4. 1

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

- Une femme d'entre les femmes des fils des prophètes cria à Élisée, en disant: Ton serviteur mon mari est mort, et tu sais que ton serviteur craignait l'Éternel; or le créancier est venu pour prendre mes deux enfants et en faire ses esclaves. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ γυνὴ μία ἀπὸ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν τω̃ν προφητω̃ν ἐβόα πρὸς Ελισαιε λέγουσα ὁ δου̃λός σου ὁ ἀνήρ μου ἀπέθανεν καὶ σὺ ἔγνως ὅτι δου̃λος ἠ̃ν φοβούμενος τὸν κύριον καὶ ὁ δανιστὴς ἠ̃λθεν λαβει̃ν τοὺς δύο υἱούς μου ἑαυτω̨̃ εἰς δούλους (Ⅲ)

- Mulier autem quædam de uxoribus prophetarum clamabat ad Eliseum, dicens : Servus tuus vir meus mortuus est, et tu nosti quia servus tuus fuit timens Dominum : et ecce creditor venit ut tollat duos filios meos ad serviendum sibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃4 ואשה אחת מנשי בני הנביאים צעקה אל אלישע לאמר עבדך אישי מת ואתה ידעת כי עבדך היה ירא את יהוה והנשה בא לקחת את שני ילדי לו לעבדים ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 2

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

- Élisée lui dit: Que puis-je faire pour toi? Dis-moi, qu'as-tu à la maison? Elle répondit: Ta servante n'a rien du tout à la maison qu'un vase d'huile. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε τί ποιήσω σοι ἀνάγγειλόν μοι τί ἐστίν σοι ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ ἡ δὲ εἰ̃πεν οὐκ ἔστιν τη̨̃ δούλη̨ σου οὐθὲν ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ ὅτι ἀλλ' ἢ ὃ ἀλείψομαι ἔλαιον (Ⅲ)

- Cui dixit Eliseus : Quid vis ut faciam tibi ? dic mihi, quid habes in domo tua ? At illa respondit : Non habeo ancilla tua quidquam in domo mea, nisi parum olei quo ungar. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃4 ויאמר אליה אלישע מה אעשה לך הגידי לי מה יש *לכי **לך בבית ותאמר אין לשפחתך כל בבית כי אם אסוך שמן ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 3

Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

- Et il dit: Va demander au dehors des vases chez tous tes voisins, des vases vides, et n'en demande pas un petit nombre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτήν δευ̃ρο αἴτησον σαυτη̨̃ σκεύη ἔξωθεν παρὰ πάντων τω̃ν γειτόνων σου σκεύη κενά μὴ ὀλιγώση̨ς (Ⅲ)

- Cui ait : Vade, pete mutuo ab omnibus vicinis tuis vasa vacua non pauca, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃4 ויאמר לכי שאלי לך כלים מן החוץ מאת כל *שכנכי **שכניך‪[a]‬ כלים רקים אל תמעיטי ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 4

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

- Quand tu seras rentrée, tu fermeras la porte sur toi et sur tes enfants; tu verseras dans tous ces vases, et tu mettras de côté ceux qui seront pleins. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσελεύση̨ καὶ ἀποκλείσεις τὴν θύραν κατὰ σου̃ καὶ κατὰ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν σου καὶ ἀποχεει̃ς εἰς τὰ σκεύη ταυ̃τα καὶ τὸ πληρωθὲν ἀρει̃ς (Ⅲ)

- et ingredere, et claude ostium tuum cum intrinsecus fueris tu, et filii tui : et mitte inde in omnia vasa hæc, et cum plena fuerint, tolles. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃4 ובאת וסגרת הדלת בעדך ובעד בניך ויצקת על כל הכלים האלה והמלא תסיעי ‬ (Ⅴ)

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

- Alors elle le quitta. Elle ferma la porte sur elle et sur ses enfants; ils lui présentaient les vases, et elle versait. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν παρ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐποίησεν οὕτως καὶ ἀπέκλεισεν τὴν θύραν κατ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ κατὰ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν αὐτη̃ς αὐτοὶ προσήγγιζον πρὸς αὐτήν καὶ αὐτὴ ἐπέχεεν (Ⅲ)

- Ivit itaque mulier, et clausit ostium super se, et super filios suos : illi offerebant vasa, et illa infundebat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃4 ותלך מאתו ותסגר הדלת בעדה ובעד בניה הם מגשים אליה והיא *מיצקת **מוצקת ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 6

