19. 1

And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

- Les deux anges arrivèrent à Sodome sur le soir; et Lot était assis à la porte de Sodome. Quand Lot les vit, il se leva pour aller au-devant d'eux, et se prosterna la face contre terre. (Ⅱ)

- ἠ̃λθον δὲ οἱ δύο ἄγγελοι εἰς Σοδομα ἑσπέρας Λωτ δὲ ἐκάθητο παρὰ τὴν πύλην Σοδομων ἰδὼν δὲ Λωτ ἐξανέστη εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτοι̃ς καὶ προσεκύνησεν τω̨̃ προσώπω̨ ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Veneruntque duo angeli Sodomam vespere, et sedente Lot in foribus civitatis. Qui cum vidisset eos, surrexit, et ivit obviam eis : adoravitque pronus in terram, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃19 ויבאו שני המלאכים סדמה בערב ולוט ישב בשער סדם וירא לוט ויקם לקראתם וישתחו אפים ארצה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 2

And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

- Puis il dit: Voici, mes seigneurs, entrez, je vous prie, dans la maison de votre serviteur, et passez-y la nuit; lavez-vous les pieds; vous vous lèverez de bon matin, et vous poursuivrez votre route. Non, répondirent-ils, nous passerons la nuit dans la rue. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἰδού κύριοι ἐκκλίνατε εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ παιδὸς ὑμω̃ν καὶ καταλύσατε καὶ νίψασθε τοὺς πόδας ὑμω̃ν καὶ ὀρθρίσαντες ἀπελεύσεσθε εἰς τὴν ὁδὸν ὑμω̃ν εἰ̃παν δέ οὐχί ἀλλ' ἐν τη̨̃ πλατεία̨ καταλύσομεν (Ⅲ)

- et dixit : Obsecro, domini, declinate in domum pueri vestri, et manete ibi : lavate pedes vestros, et mane proficiscemini in viam vestram. Qui dixerunt : Minime, sed in platea manebimus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃19 ויאמר הנה נא אדני סורו נא אל בית עבדכם ולינו ורחצו רגליכם והשכמתם והלכתם‪[v]‬ לדרככם ויאמרו לא כי ברחוב נלין ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 3

And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

- Mais Lot les pressa tellement qu'ils vinrent chez lui et entrèrent dans sa maison. Il leur donna un festin, et fit cuire des pains sans levain. Et ils mangèrent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατεβιάζετο αὐτούς καὶ ἐξέκλιναν πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ εἰση̃λθον εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτοι̃ς πότον καὶ ἀζύμους ἔπεψεν αὐτοι̃ς καὶ ἔφαγον (Ⅲ)

- Compulit illos oppido ut diverterent ad eum : ingressisque domum illius fecit convivium, et coxit azyma, et comederunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃19 ויפצר בם מאד ויסרו אליו ויבאו אל ביתו ויעש להם משתה ומצות אפה ויאכלו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 4

But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

- Ils n'étaient pas encore couchés que les gens de la ville, les gens de Sodome, entourèrent la maison, depuis les enfants jusqu'aux vieillards; toute la population était accourue. (Ⅱ)

- πρὸ του̃ κοιμηθη̃ναι καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες τη̃ς πόλεως οἱ Σοδομι̃ται περιεκύκλωσαν τὴν οἰκίαν ἀπὸ νεανίσκου ἕως πρεσβυτέρου ἅπας ὁ λαὸς ἅμα (Ⅲ)

- Prius autem quam irent cubitum, viri civitatis vallaverunt domum a puero usque ad senem, omnis populus simul. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃19 טרם ישכבו ואנשי העיר אנשי סדם נסבו על הבית מנער ועד זקן כל העם מקצה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 5

And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

- Ils appelèrent Lot, et lui dirent: Où sont les hommes qui sont entrés chez toi cette nuit? Fais-les sortir vers nous, pour que nous les connaissions. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξεκαλου̃ντο τὸν Λωτ καὶ ἔλεγον πρὸς αὐτόν που̃ εἰσιν οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ εἰσελθόντες πρὸς σὲ τὴν νύκτα ἐξάγαγε αὐτοὺς πρὸς ἡμα̃ς ἵνα συγγενώμεθα αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Vocaveruntque Lot, et dixerunt ei : Ubi sunt viri qui introierunt ad te nocte ? educ illos huc, ut cognoscamus eos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃19 ויקראו אל לוט ויאמרו לו איה האנשים אשר באו אליך הלילה הוציאם אלינו ונדעה אתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 6

