24. 1

Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Zibiah of Beersheba.

- Joas avait sept ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna quarante ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Tsibja, de Beer Schéba. (Ⅱ)

- ὢν ἑπτὰ ἐτω̃ν Ιωας ἐν τω̨̃ βασιλευ̃σαι αὐτὸν καὶ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τη̨̃ μητρὶ αὐτου̃ Σαβια ἐκ Βηρσαβεε (Ⅲ)

- Septem annorum erat Joas cum regnare cœpisset, et quadraginta annis regnavit in Jerusalem : nomen matris ejus Sebia de Bersabee. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃24 בן שבע שנים יאש במלכו וארבעים שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו צביה מבאר שבע ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 2

And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

- Joas fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel pendant toute la vie du sacrificateur Jehojada. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησεν Ιωας τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον κυρίου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας Ιωδαε του̃ ἱερέως (Ⅲ)

- Fecitque quod bonum est coram Domino cunctis diebus Jojadæ sacerdotis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃24 ויעש יואש הישר בעיני יהוה כל ימי יהוידע הכהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 3

And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters.

- Jehojada prit pour Joas deux femmes, et Joas engendra des fils et des filles. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτω̨̃ Ιωδαε γυναι̃κας δύο καὶ ἐγέννησεν υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας (Ⅲ)

- Accepit autem ei Jojada uxores duas, e quibus genuit filios et filias.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃24 וישא לו יהוידע נשים שתים ויולד בנים ובנות ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 4

And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of the LORD.

- Après cela, Joas eut la pensée de réparer la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ ταυ̃τα καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπὶ καρδίαν Ιωας ἐπισκευάσαι τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Post quæ placuit Joas ut instauraret domum Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃24 ויהי אחריכן היה עם לב יואש לחדש את בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 5

And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.

- Il assembla les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, et leur dit: Allez par les villes de Juda, et vous recueillerez dans tout Israël de l'argent, chaque année, pour réparer la maison de votre Dieu; et mettez à cette affaire de l'empressement. Mais les Lévites ne se hâtèrent point. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνήγαγεν τοὺς ἱερει̃ς καὶ τοὺς Λευίτας καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς ἐξέλθατε εἰς τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα καὶ συναγάγετε ἀπὸ παντὸς Ισραηλ ἀργύριον κατισχυ̃σαι τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου ἐνιαυτὸν κατ' ἐνιαυτὸν καὶ σπεύσατε λαλη̃σαι καὶ οὐκ ἔσπευσαν οἱ Λευι̃ται (Ⅲ)

- Congregavitque sacerdotes et Levitas, et dixit eis : Egredimini ad civitates Juda, et colligite de universo Israël pecuniam ad sartatecta templi Dei vestri per singulos annos, festinatoque hoc facite. Porro Levitæ egere negligentius. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃24 ויקבץ את הכהנים והלוים ויאמר להם צאו לערי יהודה וקבצו מכל ישראל כסף לחזק את בית אלהיכם מדי שנה בשנה ואתם תמהרו לדבר ולא מהרו הלוים ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 6

And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said unto him, Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, according to the commandment of Moses the servant of the LORD, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness?

- Le roi appela Jehojada, le souverain sacrificateur, et lui dit: Pourquoi n'as-tu pas veillé à ce que les Lévites apportassent de Juda et de Jérusalem l'impôt ordonné par Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, et mis sur l'assemblée d'Israël pour la tente du témoignage? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωας τὸν Ιωδαε τὸν ἄρχοντα καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ διὰ τί οὐκ ἐπεσκέψω περὶ τω̃ν Λευιτω̃ν του̃ εἰσενέγκαι ἀπὸ Ιουδα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ τὸ κεκριμένον ὑπὸ Μωυση̃ ἀνθρώπου του̃ θεου̃ ὅτε ἐξεκκλησίασεν τὸν Ισραηλ εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν του̃ μαρτυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Vocavitque rex Jojadam principem, et dixit ei : Quare tibi non fuit curæ, ut cogeres Levitas inferre de Juda et de Jerusalem pecuniam quæ constituta est a Moyse servo Domini, ut inferret eam omnis multitudo Israël in tabernaculum testimonii ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃24 ויקרא המלך ליהוידע הראש ויאמר לו מדוע לא דרשת על הלוים להביא מיהודה ומירושלם את משאת משה עבד יהוה והקהל לישראל לאהל העדות ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 7

For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD did they bestow upon Baalim.

