Penalty. (Ⅵ)
29. 24  
فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا اقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَاهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
- Fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo oqtuloohu aw harriqoohu faanjahu Allahu mina alnnari inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona (Ⅰ)
- But the answer of his people was only to say, "Kill him" or "Burn him!" But Allah saved him from the fire; verily, in that are signs unto a people who have faith. (Ⅱ)
- But the answer of his folk was only that they said: "Kill him" or "Burn him." Then Allah saved him from the Fire. Lo! herein verily are portents for folk who believe. (Ⅲ)
- But the only answer of his people was that they said, ´Slay him, or burn him!´ Then God delivered him from the fire; surely in that are signs for a people who believe. (Ⅳ)
- So naught was the answer of (Abraham´s) people except that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe. (Ⅵ)
29. 25  
وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا اتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ
- Waqala innama ittakhathtum min dooni Allahi awthanan mawaddata baynikum fee alhayati alddunya thumma yawma alqiyamati yakfuru baAAdukum bibaAAdin wayalAAanu baAAdukum baAAdan wamawakumu alnnaru wama lakum min nasireena (Ⅰ)
- He said, "Verily, you take beside Allah idols, through mutual friendship in the life of this world; but on the Day of Judgment you shall deny each other, and shall curse each other, and your resort shall be the fire, and you shall have none to help." (Ⅱ)
- He said: Ye have chosen only idols instead of Allah. The love between you is only in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection ye will deny each other and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and ye will have no helpers. (Ⅲ)
- And he said, ´You have only taken to yourselves idols, apart from God, as a mark of mutual love between you in the present life; then upon the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another, and you will curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will have no helpers.´ (Ⅳ)
- And he said: "For you, ye have taken (for worship) idols besides Allah, out of mutual love and regard between yourselves in this life; but on the Day of Judgment ye shall disown each other and curse each other: and your abode will be the Fire, and ye shall have none to help." (Ⅵ)
29. 26  
۞ فَآمَنَ لَهُ لُوطٌ ۘ وَقَالَ إِنِّي مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّي ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
- Faamana lahu lootun waqala innee muhajirun ila rabbee innahu huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu (Ⅰ)
- And Lot believed him and said, "Verily, I flee unto (or for the sake of) my Lord! Verily, He, only He, is the Mighty, the Wise." (Ⅱ)
- And Lot believed him, and said: Lo! I am a fugitive unto my Lord. Lo! He, only He, is the Mighty, the Wise. (Ⅲ)
- But Lot believed him; and he said, ´I will flee to my Lord; He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.´ (Ⅳ)
- But Lut had faith in Him: He said: "I will leave home for the sake of my Lord: for He is Exalted in Might, and Wise." (Ⅵ)
29. 27  
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِ النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتَابَ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَجْرَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
- Wawahabna lahu ishaqa wayaAAqooba wajaAAalna fee thurriyyatihi alnnubuwwata waalkitaba waataynahu ajrahu fee alddunya wainnahu fee alakhirati lamina alssaliheena (Ⅰ)
- And We granted Abraham Isaac and Jacob; and We placed in his seed the Prophethood and the Scriptures; and We gave him his reward in this world; and, verily, in the Hereafter he shall be among the righteous." (Ⅱ)
- And We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and We established the prophethood and the Scripture among his seed, and We gave him his reward in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he verily is among the righteous. (Ⅲ)
- And We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and We appointed the Prophecy and the Book to be among his seed; We gave him his wage in this world, and in the world to come he shall be among the righteous. (Ⅳ)
- And We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation, and We granted him his reward in this life; and he was in the Hereafter (of the company) of the Righteous. (Ⅵ)
29. 28  
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ
- Walootan ith qala liqawmihi innakum latatoona alfahishata ma sabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- And Lot! (Remember) When he said to his people, "Verily, you commit an abomination such as no creature did before you. (Ⅱ)
- And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Lo! ye commit lewdness such as no creature did before you. (Ⅲ)