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

- Lorsque les vases furent pleins, elle dit à son fils: Présente-moi encore un vase. Mais il lui répondit: Il n'y a plus de vase. Et l'huile s'arrêta. (Ⅱ)

- ἕως ἐπλήσθησαν τὰ σκεύη καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτη̃ς ἐγγίσατε ἔτι πρός με σκευ̃ος καὶ εἰ̃πον αὐτη̨̃ οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι σκευ̃ος καὶ ἔστη τὸ ἔλαιον (Ⅲ)

- Cumque plena fuissent vasa, dixit ad filium suum : Affer mihi adhuc vas. Et ille respondit : Non habeo. Stetitque oleum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃4 ויהי כמלאת הכלים ותאמר אל בנה הגישה אלי עוד כלי ויאמר אליה אין עוד כלי ויעמד השמן ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 7

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

- Elle alla le rapporter à l'homme de Dieu, et il dit: Va vendre l'huile, et paie ta dette; et tu vivras, toi et tes fils, de ce qui restera. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθεν καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν τω̨̃ ἀνθρώπω̨ του̃ θεου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε δευ̃ρο καὶ ἀπόδου τὸ ἔλαιον καὶ ἀποτείσεις τοὺς τόκους σου καὶ σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου ζήσεσθε ἐν τω̨̃ ἐπιλοίπω̨ ἐλαίω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Venit autem illa, et indicavit homini Dei. Et ille : Vade, inquit, vende oleum, et redde creditori tuo : tu autem, et filii tui vivite de reliquo.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃4 ותבא ותגד לאיש האלהים ויאמר לכי מכרי את השמן ושלמי את *נשיכי **נשיך ואת *בניכי **ובניך תחיי בנותר פ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 8

And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

- Un jour Élisée passait par Sunem. Il y avait là une femme de distinction, qui le pressa d'accepter à manger. Et toutes les fois qu'il passait, il se rendait chez elle pour manger. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἡμέρα καὶ διέβη Ελισαιε εἰς Σουμαν καὶ ἐκει̃ γυνὴ μεγάλη καὶ ἐκράτησεν αὐτὸν φαγει̃ν ἄρτον καὶ ἐγένετο ἀφ' ἱκανου̃ του̃ εἰσπορεύεσθαι αὐτὸν ἐξέκλινεν του̃ ἐκει̃ φαγει̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Facta est autem quædam dies, et transibat Eliseus per Sunam : erat autem ibi mulier magna, quæ tenuit eum ut comederet panem : cumque frequenter inde transiret, divertebat ad eam ut comederet panem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃4 ויהי היום ויעבר אלישע אל שונם ושם אשה גדולה ותחזק בו לאכל לחם ויהי מדי עברו יסר שמה לאכל לחם ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 9

And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

- Elle dit à son mari: Voici, je sais que cet homme qui passe toujours chez nous est un saint homme de Dieu. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἡ γυνὴ πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτη̃ς ἰδοὺ δὴ ἔγνων ὅτι ἄνθρωπος του̃ θεου̃ ἅγιος οὑ̃τος διαπορεύεται ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς διὰ παντός (Ⅲ)

- Quæ dixit ad virum suum : Animadverto quod vir Dei sanctus est iste, qui transit per nos frequenter. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃4 ותאמר אל אישה הנה נא ידעתי כי איש אלהים קדוש הוא עבר עלינו תמיד ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 10

Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

- Faisons une petite chambre haute avec des murs, et mettons-y pour lui un lit, une table, un siège et un chandelier, afin qu'il s'y retire quand il viendra chez nous. (Ⅱ)

- ποιήσωμεν δὴ αὐτω̨̃ ὑπερω̨̃ον τόπον μικρὸν καὶ θω̃μεν αὐτω̨̃ ἐκει̃ κλίνην καὶ τράπεζαν καὶ δίφρον καὶ λυχνίαν καὶ ἔσται ἐν τω̨̃ εἰσπορεύεσθαι πρὸς ἡμα̃ς καὶ ἐκκλινει̃ ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Faciamus ergo ei cœnaculum parvum, et ponamus ei in eo lectulum, et mensam, et sellam, et candelabrum, ut cum venerit ad nos, maneat ibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃4 נעשה נא עלית קיר קטנה ונשים לו שם מטה ושלחן וכסא ומנורה והיה בבאו אלינו יסור שמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 11

And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.

