And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.
- L'année suivante, au temps où les rois se mettaient en campagne, Joab, à la tête d'une forte armée, alla ravager le pays des fils d'Ammon et assiéger Rabba. Mais David resta à Jérusalem. Joab battit Rabba et la détruisit. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ ἐπιόντι ἔτει ἐν τη̨̃ ἐξόδω̨ τω̃ν βασιλέων καὶ ἤγαγεν Ιωαβ πα̃σαν τὴν δύναμιν τη̃ς στρατια̃ς καὶ ἔφθειραν τὴν χώραν υἱω̃ν Αμμων καὶ ἠ̃λθεν καὶ περιεκάθισεν τὴν Ραββα καὶ Δαυιδ ἐκάθητο ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπάταξεν Ιωαβ τὴν Ραββα καὶ κατέσκαψεν αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - Factum est autem post anni circulum, eo tempore quo solent reges ad bella procedere, congregavit Joab exercitum, et robur militiæ, et vastavit terram filiorum Ammon : perrexitque et obsedit Rabba. Porro David manebat in Jerusalem, quando Joab percussit Rabba et destruxit eam. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃20 ויהי לעת תשובת השנה לעת צאת המלכים וינהג יואב את חיל הצבא וישחת את ארץ בני עמון ויבא ויצר את רבה ודויד ישב בירושלם ויך יואב את רבה ויהרסה (Ⅴ)

And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David's head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.
- David enleva la couronne de dessus la tête de son roi, et la trouva du poids d'un talent d'or: elle était garnie de pierres précieuses. On la mit sur la tête de David, qui emporta de la ville un très grand butin. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβεν Δαυιδ τὸν στέφανον Μολχολ βασιλέως αὐτω̃ν ἀπὸ τη̃ς κεφαλη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ εὑρέθη ὁ σταθμὸς αὐτου̃ τάλαντον χρυσίου καὶ ἐν αὐτω̨̃ λίθος τίμιος καὶ ἠ̃ν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Δαυιδ καὶ σκυ̃λα τη̃ς πόλεως ἐξήνεγκεν πολλὰ σφόδρα (Ⅲ) - Tulit autem David coronam Melchom de capite ejus, et invenit in ea auri pondo talentum, et pretiosissimas gemmas, fecitque sibi inde diadema : manubias quoque urbis plurimas tulit ; (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃20 ויקח דויד את עטרת מלכם מעל ראשו וימצאה משקל ככר זהב ובה אבן יקרה ותהי על ראש דויד ושלל העיר הוציא הרבה מאד (Ⅴ)

And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
- Il fit sortir les habitants, et il les mit en pièces avec des scies, des herses de fer et des haches; il traita de même toutes les villes des fils d'Ammon. David retourna à Jérusalem avec tout le peuple. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὸν λαὸν τὸν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἐξήγαγεν καὶ διέπρισεν πρίοσιν καὶ ἐν σκεπάρνοις σιδηροι̃ς καὶ οὕτως ἐποίησεν Δαυιδ τοι̃ς πα̃σιν υἱοι̃ς Αμμων καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν Δαυιδ καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς αὐτου̃ εἰς Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ) - populum autem, qui erat in ea, eduxit, et fecit super eos tribulas, et trahas, et ferrata carpenta transire, ita ut dissecarentur et contererentur. Sic fecit David cunctis urbibus filiorum Ammon : et reversus est cum omni populo suo in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃20 ואת העם אשר בה הוציא וישר במגרה ובחריצי הברזל ובמגרות וכן יעשה דויד לכל ערי בני עמון וישב דויד וכל העם ירושלם פ (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.
- Après cela, il y eut une bataille à Guézer avec les Philistins. Alors Sibbecaï, le Huschatite, tua Sippaï, l'un des enfants de Rapha. Et les Philistins furent humiliés. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ ταυ̃τα καὶ ἐγένετο ἔτι πόλεμος ἐν Γαζερ μετὰ τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων τότε ἐπάταξεν Σοβοχαι ὁ Ουσαθι τὸν Σαφου ἀπὸ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν τω̃ν γιγάντων καὶ ἐταπείνωσεν αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - Post hæc initum est bellum in Gazer adversum Philisthæos, in quo percussit Sobochai Husathites, Saphai de genere Raphaim, et humiliavit eos. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃20 ויהי אחריכן ותעמד מלחמה בגזר עם פלשתים אז הכה סבכי החשתי את ספי מילדי הרפאים ויכנעו (Ⅴ)

And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam.
- Il y eut encore une bataille avec les Philistins. Et Elchanan, fils de Jaïr, tua le frère de Goliath, Lachmi de Gath, qui avait une lance dont le bois était comme une ensouple de tisserand. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἔτι πόλεμος μετὰ τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐπάταξεν Ελλαναν υἱὸς Ιαϊρ τὸν Λεεμι ἀδελφὸν Γολιαθ του̃ Γεθθαίου καὶ ξύλον δόρατος αὐτου̃ ὡς ἀντίον ὑφαινόντων (Ⅲ) - Aliud quoque bellum gestum est adversus Philisthæos, in quo percussit Adeodatus filius Saltus Bethlehemites fratrem Goliath Gethæi, cujus hastæ lignum erat quasi liciatorium texentium. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃20 ותהי עוד מלחמה את פלשתים ויך אלחנן בן *יעור **יעיר את לחמי אחי גלית הגתי ועץ חניתו כמנור ארגים (Ⅴ)

And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot and he also was the son of the giant.
- Il y eut encore une bataille à Gath. Il s'y trouva un homme de haute taille, qui avait six doigts à chaque main et à chaque pied, vingt-quatre en tout, et qui était aussi issu de Rapha. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἔτι πόλεμος ἐν Γεθ καὶ ἠ̃ν ἀνὴρ ὑπερμεγέθης καὶ δάκτυλοι αὐτου̃ ἓξ καὶ ἕξ εἴκοσι τέσσαρες καὶ οὑ̃τος ἠ̃ν ἀπόγονος γιγάντων (Ⅲ) - Sed et aliud bellum accidit in Geth, in quo fuit homo longissimus, senos habens digitos, id est, simul viginti quatuor : qui et ipse de Rapha fuerat stirpe generatus. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃20 ותהי עוד מלחמה בגת ויהי איש מדה ואצבעתיו שש ושש עשרים וארבע וגם הוא נולד להרפא (Ⅴ)

But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him.
- Il jeta un défi à Israël; et Jonathan, fils de Schimea, frère de David, le tua. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὠνείδισεν τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν Ιωναθαν υἱὸς Σαμαα ἀδελφου̃ Δαυιδ (Ⅲ) - Hic blasphemavit Israël : et percussit eum Jonathan filius Samaa fratris David. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃20 ויחרף את ישראל ויכהו יהונתן בן שמעא אחי דויד (Ⅴ)

These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
- Ces hommes étaient des enfants de Rapha à Gath. Ils périrent par la main de David et par la main de ses serviteurs. (Ⅱ) - οὑ̃τοι ἐγένοντο Ραφα ἐν Γεθ πάντες ἠ̃σαν τέσσαρες γίγαντες καὶ ἔπεσον ἐν χειρὶ Δαυιδ καὶ ἐν χειρὶ παίδων αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Hi sunt filii Rapha in Geth, qui ceciderunt in manu David et servorum ejus.
