34. 1

And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.

- Dina, la fille que Léa avait enfantée à Jacob, sortit pour voir les filles du pays. (Ⅱ)

- ἐξη̃λθεν δὲ Δινα ἡ θυγάτηρ Λειας ἣν ἔτεκεν τω̨̃ Ιακωβ καταμαθει̃ν τὰς θυγατέρας τω̃ν ἐγχωρίων (Ⅲ)

- Egressa est autem Dina filia Liæ ut videret mulieres regionis illius. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃34 ותצא דינה בת לאה אשר ילדה ליעקב לראות בבנות הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 2

And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.

- Elle fut aperçue de Sichem, fils de Hamor, prince du pays. Il l'enleva, coucha avec elle, et la déshonora. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃δεν αὐτὴν Συχεμ ὁ υἱὸς Εμμωρ ὁ Χορραι̃ος ὁ ἄρχων τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ λαβὼν αὐτὴν ἐκοιμήθη μετ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐταπείνωσεν αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- Quam cum vidisset Sichem filius Hemor Hevæi, princeps terræ illius, adamavit eam : et rapuit, et dormivit cum illa, vi opprimens virginem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃34 וירא אתה שכם בן חמור החוי נשיא הארץ ויקח אתה וישכב אתה ויענה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 3

And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.

- Son coeur s'attacha à Dina, fille de Jacob; il aima la jeune fille, et sut parler à son coeur. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ προσέσχεν τη̨̃ ψυχη̨̃ Δινας τη̃ς θυγατρὸς Ιακωβ καὶ ἠγάπησεν τὴν παρθένον καὶ ἐλάλησεν κατὰ τὴν διάνοιαν τη̃ς παρθένου αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et conglutinata est anima ejus cum ea, tristemque delinivit blanditiis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃34 ותדבק נפשו בדינה בת יעקב ויאהב את הנער וידבר על לב הנער ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 4

And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife.

- Et Sichem dit à Hamor, son père: Donne-moi cette jeune fille pour femme. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ Συχεμ πρὸς Εμμωρ τὸν πατέρα αὐτου̃ λέγων λαβέ μοι τὴν παιδίσκην ταύτην εἰς γυναι̃κα (Ⅲ)

- Et pergens ad Hemor patrem suum : Accipe, inquit, mihi puellam hanc conjugem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃34 ויאמר שכם אל חמור אביו לאמר קח לי את הילדה הזאת לאשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 5

And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come.

- Jacob apprit qu'il avait déshonoré Dina, sa fille; et, comme ses fils étaient aux champs avec son troupeau, Jacob garda le silence jusqu'à leur retour. (Ⅱ)

- Ιακωβ δὲ ἤκουσεν ὅτι ἐμίανεν ὁ υἱὸς Εμμωρ Διναν τὴν θυγατέρα αὐτου̃ οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ αὐτου̃ ἠ̃σαν μετὰ τω̃ν κτηνω̃ν αὐτου̃ ἐν τω̨̃ πεδίω̨ παρεσιώπησεν δὲ Ιακωβ ἕως του̃ ἐλθει̃ν αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Quod cum audisset Jacob absentibus filiis, et in pastu pecorum occupatis, siluit donec redirent.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃34 ויעקב שמע כי טמא את דינה בתו ובניו היו את מקנהו בשדה והחרש יעקב עד באם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 6

And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him.

- Hamor, père de Sichem, se rendit auprès de Jacob pour lui parler. (Ⅱ)

- ἐξη̃λθεν δὲ Εμμωρ ὁ πατὴρ Συχεμ πρὸς Ιακωβ λαλη̃σαι αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Egresso autem Hemor patre Sichem ut loqueretur ad Jacob, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃34 ויצא חמור אבי שכם אל יעקב לדבר אתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 7

And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done.

