8. 1

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

- Alors le roi Salomon assembla près de lui à Jérusalem les anciens d'Israël et tous les chefs des tribus, les chefs de famille des enfants d'Israël, pour transporter de la cité de David, qui est Sion, l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ συντελέσαι Σαλωμων του̃ οἰκοδομη̃σαι τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου καὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον ἑαυτου̃ μετὰ εἴκοσι ἔτη τότε ἐξεκκλησίασεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων πάντας τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους Ισραηλ ἐν Σιων του̃ ἀνενεγκει̃ν τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης κυρίου ἐκ πόλεως Δαυιδ αὕτη ἐστὶν Σιων (Ⅲ)

- Tunc congregati sunt omnes majores natu Israël cum principibus tribuum, et duces familiarum filiorum Israël, ad regem Salomonem in Jerusalem, ut deferrent arcam fœderis Domini de civitate David, id est, de Sion. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃8 אז יקהל שלמה את זקני ישראל את כל ראשי המטות נשיאי האבות לבני ישראל אל המלך שלמה ירושלם להעלות את ארון ברית יהוה מעיר דוד היא ציון ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 2

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

- Tous les hommes d'Israël se réunirent auprès du roi Salomon, au mois d'Éthanim, qui est le septième mois, pendant la fête. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν μηνὶ Αθανιν (Ⅲ)

- Convenitque ad regem Salomonem universus Israël in mense Ethanim, in solemni die : ipse est mensis septimus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃8 ויקהלו אל המלך שלמה כל איש ישראל בירח האתנים בחג הוא החדש השביעי ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 3

And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

- Lorsque tous les anciens d'Israël furent arrivés, les sacrificateurs portèrent l'arche. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃ραν οἱ ἱερει̃ς τὴν κιβωτὸν (Ⅲ)

- Veneruntque cuncti senes de Israël, et tulerunt arcam sacerdotes, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃8 ויבאו כל זקני ישראל וישאו הכהנים את הארון ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 4

And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

- Ils transportèrent l'arche de l'Éternel, la tente d'assignation, et tous les ustensiles sacrés qui étaient dans la tente: ce furent les sacrificateurs et les Lévites qui les transportèrent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὸ σκήνωμα του̃ μαρτυρίου καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ ἅγια τὰ ἐν τω̨̃ σκηνώματι του̃ μαρτυρίου (Ⅲ)

- et portaverunt arcam Domini, et tabernaculum fœderis, et omnia vasa sanctuarii quæ erant in tabernaculo : et ferebant ea sacerdotes et Levitæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃8 ויעלו את ארון יהוה ואת אהל מועד ואת כל כלי הקדש אשר באהל ויעלו אתם הכהנים והלוים ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 5

And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

- Le roi Salomon et toute l'assemblée d'Israël convoquée auprès de lui se tinrent devant l'arche. Ils sacrifièrent des brebis et des boeufs, qui ne purent être ni comptés, ni nombrés, à cause de leur multitude. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ πα̃ς Ισραηλ ἔμπροσθεν τη̃ς κιβωτου̃ θύοντες πρόβατα καὶ βόας ἀναρίθμητα (Ⅲ)

- Rex autem Salomon, et omnis multitudo Israël quæ convenerat ad eum, gradiebatur cum illo ante arcam, et immolabant oves et boves absque æstimatione et numero. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃8 והמלך שלמה וכל עדת ישראל הנועדים עליו אתו לפני הארון מזבחים צאן ובקר אשר לא יספרו ולא ימנו מרב ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 6

And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

- Les sacrificateurs portèrent l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel à sa place, dans le sanctuaire de la maison, dans le lieu très saint, sous les ailes des chérubins. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσφέρουσιν οἱ ἱερει̃ς τὴν κιβωτὸν εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτη̃ς εἰς τὸ δαβιρ του̃ οἴκου εἰς τὰ ἅγια τω̃ν ἁγίων ὑπὸ τὰς πτέρυγας τω̃ν χερουβιν (Ⅲ)

- Et intulerunt sacerdotes arcam fœderis Domini in locum suum, in oraculum templi, in Sanctum sanctorum, subter alas cherubim. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃8 ויבאו הכהנים את ארון ברית יהוה אל מקומו אל דביר הבית אל קדש הקדשים אל תחת כנפי הכרובים ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 7

For the cherubim spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

- Car les chérubins avaient les ailes étendues sur la place de l'arche, et ils couvraient l'arche et ses barres par-dessus. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι τὰ χερουβιν διαπεπετασμένα ται̃ς πτέρυξιν ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τη̃ς κιβωτου̃ καὶ περιεκάλυπτον τὰ χερουβιν ἐπὶ τὴν κιβωτὸν καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ ἅγια αὐτη̃ς ἐπάνωθεν (Ⅲ)

- Siquidem cherubim expandebant alas super locum arcæ, et protegebant arcam, et vectes ejus desuper. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃8 כי הכרובים פרשים כנפים אל מקום הארון ויסכו הכרבים על הארון ועל בדיו מלמעלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 8

And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.

