10. 1

And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab's children, saying,

- Il y avait dans Samarie soixante-dix fils d'Achab. Jéhu écrivit des lettres qu'il envoya à Samarie aux chefs de Jizreel, aux anciens, et aux gouverneurs des enfants d'Achab. Il y était dit: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τω̨̃ Αχααβ ἑβδομήκοντα υἱοὶ ἐν Σαμαρεία̨ καὶ ἔγραψεν Ιου βιβλίον καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἐν Σαμαρεία̨ πρὸς τοὺς ἄρχοντας Σαμαρείας καὶ πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους καὶ πρὸς τοὺς τιθηνοὺς υἱω̃ν Αχααβ λέγων (Ⅲ)

- Erant autem Achab septuaginta filii in Samaria : scripsit ergo Jehu litteras, et misit in Samariam, ad optimates civitatis, et ad majores natu, et ad nutritios Achab, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃10 ולאחאב שבעים בנים בשמרון ויכתב יהוא ספרים וישלח שמרון אל שרי יזרעאל הזקנים ואל האמנים אחאב לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 2

Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master's sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armor;

- Maintenant, quand cette lettre vous sera parvenue, -puisque vous avez avec vous les fils de votre maître, avec vous les chars et les chevaux, une ville forte et les armes, - (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν ὡς ἐὰν ἔλθη̨ τὸ βιβλίον του̃το πρὸς ὑμα̃ς μεθ' ὑμω̃ν οἱ υἱοὶ του̃ κυρίου ὑμω̃ν καὶ μεθ' ὑμω̃ν τὸ ἅρμα καὶ οἱ ἵπποι καὶ πόλεις ὀχυραὶ καὶ τὰ ὅπλα (Ⅲ)

- Statim ut acceperitis litteras has, qui habetis filios domini vestri, et currus, et equos, et civitates firmas, et arma, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃10 ועתה כבא הספר הזה אליכם ואתכם בני אדניכם ואתכם הרכב והסוסים ועיר מבצר והנשק ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 3

Look even out the best and meetest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.

- voyez lequel des fils de votre maître est le meilleur et convient le mieux, mettez-le sur le trône de son père, et combattez pour la maison de votre maître! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὄψεσθε τὸν ἀγαθὸν καὶ τὸν εὐθη̃ ἐν τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς του̃ κυρίου ὑμω̃ν καὶ καταστήσετε αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν θρόνον του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ πολεμει̃τε ὑπὲρ του̃ οἴκου του̃ κυρίου ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- eligite meliorem, et eum qui vobis placuerit de filiis domini vestri, et eum ponite super solium patris sui, et pugnate pro domo domini vestri. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃10 וראיתם הטוב והישר מבני אדניכם ושמתם על כסא אביו והלחמו על בית אדניכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 4

But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?

- Ils eurent une très grande peur, et ils dirent: Voici, deux rois n'ont pu lui résister; comment résisterions-nous? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν σφόδρα καὶ εἰ̃πον ἰδοὺ οἱ δύο βασιλει̃ς οὐκ ἔστησαν κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ καὶ πω̃ς στησόμεθα ἡμει̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Timuerunt illi vehementer, et dixerunt : Ecce duo reges non potuerunt stare coram eo, et quomodo nos valebimus resistere ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃10 ויראו מאד מאד ויאמרו הנה שני המלכים לא עמדו לפניו ואיך נעמד אנחנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 5

And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.

- Et le chef de la maison, le chef de la ville, les anciens, et les gouverneurs des enfants, envoyèrent dire à Jéhu: Nous sommes tes serviteurs, et nous ferons tout ce que tu nous diras; nous n'établirons personne roi, fais ce qui te semble bon. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλαν οἱ ἐπὶ του̃ οἴκου καὶ οἱ ἐπὶ τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι καὶ οἱ τιθηνοὶ πρὸς Ιου λέγοντες παι̃δές σου ἡμει̃ς καὶ ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπη̨ς πρὸς ἡμα̃ς ποιήσομεν οὐ βασιλεύσομεν ἄνδρα τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς σου ποιήσομεν (Ⅲ)

- Miserunt ergo præpositi domus, et præfecti civitatis, et majores natu, et nutritii, ad Jehu, dicentes : Servi tui sumus : quæcumque jusseris faciemus, nec constituemus nobis regem : quæcumque tibi placent, fac. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃10 וישלח אשר על הבית ואשר על העיר והזקנים והאמנים אל יהוא לאמר עבדיך אנחנו וכל אשר תאמר אלינו נעשה לא נמליך איש הטוב בעיניך עשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 6

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.

