Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.
- Les Philistins livrèrent bataille à Israël, et les hommes d'Israël prirent la fuite devant les Philistins et tombèrent morts sur la montagne de Guilboa. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀλλόφυλοι ἐπολέμησαν πρὸς Ισραηλ καὶ ἔφυγον ἀπὸ προσώπου ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἔπεσον τραυματίαι ἐν ὄρει Γελβουε (Ⅲ) - Philisthiim autem pugnabant contra Israël, fugeruntque viri Israël Palæsthinos, et ceciderunt vulnerati in monte Gelboë. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃10 ופלשתים נלחמו בישראל וינס איש ישראל מפני פלשתים ויפלו חללים בהר גלבע (Ⅴ)

And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
- Les Philistins poursuivirent Saül et ses fils, et tuèrent Jonathan, Abinadab et Malki Schua, fils de Saül. (Ⅱ) - καὶ κατεδίωξαν ἀλλόφυλοι ὀπίσω Σαουλ καὶ ὀπίσω υἱω̃ν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἀλλόφυλοι τὸν Ιωναθαν καὶ τὸν Αμιναδαβ καὶ τὸν Μελχισουε υἱοὺς Σαουλ (Ⅲ) - Cumque appropinquassent Philisthæi, persequentes Saul et filios ejus, percusserunt Jonathan, et Abinadab, et Melchisua filios Saul. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃10 וידבקו פלשתים אחרי שאול ואחרי בניו ויכו פלשתים את יונתן ואת אבינדב ואת מלכי שוע בני שאול (Ⅴ)

And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.
- L'effort du combat porta sur Saül; les archers l'atteignirent et le blessèrent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐβαρύνθη ὁ πόλεμος ἐπὶ Σαουλ καὶ εὑ̃ρον αὐτὸν οἱ τοξόται ἐν τοι̃ς τόξοις καὶ πόνοις καὶ ἐπόνεσεν ἀπὸ τω̃ν τόξων (Ⅲ) - Et aggravatum est prælium contra Saul, inveneruntque eum sagittarii, et vulneraverunt jaculis. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃10 ותכבד המלחמה על שאול וימצאהו המורים בקשת ויחל מן היורים (Ⅴ)

Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
- Saül dit alors à celui qui portait ses armes: Tire ton épée, et transperce-m'en, de peur que ces incirconcis ne viennent me faire subir leurs outrages. Celui qui portait ses armes ne voulut pas, car il était saisi de crainte. Et Saül prit son épée, et se jeta dessus. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαουλ τω̨̃ αἴροντι τὰ σκεύη αὐτου̃ σπάσαι τὴν ῥομφαίαν σου καὶ ἐκκέντησόν με ἐν αὐτη̨̃ μὴ ἔλθωσιν οἱ ἀπερίτμητοι οὑ̃τοι καὶ ἐμπαίξωσίν μοι καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο ὁ αἴρων τὰ σκεύη αὐτου̃ ὅτι ἐφοβει̃το σφόδρα καὶ ἔλαβεν Σαουλ τὴν ῥομφαίαν καὶ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπ' αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Saul ad armigerum suum : Evagina gladium tuum, et interfice me, ne forte veniant incircumcisi isti, et illudant mihi. Noluit autem armiger ejus hoc facere, timore perterritus : arripuit ergo Saul ensem, et irruit in eum. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃10 ויאמר שאול אל נשא כליו שלף חרבך ודקרני בה פן יבאו הערלים האלה והתעללו בי ולא אבה נשא כליו כי ירא מאד סויקח שאול את החרב ויפל עליה (Ⅴ)

And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
- Celui qui portait les armes de Saül, le voyant mort, se jeta aussi sur son épée, et mourut. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δεν ὁ αἴρων τὰ σκεύη αὐτου̃ ὅτι ἀπέθανεν Σαουλ καὶ ἔπεσεν καί γε αὐτὸς ἐπὶ τὴν ῥομφαίαν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπέθανεν (Ⅲ) - Quod cum vidisset armiger ejus, videlicet mortuum esse Saul, irruit etiam ipse in gladium suum, et mortuus est. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃10 וירא נשא כליו כי מת שאול ויפל גם הוא על החרב וימת ס (Ⅴ)

So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house died together.
- Ainsi périrent Saül et ses trois fils, et toute sa maison périt en même temps. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέθανεν Σαουλ καὶ τρει̃ς υἱοὶ αὐτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ καὶ πα̃ς ὁ οἰ̃κος αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἀπέθανεν (Ⅲ) - Interiit ergo Saul : et tres filii ejus, et omnis domus illius pariter concidit. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃10 וימת שאול ושלשת בניו וכל ביתו יחדו מתו (Ⅴ)

And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.
- Tous ceux d'Israël qui étaient dans la vallée, ayant vu qu'on avait fui et que Saül et ses fils étaient morts, abandonnèrent leurs villes pour prendre aussi la fuite. Et les Philistins allèrent s'y établir. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δεν πα̃ς ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ ὁ ἐν τω̨̃ αὐλω̃νι ὅτι ἔφυγεν Ισραηλ καὶ ὅτι ἀπέθανεν Σαουλ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτου̃ καὶ κατέλιπον τὰς πόλεις αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἔφυγον καὶ ἠ̃λθον ἀλλόφυλοι καὶ κατώ̨κησαν ἐν αὐται̃ς (Ⅲ) - Quod cum vidissent viri Israël qui habitabant in campestribus, fugerunt : et Saul ac filiis ejus mortuis, dereliquerunt urbes suas, et huc illucque dispersi sunt : veneruntque Philisthiim, et habitaverunt in eis. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃10 ויראו כל איש ישראל אשר בעמק כי נסו וכי מתו שאול ובניו ויעזבו עריהם וינסו ויבאו פלשתים וישבו בהם ס (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
- Le lendemain, les Philistins vinrent pour dépouiller les morts, et ils trouvèrent Saül et ses fils tombés sur la montagne de Guilboa. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο τη̨̃ ἐχομένη̨ καὶ ἠ̃λθον ἀλλόφυλοι του̃ σκυλεύειν τοὺς τραυματίας καὶ εὑ̃ρον τὸν Σαουλ καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτου̃ πεπτωκότας ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει Γελβουε (Ⅲ) - Die igitur altero detrahentes Philisthiim spolia cæsorum, invenerunt Saul et filios ejus jacentes in monte Gelboë. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃10 ויהי ממחרת ויבאו פלשתים לפשט את החללים וימצאו את שאול ואת בניו נפלים בהר גלבע (Ⅴ)