And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,

- Lot sortit vers eux à l'entrée de la maison, et ferma la porte derrière lui. (Ⅱ)

- ἐξη̃λθεν δὲ Λωτ πρὸς αὐτοὺς πρὸς τὸ πρόθυρον τὴν δὲ θύραν προσέω̨ξεν ὀπίσω αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Egressus ad eos Lot, post tergum occludens ostium, ait : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃19 ויצא אלהם לוט הפתחה והדלת סגר אחריו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 7

And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.

- Et il dit: Mes frères, je vous prie, ne faites pas le mal! (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτούς μηδαμω̃ς ἀδελφοί μὴ πονηρεύσησθε (Ⅲ)

- Nolite, quæso, fratres mei, nolite malum hoc facere. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃19 ויאמר אל נא אחי תרעו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 8

Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

- Voici, j'ai deux filles qui n'ont point connu d'homme; je vous les amènerai dehors, et vous leur ferez ce qu'il vous plaira. Seulement, ne faites rien à ces hommes puisqu'ils sont venus à l'ombre de mon toit. (Ⅱ)

- εἰσὶν δέ μοι δύο θυγατέρες αἳ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ἄνδρα ἐξάξω αὐτὰς πρὸς ὑμα̃ς καὶ χρήσασθε αὐται̃ς καθὰ ἂν ἀρέσκη̨ ὑμι̃ν μόνον εἰς τοὺς ἄνδρας τούτους μὴ ποιήσητε μηδὲν ἄδικον οὑ̃ εἵνεκεν εἰση̃λθον ὑπὸ τὴν σκέπην τω̃ν δοκω̃ν μου (Ⅲ)

- Habeo duas filias, quæ necdum cognoverunt virum : educam eas ad vos, et abutimini eis sicut vobis placuerit, dummodo viris istis nihil mali faciatis, quia ingressi sunt sub umbra culminis mei. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃19 הנה נא לי שתי בנות אשר לא ידעו איש אוציאה נא אתהן אליכם ועשו להן כטוב בעיניכם רק לאנשים האל אל תעשו דבר כי על כן באו בצל קרתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 9

And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

- Ils dirent: Retire-toi! Ils dirent encore: Celui-ci est venu comme étranger, et il veut faire le juge! Eh bien, nous te ferons pis qu'à eux. Et, pressant Lot avec violence, ils s'avancèrent pour briser la porte. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃παν δέ ἀπόστα ἐκει̃ εἱ̃ς ἠ̃λθες παροικει̃ν μὴ καὶ κρίσιν κρίνειν νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν σὲ κακώσομεν μα̃λλον ἢ ἐκείνους καὶ παρεβιάζοντο τὸν ἄνδρα τὸν Λωτ σφόδρα καὶ ἤγγισαν συντρι̃ψαι τὴν θύραν (Ⅲ)

- At illi dixerunt : Recede illuc. Et rursus : Ingressus es, inquiunt, ut advena ; numquid ut judices ? te ergo ipsum magis quam hos affligemus. Vimque faciebant Lot vehementissime : jamque prope erat ut effringerent fores. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃19 ויאמרו גש הלאה ויאמרו האחד בא לגור וישפט שפוט עתה נרע לך מהם ויפצרו באיש בלוט מאד ויגשו לשבר הדלת ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 10

But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.

- Les hommes étendirent la main, firent rentrer Lot vers eux dans la maison, et fermèrent la porte. (Ⅱ)

- ἐκτείναντες δὲ οἱ ἄνδρες τὰς χει̃ρας εἰσεσπάσαντο τὸν Λωτ πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον καὶ τὴν θύραν του̃ οἴκου ἀπέκλεισαν (Ⅲ)

- Et ecce miserunt manum viri, et introduxerunt ad se Lot, clauseruntque ostium : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃19 וישלחו האנשים את ידם ויביאו את לוט אליהם הביתה ואת הדלת סגרו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 11

And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

- Et ils frappèrent d'aveuglement les gens qui étaient à l'entrée de la maison, depuis le plus petit jusqu'au plus grand, de sorte qu'ils se donnèrent une peine inutile pour trouver la porte. (Ⅱ)