- Car l'impie Athalie et ses fils ont ravagé la maison de Dieu et fait servir pour les Baals toutes les choses consacrées à la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι Γοθολια ἠ̃ν ἡ ἄνομος καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτη̃ς κατέσπασαν τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ θεου̃ καὶ γὰρ τὰ ἅγια οἴκου κυρίου ἐποίησαν ται̃ς Βααλιμ (Ⅲ)

- Athalia enim impiissima, et filii ejus, destruxerunt domum Dei, et de universis quæ sanctificata fuerant in templo Domini, ornaverunt fanum Baalim. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃24 כי עתליהו המרשעת בניה פרצו את בית האלהים וגם כל קדשי בית יהוה עשו לבעלים ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 8

And at the king's commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the LORD.

- Alors le roi ordonna qu'on fît un coffre, et qu'on le plaçât à la porte de la maison de l'Éternel, en dehors. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ βασιλεύς γενηθήτω γλωσσόκομον καὶ τεθήτω ἐν πύλη̨ οἴκου κυρίου ἔξω (Ⅲ)

- Præcepit ergo rex, et fecerunt arcam : posueruntque eam juxta portam domus Domini forinsecus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃24 ויאמר המלך ויעשו ארון אחד ויתנהו בשער בית יהוה חוצה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 9

And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the LORD the collection that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.

- Et l'on publia dans Juda et dans Jérusalem qu'on apportât à l'Éternel l'impôt mis par Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, sur Israël dans le désert. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κηρυξάτωσαν ἐν Ιουδα καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ εἰσενέγκαι κυρίω̨ καθὼς εἰ̃πεν Μωυση̃ς παι̃ς του̃ θεου̃ ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Et prædicatum est in Juda et Jerusalem ut deferrent singuli pretium Domino, quod constituit Moyses servus Dei super omnem Israël in deserto. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃24 ויתנו קול ביהודה ובירושלם להביא ליהוה משאת משה עבד האלהים על ישראל במדבר ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 10

And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.

- Tous les chefs et tout le peuple s'en réjouirent, et l'on apporta et jeta dans le coffre tout ce qu'on avait à payer. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔδωκαν πάντες ἄρχοντες καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς καὶ εἰσέφερον καὶ ἐνέβαλλον εἰς τὸ γλωσσόκομον ἕως οὑ̃ ἐπληρώθη (Ⅲ)

- Lætatique sunt cuncti principes, et omnis populus, et ingressi contulerunt in arcam Domini, atque miserunt ita ut impleretur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃24 וישמחו כל השרים וכל העם ויביאו וישליכו לארון עד לכלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 11

Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king's office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king's scribe and the high priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.

