11. 1

And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.

- L'année suivante, au temps où les rois se mettaient en campagne, David envoya Joab, avec ses serviteurs et tout Israël, pour détruire les fils d'Ammon et pour assiéger Rabba. Mais David resta à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπιστρέψαντος του̃ ἐνιαυτου̃ εἰς τὸν καιρὸν τη̃ς ἐξοδίας τω̃ν βασιλέων καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Δαυιδ τὸν Ιωαβ καὶ τοὺς παι̃δας αὐτου̃ μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ τὸν πάντα Ισραηλ καὶ διέφθειραν τοὺς υἱοὺς Αμμων καὶ διεκάθισαν ἐπὶ Ραββαθ καὶ Δαυιδ ἐκάθισεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- Factum est autem, vertente anno, eo tempore quo solent reges ad bella procedere, misit David Joab, et servos suos cum eo, et universum Israël, et vastaverunt filios Ammon, et obsederunt Rabba : David autem remansit in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃11 ויהי לתשובת השנה לעת צאת המלאכים‪[1]‬ וישלח דוד את יואב ואת עבדיו עמו ואת כל ישראל וישחתו את בני עמון ויצרו על רבה ודוד יושב בירושלם ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 2

And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

- Un soir, David se leva de sa couche; et, comme il se promenait sur le toit de la maison royale, il aperçut de là une femme qui se baignait, et qui était très belle de figure. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο πρὸς ἑσπέραν καὶ ἀνέστη Δαυιδ ἀπὸ τη̃ς κοίτης αὐτου̃ καὶ περιεπάτει ἐπὶ του̃ δώματος του̃ οἴκου του̃ βασιλέως καὶ εἰ̃δεν γυναι̃κα λουομένην ἀπὸ του̃ δώματος καὶ ἡ γυνὴ καλὴ τω̨̃ εἴδει σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- Dum hæc agerentur, accidit ut surgeret David de strato suo post meridiem, et deambularet in solario domus regiæ : viditque mulierem se lavantem ex adverso super solarium suum : erat autem mulier pulchra valde. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃11 ויהי לעת הערב ויקם דוד מעל משכבו ויתהלך על גג בית המלך וירא אשה רחצת מעל הגג והאשה טובת מראה מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 3

And David sent and inquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

- David fit demander qui était cette femme, et on lui dit: N'est-ce pas Bath Schéba, fille d'Éliam, femme d'Urie, le Héthien? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Δαυιδ καὶ ἐζήτησεν τὴν γυναι̃κα καὶ εἰ̃πεν οὐχὶ αὕτη Βηρσαβεε θυγάτηρ Ελιαβ γυνὴ Ουριου του̃ Χετταίου (Ⅲ)

- Misit ergo rex, et requisivit quæ esset mulier. Nuntiatumque est ei quod ipsa esset Bethsabee filia Eliam, uxor Uriæ Hethæi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃11 וישלח דוד וידרש לאשה ויאמר הלוא זאת בת שבע בת אליעם אשת אוריה החתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 4

And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.

- Et David envoya des gens pour la chercher. Elle vint vers lui, et il coucha avec elle. Après s'être purifiée de sa souillure, elle retourna dans sa maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Δαυιδ ἀγγέλους καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτήν καὶ εἰση̃λθεν πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ ἐκοιμήθη μετ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ αὐτὴ ἁγιαζομένη ἀπὸ ἀκαθαρσίας αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Missis itaque David nuntiis, tulit eam : quæ cum ingressa esset ad illum, dormivit cum ea : statimque sanctificata est ab immunditia sua, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃11 וישלח דוד מלאכים ויקחה ותבוא אליו וישכב עמה‪[c]‬ והיא מתקדשת מטמאתה ותשב אל ביתה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 5

And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.

- Cette femme devint enceinte, et elle fit dire à David: Je suis enceinte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν γαστρὶ ἔλαβεν ἡ γυνή καὶ ἀποστείλασα ἀπήγγειλεν τω̨̃ Δαυιδ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἐγώ εἰμι ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχω (Ⅲ)

- et reversa est domum suam concepto fœtu. Mittensque nuntiavit David, et ait : Concepi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃11 ותהר האשה ותשלח ותגד לדוד ותאמר הרה אנכי ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 6

And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.

