41. 1

And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.

- Au bout de deux ans, Pharaon eut un songe. Voici, il se tenait près du fleuve. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγένετο δὲ μετὰ δύο ἔτη ἡμερω̃ν Φαραω εἰ̃δεν ἐνύπνιον ὤ̨ετο ἑστάναι ἐπὶ του̃ ποταμου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Post duos annos vidit Pharao somnium. Putabat se stare super fluvium, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃41 ויהי מקץ שנתים ימים ופרעה חלם והנה עמד על היאר ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 2

And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favored kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.

- Et voici, sept vaches belles à voir et grasses de chair montèrent hors du fleuve, et se mirent à paître dans la prairie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἰδοὺ ὥσπερ ἐκ του̃ ποταμου̃ ἀνέβαινον ἑπτὰ βόες καλαὶ τω̨̃ εἴδει καὶ ἐκλεκταὶ ται̃ς σαρξὶν καὶ ἐβόσκοντο ἐν τω̨̃ ἄχει (Ⅲ)

- de quo ascendebant septem boves, pulchræ et crassæ nimis : et pascebantur in locis palustribus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃41 והנה מן היאר עלת שבע פרות יפות מראה ובריאת בשר ותרעינה באחו ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 3

And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favored and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river.

- Sept autres vaches laides à voir et maigres de chair montèrent derrière elles hors du fleuve, et se tinrent à leurs côtés sur le bord du fleuve. (Ⅱ)

- ἄλλαι δὲ ἑπτὰ βόες ἀνέβαινον μετὰ ταύτας ἐκ του̃ ποταμου̃ αἰσχραὶ τω̨̃ εἴδει καὶ λεπταὶ ται̃ς σαρξὶν καὶ ἐνέμοντο παρὰ τὰς βόας παρὰ τὸ χει̃λος του̃ ποταμου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Aliæ quoque septem emergebant de flumine, fœdæ confectæque macie : et pascebantur in ipsa amnis ripa in locis virentibus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃41 והנה שבע פרות אחרות עלות אחריהן מן היאר רעות מראה ודקות בשר ותעמדנה אצל הפרות על שפת היאר ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 4

And the ill favored and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favored and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.

- Les vaches laides à voir et maigres de chair mangèrent les sept vaches belles à voir et grasses de chair. Et Pharaon s'éveilla. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέφαγον αἱ ἑπτὰ βόες αἱ αἰσχραὶ καὶ λεπταὶ ται̃ς σαρξὶν τὰς ἑπτὰ βόας τὰς καλὰς τω̨̃ εἴδει καὶ τὰς ἐκλεκτάς ἠγέρθη δὲ Φαραω (Ⅲ)

- devoraveruntque eas, quarum mira species et habitudo corporum erat. Expergefactus Pharao, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃41 ותאכלנה הפרות רעות המראה ודקת הבשר את שבע הפרות יפת המראה והבריאת וייקץ פרעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 5

And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.

- Il se rendormit, et il eut un second songe. Voici, sept épis gras et beaux montèrent sur une même tige. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνυπνιάσθη τὸ δεύτερον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἑπτὰ στάχυες ἀνέβαινον ἐν πυθμένι ἑνὶ ἐκλεκτοὶ καὶ καλοί (Ⅲ)

- rursum dormivit, et vidit alterum somnium : septem spicæ pullulabant in culmo uno plenæ atque formosæ : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃41 ויישן ויחלם שנית והנה שבע שבלים עלות בקנה אחד בריאות וטבות ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 6

And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.

- Et sept épis maigres et brûlés par le vent d'orient poussèrent après eux. (Ⅱ)

- ἄλλοι δὲ ἑπτὰ στάχυες λεπτοὶ καὶ ἀνεμόφθοροι ἀνεφύοντο μετ' αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- aliæ quoque totidem spicæ tenues, et percussæ uredine oriebantur, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃41 והנה שבע שבלים דקות ושדופת קדים צמחות אחריהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 7

And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.

- Les épis maigres engloutirent les sept épis gras et pleins. Et Pharaon s'éveilla. Voilà le songe. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέπιον οἱ ἑπτὰ στάχυες οἱ λεπτοὶ καὶ ἀνεμόφθοροι τοὺς ἑπτὰ στάχυας τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς καὶ τοὺς πλήρεις ἠγέρθη δὲ Φαραω καὶ ἠ̃ν ἐνύπνιον (Ⅲ)

- devorantes omnium priorum pulchritudinem. Evigilans Pharao post quietem, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃41 ותבלענה השבלים הדקות את שבע השבלים הבריאות והמלאות וייקץ פרעה והנה חלום ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 8

And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.

