26. 1

And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

- Il y eut une famine dans le pays, outre la première famine qui eut lieu du temps d'Abraham; et Isaac alla vers Abimélec, roi des Philistins, à Guérar. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγένετο δὲ λιμὸς ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς χωρὶς του̃ λιμου̃ του̃ πρότερον ὃς ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ χρόνω̨ τω̨̃ Αβρααμ ἐπορεύθη δὲ Ισαακ πρὸς Αβιμελεχ βασιλέα Φυλιστιιμ εἰς Γεραρα (Ⅲ)

- Orta autem fame super terram post eam sterilitatem, quæ acciderat in diebus Abraham, abiit Isaac ad Abimelech regem Palæstinorum in Gerara. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃26 ויהי רעב בארץ מלבד הרעב הראשון אשר היה בימי אברהם וילך יצחק אל אבימלך‪[1]‬ מלך פלשתים גררה ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 2

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

- L'Éternel lui apparut, et dit: Ne descends pas en Égypte, demeure dans le pays que je te dirai. (Ⅱ)

- ὤφθη δὲ αὐτω̨̃ κύριος καὶ εἰ̃πεν μὴ καταβη̨̃ς εἰς Αἴγυπτον κατοίκησον δὲ ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ ἡ̨̃ ἄν σοι εἴπω (Ⅲ)

- Apparuitque ei Dominus, et ait : Ne descendas in Ægyptum, sed quiesce in terra quam dixero tibi, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃26 וירא אליו יהוה ויאמר אל תרד מצרימה שכן בארץ אשר אמר אליך ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 3

Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;

- Séjourne dans ce pays-ci: je serai avec toi, et je te bénirai, car je donnerai toutes ces contrées à toi et à ta postérité, et je tiendrai le serment que j'ai fait à Abraham, ton père. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ παροίκει ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ ταύτη̨ καὶ ἔσομαι μετὰ σου̃ καὶ εὐλογήσω σε σοὶ γὰρ καὶ τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου δώσω πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην καὶ στήσω τὸν ὅρκον μου ὃν ὤμοσα Αβρααμ τω̨̃ πατρί σου (Ⅲ)

- et peregrinare in ea : eroque tecum, et benedicam tibi : tibi enim et semini tuo dabo universas regiones has, complens juramentum quod spopondi Abraham patri tuo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃26 גור בארץ הזאת ואהיה עמך ואברכך כי לך ולזרעך אתן את כל הארצת האל והקמתי את השבעה אשר נשבעתי לאברהם אביך ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 4

And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

- Je multiplierai ta postérité comme les étoiles du ciel; je donnerai à ta postérité toutes ces contrées; et toutes les nations de la terre seront bénies en ta postérité, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πληθυνω̃ τὸ σπέρμα σου ὡς τοὺς ἀστέρας του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ δώσω τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην καὶ ἐνευλογηθήσονται ἐν τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Et multiplicabo semen tuum sicut stellas cæli : daboque posteris tuis universas regiones has : et benedicentur in semine tuo omnes gentes terræ, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃26 והרביתי את זרעך ככוכבי השמים ונתתי לזרעך את כל הארצת האל והתברכו בזרעך כל גויי הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 5

Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

- parce qu'Abraham a obéi à ma voix, et qu'il a observé mes ordres, mes commandements, mes statuts et mes lois. (Ⅱ)

- ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν ὑπήκουσεν Αβρααμ ὁ πατήρ σου τη̃ς ἐμη̃ς φωνη̃ς καὶ ἐφύλαξεν τὰ προστάγματά μου καὶ τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τὰ δικαιώματά μου καὶ τὰ νόμιμά μου (Ⅲ)

- eo quod obedierit Abraham voci meæ, et custodierit præcepta et mandata mea, et cæremonias legesque servaverit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃26 עקב אשר שמע אברהם בקלי וישמר משמרתי מצותי חקותי ותורתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 6

And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:

- Et Isaac resta à Guérar. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατώ̨κησεν Ισαακ ἐν Γεραροις (Ⅲ)

- Mansit itaque Isaac in Geraris.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃26 וישב יצחק בגרר ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 7

And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.