- Élisée, étant revenu à Sunem, se retira dans la chambre haute et y coucha. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἡμέρα καὶ εἰση̃λθεν ἐκει̃ καὶ ἐξέκλινεν εἰς τὸ ὑπερω̨̃ον καὶ ἐκοιμήθη ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Facta est ergo dies quædam, et veniens divertit in cœnaculum, et requievit ibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃4 ויהי היום ויבא שמה ויסר אל העליה וישכב שמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 12

And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

- Il dit à Guéhazi, son serviteur: Appelle cette Sunamite. Guéhazi l'appela, et elle se présenta devant lui. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς Γιεζι τὸ παιδάριον αὐτου̃ κάλεσόν μοι τὴν Σωμανι̃τιν ταύτην καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτήν καὶ ἔστη ἐνώπιον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque ad Giezi puerum suum : Voca Sunamitidem istam. Qui cum vocasset eam, et illa stetisset coram eo, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃4 ויאמר אל גחזי נערו קרא לשונמית הזאת ויקרא לה ותעמד לפניו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 13

And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

- Et Élisée dit à Guéhazi: Dis-lui: Voici, tu nous as montré tout cet empressement; que peut-on faire pour toi? Faut-il parler pour toi au roi ou au chef de l'armée? Elle répondit: J'habite au milieu de mon peuple. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ εἰπὸν δὴ πρὸς αὐτήν ἰδοὺ ἐξέστησας ἡμι̃ν πα̃σαν τὴν ἔκστασιν ταύτην τί δει̃ ποιη̃σαί σοι εἰ ἔστιν λόγος σοι πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα ἢ πρὸς τὸν ἄρχοντα τη̃ς δυνάμεως ἡ δὲ εἰ̃πεν ἐν μέσω̨ του̃ λαου̃ μου ἐγώ εἰμι οἰκω̃ (Ⅲ)

- dixit ad puerum suum : Loquere ad eam : Ecce, sedule in omnibus ministrasti nobis : quid vis ut faciam tibi ? numquid habes negotium, et vis ut loquar regi, sive principi militiæ ? Quæ respondit : In medio populi mei habito. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃4 ויאמר לו אמר נא אליה הנה חרדת אלינו את כל החרדה הזאת מה לעשות לך היש לדבר לך אל המלך או אל שר הצבא ותאמר בתוך עמי אנכי ישבת ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 14

And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.

- Et il dit: Que faire pour elle? Guéhazi répondit: Mais, elle n'a point de fils, et son mari est vieux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν τί δει̃ ποιη̃σαι αὐτη̨̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν Γιεζι τὸ παιδάριον αὐτου̃ καὶ μάλα υἱὸς οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτη̃ς πρεσβύτης (Ⅲ)

- Et ait : Quid ergo vult ut faciam ei ? Dixitque Giezi : Ne quæras : filium enim non habet, et vir ejus senex est. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃4 ויאמר ומה לעשות לה ויאמר גיחזי אבל בן אין לה ואישה זקן ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 15

And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

- Et il dit: Appelle-la. Guéhazi l'appela, et elle se présenta à la porte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτήν καὶ ἔστη παρὰ τὴν θύραν (Ⅲ)

- Præcepit itaque ut vocaret eam : quæ cum vocata fuisset, et stetisset ante ostium, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃4 ויאמר קרא לה ויקרא לה ותעמד בפתח ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 16

And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

- Élisée lui dit: A cette même époque, l'année prochaine, tu embrasseras un fils. Et elle dit: Non! mon seigneur, homme de Dieu, ne trompe pas ta servante! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε πρὸς αὐτήν εἰς τὸν καιρὸν του̃τον ὡς ἡ ὥρα ζω̃σα σὺ περιειληφυι̃α υἱόν ἡ δὲ εἰ̃πεν μή κύριέ μου μὴ διαψεύση̨ τὴν δούλην σου (Ⅲ)

- dixit ad eam : In tempore isto, et in hac eadem hora, si vita comes fuerit, habebis in utero filium. At illa respondit : Noli quæso, domine mi vir Dei, noli mentiri ancillæ tuæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃4 ויאמר למועד הזה כעת חיה *אתי **את חבקת בן ותאמר אל אדני איש האלהים אל תכזב בשפחתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 17

And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

- Cette femme devint enceinte, et elle enfanta un fils à la même époque, l'année suivante, comme Élisée lui avait dit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν γαστρὶ ἔλαβεν ἡ γυνὴ καὶ ἔτεκεν υἱὸν εἰς τὸν καιρὸν του̃τον ὡς ἡ ὥρα ζω̃σα ὡς ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτὴν Ελισαιε (Ⅲ)

