22. 1

And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.

- Les habitants de Jérusalem firent régner à sa place Achazia, son plus jeune fils; car la troupe venue au camp avec les Arabes avait tué tous les plus âgés. Ainsi régna Achazia, fils de Joram, roi de Juda. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν οἱ κατοικου̃ντες ἐν Ιερουσαλημ τὸν Οχοζιαν υἱὸν αὐτου̃ τὸν μικρὸν ἀντ' αὐτου̃ ὅτι πάντας τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους ἀπέκτεινεν τὸ λη̨στήριον τὸ ἐπελθὸν ἐπ' αὐτούς οἱ 'Άραβες καὶ οἱ Αλιμαζονει̃ς καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Οχοζιας υἱὸς Ιωραμ βασιλέως Ιουδα (Ⅲ)

- Constituerunt autem habitatores Jerusalem Ochoziam filium ejus minimum regem pro eo : omnes enim majores natu, qui ante eum fuerant, interfecerant latrones Arabum qui irruerant in castra : regnavitque Ochozias filius Joram regis Juda. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃22 וימליכו יושבי ירושלם את אחזיהו בנו הקטן תחתיו כי כל הראשנים הרג הגדוד הבא בערבים למחנה וימלך אחזיהו בן יהורם מלך יהודה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 2

Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.

- Achazia avait quarante-deux ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna un an à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Athalie, fille d'Omri. (Ⅱ)

- ὢν εἴκοσι ἐτω̃ν Οχοζιας ἐβασίλευσεν καὶ ἐνιαυτὸν ἕνα ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τη̨̃ μητρὶ αὐτου̃ Γοθολια θυγάτηρ Αμβρι (Ⅲ)

- Quadraginta duorum annorum erat Ochozias cum regnare cœpisset, et uno anno regnavit in Jerusalem : et nomen matris ejus Athalia filia Amri. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃22 בן ארבעים ושתים שנה אחזיהו במלכו ושנה אחת מלך בירושלם ושם אמו עתליהו בת עמרי ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 3

He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.

- Il marcha dans les voies de la maison d'Achab, car sa mère lui donnait des conseils impies. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὑ̃τος ἐπορεύθη ἐν ὁδω̨̃ οἴκου Αχααβ ὅτι μήτηρ αὐτου̃ ἠ̃ν σύμβουλος του̃ ἁμαρτάνειν (Ⅲ)

- Sed et ipse ingressus est per vias domus Achab : mater enim ejus impulit eum ut impie ageret. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃22 גם הוא הלך בדרכי בית אחאב כי אמו היתה יועצתו להרשיע ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 4

Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his counselors after the death of his father to his destruction.

- Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, comme la maison d'Achab, où il eut après la mort de son père des conseillers pour sa perte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου ὡς οἰ̃κος Αχααβ ὅτι αὐτοὶ ἠ̃σαν αὐτω̨̃ μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανει̃ν τὸν πατέρα αὐτου̃ σύμβουλοι του̃ ἐξολεθρευ̃σαι αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Fecit igitur malum in conspectu Domini, sicut domus Achab : ipsi enim fuerunt ei consiliarii post mortem patris sui, in interitum ejus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃22 ויעש הרע בעיני יהוה כבית אחאב כי המה היו לו יועצים אחרי מות אביו למשחית לו ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 5

He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramothgilead: and the Syrians smote Joram.

- Entraîné par leur conseil, il alla avec Joram, fils d'Achab, roi d'Israël, à la guerre contre Hazaël, roi de Syrie, à Ramoth en Galaad. Et les Syriens blessèrent Joram. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν ται̃ς βουλαι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἐπορεύθη μετὰ Ιωραμ υἱου̃ Αχααβ εἰς πόλεμον ἐπὶ Αζαηλ βασιλέα Συρίας εἰς Ραμα Γαλααδ καὶ ἐπάταξαν οἱ τοξόται τὸν Ιωραμ (Ⅲ)

- ambulavitque in consiliis eorum. Et perrexit cum Joram filio Achab rege Israël in bellum contra Hazaël regem Syriæ in Ramoth Galaad : vulneraveruntque Syri Joram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃22 גם בעצתם הלך וילך את יהורם בן אחאב מלך ישראל למלחמה על חזאל מלך ארם ברמות גלעד ויכו הרמים את יורם ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 6

And he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick.