- Lorsque les gens du lieu faisaient des questions sur sa femme, il disait: C'est ma soeur; car il craignait, en disant ma femme, que les gens du lieu ne le tuassent, parce que Rebecca était belle de figure. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπηρώτησαν δὲ οἱ ἄνδρες του̃ τόπου περὶ Ρεβεκκας τη̃ς γυναικὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἀδελφή μού ἐστιν ἐφοβήθη γὰρ εἰπει̃ν ὅτι γυνή μού ἐστιν μήποτε ἀποκτείνωσιν αὐτὸν οἱ ἄνδρες του̃ τόπου περὶ Ρεβεκκας ὅτι ὡραία τη̨̃ ὄψει ἠ̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Qui cum interrogaretur a viris loci illius super uxore sua, respondit : Soror mea est : timuerat enim confiteri quod sibi esset sociata conjugio, reputans ne forte interficerent eum propter illius pulchritudinem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃26 וישאלו אנשי המקום לאשתו ויאמר אחתי הוא כי ירא לאמר אשתי פן יהרגני אנשי המקום על רבקה כי טובת מראה היא ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 8

And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.

- Comme son séjour se prolongeait, il arriva qu'Abimélec, roi des Philistins, regardant par la fenêtre, vit Isaac qui plaisantait avec Rebecca, sa femme. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγένετο δὲ πολυχρόνιος ἐκει̃ παρακύψας δὲ Αβιμελεχ ὁ βασιλεὺς Γεραρων διὰ τη̃ς θυρίδος εἰ̃δεν τὸν Ισαακ παίζοντα μετὰ Ρεβεκκας τη̃ς γυναικὸς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque pertransissent dies plurimi, et ibidem moraretur, prospiciens Abimelech rex Palæstinorum per fenestram, vidit eum jocantem cum Rebecca uxore sua. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃26 ויהי כי ארכו לו שם הימים וישקף אבימלך מלך פלשתים בעד החלון וירא והנה יצחק מצחק את רבקה אשתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 9

And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife; and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.

- Abimélec fit appeler Isaac, et dit: Certainement, c'est ta femme. Comment as-tu pu dire: C'est ma soeur? Isaac lui répondit: J'ai parlé ainsi, de peur de mourir à cause d'elle. (Ⅱ)

- ἐκάλεσεν δὲ Αβιμελεχ τὸν Ισαακ καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ἄρα γε γυνή σού ἐστιν τί ὅτι εἰ̃πας ἀδελφή μού ἐστιν εἰ̃πεν δὲ αὐτω̨̃ Ισαακ εἰ̃πα γάρ μήποτε ἀποθάνω δι' αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- Et accersito eo, ait : Perspicuum est quod uxor tua sit : cur mentitus es eam sororem tuam esse ? Respondit : Timui ne morerer propter eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃26 ויקרא אבימלך ליצחק ויאמר אך הנה אשתך הוא ואיך אמרת אחתי הוא ויאמר אליו יצחק כי אמרתי פן אמות עליה ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 10

And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.

- Et Abimélec dit: Qu'est-ce que tu nous as fait? Peu s'en est fallu que quelqu'un du peuple n'ait couché avec ta femme, et tu nous aurais rendus coupables. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ αὐτω̨̃ Αβιμελεχ τί του̃το ἐποίησας ἡμι̃ν μικρου̃ ἐκοιμήθη τις του̃ γένους μου μετὰ τη̃ς γυναικός σου καὶ ἐπήγαγες ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς ἄγνοιαν (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque Abimelech : Quare imposuisti nobis ? potuit coire quispiam de populo cum uxore tua, et induxeras super nos grande peccatum. Præcepitque omni populo, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃26 ויאמר אבימלך מה זאת עשית לנו כמעט שכב אחד העם את אשתך והבאת עלינו אשם ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 11

And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.