- Jéhu leur écrivit une seconde lettre où il était dit: Si vous êtes à moi et si vous obéissez à ma voix, prenez les têtes de ces hommes, fils de votre maître, et venez auprès de moi demain à cette heure, à Jizreel. Or les soixante-dix fils du roi étaient chez les grands de la ville, qui les élevaient. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔγραψεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς βιβλίον δεύτερον λέγων εἰ ἐμοὶ ὑμει̃ς καὶ τη̃ς φωνη̃ς μου ὑμει̃ς εἰσακούετε λάβετε τὴν κεφαλὴν ἀνδρω̃ν τω̃ν υἱω̃ν του̃ κυρίου ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἐνέγκατε πρός με ὡς ἡ ὥρα αὔριον εἰς Ιεζραελ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ του̃ βασιλέως ἠ̃σαν ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρες οὑ̃τοι ἁδροὶ τη̃ς πόλεως ἐξέτρεφον αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Rescripsit autem eis litteras secundo, dicens : Si mei estis, et obeditis mihi, tollite capita filiorum domini vestri, et venite ad me hac eadem hora cras in Jezrahel. Porro filii regis, septuaginta viri, apud optimates civitates nutriebantur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃10 ויכתב אליהם ספר שנית לאמר אם לי אתם ולקלי אתם שמעים קחו את ראשי אנשי בני אדניכם ובאו אלי כעת מחר יזרעאלה ובני המלך שבעים איש את גדלי העיר מגדלים אותם ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 7

And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.

- Quand la lettre leur fut parvenue, ils prirent les fils du roi, et ils égorgèrent ces soixante-dix hommes; puis ils mirent leurs têtes dans des corbeilles, et les envoyèrent à Jéhu, à Jizreel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἠ̃λθεν τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς αὐτούς καὶ ἔλαβον τοὺς υἱοὺς του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἔσφαξαν αὐτούς ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας καὶ ἔθηκαν τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτω̃ν ἐν καρτάλλοις καὶ ἀπέστειλαν αὐτὰς πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰς Ιεζραελ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque venissent litteras ad eos, tulerunt filios regis, et occiderunt septuaginta viros, et posuerunt capita eorum in cophinis, et miserunt ad eum in Jezrahel. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃10 ויהי כבא הספר אליהם ויקחו את בני המלך וישחטו שבעים איש וישימו את ראשיהם בדודים וישלחו אליו יזרעאלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 8

And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.

- Le messager vint l'en informer, en disant: Ils ont apporté les têtes des fils du roi. Et il dit: Mettez-les en deux tas à l'entrée de la porte, jusqu'au matin. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθεν ὁ ἄγγελος καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν λέγων ἤνεγκαν τὰς κεφαλὰς τω̃ν υἱω̃ν του̃ βασιλέως καὶ εἰ̃πεν θέτε αὐτὰς βουνοὺς δύο παρὰ τὴν θύραν τη̃ς πύλης εἰς πρωί (Ⅲ)

- Venit autem nuntius, et indicavit ei, dicens : Attulerunt capita filiorum regis. Qui respondit : Ponite ea ad duos acervos juxta introitum portæ usque mane. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃10 ויבא המלאך ויגד לו לאמר הביאו ראשי בני המלך ויאמר שימו אתם שני צברים פתח השער עד הבקר ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 9

And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?

