17. 1

In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.

- La douzième année d'Achaz, roi de Juda, Osée, fils d'Éla, régna sur Israël à Samarie. Il régna neuf ans. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν ἔτει δωδεκάτω̨ τω̨̃ Αχαζ βασιλει̃ Ιουδα ἐβασίλευσεν Ωσηε υἱὸς Ηλα ἐν Σαμαρεία̨ ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐννέα ἔτη (Ⅲ)

- Anno duodecimo Achaz regis Juda, regnavit Osee filius Ela in Samaria super Israël novem annis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃17 בשנת שתים עשרה לאחז מלך יהודה מלך הושע בן אלה בשמרון על ישראל תשע שנים ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 2

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.

- Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, non pas toutefois comme les rois d'Israël qui avaient été avant lui. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς κυρίου πλὴν οὐχ ὡς οἱ βασιλει̃ς Ισραηλ οἳ ἠ̃σαν ἔμπροσθεν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Fecitque malum coram Domino, sed non sicut reges Israël qui ante eum fuerant. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃17 ויעש הרע בעיני יהוה רק לא כמלכי ישראל אשר היו לפניו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 3

Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.

- Salmanasar, roi d'Assyrie, monta contre lui; et Osée lui fut assujetti, et lui paya un tribut. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπ' αὐτὸν ἀνέβη Σαλαμανασαρ βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων καὶ ἐγενήθη αὐτω̨̃ Ωσηε δου̃λος καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν αὐτω̨̃ μαναα (Ⅲ)

- Contra hunc ascendit Salmanasar rex Assyriorum, et factus est ei Osee servus, reddebatque illi tributa. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃17 עליו עלה שלמנאסר מלך אשור ויהי לו הושע עבד וישב לו מנחה ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 4

And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.

- Mais le roi d'Assyrie découvrit une conspiration chez Osée, qui avait envoyé des messagers à So, roi d'Égypte, et qui ne payait plus annuellement le tribut au roi d'Assyrie. Le roi d'Assyrie le fit enfermer et enchaîner dans une prison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εὑ̃ρεν βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων ἐν τω̨̃ Ωσηε ἀδικίαν ὅτι ἀπέστειλεν ἀγγέλους πρὸς Σηγωρ βασιλέα Αἰγύπτου καὶ οὐκ ἤνεγκεν μαναα τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ 'Ασσυρίων ἐν τω̨̃ ἐνιαυτω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ καὶ ἐπολιόρκησεν αὐτὸν ὁ βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων καὶ ἔδησεν αὐτὸν ἐν οἴκω̨ φυλακη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Cumque deprehendisset rex Assyriorum Osee, quod rebellare nitens misisset nuntios ad Sua regem Ægypti ne præstaret tributa regi Assyriorum sicut singulis annis solitus erat, obsedit eum, et vinctum misit in carcerem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃17 וימצא מלך אשור בהושע קשר אשר שלח מלאכים אל סוא מלך מצרים ולא העלה מנחה למלך אשור כשנה בשנה ויעצרהו מלך אשור ויאסרהו בית כלא ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 5

Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.

- Et le roi d'Assyrie parcourut tout le pays, et monta contre Samarie, qu'il assiégea pendant trois ans. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων ἐν πάση̨ τη̨̃ γη̨̃ καὶ ἀνέβη εἰς Σαμάρειαν καὶ ἐπολιόρκησεν ἐπ' αὐτὴν τρία ἔτη (Ⅲ)

- Pervagatusque est omnem terram : et ascendens Samariam, obsedit eam tribus annis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃17 ויעל מלך אשור בכל הארץ ויעל שמרון ויצר עליה שלש שנים ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 6

In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

- La neuvième année d'Osée, le roi d'Assyrie prit Samarie, et emmena Israël captif en Assyrie. Il les fit habiter à Chalach, et sur le Chabor, fleuve de Gozan, et dans les villes des Mèdes. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν ἔτει ἐνάτω̨ Ωσηε συνέλαβεν βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων τὴν Σαμάρειαν καὶ ἀπώ̨κισεν τὸν Ισραηλ εἰς 'Ασσυρίους καὶ κατώ̨κισεν αὐτοὺς ἐν Αλαε καὶ ἐν Αβωρ ποταμοι̃ς Γωζαν καὶ Ορη Μήδων (Ⅲ)