- Quand c'était le moment où les Lévites, voyant qu'il y avait beaucoup d'argent dans le coffre, devaient le livrer aux inspecteurs royaux, le secrétaire du roi et le commissaire du souverain sacrificateur venaient vider le coffre; ils le prenaient et le remettaient à sa place; ils faisaient ainsi journellement, et ils recueillirent de l'argent en abondance. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἰσέφερον τὸ γλωσσόκομον πρὸς τοὺς προστάτας του̃ βασιλέως διὰ χειρὸς τω̃ν Λευιτω̃ν καὶ ὡς εἰ̃δον ὅτι ἐπλεόνασεν τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ ἠ̃λθεν ὁ γραμματεὺς του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ὁ προστάτης του̃ ἱερέως του̃ μεγάλου καὶ ἐξεκένωσαν τὸ γλωσσόκομον καὶ κατέστησαν εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτου̃ οὕτως ἐποίουν ἡμέραν ἐξ ἡμέρας καὶ συνήγαγον ἀργύριον πολύ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque tempus esset ut deferrent arcam coram rege per manus Levitarum (videbant enim multam pecuniam), ingrediebatur scriba regis, et quem primus sacerdos constituerat, effundebantque pecuniam quæ erat in arca, porro arcam reportabant ad locum suum : sicque faciebant per singulos dies. Et congregata est infinita pecunia, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃24 ויהי בעת יביא את הארון אל פקדת המלך ביד הלוים וכראותם כי רב הכסף ובא סופר המלך ופקיד כהן הראש ויערו את הארון וישאהו וישיבהו אל מקמו כה עשו ליום ביום ויאספו כסף לרב ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 12

And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the LORD.

- Le roi et Jehojada le donnaient à ceux qui étaient chargés de faire exécuter l'ouvrage dans la maison de l'Éternel, et qui prenaient à gage des tailleurs de pierres et des charpentiers pour réparer la maison de l'Éternel, et aussi des ouvriers en fer ou en airain pour réparer la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸ ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ Ιωδαε ὁ ἱερεὺς τοι̃ς ποιου̃σιν τὰ ἔργα εἰς τὴν ἐργασίαν οἴκου κυρίου καὶ ἐμισθου̃ντο λατόμους καὶ τέκτονας ἐπισκευάσαι τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου καὶ χαλκει̃ς σιδήρου καὶ χαλκου̃ ἐπισκευάσαι τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- quam dederunt rex et Jojada his qui præerant operibus domus Domini : at illi conducebant ex ea cæsores lapidum, et artifices operum singulorum ut instaurarent domum Domini : fabros quoque ferri et æris, ut quod cadere cœperat, fulciretur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃24 ויתנהו המלך ויהוידע אל עושה מלאכת עבודת בית יהוה ויהיו שכרים חצבים וחרשים לחדש בית יהוה וגם לחרשי ברזל ונחשת לחזק את בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 13

So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.

- Ceux qui étaient chargés de l'ouvrage travaillèrent, et les réparations s'exécutèrent par leurs soins; ils remirent en état la maison de Dieu et la consolidèrent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίουν οἱ ποιου̃ντες τὰ ἔργα καὶ ἀνέβη μη̃κος τω̃ν ἔργων ἐν χερσὶν αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἀνέστησαν τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου ἐπὶ τὴν στάσιν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐνίσχυσαν (Ⅲ)

- Egeruntque hi qui operabantur industrie, et obducebatur parietum cicatrix per manus eorum, ac suscitaverunt domum Domini in statum pristinum, et firmiter eam stare fecerunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃24 ויעשו עשי המלאכה ותעל ארוכה למלאכה בידם ויעמידו את בית האלהים על מתכנתו ויאמצהו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 14

And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of the LORD, even vessels to minister, and to offer withal, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada.

- Lorsqu'ils eurent achevé, ils apportèrent devant le roi et devant Jehojada le reste de l'argent; et l'on en fit des ustensiles pour la maison de l'Éternel, des ustensiles pour le service et pour les holocaustes, des coupes, et d'autres ustensiles d'or et d'argent. Et, pendant toute la vie de Jehojada, on offrit continuellement des holocaustes dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὡς συνετέλεσαν ἤνεγκαν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ πρὸς Ιωδαε τὸ κατάλοιπον του̃ ἀργυρίου καὶ ἐποίησαν σκεύη εἰς οἰ̃κον κυρίου σκεύη λειτουργικὰ ὁλοκαυτωμάτων καὶ θυίσκας χρυσα̃ς καὶ ἀργυρα̃ς καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν ὁλοκαυτώσεις ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου διὰ παντὸς πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας Ιωδαε (Ⅲ)

- Cumque complessent omnia opera, detulerunt coram rege et Jojada reliquam partem pecuniæ : de qua facta sunt vasa templi in ministerium, et ad holocausta, phialæ quoque, et cetera vasa aurea et argentea : offerebantur holocausta in domo Domini jugiter cunctis diebus Jojadæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃24 וככלותם הביאו לפני המלך ויהוידע את שאר הכסף ויעשהו כלים לבית יהוה כלי שרת והעלות וכפות וכלי זהב וכסף ויהיו מעלים עלות בבית יהוה תמיד כל ימי יהוידע פ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 15

But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.