- Le matin, il sortit; et se présentant à tout le peuple, il dit: Vous êtes justes! voici, moi, j'ai conspiré contre mon maître et je l'ai tué; mais qui a frappé tous ceux-ci? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο πρωὶ καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν καὶ ἔστη ἐν τω̨̃ πυλω̃νι τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς πάντα τὸν λαόν δίκαιοι ὑμει̃ς ἰδοὺ ἐγώ εἰμι συνεστράφην ἐπὶ τὸν κύριόν μου καὶ ἀπέκτεινα αὐτόν καὶ τίς ἐπάταξεν πάντας τούτους (Ⅲ)

- Cumque diluxisset, egressus est, et stans dixit ad omnem populum : Justi estis : si ego conjuravi contra dominum meum et interfeci eum, quis percussit omnes hos ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃10 ויהי בבקר ויצא ויעמד ויאמר אל כל העם צדקים אתם הנה אני קשרתי על אדני ואהרגהו ומי הכה את כל אלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 10

Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.

- Sachez donc qu'il ne tombera rien à terre de la parole de l'Éternel, de la parole que l'Éternel a prononcée contre la maison d'Achab; l'Éternel accomplit ce qu'il a déclaré par son serviteur Élie. (Ⅱ)

- ἴδετε αφφω ὅτι οὐ πεσει̃ται ἀπὸ του̃ ῥήματος κυρίου εἰς τὴν γη̃ν οὑ̃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐπὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον Αχααβ καὶ κύριος ἐποίησεν ὅσα ἐλάλησεν ἐν χειρὶ δούλου αὐτου̃ Ηλιου (Ⅲ)

- videte ergo nunc quoniam non cecidit de sermonibus Domini in terram, quos locutus est Dominus super domum Achab : et Dominus fecit quod locutus est in manu servi sui Eliæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃10 דעו אפוא כי לא יפל מדבר יהוה ארצה אשר דבר יהוה על בית אחאב ויהוה עשה את אשר דבר ביד עבדו אליהו ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 11

So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolk, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.

- Et Jéhu frappa tous ceux qui restaient de la maison d'Achab à Jizreel, tous ses grands, ses familiers et ses ministres, sans en laisser échapper un seul. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπάταξεν Ιου πάντας τοὺς καταλειφθέντας ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ Αχααβ ἐν Ιεζραελ καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἁδροὺς αὐτου̃ καὶ τοὺς γνωστοὺς αὐτου̃ καὶ τοὺς ἱερει̃ς αὐτου̃ ὥστε μὴ καταλιπει̃ν αὐτου̃ κατάλειμμα (Ⅲ)

- Percussit igitur Jehu omnes qui reliqui erant de domo Achab in Jezrahel, et universos optimates ejus, et notos, et sacerdotes, donec non remanerent ex eo reliquiæ.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃10 ויך יהוא את כל הנשארים לבית אחאב ביזרעאל וכל גדליו ומידעיו וכהניו עד בלתי השאיר לו שריד ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 12

And he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing house in the way,

- Puis il se leva, et partit pour aller à Samarie. Arrivé à une maison de réunion des bergers, sur le chemin, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς Σαμάρειαν αὐτὸς ἐν Βαιθακαδ τω̃ν ποιμένων ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et surrexit, et venit in Samariam : cumque venisset ad Cameram pastorum in via, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃10 ויקם ויבא וילך שמרון הוא בית עקד הרעים בדרך ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 13

Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.

- Jéhu trouva les frères d'Achazia, roi de Juda, et il dit: Qui êtes-vous? Ils répondirent: Nous sommes les frères d'Achazia, et nous descendons pour saluer les fils du roi et les fils de la reine. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Ιου εὑ̃ρεν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς Οχοζιου βασιλέως Ιουδα καὶ εἰ̃πεν τίνες ὑμει̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πον οἱ ἀδελφοὶ Οχοζιου ἡμει̃ς καὶ κατέβημεν εἰς εἰρήνην τω̃ν υἱω̃ν του̃ βασιλέως καὶ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν τη̃ς δυναστευούσης (Ⅲ)

- invenit fratres Ochoziæ regis Juda : dixitque ad eos : Quinam estis vos ? Qui responderunt : Fratres Ochoziæ sumus, et descendimus ad salutandos filios regis, et filios reginæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃10 ויהוא מצא את אחי אחזיהו מלך יהודה ויאמר מי אתם ויאמרו אחי אחזיהו אנחנו ונרד לשלום בני המלך ובני הגבירה ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 14

And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.