- τοὺς δὲ ἄνδρας τοὺς ὄντας ἐπὶ τη̃ς θύρας του̃ οἴκου ἐπάταξαν ἀορασία̨ ἀπὸ μικρου̃ ἕως μεγάλου καὶ παρελύθησαν ζητου̃ντες τὴν θύραν (Ⅲ)

- et eos, qui foris erant, percusserunt cæcitate a minimo usque ad maximum, ita ut ostium invenire non possent. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃19 ואת האנשים אשר פתח הבית הכו בסנורים מקטן ועד גדול וילאו למצא הפתח ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 12

And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:

- Les hommes dirent à Lot: Qui as-tu encore ici? Gendres, fils et filles, et tout ce qui t'appartient dans la ville, fais-les sortir de ce lieu. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃παν δὲ οἱ ἄνδρες πρὸς Λωτ ἔστιν τίς σοι ὡ̃δε γαμβροὶ ἢ υἱοὶ ἢ θυγατέρες ἢ εἴ τίς σοι ἄλλος ἔστιν ἐν τη̨̃ πόλει ἐξάγαγε ἐκ του̃ τόπου τούτου (Ⅲ)

- Dixerunt autem ad Lot : Habes hic quempiam tuorum ? generum, aut filios, aut filias, omnes, qui tui sunt, educ de urbe hac : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃19 ויאמרו האנשים אל לוט עד מי לך פה חתן ובניך ובנתיך וכל אשר לך בעיר הוצא מן המקום ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 13

For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.

- Car nous allons détruire ce lieu, parce que le cri contre ses habitants est grand devant l'Éternel. L'Éternel nous a envoyés pour le détruire. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἀπόλλυμεν ἡμει̃ς τὸν τόπον του̃τον ὅτι ὑψώθη ἡ κραυγὴ αὐτω̃ν ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἡμα̃ς κύριος ἐκτρι̃ψαι αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- delebimus enim locum istum, eo quod increverit clamor eorum coram Domino, qui misit nos ut perdamus illos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃19 כי משחתים אנחנו את המקום הזה כי גדלה צעקתם את פני יהוה וישלחנו יהוה לשחתה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 14

And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

- Lot sortit, et parla à ses gendres qui avaient pris ses filles: Levez-vous, dit-il, sortez de ce lieu; car l'Éternel va détruire la ville. Mais, aux yeux de ses gendres, il parut plaisanter. (Ⅱ)

- ἐξη̃λθεν δὲ Λωτ καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς τοὺς γαμβροὺς αὐτου̃ τοὺς εἰληφότας τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἀνάστητε καὶ ἐξέλθατε ἐκ του̃ τόπου τούτου ὅτι ἐκτρίβει κύριος τὴν πόλιν ἔδοξεν δὲ γελοιάζειν ἐναντίον τω̃ν γαμβρω̃ν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Egressus itaque Lot, locutus est ad generos suos qui accepturi erant filias ejus, et dixit : Surgite, egredimini de loco isto : quia delebit Dominus civitatem hanc. Et visus est eis quasi ludens loqui.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃19 ויצא לוט וידבר אל חתניו לקחי בנתיו ויאמר קומו צאו מן המקום הזה כי משחית יהוה את העיר ויהי כמצחק בעיני חתניו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 15

And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

- Dès l'aube du jour, les anges insistèrent auprès de Lot, en disant: Lève-toi, prends ta femme et tes deux filles qui se trouvent ici, de peur que tu ne périsses dans la ruine de la ville. (Ⅱ)

- ἡνίκα δὲ ὄρθρος ἐγίνετο ἐπεσπούδαζον οἱ ἄγγελοι τὸν Λωτ λέγοντες ἀναστὰς λαβὲ τὴν γυναι̃κά σου καὶ τὰς δύο θυγατέρας σου ἃς ἔχεις καὶ ἔξελθε ἵνα μὴ συναπόλη̨ ται̃ς ἀνομίαις τη̃ς πόλεως (Ⅲ)

- Cumque esset mane, cogebant eum angeli, dicentes : Surge, tolle uxorem tuam, et duas filias quas habes : ne et tu pariter pereas in scelere civitatis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃19 וכמו השחר עלה ויאיצו המלאכים בלוט לאמר קום קח את אשתך ואת שתי בנתיך הנמצאת פן תספה בעון העיר ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 16

