Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee:
- L'Éternel dit à Abram: Va-t-en de ton pays, de ta patrie, et de la maison de ton père, dans le pays que je te montrerai. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος τω̨̃ Αβραμ ἔξελθε ἐκ τη̃ς γη̃ς σου καὶ ἐκ τη̃ς συγγενείας σου καὶ ἐκ του̃ οἴκου του̃ πατρός σου εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἣν ἄν σοι δείξω (Ⅲ) - Dixit autem Dominus ad Abram : Egredere de terra tua, et de cognatione tua, et de domo patris tui, et veni in terram quam monstrabo tibi. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃12 ויאמר יהוה אל אברם לך לך מארצך וממולדתך ומבית אביך אל הארץ אשר אראך (Ⅴ)

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
- Je ferai de toi une grande nation, et je te bénirai; je rendrai ton nom grand, et tu seras une source de bénédiction. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ποιήσω σε εἰς ἔθνος μέγα καὶ εὐλογήσω σε καὶ μεγαλυνω̃ τὸ ὄνομά σου καὶ ἔση̨ εὐλογητός (Ⅲ) - Faciamque te in gentem magnam, et benedicam tibi, et magnificabo nomen tuum, erisque benedictus. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃12 ואעשך לגוי גדול ואברכך ואגדלה שמך והיה ברכה (Ⅴ)

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
- Je bénirai ceux qui te béniront, et je maudirai ceux qui te maudiront; et toutes les familles de la terre seront bénies en toi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εὐλογήσω τοὺς εὐλογου̃ντάς σε καὶ τοὺς καταρωμένους σε καταράσομαι καὶ ἐνευλογηθήσονται ἐν σοὶ πα̃σαι αἱ φυλαὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Benedicam benedicentibus tibi, et maledicam maledicentibus tibi, atque in te benedicentur universæ cognationes terræ. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃12 ואברכה מברכיך ומקללך אאר ונברכו בך כל משפחת האדמה (Ⅴ)

So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
- Abram partit, comme l'Éternel le lui avait dit, et Lot partit avec lui. Abram était âgé de soixante-quinze ans, lorsqu'il sortit de Charan. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπορεύθη Αβραμ καθάπερ ἐλάλησεν αὐτω̨̃ κύριος καὶ ὤ̨χετο μετ' αὐτου̃ Λωτ Αβραμ δὲ ἠ̃ν ἐτω̃ν ἑβδομήκοντα πέντε ὅτε ἐξη̃λθεν ἐκ Χαρραν (Ⅲ) - Egressus est itaque Abram sicut præceperat ei Dominus, et ivit cum eo Lot : septuaginta quinque annorum erat Abram cum egrederetur de Haran. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃12 וילך אברם כאשר דבר אליו יהוה וילך אתו לוט ואברם בן חמש שנים ושבעים שנה בצאתו מחרן (Ⅴ)

And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.
- Abram prit Saraï, sa femme, et Lot, fils de son frère, avec tous les biens qu'ils possédaient et les serviteurs qu'ils avaient acquis à Charan. Ils partirent pour aller dans le pays de Canaan, et ils arrivèrent au pays de Canaan. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβεν Αβραμ τὴν Σαραν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ καὶ τὸν Λωτ υἱὸν του̃ ἀδελφου̃ αὐτου̃ καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτω̃ν ὅσα ἐκτήσαντο καὶ πα̃σαν ψυχήν ἣν ἐκτήσαντο ἐν Χαρραν καὶ ἐξήλθοσαν πορευθη̃ναι εἰς γη̃ν Χανααν καὶ ἠ̃λθον εἰς γη̃ν Χανααν (Ⅲ) - Tulitque Sarai uxorem suam, et Lot filium fratris sui, universamque substantiam quam possederant, et animas quas fecerant in Haran : et egressi sunt ut irent in terram Chanaan. Cumque venissent in eam, (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃12 ויקח אברם את שרי אשתו ואת לוט בן אחיו ואת כל רכושם אשר רכשו ואת הנפש אשר עשו בחרן ויצאו ללכת ארצה כנען ויבאו ארצה כנען (Ⅴ)

And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
- Abram parcourut le pays jusqu'au lieu nommé Sichem, jusqu'aux chênes de Moré. Les Cananéens étaient alors dans le pays. (Ⅱ) - καὶ διώδευσεν Αβραμ τὴν γη̃ν εἰς τὸ μη̃κος αὐτη̃ς ἕως του̃ τόπου Συχεμ ἐπὶ τὴν δρυ̃ν τὴν ὑψηλήν οἱ δὲ Χαναναι̃οι τότε κατώ̨κουν τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ) - pertransivit Abram terram usque ad locum Sichem, usque ad convallem illustrem : Chananæus autem tunc erat in terra. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃12 ויעבר אברם בארץ עד מקום שכם עד אלון מורה והכנעני אז בארץ (Ⅴ)