- Jéhu dit: Saisissez-les vivants. Et ils les saisirent vivants, et les égorgèrent au nombre de quarante-deux, à la citerne de la maison de réunion; Jéhu n'en laissa échapper aucun. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν συλλάβετε αὐτοὺς ζω̃ντας καὶ συνέλαβον αὐτοὺς ζω̃ντας καὶ ἔσφαξαν αὐτοὺς εἰς Βαιθακαδ τεσσαράκοντα καὶ δύο ἄνδρας οὐ κατέλιπεν ἄνδρα ἐξ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Qui ait : Comprehendite eos vivos. Quos cum comprehendissent vivos, jugulaverunt eos in cisterna juxta Cameram, quadraginta duos viros : et non reliquit ex eis quemquam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃10 ויאמר תפשום חיים ויתפשום חיים וישחטום אל בור בית עקד ארבעים ושנים איש ולא השאיר איש מהם ס‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 15

And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

- Étant parti de là, il rencontra Jonadab, fils de Récab, qui venait au-devant de lui. Il le salua, et lui dit: Ton coeur est-il sincère, comme mon coeur l'est envers le tien? Et Jonadab répondit: Il l'est. S'il l'est, répliqua Jéhu, donne-moi ta main. Jonadab lui donna la main. Et Jéhu le fit monter auprès de lui dans son char, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐκει̃θεν καὶ εὑ̃ρεν τὸν Ιωναδαβ υἱὸν Ρηχαβ ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτόν καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ιου εἰ ἔστιν καρδία σου μετὰ καρδίας μου εὐθει̃α καθὼς ἡ καρδία μου μετὰ τη̃ς καρδίας σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωναδαβ ἔστιν καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιου καὶ εἰ ἔστιν δὸς τὴν χει̃ρά σου καὶ ἔδωκεν τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀνεβίβασεν αὐτὸν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ ἅρμα (Ⅲ)

- Cumque abiisset inde, invenit Jonadab filium Rechab in occursum sibi, et benedixit ei. Et ait ad eum : Numquid est cor tuum rectum, sicut cor meum cum corde tuo ? Et ait Jonadab : Est. Si est, inquit, da manum tuam. Qui dedit ei manum suam. At ille levavit eum ad se in currum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃10 וילך משם וימצא את יהונדב בן רכב לקראתו ויברכהו ויאמר אליו היש את לבבך ישר כאשר לבבי עם לבבך ויאמר יהונדב יש ויש תנה את ידך ויתן ידו ויעלהו אליו אל המרכבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 16

And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.

- et dit: Viens avec moi, et tu verras mon zèle pour l'Éternel. Il l'emmena ainsi dans son char. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτόν δευ̃ρο μετ' ἐμου̃ καὶ ἰδὲ ἐν τω̨̃ ζηλω̃σαί με τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ Σαβαωθ καὶ ἐπεκάθισεν αὐτὸν ἐν τω̨̃ ἅρματι αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- dixitque ad eum : Veni mecum, et vide zelum meum pro Domino. Et impositum in curru suo (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃10 ויאמר לכה אתי וראה בקנאתי ליהוה וירכבו אתו ברכבו ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 17

And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spake to Elijah.

- Lorsque Jéhu fut arrivé à Samarie, il frappa tous ceux qui restaient d'Achab à Samarie, et il les détruisit entièrement, selon la parole que l'Éternel avait dite à Élie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθεν εἰς Σαμάρειαν καὶ ἐπάταξεν πάντας τοὺς καταλειφθέντας του̃ Αχααβ ἐν Σαμαρεία̨ ἕως του̃ ἀφανίσαι αὐτὸν κατὰ τὸ ῥη̃μα κυρίου ὃ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς Ηλιου (Ⅲ)

- duxit in Samariam. Et percussit omnes qui reliqui fuerant de Achab in Samaria usque ad unum, juxta verbum Domini quod locutus est per Eliam.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃10 ויבא שמרון ויך את כל הנשארים לאחאב בשמרון עד השמידו כדבר יהוה אשר דבר אל אליהו פ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 18

And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.