- Alors Abimélec fit cette ordonnance pour tout le peuple: Celui qui touchera à cet homme ou à sa femme sera mis à mort. (Ⅱ)

- συνέταξεν δὲ Αβιμελεχ παντὶ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ αὐτου̃ λέγων πα̃ς ὁ ἁπτόμενος του̃ ἀνθρώπου τούτου ἢ τη̃ς γυναικὸς αὐτου̃ θανάτου ἔνοχος ἔσται (Ⅲ)

- Qui tetigerit hominis hujus uxorem, morte morietur.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃26 ויצו אבימלך את כל העם לאמר הנגע באיש הזה ובאשתו מות יומת ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 12

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

- Isaac sema dans ce pays, et il recueillit cette année le centuple; car l'Éternel le bénit. (Ⅱ)

- ἔσπειρεν δὲ Ισαακ ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ ἐκείνη̨ καὶ εὑ̃ρεν ἐν τω̨̃ ἐνιαυτω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ ἑκατοστεύουσαν κριθήν εὐλόγησεν δὲ αὐτὸν κύριος (Ⅲ)

- Sevit autem Isaac in terra illa, et invenit in ipso anno centuplum : benedixitque ei Dominus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃26 ויזרע יצחק בארץ ההוא וימצא בשנה ההוא מאה שערים ויברכהו יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 13

And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

- Cet homme devint riche, et il alla s'enrichissant de plus en plus, jusqu'à ce qu'il devint fort riche. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὑψώθη ὁ ἄνθρωπος καὶ προβαίνων μείζων ἐγίνετο ἕως οὑ̃ μέγας ἐγένετο σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- Et locupletatus est homo, et ibat proficiens atque succrescens, donec magnus vehementer effectus est : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃26 ויגדל האיש וילך הלוך וגדל עד כי גדל מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 14

For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

- Il avait des troupeaux de menu bétail et des troupeaux de gros bétail, et un grand nombre de serviteurs: aussi les Philistins lui portèrent envie. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγένετο δὲ αὐτω̨̃ κτήνη προβάτων καὶ κτήνη βοω̃ν καὶ γεώργια πολλά ἐζήλωσαν δὲ αὐτὸν οἱ Φυλιστιιμ (Ⅲ)

- habuit quoque possessiones ovium et armentorum, et familiæ plurimum. Ob hoc invidentes ei Palæstini, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃26 ויהי לו מקנה צאן ומקנה בקר ועבדה רבה ויקנאו אתו פלשתים ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 15

For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.

- Tous les puits qu'avaient creusés les serviteurs de son père, du temps d'Abraham, son père, les Philistins les comblèrent et les remplirent de poussière. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πάντα τὰ φρέατα ἃ ὤρυξαν οἱ παι̃δες του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ ἐν τω̨̃ χρόνω̨ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ ἐνέφραξαν αὐτὰ οἱ Φυλιστιιμ καὶ ἔπλησαν αὐτὰ γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- omnes puteos, quos foderant servi patris illius Abraham, illo tempore obstruxerunt, implentes humo : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃26 וכל הבארת אשר חפרו עבדי אביו בימי אברהם אביו סתמום פלשתים וימלאום עפר ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 16

And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.

- Et Abimélec dit à Isaac: Va-t-en de chez nous, car tu es beaucoup plus puissant que nous. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ Αβιμελεχ πρὸς Ισαακ ἄπελθε ἀφ' ἡμω̃ν ὅτι δυνατώτερος ἡμω̃ν ἐγένου σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- in tantum, ut ipse Abimelech diceret ad Isaac : Recede a nobis, quoniam potentior nobis factus es valde. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃26 ויאמר אבימלך אל יצחק לך מעמנו כי עצמת ממנו מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 17

And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.

- Isaac partit de là, et campa dans la vallée de Guérar, où il s'établit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν ἐκει̃θεν Ισαακ καὶ κατέλυσεν ἐν τη̨̃ φάραγγι Γεραρων καὶ κατώ̨κησεν ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et ille discedens, ut veniret ad torrentem Geraræ, habitaretque ibi, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃26 וילך משם יצחק ויחן בנחל גרר וישב שם ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 18

And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.