- Et concepit mulier, et peperit filium in tempore, et in hora eadem, qua dixerat Eliseus.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃4 ותהר האשה ותלד בן למועד הזה כעת חיה אשר דבר אליה אלישע ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 18

And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

- L'enfant grandit. Et un jour qu'il était allé trouver son père vers les moissonneurs, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἡδρύνθη τὸ παιδάριον καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ἐξη̃λθεν τὸ παιδάριον πρὸς τὸν πατέρα αὐτου̃ πρὸς τοὺς θερίζοντας (Ⅲ)

- Crevit autem puer : et cum esset quædam dies, et egressus isset ad patrem suum, ad messores, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃4 ויגדל הילד ויהי היום ויצא אל אביו אל הקצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 19

And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

- il dit à son père: Ma tête! ma tête! Le père dit à son serviteur: Porte-le à sa mère. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς τὸν πατέρα αὐτου̃ τὴν κεφαλήν μου τὴν κεφαλήν μου καὶ εἰ̃πεν τω̨̃ παιδαρίω̨ ἀ̃ρον αὐτὸν πρὸς τὴν μητέρα αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- ait patri suo : Caput meum doleo, caput meum doleo. At ille dixit puero : Tolle, et duc eum ad matrem suam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃4 ויאמר אל אביו ראשי ראשי ויאמר אל הנער שאהו אל אמו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 20

And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

- Le serviteur l'emporta et l'amena à sa mère. Et l'enfant resta sur les genoux de sa mère jusqu'à midi, puis il mourut. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃ρεν αὐτὸν πρὸς τὴν μητέρα αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐκοιμήθη ἐπὶ τω̃ν γονάτων αὐτη̃ς ἕως μεσημβρίας καὶ ἀπέθανεν (Ⅲ)

- Qui cum tulisset, et duxisset eum ad matrem suam, posuit eum illa super genua sua usque ad meridiem, et mortuus est. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃4 וישאהו ויביאהו אל אמו וישב על ברכיה עד הצהרים וימת ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 21

And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

- Elle monta, le coucha sur le lit de l'homme de Dieu, ferma la porte sur lui, et sortit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνήνεγκεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐκοίμισεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν κλίνην του̃ ἀνθρώπου του̃ θεου̃ καὶ ἀπέκλεισεν κατ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν (Ⅲ)

- Ascendit autem, et collocavit eum super lectulum hominis Dei, et clausit ostium : et egressa, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃4 ותעל ותשכבהו על מטת איש האלהים ותסגר בעדו ותצא ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 22

And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

- Elle appela son mari, et dit: Envoie-moi, je te prie, un des serviteurs et une des ânesses; je veux aller en hâte vers l'homme de Dieu, et je reviendrai. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτη̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἀπόστειλον δή μοι ἓν τω̃ν παιδαρίων καὶ μίαν τω̃ν ὄνων καὶ δραμου̃μαι ἕως του̃ ἀνθρώπου του̃ θεου̃ καὶ ἐπιστρέψω (Ⅲ)

- vocavit virum suum, et ait : Mitte mecum, obsecro, unum de pueris, et asinam, ut excurram usque ad hominem Dei, et revertar. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃4 ותקרא אל אישה ותאמר שלחה נא לי אחד מן הנערים ואחת האתנות וארוצה עד איש האלהים ואשובה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 23

And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

- Et il dit: Pourquoi veux-tu aller aujourd'hui vers lui? Ce n'est ni nouvelle lune ni sabbat. Elle répondit: Tout va bien. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν τί ὅτι σὺ πορεύη̨ πρὸς αὐτὸν σήμερον οὐ νεομηνία οὐδὲ σάββατον ἡ δὲ εἰ̃πεν εἰρήνη (Ⅲ)

- Qui ait illi : Quam ob causam vadis ad eum ? hodie non sunt calendæ, neque sabbatum. Quæ respondit : Vadam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃4 ויאמר מדוע *אתי **את *הלכתי **הלכת אליו היום לא חדש ולא שבת ותאמר שלום ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 24

Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.