- Anno autem nono Osee, cepit rex Assyriorum Samariam, et transtulit Israël in Assyrios : posuitque eos in Hala et in Habor juxta fluvium Gozan, in civitatibus Medorum.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃17 בשנת התשיעית להושע לכד מלך אשור את שמרון ויגל את ישראל אשורה וישב אתם בחלח ובחבור נהר גוזן וערי מדי פ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 7

For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

- Cela arriva parce que les enfants d'Israël péchèrent contre l'Éternel, leur Dieu, qui les avait fait monter du pays d'Égypte, de dessous la main de Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et parce qu'ils craignirent d'autres dieux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτι ἥμαρτον οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ θεω̨̃ αὐτω̃ν τω̨̃ ἀναγαγόντι αὐτοὺς ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου ὑποκάτωθεν χειρὸς Φαραω βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν θεοὺς ἑτέρους (Ⅲ)

- Factum est enim, cum peccassent filii Israël Domino Deo suo, qui eduxerat eos de terra Ægypti, de manu Pharaonis regis Ægypti, coluerunt deos alienos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃17 ויהי כי חטאו בני ישראל ליהוה אלהיהם המעלה אתם מארץ מצרים מתחת יד פרעה מלך מצרים וייראו אלהים אחרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 8

And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

- Ils suivirent les coutumes des nations que l'Éternel avait chassés devant les enfants d'Israël, et celles que les rois d'Israël avaient établies. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν τοι̃ς δικαιώμασιν τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν ὡ̃ν ἐξη̃ρεν κύριος ἀπὸ προσώπου υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ οἱ βασιλει̃ς Ισραηλ ὅσοι ἐποίησαν (Ⅲ)

- Et ambulaverunt juxta ritum gentium quas consumpserat Dominus in conspectu filiorum Israël et regum Israël, quia similiter fecerant. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃17 וילכו בחקות הגוים אשר הוריש יהוה מפני בני ישראל ומלכי ישראל אשר עשו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 9

And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

- Les enfants d'Israël firent en secret contre l'Éternel, leur Dieu, des choses qui ne sont pas bien. Ils se bâtirent des hauts lieux dans toutes leurs villes, depuis les tours des gardes jusqu'aux villes fortes. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὅσοι ἠμφιέσαντο οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ λόγους οὐχ οὕτως κατὰ κυρίου θεου̃ αὐτω̃ν καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησαν ἑαυτοι̃ς ὑψηλὰ ἐν πάσαις ται̃ς πόλεσιν αὐτω̃ν ἀπὸ πύργου φυλασσόντων ἕως πόλεως ὀχυρα̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Et offenderunt filii Israël verbis non rectis Dominum Deum suum : et ædificaverunt sibi excelsa in cunctis urbibus suis, a turre custodum usque ad civitatem munitam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃17 ויחפאו בני ישראל דברים אשר לא כן על יהוה אלהיהם ויבנו להם במות בכל עריהם ממגדל נוצרים עד עיר מבצר ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 10

And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:

- Ils se dressèrent des statues et des idoles sur toute colline élevée et sous tout arbre vert. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐστήλωσαν ἑαυτοι̃ς στήλας καὶ ἄλση ἐπὶ παντὶ βουνω̨̃ ὑψηλω̨̃ καὶ ὑποκάτω παντὸς ξύλου ἀλσώδους (Ⅲ)

- Feceruntque sibi statuas et lucos in omni colle sublimi, et subter omne lignum nemorosum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃17 ויצבו להם מצבות ואשרים על כל גבעה גבהה ותחת כל עץ רענן ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 11

And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:

- Et là ils brûlèrent des parfums sur tous les hauts lieux, comme les nations que l'Éternel avait chassées devant eux, et ils firent des choses mauvaises, par lesquelles ils irritèrent l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐθυμίασαν ἐκει̃ ἐν πα̃σιν ὑψηλοι̃ς καθὼς τὰ ἔθνη ἃ ἀπώ̨κισεν κύριος ἐκ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐποίησαν κοινωνοὺς καὶ ἐχάραξαν του̃ παροργίσαι τὸν κύριον (Ⅲ)

- et adolebant ibi incensum super aras in morem gentium quas transtulerat Dominus a facie eorum : feceruntque verba pessima irritantes Dominum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃17 ויקטרו שם בכל במות כגוים אשר הגלה יהוה מפניהם ויעשו דברים רעים להכעיס את יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 12

For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.