- Et les fils de Jacob revenaient des champs, lorsqu'ils apprirent la chose; ces hommes furent irrités et se mirent dans une grande colère, parce que Sichem avait commis une infamie en Israël, en couchant avec la fille de Jacob, ce qui n'aurait pas dû se faire. (Ⅱ)

- οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ Ιακωβ ἠ̃λθον ἐκ του̃ πεδίου ὡς δὲ ἤκουσαν κατενύχθησαν οἱ ἄνδρες καὶ λυπηρὸν ἠ̃ν αὐτοι̃ς σφόδρα ὅτι ἄσχημον ἐποίησεν ἐν Ισραηλ κοιμηθεὶς μετὰ τη̃ς θυγατρὸς Ιακωβ καὶ οὐχ οὕτως ἔσται (Ⅲ)

- ecce filii ejus veniebant de agro : auditoque quod acciderat, irati sunt valde, eo quod fœdam rem operatus esset in Israël et, violata filia Jacob, rem illicitam perpetrasset. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃34 ובני יעקב באו מן השדה כשמעם ויתעצבו האנשים ויחר להם מאד כי נבלה עשה בישראל לשכב את בת יעקב וכן לא יעשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 8

And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.

- Hamor leur adressa ainsi la parole: Le coeur de Sichem, mon fils, s'est attaché à votre fille; donnez-la-lui pour femme, je vous prie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐλάλησεν Εμμωρ αὐτοι̃ς λέγων Συχεμ ὁ υἱός μου προείλατο τη̨̃ ψυχη̨̃ τὴν θυγατέρα ὑμω̃ν δότε οὐ̃ν αὐτὴν αὐτω̨̃ γυναι̃κα (Ⅲ)

- Locutus est itaque Hemor ad eos : Sichem filii mei adhæsit anima filiæ vestræ : date eam illi uxorem : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃34 וידבר חמור אתם לאמר שכם בני חשקה נפשו בבתכם תנו נא אתה לו לאשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 9

And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.

- Alliez-vous avec nous; vous nous donnerez vos filles, et vous prendrez pour vous les nôtres. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπιγαμβρεύσασθε ἡμι̃ν τὰς θυγατέρας ὑμω̃ν δότε ἡμι̃ν καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας ἡμω̃ν λάβετε τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- et jungamus vicissim connubia : filias vestras tradite nobis, et filias nostras accipite, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃34 והתחתנו אתנו בנתיכם תתנו לנו ואת בנתינו תקחו לכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 10

And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein.

- Vous habiterez avec nous, et le pays sera à votre disposition; restez, pour y trafiquer et y acquérir des propriétés. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν ἡμι̃ν κατοικει̃τε καὶ ἡ γη̃ ἰδοὺ πλατει̃α ἐναντίον ὑμω̃ν κατοικει̃τε καὶ ἐμπορεύεσθε ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐγκτήσασθε ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- et habitate nobiscum : terra in potestate vestra est : exercete, negotiamini, et possidete eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃34 ואתנו תשבו והארץ תהיה לפניכם שבו וסחרוה והאחזו בה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 11

And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.

- Sichem dit au père et aux frères de Dina: Que je trouve grâce à vos yeux, et je donnerai ce que vous me direz. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ Συχεμ πρὸς τὸν πατέρα αὐτη̃ς καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτη̃ς εὕροιμι χάριν ἐναντίον ὑμω̃ν καὶ ὃ ἐὰν εἴπητε δώσομεν (Ⅲ)

- Sed et Sichem ad patrem et ad fratres ejus ait : Inveniam gratiam coram vobis : et quæcumque statueritis, dabo : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃34 ויאמר שכם אל אביה‪[1]‬ ואל אחיה אמצא חן בעיניכם ואשר תאמרו אלי אתן ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 12

Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.