- Puis il assembla tout le peuple, et leur dit: Achab a peu servi Baal, Jéhu le servira beaucoup. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνήθροισεν Ιου πάντα τὸν λαὸν καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτούς Αχααβ ἐδούλευσεν τω̨̃ Βααλ ὀλίγα καί γε Ιου δουλεύσει αὐτω̨̃ πολλά (Ⅲ)

- Congregavit ergo Jehu omnem populum, et dixit ad eos : Achab coluit Baal parum, ego autem colam eum amplius. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃10 ויקבץ יהוא את כל העם ויאמר אלהם אחאב עבד את הבעל מעט יהוא יעבדנו הרבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 19

Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.

- Maintenant convoquez auprès de moi tous les prophètes de Baal, tous ses serviteurs et tous ses prêtres, sans qu'il en manque un seul, car je veux offrir un grand sacrifice à Baal: quiconque manquera ne vivra pas. Jéhu agissait avec ruse, pour faire périr les serviteurs de Baal. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν πάντες οἱ προφη̃ται του̃ Βααλ πάντας τοὺς δούλους αὐτου̃ καὶ τοὺς ἱερει̃ς αὐτου̃ καλέσατε πρός με ἀνὴρ μὴ ἐπισκεπήτω ὅτι θυσία μεγάλη μοι τω̨̃ Βααλ πα̃ς ὃς ἐὰν ἐπισκεπη̨̃ οὐ ζήσεται καὶ Ιου ἐποίησεν ἐν πτερνισμω̨̃ ἵνα ἀπολέση̨ τοὺς δούλους του̃ Βααλ (Ⅲ)

- Nunc igitur omnes prophetas Baal, et universos servos ejus, et cunctos sacerdotes ipsius vocate ad me : nullus sit qui non veniat : sacrificium enim grande est mihi Baal : quicumque defuerit, non vivet. Porro Jehu faciebat hoc insidiose, ut disperderet cultores Baal. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃10 ועתה כל נביאי הבעל כל עבדיו וכל כהניו קראו אלי איש אל יפקד כי זבח גדול לי לבעל כל אשר יפקד לא יחיה ויהוא עשה בעקבה למען האביד את עבדי הבעל ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 20

And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.

- Il dit: Publiez une fête en l'honneur de Baal. Et ils la publièrent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιου ἁγιάσατε ἱερείαν τω̨̃ Βααλ καὶ ἐκήρυξαν (Ⅲ)

- Et dixit : Sanctificate diem solemnem Baal. Vocavitque, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃10 ויאמר יהוא קדשו עצרה לבעל ויקראו ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 21

And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.

- Il envoya des messagers dans tout Israël; et tous les serviteurs de Baal arrivèrent, il n'y en eut pas un qui ne vînt; ils entrèrent dans la maison de Baal, et la maison de Baal fut remplie d'un bout à l'autre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ιου ἐν παντὶ Ισραηλ λέγων καὶ νυ̃ν πάντες οἱ δου̃λοι του̃ Βααλ καὶ πάντες οἱ ἱερει̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ πάντες οἱ προφη̃ται αὐτου̃ μηδεὶς ἀπολειπέσθω ὅτι θυσίαν μεγάλην ποιω̃ ὃς ἂν ἀπολειφθη̨̃ οὐ ζήσεται καὶ ἠ̃λθον πάντες οἱ δου̃λοι του̃ Βααλ καὶ πάντες οἱ ἱερει̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ πάντες οἱ προφη̃ται αὐτου̃ οὐ κατελείφθη ἀνήρ ὃς οὐ παρεγένετο καὶ εἰση̃λθον εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ Βααλ καὶ ἐπλήσθη ὁ οἰ̃κος του̃ Βααλ στόμα εἰς στόμα (Ⅲ)

- et misit in universos terminos Israël, et venerunt cuncti servi Baal : non fuit residuus ne unus quidem qui non veniret. Et ingressi sunt templum Baal : et repleta est domus Baal, a summo usque ad summum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃10 וישלח יהוא בכל ישראל ויבאו כל עבדי הבעל ולא נשאר איש אשר לא בא ויבאו בית הבעל וימלא בית הבעל פה לפה ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 22

And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.