- On avait donné aux barres une longueur telle que leurs extrémités se voyaient du lieu saint devant le sanctuaire, mais ne se voyaient point du dehors. Elles ont été là jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὑπερει̃χον τὰ ἡγιασμένα καὶ ἐνεβλέποντο αἱ κεφαλαὶ τω̃ν ἡγιασμένων ἐκ τω̃ν ἁγίων εἰς πρόσωπον του̃ δαβιρ καὶ οὐκ ὠπτάνοντο ἔξω (Ⅲ)

- Cumque eminerent vectes, et apparerent summitates eorum foris sanctuarium ante oraculum, non apparebant ultra extrinsecus, qui et fuerunt ibi usque in præsentem diem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃8 ויארכו הבדים ויראו ראשי הבדים מן הקדש על פני הדביר ולא יראו החוצה ויהיו שם עד היום הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 9

There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

- Il n'y avait dans l'arche que les deux tables de pierre, que Moïse y déposa en Horeb, lorsque l'Éternel fit alliance avec les enfants d'Israël, à leur sortie du pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- οὐκ ἠ̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ κιβωτω̨̃ πλὴν δύο πλάκες λίθιναι πλάκες τη̃ς διαθήκης ἃς ἔθηκεν ἐκει̃ Μωυση̃ς ἐν Χωρηβ ἃ διέθετο κύριος μετὰ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ ἐν τω̨̃ ἐκπορεύεσθαι αὐτοὺς ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- In arca autem non erat aliud nisi duæ tabulæ lapideæ quas posuerat in ea Moyses in Horeb, quando pepigit Dominus fœdus cum filiis Israël, cum egrederentur de terra Ægypti. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃8 אין בארון רק שני לחות האבנים אשר הנח שם משה בחרב אשר כרת יהוה עם בני ישראל בצאתם מארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 10

And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

- Au moment où les sacrificateurs sortirent du lieu saint, la nuée remplit la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἐξη̃λθον οἱ ἱερει̃ς ἐκ του̃ ἁγίου καὶ ἡ νεφέλη ἔπλησεν τὸν οἰ̃κον (Ⅲ)

- Factum est autem cum exissent sacerdotes de sanctuario, nebula implevit domum Domini, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃8 ויהי בצאת הכהנים מן הקדש והענן מלא את בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 11

So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

- Les sacrificateurs ne purent pas y rester pour faire le service, à cause de la nuée; car la gloire de l'Éternel remplissait la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἠδύναντο οἱ ἱερει̃ς στη̃ναι λειτουργει̃ν ἀπὸ προσώπου τη̃ς νεφέλης ὅτι ἔπλησεν δόξα κυρίου τὸν οἰ̃κον (Ⅲ)

- et non poterant sacerdotes stare et ministrare propter nebulam : impleverat enim gloria Domini domum Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃8 ולא יכלו הכהנים לעמד לשרת מפני הענן כי מלא כבוד יהוה את בית יהוה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 12

Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

- Alors Salomon dit: L'Éternel veut habiter dans l'obscurité! (Ⅱ)

- Tunc ait Salomon : Dominus dixit ut habitaret in nebula. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃8 אז אמר שלמה יהוה אמר לשכן בערפל ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 13

I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

- J'ai bâti une maison qui sera ta demeure, un lieu où tu résideras éternellement! (Ⅱ)

- Ædificans ædificavi domum in habitaculum tuum : firmissimum solium tuum in sempiternum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃8 בנה בניתי בית זבל לך מכון לשבתך עולמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 14

And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)

- Le roi tourna son visage, et bénit toute l'assemblée d'Israël; et toute l'assemblée d'Israël était debout. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ καὶ εὐλόγησεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πάντα Ισραηλ καὶ πα̃σα ἐκκλησία Ισραηλ εἱστήκει (Ⅲ)

- Convertitque rex faciem suam, et benedixit omni ecclesiæ Israël : omnia enim ecclesia Israël stabat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃8 ויסב המלך את פניו ויברך את כל קהל ישראל וכל קהל ישראל עמד ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 15

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

- Et il dit: Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui a parlé de sa bouche à David, mon père, et qui accomplit par sa puissance ce qu'il avait déclaré en disant: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν εὐλογητὸς κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ σήμερον ὃς ἐλάλησεν ἐν τω̨̃ στόματι αὐτου̃ περὶ Δαυιδ του̃ πατρός μου καὶ ἐν ται̃ς χερσὶν αὐτου̃ ἐπλήρωσεν λέγων (Ⅲ)

- Et ait Salomon : Benedictus Dominus Deus Israël, qui locutus est ore suo ad David patrem meum, et in manibus ejus perfecit, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃8 ויאמר ברוך יהוה אלהי ישראל אשר דבר בפיו את דוד אבי ובידו מלא לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 16

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

- Depuis le jour où j'ai fait sortir d'Égypte mon peuple d'Israël, je n'ai point choisi de ville parmi toutes les tribus d'Israël pour qu'il y fût bâti une maison où résidât mon nom, mais j'ai choisi David pour qu'il régnât sur mon peuple d'Israël! (Ⅱ)