- Isaac creusa de nouveau les puits d'eau qu'on avait creusés du temps d'Abraham, son père, et qu'avaient comblés les Philistins après la mort d'Abraham; et il leur donna les mêmes noms que son père leur avait donnés. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πάλιν Ισαακ ὤρυξεν τὰ φρέατα του̃ ὕδατος ἃ ὤρυξαν οἱ παι̃δες Αβρααμ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐνέφραξαν αὐτὰ οἱ Φυλιστιιμ μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανει̃ν Αβρααμ τὸν πατέρα αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπωνόμασεν αὐτοι̃ς ὀνόματα κατὰ τὰ ὀνόματα ἃ ἐπωνόμασεν Αβρααμ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- rursum fodit alios puteos, quos foderant servi patris sui Abraham, et quos, illo mortuo, olim obstruxerant Philisthiim : appellavitque eos eisdem nominibus quibus ante pater vocaverat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃26 וישב יצחק ויחפר את בארת המים אשר חפרו בימי אברהם אביו ויסתמום פלשתים אחרי מות אברהם ויקרא להן שמות כשמת אשר קרא להן אביו ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 19

And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.

- Les serviteurs d'Isaac creusèrent encore dans la vallée, et y trouvèrent un puits d'eau vive. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὤρυξαν οἱ παι̃δες Ισαακ ἐν τη̨̃ φάραγγι Γεραρων καὶ εὑ̃ρον ἐκει̃ φρέαρ ὕδατος ζω̃ντος (Ⅲ)

- Foderuntque in torrente, et repererunt aquam vivam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃26 ויחפרו עבדי יצחק בנחל וימצאו שם באר מים חיים ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 20

And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.

- Les bergers de Guérar querellèrent les bergers d'Isaac, en disant: L'eau est à nous. Et il donna au puits le nom d'Ések, parce qu'ils s'étaient disputés avec lui. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐμαχέσαντο οἱ ποιμένες Γεραρων μετὰ τω̃ν ποιμένων Ισαακ φάσκοντες αὐτω̃ν εἰ̃ναι τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα του̃ φρέατος 'Αδικία ἠδίκησαν γὰρ αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Sed et ibi jurgium fuit pastorum Geraræ adversus pastores Isaac, dicentium : Nostra est aqua, quam ob rem nomen putei ex eo, quod acciderat, vocavit Calumniam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃26 ויריבו רעי גרר עם רעי יצחק לאמר לנו המים ויקרא שם הבאר עשק כי התעשקו עמו ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 21

And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.

- Ses serviteurs creusèrent un autre puits, au sujet duquel on chercha aussi une querelle; et il l'appela Sitna. (Ⅱ)

- ἀπάρας δὲ Ισαακ ἐκει̃θεν ὤρυξεν φρέαρ ἕτερον ἐκρίνοντο δὲ καὶ περὶ ἐκείνου καὶ ἐπωνόμασεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ 'Εχθρία (Ⅲ)

- Foderunt autem et alium : et pro illo quoque rixati sunt, appellavitque eum Inimicitias. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃26 ויחפרו באר אחרת ויריבו גם עליה ויקרא שמה שטנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 22

And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.

- Il se transporta de là, et creusa un autre puits, pour lequel on ne chercha pas querelle; et il l'appela Rehoboth, car, dit-il, l'Éternel nous a maintenant mis au large, et nous prospérerons dans le pays. (Ⅱ)

- ἀπάρας δὲ ἐκει̃θεν ὤρυξεν φρέαρ ἕτερον καὶ οὐκ ἐμαχέσαντο περὶ αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπωνόμασεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ Εὐρυχωρία λέγων διότι νυ̃ν ἐπλάτυνεν κύριος ἡμι̃ν καὶ ηὔξησεν ἡμα̃ς ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Profectus inde fodit alium puteum, pro quo non contenderunt : itaque vocavit nomen ejus Latitudo, dicens : Nunc dilatavit nos Dominus, et fecit crescere super terram.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃26 ויעתק משם ויחפר באר אחרת ולא רבו עליה ויקרא שמה רחבות ויאמר כי עתה הרחיב יהוה לנו ופרינו בארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 23

And he went up from thence to Beersheba.

- Il remonta de là à Beer Schéba. (Ⅱ)

- ἀνέβη δὲ ἐκει̃θεν ἐπὶ τὸ φρέαρ του̃ ὅρκου (Ⅲ)

- Ascendit autem ex illo loco in Bersabee, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃26 ויעל משם באר שבע ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 24

And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.