- Jehojada mourut, âgé et rassasié de jours; il avait à sa mort cent trente ans. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγήρασεν Ιωδαε πλήρης ἡμερω̃ν καὶ ἐτελεύτησεν ὢν ἑκατὸν καὶ τριάκοντα ἐτω̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ τελευτα̃ν αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Senuit autem Jojada plenus dierum, et mortuus est cum esset centum triginta annorum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃24 ויזקן יהוידע וישבע ימים וימת בן מאה ושלשים שנה במותו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 16

And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house.

- On l'enterra dans la ville de David avec les rois, parce qu'il avait fait du bien en Israël, et à l'égard de Dieu et à l'égard de sa maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ μετὰ τω̃ν βασιλέων ὅτι ἐποίησεν ἀγαθωσύνην μετὰ Ισραηλ καὶ μετὰ του̃ θεου̃ καὶ του̃ οἴκου αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- sepelieruntque eum in civitate David cum regibus, eo quod fecisset bonum cum Israël, et cum domo ejus.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃24 ויקברהו בעיר דויד עם המלכים כי עשה טובה בישראל ועם האלהים וביתו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 17

Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.

- Après la mort de Jehojada, les chefs de Juda vinrent se prosterner devant le roi. Alors le roi les écouta. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὴν τελευτὴν Ιωδαε εἰση̃λθον οἱ ἄρχοντες Ιουδα καὶ προσεκύνησαν τὸν βασιλέα τότε ἐπήκουσεν αὐτοι̃ς ὁ βασιλεύς (Ⅲ)

- Postquam autem obiit Jojada, ingressi sunt principes Juda, et adoraverunt regem : qui delinitus obsequiis eorum, acquievit eis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃24 ואחרי מות יהוידע באו שרי יהודה וישתחוו למלך אז שמע המלך אליהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 18

And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

- Et ils abandonnèrent la maison de l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères, et ils servirent les Astartés et les idoles. La colère de l'Éternel fut sur Juda et sur Jérusalem, parce qu'ils s'étaient ainsi rendus coupables. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγκατέλιπον τὸν κύριον θεὸν τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐδούλευον ται̃ς 'Αστάρταις καὶ τοι̃ς εἰδώλοις καὶ ἐγένετο ὀργὴ ἐπὶ Ιουδαν καὶ ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ταύτη̨ (Ⅲ)

- Et dereliquerunt templum Domini Dei patrum suorum, servieruntque lucis et sculptilibus : et facta est ira contra Judam et Jerusalem propter hoc peccatum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃24 ויעזבו את בית יהוה אלהי אבותיהם ויעבדו את האשרים ואת העצבים ויהי קצף על יהודה וירושלם באשמתם זאת ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 19

Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.

- L'Éternel envoya parmi eux des prophètes pour les ramener à lui, mais ils n'écoutèrent point les avertissements qu'ils en reçurent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς προφήτας ἐπιστρέψαι πρὸς κύριον καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν καὶ διεμαρτύραντο αὐτοι̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν (Ⅲ)

- Mittebatque eis prophetas ut reverterentur ad Dominum, quos protestantes illi audire nolebant. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃24 וישלח בהם נבאים להשיבם אל יהוה ויעידו בם ולא האזינו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 20

And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you.