- ἀφ' ἡ̃ς ἡμέρας ἐξήγαγον τὸν λαόν μου τὸν Ισραηλ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου οὐκ ἐξελεξάμην ἐν πόλει ἐν ἑνὶ σκήπτρω̨ Ισραηλ του̃ οἰκοδομη̃σαι οἰ̃κον του̃ εἰ̃ναι τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐκει̃ καὶ ἐξελεξάμην ἐν Ιερουσαλημ εἰ̃ναι τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐκει̃ καὶ ἐξελεξάμην τὸν Δαυιδ του̃ εἰ̃ναι ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου τὸν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- A die qua eduxi populum meum Israël de Ægypto, non elegi civitatem de universis tribubus Israël, ut ædificaretur domus, et esset nomen meum ibi : sed elegi David ut esset super populum meum Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃8 מן היום אשר הוצאתי את עמי את ישראל ממצרים לא בחרתי בעיר מכל שבטי ישראל לבנות בית להיות שמי שם ואבחר בדוד להיות על עמי ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 17

And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

- David, mon père, avait l'intention de bâtir une maison au nom de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπὶ τη̃ς καρδίας Δαυιδ του̃ πατρός μου οἰκοδομη̃σαι οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ ὀνόματι κυρίου θεου̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Voluitque David pater meus ædificare domum nomini Domini Dei Israël : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃8 ויהי עם לבב דוד אבי לבנות בית לשם יהוה אלהי ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 18

And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.

- Et l'Éternel dit à David, mon père: Puisque tu as eu l'intention de bâtir une maison à mon nom, tu as bien fait d'avoir eu cette intention. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς Δαυιδ τὸν πατέρα μου ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν ἠ̃λθεν ἐπὶ τὴν καρδίαν σου του̃ οἰκοδομη̃σαι οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ ὀνόματί μου καλω̃ς ἐποίησας ὅτι ἐγενήθη ἐπὶ τὴν καρδίαν σου (Ⅲ)

- et ait Dominus ad David patrem meum : Quod cogitasti in corde tuo ædificare domum nomini meo, bene fecisti, hoc ipsum mente tractans. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃8 ויאמר יהוה אל דוד אבי יען אשר היה עם לבבך לבנות בית לשמי הטיבת כי היה עם לבבך ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 19

Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

- Seulement, ce ne sera pas toi qui bâtiras la maison; mais ce sera ton fils, sorti de tes entrailles, qui bâtira la maison à mon nom. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν σὺ οὐκ οἰκοδομήσεις τὸν οἰ̃κον ἀλλ' ἣ ὁ υἱός σου ὁ ἐξελθὼν ἐκ τω̃ν πλευρω̃ν σου οὑ̃τος οἰκοδομήσει τὸν οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ ὀνόματί μου (Ⅲ)

- Verumtamen tu non ædificabis mihi domum, sed filius tuus, qui egredietur de renibus tuis, ipse ædificabit domum nomini meo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃8 רק אתה לא תבנה הבית כי אם בנך היצא מחלציך הוא יבנה הבית לשמי ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 20

And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

- L'Éternel a accompli la parole qu'il avait prononcée. Je me suis élevé à la place de David, mon père, et je me suis assis sur le trône d'Israël, comme l'avait annoncé l'Éternel, et j'ai bâti la maison au nom de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστησεν κύριος τὸ ῥη̃μα αὐτου̃ ὃ ἐλάλησεν καὶ ἀνέστην ἀντὶ Δαυιδ του̃ πατρός μου καὶ ἐκάθισα ἐπὶ του̃ θρόνου Ισραηλ καθὼς ἐλάλησεν κύριος καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησα τὸν οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ ὀνόματι κυρίου θεου̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Confirmavit Dominus sermonem suum quem locutus est : stetique pro David patre meo, et sedi super thronum Israël, sicut locutus est Dominus : et ædificavi domum nomini Domini Dei Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃8 ויקם יהוה את דברו אשר דבר ואקם תחת דוד אבי ואשב על כסא ישראל כאשר דבר יהוה ואבנה הבית לשם יהוה אלהי ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 21

And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

- J'y ai disposé un lieu pour l'arche où est l'alliance de l'Éternel, l'alliance qu'il a faite avec nos pères quand il les fit sortir du pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐθέμην ἐκει̃ τόπον τη̨̃ κιβωτω̨̃ ἐν ἡ̨̃ ἐστιν ἐκει̃ διαθήκη κυρίου ἣν διέθετο κύριος μετὰ τω̃ν πατέρων ἡμω̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ ἐξαγαγει̃ν αὐτὸν αὐτοὺς ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- Et constitui ibi locum arcæ in qua fœdus Domini est, quod percussit cum patribus nostris quando egressi sunt de terra Ægypti.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃8 ואשם שם מקום לארון אשר שם ברית יהוה אשר כרת עם אבתינו בהוציאו אתם מארץ מצרים ס‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 22

And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

- Salomon se plaça devant l'autel de l'Éternel, en face de toute l'assemblée d'Israël. Il étendit ses mains vers le ciel, et il dit: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔστη Σαλωμων κατὰ πρόσωπον του̃ θυσιαστηρίου κυρίου ἐνώπιον πάσης ἐκκλησίας Ισραηλ καὶ διεπέτασεν τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτου̃ εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν (Ⅲ)