- Jéhu dit à celui qui avait la garde du vestiaire: Sors des vêtements pour tous les serviteurs de Baal. Et cet homme sortit des vêtements pour eux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιου τω̨̃ ἐπὶ του̃ οἴκου μεσθααλ ἐξάγαγε ἐνδύματα πα̃σι τοι̃ς δούλοις του̃ Βααλ καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν αὐτοι̃ς ὁ στολιστής (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque his qui erant super vestes : Proferte vestimenta universis servis Baal. Et protulerunt eis vestes. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃10 ויאמר לאשר על המלתחה הוצא לבוש לכל עבדי הבעל ויצא להם המלבוש ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 23

And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only.

- Alors Jéhu vint à la maison de Baal avec Jonadab, fils de Récab, et il dit aux serviteurs de Baal: Cherchez et regardez, afin qu'il n'y ait pas ici des serviteurs de l'Éternel, mais qu'il y ait seulement des serviteurs de Baal. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθεν Ιου καὶ Ιωναδαβ υἱὸς Ρηχαβ εἰς οἰ̃κον του̃ Βααλ καὶ εἰ̃πεν τοι̃ς δούλοις του̃ Βααλ ἐρευνήσατε καὶ ἴδετε εἰ ἔστιν μεθ' ὑμω̃ν τω̃ν δούλων κυρίου ὅτι ἀλλ' ἢ οἱ δου̃λοι του̃ Βααλ μονώτατοι (Ⅲ)

- Ingressusque Jehu, et Jonadab filius Rechab, templum Baal, ait cultoribus Baal : Perquirite, et videte, ne quis forte vobiscum sit de servis Domini, sed ut sint servi Baal soli. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃10 ויבא יהוא ויהונדב בן רכב בית הבעל ויאמר לעבדי הבעל חפשו וראו פן יש פה עמכם מעבדי יהוה כי אם עבדי הבעל לבדם ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 24

And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.

- Et ils entrèrent pour offrir des sacrifices et des holocaustes. Jéhu avait placé dehors quatre-vingts hommes, en leur disant: Celui qui laissera échapper quelqu'un des hommes que je remets entre vos mains, sa vie répondra de la sienne. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθεν του̃ ποιη̃σαι τὰ θύματα καὶ τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ Ιου ἔταξεν ἑαυτω̨̃ ἔξω ὀγδοήκοντα ἄνδρας καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἀνήρ ὃς ἐὰν διασωθη̨̃ ἀπὸ τω̃ν ἀνδρω̃ν ὡ̃ν ἐγὼ ἀνάγω ἐπὶ χει̃ρας ὑμω̃ν ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτου̃ ἀντὶ τη̃ς ψυχη̃ς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Ingressi sunt igitur ut facerent victimas et holocausta : Jehu autem præparaverat sibi foris octoginta viros, et dixerat eis : Quicumque fugerit de hominibus his, quos ego adduxero in manus vestras, anima ejus erit pro anima illius. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃10 ויבאו לעשות זבחים ועלות ויהוא שם לו בחוץ שמנים איש ויאמר האיש אשר ימלט מן האנשים אשר אני מביא על ידיכם נפשו תחת נפשו ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 25

And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.