- Puis elle fit seller l'ânesse, et dit à son serviteur: Mène et pars; ne m'arrête pas en route sans que je te le dise. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέσαξεν τὴν ὄνον καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς τὸ παιδάριον αὐτη̃ς ἄγε πορεύου μὴ ἐπίσχη̨ς μοι του̃ ἐπιβη̃ναι ὅτι ἐὰν εἴπω σοι (Ⅲ)

- Stravitque asinam, et præcepit puero : Mina, et propera : ne mihi moram facias in eundo : et hoc age quod præcipio tibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃4 ותחבש האתון ותאמר אל נערה נהג ולך אל תעצר לי לרכב כי אם אמרתי לך ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 25

So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

- Elle partit donc et se rendit vers l'homme de Dieu sur la montagne du Carmel. L'homme de Dieu, l'ayant aperçue de loin, dit à Guéhazi, son serviteur: Voici cette Sunamite! (Ⅱ)

- δευ̃ρο καὶ πορεύση̨ καὶ ἐλεύση̨ πρὸς τὸν ἄνθρωπον του̃ θεου̃ εἰς τὸ ὄρος τὸ Καρμήλιον καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἰ̃δεν Ελισαιε ἐρχομένην αὐτήν καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς Γιεζι τὸ παιδάριον αὐτου̃ ἰδοὺ δὴ ἡ Σωμανι̃τις ἐκείνη (Ⅲ)

- Profecta est igitur, et venit ad virum Dei in montem Carmeli : cumque vidisset eam vir Dei e contra, ait ad Giezi puerum suum : Ecce Sunamitis illa. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃4 ותלך ותבוא אל איש האלהים אל הר הכרמל ויהי כראות איש האלהים אתה מנגד ויאמר אל גיחזי נערו הנה השונמית הלז ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 26

Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:

- Maintenant, cours donc à sa rencontre, et dis-lui: Te portes-tu bien? Ton mari et ton enfant se portent-ils bien? Elle répondit: Bien. (Ⅱ)

- νυ̃ν δράμε εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐρει̃ς εἰ εἰρήνη σοι εἰ εἰρήνη τω̨̃ ἀνδρί σου εἰ εἰρήνη τω̨̃ παιδαρίω̨ ἡ δὲ εἰ̃πεν Εἰρήνη (Ⅲ)

- Vade ergo in occursum ejus, et dic ei : Recte ne agitur circa te, et circa virum tuum, et circa filium tuum ? Quæ respondit : Recte. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃4 עתה רוץ נא לקראתה ואמר לה השלום לך השלום לאישך השלום לילד ותאמר שלום ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 27

And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

- Et dès qu'elle fut arrivée auprès de l'homme de Dieu sur la montagne, elle embrassa ses pieds. Guéhazi s'approcha pour la repousser. Mais l'homme de Dieu dit: Laisse-la, car son âme est dans l'amertume, et l'Éternel me l'a caché et ne me l'a point fait connaître. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθεν πρὸς Ελισαιε εἰς τὸ ὄρος καὶ ἐπελάβετο τω̃ν ποδω̃ν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἤγγισεν Γιεζι ἀπώσασθαι αὐτήν καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε ἄφες αὐτήν ὅτι ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτη̃ς κατώδυνος αὐτη̨̃ καὶ κύριος ἀπέκρυψεν ἀπ' ἐμου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἀνήγγειλέν μοι (Ⅲ)

- Cumque venisset ad virum Dei in montem, apprehendit pedes ejus : et accessit Giezi ut amoveret eam. Et ait homo Dei : Dimitte illam : anima enim ejus in amaritudine est, et Dominus celavit a me, et non indicavit mihi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃4 ותבא אל איש האלהים אל ההר ותחזק ברגליו ויגש גיחזי להדפה ויאמר איש האלהים הרפה לה כי נפשה מרה לה ויהוה העלים ממני ולא הגיד לי ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 28

Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

- Alors elle dit: Ai-je demandé un fils à mon seigneur? N'ai-je pas dit: Ne me trompe pas? (Ⅱ)

- ἡ δὲ εἰ̃πεν μὴ ἠ̨τησάμην υἱὸν παρὰ του̃ κυρίου μου οὐκ εἰ̃πα οὐ πλανήσεις μετ' ἐμου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Quæ dixit illi : Numquid petivi filium a domino meo ? numquid non dixi tibi : Ne illudas me ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃4 ותאמר השאלתי בן מאת אדני הלא אמרתי לא תשלה אתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 29

Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

- Et Élisée dit à Guéhazi: Ceins tes reins, prends mon bâton dans ta main, et pars. Si tu rencontres quelqu'un, ne le salue pas; et si quelqu'un te salue, ne lui réponds pas. Tu mettras mon bâton sur le visage de l'enfant. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε τω̨̃ Γιεζι ζω̃σαι τὴν ὀσφύν σου καὶ λαβὲ τὴν βακτηρίαν μου ἐν τη̨̃ χειρί σου καὶ δευ̃ρο ὅτι ἐὰν εὕρη̨ς ἄνδρα οὐκ εὐλογήσεις αὐτόν καὶ ἐὰν εὐλογήση̨ σε ἀνήρ οὐκ ἀποκριθήση̨ αὐτω̨̃ καὶ ἐπιθήσεις τὴν βακτηρίαν μου ἐπὶ πρόσωπον του̃ παιδαρίου (Ⅲ)

- Et ille ait ad Giezi : Accinge lumbos tuos, et tolle baculum meum in manu tua, et vade. Si occurrerit tibi homo, non salutes eum : et si salutaverit te quispiam, non respondeas illi : et pones baculum meum super faciem pueri. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃4 ויאמר לגיחזי חגר מתניך וקח משענתי בידך ולך כי תמצא איש לא תברכנו וכי יברכך איש לא תעננו ושמת משענתי על פני הנער ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 30

And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

- La mère de l'enfant dit: L'Éternel est vivant et ton âme est vivante! je ne te quitterai point. Et il se leva et la suivit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἡ μήτηρ του̃ παιδαρίου ζη̨̃ κύριος καὶ ζη̨̃ ἡ ψυχή σου εἰ ἐγκαταλείψω σε καὶ ἀνέστη Ελισαιε καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὀπίσω αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Porro mater pueri ait : Vivit Dominus, et vivit anima tua, non dimittam te. Surrexit ergo, et secutus est eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃4 ותאמר אם הנער חי יהוה וחי נפשך אם אעזבך ויקם וילך אחריה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 31

And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

- Guéhazi les avait devancés, et il avait mis le bâton sur le visage de l'enfant; mais il n'y eut ni voix ni signe d'attention. Il s'en retourna à la rencontre d'Élisée, et lui rapporta la chose, en disant: L'enfant ne s'est pas réveillé. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Γιεζι διη̃λθεν ἔμπροσθεν αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐπέθηκεν τὴν βακτηρίαν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον του̃ παιδαρίου καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν φωνὴ καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ἀκρόασις καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν αὐτω̨̃ λέγων οὐκ ἠγέρθη τὸ παιδάριον (Ⅲ)

- Giezi autem præcesserat ante eos, et posuerat baculum super faciem pueri, et non erat vox, neque sensus : reversusque est in occursum ejus, et nuntiavit ei, dicens : Non surrexit puer. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃4 וגחזי עבר לפניהם וישם את המשענת על פני הנער ואין קול ואין קשב וישב לקראתו ויגד לו לאמר לא הקיץ הנער ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 32

And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.

- Lorsque Élisée arriva dans la maison, voici, l'enfant était mort, couché sur son lit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθεν Ελισαιε εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον καὶ ἰδοὺ τὸ παιδάριον τεθνηκὸς κεκοιμισμένον ἐπὶ τὴν κλίνην αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Ingressus est ergo Eliseus domum, et ecce puer mortuus jacebat in lectulo ejus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃4 ויבא אלישע הביתה והנה הנער מת משכב על מטתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 33

He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.

- Élisée entra et ferma la porte sur eux deux, et il pria l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθεν Ελισαιε εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον καὶ ἀπέκλεισεν τὴν θύραν κατὰ τω̃ν δύο ἑαυτω̃ν καὶ προσηύξατο πρὸς κύριον (Ⅲ)

- ingressusque clausit ostium super se et super puerum, et oravit ad Dominum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃4 ויבא ויסגר הדלת בעד שניהם ויתפלל אל יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 34

And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

- Il monta, et se coucha sur l'enfant; il mit sa bouche sur sa bouche, ses yeux sur ses yeux, ses mains sur ses mains, et il s'étendit sur lui. Et la chair de l'enfant se réchauffa. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέβη καὶ ἐκοιμήθη ἐπὶ τὸ παιδάριον καὶ ἔθηκεν τὸ στόμα αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τὸ στόμα αὐτου̃ καὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτου̃ καὶ τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτου̃ καὶ διέκαμψεν ἐπ' αὐτόν καὶ διεθερμάνθη ἡ σὰρξ του̃ παιδαρίου (Ⅲ)

