25. 1

Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

- Amatsia devint roi à l'âge de vingt-cinq ans, et il régna vingt-neuf ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Joaddan, de Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- ὢν πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι ἐτω̃ν ἐβασίλευσεν Αμασιας καὶ εἴκοσι ἐννέα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τη̨̃ μητρὶ αὐτου̃ Ιωαδεν ἀπὸ Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- Viginti quinque annorum erat Amasias cum regnare cœpisset, et viginti novem annis regnavit in Jerusalem : nomen matris ejus Joadan de Jerusalem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃25 בן עשרים וחמש שנה מלך אמציהו ועשרים ותשע שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו יהועדן מירושלים ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 2

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart.

- Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, mais avec un coeur qui n'était pas entièrement dévoué. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἀλλ' οὐκ ἐν καρδία̨ πλήρει (Ⅲ)

- Fecitque bonum in conspectu Domini, verumtamen non in corde perfecto. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃25 ויעש הישר בעיני יהוה רק לא בלבב שלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 3

Now it came to pass, when the kingdom was established to him, that he slew his servants that had killed the king his father.

- Lorsque la royauté fut affermie entre ses mains, il fit périr ses serviteurs qui avaient tué le roi son père. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς κατέστη ἡ βασιλεία ἐν χειρὶ αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν τοὺς παι̃δας αὐτου̃ τοὺς φονεύσαντας τὸν βασιλέα πατέρα αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque roboratum sibi videret imperium, jugulavit servos qui occiderant regem patrem suum, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃25 ויהי כאשר חזקה הממלכה עליו ויהרג את עבדיו המכים את המלך אביו ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 4

But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.

- Mais il ne fit pas mourir leurs fils, car il agit selon ce qui est écrit dans la loi, dans le livre de Moïse, où l'Éternel donne ce commandement: On ne fera point mourir les pères pour les enfants, et l'on ne fera point mourir les enfants pour les pères; mais on fera mourir chacun pour son péché. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτω̃ν οὐκ ἀπέκτεινεν κατὰ τὴν διαθήκην του̃ νόμου κυρίου καθὼς γέγραπται ὡς ἐνετείλατο κύριος λέγων οὐκ ἀποθανου̃νται πατέρες ὑπὲρ τέκνων καὶ υἱοὶ οὐκ ἀποθανου̃νται ὑπὲρ πατέρων ἀλλ' ἢ ἕκαστος τη̨̃ ἑαυτου̃ ἁμαρτία̨ ἀποθανου̃νται (Ⅲ)

- sed filios eorum non interfecit, sicut scriptum est in libro legis Moysi, ubi præcepit Dominus, dicens : Non occidentur patres pro filiis, neque filii pro patribus suis, sed unusquisque in suo peccato morietur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃25 ואת בניהם לא המית כי ככתוב בתורה בספר משה אשר צוה יהוה לאמר לא ימותו אבות על בנים ובנים לא ימותו על אבות כי איש בחטאו ימותו פ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 5

Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and made them captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, according to the houses of their fathers, throughout all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and above, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, that could handle spear and shield.

- Amatsia rassembla les hommes de Juda et les plaça d'après les maisons paternelles, les chefs de milliers et les chef de centaines, pour tout Juda et Benjamin; il en fit le dénombrement depuis l'âge de vingt ans et au-dessus, et il trouva trois cent mille hommes d'élite, en état de porter les armes, maniant la lance et le bouclier. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνήγαγεν Αμασιας τὸν οἰ̃κον Ιουδα καὶ ἀνέστησεν αὐτοὺς κατ' οἴκους πατριω̃ν αὐτω̃ν εἰς χιλιάρχους καὶ ἑκατοντάρχους ἐν παντὶ Ιουδα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἠρίθμησεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ εἰκοσαετου̃ς καὶ ἐπάνω καὶ εὑ̃ρεν αὐτοὺς τριακοσίας χιλιάδας δυνατοὺς ἐξελθει̃ν εἰς πόλεμον κρατου̃ντας δόρυ καὶ θυρεόν (Ⅲ)

- Congregavit igitur Amasias Judam, et constituit eos per familias, tribunosque et centuriones in universo Juda et Benjamin : et recensuit a viginti annis supra, invenitque trecenta millia juvenum qui egrederentur ad pugnam, et tenerent hastam et clypeum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃25 ויקבץ אמציהו את יהודה ויעמידם לבית אבות לשרי האלפים ולשרי המאות לכל יהודה ובנימן ויפקדם למבן עשרים שנה ומעלה וימצאם שלש מאות אלף בחור יוצא צבא אחז רמח וצנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 6

He hired also an hundred thousand mighty men of valor out of Israel for an hundred talents of silver.