And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
- L'Éternel apparut à Abram, et dit: Je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité. Et Abram bâtit là un autel à l'Éternel, qui lui était apparu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὤφθη κύριος τω̨̃ Αβραμ καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου δώσω τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν ἐκει̃ Αβραμ θυσιαστήριον κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ ὀφθέντι αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Apparuit autem Dominus Abram, et dixit ei : Semini tuo dabo terram hanc. Qui ædificavit ibi altare Domino, qui apparuerat ei. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃12 וירא יהוה אל אברם ויאמר לזרעך אתן את הארץ הזאת ויבן שם מזבח ליהוה הנראה אליו (Ⅴ)

And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.
- Il se transporta de là vers la montagne, à l'orient de Béthel, et il dressa ses tentes, ayant Béthel à l'occident et Aï à l'orient. Il bâtit encore là un autel à l'Éternel, et il invoqua le nom de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστη ἐκει̃θεν εἰς τὸ ὄρος κατ' ἀνατολὰς Βαιθηλ καὶ ἔστησεν ἐκει̃ τὴν σκηνὴν αὐτου̃ Βαιθηλ κατὰ θάλασσαν καὶ Αγγαι κατ' ἀνατολάς καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν ἐκει̃ θυσιαστήριον τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ καὶ ἐπεκαλέσατο ἐπὶ τω̨̃ ὀνόματι κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Et inde transgrediens ad montem, qui erat contra orientem Bethel, tetendit ibi tabernaculum suum, ab occidente habens Bethel, et ab oriente Hai : ædificavit quoque ibi altare Domino, et invocavit nomen ejus. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃12 ויעתק משם ההרה מקדם לבית אל ויט אהלה[q] בית אל מים והעי מקדם ויבן שם מזבח ליהוה ויקרא בשם יהוה (Ⅴ)

And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.
- Abram continua ses marches, en s'avançant vers le midi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπη̃ρεν Αβραμ καὶ πορευθεὶς ἐστρατοπέδευσεν ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ (Ⅲ) - Perrexitque Abram vadens, et ultra progrediens ad meridiem.\ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃12 ויסע אברם הלוך ונסוע הנגבה פ (Ⅴ)

And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.
- Il y eut une famine dans le pays; et Abram descendit en Égypte pour y séjourner, car la famine était grande dans le pays. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο λιμὸς ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ κατέβη Αβραμ εἰς Αἴγυπτον παροικη̃σαι ἐκει̃ ὅτι ἐνίσχυσεν ὁ λιμὸς ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Facta est autem fames in terra : descenditque Abram in Ægyptum, ut peregrinaretur ibi : prævaluerat enim fames in terra. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃12 ויהי רעב בארץ וירד אברם מצרימה לגור שם כי כבד הרעב בארץ (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:
- Comme il était près d'entrer en Égypte, il dit à Saraï, sa femme: Voici, je sais que tu es une femme belle de figure. (Ⅱ) - ἐγένετο δὲ ἡνίκα ἤγγισεν Αβραμ εἰσελθει̃ν εἰς Αἴγυπτον εἰ̃πεν Αβραμ Σαρα τη̨̃ γυναικὶ αὐτου̃ γινώσκω ἐγὼ ὅτι γυνὴ εὐπρόσωπος εἰ̃ (Ⅲ) - Cumque prope esset ut ingrederetur Ægyptum, dixit Sarai uxori suæ : Novi quod pulchra sis mulier : (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃12 ויהי כאשר הקריב לבוא מצרימה ויאמר אל שרי אשתו הנה נא ידעתי כי אשה יפת מראה את (Ⅴ)

Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.
- Quand les Égyptiens te verront, ils diront: C'est sa femme! Et ils me tueront, et te laisseront la vie. (Ⅱ) - ἔσται οὐ̃ν ὡς ἂν ἴδωσίν σε οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ἐρου̃σιν ὅτι γυνὴ αὐτου̃ αὕτη καὶ ἀποκτενου̃σίν με σὲ δὲ περιποιήσονται (Ⅲ) - et quod cum viderint te Ægyptii, dicturi sunt : Uxor ipsius est : et interficient me, et te reservabunt. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃12 והיה כי יראו אתך המצרים ואמרו אשתו זאת והרגו אתי ואתך יחיו (Ⅴ)

Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.
- Dis, je te prie, que tu es ma soeur, afin que je sois bien traité à cause de toi, et que mon âme vive grâce à toi. (Ⅱ) - εἰπὸν οὐ̃ν ὅτι ἀδελφὴ αὐτου̃ εἰμι ὅπως ἂν εὐ̃ μοι γένηται διὰ σέ καὶ ζήσεται ἡ ψυχή μου ἕνεκεν σου̃ (Ⅲ) - Dic ergo, obsecro te, quod soror mea sis : ut bene sit mihi propter te, et vivat anima mea ob gratiam tui. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃12 אמרי נא אחתי את למען ייטב לי בעבורך וחיתה נפשי בגללך (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.
- Lorsque Abram fut arrivé en Égypte, les Égyptiens virent que la femme était fort belle. (Ⅱ) - ἐγένετο δὲ ἡνίκα εἰση̃λθεν Αβραμ εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἰδόντες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι τὴν γυναι̃κα ὅτι καλὴ ἠ̃ν σφόδρα (Ⅲ) - Cum itaque ingressus esset Abram Ægyptum, viderunt Ægyptii mulierem quod esset pulchra nimis. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃12 ויהי כבוא אברם מצרימה ויראו המצרים את האשה כי יפה הוא מאד (Ⅴ)

The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
- Les grands de Pharaon la virent aussi et la vantèrent à Pharaon; et la femme fut emmenée dans la maison de Pharaon. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δον αὐτὴν οἱ ἄρχοντες Φαραω καὶ ἐπή̨νεσαν αὐτὴν πρὸς Φαραω καὶ εἰσήγαγον αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον Φαραω (Ⅲ) - Et nuntiaverunt principes Pharaoni, et laudaverunt eam apud illum : et sublata est mulier in domum Pharaonis. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃12 ויראו אתה שרי פרעה ויהללו אתה אל פרעה ותקח האשה בית פרעה (Ⅴ)

And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.
- Il traita bien Abram à cause d'elle; et Abram reçut des brebis, des boeufs, des ânes, des serviteurs et des servantes, des ânesses, et des chameaux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τω̨̃ Αβραμ εὐ̃ ἐχρήσαντο δι' αὐτήν καὶ ἐγένοντο αὐτω̨̃ πρόβατα καὶ μόσχοι καὶ ὄνοι παι̃δες καὶ παιδίσκαι ἡμίονοι καὶ κάμηλοι (Ⅲ) - Abram vero bene usi sunt propter illam : fueruntque ei oves et boves et asini, et servi et famulæ, et asinæ et cameli. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃12 ולאברם היטיב בעבורה ויהי לו צאן ובקר וחמרים ועבדים ושפחת ואתנת וגמלים (Ⅴ)

And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.
- Mais l'Éternel frappa de grandes plaies Pharaon et sa maison, au sujet de Saraï, femme d'Abram. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἤτασεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν Φαραω ἐτασμοι̃ς μεγάλοις καὶ πονηροι̃ς καὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ περὶ Σαρας τη̃ς γυναικὸς Αβραμ (Ⅲ) - Flagellavit autem Dominus Pharaonem plagis maximis, et domum ejus, propter Sarai uxorem Abram. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃12 וינגע יהוה את פרעה נגעים גדלים ואת ביתו על דבר שרי אשת אברם (Ⅴ)

And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?
- Alors Pharaon appela Abram, et dit: Qu'est-ce que tu m'as fait? Pourquoi ne m'as-tu pas déclaré que c'est ta femme? (Ⅱ) - καλέσας δὲ Φαραω τὸν Αβραμ εἰ̃πεν τί του̃το ἐποίησάς μοι ὅτι οὐκ ἀπήγγειλάς μοι ὅτι γυνή σού ἐστιν (Ⅲ) - Vocavitque Pharao Abram, et dixit ei : Quidnam est hoc quod fecisti mihi ? quare non indicasti quod uxor tua esset ? (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃12 ויקרא פרעה לאברם ויאמר מה זאת עשית לי למה לא הגדת לי כי אשתך הוא (Ⅴ)

Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.
- Pourquoi as-tu dit: C'est ma soeur? Aussi l'ai-je prise pour ma femme. Maintenant, voici ta femme, prends-la, et va-t-en! (Ⅱ) - ἵνα τί εἰ̃πας ὅτι ἀδελφή μού ἐστιν καὶ ἔλαβον αὐτὴν ἐμαυτω̨̃ εἰς γυναι̃κα καὶ νυ̃ν ἰδοὺ ἡ γυνή σου ἐναντίον σου λαβὼν ἀπότρεχε (Ⅲ) - quam ob causam dixisti esse sororem tuam, ut tollerem eam mihi in uxorem ? Nunc igitur ecce conjux tua, accipe eam, et vade. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃12 למה אמרת אחתי הוא ואקח אתה לי לאשה ועתה הנה אשתך קח ולך (Ⅴ)

And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.
- Et Pharaon donna ordre à ses gens de le renvoyer, lui et sa femme, avec tout ce qui lui appartenait. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐνετείλατο Φαραω ἀνδράσιν περὶ Αβραμ συμπροπέμψαι αὐτὸν καὶ τὴν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἠ̃ν αὐτω̨̃ καὶ Λωτ μετ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Præcepitque Pharao super Abram viris : et deduxerunt eum, et uxorem illius, et omnia quæ habebat. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃12 ויצו עליו פרעה אנשים וישלחו אתו ואת אשתו ואת כל אשר לו (Ⅴ)