- Stetit autem Salomon ante altare Domini in conspectu ecclesiæ Israël, et expandit manus suas in cælum, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃8 ויעמד שלמה לפני מזבח יהוה נגד כל קהל ישראל ויפרש כפיו השמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 23

And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

- O Éternel, Dieu d'Israël! Il n'y a point de Dieu semblable à toi, ni en haut dans les cieux, ni en bas sur la terre: tu gardes l'alliance et la miséricorde envers tes serviteurs qui marchent en ta présence de tout leur coeur! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριε ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ οὐκ ἔστιν ὡς σὺ θεὸς ἐν τω̨̃ οὐρανω̨̃ ἄνω καὶ ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς κάτω φυλάσσων διαθήκην καὶ ἔλεος τω̨̃ δούλω̨ σου τω̨̃ πορευομένω̨ ἐνώπιόν σου ἐν ὅλη̨ τη̨̃ καρδία̨ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- et ait : Domine Deus Israël, non est similis tui deus in cælo desuper, et super terram deorsum : qui custodis pactum et misericordiam servis tuis qui ambulant coram te in toto corde suo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃8 ויאמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אין כמוך אלהים בשמים ממעל ועל הארץ מתחת שמר הברית והחסד לעבדיך ההלכים לפניך בכל לבם ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 24

Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

- Ainsi tu as tenu parole à ton serviteur David, mon père; et ce que tu as déclaré de ta bouche, tu l'accomplis en ce jour par ta puissance. (Ⅱ)

- ἃ ἐφύλαξας τω̨̃ δούλω̨ σου Δαυιδ τω̨̃ πατρί μου καὶ ἐλάλησας ἐν τω̨̃ στόματί σου καὶ ἐν χερσίν σου ἐπλήρωσας ὡς ἡ ἡμέρα αὕτη (Ⅲ)

- Qui custodisti servo tuo David patri meo quæ locutus es ei : ore locutus es, et manibus perfecisti, ut hæc dies probat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃8 אשר שמרת לעבדך דוד אבי את אשר דברת לו ותדבר בפיך ובידך מלאת כיום הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 25

Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

- Maintenant, Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, observe la promesse que tu as faite à David, mon père, en disant: Tu ne manqueras jamais devant moi d'un successeur assis sur le trône d'Israël, pourvu que tes fils prennent garde à leur voie et qu'ils marchent en ma présence comme tu as marché en ma présence. - Nunc igitur Domine Deus Israël, conserva famulo tuo David patri meo quæ locutus es ei, dicens : Non auferetur de te vir coram me, qui sedeat super thronum Israël : ita tamen si custodierint filii tui viam suam, ut ambulent coram me sicut tu ambulasti in conspectu meo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃8 ועתה יהוה אלהי ישראל שמר לעבדך‪[c]‬ דוד אבי את אשר דברת לו לאמר לא יכרת לך איש מלפני ישב על כסא ישראל רק אם ישמרו בניך את דרכם ללכת לפני כאשר הלכת לפני ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 26

And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.

- Oh! qu'elle s'accomplisse, Dieu d'Israël, la promesse que tu as faite à ton serviteur David, mon père! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν κύριε ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ πιστωθήτω δὴ τὸ ῥη̃μά σου τω̨̃ Δαυιδ τω̨̃ πατρί μου (Ⅲ)

- Et nunc Domine Deus Israël, firmentur verba tua quæ locutus es servo tuo David patri meo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃8 ועתה אלהי ישראל יאמן נא *דבריך **דברך אשר דברת לעבדך דוד אבי ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 27

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

- Mais quoi! Dieu habiterait-il véritablement sur la terre? Voici, les cieux et les cieux des cieux ne peuvent te contenir: combien moins cette maison que je t'ai bâtie! (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι εἰ ἀληθω̃ς κατοικήσει ὁ θεὸς μετὰ ἀνθρώπων ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς εἰ ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ὁ οὐρανὸς του̃ οὐρανου̃ οὐκ ἀρκέσουσίν σοι πλὴν καὶ ὁ οἰ̃κος οὑ̃τος ὃν ὠ̨κοδόμησα τω̨̃ ὀνόματί σου (Ⅲ)

- Ergone putandum est quod vere Deus habitet super terram ? si enim cælum, et cæli cælorum, te capere non possunt, quanto magis domus hæc, quam ædificavi ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃8 כי האמנם ישב אלהים על הארץ הנה השמים ושמי השמים לא יכלכלוך אף כי הבית הזה אשר בניתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 28

Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:

- Toutefois, Éternel, mon Dieu, sois attentif à la prière de ton serviteur et à sa supplication; écoute le cri et la prière que t'adresse aujourd'hui ton serviteur. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπιβλέψη̨ ἐπὶ τὴν δέησίν μου κύριε ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἀκούειν τη̃ς τέρψεως ἡ̃ς ὁ δου̃λός σου προσεύχεται ἐνώπιόν σου πρὸς σὲ σήμερον (Ⅲ)

- Sed respice ad orationem servi tui, et ad preces ejus, Domine Deus meus : audi hymnum et orationem quam servus tuus orat coram te hodie : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃8 ופנית אל תפלת עבדך ואל תחנתו יהוה אלהי לשמע אל הרנה ואל התפלה אשר עבדך מתפלל לפניך היום ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 29

That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.