- Exigez de moi une forte dot et beaucoup de présents, et je donnerai ce que vous me direz; mais accordez-moi pour femme la jeune fille. (Ⅱ)

- πληθύνατε τὴν φερνὴν σφόδρα καὶ δώσω καθότι ἂν εἴπητέ μοι καὶ δώσετέ μοι τὴν παι̃δα ταύτην εἰς γυναι̃κα (Ⅲ)

- augete dotem, et munera postulate, et libenter tribuam quod petieritis : tantum date mihi puellam hanc uxorem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃34 הרבו עלי מאד מהר ומתן ואתנה כאשר תאמרו אלי ותנו לי את הנער לאשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 13

And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:

- Les fils de Jacob répondirent et parlèrent avec ruse à Sichem et à Hamor, son père, parce que Sichem avait déshonoré Dina, leur soeur. (Ⅱ)

- ἀπεκρίθησαν δὲ οἱ υἱοὶ Ιακωβ τω̨̃ Συχεμ καὶ Εμμωρ τω̨̃ πατρὶ αὐτου̃ μετὰ δόλου καὶ ἐλάλησαν αὐτοι̃ς ὅτι ἐμίαναν Διναν τὴν ἀδελφὴν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Responderunt filii Jacob Sichem et patri ejus in dolo, sævientes ob stuprum sororis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃34 ויענו בני יעקב את שכם ואת חמור אביו במרמה וידברו אשר טמא את דינה אחתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 14

And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:

- Ils leur dirent: C'est une chose que nous ne pouvons pas faire, que de donner notre soeur à un homme incirconcis; car ce serait un opprobre pour nous. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν αὐτοι̃ς Συμεων καὶ Λευι οἱ ἀδελφοὶ Δινας υἱοὶ δὲ Λειας οὐ δυνησόμεθα ποιη̃σαι τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το δου̃ναι τὴν ἀδελφὴν ἡμω̃ν ἀνθρώπω̨ ὃς ἔχει ἀκροβυστίαν ἔστιν γὰρ ὄνειδος ἡμι̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Non possumus facere quod petitis, nec dare sororem nostram homini incircumciso : quod illicitum et nefarium est apud nos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃34 ויאמרו אליהם לא נוכל לעשות הדבר הזה לתת את אחתנו לאיש אשר לו ערלה כי חרפה הוא לנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 15

But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;

- Nous ne consentirons à votre désir qu'à la condition que vous deveniez comme nous, et que tout mâle parmi vous soit circoncis. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν τούτω̨ ὁμοιωθησόμεθα ὑμι̃ν καὶ κατοικήσομεν ἐν ὑμι̃ν ἐὰν γένησθε ὡς ἡμει̃ς καὶ ὑμει̃ς ἐν τω̨̃ περιτμηθη̃ναι ὑμω̃ν πα̃ν ἀρσενικόν (Ⅲ)

- Sed in hoc valebimus fœderari, si volueritis esse similes nostri, et circumcidatur in vobis omne masculini sexus ; (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃34 אך בזאת נאות לכם אם תהיו כמנו להמל לכם כל זכר ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 16

Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.

- Nous vous donnerons alors nos filles, et nous prendrons pour nous les vôtres; nous habiterons avec vous, et nous formerons un seul peuple. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ δώσομεν τὰς θυγατέρας ἡμω̃ν ὑμι̃ν καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν θυγατέρων ὑμω̃ν λημψόμεθα ἡμι̃ν γυναι̃κας καὶ οἰκήσομεν παρ' ὑμι̃ν καὶ ἐσόμεθα ὡς γένος ἕν (Ⅲ)

- tunc dabimus et accipiemus mutuo filias vestras ac nostras : et habitabimus vobiscum, erimusque unus populus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃34 ונתנו את בנתינו לכם ואת בנתיכם נקח לנו וישבנו אתכם והיינו לעם אחד ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 17

But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.