And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

- Et comme il tardait, les hommes le saisirent par la main, lui, sa femme et ses deux filles, car l'Éternel voulait l'épargner; ils l'emmenèrent, et le laissèrent hors de la ville. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐταράχθησαν καὶ ἐκράτησαν οἱ ἄγγελοι τη̃ς χειρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ τη̃ς χειρὸς τη̃ς γυναικὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ τω̃ν χειρω̃ν τω̃ν δύο θυγατέρων αὐτου̃ ἐν τω̨̃ φείσασθαι κύριον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Dissimulante illo, apprehenderunt manum ejus, et manum uxoris, ac duarum filiarum ejus, eo quod parceret Dominus illi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃19 ויתמהמה ויחזקו האנשים בידו וביד אשתו וביד שתי בנתיו בחמלת יהוה עליו ויצאהו וינחהו מחוץ לעיר ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 17

And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

- Après les avoir fait sortir, l'un d'eux dit: Sauve-toi, pour ta vie; ne regarde pas derrière toi, et ne t'arrête pas dans toute la plaine; sauve-toi vers la montagne, de peur que tu ne périsses. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ἐξήγαγον αὐτοὺς ἔξω καὶ εἰ̃παν σώ̨ζων σω̨̃ζε τὴν σεαυτου̃ ψυχήν μὴ περιβλέψη̨ς εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω μηδὲ στη̨̃ς ἐν πάση̨ τη̨̃ περιχώρω̨ εἰς τὸ ὄρος σώ̨ζου μήποτε συμπαραλημφθη̨̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Eduxeruntque eum, et posuerunt extra civitatem : ibique locuti sunt ad eum, dicentes : Salva animam tuam : noli respicere post tergum, nec stes in omni circa regione : sed in monte salvum te fac, ne et tu simul pereas. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃19 ויהי כהוציאם אתם החוצה ויאמר המלט על נפשך אל תביט אחריך ואל תעמד בכל הככר ההרה המלט פן תספה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 18

And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my LORD:

- Lot leur dit: Oh! non, Seigneur! (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ Λωτ πρὸς αὐτούς δέομαι κύριε (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque Lot ad eos : Quæso, domine mi, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃19 ויאמר לוט אלהם אל נא אדני ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 19

Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:

- Voici, j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, et tu as montré la grandeur de ta miséricorde à mon égard, en me conservant la vie; mais je ne puis me sauver à la montagne, avant que le désastre m'atteigne, et je périrai. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπειδὴ εὑ̃ρεν ὁ παι̃ς σου ἔλεος ἐναντίον σου καὶ ἐμεγάλυνας τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου ὃ ποιει̃ς ἐπ' ἐμέ του̃ ζη̃ν τὴν ψυχήν μου ἐγὼ δὲ οὐ δυνήσομαι διασωθη̃ναι εἰς τὸ ὄρος μὴ καταλάβη̨ με τὰ κακὰ καὶ ἀποθάνω (Ⅲ)

- quia invenit servus tuus gratiam coram te, et magnificasti misericordiam tuam quam fecisti mecum, ut salvares animam meam, nec possum in monte salvari, ne forte apprehendat me malum, et moriar : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃19 הנה נא מצא עבדך חן בעיניך ותגדל חסדך אשר עשית עמדי להחיות את נפשי ואנכי לא אוכל להמלט ההרה פן תדבקני הרעה ומתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 20

Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.

- Voici, cette ville est assez proche pour que je m'y réfugie, et elle est petite. Oh! que je puisse m'y sauver,... n'est-elle pas petite?... et que mon âme vive! (Ⅱ)

- ἰδοὺ ἡ πόλις αὕτη ἐγγὺς του̃ καταφυγει̃ν με ἐκει̃ ἥ ἐστιν μικρά ἐκει̃ σωθήσομαι οὐ μικρά ἐστιν καὶ ζήσεται ἡ ψυχή μου (Ⅲ)

- est civitas hæc juxta, ad quam possum fugere, parva, et salvabor in ea : numquid non modica est, et vivet anima mea ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃19 הנה נא העיר הזאת קרבה לנוס שמה והיא מצער אמלטה נא שמה הלא מצער הוא ותחי נפשי ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 21

And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.