- Ils servirent les idoles dont l'Éternel leur avait dit: Vous ne ferez pas cela. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐλάτρευσαν τοι̃ς εἰδώλοις οἱ̃ς εἰ̃πεν κύριος αὐτοι̃ς οὐ ποιήσετε τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το κυρίω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Et coluerunt immunditias de quibus præcepit eis Dominus ne facerent verbum hoc. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃17 ויעבדו הגללים אשר אמר יהוה להם לא תעשו את הדבר הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 13

Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

- L'Éternel fit avertir Israël et Juda par tous ses prophètes, par tous les voyants, et leur dit: Revenez de vos mauvaises voies, et observez mes commandements et mes ordonnances, en suivant entièrement la loi que j'ai prescrite à vos pères et que je vous ai envoyée par mes serviteurs les prophètes. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διεμαρτύρατο κύριος ἐν τω̨̃ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ Ιουδα ἐν χειρὶ πάντων τω̃ν προφητω̃ν αὐτου̃ παντὸς ὁρω̃ντος λέγων ἀποστράφητε ἀπὸ τω̃ν ὁδω̃ν ὑμω̃ν τω̃ν πονηρω̃ν καὶ φυλάξατε τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τὰ δικαιώματά μου καὶ πάντα τὸν νόμον ὃν ἐνετειλάμην τοι̃ς πατράσιν ὑμω̃ν ὅσα ἀπέστειλα αὐτοι̃ς ἐν χειρὶ τω̃ν δούλων μου τω̃ν προφητω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et testificatus est Dominus in Israël et in Juda per manum omnium prophetarum et videntium, dicens : Revertimini a viis vestris pessimis, et custodite præcepta mea et cæremonias, juxta omnem legem quam præcepi patribus vestris, et sicut misi ad vos in manu servorum meorum prophetarum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃17 ויעד יהוה בישראל וביהודה ביד כל *נביאו **נביאי כל חזה לאמר שבו מדרכיכם הרעים ושמרו מצותי חקותי ככל התורה אשר צויתי את אבתיכם ואשר שלחתי אליכם ביד עבדי הנביאים ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 14

Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.

- Mais ils n'écoutèrent point, et ils roidirent leur cou, comme leurs pères, qui n'avaient pas cru en l'Éternel, leur Dieu. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν καὶ ἐσκλήρυναν τὸν νω̃τον αὐτω̃ν ὑπὲρ τὸν νω̃τον τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Qui non audierunt, sed induraverunt cervicem suam juxta cervicem patrum suorum, qui noluerunt obedire Domino Deo suo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃17 ולא שמעו ויקשו את ערפם כערף אבותם אשר לא האמינו ביהוה אלהיהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 15

And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.

- Ils rejetèrent ses lois, l'alliance qu'il avait faite avec leurs pères, et les avertissements qu'il leur avait adressés. Ils allèrent après des choses de néant et ne furent eux-mêmes que néant, et après les nations qui les entouraient et que l'Éternel leur avait défendu d'imiter. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὰ μαρτύρια αὐτου̃ ὅσα διεμαρτύρατο αὐτοι̃ς οὐκ ἐφύλαξαν καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω τω̃ν ματαίων καὶ ἐματαιώθησαν καὶ ὀπίσω τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν τω̃ν περικύκλω̨ αὐτω̃ν ὡ̃ν ἐνετείλατο αὐτοι̃ς του̃ μὴ ποιη̃σαι κατὰ ταυ̃τα (Ⅲ)

- Et abjecerunt legitima ejus, et pactum quod pepigit cum patribus eorum, et testificationes quibus contestatus est eos : secutique sunt vanitates, et vane egerunt : et secuti sunt gentes quæ erant per circuitum eorum, super quibus præceperat Dominus eis ut non facerent sicut et illæ faciebant. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃17 וימאסו את חקיו ואת בריתו אשר כרת את אבותם ואת עדותיו אשר העיד בם וילכו‪[c]‬ אחרי ההבל ויהבלו ואחרי הגוים אשר סביבתם אשר צוה יהוה אתם לבלתי עשות כהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 16