- Mais si vous ne voulez pas nous écouter et vous faire circoncire, nous prendrons notre fille, et nous nous en irons. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ μὴ εἰσακούσητε ἡμω̃ν του̃ περιτέμνεσθαι λαβόντες τὰς θυγατέρας ἡμω̃ν ἀπελευσόμεθα (Ⅲ)

- Si autem circumcidi nolueritis, tollemus filiam nostram, et recedemus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃34 ואם לא תשמעו אלינו להמול ולקחנו את בתנו והלכנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 18

And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son.

- Leurs paroles eurent l'assentiment de Hamor et de Sichem, fils de Hamor. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤρεσαν οἱ λόγοι ἐναντίον Εμμωρ καὶ ἐναντίον Συχεμ του̃ υἱου̃ Εμμωρ (Ⅲ)

- Placuit oblatio eorum Hemor, et Sichem filio ejus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃34 וייטבו דבריהם בעיני חמור ובעיני שכם בן חמור ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 19

And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter: and he was more honorable than all the house of his father.

- Le jeune homme ne tarda pas à faire la chose, car il aimait la fille de Jacob. Il était considéré de tous dans la maison de son père. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἐχρόνισεν ὁ νεανίσκος του̃ ποιη̃σαι τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το ἐνέκειτο γὰρ τη̨̃ θυγατρὶ Ιακωβ αὐτὸς δὲ ἠ̃ν ἐνδοξότατος πάντων τω̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- nec distulit adolescens quin statim quod petebatur expleret : amabat enim puellam valde, et ipse erat inclytus in omni domo patris sui. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃34 ולא אחר הנער לעשות הדבר כי חפץ בבת יעקב והוא נכבד מכל בית אביו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 20

And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,

- Hamor et Sichem, son fils, se rendirent à la porte de leur ville, et ils parlèrent ainsi aux gens de leur ville: (Ⅱ)

- ἠ̃λθεν δὲ Εμμωρ καὶ Συχεμ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτου̃ πρὸς τὴν πύλην τη̃ς πόλεως αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐλάλησαν πρὸς τοὺς ἄνδρας τη̃ς πόλεως αὐτω̃ν λέγοντες (Ⅲ)

- Ingressique portam urbis, locuti sunt ad populum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃34 ויבא חמור ושכם בנו אל שער עירם וידברו אל אנשי עירם לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 21

These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.

- Ces hommes sont paisibles à notre égard; qu'ils restent dans le pays, et qu'ils y trafiquent; le pays est assez vaste pour eux. Nous prendrons pour femmes leurs filles, et nous leur donnerons nos filles. (Ⅱ)

- οἱ ἄνθρωποι οὑ̃τοι εἰρηνικοί εἰσιν μεθ' ἡμω̃ν οἰκείτωσαν ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἐμπορευέσθωσαν αὐτήν ἡ δὲ γη̃ ἰδοὺ πλατει̃α ἐναντίον αὐτω̃ν τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτω̃ν λημψόμεθα ἡμι̃ν γυναι̃κας καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας ἡμω̃ν δώσομεν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Viri isti pacifici sunt, et volunt habitare nobiscum : negotientur in terra, et exerceant eam, quæ spatiosa et lata cultoribus indiget : filias eorum accipiemus uxores, et nostras illis dabimus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃34 האנשים האלה שלמים הם אתנו וישבו בארץ ויסחרו אתה והארץ הנה רחבת ידים לפניהם את בנתם נקח לנו לנשים ואת בנתינו נתן להם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 22

Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.

- Mais ces hommes ne consentiront à habiter avec nous, pour former un seul peuple, qu'à la condition que tout mâle parmi nous soit circoncis, comme ils sont eux-mêmes circoncis. (Ⅱ)

- μόνον ἐν τούτω̨ ὁμοιωθήσονται ἡμι̃ν οἱ ἄνθρωποι του̃ κατοικει̃ν μεθ' ἡμω̃ν ὥστε εἰ̃ναι λαὸν ἕνα ἐν τω̨̃ περιτέμνεσθαι ἡμω̃ν πα̃ν ἀρσενικόν καθὰ καὶ αὐτοὶ περιτέτμηνται (Ⅲ)

- Unum est quo differtur tantum bonum : si circumcidamus masculos nostros, ritum gentis imitantes. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃34 אך בזאת יאתו לנו האנשים לשבת אתנו להיות לעם אחד בהמול לנו כל זכר כאשר הם נמלים ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 23

Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of theirs be ours? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.