- Que tes yeux soient nuit et jour ouverts sur cette maison, sur le lieu dont tu as dit: Là sera mon nom! Écoute la prière que ton serviteur fait en ce lieu. (Ⅱ)

- του̃ εἰ̃ναι ὀφθαλμούς σου ἠνεω̨γμένους εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃τον ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν εἰ̃πας ἔσται τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐκει̃ του̃ εἰσακούειν τη̃ς προσευχη̃ς ἡ̃ς προσεύχεται ὁ δου̃λός σου εἰς τὸν τόπον του̃τον ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός (Ⅲ)

- ut sint oculi tui aperti super domum hanc nocte ac die : super domum, de qua dixisti : Erit nomen meum ibi : ut exaudias orationem quam orat in loco isto ad te servus tuus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃8 להיות עינך פתחות אל הבית הזה לילה ויום אל המקום אשר אמרת יהיה שמי שם לשמע אל התפלה אשר יתפלל עבדך אל המקום הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 30

And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.

- Daigne exaucer la supplication de ton serviteur et de ton peuple d'Israël, lorsqu'ils prieront en ce lieu! Exauce du lieu de ta demeure, des cieux, exauce et pardonne! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσακούση̨ τη̃ς δεήσεως του̃ δούλου σου καὶ του̃ λαου̃ σου Ισραηλ ἃ ἂν προσεύξωνται εἰς τὸν τόπον του̃τον καὶ σὺ εἰσακούση̨ ἐν τω̨̃ τόπω̨ τη̃ς κατοικήσεώς σου ἐν οὐρανω̨̃ καὶ ποιήσεις καὶ ἵλεως ἔση̨ (Ⅲ)

- ut exaudias deprecationem servi tui et populi tui Israël, quodcumque oraverint in loco isto, et exaudies in loco habitaculi tui in cælo : et cum exaudieris, propitius eris.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃8 ושמעת אל תחנת עבדך ועמך ישראל אשר יתפללו אל המקום הזה ואתה תשמע אל מקום שבתך אל השמים ושמעת וסלחת ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 31

If any man trespass against his neighbor, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:

- Si quelqu'un pèche contre son prochain et qu'on lui impose un serment pour le faire jurer, et s'il vient jurer devant ton autel, dans cette maison, - (Ⅱ)

- ὅσα ἂν ἁμάρτη̨ ἕκαστος τω̨̃ πλησίον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐὰν λάβη̨ ἐπ' αὐτὸν ἀρὰν του̃ ἀρα̃σθαι αὐτόν καὶ ἔλθη̨ καὶ ἐξαγορεύση̨ κατὰ πρόσωπον του̃ θυσιαστηρίου σου ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ τούτω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Si peccaverit homo in proximum suum, et habuerit aliquod juramentum quo teneatur astrictus, et venerit propter juramentum coram altari tuo in domum tuam, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃8 את אשר יחטא איש לרעהו ונשא בו אלה להאלתו ובא אלה לפני מזבחך בבית הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 32

Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

- écoute-le des cieux, agis, et juge tes serviteurs; condamne le coupable, et fais retomber sa conduite sur sa tête; rends justice à l'innocent, et traite-le selon son innocence! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ σὺ εἰσακούσει ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ ποιήσεις καὶ κρινει̃ς τὸν λαόν σου Ισραηλ ἀνομηθη̃ναι ἄνομον δου̃ναι τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτου̃ εἰς κεφαλὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ του̃ δικαιω̃σαι δίκαιον δου̃ναι αὐτω̨̃ κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- tu exaudies in cælo : et facies, et judicabis servos tuos, condemnans impium, et reddens viam suam super caput ejus, justificansque justum, et retribuens ei secundum justitiam suam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃8 ואתה תשמע השמים ועשית ושפטת את עבדיך להרשיע רשע לתת דרכו בראשו ולהצדיק צדיק לתת לו כצדקתו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 33

When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:

- Quand ton peuple d'Israël sera battu par l'ennemi, pour avoir péché contre toi; s'ils reviennent à toi et rendent gloire à ton nom, s'ils t'adressent des prières et des supplications dans cette maison, - (Ⅱ)

- ἐν τω̨̃ πται̃σαι τὸν λαόν σου Ισραηλ ἐνώπιον ἐχθρω̃ν ὅτι ἁμαρτήσονταί σοι καὶ ἐπιστρέψουσιν καὶ ἐξομολογήσονται τω̨̃ ὀνόματί σου καὶ προσεύξονται καὶ δεηθήσονται ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ τούτω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Si fugerit populus tuus Israël inimicos suos (quia peccaturus est tibi), et agentes pœnitentiam, et confitentes nomini tuo, venerint, et oraverint, et deprecati te fuerint in domo hac : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃8 בהנגף עמך ישראל לפני אויב אשר יחטאו לך ושבו אליך והודו את שמך והתפללו והתחננו אליך בבית הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 34

Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.