- Le matin, Pharaon eut l'esprit agité, et il fit appeler tous les magiciens et tous les sages de l'Égypte. Il leur raconta ses songes. Mais personne ne put les expliquer à Pharaon. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγένετο δὲ πρωὶ καὶ ἐταράχθη ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀποστείλας ἐκάλεσεν πάντας τοὺς ἐξηγητὰς Αἰγύπτου καὶ πάντας τοὺς σοφοὺς αὐτη̃ς καὶ διηγήσατο αὐτοι̃ς Φαραω τὸ ἐνύπνιον καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ὁ ἀπαγγέλλων αὐτὸ τω̨̃ Φαραω (Ⅲ)

- et facto mane, pavore perterritus, misit ad omnes conjectores Ægypti, cunctosque sapientes, et accersitis narravit somnium, nec erat qui interpretaretur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃41 ויהי בבקר ותפעם רוחו וישלח ויקרא את כל חרטמי מצרים ואת כל חכמיה ויספר פרעה להם את חלמו ואין פותר אותם לפרעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 9

Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:

- Alors le chef des échansons prit la parole, et dit à Pharaon: Je vais rappeler aujourd'hui le souvenir de ma faute. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐλάλησεν ὁ ἀρχιοινοχόος πρὸς Φαραω λέγων τὴν ἁμαρτίαν μου ἀναμιμνή̨σκω σήμερον (Ⅲ)

- Tunc demum reminiscens pincernarum magister, ait : Confiteor peccatum meum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃41 וידבר שר המשקים את פרעה לאמר את חטאי אני מזכיר היום ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 10

Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard's house, both me and the chief baker:

- Pharaon s'était irrité contre ses serviteurs; et il m'avait fait mettre en prison dans la maison du chef des gardes, moi et le chef des panetiers. (Ⅱ)

- Φαραω ὠργίσθη τοι̃ς παισὶν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔθετο ἡμα̃ς ἐν φυλακη̨̃ ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ του̃ ἀρχιμαγείρου ἐμέ τε καὶ τὸν ἀρχισιτοποιόν (Ⅲ)

- iratus rex servis suis, me et magistrum pistorum retrudi jussit in carcerem principis militum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃41 פרעה קצף על עבדיו ויתן אתי במשמר בית שר הטבחים אתי ואת שר האפים ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 11

And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.

- Nous eûmes l'un et l'autre un songe dans une même nuit; et chacun de nous reçut une explication en rapport avec le songe qu'il avait eu. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἴδομεν ἐνύπνιον ἐν νυκτὶ μια̨̃ ἐγώ τε καὶ αὐτός ἕκαστος κατὰ τὸ αὑτου̃ ἐνύπνιον εἴδομεν (Ⅲ)

- ubi una nocte uterque vidimus somnium præsagum futurorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃41 ונחלמה חלום בלילה אחד אני והוא איש כפתרון חלמו חלמנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 12

And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.

- Il y avait là avec nous un jeune Hébreu, esclave du chef des gardes. Nous lui racontâmes nos songes, et il nous les expliqua. (Ⅱ)

- ἠ̃ν δὲ ἐκει̃ μεθ' ἡμω̃ν νεανίσκος παι̃ς Εβραι̃ος του̃ ἀρχιμαγείρου καὶ διηγησάμεθα αὐτω̨̃ καὶ συνέκρινεν ἡμι̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Erat ibi puer hebræus, ejusdem ducis militum famulus : cui narrantes somnia, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃41 ושם אתנו נער עברי עבד לשר הטבחים ונספר לו‪[1]‬ ויפתר לנו את חלמתינו איש כחלמו פתר ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 13

And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.

- Les choses sont arrivées selon l'explication qu'il nous avait donnée. Pharaon me rétablit dans ma charge, et il fit pendre le chef des panetiers. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγενήθη δὲ καθὼς συνέκρινεν ἡμι̃ν οὕτως καὶ συνέβη ἐμέ τε ἀποκατασταθη̃ναι ἐπὶ τὴν ἀρχήν μου ἐκει̃νον δὲ κρεμασθη̃ναι (Ⅲ)

- audivimus quidquid postea rei probavit eventus ; ego enim redditus sum officio meo, et ille suspensus est in cruce. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃41 ויהי כאשר פתר לנו כן היה אתי השיב על כני ואתו תלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 14

Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.

