8. 1

And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

- Dieu se souvint de Noé, de tous les animaux et de tout le bétail qui étaient avec lui dans l'arche; et Dieu fit passer un vent sur la terre, et les eaux s'apaisèrent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐμνήσθη ὁ θεὸς του̃ Νωε καὶ πάντων τω̃ν θηρίων καὶ πάντων τω̃ν κτηνω̃ν καὶ πάντων τω̃ν πετεινω̃ν καὶ πάντων τω̃ν ἑρπετω̃ν ὅσα ἠ̃ν μετ' αὐτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ κιβωτω̨̃ καὶ ἐπήγαγεν ὁ θεὸς πνευ̃μα ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ἐκόπασεν τὸ ὕδωρ (Ⅲ)

- Recordatus autem Deus Noë, cunctorumque animantium, et omnium jumentorum, quæ erant cum eo in arca, adduxit spiritum super terram, et imminutæ sunt aquæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃8 ויזכר אלהים את נח ואת כל החיה ואת כל הבהמה אשר אתו בתבה ויעבר אלהים רוח על הארץ וישכו המים ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 2

The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

- Les sources de l'abîme et les écluses des cieux furent fermées, et la pluie ne tomba plus du ciel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπεκαλύφθησαν αἱ πηγαὶ τη̃ς ἀβύσσου καὶ οἱ καταρράκται του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ συνεσχέθη ὁ ὑετὸς ἀπὸ του̃ οὐρανου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et clausi sunt fontes abyssi, et cataractæ cæli : et prohibitæ sunt pluviæ de cælo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃8 ויסכרו מעינת תהום וארבת השמים ויכלא הגשם מן השמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 3

And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

- Les eaux se retirèrent de dessus la terre, s'en allant et s'éloignant, et les eaux diminuèrent au bout de cent cinquante jours. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνεδίδου τὸ ὕδωρ πορευόμενον ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἐνεδίδου καὶ ἠλαττονου̃το τὸ ὕδωρ μετὰ πεντήκοντα καὶ ἑκατὸν ἡμέρας (Ⅲ)

- Reversæque sunt aquæ de terra euntes et redeuntes : et cœperunt minui post centum quinquaginta dies. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃8 וישבו המים מעל הארץ הלוך ושוב ויחסרו המים מקצה חמשים ומאת יום ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 4

And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

- Le septième mois, le dix-septième jour du mois, l'arche s'arrêta sur les montagnes d'Ararat. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἡ κιβωτὸς ἐν μηνὶ τω̨̃ ἑβδόμω̨ ἑβδόμη̨ καὶ εἰκάδι του̃ μηνός ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη τὰ Αραρατ (Ⅲ)

- Requievitque arca mense septimo, vigesimo septimo die mensis, super montes Armeniæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃8 ותנח התבה בחדש השביעי בשבעה עשר יום לחדש על הרי אררט ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 5

And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

- Les eaux allèrent en diminuant jusqu'au dixième mois. Le dixième mois, le premier jour du mois, apparurent les sommets des montagnes. (Ⅱ)

- τὸ δὲ ὕδωρ πορευόμενον ἠλαττονου̃το ἕως του̃ δεκάτου μηνός ἐν δὲ τω̨̃ ἑνδεκάτω̨ μηνί τη̨̃ πρώτη̨ του̃ μηνός ὤφθησαν αἱ κεφαλαὶ τω̃ν ὀρέων (Ⅲ)

- At vero aquæ ibant et decrescebant usque ad decimum mensem : decimo enim mense, primo die mensis, apparuerunt cacumina montium. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃8 והמים היו הלוך וחסור עד החדש העשירי בעשירי באחד לחדש נראו ראשי ההרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 6

And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

- Au bout de quarante jours, Noé ouvrit la fenêtre qu'il avait faite à l'arche. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τεσσαράκοντα ἡμέρας ἠνέω̨ξεν Νωε τὴν θυρίδα τη̃ς κιβωτου̃ ἣν ἐποίησεν (Ⅲ)