- Alors David expédia cet ordre à Joab: Envoie-moi Urie, le Héthien. Et Joab envoya Urie à David. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Ιωαβ λέγων ἀπόστειλον πρός με τὸν Ουριαν τὸν Χετται̃ον καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ιωαβ τὸν Ουριαν πρὸς Δαυιδ (Ⅲ)

- Misit autem David ad Joab, dicens : Mitte ad me Uriam Hethæum. Misitque Joab Uriam ad David. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃11 וישלח דוד אל יואב שלח אלי את אוריה החתי וישלח יואב את אוריה אל דוד ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 7

And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered.

- Urie se rendit auprès de David, qui l'interrogea sur l'état de Joab, sur l'état du peuple, et sur l'état de la guerre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ παραγίνεται Ουριας καὶ εἰση̃λθεν πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν Δαυιδ εἰς εἰρήνην Ιωαβ καὶ εἰς εἰρήνην του̃ λαου̃ καὶ εἰς εἰρήνην του̃ πολέμου (Ⅲ)

- Et venit Urias ad David. Quæsivitque David quam recte ageret Joab et populus, et quomodo administraretur bellum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃11 ויבא אוריה אליו וישאל דוד לשלום יואב ולשלום העם ולשלום המלחמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 8

And David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king.

- Puis David dit à Urie: Descends dans ta maison, et lave tes pieds. Urie sortit de la maison royale, et il fut suivi d'un présent du roi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ τω̨̃ Ουρια κατάβηθι εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κόν σου καὶ νίψαι τοὺς πόδας σου καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν Ουριας ἐξ οἴκου του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν ὀπίσω αὐτου̃ ἄρσις του̃ βασιλέως (Ⅲ)

- Et dixit David ad Uriam : Vade in domum tuam, et lava pedes tuos. Et egressus est Urias de domo regis, secutusque est eum cibus regius. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃11 ויאמר דוד לאוריה‪[c]‬ רד לביתך ורחץ רגליך ויצא אוריה מבית המלך ותצא אחריו משאת המלך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 9

But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house.

- Mais Urie se coucha à la porte de la maison royale, avec tous les serviteurs de son maître, et il ne descendit point dans sa maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ουριας παρὰ τη̨̃ θύρα̨ του̃ βασιλέως μετὰ τω̃ν δούλων του̃ κυρίου αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐ κατέβη εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Dormivit autem Urias ante portam domus regiæ cum aliis servis domini sui, et non descendit ad domum suam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃11 וישכב אוריה פתח בית המלך את כל עבדי אדניו ולא ירד אל ביתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 10

And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy journey? why then didst thou not go down unto thine house?

- On en informa David, et on lui dit: Urie n'est pas descendu dans sa maison. Et David dit à Urie: N'arrives-tu pas de voyage? Pourquoi n'es-tu pas descendu dans ta maison? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνήγγειλαν τω̨̃ Δαυιδ λέγοντες ὅτι οὐ κατέβη Ουριας εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Ουριαν οὐχὶ ἐξ ὁδου̃ σὺ ἔρχη̨ τί ὅτι οὐ κατέβης εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κόν σου (Ⅲ)

- Nuntiatumque est David a dicentibus : Non ivit Urias in domum suam. Et ait David ad Uriam : Numquid non de via venisti ? quare non descendisti in domum tuam ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃11 ויגדו לדוד לאמר לא ירד אוריה אל ביתו ויאמר דוד אל אוריה הלוא מדרך אתה בא מדוע לא ירדת אל ביתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 11

And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.

- Urie répondit à David: L'arche et Israël et Juda habitent sous des tentes, mon seigneur Joab et les serviteurs de mon seigneur campent en rase campagne, et moi j'entrerais dans ma maison pour manger et boire et pour coucher avec ma femme! Aussi vrai que tu es vivant et que ton âme est vivante, je ne ferai point cela. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ουριας πρὸς Δαυιδ ἡ κιβωτὸς καὶ Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδας κατοικου̃σιν ἐν σκηναι̃ς καὶ ὁ κύριός μου Ιωαβ καὶ οἱ δου̃λοι του̃ κυρίου μου ἐπὶ πρόσωπον του̃ ἀγρου̃ παρεμβάλλουσιν καὶ ἐγὼ εἰσελεύσομαι εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κόν μου φαγει̃ν καὶ πιει̃ν καὶ κοιμηθη̃ναι μετὰ τη̃ς γυναικός μου πω̃ς ζη̨̃ ἡ ψυχή σου εἰ ποιήσω τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το (Ⅲ)

- Et ait Urias ad David : Arca Dei et Israël et Juda habitant in papilionibus, et dominus meus Joab et servi domini mei super faciem terræ manent : et ego ingrediar domum meam, ut comedam et bibam, et dormiam cum uxore mea ? Per salutem tuam, et per salutem animæ tuæ, non faciam rem hanc. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃11 ויאמר אוריה אל דוד הארון וישראל ויהודה ישבים בסכות ואדני יואב ועבדי אדני על פני השדה חנים ואני אבוא אל ביתי לאכל ולשתות ולשכב עם אשתי חיך וחי נפשך אם אעשה את הדבר הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 12

And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow.