- Pharaon fit appeler Joseph. On le fit sortir en hâte de prison. Il se rasa, changea de vêtements, et se rendit vers Pharaon. (Ⅱ)

- ἀποστείλας δὲ Φαραω ἐκάλεσεν τὸν Ιωσηφ καὶ ἐξήγαγον αὐτὸν ἐκ του̃ ὀχυρώματος καὶ ἐξύρησαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἤλλαξαν τὴν στολὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἠ̃λθεν πρὸς Φαραω (Ⅲ)

- Protinus ad regis imperium eductum de carcere Joseph totonderunt : ac veste mutata obtulerunt ei. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃41 וישלח פרעה ויקרא את יוסף ויריצהו מן הבור ויגלח ויחלף שמלתיו ויבא אל פרעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 15

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.

- Pharaon dit à Joseph: J'ai eu un songe. Personne ne peut l'expliquer; et j'ai appris que tu expliques un songe, après l'avoir entendu. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ Φαραω τω̨̃ Ιωσηφ ἐνύπνιον ἑώρακα καὶ ὁ συγκρίνων οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτό ἐγὼ δὲ ἀκήκοα περὶ σου̃ λεγόντων ἀκούσαντά σε ἐνύπνια συγκρι̃ναι αὐτά (Ⅲ)

- Cui ille ait : Vidi somnia, nec est qui edisserat : quæ audivi te sapientissime conjicere. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃41 ויאמר פרעה אל יוסף חלום חלמתי ופתר אין אתו ואני שמעתי עליך לאמר תשמע חלום לפתר אתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 16

And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

- Joseph répondit à Pharaon, en disant: Ce n'est pas moi! c'est Dieu qui donnera une réponse favorable à Pharaon. (Ⅱ)

- ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Ιωσηφ τω̨̃ Φαραω εἰ̃πεν ἄνευ του̃ θεου̃ οὐκ ἀποκριθήσεται τὸ σωτήριον Φαραω (Ⅲ)

- Respondit Joseph : Absque me Deus respondebit prospera Pharaoni. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃41 ויען יוסף את פרעה לאמר בלעדי אלהים יענה את שלום פרעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 17

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:

- Pharaon dit alors à Joseph: Dans mon songe, voici, je me tenais sur le bord du fleuve. (Ⅱ)

- ἐλάλησεν δὲ Φαραω τω̨̃ Ιωσηφ λέγων ἐν τω̨̃ ὕπνω̨ μου ὤ̨μην ἑστάναι παρὰ τὸ χει̃λος του̃ ποταμου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Narravit ergo Pharao quod viderat : Putabam me stare super ripam fluminis, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃41 וידבר פרעה אל יוסף בחלמי הנני עמד על שפת היאר ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 18

And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favored; and they fed in a meadow:

- Et voici, sept vaches grasses de chair et belles d'apparence montèrent hors du fleuve, et se mirent à paître dans la prairie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὥσπερ ἐκ του̃ ποταμου̃ ἀνέβαινον ἑπτὰ βόες καλαὶ τω̨̃ εἴδει καὶ ἐκλεκταὶ ται̃ς σαρξὶν καὶ ἐνέμοντο ἐν τω̨̃ ἄχει (Ⅲ)

- et septem boves de amne conscendere, pulchras nimis, et obesis carnibus : quæ in pastu paludis virecta carpebant. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃41 והנה מן היאר עלת שבע פרות בריאות בשר ויפת תאר ותרעינה באחו ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 19

And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favored and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:

- Sept autres vaches montèrent derrière elles, maigres, fort laides d'apparence, et décharnées: je n'en ai point vu d'aussi laides dans tout le pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἰδοὺ ἑπτὰ βόες ἕτεραι ἀνέβαινον ὀπίσω αὐτω̃ν ἐκ του̃ ποταμου̃ πονηραὶ καὶ αἰσχραὶ τω̨̃ εἴδει καὶ λεπταὶ ται̃ς σαρξίν οἵας οὐκ εἰ̃δον τοιαύτας ἐν ὅλη̨ γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτω̨ αἰσχροτέρας (Ⅲ)