- Cumque transissent quadraginta dies, aperiens Noë fenestram arcæ, quam fecerat, dimisit corvum, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃8 ויהי מקץ ארבעים יום ויפתח נח את חלון התבה אשר עשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 7

And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

- Il lâcha le corbeau, qui sortit, partant et revenant, jusqu'à ce que les eaux eussent séché sur la terre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τὸν κόρακα του̃ ἰδει̃ν εἰ κεκόπακεν τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ ἐξελθὼν οὐχ ὑπέστρεψεν ἕως του̃ ξηρανθη̃ναι τὸ ὕδωρ ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- qui egrediebatur, et non revertebatur, donec siccarentur aquæ super terram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃8 וישלח את הערב ויצא יצוא ושוב עד יבשת המים מעל הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 8

Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;

- Il lâcha aussi la colombe, pour voir si les eaux avaient diminué à la surface de la terre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τὴν περιστερὰν ὀπίσω αὐτου̃ ἰδει̃ν εἰ κεκόπακεν τὸ ὕδωρ ἀπὸ προσώπου τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Emisit quoque columbam post eum, ut videret si jam cessassent aquæ super faciem terræ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃8 וישלח את היונה מאתו לראות הקלו המים מעל פני האדמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 9

But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

- Mais la colombe ne trouva aucun lieu pour poser la plante de son pied, et elle revint à lui dans l'arche, car il y avait des eaux à la surface de toute la terre. Il avança la main, la prit, et la fit rentrer auprès de lui dans l'arche. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐχ εὑρου̃σα ἡ περιστερὰ ἀνάπαυσιν τοι̃ς ποσὶν αὐτη̃ς ὑπέστρεψεν πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν ὅτι ὕδωρ ἠ̃ν ἐπὶ παντὶ προσώπω̨ πάσης τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν καὶ εἰσήγαγεν αὐτὴν πρὸς ἑαυτὸν εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν (Ⅲ)

- Quæ cum non invenisset ubi requiesceret pes ejus, reversa est ad eum in arcam : aquæ enim erant super universam terram : extenditque manum, et apprehensam intulit in arcam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃8 ולא מצאה היונה מנוח לכף רגלה ותשב אליו אל התבה כי מים על פני כל הארץ וישלח ידו ויקחה ויבא אתה אליו אל התבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 10

And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

- Il attendit encore sept autres jours, et il lâcha de nouveau la colombe hors de l'arche. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπισχὼν ἔτι ἡμέρας ἑπτὰ ἑτέρας πάλιν ἐξαπέστειλεν τὴν περιστερὰν ἐκ τη̃ς κιβωτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Expectatis autem ultra septem diebus aliis, rursum dimisit columbam ex arca. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃8 ויחל עוד שבעת ימים אחרים ויסף שלח את היונה מן התבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 11

And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

- La colombe revint à lui sur le soir; et voici, une feuille d'olivier arrachée était dans son bec. Noé connut ainsi que les eaux avaient diminué sur la terre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡ περιστερὰ τὸ πρὸς ἑσπέραν καὶ εἰ̃χεν φύλλον ἐλαίας κάρφος ἐν τω̨̃ στόματι αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἔγνω Νωε ὅτι κεκόπακεν τὸ ὕδωρ ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- At illa venit ad eum ad vesperam, portans ramum olivæ virentibus foliis in ore suo : intellexit ergo Noë quod cessassent aquæ super terram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃8 ותבא אליו היונה לעת ערב והנה עלה זית טרף בפיה וידע נח כי קלו המים מעל הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 12

And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

- Il attendit encore sept autres jours; et il lâcha la colombe. Mais elle ne revint plus à lui. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπισχὼν ἔτι ἡμέρας ἑπτὰ ἑτέρας πάλιν ἐξαπέστειλεν τὴν περιστεράν καὶ οὐ προσέθετο του̃ ἐπιστρέψαι πρὸς αὐτὸν ἔτι (Ⅲ)

