12. 1

In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba.

- La septième année de Jéhu, Joas devint roi, et il régna quarante ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Tsibja, de Beer Schéba. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν ἔτει ἑβδόμω̨ τω̨̃ Ιου ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωας καὶ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τη̃ς μητρὸς αὐτου̃ Αβια ἐκ τη̃ς Βηρσαβεε (Ⅲ)

- Anno septimo Jehu, regnavit Joas : et quadraginta annis regnavit in Jerusalem. Nomen matris ejus Sebia de Bersabee. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃12 בשנת שבע ליהוא מלך יהואש וארבעים שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו צביה מבאר שבע ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 2

And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

- Joas fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel tout le temps qu'il suivit les directions du sacrificateur Jehojada. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησεν Ιωας τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον κυρίου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἃς ἐφώτισεν αὐτὸν Ιωδαε ὁ ἱερεύς (Ⅲ)

- Fecitque Joas rectum coram Domino cunctis diebus quibus docuit eum Jojada sacerdos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃12 ויעש יהואש הישר בעיני יהוה כל ימיו אשר הורהו יהוידע הכהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 3

But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

- Seulement, les hauts lieux ne disparurent point; le peuple offrait encore des sacrifices et des parfums sur les hauts lieux. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν τω̃ν ὑψηλω̃ν οὐ μετεστάθησαν καὶ ἐκει̃ ἔτι ὁ λαὸς ἐθυσίαζεν καὶ ἐθυμίων ἐν τοι̃ς ὑψηλοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Verumtamen excelsa non abstulit : adhuc enim populus immolabat, et adolebat in excelsis incensum.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃12 רק הבמות לא סרו עוד העם מזבחים ומקטרים בבמות ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 4

And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD,

- Joas dit aux sacrificateurs: Tout l'argent consacré qu'on apporte dans la maison de l'Éternel, l'argent ayant cours, savoir l'argent pour le rachat des personnes d'après l'estimation qui en est faite, et tout l'argent qu'il vient au coeur de quelqu'un d'apporter à la maison de l'Éternel, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωας πρὸς τοὺς ἱερει̃ς πα̃ν τὸ ἀργύριον τω̃ν ἁγίων τὸ εἰσοδιαζόμενον ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ κυρίου ἀργύριον συντιμήσεως ἀνὴρ ἀργύριον λαβὼν συντιμήσεως πα̃ν ἀργύριον ὃ ἐὰν ἀναβη̨̃ ἐπὶ καρδίαν ἀνδρὸς ἐνεγκει̃ν ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque Joas ad sacerdotes : Omnem pecuniam sanctorum, quæ illata fuerit in templum Domini a prætereuntibus, quæ offertur pro pretio animæ, et quam sponte et arbitrio cordis sui inferunt in templum Domini : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃12 ויאמר יהואש אל הכהנים כל כסף הקדשים אשר יובא בית יהוה כסף עובר איש כסף נפשות ערכו כל כסף אשר יעלה על לב איש להביא בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 5

Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

- que les sacrificateurs le prennent chacun de la part des gens de sa connaissance, et qu'ils l'emploient à réparer la maison partout où il se trouvera quelque chose à réparer. (Ⅱ)

- λαβέτωσαν ἑαυτοι̃ς οἱ ἱερει̃ς ἀνὴρ ἀπὸ τη̃ς πράσεως αὐτω̃ν καὶ αὐτοὶ κρατήσουσιν τὸ βεδεκ του̃ οἴκου εἰς πάντα οὑ̃ ἐὰν εὑρεθη̨̃ ἐκει̃ βεδεκ (Ⅲ)

- accipiant illam sacerdotes juxta ordinem suum, et instaurent sartatecta domus, si quid necessarium viderint instauratione. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃12 יקחו להם הכהנים איש מאת מכרו והם יחזקו את בדק הבית לכל אשר ימצא שם בדק פ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 6

But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.