- David dit à Urie: Reste ici encore aujourd'hui, et demain je te renverrai. Et Urie resta à Jérusalem ce jour-là et le lendemain. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Ουριαν κάθισον ἐνταυ̃θα καί γε σήμερον καὶ αὔριον ἐξαποστελω̃ σε καὶ ἐκάθισεν Ουριας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ καὶ τη̨̃ ἐπαύριον (Ⅲ)

- Ait ergo David ad Uriam : Mane hic etiam hodie, et cras dimittam te. Mansit Urias in Jerusalem in die illa et altera : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃11 ויאמר דוד אל אוריה שב בזה גם היום ומחר אשלחך וישב אוריה בירושלם ביום ההוא וממחרת ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 13

And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.

- David l'invita à manger et à boire en sa présence, et il l'enivra; et le soir, Urie sortit pour se mettre sur sa couche, avec les serviteurs de son maître, mais il ne descendit point dans sa maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτὸν Δαυιδ καὶ ἔφαγεν ἐνώπιον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔπιεν καὶ ἐμέθυσεν αὐτόν καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν ἑσπέρας του̃ κοιμηθη̃ναι ἐπὶ τη̃ς κοίτης αὐτου̃ μετὰ τω̃ν δούλων του̃ κυρίου αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ οὐ κατέβη (Ⅲ)

- et vocavit eum David ut comederet coram se et biberet, et inebriavit eum : qui egressus vespere, dormivit in strato suo cum servis domini sui, et in domum suam non descendit.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃11 ויקרא לו דוד ויאכל לפניו וישת וישכרהו ויצא בערב לשכב במשכבו עם עבדי אדניו ואל ביתו לא ירד ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 14

And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.

- Le lendemain matin, David écrivit une lettre à Joab, et l'envoya par la main d'Urie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο πρωὶ καὶ ἔγραψεν Δαυιδ βιβλίον πρὸς Ιωαβ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἐν χειρὶ Ουριου (Ⅲ)

- Factum est ergo mane, et scripsit David epistolam ad Joab : misitque per manum Uriæ, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃11 ויהי בבקר ויכתב דוד ספר אל יואב וישלח ביד אוריה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 15

And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.

- Il écrivit dans cette lettre: Placez Urie au plus fort du combat, et retirez-vous de lui, afin qu'il soit frappé et qu'il meure. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔγραψεν ἐν τω̨̃ βιβλίω̨ λέγων εἰσάγαγε τὸν Ουριαν ἐξ ἐναντίας του̃ πολέμου του̃ κραταιου̃ καὶ ἀποστραφήσεσθε ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν αὐτου̃ καὶ πληγήσεται καὶ ἀποθανει̃ται (Ⅲ)

- scribens in epistola : Ponite Uriam ex adverso belli, ubi fortissimum est prælium : et derelinquite eum, ut percussus intereat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃11 ויכתב בספר לאמר הבו את אוריה אל מול פני המלחמה החזקה ושבתם מאחריו ונכה ומת ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 16

And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.

- Joab, en assiégeant la ville, plaça Urie à l'endroit qu'il savait défendu par de vaillants soldats. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τω̨̃ φυλάσσειν Ιωαβ ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἔθηκεν τὸν Ουριαν εἰς τὸν τόπον οὑ̃ ἤ̨δει ὅτι ἄνδρες δυνάμεως ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Igitur cum Joab obsideret urbem, posuit Uriam in loco ubi sciebat viros esse fortissimos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃11 ויהי בשמור יואב אל העיר ויתן את אוריה אל המקום אשר ידע כי אנשי חיל שם ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 17

And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.