And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

- Ils abandonnèrent tous les commandements de l'Éternel, leur Dieu, ils se firent deux veaux en fonte, ils fabriquèrent des idoles d'Astarté, ils se prosternèrent devant toute l'armée des cieux, et ils servirent Baal. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγκατέλιπον τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου θεου̃ αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοι̃ς χώνευμα δύο δαμάλεις καὶ ἐποίησαν ἄλση καὶ προσεκύνησαν πάση̨ τη̨̃ δυνάμει του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ ἐλάτρευσαν τω̨̃ Βααλ (Ⅲ)

- Et dereliquerunt omnia præcepta Domini Dei sui : feceruntque sibi conflatiles duos vitulos, et lucos, et adoraverunt universam militiam cæli : servieruntque Baal, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃17 ויעזבו את כל מצות יהוה אלהיהם ויעשו להם מסכה *שנים **שני עגלים ויעשו אשירה וישתחוו לכל צבא השמים ויעבדו את הבעל ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 17

And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

- Ils firent passer par le feu leurs fils et leurs filles, ils se livrèrent à la divination et aux enchantements, et ils se vendirent pour faire ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, afin de l'irriter. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διη̃γον τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτω̃ν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ ἐμαντεύοντο μαντείας καὶ οἰωνίζοντο καὶ ἐπράθησαν του̃ ποιη̃σαι τὸ πονηρὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς κυρίου παροργίσαι αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- et consecraverunt filios suos et filias suas per ignem : et divinationibus inserviebant, et auguriis : et tradiderunt se ut facerent malum coram Domino, ut irritarent eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃17 ויעבירו את בניהם ואת בנותיהם באש ויקסמו קסמים וינחשו ויתמכרו לעשות הרע בעיני יהוה להכעיסו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 18

Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.

- Aussi l'Éternel s'est-il fortement irrité contre Israël, et les a-t-il éloignés de sa face. -Il n'est resté que la seule tribu de Juda. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐθυμώθη κύριος σφόδρα ἐν τω̨̃ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπέστησεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ του̃ προσώπου αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐχ ὑπελείφθη πλὴν φυλὴ Ιουδα μονωτάτη (Ⅲ)

- Iratusque est Dominus vehementer Israëli, et abstulit eos a conspectu suo, et non remansit nisi tribus Juda tantummodo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃17 ויתאנף יהוה מאד בישראל ויסרם מעל פניו לא נשאר רק שבט יהודה לבדו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 19

Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.

- Juda même n'avait pas gardé les commandements de l'Éternel, son Dieu, et ils avaient suivi les coutumes établies par Israël. - (Ⅱ)

- καί γε Ιουδας οὐκ ἐφύλαξεν τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἐν τοι̃ς δικαιώμασιν Ισραηλ οἱ̃ς ἐποίησαν (Ⅲ)

- Sed nec ipse Juda custodivit mandata Domini Dei sui : verum ambulavit in erroribus Israël, quos operatus fuerat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃17 גם יהודה לא שמר את מצות יהוה אלהיהם וילכו בחקות ישראל אשר עשו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 20

And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.

- L'Éternel a rejeté toute la race d'Israël; il les a humiliés, il les a livrés entre les mains des pillards, et il a fini par les chasser loin de sa face. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπεώσαντο τὸν κύριον ἐν παντὶ σπέρματι Ισραηλ καὶ ἐσάλευσεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοὺς ἐν χειρὶ διαρπαζόντων αὐτούς ἕως οὑ̃ ἀπέρριψεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Projecitque Dominus omne semen Israël, et afflixit eos, et tradidit eos in manu diripientium, donec projiceret eos a facie sua : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃17 וימאס יהוה בכל זרע ישראל ויענם ויתנם ביד שסים עד אשר השליכם מפניו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 21

For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.

- Car Israël s'était détaché de la maison de David, et ils avaient fait roi Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui les avait détournés de l'Éternel, et avait fait commettre à Israël un grand péché. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι πλὴν Ισραηλ ἐπάνωθεν οἴκου Δαυιδ καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν τὸν Ιεροβοαμ υἱὸν Ναβατ καὶ ἐξέωσεν Ιεροβοαμ τὸν Ισραηλ ἐξόπισθεν κυρίου καὶ ἐξήμαρτεν αὐτοὺς ἁμαρτίαν μεγάλην (Ⅲ)

- ex eo jam tempore quo scissus est Israël a domo David, et constituerunt sibi regem Jeroboam filium Nabat : separavit enim Jeroboam Israël a Domino, et peccare eos fecit peccatum magnum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃17 כי קרע ישראל מעל בית דוד וימליכו את ירבעם בן נבט *וידא **וידח ירבעם את ישראל מאחרי יהוה והחטיאם‪[1]‬ חטאה גדולה ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 22

For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;

- Les enfants d'Israël s'étaient livrés à tous les péchés que Jéroboam avait commis; ils ne s'en détournèrent point, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐν πάση̨ ἁμαρτία̨ Ιεροβοαμ ἡ̨̃ ἐποίησεν οὐκ ἀπέστησαν ἀπ' αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

17. 23

Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.