- L'Éternel lui apparut dans la nuit, et dit: Je suis le Dieu d'Abraham, ton père; ne crains point, car je suis avec toi; je te bénirai, et je multiplierai ta postérité, à cause d'Abraham, mon serviteur. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὤφθη αὐτω̨̃ κύριος ἐν τη̨̃ νυκτὶ ἐκείνη̨ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεὸς Αβρααμ του̃ πατρός σου μὴ φοβου̃ μετὰ σου̃ γάρ εἰμι καὶ ηὐλόγηκά σε καὶ πληθυνω̃ τὸ σπέρμα σου διὰ Αβρααμ τὸν πατέρα σου (Ⅲ)

- ubi apparuit ei Dominus in ipsa nocte, dicens : Ego sum Deus Abraham patris tui : noli timere, quia ego tecum sum : benedicam tibi, et multiplicabo semen tuum propter servum meum Abraham. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃26 וירא אליו יהוה בלילה ההוא ויאמר אנכי אלהי אברהם אביך אל תירא כי אתך אנכי וברכתיך והרביתי את זרעך בעבור אברהם עבדי ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 25

And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well.

- Il bâtit là un autel, invoqua le nom de l'Éternel, et y dressa sa tente. Et les serviteurs d'Isaac y creusèrent un puits. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν ἐκει̃ θυσιαστήριον καὶ ἐπεκαλέσατο τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου καὶ ἔπηξεν ἐκει̃ τὴν σκηνὴν αὐτου̃ ὤρυξαν δὲ ἐκει̃ οἱ παι̃δες Ισαακ φρέαρ (Ⅲ)

- Itaque ædificavit ibi altare : et invocato nomine Domini, extendit tabernaculum, præcepitque servis suis ut foderent puteum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃26 ויבן שם מזבח ויקרא בשם יהוה ויט שם אהלו ויכרו שם עבדי יצחק באר ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 26

Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army.

- Abimélec vint de Guérar auprès de lui, avec Ahuzath, son ami, et Picol, chef de son armée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Αβιμελεχ ἐπορεύθη πρὸς αὐτὸν ἀπὸ Γεραρων καὶ Οχοζαθ ὁ νυμφαγωγὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ Φικολ ὁ ἀρχιστράτηγος τη̃ς δυνάμεως αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Ad quem locum cum venissent de Geraris Abimelech, et Ochozath amicus illius, et Phicol dux militum, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃26 ואבימלך הלך אליו מגרר ואחזת מרעהו ופיכל שר צבאו ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 27

And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?

- Isaac leur dit: Pourquoi venez-vous vers moi, puisque vous me haïssez et que vous m'avez renvoyé de chez vous? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς Ισαακ ἵνα τί ἤλθατε πρός με ὑμει̃ς δὲ ἐμισήσατέ με καὶ ἀπεστείλατέ με ἀφ' ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- locutus est eis Isaac : Quid venistis ad me, hominem quem odistis, et expulistis a vobis ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃26 ויאמר אלהם יצחק מדוע באתם אלי ואתם שנאתם אתי ותשלחוני מאתכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 28

And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;

- Ils répondirent: Nous voyons que l'Éternel est avec toi. C'est pourquoi nous disons: Qu'il y ait un serment entre nous, entre nous et toi, et que nous fassions alliance avec toi! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν ἰδόντες ἑωράκαμεν ὅτι ἠ̃ν κύριος μετὰ σου̃ καὶ εἴπαμεν γενέσθω ἀρὰ ἀνὰ μέσον ἡμω̃ν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον σου̃ καὶ διαθησόμεθα μετὰ σου̃ διαθήκην (Ⅲ)

- Qui responderunt : Vidimus tecum esse Dominum, et idcirco nos diximus : Sit juramentum inter nos, et ineamus fœdus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃26 ויאמרו ראו ראינו כי היה יהוה עמך ונאמר תהי נא אלה בינותינו בינינו ובינך ונכרתה ברית עמך ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 29

That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD.