- Joram s'en retourna pour se faire guérir à Jizreel des blessures que les Syriens lui avaient faites à Rama, lorsqu'il se battait contre Hazaël, roi de Syrie. Azaria, fils de Joram, roi de Juda, descendit pour voir Joram, fils d'Achab, à Jizreel, parce qu'il était malade. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν Ιωραμ του̃ ἰατρευθη̃ναι εἰς Ιεζραελ ἀπὸ τω̃ν πληγω̃ν ὡ̃ν ἐπάταξαν αὐτὸν οἱ Σύροι ἐν Ραμα ἐν τω̨̃ πολεμει̃ν αὐτὸν πρὸς Αζαηλ βασιλέα Συρίας καὶ Οχοζιας υἱὸς Ιωραμ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα κατέβη θεάσασθαι τὸν Ιωραμ υἱὸν Αχααβ εἰς Ιεζραελ ὅτι ἠρρώστει (Ⅲ)

- Qui reversus est ut curaretur in Jezrahel : multas enim plagas acceperat in supradicto certamine. Igitur Ochozias filius Joram rex Juda descendit ut inviseret Joram filium Achab in Jezrahel ægrotantem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃22 וישב להתרפא ביזרעאל כי המכים אשר הכהו ברמה בהלחמו את חזהאל מלך ארם ועזריהו בן יהורם מלך יהודה ירד לראות את יהורם בן אחאב ביזרעאל כי חלה הוא ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 7

And the destruction of Ahaziah was of God by coming to Joram: for when he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

- Par la volonté de Dieu, ce fut pour sa ruine qu'Achazia se rendit auprès de Joram. Lorsqu'il fut arrivé, il sortit avec Joram pour aller au-devant de Jéhu, fils de Nimschi, que l'Éternel avait oint pour exterminer la maison d'Achab. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ παρὰ του̃ θεου̃ ἐγένετο καταστροφὴ Οχοζια ἐλθει̃ν πρὸς Ιωραμ καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ἐλθει̃ν αὐτὸν ἐξη̃λθεν μετ' αὐτου̃ Ιωραμ πρὸς Ιου υἱὸν Ναμεσσι χριστὸν κυρίου τὸν οἰ̃κον Αχααβ (Ⅲ)

- Voluntatis quippe fuit Dei adversus Ochoziam, ut veniret ad Joram : et cum venisset, et egrederetur cum eo adversum Jehu filium Namsi, quem unxit Dominus ut deleret domum Achab. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃22 ומאלהים היתה תבוסת אחזיהו לבוא אל יורם ובבאו יצא עם יהורם אל יהוא בן נמשי אשר משחו יהוה להכרית את בית אחאב ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 8

And it came to pass, that, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, that ministered to Ahaziah, he slew them.

- Et comme Jéhu faisait justice de la maison d'Achab, il trouva les chefs de Juda et les fils des frères d'Achazia, qui étaient au service d'Achazia, et il les tua. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἐξεδίκησεν Ιου τὸν οἰ̃κον Αχααβ καὶ εὑ̃ρεν τοὺς ἄρχοντας Ιουδα καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς Οχοζια λειτουργου̃ντας τω̨̃ Οχοζια καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Cum ergo everteret Jehu domum Achab, invenit principes Juda, et filios fratrum Ochoziæ, qui ministrabant ei, et interfecit illos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃22 ויהי כהשפט יהוא עם בית אחאב וימצא את שרי יהודה ובני אחי אחזיהו משרתים לאחזיהו ויהרגם ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 9

And he sought Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria,) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.