- Les hommes de la ville firent une sortie et se battirent contre Joab; plusieurs tombèrent parmi le peuple, parmi les serviteurs de David, et Urie, le Héthien, fut aussi tué. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθον οἱ ἄνδρες τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ ἐπολέμουν μετὰ Ιωαβ καὶ ἔπεσαν ἐκ του̃ λαου̃ ἐκ τω̃ν δούλων Δαυιδ καὶ ἀπέθανεν καί γε Ουριας ὁ Χετται̃ος (Ⅲ)

- Egressique viri de civitate, bellabant adversum Joab, et ceciderunt de populo servorum David, et mortuus est etiam Urias Hethæus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃11 ויצאו אנשי העיר וילחמו את יואב ויפל מן העם מעבדי דוד וימת גם אוריה החתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 18

Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;

- Joab envoya un messager pour faire rapport à David de tout ce qui s'était passé dans le combat. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ιωαβ καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ πάντας τοὺς λόγους του̃ πολέμου (Ⅲ)

- Misit itaque Joab, et nuntiavit David omnia verba prælii : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃11 וישלח יואב ויגד לדוד את כל דברי המלחמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 19

And charged the messenger, saying, When thou hast made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king,

- Il donna cet ordre au messager: Quand tu auras achevé de raconter au roi tous les détails du combat, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνετείλατο τω̨̃ ἀγγέλω̨ λέγων ἐν τω̨̃ συντελέσαι σε πάντας τοὺς λόγους του̃ πολέμου λαλη̃σαι πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα (Ⅲ)

- præcepitque nuntio, dicens : Cum compleveris universos sermones belli ad regem, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃11 ויצו את המלאך לאמר ככלותך את כל דברי המלחמה לדבר אל המלך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 20

And if so be that the king's wrath arise, and he say unto thee, Wherefore approached ye so nigh unto the city when ye did fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall?

- peut-être se mettra-t-il en fureur et te dira-t-il: Pourquoi vous êtes vous approchés de la ville pour combattre? Ne savez-vous pas qu'on lance des traits du haut de la muraille? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν ἀναβη̨̃ ὁ θυμὸς του̃ βασιλέως καὶ εἴπη̨ σοι τί ὅτι ἠγγίσατε πρὸς τὴν πόλιν πολεμη̃σαι οὐκ ἤ̨δειτε ὅτι τοξεύσουσιν ἀπάνωθεν του̃ τείχους (Ⅲ)

- si eum videris indignari, et dixerit : Quare accessistis ad murum, ut præliaremini ? an ignorabatis quod multa desuper ex muro tela mittantur ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃11 והיה אם תעלה חמת המלך ואמר לך מדוע נגשתם אל העיר להלחם הלוא ידעתם את אשר ירו מעל החומה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 21

Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went ye nigh the wall? then say thou, Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.

- Qui a tué Abimélec, fils de Jerubbéscheth? n'est-ce pas une femme qui lança sur lui du haut de la muraille un morceau de meule de moulin, et n'en est-il pas mort à Thébets? Pourquoi vous êtes-vous approchés de la muraille? Alors tu diras: Ton serviteur Urie, le Héthien, est mort aussi. (Ⅱ)

- τίς ἐπάταξεν τὸν Αβιμελεχ υἱὸν Ιεροβααλ οὐχὶ γυνὴ ἔρριψεν ἐπ' αὐτὸν κλάσμα μύλου ἐπάνωθεν του̃ τείχους καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἐν Θαμασι ἵνα τί προσηγάγετε πρὸς τὸ τει̃χος καὶ ἐρει̃ς καί γε Ουριας ὁ δου̃λός σου ὁ Χετται̃ος ἀπέθανεν (Ⅲ)

- Quis percussit Abimelech filium Jerobaal ? nonne mulier misit super eum fragmen molæ de muro, et interfecit eum in Thebes ? quare juxta murum accessistis ? dices : Etiam servus tuus Urias Hethæus occubuit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃11 מי הכה את אבימלך בן ירבשת הלוא אשה השליכה עליו פלח רכב מעל החומה וימת בתבץ למה נגשתם אל החומה ואמרת גם עבדך אוריה החתי מת ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 22

So the messenger went, and came and showed David all that Joab had sent him for.

- Le messager partit: et, à son arrivée, il fit rapport à David de tout ce que Joab lui avait ordonné. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὁ ἄγγελος Ιωαβ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ παρεγένετο καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν τω̨̃ Δαυιδ πάντα ὅσα ἀπήγγειλεν αὐτω̨̃ Ιωαβ πάντα τὰ ῥήματα του̃ πολέμου καὶ ἐθυμώθη Δαυιδ πρὸς Ιωαβ καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον ἵνα τί προσηγάγετε πρὸς τὴν πόλιν του̃ πολεμη̃σαι οὐκ ἤ̨δειτε ὅτι πληγήσεσθε ἀπὸ του̃ τείχους τίς ἐπάταξεν τὸν Αβιμελεχ υἱὸν Ιεροβααλ οὐχὶ γυνὴ ἔρριψεν ἐπ' αὐτὸν κλάσμα μύλου ἀπὸ του̃ τείχους καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἐν Θαμασι ἵνα τί προσηγάγετε πρὸς τὸ τει̃χος (Ⅲ)

- Abiit ergo nuntius, et venit, et narravit David omnia quæ ei præceperat Joab. (Ⅳ)

11. 23

And the messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate.