- Mais il arriva que, la vingt-troisième année du roi Joas, les sacrificateurs n'avaient point réparé ce qui était à réparer à la maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τω̨̃ εἰκοστω̨̃ καὶ τρίτω̨ ἔτει τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ Ιωας οὐκ ἐκραταίωσαν οἱ ἱερει̃ς τὸ βεδεκ του̃ οἴκου (Ⅲ)

- Igitur usque ad vigesimum tertium annum regis Joas, non instauraverunt sacerdotes sartatecta templi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃12 ויהי בשנת עשרים ושלש שנה למלך יהואש לא חזקו הכהנים את בדק הבית ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 7

Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

- Le roi Joas appela le sacrificateur Jehojada et les autres sacrificateurs, et leur dit: Pourquoi n'avez-vous pas réparé ce qui est à réparer à la maison? Maintenant, vous ne prendrez plus l'argent de vos connaissances, mais vous le livrerez pour les réparations de la maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Ιωας ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωδαε τὸν ἱερέα καὶ τοὺς ἱερει̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτούς τί ὅτι οὐκ ἐκραταιου̃τε τὸ βεδεκ του̃ οἴκου καὶ νυ̃ν μὴ λάβητε ἀργύριον ἀπὸ τω̃ν πράσεων ὑμω̃ν ὅτι εἰς τὸ βεδεκ του̃ οἴκου δώσετε αὐτό (Ⅲ)

- Vocavitque rex Joas Jojadam pontificem et sacerdotes, dicens eis : Quare sartatecta non instauratis templi ? nolite ergo amplius accipere pecuniam juxta ordinem vestrum, sed ad instaurationem templi reddite eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃12 ויקרא המלך יהואש ליהוידע הכהן ולכהנים ויאמר אלהם מדוע אינכם מחזקים את בדק הבית ועתה אל תקחו כסף מאת מכריכם כי לבדק הבית תתנהו ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 8

And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.

- Les sacrificateurs convinrent de ne pas prendre l'argent du peuple, et de n'être chargés des réparations de la maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνεφώνησαν οἱ ἱερει̃ς του̃ μὴ λαβει̃ν ἀργύριον παρὰ του̃ λαου̃ καὶ του̃ μὴ ἐνισχυ̃σαι τὸ βεδεκ του̃ οἴκου (Ⅲ)

- Prohibitique sunt sacerdotes ultra accipere pecuniam a populo, et instaurare sartatecta domus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃12 ויאתו הכהנים לבלתי קחת כסף מאת העם ולבלתי חזק את בדק הבית ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 9

But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD.

- Alors le sacrificateur Jehojada prit un coffre, perça un trou dans son couvercle, et le plaça à côté de l'autel, à droite, sur le passage par lequel on entrait à la maison de l'Éternel. Les sacrificateurs qui avaient la garde du seuil y mettaient tout l'argent qu'on apportait dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωδαε ὁ ἱερεὺς κιβωτὸν μίαν καὶ ἔτρησεν τρώγλην ἐπὶ τη̃ς σανίδος αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν παρὰ ιαμιβιν ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ ἀνδρὸς οἴκου κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκαν οἱ ἱερει̃ς οἱ φυλάσσοντες τὸν σταθμὸν πα̃ν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Et tulit Jojada pontifex gazophylacium unum, aperuitque foramen desuper, et posuit illud juxta altare ad dexteram ingredientium domum Domini : mittebantque in eo sacerdotes qui custodiebant ostia, omnem pecuniam quæ deferebatur ad templum Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃12 ויקח יהוידע הכהן ארון אחד ויקב חר בדלתו ויתן אתו אצל המזבח *בימין **מימין בבוא איש בית יהוה ונתנו שמה הכהנים שמרי הסף את כל הכסף המובא בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 10

And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.

- Quand ils voyaient qu'il y avait beaucoup d'argent dans le coffre, le secrétaire du roi montait avec le souverain sacrificateur, et ils serraient et comptaient l'argent qui se trouvait dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἰ̃δον ὅτι πολὺ τὸ ἀργύριον ἐν τη̨̃ κιβωτω̨̃ καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ γραμματεὺς του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας καὶ ἔσφιγξαν καὶ ἠρίθμησαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Cumque viderent nimiam pecuniam esse in gazophylacio, ascendebat scriba regis, et pontifex, effundebantque et numerabant pecuniam quæ inveniebatur in domo Domini : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃12 ויהי כראותם כי רב הכסף בארון ויעל ספר המלך והכהן הגדול ויצרו וימנו את הכסף הנמצא בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 11