- Il prit encore à sa solde dans Israël cent mille vaillants hommes pour cent talents d'argent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐμισθώσατο ἀπὸ Ισραηλ ἑκατὸν χιλιάδας δυνατοὺς ἰσχύι ἑκατὸν ταλάντων ἀργυρίου (Ⅲ)

- mercede quoque conduxit de Israël centum millia robustorum, centum talentis argenti. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃25 וישכר מישראל מאה אלף גבור חיל במאה ככר כסף ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 7

But there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with thee; for the LORD is not with Israel, to wit, with all the children of Ephraim.

- Un homme de Dieu vint auprès de lui, et dit: O roi, qu'une armée d'Israël ne marche point avec toi, car l'Éternel n'est pas avec Israël, avec tous ces fils d'Éphraïm. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἄνθρωπος του̃ θεου̃ ἠ̃λθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγων βασιλευ̃ οὐ πορεύσεται μετὰ σου̃ δύναμις Ισραηλ ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν κύριος μετὰ Ισραηλ πάντων τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Εφραιμ (Ⅲ)

- Venit autem homo Dei ad illum, et ait : O rex, ne egrediatur tecum exercitus Israël : non est enim Dominus cum Israël, et cunctis filiis Ephraim : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃25 ואיש האלהים בא אליו לאמר המלך אל יבא עמך צבא ישראל כי אין יהוה עם ישראל כל בני אפרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 8

But if thou wilt go, do it; be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.

- Si tu vas avec eux, quand même tu ferais au combat des actes de vaillance, Dieu te fera tomber devant l'ennemi, car Dieu a le pouvoir d'aider et de faire tomber. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἐὰν ὑπολάβη̨ς κατισχυ̃σαι ἐν τούτοις καὶ τροπώσεταί σε κύριος ἐναντίον τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν ὅτι ἔστιν παρὰ κυρίου καὶ ἰσχυ̃σαι καὶ τροπώσασθαι (Ⅲ)

- quod si putas in robore exercitus bella consistere, superari te faciet Deus ab hostibus : Dei quippe est et adjuvare, et in fugam convertere. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃25 כי אם בא אתה עשה חזק למלחמה יכשילך האלהים לפני אויב כי יש כח באלהים לעזור ולהכשיל ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 9

And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.

- Amatsia dit à l'homme de Dieu: Et comment agir à l'égard des cents talents que j'ai donnés à la troupe d'Israël? L'homme de Dieu répondit: L'Éternel peut te donner bien plus que cela. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αμασιας τω̨̃ ἀνθρώπω̨ του̃ θεου̃ καὶ τί ποιήσω τὰ ἑκατὸν τάλαντα ἃ ἔδωκα τη̨̃ δυνάμει Ισραηλ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ ἄνθρωπος του̃ θεου̃ ἔστιν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ δου̃ναί σοι πλει̃στα τούτων (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque Amasias ad hominem Dei : Quid ergo fiet de centum talentis, quæ dedi militibus Israël ? Et respondit ei homo Dei : Habet Dominus unde tibi dare possit multo his plura. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃25 ויאמר אמציהו לאיש האלהים ומה לעשות למאת הככר אשר נתתי לגדוד ישראל ויאמר איש האלהים יש ליהוה לתת לך הרבה מזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 10

Then Amaziah separated them, to wit, the army that was come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again: wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in great anger.