- Zacharie, fils du sacrificateur Jehojada, fut revêtu de l'esprit de Dieu; il se présenta devant le peuple et lui dit: Ainsi parle Dieu: Pourquoi transgressez-vous les commandements de l'Éternel? Vous ne prospérerez point; car vous avez abandonné l'Éternel, et il vous abandonnera. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πνευ̃μα θεου̃ ἐνέδυσεν τὸν Αζαριαν τὸν του̃ Ιωδαε τὸν ἱερέα καὶ ἀνέστη ἐπάνω του̃ λαου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν τάδε λέγει κύριος τί παραπορεύεσθε τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου καὶ οὐκ εὐοδωθήσεσθε ὅτι ἐγκατελίπετε τὸν κύριον καὶ ἐγκαταλείψει ὑμα̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Spiritus itaque Dei induit Zachariam filium Jojadæ sacerdotem, et stetit in conspectu populi, et dixit eis : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Quare transgredimini præceptum Domini, quod vobis non proderit, et dereliquistis Dominum ut derelinqueret vos ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃24 ורוח אלהים לבשה את זכריה בן יהוידע הכהן ויעמד מעל לעם ויאמר להם כה אמר האלהים למה אתם עברים את מצות יהוה ולא תצליחו כי עזבתם את יהוה ויעזב אתכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 21

And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.

- Et ils conspirèrent contre lui, et le lapidèrent par ordre du roi, dans le parvis de la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέθεντο αὐτω̨̃ καὶ ἐλιθοβόλησαν αὐτὸν δι' ἐντολη̃ς Ιωας του̃ βασιλέως ἐν αὐλη̨̃ οἴκου κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Qui congregati adversus eum, miserunt lapides juxta regis imperium in atrio domus Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃24 ויקשרו עליו וירגמהו אבן במצות המלך בחצר בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 22

Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it.

- Le roi Joas ne se souvint pas de la bienveillance qu'avait eue pour lui Jehojada, père de Zacharie, et il fit périr son fils. Zacharie dit en mourant: Que l'Éternel voie, et qu'il fasse justice! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἐμνήσθη Ιωας του̃ ἐλέους οὑ̃ ἐποίησεν μετ' αὐτου̃ Ιωδαε ὁ πατὴρ αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ ὡς ἀπέθνη̨σκεν εἰ̃πεν ἴδοι κύριος καὶ κρινάτω (Ⅲ)

- Et non est recordatus Joas rex misericordiæ quam fecerat Jojada pater illius secum, sed interfecit filium ejus. Qui cum moreretur, ait : Videat Dominus, et requirat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃24 ולא זכר יואש המלך החסד אשר עשה יהוידע אביו עמו ויהרג את בנו וכמותו אמר ירא יהוה וידרש פ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 23

And it came to pass at the end of the year, that the host of Syria came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus.

- Quand l'année fut révolue, l'armée des Syriens monta contre Joas, et vint en Juda et à Jérusalem. Ils tuèrent parmi le peuple tous les chefs du peuple, et ils envoyèrent au roi de Damas tout leur butin. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὴν συντέλειαν του̃ ἐνιαυτου̃ ἀνέβη ἐπ' αὐτὸν δύναμις Συρίας καὶ ἠ̃λθεν ἐπὶ Ιουδαν καὶ ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ κατέφθειραν πάντας τοὺς ἄρχοντας του̃ λαου̃ ἐν τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκυ̃λα αὐτω̃ν ἀπέστειλαν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ Δαμασκου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque evolutus esset annus, ascendit contra eum exercitus Syriæ : venitque in Judam et Jerusalem, et interfecit cunctos principes populi, atque universam prædam miserunt regi in Damascum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃24 ויהי לתקופת השנה עלה עליו חיל ארם ויבאו אל יהודה וירושלם וישחיתו את כל שרי העם מעם וכל שללם שלחו למלך דרמשק ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 24

For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.