- Le messager dit à David: Ces gens ont eu sur nous l'avantage; ils avaient fait une sortie contre nous dans les champs, et nous les avons repoussés jusqu'à l'entrée de la porte; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ ἄγγελος πρὸς Δαυιδ ὅτι ἐκραταίωσαν ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς οἱ ἄνδρες καὶ ἐξη̃λθαν ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς εἰς τὸν ἀγρόν καὶ ἐγενήθημεν ἐπ' αὐτοὺς ἕως τη̃ς θύρας τη̃ς πύλης (Ⅲ)

- Et dixit nuntius ad David : Prævaluerunt adversum nos viri, et egressi sunt ad nos in agrum : nos autem facto impetu persecuti eos sumus usque ad portam civitatis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃11 ויאמר המלאך אל דוד כי גברו עלינו האנשים ויצאו אלינו השדה ונהיה עליהם עד פתח השער ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 24

And the shooters shot from off the wall upon thy servants; and some of the king's servants be dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.

- les archers ont tiré du haut de la muraille sur tes serviteurs, et plusieurs des serviteurs du roi ont été tués, et ton serviteur Urie, le Héthien, est mort aussi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐτόξευσαν οἱ τοξεύοντες πρὸς τοὺς παι̃δάς σου ἀπάνωθεν του̃ τείχους καὶ ἀπέθαναν τω̃ν παίδων του̃ βασιλέως καί γε ὁ δου̃λός σου Ουριας ὁ Χετται̃ος ἀπέθανεν (Ⅲ)

- Et direxerunt jacula sagittarii ad servos tuos ex muro desuper, mortuique sunt de servis regis : quin etiam servus tuus Urias Hethæus mortuus est. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃11 *ויראו **וירו *המוראים **המורים אל עבדך מעל החומה וימותו מעבדי המלך וגם עבדך אוריה החתי מת ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 25

Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.

- David dit au messager: Voici ce que tu diras à Joab: Ne sois point peiné de cette affaire, car l'épée dévore tantôt l'un, tantôt l'autre; attaque vigoureusement la ville, et renverse-la. Et toi, encourage-le! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον τάδε ἐρει̃ς πρὸς Ιωαβ μὴ πονηρὸν ἔστω ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς σου τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το ὅτι ποτὲ μὲν οὕτως καὶ ποτὲ οὕτως φάγεται ἡ μάχαιρα κραταίωσον τὸν πόλεμόν σου πρὸς τὴν πόλιν καὶ κατάσπασον αὐτὴν καὶ κραταίωσον αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Et dixit David ad nuntium : Hæc dices Joab : Non te frangat ista res : varius enim eventus est belli, nunc hunc, et nunc illum consumit gladius : conforta bellatores tuos adversus urbem ut destruas eam, et exhortare eos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃11 ויאמר דוד אל המלאך כה תאמר אל יואב אל ירע בעיניך את הדבר הזה כי כזה וכזה תאכל החרב החזק מלחמתך אל העיר והרסה וחזקהו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 26

And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband.

- La femme d'Urie apprit que son mari était mort, et elle pleura son mari. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤκουσεν ἡ γυνὴ Ουριου ὅτι ἀπέθανεν Ουριας ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐκόψατο τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Audivit autem uxor Uriæ quod mortuus esset Urias vir suus, et planxit eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃11 ותשמע אשת אוריה כי מת אוריה אישה ותספד על בעלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 27

And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.

- Quand le deuil fut passé, David l'envoya chercher et la recueillit dans sa maison. Elle devint sa femme, et lui enfanta un fils. Ce que David avait fait déplut à l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διη̃λθεν τὸ πένθος καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Δαυιδ καὶ συνήγαγεν αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐγενήθη αὐτω̨̃ εἰς γυναι̃κα καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτω̨̃ υἱόν καὶ πονηρὸν ἐφάνη τὸ ῥη̃μα ὃ ἐποίησεν Δαυιδ ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Transacto autem luctu, misit David, et introduxit eam in domum suam, et facta est ei uxor, peperitque ei filium : et displicuit verbum hoc quod fecerat David, coram Domino. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃11 ויעבר האבל וישלח דוד ויאספה אל ביתו ותהי לו לאשה ותלד לו בן וירע הדבר אשר עשה דוד בעיני יהוה פ‬ (Ⅴ)