- Et ecce, has sequebantur aliæ septem boves, in tantum deformes et macilentæ, ut numquam tales in terra Ægypti viderim : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃41 והנה שבע פרות אחרות עלות אחריהן דלות ורעות תאר מאד ורקות בשר לא ראיתי כהנה בכל ארץ מצרים לרע ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 20

And the lean and the ill favored kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:

- Les vaches décharnées et laides mangèrent les sept premières vaches qui étaient grasses. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέφαγον αἱ ἑπτὰ βόες αἱ αἰσχραὶ καὶ λεπταὶ τὰς ἑπτὰ βόας τὰς πρώτας τὰς καλὰς καὶ ἐκλεκτάς (Ⅲ)

- quæ, devoratis et consumptis prioribus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃41 ותאכלנה הפרות הרקות והרעות את שבע הפרות הראשנות הבריאת ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 21

And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favored, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

- Elles les engloutirent dans leur ventre, sans qu'on s'aperçût qu'elles y fussent entrées; et leur apparence était laide comme auparavant. Et je m'éveillai. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθον εἰς τὰς κοιλίας αὐτω̃ν καὶ οὐ διάδηλοι ἐγένοντο ὅτι εἰση̃λθον εἰς τὰς κοιλίας αὐτω̃ν καὶ αἱ ὄψεις αὐτω̃ν αἰσχραὶ καθὰ καὶ τὴν ἀρχήν ἐξεγερθεὶς δὲ ἐκοιμήθην (Ⅲ)

- nullum saturitatis dedere vestigium : sed simili macie et squalore torpebant. Evigilans, rursus sopore depressus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃41 ותבאנה אל קרבנה ולא נודע כי באו אל קרבנה ומראיהן רע כאשר בתחלה ואיקץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 22

And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:

- Je vis encore en songe sept épis pleins et beaux, qui montèrent sur une même tige. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃δον πάλιν ἐν τω̨̃ ὕπνω̨ μου καὶ ὥσπερ ἑπτὰ στάχυες ἀνέβαινον ἐν πυθμένι ἑνὶ πλήρεις καὶ καλοί (Ⅲ)

- vidi somnium. Septem spicæ pullulabant in culmo uno plenæ atque pulcherrimæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃41 וארא בחלמי והנה שבע שבלים עלת בקנה אחד מלאת וטבות ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 23

And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:

- Et sept épis vides, maigres, brûlés par le vent d'orient, poussèrent après eux. (Ⅱ)

- ἄλλοι δὲ ἑπτὰ στάχυες λεπτοὶ καὶ ἀνεμόφθοροι ἀνεφύοντο ἐχόμενοι αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Aliæ quoque septem tenues et percussæ uredine, oriebantur e stipula : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃41 והנה שבע שבלים צנמות דקות שדפות קדים צמחות אחריהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 24

And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.

- Les épis maigres engloutirent les sept beaux épis. Je l'ai dit aux magiciens, mais personne ne m'a donné l'explication. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέπιον οἱ ἑπτὰ στάχυες οἱ λεπτοὶ καὶ ἀνεμόφθοροι τοὺς ἑπτὰ στάχυας τοὺς καλοὺς καὶ τοὺς πλήρεις εἰ̃πα οὐ̃ν τοι̃ς ἐξηγηται̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ὁ ἀπαγγέλλων μοι (Ⅲ)

- quæ priorum pulchritudinem devoraverunt. Narravi conjectoribus somnium, et nemo est qui edisserat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃41 ותבלען השבלים‪[1]‬ הדקת את שבע השבלים הטבות ואמר אל החרטמים ואין מגיד לי ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 25

And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath showed Pharaoh what he is about to do.

- Joseph dit à Pharaon: Ce qu'a songé Pharaon est une seule chose; Dieu a fait connaître à Pharaon ce qu'il va faire. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωσηφ τω̨̃ Φαραω τὸ ἐνύπνιον Φαραω ἕν ἐστιν ὅσα ὁ θεὸς ποιει̃ ἔδειξεν τω̨̃ Φαραω (Ⅲ)

- Respondit Joseph : Somnium regis unum est : quæ facturus est Deus, ostendit Pharaoni. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃41 ויאמר יוסף אל פרעה חלום פרעה אחד הוא את אשר האלהים עשה הגיד לפרעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 26

The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.

