11. 1

Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

- Tout Israël s'assembla auprès de David à Hébron, en disant: Voici, nous sommes tes os et ta chair. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθεν πα̃ς Ισραηλ πρὸς Δαυιδ ἐν Χεβρων λέγοντες ἰδοὺ ὀστα̃ σου καὶ σάρκες σου ἡμει̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Congregatus est igitur omnis Israël ad David in Hebron, dicens : Os tuum sumus, et caro tua. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃11 ויקבצו כל ישראל אל דויד חברונה לאמר הנה עצמך ובשרך אנחנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 2

And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel.

- Autrefois déjà, même lorsque Saül était roi, c'était toi qui conduisais et qui ramenais Israël. L'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'a dit: Tu paîtras mon peuple d'Israël, et tu seras le chef de mon peuple d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτην ὄντος Σαουλ βασιλέως σὺ ἠ̃σθα ὁ ἐξάγων καὶ εἰσάγων τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος ὁ θεός σού σοι σὺ ποιμανει̃ς τὸν λαόν μου τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ σὺ ἔση̨ εἰς ἡγούμενον ἐπὶ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Heri quoque et nudiustertius cum adhuc regnaret Saul, tu eras qui educebas et introducebas Israël : tibi enim dixit Dominus Deus tuus : Tu pasces populum meum Israël, et tu eris princeps super eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃11 גם תמול גם שלשום גם בהיות שאול מלך אתה המוציא והמביא את ישראל ויאמר יהוה אלהיך לך אתה תרעה את עמי את ישראל ואתה תהיה נגיד על עמי ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 3

Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.

- Ainsi tous les anciens d'Israël vinrent auprès du roi à Hébron, et David fit alliance avec eux à Hébron, devant l'Éternel. Ils oignirent David pour roi sur Israël, selon la parole de l'Éternel, prononcée par Samuel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθον πάντες πρεσβύτεροι Ισραηλ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα εἰς Χεβρων καὶ διέθετο αὐτοι̃ς ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαυιδ διαθήκην ἐν Χεβρων ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἔχρισαν τὸν Δαυιδ εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ κατὰ τὸν λόγον κυρίου διὰ χειρὸς Σαμουηλ (Ⅲ)

- Venerunt ergo omnes majores natu Israël ad regem in Hebron, et iniit David cum eis fœdus coram Domino : unxeruntque eum regem super Israël, juxta sermonem Domini quem locutus est in manu Samuel.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃11 ויבאו כל זקני ישראל אל המלך חברונה ויכרת להם דויד ברית בחברון לפני יהוה וימשחו את דויד למלך על ישראל כדבר יהוה ביד שמואל ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 4

And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.

- David marcha avec tout Israël sur Jérusalem, qui est Jebus. Là étaient les Jébusiens, habitants du pays. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ ἄνδρες Ισραηλ εἰς Ιερουσαλημ αὕτη Ιεβους καὶ ἐκει̃ οἱ Ιεβουσαι̃οι οἱ κατοικου̃ντες τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Abiit quoque David et omnis Israël in Jerusalem : hæc est Jebus, ubi erant Jebusæi habitatores terræ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃11 וילך דויד וכל ישראל ירושלם היא יבוס ושם היבוסי ישבי הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 5

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.

- Les habitants de Jebus dirent à David: Tu n'entreras point ici. Mais David s'empara de la forteresse de Sion: c'est la cité de David. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃παν δὲ οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Ιεβους τω̨̃ Δαυιδ οὐκ εἰσελεύση̨ ὡ̃δε καὶ προκατελάβετο τὴν περιοχὴν Σιων αὕτη ἡ πόλις Δαυιδ (Ⅲ)

- Dixeruntque qui habitabant in Jebus ad David : Non ingredieris huc. Porro David cepit arcem Sion, quæ est civitas David, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃11 ויאמרו ישבי יבוס לדויד לא תבוא הנה וילכד דויד את מצדת ציון היא עיר דויד ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 6

And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.

- David avait dit: Quiconque battra le premier les Jébusiens sera chef et prince. Joab, fils de Tseruja, monta le premier, et il devint chef. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πα̃ς τύπτων Ιεβουσαι̃ον ἐν πρώτοις καὶ ἔσται εἰς ἄρχοντα καὶ εἰς στρατηγόν καὶ ἀνέβη ἐπ' αὐτὴν ἐν πρώτοις Ιωαβ υἱὸς Σαρουια καὶ ἐγένετο εἰς ἄρχοντα (Ⅲ)

- dixitque : Omnis qui percusserit Jebusæum in primis, erit princeps et dux. Ascendit igitur primus Joab filius Sarviæ, et factus est princeps. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃11 ויאמר דויד כל מכה יבוסי בראשונה יהיה לראש ולשר ויעל בראשונה יואב בן צרויה ויהי לראש ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 7

And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.