- Il chercha Achazia, et on le saisit dans Samarie, où il s'était caché. On l'amena auprès de Jéhu, et on le fit mourir. Puis ils l'enterrèrent, car ils disaient: C'est le fils de Josaphat, qui cherchait l'Éternel de tout son coeur. Et il ne resta personne de la maison d'Achazia qui fût en état de régner. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν του̃ ζητη̃σαι τὸν Οχοζιαν καὶ κατέλαβον αὐτὸν ἰατρευόμενον ἐν Σαμαρεία̨ καὶ ἤγαγον αὐτὸν πρὸς Ιου καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτόν καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτόν ὅτι εἰ̃παν υἱὸς Ιωσαφατ ἐστίν ὃς ἐζήτησεν τὸν κύριον ἐν ὅλη̨ καρδία̨ αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ἐν οἴκω̨ Οχοζια κατισχυ̃σαι δύναμιν περὶ τη̃ς βασιλείας (Ⅲ)

- Ipsum quoque perquirens Ochoziam, comprehendit latitantem in Samaria : adductumque ad se, occidit : et sepelierunt eum, eo quod esset filius Josaphat, qui quæsierat Dominum in toto corde suo.\ Nec erat ultra spes aliqua ut de stirpe quis regnaret Ochoziæ : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃22 ויבקש את אחזיהו וילכדהו והוא מתחבא בשמרון ויבאהו אל יהוא וימתהו ויקברהו כי אמרו בן יהושפט הוא אשר דרש את יהוה בכל לבבו ואין לבית אחזיהו לעצר כח לממלכה ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 10

But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.

- Athalie, mère d'Achazia, voyant que son fils était mort, se leva et fit périr toute la race royale de la maison de Juda. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Γοθολια ἡ μήτηρ Οχοζια εἰ̃δεν ὅτι τέθνηκεν αὐτη̃ς ὁ υἱός καὶ ἠγέρθη καὶ ἀπώλεσεν πα̃ν τὸ σπέρμα τη̃ς βασιλείας ἐν οἴκω̨ Ιουδα (Ⅲ)

- siquidem Athalia mater ejus, videns quod mortuus esset filius suus, surrexit, et interfecit omnem stirpem regiam domus Joram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃22 ועתליהו אם אחזיהו ראתה כי מת בנה ותקם ותדבר את כל זרע הממלכה לבית יהודה ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 11

But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not.

- Mais Joschabeath, fille du roi, prit Joas, fils d'Achazia, et l'enleva du milieu des fils du roi, quand on les fit mourir: elle le mit avec sa nourrice dans la chambre des lits. Ainsi Joschabeath, fille du roi Joram, femme du sacrificateur Jehojada, et soeur d'Achazia, le déroba aux regards d'Athalie, qui ne le fit point mourir. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωσαβεθ ἡ θυγάτηρ του̃ βασιλέως τὸν Ιωας υἱὸν Οχοζια καὶ ἔκλεψεν αὐτὸν ἐκ μέσου υἱω̃ν του̃ βασιλέως τω̃ν θανατουμένων καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸν καὶ τὴν τροφὸν αὐτου̃ εἰς ταμίειον τω̃ν κλινω̃ν καὶ ἔκρυψεν αὐτὸν Ιωσαβεθ θυγάτηρ του̃ βασιλέως Ιωραμ ἀδελφὴ Οχοζιου γυνὴ Ιωδαε του̃ ἱερέως καὶ ἔκρυψεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ προσώπου Γοθολιας καὶ οὐκ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Porro Josabeth filia regis tulit Joas filium Ochoziæ, et furata est eum de medio filiorum regis, cum interficerentur : absconditque eum cum nutrice sua in cubiculo lectulorum : Josabeth autem, quæ absconderat eum, erat filia regis Joram, uxor Jojadæ pontificis, soror Ochoziæ : et idcirco Athalia non interfecit eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃22 ותקח יהושבעת בת המלך את יואש בן אחזיהו ותגנב אתו מתוך בני המלך המומתים ותתן אתו ואת מינקתו בחדר המטות ותסתירהו יהושבעת בת המלך יהורם אשת יהוידע הכהן כי היא היתה אחות אחזיהו מפני עתליהו ולא המיתתהו ‬ (Ⅴ)

22. 12

And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land.

- Il resta six ans caché avec eux dans la maison de Dieu. Et c'était Athalie qui régnait dans le pays. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃ν μετ' αὐτη̃ς ἐν οἴκω̨ του̃ θεου̃ κατακεκρυμμένος ἓξ ἔτη καὶ Γοθολια ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Fuit ergo cum eis in domo Dei absconditus sex annis, quibus regnavit Athalia super terram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃22 ויהי אתם בבית האלהים מתחבא שש שנים ועתליה מלכת על הארץ פ‬ (Ⅴ)