- Les sept vaches belles sont sept années: et les sept épis beaux sont sept années: c'est un seul songe. (Ⅱ)

- αἱ ἑπτὰ βόες αἱ καλαὶ ἑπτὰ ἔτη ἐστίν καὶ οἱ ἑπτὰ στάχυες οἱ καλοὶ ἑπτὰ ἔτη ἐστίν τὸ ἐνύπνιον Φαραω ἕν ἐστιν (Ⅲ)

- Septem boves pulchræ, et septem spicæ plenæ, septem ubertatis anni sunt : eamdemque vim somnii comprehendunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃41 שבע פרת הטבת שבע שנים הנה ושבע השבלים הטבת שבע שנים הנה חלום אחד הוא ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 27

And the seven thin and ill favored kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

- Les sept vaches décharnées et laides, qui montaient derrière les premières, sont sept années; et les sept épis vides, brûlés par le vent d'orient, seront sept années de famine. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ αἱ ἑπτὰ βόες αἱ λεπταὶ αἱ ἀναβαίνουσαι ὀπίσω αὐτω̃ν ἑπτὰ ἔτη ἐστίν καὶ οἱ ἑπτὰ στάχυες οἱ λεπτοὶ καὶ ἀνεμόφθοροι ἔσονται ἑπτὰ ἔτη λιμου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Septem quoque boves tenues atque macilentæ, quæ ascenderunt post eas, et septem spicæ tenues, et vento urente percussæ, septem anni venturæ sunt famis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃41 ושבע הפרות הרקות והרעת העלת אחריהן שבע שנים הנה ושבע השבלים הרקות שדפות הקדים יהיו שבע שני רעב ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 28

This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he showeth unto Pharaoh.

- Ainsi, comme je viens de le dire à Pharaon, Dieu a fait connaître à Pharaon ce qu'il va faire. (Ⅱ)

- τὸ δὲ ῥη̃μα ὃ εἴρηκα Φαραω ὅσα ὁ θεὸς ποιει̃ ἔδειξεν τω̨̃ Φαραω (Ⅲ)

- Qui hoc ordine complebuntur : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃41 הוא הדבר אשר דברתי אל פרעה אשר האלהים עשה הראה את פרעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 29

Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

- Voici, il y aura sept années de grande abondance dans tout le pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- ἰδοὺ ἑπτὰ ἔτη ἔρχεται εὐθηνία πολλὴ ἐν πάση̨ γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτω̨ (Ⅲ)

- ecce septem anni venient fertilitatis magnæ in universa terra Ægypti, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃41 הנה שבע שנים באות שבע גדול בכל ארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 30

And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

- Sept années de famine viendront après elles; et l'on oubliera toute cette abondance au pays d'Égypte, et la famine consumera le pays. (Ⅱ)

- ἥξει δὲ ἑπτὰ ἔτη λιμου̃ μετὰ ταυ̃τα καὶ ἐπιλήσονται τη̃ς πλησμονη̃ς ἐν ὅλη̨ γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτω̨ καὶ ἀναλώσει ὁ λιμὸς τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ)

- quos sequentur septem anni alii tantæ sterilitatis, ut oblivioni tradatur cuncta retro abundantia : consumptura est enim fames omnem terram, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃41 וקמו שבע שני רעב אחריהן ונשכח כל השבע בארץ מצרים וכלה הרעב את הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 31

And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

- Cette famine qui suivra sera si forte qu'on ne s'apercevra plus de l'abondance dans le pays. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἐπιγνωσθήσεται ἡ εὐθηνία ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἀπὸ του̃ λιμου̃ του̃ ἐσομένου μετὰ ταυ̃τα ἰσχυρὸς γὰρ ἔσται σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- et ubertatis magnitudinem perditura est inopiæ magnitudo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃41 ולא יודע השבע בארץ מפני הרעב ההוא אחרי כן כי כבד הוא מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 32

And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

- Si Pharaon a vu le songe se répéter une seconde fois, c'est que la chose est arrêtée de la part de Dieu, et que Dieu se hâtera de l'exécuter. (Ⅱ)

- περὶ δὲ του̃ δευτερω̃σαι τὸ ἐνύπνιον Φαραω δίς ὅτι ἀληθὲς ἔσται τὸ ῥη̃μα τὸ παρὰ του̃ θεου̃ καὶ ταχυνει̃ ὁ θεὸς του̃ ποιη̃σαι αὐτό (Ⅲ)