- Leurs troupeaux, leurs biens et tout leur bétail, ne seront-ils pas à nous? Acceptons seulement leur condition, pour qu'ils restent avec nous. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὰ κτήνη αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὰ τετράποδα οὐχ ἡμω̃ν ἔσται μόνον ἐν τούτω̨ ὁμοιωθω̃μεν αὐτοι̃ς καὶ οἰκήσουσιν μεθ' ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et substantia eorum, et pecora, et cuncta quæ possident, nostra erunt : tantum in hoc acquiescamus, et habitantes simul, unum efficiemus populum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃34 מקנהם וקנינם וכל בהמתם הלוא לנו הם אך נאותה להם וישבו אתנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 24

And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city.

- Tous ceux qui étaient venus à la porte de la ville écoutèrent Hamor et Sichem, son fils; et tous les mâles se firent circoncire, tous ceux qui étaient venus à la porte de la ville. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσήκουσαν Εμμωρ καὶ Συχεμ του̃ υἱου̃ αὐτου̃ πάντες οἱ ἐκπορευόμενοι τὴν πύλην τη̃ς πόλεως αὐτω̃ν καὶ περιετέμοντο τὴν σάρκα τη̃ς ἀκροβυστίας αὐτω̃ν πα̃ς ἄρσην (Ⅲ)

- Assensique sunt omnes, circumcisis cunctis maribus.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃34 וישמעו אל חמור ואל שכם בנו כל יצאי שער עירו וימלו כל זכר כל יצאי שער עירו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 25

And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.

- Le troisième jour, pendant qu'ils étaient souffrants, les deux fils de Jacob, Siméon et Lévi, frères de Dina, prirent chacun leur épée, tombèrent sur la ville qui se croyait en sécurité, et tuèrent tous les mâles. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ τρίτη̨ ὅτε ἠ̃σαν ἐν τω̨̃ πόνω̨ ἔλαβον οἱ δύο υἱοὶ Ιακωβ Συμεων καὶ Λευι οἱ ἀδελφοὶ Δινας ἕκαστος τὴν μάχαιραν αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰση̃λθον εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἀσφαλω̃ς καὶ ἀπέκτειναν πα̃ν ἀρσενικόν (Ⅲ)

- Et ecce, die tertio, quando gravissimus vulnerum dolor est : arreptis duo filii Jacob, Simeon et Levi fratres Dinæ, gladiis, ingressi sunt urbem confidenter : interfectisque omnibus masculis, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃34 ויהי ביום השלישי בהיותם כאבים ויקחו שני בני יעקב שמעון ולוי אחי דינה איש חרבו ויבאו על העיר בטח ויהרגו כל זכר ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 26

And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out.

- Ils passèrent aussi au fil de l'épée Hamor et Sichem, son fils; ils enlevèrent Dina de la maison de Sichem, et sortirent. (Ⅱ)

- τόν τε Εμμωρ καὶ Συχεμ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτου̃ ἀπέκτειναν ἐν στόματι μαχαίρας καὶ ἔλαβον τὴν Διναν ἐκ του̃ οἴκου του̃ Συχεμ καὶ ἐξη̃λθον (Ⅲ)

- Hemor et Sichem pariter necaverunt, tollentes Dinam de domo Sichem sororem suam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃34 ואת חמור ואת שכם בנו הרגו לפי חרב ויקחו את דינה מבית שכם ויצאו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 27

The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.