- jusqu'à ce que l'Éternel eût chassé Israël loin de sa face, comme il l'avait annoncé par tous ses serviteurs les prophètes. Et Israël a été emmené captif loin de son pays en Assyrie, où il est resté jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ)

- ἕως οὑ̃ μετέστησεν κύριος τὸν Ισραηλ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτου̃ καθὼς ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐν χειρὶ πάντων τω̃ν δούλων αὐτου̃ τω̃ν προφητω̃ν καὶ ἀπω̨κίσθη Ισραηλ ἐπάνωθεν τη̃ς γη̃ς αὐτου̃ εἰς 'Ασσυρίους ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ)

- usquequo Dominus auferret Israël a facie sua, sicut locutus fuerat in manu omnium servorum suorum prophetarum : translatusque est Israël de terra sua in Assyrios, usque in diem hanc.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃17 עד אשר הסיר יהוה את ישראל מעל פניו כאשר דבר ביד כל עבדיו הנביאים ויגל ישראל מעל אדמתו אשורה עד היום הזה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 24

And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.

- Le roi d'Assyrie fit venir des gens de Babylone, de Cutha, d'Avva, de Hamath et de Sepharvaïm, et les établit dans les villes de Samarie à la place des enfants d'Israël. Ils prirent possession de Samarie, et ils habitèrent dans ses villes. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤγαγεν βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων ἐκ Βαβυλω̃νος τὸν ἐκ Χουνθα καὶ ἀπὸ Αια καὶ ἀπὸ Αιμαθ καὶ Σεπφαρουαιν καὶ κατω̨κίσθησαν ἐν πόλεσιν Σαμαρείας ἀντὶ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐκληρονόμησαν τὴν Σαμάρειαν καὶ κατώ̨κησαν ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσιν αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Adduxit autem rex Assyriorum de Babylone, et de Cutha, et de Avah, et de Emath, et de Sepharvaim : et collocavit eos in civitatibus Samariæ pro filiis Israël : qui possederunt Samariam, et habitaverunt in urbibus ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃17 ויבא מלך אשור מבבל ומכותה ומעוא ומחמת וספרוים וישב בערי שמרון תחת בני ישראל וירשו את שמרון וישבו בעריה ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 25

And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.

- Lorsqu'ils commencèrent à y habiter, ils ne craignaient pas l'Éternel, et l'Éternel envoya contre eux des lions qui les tuaient. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν ἀρχη̨̃ τη̃ς καθέδρας αὐτω̃ν οὐκ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸν κύριον καὶ ἀπέστειλεν κύριος ἐν αὐτοι̃ς τοὺς λέοντας καὶ ἠ̃σαν ἀποκτέννοντες ἐν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Cumque ibi habitare cœpissent, non timebant Dominum : et immisit in eos Dominus leones, qui interficiebant eos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃17 ויהי בתחלת שבתם שם לא יראו את יהוה וישלח יהוה בהם את האריות ויהיו הרגים בהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 26

Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.

- On dit au roi d'Assyrie: Les nations que tu as transportées et établies dans les villes de Samarie ne connaissent pas la manière de servir le dieu du pays, et il a envoyé contre elles des lions qui les font mourir, parce qu'elles ne connaissent pas la manière de servir le dieu du pays. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πον τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ 'Ασσυρίων λέγοντες τὰ ἔθνη ἃ ἀπώ̨κισας καὶ ἀντεκάθισας ἐν πόλεσιν Σαμαρείας οὐκ ἔγνωσαν τὸ κρίμα του̃ θεου̃ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἀπέστειλεν εἰς αὐτοὺς τοὺς λέοντας καὶ ἰδού εἰσιν θανατου̃ντες αὐτούς καθότι οὐκ οἴδασιν τὸ κρίμα του̃ θεου̃ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Nuntiatumque est regi Assyriorum, et dictum : Gentes quas transtulisti, et habitare fecisti in civitatibus Samariæ, ignorant legitima Dei terræ : et immisit in eos Dominus leones, et ecce interficiunt eos, eo quod ignorent ritum Dei terræ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃17 ויאמרו למלך אשור לאמר הגוים אשר הגלית ותושב בערי שמרון לא ידעו את משפט אלהי הארץ וישלח בם את האריות והנם ממיתים אותם כאשר אינם ידעים את משפט אלהי הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 27

Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.