- Quod autem vidisti secundo ad eamdem rem pertinens somnium : firmitatis indicium est, eo quod fiat sermo Dei, et velocius impleatur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃41 ועל השנות החלום אל פרעה פעמים כי נכון הדבר מעם האלהים וממהר האלהים לעשתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 33

Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

- Maintenant, que Pharaon choisisse un homme intelligent et sage, et qu'il le mette à la tête du pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν σκέψαι ἄνθρωπον φρόνιμον καὶ συνετὸν καὶ κατάστησον αὐτὸν ἐπὶ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- Nunc ergo provideat rex virum sapientem et industrium, et præficiat eum terræ Ægypti : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃41 ועתה ירא פרעה איש נבון וחכם וישיתהו על ארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 34

Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.

- Que Pharaon établisse des commissaires sur le pays, pour lever un cinquième des récoltes de l'Égypte pendant les sept années d'abondance. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ποιησάτω Φαραω καὶ καταστησάτω τοπάρχας ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἀποπεμπτωσάτωσαν πάντα τὰ γενήματα τη̃ς γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου τω̃ν ἑπτὰ ἐτω̃ν τη̃ς εὐθηνίας (Ⅲ)

- qui constituat præpositos per cunctas regiones : et quintam partem fructuum per septem annos fertilitatis, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃41 יעשה פרעה ויפקד פקדים על הארץ וחמש את ארץ מצרים בשבע שני השבע ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 35

And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

- Qu'ils rassemblent tous les produits de ces bonnes années qui vont venir; qu'ils fassent, sous l'autorité de Pharaon, des amas de blé, des approvisionnements dans les villes, et qu'ils en aient la garde. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συναγαγέτωσαν πάντα τὰ βρώματα τω̃ν ἑπτὰ ἐτω̃ν τω̃ν ἐρχομένων τω̃ν καλω̃ν τούτων καὶ συναχθήτω ὁ σι̃τος ὑπὸ χει̃ρα Φαραω βρώματα ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσιν φυλαχθήτω (Ⅲ)

- qui jam nunc futuri sunt, congreget in horrea : et omne frumentum sub Pharaonis potestate condatur, serveturque in urbibus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃41 ויקבצו את כל אכל השנים הטבת הבאת האלה ויצברו בר תחת יד פרעה אכל בערים ושמרו ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 36

And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.

- Ces provisions seront en réserve pour le pays, pour les sept années de famine qui arriveront dans le pays d'Égypte, afin que le pays ne soit pas consumé par la famine. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται τὰ βρώματα πεφυλαγμένα τη̨̃ γη̨̃ εἰς τὰ ἑπτὰ ἔτη του̃ λιμου̃ ἃ ἔσονται ἐν γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτω̨ καὶ οὐκ ἐκτριβήσεται ἡ γη̃ ἐν τω̨̃ λιμω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et præparetur futuræ septem annorum fami, quæ oppressura est Ægyptum, et non consumetur terra inopia. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃41 והיה האכל לפקדון לארץ לשבע שני הרעב אשר תהיין בארץ מצרים ולא תכרת הארץ ברעב ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 37

And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

- Ces paroles plurent à Pharaon et à tous ses serviteurs. (Ⅱ)

- ἤρεσεν δὲ τὰ ῥήματα ἐναντίον Φαραω καὶ ἐναντίον πάντων τω̃ν παίδων αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Placuit Pharaoni consilium et cunctis ministris ejus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃41 וייטב הדבר בעיני פרעה ובעיני כל עבדיו ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 38

And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

- Et Pharaon dit à ses serviteurs: Trouverions-nous un homme comme celui-ci, ayant en lui l'esprit de Dieu? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Φαραω πα̃σιν τοι̃ς παισὶν αὐτου̃ μὴ εὑρήσομεν ἄνθρωπον τοιου̃τον ὃς ἔχει πνευ̃μα θεου̃ ἐν αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- locutusque est ad eos : Num invenire poterimus talem virum, qui spiritu Dei plenus sit ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃41 ויאמר פרעה אל עבדיו הנמצא כזה איש אשר רוח אלהים בו ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 39