- David s'établit dans la forteresse; c'est pourquoi on l'appela cité de David. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάθισεν Δαυιδ ἐν τη̨̃ περιοχη̨̃ διὰ του̃το ἐκάλεσεν αὐτὴν πόλιν Δαυιδ (Ⅲ)

- Habitavit autem David in arce, et idcirco appellata est civitas David. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃11 וישב דויד במצד על כן קראו לו עיר דויד ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 8

And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.

- Il fit tout autour de la ville des constructions, depuis Millo et aux environs; et Joab répara le reste de la ville. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν τὴν πόλιν κύκλω̨ καὶ ἐπολέμησεν καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν πόλιν (Ⅲ)

- Ædificavitque urbem in circuitu a Mello usque ad gyrum ; Joab autem reliqua urbis exstruxit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃11 ויבן העיר מסביב מן המלוא ועד הסביב ויואב יחיה את שאר העיר ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 9

So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.

- David devenait de plus en plus grand, et l'Éternel des armées était avec lui. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύετο Δαυιδ πορευόμενος καὶ μεγαλυνόμενος καὶ κύριος παντοκράτωρ μετ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Proficiebatque David vadens et crescens, et Dominus exercituum erat cum eo.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃11 וילך דויד הלוך וגדול ויהוה צבאות עמו פ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 10

These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.

- Voici les chefs des vaillants hommes qui étaient au service de David, et qui l'aidèrent avec tout Israël à assurer sa domination, afin de l'établir roi, selon la parole de l'Éternel au sujet d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὑ̃τοι οἱ ἄρχοντες τω̃ν δυνατω̃ν οἳ ἠ̃σαν τω̨̃ Δαυιδ οἱ κατισχύοντες μετ' αὐτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ βασιλεία̨ αὐτου̃ μετὰ παντὸς Ισραηλ του̃ βασιλευ̃σαι αὐτὸν κατὰ τὸν λόγον κυρίου ἐπὶ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Hi principes virorum fortium David, qui adjuverunt eum ut rex fieret super omnem Israël, juxta verbum Domini quod locutus est ad Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃11 ואלה ראשי הגבורים אשר לדויד המתחזקים עמו במלכותו עם כל ישראל להמליכו כדבר יהוה על ישראל ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 11

And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.

- Voici, d'après leur nombre, les vaillants hommes qui étaient au service de David. Jaschobeam, fils de Hacmoni, l'un des principaux officiers. Il brandit sa lance sur trois cents hommes, qu'il fit périr en une seule fois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὑ̃τος ὁ ἀριθμὸς τω̃ν δυνατω̃ν του̃ Δαυιδ Ιεσεβααλ υἱὸς Αχαμανι πρω̃τος τω̃ν τριάκοντα οὑ̃τος ἐσπάσατο τὴν ῥομφαίαν αὐτου̃ ἅπαξ ἐπὶ τριακοσίους τραυματίας ἐν καιρω̨̃ ἑνί (Ⅲ)

- Et iste numerus robustorum David : Jesbaam filius Hachamoni princeps inter triginta : iste levavit hastam suam super trecentos vulneratos una vice. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃11 ואלה מספר הגברים אשר לדויד ישבעם בן חכמוני ראש *השלושים **השלישים הוא עורר את חניתו על שלש מאות חלל בפעם אחת ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 12

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.

- Après lui, Éléazar, fils de Dodo, l'Achochite, l'un des trois guerriers. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ μετ' αὐτὸν Ελεαζαρ υἱὸς Δωδαι ὁ Αχωχι οὑ̃τος ἠ̃ν ἐν τοι̃ς τρισὶν δυνατοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Et post eum Eleazar filius patrui ejus Ahohites, qui erat inter tres potentes. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃11 ואחריו אלעזר בן דודו האחוחי הוא בשלושה הגברים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 13

He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.

- Il était avec David à Pas Dammim, où les Philistins s'étaient rassemblés pour combattre. Il y avait là une pièce de terre remplie d'orge; et le peuple fuyait devant les Philistins. (Ⅱ)

- οὑ̃τος ἠ̃ν μετὰ Δαυιδ ἐν Φασοδομιν καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι συνήχθησαν ἐκει̃ εἰς πόλεμον καὶ ἠ̃ν μερὶς του̃ ἀγρου̃ πλήρης κριθω̃ν καὶ ὁ λαὸς ἔφυγεν ἀπὸ προσώπου ἀλλοφύλων (Ⅲ)

- Iste fuit cum David in Phesdomim, quando Philisthiim congregati sunt ad locum illum in prælium : et erat ager regionis illius plenus hordeo, fugeratque populus a facie Philisthinorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃11 הוא היה עם דויד בפס דמים והפלשתים נאספו שם‪[1]‬ למלחמה ותהי חלקת השדה מלאה שעורים והעם נסו מפני פלשתים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 14

And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.