- Le roi d'Assyrie donna cet ordre: Faites-y aller l'un des prêtres que vous avez emmenés de là en captivité; qu'il parte pour s'y établir, et qu'il leur enseigne la manière de servir le dieu du pays. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων λέγων ἀπάγετε ἐκει̃θεν καὶ πορευέσθωσαν καὶ κατοικείτωσαν ἐκει̃ καὶ φωτιου̃σιν αὐτοὺς τὸ κρίμα του̃ θεου̃ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Præcepit autem rex Assyriorum, dicens : Ducite illuc unum de sacerdotibus quos inde captivos adduxistis, et vadat, et habitet cum eis : et doceat eos legitima Dei terræ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃17 ויצו מלך אשור לאמר הליכו שמה אחד מהכהנים אשר הגליתם משם וילכו וישבו שם וירם את משפט אלהי הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 28

Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.

- Un des prêtres qui avaient été emmenés captifs de Samarie vint s'établir à Béthel, et leur enseigna comment ils devaient craindre l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤγαγον ἕνα τω̃ν ἱερέων ὡ̃ν ἀπώ̨κισαν ἀπὸ Σαμαρείας καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐν Βαιθηλ καὶ ἠ̃ν φωτίζων αὐτοὺς πω̃ς φοβηθω̃σιν τὸν κύριον (Ⅲ)

- Igitur cum venisset unus de sacerdotibus his qui captivi ducti fuerant de Samaria, habitavit in Bethel, et docebat eos quomodo colerent Dominum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃17 ויבא אחד מהכהנים אשר הגלו משמרון וישב בבית אל ויהי מורה אתם איך ייראו את יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 29

Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.

- Mais les nations firent chacune leurs dieux dans les villes qu'elles habitaient, et les placèrent dans les maisons des hauts lieux bâties par les Samaritains. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃σαν ποιου̃ντες ἔθνη ἔθνη θεοὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἔθηκαν ἐν οἴκω̨ τω̃ν ὑψηλω̃ν ὡ̃ν ἐποίησαν οἱ Σαμαρι̃ται ἔθνη ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσιν αὐτω̃ν ἐν αἱ̃ς κατώ̨κουν ἐν αὐται̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Et unaquæque gens fabricata est deum suum : posueruntque eos in fanis excelsis quæ fecerant Samaritæ, gens et gens in urbibus suis, in quibus habitabat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃17 ויהיו עשים גוי גוי אלהיו ויניחו בבית הבמות אשר עשו השמרנים גוי גוי בעריהם אשר הם ישבים שם ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 30

And the men of Babylon made Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,

- Les gens de Babylone firent Succoth Benoth, les gens de Cuth firent Nergal, les gens de Hamath firent Aschima, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες Βαβυλω̃νος ἐποίησαν τὴν Σοκχωθβαινιθ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες Χουθ ἐποίησαν τὴν Νηριγελ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες Αιμαθ ἐποίησαν τὴν Ασιμαθ (Ⅲ)

- Viri enim Babylonii fecerunt Sochothbenoth : viri autem Cuthæi fecerunt Nergel : et viri de Emath fecerunt Asima. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃17 ואנשי בבל עשו את סכות בנות ואנשי כות עשו את נרגל ואנשי חמת עשו את אשימא ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 31

And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.

- ceux d'Avva firent Nibchaz et Tharthak; ceux de Sepharvaïm brûlaient leurs enfants par le feu en l'honneur d'Adrammélec et d'Anammélec, dieux de Sepharvaïm. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ Ευαι̃οι ἐποίησαν τὴν Εβλαζερ καὶ τὴν Θαρθακ καὶ οἱ Σεπφαρουαιν κατέκαιον τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτω̃ν ἐν πυρὶ τω̨̃ Αδραμελεχ καὶ Ανημελεχ θεοι̃ς Σεπφαρουαιν (Ⅲ)

- Porro Hevæi fecerunt Nebahaz et Tharthac. Hi autem qui erant de Sepharvaim, comburebant filios suos igni, Adramelech et Anamelech diis Sepharvaim, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃17 והעוים עשו נבחז ואת תרתק והספרוים שרפים את בניהם באש לאדרמלך וענמלך *אלה **אלהי *ספרים **ספרוים ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 32

So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.