- exauce-les des cieux, pardonne le péché de ton peuple d'Israël, et ramène-les dans le pays que tu as donné à leurs pères! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ σὺ εἰσακούση̨ ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ ἵλεως ἔση̨ ται̃ς ἁμαρτίαις του̃ λαου̃ σου Ισραηλ καὶ ἀποστρέψεις αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἣν ἔδωκας τοι̃ς πατράσιν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- exaudi in cælo, et dimitte peccatum populi tui Israël, et reduces eos in terram quam dedisti patribus eorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃8 ואתה תשמע השמים וסלחת לחטאת עמך ישראל והשבתם אל האדמה אשר נתת לאבותם ס‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 35

When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:

- Quand le ciel sera fermé et qu'il n'y aura point de pluie, à cause de leurs péchés contre toi, s'ils prient dans ce lieu et rendent gloire à ton nom, et s'ils se détournent de leurs péchés, parce que tu les auras châtiés, - (Ⅱ)

- ἐν τω̨̃ συσχεθη̃ναι τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ μὴ γενέσθαι ὑετόν ὅτι ἁμαρτήσονταί σοι καὶ προσεύξονται εἰς τὸν τόπον του̃τον καὶ ἐξομολογήσονται τω̨̃ ὀνόματί σου καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν ἁμαρτιω̃ν αὐτω̃ν ἀποστρέψουσιν ὅταν ταπεινώση̨ς αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Si clausum fuerit cælum, et non pluerit propter peccata eorum, et orantes in loco isto, pœnitentiam egerint nomini tuo, et a peccatis suis conversi fuerint propter afflictionem suam : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃8 בהעצר שמים ולא יהיה מטר כי יחטאו לך והתפללו אל המקום הזה והודו את שמך ומחטאתם ישובון כי תענם ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 36

Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

- exauce-les des cieux, pardonne le péché de tes serviteurs et de ton peuple d'Israël, à qui tu enseigneras la bonne voie dans laquelle ils doivent marcher, et fais venir la pluie sur la terre que tu as donnée en héritage à ton peuple! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσακούση̨ ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ ἵλεως ἔση̨ ται̃ς ἁμαρτίαις του̃ δούλου σου καὶ του̃ λαου̃ σου Ισραηλ ὅτι δηλώσεις αὐτοι̃ς τὴν ὁδὸν τὴν ἀγαθὴν πορεύεσθαι ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ δώσεις ὑετὸν ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν ἣν ἔδωκας τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ σου ἐν κληρονομία̨ (Ⅲ)

- exaudi eos in cælo, et dimitte peccata servorum tuorum, et populi tui Israël : et ostende eis viam bonam per quam ambulent, et da pluviam super terram tuam, quam dedisti populo tuo in possessionem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃8 ואתה תשמע השמים וסלחת לחטאת עבדיך ועמך ישראל כי תורם את הדרך הטובה אשר ילכו בה ונתתה מטר על ארצך אשר נתתה לעמך לנחלה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 37

If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;

- Quand la famine, la peste, la rouille, la nielle, les sauterelles d'une espèce ou d'une autre, seront dans le pays, quand l'ennemi assiégera ton peuple dans son pays, dans ses portes, quand il y aura des fléaux ou des maladies quelconques; (Ⅱ)

- λιμὸς ἐὰν γένηται θάνατος ἐὰν γένηται ὅτι ἔσται ἐμπυρισμός βρου̃χος ἐρυσίβη ἐὰν γένηται καὶ ἐὰν θλίψη̨ αὐτὸν ἐχθρὸς αὐτου̃ ἐν μια̨̃ τω̃ν πόλεων αὐτου̃ πα̃ν συνάντημα πα̃ν πόνον (Ⅲ)

- Fames si oborta fuerit in terra, aut pestilentia, aut corruptus aër, aut ærugo, aut locusta, vel rubigo, et afflixerit eum inimicus ejus portas obsidens : omnis plaga, universa infirmitas, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃8 רעב כי יהיה בארץ דבר כי יהיה שדפון ירקון ארבה חסיל כי יהיה כי יצר לו איבו בארץ שעריו כל נגע כל מחלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 38

What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

- si un homme, si tout ton peuple d'Israël fait entendre des prières et des supplications, et que chacun reconnaisse la plaie de son coeur et étende les mains vers cette maison, - (Ⅱ)

- πα̃σαν προσευχήν πα̃σαν δέησιν ἐὰν γένηται παντὶ ἀνθρώπω̨ ὡς ἂν γνω̃σιν ἕκαστος ἁφὴν καρδίας αὐτου̃ καὶ διαπετάση̨ τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτου̃ εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃τον (Ⅲ)

- cuncta devotatio, et imprecatio quæ acciderit omni homini de populo tuo Israël : si quis cognoverit plagam cordis sui, et expanderit manus suas in domo hac, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃8 כל תפלה כל תחנה אשר תהיה לכל האדם לכל עמך ישראל אשר ידעון איש נגע לבבו ופרש כפיו אל הבית הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 39

Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)

- exauce-le des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et pardonne; agis, et rends à chacun selon ses voies, toi qui connais le coeur de chacun, car seul tu connais le coeur de tous les enfants des hommes, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ σὺ εἰσακούση̨ ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἐξ ἑτοίμου κατοικητηρίου σου καὶ ἵλεως ἔση̨ καὶ ποιήσεις καὶ δώσεις ἀνδρὶ κατὰ τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτου̃ καθὼς ἂν γνω̨̃ς τὴν καρδίαν αὐτου̃ ὅτι σὺ μονώτατος οἰ̃δας τὴν καρδίαν πάντων υἱω̃ν ἀνθρώπων (Ⅲ)