- Et il lui dit: Voici, je t'accorde encore cette grâce, et je ne détruirai pas la ville dont tu parles. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ἰδοὺ ἐθαύμασά σου τὸ πρόσωπον καὶ ἐπὶ τω̨̃ ῥήματι τούτω̨ του̃ μὴ καταστρέψαι τὴν πόλιν περὶ ἡ̃ς ἐλάλησας (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque ad eum : Ecce etiam in hoc suscepi preces tuas, ut non subvertam urbem pro qua locutus es. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃19 ויאמר אליו הנה נשאתי פניך גם לדבר הזה לבלתי הפכי את העיר אשר דברת ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 22

Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

- Hâte-toi de t'y réfugier, car je ne puis rien faire jusqu'à ce que tu y sois arrivé. C'est pour cela que l'on a donné à cette ville le nom de Tsoar. (Ⅱ)

- σπευ̃σον οὐ̃ν του̃ σωθη̃ναι ἐκει̃ οὐ γὰρ δυνήσομαι ποιη̃σαι πρα̃γμα ἕως του̃ σε εἰσελθει̃ν ἐκει̃ διὰ του̃το ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα τη̃ς πόλεως ἐκείνης Σηγωρ (Ⅲ)

- Festina, et salvare ibi : quia non potero facere quidquam donec ingrediaris illuc. Idcirco vocatum est nomen urbis illius Segor. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃19 מהר המלט שמה כי לא אוכל לעשות דבר עד באך שמה על כן קרא שם העיר צוער ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 23

The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.

- Le soleil se levait sur la terre, lorsque Lot entra dans Tsoar. (Ⅱ)

- ὁ ἥλιος ἐξη̃λθεν ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν καὶ Λωτ εἰση̃λθεν εἰς Σηγωρ (Ⅲ)

- Sol egressus est super terram, et Lot ingressus est Segor. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃19 השמש יצא על הארץ ולוט בא צערה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 24

Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

- Alors l'Éternel fit pleuvoir du ciel sur Sodome et sur Gomorrhe du soufre et du feu, de par l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κύριος ἔβρεξεν ἐπὶ Σοδομα καὶ Γομορρα θει̃ον καὶ πυ̃ρ παρὰ κυρίου ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Igitur Dominus pluit super Sodomam et Gomorrham sulphur et ignem a Domino de cælo : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃19 ויהוה המטיר על סדם ועל עמרה גפרית ואש מאת יהוה מן השמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 25

And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

- Il détruisit ces villes, toute la plaine et tous les habitants des villes, et les plantes de la terre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέστρεψεν τὰς πόλεις ταύτας καὶ πα̃σαν τὴν περίοικον καὶ πάντας τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσιν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἀνατέλλοντα ἐκ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- et subvertit civitates has, et omnem circa regionem, universos habitatores urbium, et cuncta terræ virentia. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃19 ויהפך את הערים האל ואת כל הככר ואת כל ישבי הערים וצמח האדמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 26

But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

- La femme de Lot regarda en arrière, et elle devint une statue de sel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέβλεψεν ἡ γυνὴ αὐτου̃ εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω καὶ ἐγένετο στήλη ἁλός (Ⅲ)

- Respiciensque uxor ejus post se, versa est in statuam salis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃19 ותבט אשתו מאחריו ותהי נציב מלח ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 27

And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:

- Abraham se leva de bon matin, pour aller au lieu où il s'était tenu en présence de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- ὤρθρισεν δὲ Αβρααμ τὸ πρωὶ εἰς τὸν τόπον οὑ̃ εἱστήκει ἐναντίον κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Abraham autem consurgens mane, ubi steterat prius cum Domino, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃19 וישכם אברהם בבקר אל המקום אשר עמד שם את פני יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 28

And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.