- Lorsqu'on eut achevé d'offrir les holocaustes, Jéhu dit aux coureurs et aux officiers: Entrez, frappez-les, que pas un ne sorte. Et ils les frappèrent du tranchant de l'épée. Les coureurs et les officiers les jetèrent là, et ils allèrent jusqu'à la ville de la maison de Baal. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς συνετέλεσεν ποιω̃ν τὴν ὁλοκαύτωσιν καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιου τοι̃ς παρατρέχουσιν καὶ τοι̃ς τριστάταις εἰσελθόντες πατάξατε αὐτούς ἀνὴρ μὴ ἐξελθάτω ἐξ αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτοὺς ἐν στόματι ῥομφαίας καὶ ἔρριψαν οἱ παρατρέχοντες καὶ οἱ τριστάται καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἕως πόλεως οἴκου του̃ Βααλ (Ⅲ)

- Factum est autem, cum completum esset holocaustum, præcepit Jehu militibus et ducibus suis : Ingredimini, et percutite eos : nullus evadat. Percusseruntque eos in ore gladii, et projecerunt milites et duces : et ierunt in civitatem templi Baal, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃10 ויהי ככלתו לעשות העלה ויאמר יהוא לרצים ולשלשים באו הכום איש אל יצא ויכום לפי חרב וישלכו הרצים והשלשים וילכו עד עיר בית הבעל ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 26

And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.

- Ils tirèrent dehors les statues de la maison de Baal, et les brûlèrent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξήνεγκαν τὴν στήλην του̃ Βααλ καὶ ἐνέπρησαν αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- et protulerunt statuam de fano Baal, et combusserunt, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃10 ויצאו את מצבות בית הבעל וישרפוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 27

And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.

- Ils renversèrent la statue de Baal, ils renversèrent aussi la maison de Baal, et ils en firent un cloaque, qui a subsisté jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέσπασαν τὰς στήλας του̃ Βααλ καὶ καθει̃λον τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ Βααλ καὶ ἔταξαν αὐτὸν εἰς λυτρω̃νας ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ)

- et comminuerunt eam. Destruxerunt quoque ædem Baal, et fecerunt pro ea latrinas usque in diem hanc.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃10 ויתצו את מצבת הבעל ויתצו את בית הבעל וישמהו *למחראות **למוצאות עד היום ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 28

Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

- Jéhu extermina Baal du milieu d'Israël; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠφάνισεν Ιου τὸν Βααλ ἐξ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Delevit itaque Jehu Baal de Israël : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃10 וישמד יהוא את הבעל מישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 29

Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.

- mais il ne se détourna point des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël, il n'abandonna point les veaux d'or qui étaient à Béthel et à Dan. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν ἁμαρτιω̃ν Ιεροβοαμ υἱου̃ Ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ οὐκ ἀπέστη Ιου ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν αὐτω̃ν αἱ δαμάλεις αἱ χρυσαι̃ ἐν Βαιθηλ καὶ ἐν Δαν (Ⅲ)

- verumtamen a peccatis Jeroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Israël, non recessit, nec dereliquit vitulos aureos qui erant in Bethel et in Dan. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃10 רק חטאי ירבעם בן נבט אשר החטיא את ישראל לא סר יהוא מאחריהם עגלי הזהב אשר בית אל ואשר בדן ס‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 30

And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.

- L'Éternel dit à Jéhu: Parce que tu as bien exécuté ce qui était droit à mes yeux, et que tu as fait à la maison d'Achab tout ce qui était conforme à ma volonté, tes fils jusqu'à la quatrième génération seront assis sur le trône d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς Ιου ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν ὅσα ἠγάθυνας ποιη̃σαι τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς μου καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐν τη̨̃ καρδία̨ μου ἐποίησας τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ Αχααβ υἱοὶ τέταρτοι καθήσονταί σοι ἐπὶ θρόνου Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Dixit autem Dominus ad Jehu : Quia studiose egisti quod rectum erat, et placebat in oculis meis, et omnia quæ erant in corde meo fecisti contra domum Achab : filii tui usque ad quartam generationem sedebunt super thronum Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃10 ויאמר יהוה אל יהוא יען אשר הטיבת לעשות הישר בעיני ככל אשר בלבבי עשית לבית אחאב בני רבעים ישבו לך על כסא ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 31

