بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ) - In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ) - Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ) - Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ
- Waalssamai thati alburooji (Ⅰ) - By the heaven with its zodiacal signs! (Ⅱ) - By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, (Ⅲ) - By heaven of the constellations, (Ⅳ) - By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; (Ⅵ)

وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ
- Waalyawmi almawAAoodi (Ⅰ) - And by the Promised Day! (Ⅱ) - And by the Promised Day. (Ⅲ) - by the promised day, (Ⅳ) - By the promised Day (of Judgment); (Ⅵ)

وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
- Washahidin wamashhoodin (Ⅰ) - And by the witnesses and the witnessed! (Ⅱ) - And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, (Ⅲ) - by the witness and the witnessed, (Ⅳ) - By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- (Ⅵ)

قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الْأُخْدُودِ
- Qutila ashabu alukhdoodi (Ⅰ) - Self-destroyed were the owners of the pit; (Ⅱ) - (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch (Ⅲ) - slain were the Men of the Pit, (Ⅳ) - Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), (Ⅵ)

النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ
- Alnnari thati alwaqoodi (Ⅰ) - The fire of which was supplied with abundant fuel, (Ⅱ) - Of the fuel-fed fire, (Ⅲ) - the fire abounding in fuel, (Ⅳ) - Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: (Ⅵ)

إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
- Ith hum AAalayha quAAoodun (Ⅰ) - Behold, they sat over it, (Ⅱ) - When they sat by it, (Ⅲ) - when they were seated over it (Ⅳ) - Behold! they sat over against the (fire), (Ⅵ)

85.

وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
- Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bialmumineena shuhoodun (Ⅰ) - And they witnessed all they were doing against the believers. (Ⅱ) - And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. (Ⅲ) - and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. (Ⅳ) - And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. (Ⅵ)

وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَن يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
- Wama naqamoo minhum illa an yuminoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameedi (Ⅰ) - And they mistreated them only for their belief in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy, (Ⅱ) - They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, (Ⅲ) - They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, (Ⅳ) - And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- (Ⅵ)

85.

الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
- Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin shaheedun (Ⅰ) - Whose are the kingdoms of the heavens and the earth; for Allah is Witness over all! (Ⅱ) - Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. (Ⅲ) - God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. (Ⅳ) - Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. (Ⅵ)

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ
- Inna allatheena fatanoo almumineena waalmuminati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi (Ⅰ) - Verily, those who persecute (or mislead or tempt) the believers, men and women, and then do not repent, for them is the penalty of Hell: they will have the torment of the burning Fire! (Ⅱ) - Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. (Ⅲ) - Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. (Ⅳ) - Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. (Ⅵ)

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ
- Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeru (Ⅰ) - Verily, those who believe and do right, for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow: that is the great bliss! (Ⅱ) - Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. (Ⅲ) - Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. (Ⅳ) - For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), (Ⅵ)

إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
- Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedun (Ⅰ) - Verily, strong is the power of your Lord! (Ⅱ) - Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. (Ⅲ) - Surely thy Lord´s assault is terrible. (Ⅳ) - Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. (Ⅵ)

إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
- Innahu huwa yubdio wayuAAeedu (Ⅰ) - Verily, it is He who creates and restores, (Ⅱ) - Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, (Ⅲ) - Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, (Ⅳ) - It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). (Ⅵ)

وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
- Wahuwa alghafooru alwadoodu (Ⅰ) - And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, (Ⅱ) - And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, (Ⅲ) - and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, (Ⅳ) - And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, (Ⅵ)

ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ
- Thoo alAAarshi almajeedi (Ⅰ) - The Lord of the Glorious Throne; (Ⅱ) - Lord of the Throne of Glory, (Ⅲ) - Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, (Ⅳ) - Lord of the Throne of Glory, (Ⅵ)

|
85.
16
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
- FaAAAAalun lima yureedu (Ⅰ) - The Doer of what He will! (Ⅱ) - Doer of what He will. (Ⅲ) - Performer of what He desires. (Ⅳ) - Doer (without let) of all that He intends. (Ⅵ)

هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ
- Hal ataka hadeethu aljunoodi (Ⅰ) - Has there come to you the story of the Hosts (Ⅱ) - Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts (Ⅲ) - Hast thou received the story of the hosts, (Ⅳ) - Has the story reached thee, of the forces- (Ⅵ)

فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
- FirAAawna wathamooda (Ⅰ) - Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? (Ⅱ) - Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud ? (Ⅲ) - Pharaoh and Thamood? (Ⅳ) - Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? (Ⅵ)

بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ
- Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebin (Ⅰ) - Yet the unbelievers persist in rejecting (the truth); (Ⅱ) - Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial (Ⅲ) - Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, (Ⅳ) - And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! (Ⅵ)

85.
20
وَاللَّهُ مِن وَرَائِهِم مُّحِيطٌ
- WaAllahu min waraihim muheetun (Ⅰ) - But Allah is behind them - encompassing! (Ⅱ) - And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. (Ⅲ) - and God is behind them, encompassing. (Ⅳ) - But Allah doth encompass them from behind! (Ⅵ)

بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَّجِيدٌ
- Bal huwa quranun majeedun (Ⅰ) - Nay, this is a glorious Quran, (Ⅱ) - Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. (Ⅲ) - Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, (Ⅳ) - Day, this is a Glorious Qur´an, (Ⅵ)

فِي لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍ
- Fee lawhin mahfoothin (Ⅰ) - (Inscribed) in a Preserved Tablet. (Ⅱ) - On a guarded tablet. (Ⅲ) - in a guarded tablet. (Ⅳ) - (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! (Ⅵ)