And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armor, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the people.
- Ils le dépouillèrent, et emportèrent sa tête et ses armes. Puis ils firent annoncer ces bonnes nouvelles par tout le pays des Philistins à leurs idoles et au peuple. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξέδυσαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἔλαβον τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ τὰ σκεύη αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπέστειλαν εἰς γη̃ν ἀλλοφύλων κύκλω̨ του̃ εὐαγγελίσασθαι τοι̃ς εἰδώλοις αὐτω̃ν καὶ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Cumque spoliassent eum, et amputassent caput, armisque nudassent, miserunt in terram suam, ut circumferretur, et ostenderetur idolorum templis, et populis : (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃10 ויפשיטהו וישאו את ראשו ואת כליו וישלחו בארץ פלשתים[1] סביב לבשר את עצביהם ואת העם (Ⅴ)

And they put his armor in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.
- Ils mirent les armes de Saül dans la maison de leur dieu, et ils attachèrent son crâne dans le temple de Dagon. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔθηκαν τὰ σκεύη αὐτου̃ ἐν οἴκω̨ θεου̃ αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτου̃ ἔθηκαν ἐν οἴκω̨ Δαγων (Ⅲ) - arma autem ejus consecraverunt in fano dei sui, et caput affixerunt in templo Dagon. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃10 וישימו את כליו בית אלהיהם ואת גלגלתו תקעו בית דגון ס (Ⅴ)

And when all Jabeshgilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
- Tout Jabès en Galaad ayant appris tout ce que les Philistins avaient fait à Saül, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἤκουσαν πάντες οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Γαλααδ ἅπαντα ἃ ἐποίησαν ἀλλόφυλοι τω̨̃ Σαουλ καὶ τω̨̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Hoc cum audissent viri Jabes Galaad, omnia scilicet quæ Philisthiim fecerant super Saul, (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃10 וישמעו כל יביש גלעד את כל אשר עשו פלשתים לשאול (Ⅴ)

They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
- tous les hommes vaillants se levèrent, prirent le corps de Saül et ceux de ses fils, et les transportèrent à Jabès. Ils enterrèrent leur os sous le térébinthe, à Jabès, et ils jeûnèrent sept jours. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠγέρθησαν ἐκ Γαλααδ πα̃ς ἀνὴρ δυνατὸς καὶ ἔλαβον τὸ σω̃μα Σαουλ καὶ τὸ σω̃μα τω̃ν υἱω̃ν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἤνεγκαν αὐτὰ εἰς Ιαβις καὶ ἔθαψαν τὰ ὀστα̃ αὐτω̃ν ὑπὸ τὴν δρυ̃ν ἐν Ιαβις καὶ ἐνήστευσαν ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας (Ⅲ) - consurrexerunt singuli virorum fortium, et tulerunt cadavera Saul et filiorum ejus : attuleruntque ea in Jabes, et sepelierunt ossa eorum subter quercum, quæ erat in Jabes, et jejunaverunt septem diebus. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃10 ויקומו כל איש חיל וישאו את גופת שאול ואת גופת בניו ויביאום יבישה ויקברו את עצמותיהם תחת האלה ביבש ויצומו שבעת ימים (Ⅴ)

So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;
- Saül mourut, parce qu'il se rendit coupable d'infidélité envers l'Éternel, dont il n'observa point la parole, et parce qu'il interrogea et consulta ceux qui évoquent les morts. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέθανεν Σαουλ ἐν ται̃ς ἀνομίαις αὐτου̃ αἱ̃ς ἠνόμησεν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ κατὰ τὸν λόγον κυρίου διότι οὐκ ἐφύλαξεν ὅτι ἐπηρώτησεν Σαουλ ἐν τω̨̃ ἐγγαστριμύθω̨ του̃ ζητη̃σαι καὶ ἀπεκρίνατο αὐτω̨̃ Σαμουηλ ὁ προφήτης (Ⅲ) - Mortuus est ergo Saul propter iniquitates suas, eo quod prævaricatus sit mandatum Domini quod præceperat, et non custodierit illud : sed insuper etiam pythonissam consuluerit, (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃10 וימת שאול במעלו אשר מעל ביהוה על דבר יהוה אשר לא שמר וגם לשאול באוב לדרוש (Ⅴ)

And inquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.
- Il ne consulta point l'Éternel; alors l'Éternel le fit mourir, et transféra la royauté à David, fils d'Isaï. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐκ ἐζήτησεν κύριον καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν τὴν βασιλείαν τω̨̃ Δαυιδ υἱω̨̃ Ιεσσαι (Ⅲ) - nec speraverit in Domino : propter quod interfecit eum, et transtulit regnum ejus ad David filium Isai. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃10 ולא דרש ביהוה וימיתהו ויסב את המלוכה לדויד בן ישי פ (Ⅴ)
