In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
- La trente-sixième année du règne d'Asa, Baescha, roi d'Israël, monta contre Juda; et il bâtit Rama, pour empêcher ceux d'Asa, roi de Juda, de sortir et d'entrer. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ὀγδόω̨ καὶ τριακοστω̨̃ ἔτει τη̃ς βασιλείας Ασα ἀνέβη Βαασα βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ ἐπὶ Ιουδαν καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν τὴν Ραμα του̃ μὴ δου̃ναι ἔξοδον καὶ εἴσοδον τω̨̃ Ασα βασιλει̃ Ιουδα (Ⅲ) - Anno autem trigesimo sexto regni ejus, ascendit Baasa rex Israël in Judam, et muro circumdabat Rama, ut nullus tute posset egredi et ingredi de regno Asa. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃16 בשנת שלשים ושש למלכות אסא עלה בעשא מלך ישראל על יהודה ויבן את הרמה לבלתי תת יוצא ובא לאסא מלך יהודה (Ⅴ)

Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent to Benhadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
- Asa sortit de l'argent et de l'or des trésors de la maison de l'Éternel et de la maison du roi, et il envoya des messagers vers Ben Hadad, roi de Syrie, qui habitait à Damas. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβεν Ασα χρυσίον καὶ ἀργύριον ἐκ θησαυρω̃ν οἴκου κυρίου καὶ οἴκου του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τὸν υἱὸν του̃ Αδερ βασιλέως Συρίας τὸν κατοικου̃ντα ἐν Δαμασκω̨̃ λέγων (Ⅲ) - Protulit ergo Asa argentum et aurum de thesauris domus Domini, et de thesauris regis, misitque ad Benadad regem Syriæ, qui habitabat in Damasco, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃16 ויצא אסא כסף וזהב מאצרות בית יהוה ובית המלך וישלח אל בן הדד מלך ארם היושב בדרמשק לאמר (Ⅴ)

There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
- Il lui fit dire: Qu'il y ait une alliance entre moi et toi, comme il y en eut une entre mon père et ton père. Voici, je t'envoie de l'argent et de l'or. Va, romps ton alliance avec Baescha, roi d'Israël, afin qu'il s'éloigne de moi. (Ⅱ) - διάθου διαθήκην ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμου̃ καὶ σου̃ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ πατρός μου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ πατρός σου ἰδοὺ ἀπέσταλκά σοι χρυσίον καὶ ἀργύριον δευ̃ρο καὶ διασκέδασον ἀπ' ἐμου̃ τὸν Βαασα βασιλέα Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπελθέτω ἀπ' ἐμου̃ (Ⅲ) - Fœdus inter me et te est ; pater quoque meus et pater tuus habuere concordiam : quam ob rem misi tibi argentum et aurum, ut rupto fœdere quod habes cum Baasa rege Israël, facias eum a me recedere. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃16 ברית ביני ובינך ובין אבי ובין אביך הנה שלחתי לך כסף וזהב לך הפר בריתך את בעשא מלך ישראל ויעלה מעלי (Ⅴ)

And Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.
- Ben Hadad écouta le roi Asa; il envoya les chefs de son armée contre les villes d'Israël, et ils frappèrent Ijjon, Dan, Abel Maïm, et tous les magasins des villes de Nephthali. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἤκουσεν υἱὸς Αδερ του̃ βασιλέως Ασα καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τοὺς ἄρχοντας τη̃ς δυνάμεως αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν Ιων καὶ τὴν Δαν καὶ τὴν Αβελμαιν καὶ πάσας τὰς περιχώρους Νεφθαλι (Ⅲ) - Quo comperto, Benadad misit principes exercituum suorum ad urbes Israël : qui percusserunt Ahion, et Dan, et Abelmaim, et universas urbes Nephthali muratas. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃16 וישמע בן[1] הדד אל המלך אסא וישלח את שרי החילים אשר לו אל ערי ישראל ויכו את עיון ואת דן ואת אבל מים ואת כל מסכנות ערי נפתלי (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.
- Lorsque Baescha l'apprit, il cessa de bâtir Rama et interrompit ses travaux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ ἀκου̃σαι Βαασα ἀπέλιπεν του̃ μηκέτι οἰκοδομει̃ν τὴν Ραμα καὶ κατέπαυσεν τὸ ἔργον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Quod cum audisset Baasa, desiit ædificare Rama, et intermisit opus suum. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃16 ויהי כשמע בעשא ויחדל מבנות את הרמה וישבת את מלאכתו ס (Ⅴ)

Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
- Le roi Asa occupa tout Juda à emporter les pierres et le bois que Baescha employait à la construction de Rama, et il s'en servit pour bâtir Guéba et Mitspa. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Ασα ὁ βασιλεὺς ἔλαβεν πάντα τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ ἔλαβεν τοὺς λίθους τη̃ς Ραμα καὶ τὰ ξύλα αὐτη̃ς ἃ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν Βαασα καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς τὴν Γαβαε καὶ τὴν Μασφα (Ⅲ) - Porro Asa rex assumpsit universum Judam, et tulerunt lapides de Rama, et ligna quæ ædificationi præparaverat Baasa, ædificavitque ex eis Gabaa et Maspha. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃16 ואסא המלך לקח את כל יהודה וישאו את אבני הרמה ואת עציה אשר בנה בעשא ויבן בהם את גבע ואת המצפה ס (Ⅴ)

And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.
- Dans ce temps-là, Hanani, le voyant, alla auprès d'Asa, roi de Juda, et lui dit: Parce que tu t'es appuyé sur le roi de Syrie et que tu ne t'es pas appuyé sur l'Éternel, ton Dieu, l'armée du roi de Syrie s'est échappée de tes mains. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ ἠ̃λθεν Ανανι ὁ προφήτης πρὸς Ασα βασιλέα Ιουδα καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ἐν τω̨̃ πεποιθέναι σε ἐπὶ βασιλέα Συρίας καὶ μὴ πεποιθέναι σε ἐπὶ κύριον θεόν σου διὰ του̃το ἐσώθη δύναμις Συρίας ἀπὸ τη̃ς χειρός σου (Ⅲ) - In tempore illo venit Hanani propheta ad Asa regem Juda, et dixit ei : Quia habuisti fiduciam in rege Syriæ, et non in Domino Deo tuo, idcirco evasit Syriæ regis exercitus de manu tua. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃16 ובעת ההיא בא חנני הראה אל אסא מלך יהודה ויאמר אליו בהשענך על מלך ארם ולא נשענת על יהוה אלהיך על כן נמלט חיל מלך ארם מידך (Ⅴ)

Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.
- Les Éthiopiens et les Libyens ne formaient-ils pas une grande armée, avec des chars et une multitude de cavaliers? Et cependant l'Éternel les a livrés entre tes mains, parce que tu t'étais appuyé sur lui. (Ⅱ) - οὐχ οἱ Αἰθίοπες καὶ Λίβυες ἠ̃σαν εἰς δύναμιν πολλὴν εἰς θάρσος εἰς ἱππει̃ς εἰς πλη̃θος σφόδρα καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ πεποιθέναι σε ἐπὶ κύριον παρέδωκεν εἰς τὰς χει̃ράς σου (Ⅲ) - Nonne Æthiopes et Libyes multo plures erant quadrigis, et equitibus, et multitudine nimia, quos cum Domino credidisses, tradidit in manu tua ? (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃16 הלא הכושים והלובים היו לחיל לרב לרכב ולפרשים להרבה מאד ובהשענך על יהוה נתנם בידך (Ⅴ)

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
- Car l'Éternel étend ses regards sur toute la terre, pour soutenir ceux dont le coeur est tout entier à lui. Tu as agi en insensé dans cette affaire, car dès à présent tu auras des guerres. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ κυρίου ἐπιβλέπουσιν ἐν πάση̨ τη̨̃ γη̨̃ κατισχυ̃σαι ἐν πάση̨ καρδία̨ πλήρει πρὸς αὐτόν ἠγνόηκας ἐπὶ τούτω̨ ἀπὸ του̃ νυ̃ν ἔσται μετὰ σου̃ πόλεμος (Ⅲ) - Oculi enim Domini contemplantur universam terram, et præbent fortitudinem his qui corde perfecto credunt in eum. Stulte igitur egisti, et propter hoc ex præsenti tempore adversum te bella consurgent. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃16 כי יהוה עיניו משטטות בכל הארץ להתחזק עם לבבם שלם אליו נסכלת על זאת כי מעתה יש עמך מלחמות (Ⅴ)

Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.
- Asa fut irrité contre le voyant, et il le fit mettre en prison, parce qu'il était en colère contre lui. Et dans le même temps Asa opprima aussi quelques-uns du peuple. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐθυμώθη Ασα τω̨̃ προφήτη̨ καὶ παρέθετο αὐτὸν εἰς φυλακήν ὅτι ὠργίσθη ἐπὶ τούτω̨ καὶ ἐλυμήνατο Ασα ἐν τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ (Ⅲ) - Iratusque Asa adversus videntem, jussit eum mitti in nervum : valde quippe super hoc fuerat indignatus : et interfecit de populo in tempore illo plurimos.\ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃16 ויכעס אסא אל הראה ויתנהו בית המהפכת כי בזעף עמו על זאת וירצץ אסא מן העם בעת ההיא (Ⅴ)

And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
- Les actions d'Asa, les premières et les dernières, sont écrites dans le livre des rois de Juda et d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἰδοὺ οἱ λόγοι Ασα οἱ πρω̃τοι καὶ οἱ ἔσχατοι γεγραμμένοι ἐν βιβλίω̨ βασιλέων Ιουδα καὶ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Opera autem Asa prima et novissima scripta sunt in libro regum Juda et Israël. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃16 והנה דברי אסא הראשונים והאחרונים הנם כתובים על ספר המלכים ליהודה וישראל (Ⅴ)

And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.
- La trente-neuvième année de son règne, Asa eut les pieds malades au point d'éprouver de grandes souffrances; même pendant sa maladie, il ne chercha pas l'Éternel, mais il consulta les médecins. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐμαλακίσθη Ασα ἐν τω̨̃ ἐνάτω̨ καὶ τριακοστω̨̃ ἔτει τη̃ς βασιλείας αὐτου̃ τοὺς πόδας ἕως σφόδρα ἐμαλακίσθη καὶ ἐν τη̨̃ μαλακία̨ αὐτου̃ οὐκ ἐζήτησεν κύριον ἀλλὰ τοὺς ἰατρούς (Ⅲ) - Ægrotavit etiam Asa anno trigesimo nono regni sui, dolore pedum vehementissimo, et nec in infirmitate sua quæsivit Dominum, sed magis in medicorum arte confisus est. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃16 ויחלא אסא בשנת שלושים ותשע למלכותו ברגליו עד למעלה חליו וגם בחליו לא דרש את יהוה כי ברפאים (Ⅴ)

And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
- Asa se coucha avec ses pères, et il mourut la quarante et unième année de son règne; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ασα μετὰ τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐτελεύτησεν ἐν τω̨̃ ἐνάτω̨ καὶ τριακοστω̨̃ ἔτει τη̃ς βασιλείας αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Dormivitque cum patribus suis, et mortuus est anno quadragesimo primo regni sui. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃16 וישכב אסא עם אבתיו וימת בשנת ארבעים ואחת למלכו (Ⅴ)

And they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odorous and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries' art: and they made a very great burning for him.
- on l'enterra dans le sépulcre qu'il s'était creusé dans la ville de David. On le coucha sur un lit qu'on avait garni d'aromates et de parfums préparés selon l'art du parfumeur, et l'on en brûla en son honneur une quantité très considérable. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν τω̨̃ μνήματι ὡ̨̃ ὤρυξεν ἑαυτω̨̃ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἐκοίμισαν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τη̃ς κλίνης καὶ ἔπλησαν ἀρωμάτων καὶ γένη μύρων μυρεψω̃ν καὶ ἐποίησαν αὐτω̨̃ ἐκφορὰν μεγάλην ἕως σφόδρα (Ⅲ) - Et sepelierunt eum in sepulchro suo quod foderat sibi in civitate David : posueruntque eum super lectum suum plenum aromatibus et unguentibus meretriciis, quæ erant pigmentariorum arte confecta, et combusserunt super eum ambitione nimia. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃16 ויקברהו בקברתיו אשר כרה לו בעיר דויד וישכיבהו במשכב אשר מלא בשמים וזנים מרקחים במרקחת מעשה וישרפו לו שרפה גדולה עד למאד פ (Ⅴ)