- And Lot, when he said to his people ´Surely you commit such indecency as never any being in all the world committed before you. (Ⅳ)
- And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you. (Ⅵ)
29. 29  
أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ السَّبِيلَ وَتَأْتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمُ الْمُنكَرَ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
- Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala wataqtaAAoona alssabeela watatoona fee nadeekumu almunkara fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo itina biAAathabi Allahi in kunta mina alssadiqeena (Ⅰ)
- "Do you approach men? And cut off the highway? And practice wickedness in your assemblies?" But his people gave no answer but this, "Bring us the Wrath of Allah, if you speak the truth." (Ⅱ)
- For come ye not in unto males, and cut ye not the road (for travellers), and commit ye not abomination in your meetings ? But the answer of his folk was only that they said: Bring Allah's doom upon us if thou art a truthteller! (Ⅲ)
- What, do you approach men, and cut the way, and commit in your assembly dishonour?´ But the only answer of his people was that they said, ´Then bring us the chastisement of God, if thou speakest truly.´ (Ⅳ)
- "Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of Allah if thou tellest the truth." (Ⅵ)
29. 30  
قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
- Qala rabbi onsurnee AAala alqawmi almufsideena (Ⅰ)
- Said he, "My Lord! Help me against a people who do evil!" (Ⅱ)
- He said: My Lord! Give me victory over folk who work corruption. (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´My Lord, help me against the people that work corruption.´ (Ⅳ)
- He said: "O my Lord! help Thou me against people who do mischief!" (Ⅵ)
29. 31  
وَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ بِالْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوا إِنَّا مُهْلِكُو أَهْلِ هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ ۖ إِنَّ أَهْلَهَا كَانُوا ظَالِمِينَ
- Walamma jaat rusuluna ibraheema bialbushra qaloo inna muhlikoo ahli hathihi alqaryati inna ahlaha kanoo thalimeena (Ⅰ)
- And when Our messengers came to Abraham with the glad tidings, they said, "We are about to destroy the people of these cities. Verily, the people thereof are evil-doers." (Ⅱ)
- And when Our messengers brought Abraham the good news, they said: Lo! we are about to destroy the people of that township, for its people are wrong-doers. (Ⅲ)
- And when Our messengers came to Abraham with the good tidings, they said, ´We shall destroy the people of this city, for its people are evildoers.´ (Ⅳ)
- When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime." (Ⅵ)
29. 32  
قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطًا ۚ قَالُوا نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِيهَا ۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
- Qala inna feeha lootan qaloo nahnu aAAlamu biman feeha lanunajjiyannahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat mina alghabireena (Ⅰ)
- Said he, "Verily, in it is Lot." They said, "We are best aware of who is therein; we shall of a surety save him and his people, except his wife, who is of those who lag behind." (Ⅱ)
- He said: Lo! Lot is there. They said: We are best aware of who is there. We are to deliver him and his household, all save his wife, who is of those who stay behind. (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´Lot is in it.´ They said, ´We know very well who is in it; assuredly We shall deliver him and his family, except his wife; she has become of those that tarry.´ (Ⅳ)
- He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there : we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!" (Ⅵ)
29. 33  
وَلَمَّا أَن جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ ۖ إِنَّا مُنَجُّوكَ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَكَ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
- Walamma an jaat rusuluna lootan seea bihim wadaqa bihim tharAAan waqaloo la takhaf wala tahzan inna munajjooka waahlaka illa imraataka kanat mina alghabireena (Ⅰ)
- And when Our messengers came to Lot, he was troubled on account of them, and felt powerless to protect them. But they said, "Fear not, neither grieve; we are about to save you and your people, except your wife, who is of those who lag behind. (Ⅱ)
- And when Our messengers came unto Lot, he was troubled upon their account, for he could not protect them; but they said: Fear not, nor grieve! Lo! we are to deliver thee and thy household, (all) save thy wife, who is of those who stay behind. (Ⅲ)
- When that Our messengers came to Lot he was troubled on their account and distressed for them; but they said, ´Fear not, neither sorrow, for surely we shall deliver thee and thy family, except thy wife; she has become of those that tarry. (Ⅳ)