- Et ascendit, et incubuit super puerum : posuitque os suum super os ejus, et oculos suos super oculos ejus, et manus suas super manus ejus : et incurvavit se super eum, et calefacta est caro pueri. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃4 ויעל וישכב על הילד וישם פיו על פיו ועיניו על עיניו וכפיו על *כפו **כפיו ויגהר עליו ויחם בשר הילד ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 35

Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

- Élisée s'éloigna, alla çà et là par la maison, puis remonta et s'étendit sur l'enfant. Et l'enfant éternua sept fois, et il ouvrit les yeux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν τη̨̃ οἰκία̨ ἔνθεν καὶ ἔνθεν καὶ ἀνέβη καὶ συνέκαμψεν ἐπὶ τὸ παιδάριον ἕως ἑπτάκις καὶ ἤνοιξεν τὸ παιδάριον τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- At ille reversus, deambulavit in domo, semel huc atque illuc : et ascendit, et incubuit super eum : et oscitavit puer septies, aperuitque oculos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃4 וישב וילך בבית אחת הנה ואחת הנה ויעל ויגהר עליו ויזורר הנער עד שבע פעמים ויפקח הנער את עיניו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 36

And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

- Élisée appela Guéhazi, et dit: Appelle cette Sunamite. Guéhazi l'appela, et elle vint vers Élisée, qui dit: Prends ton fils! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξεβόησεν Ελισαιε πρὸς Γιεζι καὶ εἰ̃πεν κάλεσον τὴν Σωμανι̃τιν ταύτην καὶ ἐκάλεσεν καὶ εἰση̃λθεν πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε λαβὲ τὸν υἱόν σου (Ⅲ)

- At ille vocavit Giezi, et dixit ei : Voca Sunamitidem hanc. Quæ vocata, ingressa est ad eum. Qui ait : Tolle filium tuum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃4 ויקרא אל גיחזי ויאמר קרא אל השנמית הזאת ויקראה ותבוא אליו ויאמר שאי בנך ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 37

Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

- Elle alla se jeter à ses pieds, et se prosterna contre terre. Et elle prit son fils, et sortit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθεν ἡ γυνὴ καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ τοὺς πόδας αὐτου̃ καὶ προσεκύνησεν ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν (Ⅲ)

- Venit illa, et corruit ad pedes ejus, et adoravit super terram : tulitque filium suum, et egressa est.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃4 ותבא ותפל על רגליו ותשתחו ארצה ותשא את בנה ותצא פ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 38

And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.

- Élisée revint à Guilgal, et il y avait une famine dans le pays. Comme les fils des prophètes étaient assis devant lui, il dit à son serviteur: Mets le grand pot, et fais cuire un potage pour les fils des prophètes. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Ελισαιε ἐπέστρεψεν εἰς Γαλγαλα καὶ ὁ λιμὸς ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τω̃ν προφητω̃ν ἐκάθηντο ἐνώπιον αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε τω̨̃ παιδαρίω̨ αὐτου̃ ἐπίστησον τὸν λέβητα τὸν μέγαν καὶ ἕψε ἕψεμα τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς τω̃ν προφητω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et Eliseus reversus est in Galgala. Erat autem fames in terra, et filii prophetarum habitabant coram eo. Dixitque uni de pueris suis : Pone ollam grandem, et coque pulmentum filiis prophetarum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃4 ואלישע שב הגלגלה והרעב בארץ ובני הנביאים ישבים לפניו ויאמר לנערו שפת הסיר הגדולה ובשל נזיד לבני הנביאים ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 39

And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.

- L'un d'eux sortit dans les champs pour cueillir des herbes; il trouva de la vigne sauvage et il y cueillit des coloquintes sauvages, plein son vêtement. Quand il rentra, il les coupa en morceaux dans le pot où était le potage, car on ne les connaissait pas. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν εἱ̃ς εἰς τὸν ἀγρὸν συλλέξαι αριωθ καὶ εὑ̃ρεν ἄμπελον ἐν τω̨̃ ἀγρω̨̃ καὶ συνέλεξεν ἀπ' αὐτη̃ς τολύπην ἀγρίαν πλη̃ρες τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐνέβαλεν εἰς τὸν λέβητα του̃ ἑψέματος ὅτι οὐκ ἔγνωσαν (Ⅲ)