- Ils craignaient aussi l'Éternel, et ils se créèrent des prêtres des hauts lieux pris parmi tout le peuple: ces prêtres offraient pour eux des sacrifices dans les maisons des hauts lieux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃σαν φοβούμενοι τὸν κύριον καὶ κατώ̨κισαν τὰ βδελύγματα αὐτω̃ν ἐν τοι̃ς οἴκοις τω̃ν ὑψηλω̃ν ἃ ἐποίησαν ἐν Σαμαρεία̨ ἔθνος ἔθνος ἐν πόλει ἐν ἡ̨̃ κατώ̨κουν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ ἠ̃σαν φοβούμενοι τὸν κύριον καὶ ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοι̃ς ἱερει̃ς τω̃ν ὑψηλω̃ν καὶ ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοι̃ς ἐν οἴκω̨ τω̃ν ὑψηλω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- et nihilominus colebant Dominum. Fecerunt autem sibi de novissimis sacerdotes excelsorum, et ponebant eos in fanis sublimibus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃17 ויהיו יראים את יהוה ויעשו להם מקצותם כהני במות ויהיו עשים להם בבית הבמות ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 33

They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.

- Ainsi ils craignaient l'Éternel, et ils servaient en même temps leurs dieux d'après la coutume des nations d'où on les avait transportés. (Ⅱ)

- τὸν κύριον ἐφοβου̃ντο καὶ τοι̃ς θεοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἐλάτρευον κατὰ τὸ κρίμα τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν ὅθεν ἀπώ̨κισεν αὐτοὺς ἐκει̃θεν (Ⅲ)

- Et cum Dominum colerent, diis quoque suis serviebant juxta consuetudinem gentium, de quibus translati fuerant Samariam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃17 את יהוה היו יראים ואת אלהיהם היו עבדים כמשפט הגוים אשר הגלו אתם משם ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 34

Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;

- Ils suivent encore aujourd'hui leurs premiers usages: ils ne craignent point l'Éternel, et ils ne se conforment ni à leurs lois et à leurs ordonnances, ni à la loi et aux commandements prescrits par l'Éternel aux enfants de Jacob qu'il appela du nom d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης αὐτοὶ ἐποίουν κατὰ τὸ κρίμα αὐτω̃ν αὐτοὶ φοβου̃νται καὶ αὐτοὶ ποιου̃σιν κατὰ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτω̃ν καὶ κατὰ τὴν κρίσιν αὐτω̃ν καὶ κατὰ τὸν νόμον καὶ κατὰ τὴν ἐντολήν ἣν ἐνετείλατο κύριος τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ιακωβ οὑ̃ ἔθηκεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Usque in præsentem diem morem sequuntur antiquum : non timent Dominum, neque custodiunt cæremonias ejus, judicia, et legem, et mandatum, quod præceperat Dominus filiis Jacob, quem cognominavit Israël : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃17 עד היום הזה הם עשים כמשפטים הראשנים אינם יראים את יהוה ואינם עשים כחקתם וכמשפטם וכתורה וכמצוה אשר צוה יהוה את בני יעקב אשר שם שמו ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 35

With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:

- L'Éternel avait fait alliance avec eux, et leur avait donné cet ordre: Vous ne craindrez point d'autres dieux; vous ne vous prosternerez point devant eux, vous ne les servirez point, et vous ne leur offrirez point de sacrifices. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διέθετο κύριος μετ' αὐτω̃ν διαθήκην καὶ ἐνετείλατο αὐτοι̃ς λέγων οὐ φοβηθήσεσθε θεοὺς ἑτέρους καὶ οὐ προσκυνήσετε αὐτοι̃ς καὶ οὐ λατρεύσετε αὐτοι̃ς καὶ οὐ θυσιάσετε αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- et percusserat cum eis pactum, et mandaverat eis, dicens : Nolite timere deos alienos, et non adoretis eos, neque colatis eos, et non immoletis eis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃17 ויכרת יהוה אתם ברית ויצום לאמר לא תיראו אלהים אחרים ולא תשתחוו להם ולא תעבדום ולא תזבחו להם ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 36

But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.