- And when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save thee and thy following, except thy wife: she is of those who lag behind. (Ⅵ)
29. 34  
إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ
- Inna munziloona AAala ahli hathihi alqaryati rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yafsuqoona (Ⅰ)
- "Verily, we are about to send down upon the people of this city a horror from heaven, for that they are evil-livers." (Ⅱ)
- Lo! We are about to bring down upon the folk of this township a fury from the sky because they are evil-livers. (Ⅲ)
- We shall send down upon the people of this city wrath out of heaven for their ungodliness.´ (Ⅳ)
- "For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious." (Ⅵ)
29. 35  
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَا مِنْهَا آيَةً بَيِّنَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
- Walaqad tarakna minha ayatan bayyinatan liqawmin yaAAqiloona (Ⅰ)
- And, verily, of that We have left a manifest sign unto a people who have sense. (Ⅱ)
- And verily of that We have left a clear sign for people who have sense. (Ⅲ)
- And indeed, We have left thereof a sign, a clear sign? unto a people who understand. (Ⅳ)
- And We have left thereof an evident Sign, for any people who (care to) understand. (Ⅵ)
29. 36  
وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَارْجُوا الْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
- Waila madyana akhahum shuAAayban faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha waorjoo alyawma alakhira wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena (Ⅰ)
- And unto Midian We sent their brother Shu´eyb, and he said, "My people, serve Allah, and fear the Last Day; and do not evil, making mischief in the land, (despoiling it)." (Ⅱ)
- And unto Midian We sent Shu'eyb, their brother. He said: O my people! Serve Allah, and look forward to the Last Day, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. (Ⅲ)
- And to Midian their brother Shuaib; he said, ´O my people, serve God, and look you for the Last Day; and do not mischief in the land, working corruption.´ (Ⅳ)
- To the Madyan (people) (We sent) their brother Shu´aib. Then he said: "O my people! serve Allah, and fear the Last Day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief." (Ⅵ)
29. 37  
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
- Fakaththaboohu faakhathathumu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena (Ⅰ)
- But they denied him; and the convulsion seized them, and on the morrow they lay prostrate in their dwellings. (Ⅱ)
- But they denied him, and the dreadful earthquake took them, and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling place. (Ⅲ)
- But they cried lies to him; so the earthquake seized them, and morning found them in their habitation fallen prostrate. (Ⅳ)
- But they rejected him: Then the mighty Blast seized them, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning. (Ⅵ)
29. 38  
وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَاكِنِهِمْ ۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ
- WaAAadan wathamooda waqad tabayyana lakum min masakinihim wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli wakanoo mustabsireena (Ⅰ)
- And A´ad and Thamud! But their fate is plain to you from their ruined habitations. Satan made their deeds fair seeming unto them, and turned them from the Way, gifted with intelligence and skill though they were. (Ⅱ)
- And (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud! (Their fate) is manifest unto you from their (ruined and deserted) dwellings. Satan made their deeds seem fair unto them and so debarred them from the Way, though they were keen observers. (Ⅲ)
- And Ad, and Thamood -- it has become clear to you from their dwelling-places; and Satan decked out fair to them their works, and barred them from the way, though they saw clearly. (Ⅳ)
- (Remember also) the ´Ad and the Thamud (people): clearly will appear to you from (the traces) of their buildings (their fate): the Evil One made their deeds alluring to them, and kept them back from the Path, though they were gifted with intelligence and skill. (Ⅵ)
29. 39  
وَقَارُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا سَابِقِينَ
- Waqaroona wafirAAawna wahamana walaqad jaahum moosa bialbayyinati faistakbaroo fee alardi wama kanoo sabiqeena (Ⅰ)
- And Korah, Pharaoh and Haman! Moses did come to them with clear signs, but they were inflated with pride in the earth. Yet they could not outstrip Us! (Ⅱ)
- And Korah, Pharaoh and Haman! Moses came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they were boastful in the land. And they were not winners (in the race). (Ⅲ)
- And Korah, and Pharaoh, and Haman; Moses came to them with the clear signs, but they waxed proud in the earth, yet they outstripped Us not. (Ⅳ)
- (Remember also) Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came to them Moses with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us). (Ⅵ)