- Ils se placèrent au milieu du champ, le protégèrent, et battirent les Philistins. Et l'Éternel opéra une grande délivrance. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔστη ἐν μέσω̨ τη̃ς μερίδος καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐπάταξεν τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους καὶ ἐποίησεν κύριος σωτηρίαν μεγάλην (Ⅲ)

- Hi steterunt in medio agri, et defenderunt eum : cumque percussissent Philisthæos, dedit Dominus salutem magnam populo suo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃11 ויתיצבו בתוך החלקה ויצילוה ויכו את פלשתים ויושע יהוה תשועה גדולה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 15

Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

- Trois des trente chefs descendirent auprès de David sur le rocher dans la caverne d'Adullam, lorsque le camp des Philistins était dressé dans la vallée des Rephaïm. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέβησαν τρει̃ς ἐκ τω̃ν τριάκοντα ἀρχόντων εἰς τὴν πέτραν πρὸς Δαυιδ εἰς τὸ σπήλαιον Οδολλαμ καὶ παρεμβολὴ τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων παρεμβεβλήκει ἐν τη̨̃ κοιλάδι τω̃ν γιγάντων (Ⅲ)

- Descenderunt autem tres de triginta principibus ad petram, in qua erat David, ad speluncam Odollam, quando Philisthiim fuerant castrametati in valle Raphaim. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃11 וירדו שלושה מן השלושים ראש על הצר אל דויד אל מערת עדלם ומחנה פלשתים חנה בעמק רפאים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 16

And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.

- David était alors dans la forteresse, et il y avait un poste de Philistins à Bethléhem. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Δαυιδ τότε ἐν τη̨̃ περιοχη̨̃ καὶ τὸ σύστεμα τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων τότε ἐν Βαιθλεεμ (Ⅲ)

- Porro David erat in præsidio, et statio Philisthinorum in Bethlehem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃11 ודויד אז במצודה ונציב פלשתים אז בבית לחם ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 17

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!

- David eut un désir, et il dit: Qui me fera boire de l'eau de la citerne qui est à la porte de Bethléhem? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπεθύμησεν Δαυιδ καὶ εἰ̃πεν τίς ποτιει̃ με ὕδωρ ἐκ του̃ λάκκου Βαιθλεεμ του̃ ἐν τη̨̃ πύλη̨ (Ⅲ)

- Desideravit igitur David, et dixit : O si quis daret mihi aquam de cisterna Bethlehem, quæ est in porta ! (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃11 *ויתאו **ויתאיו דויד ויאמר מי ישקני מים מבור בית לחם אשר בשער ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 18

And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD.

- Alors les trois hommes passèrent au travers du camp des Philistins, et puisèrent de l'eau de la citerne qui est à la porte de Bethléhem. Ils l'apportèrent et la présentèrent à David; mais David ne voulut pas la boire, et il la répandit devant l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διέρρηξαν οἱ τρει̃ς τὴν παρεμβολὴν τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ὑδρεύσαντο ὕδωρ ἐκ του̃ λάκκου του̃ ἐν Βαιθλεεμ ὃς ἠ̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ πύλη̨ καὶ ἔλαβον καὶ ἠ̃λθον πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν Δαυιδ του̃ πιει̃ν αὐτὸ καὶ ἔσπεισεν αὐτὸ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Tres ergo isti per media castra Philisthinorum perrexerunt, et hauserunt aquam de cisterna Bethlehem quæ erat in porta, et attulerunt ad David ut biberet. Qui noluit, sed magis libavit illam Domino, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃11 ויבקעו השלשה במחנה פלשתים וישאבו מים מבור בית לחם אשר בשער וישאו ויבאו אל דויד ולא אבה דויד לשתותם וינסך אתם ליהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 19

And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.