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

- Et Pharaon dit à Joseph: Puisque Dieu t'a fait connaître toutes ces choses, il n'y a personne qui soit aussi intelligent et aussi sage que toi. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ Φαραω τω̨̃ Ιωσηφ ἐπειδὴ ἔδειξεν ὁ θεός σοι πάντα ταυ̃τα οὐκ ἔστιν ἄνθρωπος φρονιμώτερος καὶ συνετώτερός σου (Ⅲ)

- Dixit ergo ad Joseph : Quia ostendit tibi Deus omnia quæ locutus es, numquid sapientiorem et consimilem tui invenire potero ?\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃41 ויאמר פרעה אל יוסף אחרי הודיע אלהים אותך את כל זאת אין נבון וחכם כמוך ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 40

Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

- Je t'établis sur ma maison, et tout mon peuple obéira à tes ordres. Le trône seul m'élèvera au-dessus de toi. (Ⅱ)

- σὺ ἔση̨ ἐπὶ τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ μου καὶ ἐπὶ τω̨̃ στόματί σου ὑπακούσεται πα̃ς ὁ λαός μου πλὴν τὸν θρόνον ὑπερέξω σου ἐγώ (Ⅲ)

- Tu eris super domum meam, et ad tui oris imperium cunctus populus obediet : uno tantum regni solio te præcedam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃41 אתה תהיה על ביתי ועל פיך ישק כל עמי רק הכסא אגדל ממך ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 41

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

- Pharaon dit à Joseph: Vois, je te donne le commandement de tout le pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ Φαραω τω̨̃ Ιωσηφ ἰδοὺ καθίστημί σε σήμερον ἐπὶ πάσης γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque rursus Pharao ad Joseph : Ecce, constitui te super universam terram Ægypti. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃41 ויאמר פרעה אל יוסף ראה נתתי אתך על כל ארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 42

And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

- Pharaon ôta son anneau de la main, et le mit à la main de Joseph; il le revêtit d'habits de fin lin, et lui mit un collier d'or au cou. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ περιελόμενος Φαραω τὸν δακτύλιον ἀπὸ τη̃ς χειρὸς αὐτου̃ περιέθηκεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν χει̃ρα Ιωσηφ καὶ ἐνέδυσεν αὐτὸν στολὴν βυσσίνην καὶ περιέθηκεν κλοιὸν χρυσου̃ν περὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Tulitque annulum de manu sua, et dedit eum in manu ejus : vestivitque eum stola byssina, et collo torquem auream circumposuit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃41 ויסר פרעה את טבעתו מעל ידו ויתן אתה על יד יוסף וילבש אתו בגדי שש וישם רבד הזהב על צוארו ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 43

And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

- Il le fit monter sur le char qui suivait le sien; et l'on criait devant lui: A genoux! C'est ainsi que Pharaon lui donna le commandement de tout le pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνεβίβασεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ ἅρμα τὸ δεύτερον τω̃ν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐκήρυξεν ἔμπροσθεν αὐτου̃ κη̃ρυξ καὶ κατέστησεν αὐτὸν ἐφ' ὅλης γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- Fecitque eum ascendere super currum suum secundum, clamante præcone, ut omnes coram eo genu flecterent, et præpositum esse scirent universæ terræ Ægypti. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃41 וירכב אתו במרכבת המשנה אשר לו ויקראו לפניו אברך ונתון אתו על כל ארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 44

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

- Il dit encore à Joseph: Je suis Pharaon! Et sans toi personne ne lèvera la main ni le pied dans tout le pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ Φαραω τω̨̃ Ιωσηφ ἐγὼ Φαραω ἄνευ σου̃ οὐκ ἐξαρει̃ οὐθεὶς τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ πάση̨ γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- Dixit quoque rex ad Joseph : Ego sum Pharao : absque tuo imperio non movebit quisquam manum aut pedem in omni terra Ægypti. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 44 ׃41 ויאמר פרעה אל יוסף אני פרעה ובלעדיך לא ירים איש את ידו ואת רגלו בכל ארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 45

And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

- Pharaon appela Joseph du nom de Tsaphnath Paenéach; et il lui donna pour femme Asnath, fille de Poti Phéra, prêtre d'On. Et Joseph partit pour visiter le pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Φαραω τὸ ὄνομα Ιωσηφ Ψονθομφανηχ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτω̨̃ τὴν Ασεννεθ θυγατέρα Πετεφρη ἱερέως 'Ηλίου πόλεως αὐτω̨̃ γυναι̃κα (Ⅲ)