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

- Toutefois Jéhu ne prit point garde à marcher de tout son coeur dans la loi de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël; il ne se détourna point des péchés que Jéroboam avait fait commettre à Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Ιου οὐκ ἐφύλαξεν πορεύεσθαι ἐν νόμω̨ κυρίου θεου̃ Ισραηλ ἐν ὅλη̨ καρδία̨ αὐτου̃ οὐκ ἀπέστη ἐπάνωθεν ἁμαρτιω̃ν Ιεροβοαμ υἱου̃ Ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Porro Jehu non custodivit ut ambularet in lege Domini Dei Israël in toto corde suo : non enim recessit a peccatis Jeroboam, qui peccare fecerat Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃10 ויהוא לא שמר ללכת בתורת יהוה אלהי ישראל בכל לבבו לא סר מעל חטאות ירבעם אשר החטיא את ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 32

In those days the LORD began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;

- Dans ce temps-là, l'Éternel commença à entamer le territoire d'Israël; et Hazaël les battit sur toute la frontière d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις ἤρξατο κύριος συγκόπτειν ἐν τω̨̃ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς Αζαηλ ἐν παντὶ ὁρίω̨ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- In diebus illis cœpit Dominus tædere super Israël : percussitque eos Hazaël in universis finibus Israël, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃10 בימים ההם החל יהוה לקצות בישראל ויכם חזאל בכל גבול ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 33

From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

- Depuis le Jourdain, vers le soleil levant, il battit tout le pays de Galaad, les Gadites, les Rubénites et les Manassites, depuis Aroër sur le torrent de l'Arnon jusqu'à Galaad et à Basan. (Ⅱ)

- ἀπὸ του̃ Ιορδάνου κατ' ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν Γαλααδ του̃ Γαδδι καὶ του̃ Ρουβην καὶ του̃ Μανασση ἀπὸ Αροηρ ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ του̃ χείλους χειμάρρου Αρνων καὶ τὴν Γαλααδ καὶ τὴν Βασαν (Ⅲ)

- a Jordane contra orientalem plagam, omnem terram Galaad, et Gad, et Ruben, et Manasse, ab Aroër, quæ est super torrentem Arnon, et Galaad, et Basan. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃10 מן הירדן מזרח השמש את כל ארץ הגלעד הגדי והראובני והמנשי מערער אשר על נחל ארנן והגלעד והבשן ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 34

Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

- Le reste des actions de Jéhu, tout ce qu'il a fait, et tous ses exploits, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d'Israël? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τω̃ν λόγων Ιου καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν καὶ πα̃σα ἡ δυναστεία αὐτου̃ καὶ τὰς συνάψεις ἃς συνη̃ψεν οὐχὶ ταυ̃τα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίω̨ λόγων τω̃ν ἡμερω̃ν τοι̃ς βασιλευ̃σιν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Reliqua autem verborum Jehu, et universa quæ fecit, et fortitudo ejus, nonne hæc scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Israël ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃10 ויתר דברי יהוא וכל אשר עשה וכל גבורתו הלוא הם כתובים על ספר דברי הימים למלכי ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 35

And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.

- Jéhu se coucha avec ses pères, et on l'enterra à Samarie. Et Joachaz, son fils, régna à sa place. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ιου μετὰ τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν Σαμαρεία̨ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωαχας υἱὸς αὐτου̃ ἀντ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et dormivit Jehu cum patribus suis, sepelieruntque eum in Samaria : et regnavit Joachaz filius ejus pro eo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃10 וישכב יהוא עם אבתיו ויקברו אתו בשמרון וימלך יהואחז בנו תחתיו ‬ (Ⅴ)

10. 36

And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.

- Jéhu avait régné vingt-huit ans sur Israël à Samarie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ αἱ ἡμέραι ἃς ἐβασίλευσεν Ιου ἐπὶ Ισραηλ εἴκοσι ὀκτὼ ἔτη ἐν Σαμαρεία̨ (Ⅲ)

- Dies autem quos regnavit Jehu super Israël, viginti et octo anni sunt in Samaria. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃10 והימים אשר מלך יהוא על ישראל עשרים ושמנה שנה בשמרון פ‬ (Ⅴ)