- Il porta ses regards du côté de Sodome et de Gomorrhe, et sur tout le territoire de la plaine; et voici, il vit s'élever de la terre une fumée, comme la fumée d'une fournaise. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέβλεψεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον Σοδομων καὶ Γομορρας καὶ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τη̃ς γη̃ς τη̃ς περιχώρου καὶ εἰ̃δεν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνέβαινεν φλὸξ τη̃ς γη̃ς ὡσεὶ ἀτμὶς καμίνου (Ⅲ)

- intuitus est Sodomam et Gomorrham, et universam terram regionis illius : viditque ascendentem favillam de terra quasi fornacis fumum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃19 וישקף על פני סדם ועמרה ועל כל פני ארץ הככר וירא והנה עלה קיטר הארץ כקיטר הכבשן ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 29

And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

- Lorsque Dieu détruisit les villes de la plaine, il se souvint d'Abraham; et il fit échapper Lot du milieu du désastre, par lequel il bouleversa les villes où Lot avait établi sa demeure. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ ἐκτρι̃ψαι κύριον πάσας τὰς πόλεις τη̃ς περιοίκου ἐμνήσθη ὁ θεὸς του̃ Αβρααμ καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν τὸν Λωτ ἐκ μέσου τη̃ς καταστροφη̃ς ἐν τω̨̃ καταστρέψαι κύριον τὰς πόλεις ἐν αἱ̃ς κατώ̨κει ἐν αὐται̃ς Λωτ (Ⅲ)

- Cum enim subverteret Deus civitates regionis illius, recordatus Abrahæ, liberavit Lot de subversione urbium in quibus habitaverat.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃19 ויהי בשחת אלהים את ערי הככר ויזכר אלהים את אברהם וישלח את לוט מתוך ההפכה בהפך את הערים אשר ישב בהן לוט ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 30

And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

- Lot quitta Tsoar pour la hauteur, et se fixa sur la montagne, avec ses deux filles, car il craignait de rester à Tsoar. Il habita dans une caverne, lui et ses deux filles. (Ⅱ)

- ἀνέβη δὲ Λωτ ἐκ Σηγωρ καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει καὶ αἱ δύο θυγατέρες αὐτου̃ μετ' αὐτου̃ ἐφοβήθη γὰρ κατοικη̃σαι ἐν Σηγωρ καὶ ὤ̨κησεν ἐν τω̨̃ σπηλαίω̨ αὐτὸς καὶ αἱ δύο θυγατέρες αὐτου̃ μετ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Ascenditque Lot de Segor, et mansit in monte, duæ quoque filiæ ejus cum eo (timuerat enim manere in Segor) et mansit in spelunca ipse, et duæ filiæ ejus cum eo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃19 ויעל לוט מצוער וישב בהר ושתי בנתיו עמו כי ירא לשבת בצוער וישב במערה הוא ושתי בנתיו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 31

And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:

- L'aînée dit à la plus jeune: Notre père est vieux; et il n'y a point d'homme dans la contrée, pour venir vers nous, selon l'usage de tous les pays. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ ἡ πρεσβυτέρα πρὸς τὴν νεωτέραν ὁ πατὴρ ἡμω̃ν πρεσβύτερος καὶ οὐδείς ἐστιν ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ὃς εἰσελεύσεται πρὸς ἡμα̃ς ὡς καθήκει πάση̨ τη̨̃ γη̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque major ad minorem : Pater noster senex est, et nullus virorum remansit in terra, qui possit ingredi ad nos juxta morem universæ terræ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃19 ותאמר הבכירה אל הצעירה אבינו זקן ואיש אין בארץ לבוא עלינו כדרך כל הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 32

Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

- Viens, faisons boire du vin à notre père, et couchons avec lui, afin que nous conservions la race de notre père. (Ⅱ)

- δευ̃ρο καὶ ποτίσωμεν τὸν πατέρα ἡμω̃ν οἰ̃νον καὶ κοιμηθω̃μεν μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐξαναστήσωμεν ἐκ του̃ πατρὸς ἡμω̃ν σπέρμα (Ⅲ)

- Veni, inebriemus eum vino, dormiamusque cum eo, ut servare possimus ex patre nostro semen. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃19 לכה נשקה את אבינו יין ונשכבה עמו ונחיה מאבינו זרע ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 33

And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

- Elles firent donc boire du vin à leur père cette nuit-là; et l'aînée alla coucher avec son père: il ne s'aperçut ni quand elle se coucha, ni quand elle se leva. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπότισαν δὲ τὸν πατέρα αὐτω̃ν οἰ̃νον ἐν τη̨̃ νυκτὶ ταύτη̨ καὶ εἰσελθου̃σα ἡ πρεσβυτέρα ἐκοιμήθη μετὰ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτη̃ς τὴν νύκτα ἐκείνην καὶ οὐκ ἤ̨δει ἐν τω̨̃ κοιμηθη̃ναι αὐτὴν καὶ ἀναστη̃ναι (Ⅲ)