- Expectavitque nihilominus septem alios dies : et emisit columbam, quæ non est reversa ultra ad eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃8 וייחל עוד שבעת ימים אחרים וישלח את היונה ולא יספה שוב אליו עוד ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 13

And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

- L'an six cent un, le premier mois, le premier jour du mois, les eaux avaient séché sur la terre. Noé ôta la couverture de l'arche: il regarda, et voici, la surface de la terre avait séché. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ ἑνὶ καὶ ἑξακοσιοστω̨̃ ἔτει ἐν τη̨̃ ζωη̨̃ του̃ Νωε του̃ πρώτου μηνός μια̨̃ του̃ μηνός ἐξέλιπεν τὸ ὕδωρ ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἀπεκάλυψεν Νωε τὴν στέγην τη̃ς κιβωτου̃ ἣν ἐποίησεν καὶ εἰ̃δεν ὅτι ἐξέλιπεν τὸ ὕδωρ ἀπὸ προσώπου τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Igitur sexcentesimo primo anno, primo mense, prima die mensis, imminutæ sunt aquæ super terram : et aperiens Noë tectum arcæ, aspexit, viditque quod exsiccata esset superficies terræ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃8 ויהי באחת ושש מאות שנה בראשון באחד לחדש חרבו המים מעל הארץ ויסר נח את מכסה התבה וירא והנה חרבו פני האדמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 14

And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

- Le second mois, le vingt-septième jour du mois, la terre fut sèche. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν δὲ τω̨̃ μηνὶ τω̨̃ δευτέρω̨ ἑβδόμη̨ καὶ εἰκάδι του̃ μηνός ἐξηράνθη ἡ γη̃ (Ⅲ)

- Mense secundo, septimo et vigesimo die mensis arefacta est terra.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃8 ובחדש השני בשבעה ועשרים יום לחדש יבשה הארץ ס‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 15

And God spake unto Noah, saying,

- Alors Dieu parla à Noé, en disant: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τω̨̃ Νωε λέγων (Ⅲ)

- Locutus est autem Deus ad Noë, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃8 וידבר אלהים אל נח לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 16

Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.

- Sors de l'arche, toi et ta femme, tes fils et les femmes de tes fils avec toi. (Ⅱ)

- ἔξελθε ἐκ τη̃ς κιβωτου̃ σὺ καὶ ἡ γυνή σου καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ αἱ γυναι̃κες τω̃ν υἱω̃ν σου μετὰ σου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Egredere de arca, tu et uxor tua, filii tui et uxores filiorum tuorum tecum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃8 צא מן התבה אתה ואשתך ובניך ונשי בניך אתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 17

Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

- Fais sortir avec toi tous les animaux de toute chair qui sont avec toi, tant les oiseaux que le bétail et tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre: qu'ils se répandent sur la terre, qu'ils soient féconds et multiplient sur la terre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πάντα τὰ θηρία ὅσα ἐστὶν μετὰ σου̃ καὶ πα̃σα σὰρξ ἀπὸ πετεινω̃ν ἕως κτηνω̃ν καὶ πα̃ν ἑρπετὸν κινούμενον ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἐξάγαγε μετὰ σεαυτου̃ καὶ αὐξάνεσθε καὶ πληθύνεσθε ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Cuncta animantia, quæ sunt apud te, ex omni carne, tam in volatilibus quam in bestiis et universis reptilibus, quæ reptant super terram, educ tecum, et ingredimini super terram : crescite et multiplicamini super eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃8 כל החיה אשר אתך מכל בשר בעוף ובבהמה ובכל הרמש הרמש על הארץ *הוצא **היצא אתך ושרצו בארץ ופרו ורבו על הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 18

And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:

- Et Noé sortit, avec ses fils, sa femme, et les femmes de ses fils. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν Νωε καὶ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτου̃ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτου̃ καὶ αἱ γυναι̃κες τω̃ν υἱω̃ν αὐτου̃ μετ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Egressus est ergo Noë, et filii ejus : uxor illius, et uxores filiorum ejus cum eo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃8 ויצא נח ובניו ואשתו ונשי בניו אתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 19

Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

- Tous les animaux, tous les reptiles, tous les oiseaux, tout ce qui se meut sur la terre, selon leurs espèces, sortirent de l'arche. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πάντα τὰ θηρία καὶ πάντα τὰ κτήνη καὶ πα̃ν πετεινὸν καὶ πα̃ν ἑρπετὸν κινούμενον ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς κατὰ γένος αὐτω̃ν ἐξήλθοσαν ἐκ τη̃ς κιβωτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Sed et omnia animantia, jumenta, et reptilia quæ reptant super terram, secundum genus suum, egressa sunt de arca. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃8 כל החיה כל הרמש וכל העוף כל רומש על הארץ למשפחתיהם יצאו מן התבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 20

And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

- Noé bâtit un autel à l'Éternel; il prit de toutes les bêtes pures et de tous les oiseaux purs, et il offrit des holocaustes sur l'autel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν Νωε θυσιαστήριον τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ καὶ ἔλαβεν ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν κτηνω̃ν τω̃ν καθαρω̃ν καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν πετεινω̃ν τω̃ν καθαρω̃ν καὶ ἀνήνεγκεν ὁλοκαρπώσεις ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον (Ⅲ)

- Ædificavit autem Noë altare Domino : et tollens de cunctis pecoribus et volucribus mundis, obtulit holocausta super altare. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃8 ויבן נח מזבח ליהוה ויקח מכל הבהמה הטהורה ומכל העוף הטהר ויעל עלת במזבח ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 21

And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

- L'Éternel sentit une odeur agréable, et l'Éternel dit en son coeur: Je ne maudirai plus la terre, à cause de l'homme, parce que les pensées du coeur de l'homme sont mauvaises dès sa jeunesse; et je ne frapperai plus tout ce qui est vivant, comme je l'ai fait. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὠσφράνθη κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς διανοηθείς οὐ προσθήσω ἔτι του̃ καταράσασθαι τὴν γη̃ν διὰ τὰ ἔργα τω̃ν ἀνθρώπων ὅτι ἔγκειται ἡ διάνοια του̃ ἀνθρώπου ἐπιμελω̃ς ἐπὶ τὰ πονηρὰ ἐκ νεότητος οὐ προσθήσω οὐ̃ν ἔτι πατάξαι πα̃σαν σάρκα ζω̃σαν καθὼς ἐποίησα (Ⅲ)

- Odoratusque est Dominus odorem suavitatis, et ait : Nequaquam ultra maledicam terræ propter homines : sensus enim et cogitatio humani cordis in malum prona sunt ab adolescentia sua : non igitur ultra percutiam omnem animam viventem sicut feci. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃8 וירח יהוה את ריח הניחח ויאמר יהוה אל לבו לא אסף לקלל עוד את האדמה בעבור האדם כי יצר לב האדם רע מנעריו ולא אסף עוד להכות את כל חי כאשר עשיתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 22

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

- Tant que la terre subsistera, les semailles et la moisson, le froid et la chaleur, l'été et l'hiver, le jour et la nuit ne cesseront point. (Ⅱ)

- πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τη̃ς γη̃ς σπέρμα καὶ θερισμός ψυ̃χος καὶ καυ̃μα θέρος καὶ ἔαρ ἡμέραν καὶ νύκτα οὐ καταπαύσουσιν (Ⅲ)

- Cunctis diebus terræ, sementis et messis, frigus et æstus, æstas et hiems, nox et dies non requiescent. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃8 עד כל ימי הארץ זרע וקציר וקר וחם וקיץ וחרף ויום ולילה לא ישבתו ‬ (Ⅴ)