- Jure que tu ne nous feras aucun mal, de même que nous ne t'avons point maltraité, que nous t'avons fait seulement du bien, et que nous t'avons laissé partir en paix. Tu es maintenant béni de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- μὴ ποιήσειν μεθ' ἡμω̃ν κακόν καθότι ἡμει̃ς σε οὐκ ἐβδελυξάμεθα καὶ ὃν τρόπον ἐχρησάμεθά σοι καλω̃ς καὶ ἐξαπεστείλαμέν σε μετ' εἰρήνης καὶ νυ̃ν σὺ εὐλογητὸς ὑπὸ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- ut non facias nobis quidquam mali, sicut et nos nihil tuorum attigimus, nec fecimus quod te læderet : sed cum pace dimisimus auctum benedictione Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃26 אם תעשה‪[1]‬ עמנו רעה כאשר לא נגענוך וכאשר עשינו עמך רק טוב ונשלחך בשלום אתה עתה ברוך יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 30

And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink.

- Isaac leur fit un festin, et ils mangèrent et burent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτοι̃ς δοχήν καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον (Ⅲ)

- Fecit ergo eis convivium, et post cibum et potum (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃26 ויעש להם משתה ויאכלו וישתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 31

And they rose up betimes in the morning, and sware one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.

- Ils se levèrent de bon matin, et se lièrent l'un à l'autre par un serment. Isaac les laissa partir, et ils le quittèrent en paix. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀναστάντες τὸ πρωὶ ὤμοσαν ἄνθρωπος τω̨̃ πλησίον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς Ισαακ καὶ ἀπώ̨χοντο ἀπ' αὐτου̃ μετὰ σωτηρίας (Ⅲ)

- surgentes mane, juraverunt sibi mutuo : dimisitque eos Isaac pacifice in locum suum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃26 וישכימו בבקר וישבעו איש לאחיו וישלחם יצחק וילכו מאתו בשלום ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 32

And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had digged, and said unto him, We have found water.

- Ce même jour, des serviteurs d'Isaac vinrent lui parler du puits qu'ils creusaient, et lui dirent: Nous avons trouvé de l'eau. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ καὶ παραγενόμενοι οἱ παι̃δες Ισαακ ἀπήγγειλαν αὐτω̨̃ περὶ του̃ φρέατος οὑ̃ ὤρυξαν καὶ εἰ̃παν οὐχ εὕρομεν ὕδωρ (Ⅲ)

- Ecce autem venerunt in ipso die servi Isaac annuntiantes ei de puteo, quem foderant, atque dicentes : Invenimus aquam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃26 ויהי ביום ההוא ויבאו עבדי יצחק ויגדו לו על אדות הבאר אשר חפרו ויאמרו לו מצאנו מים ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 33

And he called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day.

- Et il l'appela Schiba. C'est pourquoi on a donné à la ville le nom de Beer Schéba, jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτὸ 'Όρκος διὰ του̃το ὄνομα τη̨̃ πόλει Φρέαρ ὅρκου ἕως τη̃ς σήμερον ἡμέρας (Ⅲ)

- Unde appellavit eum Abundantiam : et nomen urbi impositum est Bersabee, usque in præsentem diem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃26 ויקרא אתה שבעה על כן שם העיר באר שבע עד היום הזה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 34

And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:

- Ésaü, âgé de quarante ans, prit pour femmes Judith, fille de Beéri, le Héthien, et Basmath, fille d'Élon, le Héthien. (Ⅱ)

- ἠ̃ν δὲ Ησαυ ἐτω̃ν τεσσαράκοντα καὶ ἔλαβεν γυναι̃κα Ιουδιν τὴν θυγατέρα Βεηρ του̃ Χετταίου καὶ τὴν Βασεμμαθ θυγατέρα Αιλων του̃ Ευαίου (Ⅲ)

- Esau vero quadragenarius duxit uxores, Judith filiam Beeri Hethæi, et Basemath filiam Elon ejusdem loci : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃26 ויהי עשו בן ארבעים שנה ויקח אשה את יהודית בת בארי החתי ואת בשמת בת אילן החתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

26. 35

Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.

- Elles furent un sujet d'amertume pour le coeur d'Isaac et de Rebecca. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃σαν ἐρίζουσαι τω̨̃ Ισαακ καὶ τη̨̃ Ρεβεκκα (Ⅲ)

- quæ ambæ offenderant animum Isaac et Rebeccæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃26 ותהיין מרת רוח ליצחק ולרבקה ס‬ (Ⅴ)