And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,

- Ils remettaient l'argent pesé entre les mains de ceux qui étaient chargés de faire exécuter l'ouvrage dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et l'on employait cet argent pour les charpentiers et pour les ouvriers qui travaillaient à la maison de l'Éternel, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔδωκαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ ἑτοιμασθὲν ἐπὶ χει̃ρας ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα τω̃ν ἐπισκόπων οἴκου κυρίου καὶ ἐξέδοσαν τοι̃ς τέκτοσιν τω̃ν ξύλων καὶ τοι̃ς οἰκοδόμοις τοι̃ς ποιου̃σιν ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- et dabant eam juxta numerum atque mensuram in manu eorum qui præerant cæmentariis domus Domini : qui impendebant eam in fabris lignorum et in cæmentariis, iis qui operabantur in domo Domini, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃12 ונתנו את הכסף המתכן על *יד **ידי עשי המלאכה *הפקדים **המפקדים בית יהוה ויוציאהו לחרשי העץ ולבנים העשים בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 12

And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

- pour les maçons et les tailleurs de pierres, pour les achats de bois et de pierres de taille nécessaires aux réparations de la maison de l'Éternel, et pour toutes les dépenses concernant les réparations de la maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τοι̃ς τειχισται̃ς καὶ τοι̃ς λατόμοις τω̃ν λίθων του̃ κτήσασθαι ξύλα καὶ λίθους λατομητοὺς του̃ κατασχει̃ν τὸ βεδεκ οἴκου κυρίου εἰς πάντα ὅσα ἐξωδιάσθη ἐπὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ κραταιω̃σαι (Ⅲ)

- et sartatecta faciebant : et in iis qui cædebant saxa, et ut emerent ligna, et lapides, qui excidebantur, ita ut impleretur instauratio domus Domini in universis quæ indigebant expensa ad muniendam domum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃12 ולגדרים ולחצבי האבן ולקנות עצים ואבני מחצב לחזק את בדק בית יהוה ולכל אשר יצא על הבית לחזקה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 13

Howbeit there were not made for the house of the LORD bowls of silver, snuffers, basins, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:

- Mais, avec l'argent qu'on apportait dans la maison de l'Éternel, on ne fit pour la maison de l'Éternel ni bassins d'argent, ni couteaux, ni coupes, ni trompettes, ni aucun ustensile d'or ou d'argent: (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν οὐ ποιηθήσεται οἴκω̨ κυρίου θύραι ἀργυραι̃ ἡ̃λοι φιάλαι καὶ σάλπιγγες πα̃ν σκευ̃ος χρυσου̃ν καὶ σκευ̃ος ἀργυρου̃ν ἐκ του̃ ἀργυρίου του̃ εἰσενεχθέντος ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Verumtamen non fiebant ex eadem pecunia hydriæ templi Domini, et fuscinulæ, et thuribula, et tubæ, et omne vas aureum et argenteum, de pecunia quæ inferebatur in templum Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃12 אך לא יעשה בית יהוה ספות כסף מזמרות מזרקות חצצרות כל כלי זהב וכלי כסף מן הכסף המובא בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 14

But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the LORD.

- on le donnait à ceux qui faisaient l'ouvrage, afin qu'ils l'employassent à réparer la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι τοι̃ς ποιου̃σιν τὰ ἔργα δώσουσιν αὐτό καὶ ἐκραταίωσαν ἐν αὐτω̨̃ τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Iis enim qui faciebant opus, dabatur ut instauraretur templum Domini : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃12 כי לעשי המלאכה יתנהו וחזקו בו את בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 15

Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.

- On ne demandait pas de compte aux hommes entre les mains desquels on remettait l'argent pour qu'ils le donnassent à ceux qui faisaient l'ouvrage, car ils agissaient avec probité. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἐξελογίζοντο τοὺς ἄνδρας οἱ̃ς ἐδίδουν τὸ ἀργύριον ἐπὶ χει̃ρας αὐτω̃ν δου̃ναι τοι̃ς ποιου̃σιν τὰ ἔργα ὅτι ἐν πίστει αὐτω̃ν ποιου̃σιν (Ⅲ)

- et non fiebat ratio iis hominibus qui accipiebant pecuniam ut distribuerent eam artificibus, sed in fide tractabant eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃12 ולא יחשבו את האנשים אשר יתנו את הכסף על ידם לתת לעשי המלאכה כי באמנה הם עשים ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 16

The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests'.

- L'argent des sacrifices de culpabilité et des sacrifices d'expiation n'était point apporté dans la maison de l'Éternel: il était pour les sacrificateurs. (Ⅱ)

- ἀργύριον περὶ ἁμαρτίας καὶ ἀργύριον περὶ πλημμελείας ὅ τι εἰσηνέχθη ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου τοι̃ς ἱερευ̃σιν ἐγένετο (Ⅲ)

- Pecuniam vero pro delicto, et pecuniam pro peccatis non inferebant in templum Domini, quia sacerdotum erat.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃12 כסף אשם וכסף חטאות לא יובא בית יהוה לכהנים יהיו פ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 17

Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.