- tu exaudies in cælo in loco habitationis tuæ, et repropitiaberis, et facies ut des unicuique secundum omnes vias suas, sicut videris cor ejus (quia tu nosti solus cor omnium filiorum hominum), (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃8 ואתה תשמע השמים מכון שבתך וסלחת ועשית ונתת לאיש ככל דרכיו אשר תדע את לבבו כי אתה ידעת לבדך את לבב כל בני האדם ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 40

That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

- et ils te craindront tout le temps qu'ils vivront dans le pays que tu as donné à nos pères! (Ⅱ)

- ὅπως φοβω̃νταί σε πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἃς αὐτοὶ ζω̃σιν ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἡ̃ς ἔδωκας τοι̃ς πατράσιν ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- ut timeant te cunctis diebus quibus vivunt super faciem terræ quam dedisti patribus nostris.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃8 למען יראוך כל הימים אשר הם חיים על פני האדמה אשר נתתה לאבתינו ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 41

Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake;

- Quand l'étranger, qui n'est pas de ton peuple d'Israël, viendra d'un pays lointain, à cause de ton nom, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τω̨̃ ἀλλοτρίω̨ ὃς οὐκ ἔστιν ἀπὸ λαου̃ σου οὑ̃τος (Ⅲ)

- Insuper et alienigena, qui non est de populo tuo Israël, cum venerit de terra longinqua propter nomen tuum (audietur enim nomen tuum magnum, et manus tua fortis, et brachium tuum (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃8 וגם אל הנכרי אשר לא מעמך ישראל הוא ובא מארץ רחוקה למען שמך ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 42

(For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

- car on saura que ton nom est grand, ta main forte, et ton bras étendu, quand il viendra prier dans cette maison, - (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἥξουσιν καὶ προσεύξονται εἰς τὸν τόπον του̃τον (Ⅲ)

- extentum ubique), cum venerit ergo, et oraverit in hoc loco, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃8 כי ישמעון את שמך הגדול ואת ידך החזקה וזרעך הנטויה ובא והתפלל אל הבית הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 43

Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.

- exauce-le des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et accorde à cet étranger tout ce qu'il te demandera, afin que tous les peuples de la terre connaissent ton nom pour te craindre, comme ton peuple d'Israël, et sachent que ton nom est invoqué sur cette maison que j'ai bâtie! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ σὺ εἰσακούση̨ ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἐξ ἑτοίμου κατοικητηρίου σου καὶ ποιήσεις κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐπικαλέσηταί σε ὁ ἀλλότριος ὅπως γνω̃σιν πάντες οἱ λαοὶ τὸ ὄνομά σου καὶ φοβω̃νταί σε καθὼς ὁ λαός σου Ισραηλ καὶ γνω̃σιν ὅτι τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐπικέκληται ἐπὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃τον ὃν ὠ̨κοδόμησα (Ⅲ)

- tu exaudies in cælo, in firmamento habitaculi tui, et facies omnia pro quibus invocaverit te alienigena : ut discant universi populi terrarum nomen tuum timere, sicut populus tuus Israël, et probent quia nomen tuum invocatum est super domum hanc quam ædificavi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃8 אתה תשמע השמים מכון שבתך ועשית ככל אשר יקרא אליך הנכרי למען ידעון כל עמי הארץ את שמך ליראה אתך כעמך ישראל ולדעת כי שמך נקרא על הבית הזה אשר בניתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 44

If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:

- Quand ton peuple sortira pour combattre son ennemi, en suivant la voie que tu lui auras prescrite; s'ils adressent à l'Éternel des prières, les regards tournés vers la ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie à ton nom, (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἐξελεύσεται ὁ λαός σου εἰς πόλεμον ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτου̃ ἐν ὁδω̨̃ ἡ̨̃ ἐπιστρέψεις αὐτούς καὶ προσεύξονται ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου ὁδὸν τη̃ς πόλεως ἡ̃ς ἐξελέξω ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ του̃ οἴκου οὑ̃ ὠ̨κοδόμησα τω̨̃ ὀνόματί σου (Ⅲ)

- Si egressus fuerit populus tuus ad bellum contra inimicos suos per viam, quocumque miseris eos, orabunt te contra viam civitatis quam elegisti, et contra domum quam ædificavi nomini tuo, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 44 ׃8 כי יצא עמך למלחמה על איבו בדרך אשר תשלחם והתפללו אל יהוה דרך העיר אשר בחרת בה והבית אשר בנתי לשמך ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 45

Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

- exauce des cieux leurs prières et leurs supplications, et fais-leur droit! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσακούσει ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ τη̃ς δεήσεως αὐτω̃ν καὶ τη̃ς προσευχη̃ς αὐτω̃ν καὶ ποιήσεις τὸ δικαίωμα αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- et exaudies in cælo orationes eorum et preces eorum, et facies judicium eorum.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 45 ׃8 ושמעת השמים את תפלתם ואת תחנתם ועשית משפטם ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 46