29. 40  
فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنبِهِ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ الصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
- Fakullan akhathna bithanbihi faminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum man akhathathu alssayhatu waminhum man khasafna bihi alarda waminhum man aghraqna wama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona (Ⅰ)
- And each of them We seized in his sin; and of them were some against whom We sent a sandstorm; and some were caught by a mighty Blast; and some We caused the earth to swallow; and some We drowned. It was not Allah who injured (or oppressed, wronged) them, but it was themselves (or their own souls) they injured (oppressed, wronged). (Ⅱ)
- So We took each one in his sin; of them was he on whom We sent a hurricane, and of them was he who was overtaken by the (Awful) Cry, and of them was he whom We caused the earth to swallow, and of them was he whom We drowned. It was not for Allah to wrong them, but they wronged themselves. (Ⅲ)
- Each We seized for his sin; and of them against some We loosed a squall of pebbles and some were seized by the Cry, and some We made the earth to swallow, and some We drowned; God would never wrong them, but they wronged themselves. (Ⅳ)
- Each one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): It was not Allah Who injured (or oppressed) them:" They injured (and oppressed) their own souls. (Ⅵ)
29. 41  
مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنكَبُوتِ اتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا ۖ وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
- Mathalu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa kamathali alAAankabooti ittakhathat baytan wainna awhana albuyooti labaytu alAAankabooti law kanoo yaAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- The similitude of those who choose other patrons than Allah, is as the likeness of a spider, that takes to himself a house; and, lo! The frailest of all houses is the spider´s house, if they but knew! (Ⅱ)
- The likeness of those who choose other patrons than Allah is as the likeness of the spider when she taketh unto herself a house, and lo! the frailest of all houses is the spider's house, if they but knew. (Ⅲ)
- The likeness of those who have taken to them protectors, apart from God, is as the likeness of the spider that takes to itself a house; and surely the frailest of houses is the house of the spider, did they but know. (Ⅳ)
- The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider´s house;- if they but knew. (Ⅵ)
29. 42  
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
- Inna Allaha yaAAlamu ma yadAAoona min doonihi min shayin wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu (Ⅰ)
- Verily, Allah knows whatever thing they call upon beside Him; for He is the Mighty, the Wise. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! Allah knoweth what thing they invoke instead of Him. He is the Mighty, the Wise. (Ⅲ)
- God knows whatever thing they call upon apart from Him; He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. (Ⅳ)
- Verily Allah doth know of (every thing) whatever that they call upon besides Him: and He is Exalted (in power), Wise. (Ⅵ)
29. 43  
وَتِلْكَ الْأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَا إِلَّا الْعَالِمُونَ
- Watilka alamthalu nadribuha lilnnasi wama yaAAqiluha illa alAAalimoona (Ⅰ)
- As for these similitudes (parables), We have coined for mankind, but none will understand them, save the wise. (Ⅱ)
- As for these similitudes, We coin them for mankind, but none will grasp their meaning save the wise. (Ⅲ)
- And those similitudes -- We strike them for the people, but none understands them save those who know. (Ⅳ)
- And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge. (Ⅵ)
29. 44  
خَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- Khalaqa Allahu alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena (Ⅰ)
- Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth. Verily, in this is a sign for those have faith. (Ⅱ)
- Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth. Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. (Ⅲ)
- God created the heavens and the earth with the truth; surely in that is a sign to the believers. (Ⅳ)
- Allah created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): verily in that is a Sign for those who believe. (Ⅵ)
29. 45  
اتْلُ مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ ۖ إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ
- Otlu ma oohiya ilayka mina alkitabi waaqimi alssalata inna alssalata tanha AAani alfahshai waalmunkari walathikru Allahi akbaru waAllahu yaAAlamu ma tasnaAAoona (Ⅰ)