- L'armée des Syriens arriva avec un petit nombre d'hommes; et cependant l'Éternel livra entre leurs mains une armée très considérable, parce qu'ils avaient abandonné l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères. Et les Syriens firent justice de Joas. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἐν ὀλίγοις ἀνδράσιν παρεγένετο δύναμις Συρίας καὶ ὁ θεὸς παρέδωκεν εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτω̃ν δύναμιν πολλὴν σφόδρα ὅτι ἐγκατέλιπον κύριον θεὸν τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτω̃ν καὶ μετὰ Ιωας ἐποίησεν κρίματα (Ⅲ)

- Et certe cum permodicus venisset numerus Syrorum, tradidit Dominus in manibus eorum infinitam multitudinem, eo quod dereliquissent Dominum Deum patrum suorum : in Joas quoque ignominiosa exercuere judicia. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃24 כי במצער אנשים באו חיל ארם ויהוה נתן בידם חיל לרב מאד כי עזבו את יהוה אלהי אבותיהם ואת יואש עשו שפטים ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 25

And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings.

- Lorsqu'ils se furent éloignés de lui, après l'avoir laissé dans de grandes souffrances, ses serviteurs conspirèrent contre lui à cause du sang des fils du sacrificateur Jehojada; ils le tuèrent sur son lit, et il mourut. On l'enterra dans la ville de David, mais on ne l'enterra pas dans les sépulcres des rois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ μετὰ τὸ ἀπελθει̃ν αὐτοὺς ἀπ' αὐτου̃ ἐν τω̨̃ ἐγκαταλιπει̃ν αὐτὸν ἐν μαλακίαις μεγάλαις καὶ ἐπέθεντο αὐτω̨̃ οἱ παι̃δες αὐτου̃ ἐν αἵμασιν υἱου̃ Ιωδαε του̃ ἱερέως καὶ ἐθανάτωσαν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τη̃ς κλίνης αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπέθανεν καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ οὐκ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν τω̨̃ τάφω̨ τω̃ν βασιλέων (Ⅲ)

- Et abeuntes dimiserunt eum in languoribus magnis : surrexerunt autem contra eum servi sui in ultionem sanguinis filii Jojadæ sacerdotis, et occiderunt eum in lectulo suo, et mortuus est : sepelieruntque eum in civitate David, sed non in sepulchris regum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃24 ובלכתם ממנו כי עזבו אתו *במחליים **במחלוים רבים התקשרו עליו עבדיו בדמי בני יהוידע הכהן ויהרגהו על מטתו וימת ויקברהו בעיר דויד ולא קברהו בקברות המלכים ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 26

And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess.

- Voici ceux qui conspirèrent contre lui: Zabad, fils de Schimeath, femme Ammonite, et Jozabad, fils de Schimrith, femme Moabite. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ ἐπιθέμενοι ἐπ' αὐτὸν Ζαβεδ ὁ του̃ Σαμαθ ὁ Αμμανίτης καὶ Ιωζαβεδ ὁ του̃ Σομαρωθ ὁ Μωαβίτης (Ⅲ)

- Insidiati vero sunt ei Zabad filius Semaath Ammanitidis, et Jozabad filius Semmarith Moabitidis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃24 ואלה המתקשרים עליו זבד בן שמעת העמונית ויהוזבד בן שמרית המואבית ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 27

Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the repairing of the house of God, behold, they are written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.

- Pour ce qui concerne ses fils, le grand nombre de prophéties dont il fut l'objet, et les réparations faites à la maison de Dieu, cela est écrit dans les mémoires sur le livre des rois. Amatsia, son fils, régna à sa place. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτου̃ πάντες καὶ προση̃λθον αὐτω̨̃ οἱ πέντε καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ ἰδοὺ γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ τὴν γραφὴν τω̃ν βασιλέων καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Αμασιας υἱὸς αὐτου̃ ἀντ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Porro filii ejus, ac summa pecuniæ quæ adunata fuerat sub eo, et instauratio domus Dei, scripta sunt diligentius in libro regum : regnavit autem Amasias filius ejus pro eo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃24 ובניו *ורב **ירב המשא עליו ויסוד בית האלהים הנם כתובים על מדרש ספר המלכים וימלך אמציהו בנו תחתיו פ‬ (Ⅴ)