If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

- Quand ils pécheront contre toi, car il n'y a point d'homme qui ne pèche, quand tu seras irrité contre eux et que tu les livreras à l'ennemi, qui les emmènera captifs dans un pays ennemi, lointain ou rapproché; (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἁμαρτήσονταί σοι ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἄνθρωπος ὃς οὐχ ἁμαρτήσεται καὶ ἐπάξεις ἐπ' αὐτοὺς καὶ παραδώσεις αὐτοὺς ἐνώπιον ἐχθρω̃ν καὶ αἰχμαλωτιου̃σιν αὐτοὺς οἱ αἰχμαλωτίζοντες εἰς γη̃ν μακρὰν καὶ ἐγγύς (Ⅲ)

- Quod si peccaverint tibi (non est enim homo qui non peccet) et iratus tradideris eos inimicis suis, et captivi ducti fuerint in terram inimicorum longe vel prope, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 46 ׃8 כי יחטאו לך כי אין אדם אשר לא יחטא ואנפת בם ונתתם לפני אויב ושבום שביהם אל ארץ האויב רחוקה או קרובה ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 47

Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

- s'ils rentrent en eux-mêmes dans le pays où ils seront captifs, s'ils reviennent à toi et t'adressent des supplications dans le pays de ceux qui les ont emmenés, et qu'ils disent: Nous avons péché, nous avons commis des iniquités, nous avons fait le mal! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπιστρέψουσιν καρδίας αὐτω̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ οὑ̃ μετήχθησαν ἐκει̃ καὶ ἐπιστρέψωσιν καὶ δεηθω̃σίν σου ἐν γη̨̃ μετοικίας αὐτω̃ν λέγοντες ἡμάρτομεν ἠνομήσαμεν ἠδικήσαμεν (Ⅲ)

- et egerint pœnitentiam in corde suo in loco captivitatis, et conversi deprecati te fuerint in captivitate sua, dicentes : Peccavimus : inique egimus, impie gessimus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 47 ׃8 והשיבו אל לבם בארץ אשר נשבו שם ושבו והתחננו אליך בארץ שביהם לאמר חטאנו והעוינו רשענו ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 48

And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

- s'ils reviennent à toi de tout leur coeur et de toute leur âme, dans le pays de leurs ennemis qui les ont emmenés captifs, s'ils t'adressent des prières, les regards tournés vers leur pays que tu as donné à leurs pères, vers la ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie à ton nom, - (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπιστρέψωσιν πρὸς σὲ ἐν ὅλη̨ καρδία̨ αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐν ὅλη̨ ψυχη̨̃ αὐτω̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ ἐχθρω̃ν αὐτω̃ν οὑ̃ μετήγαγες αὐτούς καὶ προσεύξονται πρὸς σὲ ὁδὸν γη̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἡ̃ς ἔδωκας τοι̃ς πατράσιν αὐτω̃ν τη̃ς πόλεως ἡ̃ς ἐξελέξω καὶ του̃ οἴκου οὑ̃ ὠ̨κοδόμηκα τω̨̃ ὀνόματί σου (Ⅲ)

- et reversi fuerint ad te in universo corde suo et tota anima sua in terra inimicorum suorum, ad quam captivi ducti fuerint : et oraverint te contra viam terræ suæ, quam dedisti patribus eorum, et civitatis quam elegisti, et templi quod ædificavi nomini tuo : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 48 ׃8 ושבו אליך בכל לבבם ובכל נפשם בארץ איביהם אשר שבו אתם והתפללו אליך דרך ארצם אשר נתתה לאבותם העיר אשר בחרת והבית אשר *בנית **בניתי לשמך ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 49

Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

- exauce des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, leurs prières et leurs supplications, et fais-leur droit; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσακούση̨ ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἐξ ἑτοίμου κατοικητηρίου σου (Ⅲ)

- exaudies in cælo, in firmamento solii tui, orationes eorum et preces eorum, et facies judicium eorum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 49 ׃8 ושמעת השמים מכון שבתך את תפלתם ואת תחנתם ועשית משפטם ‬ (Ⅴ)

8. 50

And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

- pardonne à ton peuple ses péchés et toutes ses transgressions contre toi; excite la compassion de ceux qui les retiennent captifs, afin qu'ils aient pitié d'eux, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἵλεως ἔση̨ ται̃ς ἀδικίαις αὐτω̃ν αἱ̃ς ἥμαρτόν σοι καὶ κατὰ πάντα τὰ ἀθετήματα αὐτω̃ν ἃ ἠθέτησάν σοι καὶ δώσεις αὐτοὺς εἰς οἰκτιρμοὺς ἐνώπιον αἰχμαλωτευόντων αὐτούς καὶ οἰκτιρήσουσιν αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- et propitiaberis populo tuo qui peccavit tibi, et omnibus iniquitatibus eorum quibus prævaricati sunt in te : et dabis misericordiam coram eis qui eos captivos habuerint, ut misereantur eis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 50 ׃8 וסלחת לעמך אשר חטאו לך ולכל פשעיהם אשר פשעו בך ונתתם לרחמים לפני שביהם ורחמום ‬ (Ⅴ)