- Vertitque nomen ejus, et vocavit eum, lingua ægyptiaca, Salvatorem mundi. Deditque illi uxorem Aseneth filiam Putiphare sacerdotis Heliopoleos. Egressus est itaque Joseph ad terram Ægypti (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 45 ׃41 ויקרא פרעה שם יוסף צפנת פענח ויתן לו את אסנת בת פוטי פרע כהן אן לאשה ויצא יוסף על ארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 46

And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

- Joseph était âgé de trente ans lorsqu'il se présenta devant Pharaon, roi d'Égypte; et il quitta Pharaon, et parcourut tout le pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- Ιωσηφ δὲ ἠ̃ν ἐτω̃ν τριάκοντα ὅτε ἔστη ἐναντίον Φαραω βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου ἐξη̃λθεν δὲ Ιωσηφ ἐκ προσώπου Φαραω καὶ διη̃λθεν πα̃σαν γη̃ν Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- (triginta autem annorum erat quando stetit in conspectu regis Pharaonis), et circuivit omnes regiones Ægypti. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 46 ׃41 ויוסף בן שלשים שנה בעמדו לפני פרעה מלך מצרים ויצא יוסף מלפני פרעה ויעבר‪[1]‬ בכל ארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 47

And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

- Pendant les sept années de fertilité, la terre rapporta abondamment. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησεν ἡ γη̃ ἐν τοι̃ς ἑπτὰ ἔτεσιν τη̃ς εὐθηνίας δράγματα (Ⅲ)

- Venitque fertilitas septem annorum : et in manipulos redactæ segetes congregatæ sunt in horrea Ægypti. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 47 ׃41 ותעש הארץ בשבע שני השבע לקמצים ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 48

And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.

- Joseph rassembla tous les produits de ces sept années dans le pays d'Égypte; il fit des approvisionnements dans les villes, mettant dans l'intérieur de chaque ville les productions des champs d'alentour. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνήγαγεν πάντα τὰ βρώματα τω̃ν ἑπτὰ ἐτω̃ν ἐν οἱ̃ς ἠ̃ν ἡ εὐθηνία ἐν γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἔθηκεν τὰ βρώματα ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσιν βρώματα τω̃ν πεδίων τη̃ς πόλεως τω̃ν κύκλω̨ αὐτη̃ς ἔθηκεν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Omnis etiam frugum abundantia in singulis urbibus condita est. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 48 ׃41 ויקבץ את כל אכל שבע שנים אשר היו בארץ מצרים ויתן אכל בערים אכל שדה העיר אשר סביבתיה נתן בתוכה ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 49

And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.

- Joseph amassa du blé, comme le sable de la mer, en quantité si considérable que l'on cessa de compter, parce qu'il n'y avait plus de nombre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνήγαγεν Ιωσηφ σι̃τον ὡσεὶ τὴν ἄμμον τη̃ς θαλάσσης πολὺν σφόδρα ἕως οὐκ ἠδύναντο ἀριθμη̃σαι οὐ γὰρ ἠ̃ν ἀριθμός (Ⅲ)

- Tantaque fuit abundantia tritici, ut arenæ maris coæquaretur, et copia mensuram excederet. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 49 ׃41 ויצבר יוסף בר כחול הים הרבה מאד עד כי חדל לספר כי אין מספר ‬ (Ⅴ)

41. 50

And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.

- Avant les années de famine, il naquit à Joseph deux fils, que lui enfanta Asnath, fille de Poti Phéra, prêtre d'On. (Ⅱ)

- τω̨̃ δὲ Ιωσηφ ἐγένοντο υἱοὶ δύο πρὸ του̃ ἐλθει̃ν τὰ ἑπτὰ ἔτη του̃ λιμου̃ οὓς ἔτεκεν αὐτω̨̃ Ασεννεθ θυγάτηρ Πετεφρη ἱερέως 'Ηλίου πόλεως (Ⅲ)

- Nati sunt autem Joseph filii duo antequam veniret fames : quos peperit ei Aseneth filia Putiphare sacerdotis Heliopoleos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 50 ׃41 וליוסף ילד שני בנים בטרם תבוא שנת הרעב אשר ילדה לו אסנת בת פוטי פרע כהן און ‬ (Ⅴ)