- Il dit: Que mon Dieu me garde de faire cela! Boirais-je le sang de ces hommes qui sont allés au péril de leur vie? Car c'est au péril de leur vie qu'ils l'ont apportée. Et il ne voulut pas la boire. Voilà ce que firent ces trois vaillants hommes. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἵλεώς μοι ὁ θεὸς του̃ ποιη̃σαι τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το εἰ αἱ̃μα ἀνδρω̃ν τούτων πίομαι ἐν ψυχαι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ὅτι ἐν ψυχαι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἤνεγκαν αὐτό καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο πιει̃ν αὐτό ταυ̃τα ἐποίησαν οἱ τρει̃ς δυνατοί (Ⅲ)

- dicens : Absit ut in conspectu Dei mei hoc faciam, et sanguinem istorum virorum bibam : quia in periculo animarum suarum attulerunt mihi aquam. Et ob hanc causam noluit bibere : hæc fecerunt tres robustissimi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃11 ויאמר חלילה לי מאלהי מעשות זאת הדם האנשים האלה אשתה בנפשותם כי בנפשותם הביאום ולא אבה לשתותם אלה עשו שלשת הגבורים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 20

And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.

- Abischaï, frère de Joab, était le chef des trois. Il brandit sa lance sur trois cents hommes, et les tua; et il eut du renom parmi les trois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Αβεσσα ἀδελφὸς Ιωαβ οὑ̃τος ἠ̃ν ἄρχων τω̃ν τριω̃ν οὑ̃τος ἐσπάσατο τὴν ῥομφαίαν αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τριακοσίους τραυματίας ἐν καιρω̨̃ ἑνί καὶ οὑ̃τος ἠ̃ν ὀνομαστὸς ἐν τοι̃ς τρισίν (Ⅲ)

- Abisai quoque frater Joab ipse erat princeps trium, et ipse levavit hastam suam contra trecentos vulneratos, et ipse erat inter tres nominatissimus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃11 ואבשי אחי יואב הוא‪[c]‬ היה ראש השלושה והוא עורר את חניתו על שלש מאות חלל *ולא **ולו שם בשלושה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 21

Of the three, he was more honorable than the two; for he was their captain: howbeit he attained not to the first three.

- Il était le plus considéré des trois de la seconde série, et il fut leur chef; mais il n'égala pas les trois premiers. (Ⅱ)

- ἀπὸ τω̃ν τριω̃ν ὑπὲρ τοὺς δύο ἔνδοξος καὶ ἠ̃ν αὐτοι̃ς εἰς ἄρχοντα καὶ ἕως τω̃ν τριω̃ν οὐκ ἤρχετο (Ⅲ)

- et inter tres secundos inclytus, et princeps eorum : verumtamen usque ad tres primos non pervenerat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃11 מן השלושה בשנים נכבד ויהי להם לשר ועד השלושה לא בא ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 22

Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.

- Benaja, fils de Jehojada, fils d'un homme de Kabtseel, rempli de valeur et célèbre par ses exploits. Il frappa les deux lions de Moab. Il descendit au milieu d'une citerne, où il frappa un lion, un jour de neige. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Βαναιας υἱὸς Ιωδαε υἱὸς ἀνδρὸς δυνατου̃ πολλὰ ἔργα αὐτου̃ ὑπὲρ Καβασαηλ οὑ̃τος ἐπάταξεν τοὺς δύο αριηλ Μωαβ καὶ οὑ̃τος κατέβη καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν λέοντα ἐν τω̨̃ λάκκω̨ ἐν ἡμέρα̨ χιόνος (Ⅲ)

- Banaias filius Jojadæ viri robustissimi, qui multa opera perpetrarat, de Cabseel : ipse percussit duos ariel Moab, et ipse descendit et interfecit leonem in media cisterna tempore nivis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃11 בניה בן יהוידע בן איש חיל רב פעלים מן קבצאל הוא הכה את שני אריאל מואב והוא ירד והכה את הארי בתוך הבור ביום השלג ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 23

And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.

- Il frappa un Égyptien d'une stature de cinq coudées et ayant à la main une lance comme une ensouple de tisserand; il descendit contre lui avec un bâton, arracha la lance de la main de l'Égyptien, et s'en servit pour le tuer. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὑ̃τος ἐπάταξεν τὸν ἄνδρα τὸν Αἰγύπτιον ἄνδρα ὁρατὸν πεντάπηχυν καὶ ἐν χειρὶ του̃ Αἰγυπτίου δόρυ ὡς ἀντίον ὑφαινόντων καὶ κατέβη ἐπ' αὐτὸν Βαναιας ἐν ῥάβδω̨ καὶ ἀφείλατο ἐκ τη̃ς χειρὸς του̃ Αἰγυπτίου τὸ δόρυ καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτὸν ἐν τω̨̃ δόρατι αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et ipse percussit virum ægyptium, cujus statura erat quinque cubitorum, et habebat lanceam ut liciatorium texentium : descendit igitur ad eum cum virga, et rapuit hastam quam tenebat manu, et interfecit eum hasta sua. (Ⅳ)