- Mais vous craindrez l'Éternel, qui vous a fait monter du pays d'Égypte avec une grande puissance et à bras étendu; c'est devant lui que vous vous prosternerez, et c'est à lui que vous offrirez des sacrifices. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἀλλ' ἢ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ ὃς ἀνήγαγεν ὑμα̃ς ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου ἐν ἰσχύι μεγάλη̨ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι ὑψηλω̨̃ αὐτὸν φοβηθήσεσθε καὶ αὐτω̨̃ προσκυνήσετε καὶ αὐτω̨̃ θύσετε (Ⅲ)

- sed Dominum Deum vestrum, qui eduxit vos de terra Ægypti in fortitudine magna et in brachio extento, ipsum timete, et illum adorate, et ipsi immolate. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃17 כי אם את יהוה אשר העלה אתכם מארץ מצרים בכח גדול ובזרוע נטויה אתו תיראו ולו תשתחוו ולו תזבחו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 37

And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.

- Vous observerez et mettrez toujours en pratique les préceptes, les ordonnances, la loi et les commandements, qu'il a écrits pour vous, et vous ne craindrez point d'autres dieux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα καὶ τὸν νόμον καὶ τὰς ἐντολάς ἃς ἔγραψεν ὑμι̃ν φυλάσσεσθε ποιει̃ν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας καὶ οὐ φοβηθήσεσθε θεοὺς ἑτέρους (Ⅲ)

- Cæremonias quoque, et judicia, et legem, et mandatum, quod scripsit vobis, custodite ut faciatis cunctis diebus : et non timeatis deos alienos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃17 ואת החקים ואת המשפטים והתורה והמצוה אשר כתב לכם תשמרון לעשות כל הימים ולא תיראו אלהים אחרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 38

And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.

- Vous n'oublierez pas l'alliance que j'ai faite avec vous, et vous ne craindrez point d'autres dieux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὴν διαθήκην ἣν διέθετο μεθ' ὑμω̃ν οὐκ ἐπιλήσεσθε καὶ οὐ φοβηθήσεσθε θεοὺς ἑτέρους (Ⅲ)

- Et pactum quod percussit vobiscum, nolite oblivisci : nec colatis deos alienos, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃17 והברית אשר כרתי אתכם לא תשכחו ולא תיראו אלהים אחרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 39

But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.

- Mais vous craindrez l'Éternel, votre Dieu; et il vous délivrera de la main de tous vos ennemis. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἀλλ' ἢ τὸν κύριον θεὸν ὑμω̃ν φοβηθήσεσθε καὶ αὐτὸς ἐξελει̃ται ὑμα̃ς ἐκ πάντων τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- sed Dominum Deum vestrum timete, et ipse eruet vos de manu omnium inimicorum vestrorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃17 כי אם את יהוה אלהיכם תיראו והוא יציל אתכם מיד כל איביכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 40

Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.

- Et ils n'ont point obéi, et ils ont suivi leurs premiers usages. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἀκούσεσθε ἐπὶ τω̨̃ κρίματι αὐτω̃ν ὃ αὐτοὶ ποιου̃σιν (Ⅲ)

- Illi vero non audierunt, sed juxta consuetudinem suam pristinam perpetrabant. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃17 ולא שמעו כי אם כמשפטם הראשון הם עשים ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 41

So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.

- Ces nations craignaient l'Éternel et servaient leurs images; et leurs enfants et les enfants de leurs enfants font jusqu'à ce jour ce que leurs pères ont fait. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃σαν τὰ ἔθνη ταυ̃τα φοβούμενοι τὸν κύριον καὶ τοι̃ς γλυπτοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἠ̃σαν δουλεύοντες καί γε οἱ υἱοὶ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν αὐτω̃ν καθὰ ἐποίησαν οἱ πατέρες αὐτω̃ν ποιου̃σιν ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ)

- Fuerunt igitur gentes istæ timentes quidem Dominum, sed nihilominus et idolis suis servientes : nam et filii eorum, et nepotes, sicut fecerunt patres sui, ita faciunt usque in præsentem diem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃17 ויהיו הגוים האלה יראים את יהוה ואת פסיליהם היו עבדים גם בניהם ובני בניהם כאשר עשו אבתם הם עשים עד היום הזה פ‬ (Ⅴ)