- Recite what has been inspired in you of the Book; and establish worship. Verily, worship preserves from shameful deeds and iniquity, but surely the remembrance (or mention) of Allah is more important; and Allah knows what you do. (Ⅱ)
- Recite that which hath been inspired in thee of the Scripture, and establish worship. Lo! worship preserveth from lewdness and iniquity, but verily remembrance of Allah is more important. And Allah knoweth what ye do. (Ⅲ)
- Recite what has been revealed to thee of the Book, and perform the prayer; prayer forbids indecency and dishonour. God´s remembrance is greater; and God knows the things you work. (Ⅳ)
- Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do. (Ⅵ)
29. 46  
۞ وَلَا تُجَادِلُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِالَّذِي أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَأُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُنَا وَإِلَٰهُكُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ
- Wala tujadiloo ahla alkitabi illa biallatee hiya ahsanu illa allatheena thalamoo minhum waqooloo amanna biallathee onzila ilayna waonzila ilaykum wailahuna wailahukum wahidun wanahnu lahu muslimoona (Ⅰ)
- And argue not with the people of the Book, unless with better means; except with those who have done wrong amongst them and say, "We believe in what is sent down to us, and what has been sent down to you; our God and your God is One, and unto Him we Surrender (as Muslims)." (Ⅱ)
- And argue not with the People of the Scripture unless it be in (a way) that is better, save with such of them as do wrong; and say: We believe in that which hath been revealed unto us and revealed unto you; our God and your God is One, and unto Him we surrender. (Ⅲ)
- Dispute not with the People of the Book save in the fairer manner, except for those of them that do wrong; and say, ´We believe in what has been sent down to us, and what has been sent down to you; our God and your God is One, and to Him we have surrendered.´ (Ⅳ)
- And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)." (Ⅵ)
29. 47  
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ ۖ وَمِنْ هَٰؤُلَاءِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الْكَافِرُونَ
- Wakathalika anzalna ilayka alkitaba faallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yuminoona bihi wamin haolai man yuminu bihi wama yajhadu biayatina illa alkafiroona (Ⅰ)
- Thus did We send down to you the Book; and those unto whom We gave the Book (Scriptures) before will believe therein, and of these (Pagan Arabs) also there are some who believe therein. None reject Our revelations save disbelievers. (Ⅱ)
- In like manner We have revealed unto thee the Scripture, and those unto whom We gave the Scripture aforetime will believe therein; and of these (also) there are some who believe therein. And none deny Our revelations save the disbelievers. (Ⅲ)
- Even so We have sent down to thee the Book. Those to whom We have given the Book believe in it; and some of these believe in it; and none denies Our signs but the unbelievers. (Ⅳ)
- And thus (it is) that We have sent down the Book to thee. So the People of the Book believe therein, as also do some of these (pagan Arabs): and none but Unbelievers reject our signs. (Ⅵ)
29. 48  
وَمَا كُنتَ تَتْلُو مِن قَبْلِهِ مِن كِتَابٍ وَلَا تَخُطُّهُ بِيَمِينِكَ ۖ إِذًا لَّارْتَابَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ
- Wama kunta tatloo min qablihi min kitabin wala takhuttuhu biyameenika ithan lairtaba almubtiloona (Ⅰ)
- You (Muhammad) could not recite before this any Book (or Scripture), nor write it with your right hand, for then, indeed, might those who deal (or talk) in vanities (trivialities, falsehoods, irrelevancies) have doubted. (Ⅱ)
- And thou (O Muhammad) wast not a reader of any scripture before it, nor didst thou write it with thy right hand, for then might those have doubted, who follow falsehood. (Ⅲ)
- Not before this didst thou recite any Book, or inscribe it with thy right hand, for then those who follow falsehood would have doubted. (Ⅳ)
- And thou wast not (able) to recite a Book before this (Book came), nor art thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted. (Ⅵ)
29. 49  
بَلْ هُوَ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ فِي صُدُورِ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الظَّالِمُونَ
- Bal huwa ayatun bayyinatun fee sudoori allatheena ootoo alAAilma wama yajhadu biayatina illa alththalimoona (Ⅰ)
- Nay, but it is a clear revelation in the heart of those who are endowed with knowledge, and none deny Our revelations save the wrongdoers (or unjust). (Ⅱ)
- But it is clear revelations in the hearts of those who have been given knowledge, and none deny Our revelations save wrong-doers. (Ⅲ)
- Nay; rather it is signs, clear signs in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge; and none denies Our signs but the evildoers. (Ⅳ)
- Nay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge: and none but the unjust reject Our Signs. (Ⅵ)