- Les fils de Jacob se jetèrent sur les morts, et pillèrent la ville, parce qu'on avait déshonoré leur soeur. (Ⅱ)

- οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ Ιακωβ εἰση̃λθον ἐπὶ τοὺς τραυματίας καὶ διήρπασαν τὴν πόλιν ἐν ἡ̨̃ ἐμίαναν Διναν τὴν ἀδελφὴν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Quibus egressis, irruerunt super occisos ceteri filii Jacob : et depopulati sunt urbem in ultionem stupri. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃34 בני יעקב באו על החללים ויבזו העיר אשר טמאו אחותם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 28

They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field,

- Ils prirent leurs troupeaux, leurs boeufs et leurs ânes, ce qui était dans la ville et ce qui était dans les champs; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὰ πρόβατα αὐτω̃ν καὶ τοὺς βόας αὐτω̃ν καὶ τοὺς ὄνους αὐτω̃ν ὅσα τε ἠ̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ πόλει καὶ ὅσα ἠ̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ πεδίω̨ ἔλαβον (Ⅲ)

- Oves eorum, et armenta, et asinos, cunctaque vastantes quæ in domibus et in agris erant, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃34 את צאנם ואת בקרם ואת חמריהם‪[1]‬ ואת אשר בעיר ואת אשר בשדה לקחו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 29

And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.

- ils emmenèrent comme butin toutes leurs richesses, leurs enfants et leurs femmes, et tout ce qui se trouvait dans les maisons. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πάντα τὰ σώματα αὐτω̃ν καὶ πα̃σαν τὴν ἀποσκευὴν αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὰς γυναι̃κας αὐτω̃ν ἠ̨χμαλώτευσαν καὶ διήρπασαν ὅσα τε ἠ̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ πόλει καὶ ὅσα ἠ̃ν ἐν ται̃ς οἰκίαις (Ⅲ)

- parvulos quoque eorum et uxores duxerunt captivas. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃34 ואת כל חילם ואת כל טפם ואת נשיהם שבו ויבזו ואת כל אשר בבית ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 30

And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.

- Alors Jacob dit à Siméon et à Lévi: Vous me troublez, en me rendant odieux aux habitants du pays, aux Cananéens et aux Phérésiens. Je n'ai qu'un petit nombre d'hommes; et ils se rassembleront contre moi, ils me frapperont, et je serai détruit, moi et ma maison. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ Ιακωβ Συμεων καὶ Λευι μισητόν με πεποιήκατε ὥστε πονηρόν με εἰ̃ναι πα̃σιν τοι̃ς κατοικου̃σιν τὴν γη̃ν ἔν τε τοι̃ς Χαναναίοις καὶ τοι̃ς Φερεζαίοις ἐγὼ δὲ ὀλιγοστός εἰμι ἐν ἀριθμω̨̃ καὶ συναχθέντες ἐπ' ἐμὲ συγκόψουσίν με καὶ ἐκτριβήσομαι ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ οἰ̃κός μου (Ⅲ)

- Quibus patratis audacter, Jacob dixit ad Simeon et Levi : Turbastis me, et odiosum fecistis me Chananæis, et Pherezæis habitatoribus terræ hujus : nos pauci sumus ; illi congregati percutient me, et delebor ego, et domus mea. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃34 ויאמר יעקב אל שמעון ואל לוי עכרתם אתי להבאישני בישב הארץ בכנעני ובפרזי ואני מתי מספר ונאספו עלי והכוני ונשמדתי אני וביתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 31

And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?

- Ils répondirent: Traitera-t-on notre soeur comme une prostituée? (Ⅱ)

- οἱ δὲ εἰ̃παν ἀλλ' ὡσεὶ πόρνη̨ χρήσωνται τη̨̃ ἀδελφη̨̃ ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Responderunt : Numquid ut scorto abuti debuere sorore nostra ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃34 ויאמרו הכזונה יעשה את אחותנו פ‬ (Ⅴ)