- Dederunt itaque patri suo bibere vinum nocte illa. Et ingressa est major, dormivitque cum patre ; at ille non sensit, nec quando accubuit filia, nec quando surrexit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃19 ותשקין את אביהן יין בלילה הוא ותבא הבכירה ותשכב את אביה ולא ידע בשכבה ובקומה‪[4]‬ ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 34

And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

- Le lendemain, l'aînée dit à la plus jeune: Voici, j'ai couché la nuit dernière avec mon père; faisons-lui boire du vin encore cette nuit, et va coucher avec lui, afin que nous conservions la race de notre père. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγένετο δὲ τη̨̃ ἐπαύριον καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἡ πρεσβυτέρα πρὸς τὴν νεωτέραν ἰδοὺ ἐκοιμήθην ἐχθὲς μετὰ του̃ πατρὸς ἡμω̃ν ποτίσωμεν αὐτὸν οἰ̃νον καὶ τὴν νύκτα ταύτην καὶ εἰσελθου̃σα κοιμήθητι μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐξαναστήσωμεν ἐκ του̃ πατρὸς ἡμω̃ν σπέρμα (Ⅲ)

- Altera quoque die dixit major ad minorem : Ecce dormivi heri cum patre meo, demus ei bibere vinum etiam hac nocte, et dormies cum eo, ut salvemus semen de patre nostro. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃19 ויהי ממחרת ותאמר הבכירה אל הצעירה הן שכבתי אמש את אבי נשקנו יין גם הלילה ובאי שכבי עמו ונחיה מאבינו זרע ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 35

And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

- Elles firent boire du vin à leur père encore cette nuit-là; et la cadette alla coucher avec lui: il ne s'aperçut ni quand elle se coucha, ni quand elle se leva. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπότισαν δὲ καὶ ἐν τη̨̃ νυκτὶ ἐκείνη̨ τὸν πατέρα αὐτω̃ν οἰ̃νον καὶ εἰσελθου̃σα ἡ νεωτέρα ἐκοιμήθη μετὰ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτη̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἤ̨δει ἐν τω̨̃ κοιμηθη̃ναι αὐτὴν καὶ ἀναστη̃ναι (Ⅲ)

- Dederunt etiam et illa nocte patri suo bibere vinum, ingressaque minor filia, dormivit cum eo : et ne tunc quidem sensit quando concubuerit, vel quando illa surrexerit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃19 ותשקין גם בלילה ההוא את אביהן יין ותקם הצעירה ותשכב עמו ולא ידע בשכבה ובקמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 36

Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

- Les deux filles de Lot devinrent enceintes de leur père. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνέλαβον αἱ δύο θυγατέρες Λωτ ἐκ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Conceperunt ergo duæ filiæ Lot de patre suo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃19 ותהרין שתי בנות לוט מאביהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 37

And the first born bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.

- L'aînée enfanta un fils, qu'elle appela du nom de Moab: c'est le père des Moabites, jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔτεκεν ἡ πρεσβυτέρα υἱὸν καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ Μωαβ λέγουσα ἐκ του̃ πατρός μου οὑ̃τος πατὴρ Μωαβιτω̃ν ἕως τη̃ς σήμερον ἡμέρας (Ⅲ)

- Peperitque major filium, et vocavit nomen ejus Moab : ipse est pater Moabitarum usque in præsentem diem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃19 ותלד הבכירה בן ותקרא שמו מואב הוא אבי מואב עד היום ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 38

And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.

- La plus jeune enfanta aussi un fils, qu'elle appela du nom de Ben Ammi: c'est le père des Ammonites, jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ)

- ἔτεκεν δὲ καὶ ἡ νεωτέρα υἱὸν καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ Αμμαν υἱὸς του̃ γένους μου οὑ̃τος πατὴρ Αμμανιτω̃ν ἕως τη̃ς σήμερον ἡμέρας (Ⅲ)

- Minor quoque peperit filium, et vocavit nomen ejus Ammon, id est, Filius populi mei : ipse est pater Ammonitarum usque hodie. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃19 והצעירה גם הוא ילדה בן ותקרא שמו בן עמי הוא אבי בני עמון עד היום ס‬ (Ⅴ)