- Et egressus est unus in agrum ut colligeret herbas agrestes : invenitque quasi vitem silvestrem, et collegit ex ea colocynthidas agri, et implevit pallium suum, et reversus concidit in ollam pulmenti : nesciebat enim quid esset. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃4 ויצא אחד אל השדה ללקט ארת וימצא גפן שדה וילקט ממנו פקעת שדה מלא בגדו ויבא ויפלח אל סיר הנזיד כי לא ידעו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 40

So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

- On servit à manger à ces hommes; mais dès qu'ils eurent mangé du potage, ils s'écrièrent: La mort est dans le pot, homme de Dieu! Et ils ne purent manger. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνέχει τοι̃ς ἀνδράσιν φαγει̃ν καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ ἐσθίειν αὐτοὺς ἐκ του̃ ἑψήματος καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνεβόησαν καὶ εἰ̃πον θάνατος ἐν τω̨̃ λέβητι ἄνθρωπε του̃ θεου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἠδύναντο φαγει̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Infuderunt ergo sociis ut comederent : cumque gustassent de coctione, clamaverunt, dicentes : Mors in olla, vir Dei. Et non potuerunt comedere. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃4 ויצקו לאנשים לאכול ויהי כאכלם מהנזיד והמה צעקו ויאמרו מות בסיר איש האלהים ולא יכלו לאכל ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 41

But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

- Élisée dit: Prenez de la farine. Il en jeta dans le pot, et dit: Sers à ces gens, et qu'ils mangent. Et il n'y avait plus rien de mauvais dans le pot. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν λάβετε ἄλευρον καὶ ἐμβάλετε εἰς τὸν λέβητα καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε πρὸς Γιεζι τὸ παιδάριον ἔγχει τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ καὶ ἐσθιέτωσαν καὶ οὐκ ἐγενήθη ἔτι ἐκει̃ ῥη̃μα πονηρὸν ἐν τω̨̃ λέβητι (Ⅲ)

- At ille : Afferte, inquit, farinam. Cumque tulissent, misit in ollam, et ait : Infunde turbæ, ut comedant. Et non fuit amplius quidquam amaritudinis in olla. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃4 ויאמר וקחו קמח וישלך אל הסיר ויאמר צק לעם ויאכלו ולא היה דבר רע בסיר ס‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 42

And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

- Un homme arriva de Baal Schalischa. Il apporta du pain des prémices à l'homme de Dieu, vingt pains d'orge, et des épis nouveaux dans son sac. Élisée dit: Donne à ces gens, et qu'ils mangent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνὴρ διη̃λθεν ἐκ Βαιθσαρισα καὶ ἤνεγκεν πρὸς τὸν ἄνθρωπον του̃ θεου̃ πρωτογενημάτων εἴκοσι ἄρτους κριθίνους καὶ παλάθας καὶ εἰ̃πεν δότε τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ καὶ ἐσθιέτωσαν (Ⅲ)

- Vir autem quidam venit de Baalsalisa deferens viro Dei panes primitiarum, viginti panes hordeaceos, et frumentum novum in pera sua. At ille dixit : Da populo, ut comedat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃4 ואיש בא מבעל שלשה ויבא לאיש האלהים לחם בכורים עשרים לחם שערים וכרמל בצקלנו ויאמר תן לעם ויאכלו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 43

And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.

- Son serviteur répondit: Comment pourrais-je en donner à cent personnes? Mais Élisée dit: Donne à ces gens, et qu'ils mangent; car ainsi parle l'Éternel: On mangera, et on en aura de reste. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ λειτουργὸς αὐτου̃ τί δω̃ του̃το ἐνώπιον ἑκατὸν ἀνδρω̃ν καὶ εἰ̃πεν δὸς τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ καὶ ἐσθιέτωσαν ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος φάγονται καὶ καταλείψουσιν (Ⅲ)

- Responditque ei minister ejus : Quantum est hoc, ut apponam centum viris ? Rursum ille ait : Da populo, ut comedat : hæc enim dicit Dominus : Comedent, et supererit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃4 ויאמר משרתו מה אתן זה לפני מאה איש ויאמר תן לעם ויאכלו כי כה אמר יהוה אכל והותר ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 44

So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.

- Il mit alors les pains devant eux; et ils mangèrent et en eurent de reste, selon la parole de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ κατέλιπον κατὰ τὸ ῥη̃μα κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Posuit itaque coram eis : qui comederunt, et superfuit juxta verbum Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 44 ׃4 ויתן לפניהם ויאכלו ויותרו כדבר יהוה פ‬ (Ⅴ)