- Alors Hazaël, roi de Syrie, monta et se battit contre Gath, dont il s'empara. Hazaël avait l'intention de monter contre Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- τότε ἀνέβη Αζαηλ βασιλεὺς Συρίας καὶ ἐπολέμησεν ἐπὶ Γεθ καὶ προκατελάβετο αὐτήν καὶ ἔταξεν Αζαηλ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ ἀναβη̃ναι ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- Tunc ascendit Hazaël rex Syriæ, et pugnabat contra Geth, cepitque eam : et direxit faciem suam ut ascenderet in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃12 אז יעלה חזאל מלך ארם וילחם על גת וילכדה וישם חזאל פניו לעלות על ירושלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 18

And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.

- Joas, roi de Juda, prit toutes les choses consacrées, ce qui avait été consacré par Josaphat, par Joram et par Achazia, ses pères, rois de Juda, ce qu'il avait consacré lui-même, et tout l'or qui se trouvait dans les trésors de la maison de l'Éternel et de la maison du roi, et il envoya le tout à Hazaël, roi de Syrie, qui ne monta pas contre Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα πάντα τὰ ἅγια ὅσα ἡγίασεν Ιωσαφατ καὶ Ιωραμ καὶ Οχοζιας οἱ πατέρες αὐτου̃ καὶ βασιλει̃ς Ιουδα καὶ τὰ ἅγια αὐτου̃ καὶ πα̃ν τὸ χρυσίον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν θησαυροι̃ς οἴκου κυρίου καὶ οἴκου του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τω̨̃ Αζαηλ βασιλει̃ Συρίας καὶ ἀνέβη ἀπὸ Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- Quam ob rem tulit Joas rex Juda omnia sanctificata quæ consecraverant Josaphat, et Joram, et Ochozias, patres ejus reges Juda, et quæ ipse obtulerat : et universum argentum quod inveniri potuit in thesauris templi Domini et in palatio regis : misitque Hazaëli regi Syriæ, et recessit ab Jerusalem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃12 ויקח יהואש מלך יהודה את כל הקדשים אשר הקדישו יהושפט ויהורם ואחזיהו אבתיו מלכי יהודה ואת קדשיו ואת כל הזהב הנמצא באצרות בית יהוה ובית המלך וישלח לחזאל מלך ארם ויעל מעל ירושלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 19

And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

- Le reste des actions de Joas, et tout ce qu'il a fait, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τω̃ν λόγων Ιωας καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταυ̃τα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίω̨ λόγων τω̃ν ἡμερω̃ν τοι̃ς βασιλευ̃σιν Ιουδα (Ⅲ)

- Reliqua autem sermonum Joas, et universa quæ fecit, nonne hæc scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Juda ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃12 ויתר דברי יואש וכל אשר עשה הלוא הם כתובים על ספר דברי הימים למלכי יהודה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 20

And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.

- Ses serviteurs se soulevèrent et formèrent une conspiration; ils frappèrent Joas dans la maison de Millo, qui est à la descente de Silla. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστησαν οἱ δου̃λοι αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔδησαν πάντα σύνδεσμον καὶ ἐπάταξαν τὸν Ιωας ἐν οἴκω̨ Μαλλω τω̨̃ ἐν Γααλλα (Ⅲ)

- Surrexerunt autem servi ejus, et conjuraverunt inter se, percusseruntque Joas in domo Mello in descensu Sella. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃12 ויקמו עבדיו ויקשרו קשר ויכו את יואש בית מלא היורד סלא ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 21

For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.

- Jozacar, fils de Schimeath, et Jozabad, fils de Schomer, ses serviteurs, le frappèrent, et il mourut. On l'enterra avec ses pères, dans la ville de David. Et Amatsia, son fils, régna à sa place. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Ιεζιχαρ υἱὸς Ιεμουαθ καὶ Ιεζεβουθ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτου̃ Σωμηρ οἱ δου̃λοι αὐτου̃ ἐπάταξαν αὐτόν καὶ ἀπέθανεν καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν μετὰ τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτου̃ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Αμεσσιας υἱὸς αὐτου̃ ἀντ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)