- Alors Amatsia sépara la troupe qui lui était venue d'Éphraïm, afin que ces gens retournassent chez eux. Mais ils furent très irrités contre Juda, et ils s'en allèrent chez eux avec une ardente colère. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διεχώρισεν Αμασιας τη̨̃ δυνάμει τη̨̃ ἐλθούση̨ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἀπὸ Εφραιμ ἀπελθει̃ν εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐθυμώθησαν σφόδρα ἐπὶ Ιουδαν καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτω̃ν ἐν ὀργη̨̃ θυμου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Separavit itaque Amasias exercitum qui venerat ad eum ex Ephraim, ut reverteretur in locum suum : at illi contra Judam vehementer irati, reversi sunt in regionem suam.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃25 ויבדילם אמציהו להגדוד אשר בא אליו מאפרים ללכת למקומם ויחר אפם מאד ביהודה וישובו למקומם בחרי אף פ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 11

And Amaziah strengthened himself, and led forth his people, and went to the valley of salt, and smote of the children of Seir ten thousand.

- Amatsia prit courage, et conduisit son peuple. Il alla dans la vallée du sel, et il battit dix mille hommes des fils de Séir. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Αμασιας κατίσχυσεν καὶ παρέλαβεν τὸν λαὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς τὴν κοιλάδα τω̃ν ἁλω̃ν καὶ ἐπάταξεν ἐκει̃ τοὺς υἱοὺς Σηιρ δέκα χιλιάδας (Ⅲ)

- Porro Amasias confidenter eduxit populum suum, et abiit in vallem Salinarum, percussitque filios Seir decem millia : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃25 ואמציהו התחזק וינהג את עמו וילך גיא המלח ויך את בני שעיר עשרת אלפים ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 12

And other ten thousand left alive did the children of Judah carry away captive, and brought them unto the top of the rock, and cast them down from the top of the rock, that they all were broken in pieces.

- Et les fils de Juda en saisirent dix mille vivants, qu'ils menèrent au sommet d'un rocher, d'où ils les précipitèrent; et tous furent écrasés. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ δέκα χιλιάδας ἐζώγρησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ιουδα καὶ ἔφερον αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τὸ ἄκρον του̃ κρημνου̃ καὶ κατεκρήμνιζον αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ του̃ ἄκρου του̃ κρημνου̃ καὶ πάντες διερρήγνυντο (Ⅲ)

- et alia decem millia virorum ceperunt filii Juda, et adduxerunt ad præruptum cujusdam petræ, præcipitaveruntque eos de summo in præceps : qui universi crepuerunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃25 ועשרת אלפים חיים שבו בני יהודה ויביאום לראש הסלע וישליכום מראש הסלע וכלם נבקעו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 13

But the soldiers of the army which Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah, from Samaria even unto Bethhoron, and smote three thousand of them, and took much spoil.

- Cependant, les gens de la troupe qu'Amatsia avait renvoyés pour qu'ils n'allassent pas à la guerre avec lui firent une invasion dans les villes de Juda depuis Samarie jusqu'à Beth Horon, y tuèrent trois mille personnes, et enlevèrent de nombreuses dépouilles. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τη̃ς δυνάμεως οὓς ἀπέστρεψεν Αμασιας του̃ μὴ πορευθη̃ναι μετ' αὐτου̃ εἰς πόλεμον καὶ ἐπέθεντο ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα ἀπὸ Σαμαρείας ἕως Βαιθωρων καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς τρει̃ς χιλιάδας καὶ ἐσκύλευσαν σκυ̃λα πολλά (Ⅲ)

- At ille exercitus quem remiserat Amasias ne secum iret ad prælium, diffusus est in civitatibus Juda, a Samaria usque ad Bethoron, et interfectis tribus millibus, diripuit prædam magnam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃25 ובני הגדוד אשר השיב אמציהו מלכת עמו למלחמה ויפשטו בערי יהודה משמרון ועד בית חורון ויכו מהם שלשת אלפים ויבזו בזה רבה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 14

Now it came to pass, after that Amaziah was come from the slaughter of the Edomites, that he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them, and burned incense unto them.

- Lorsqu'Amatsia fut de retour après la défaite des Édomites, il fit venir les dieux des fils de Séir, et se les établit pour dieux; il se prosterna devant eux, et leur offrit des parfums. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὸ ἐλθει̃ν Αμασιαν πατάξαντα τὴν Ιδουμαίαν καὶ ἤνεγκεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς τοὺς θεοὺς υἱω̃ν Σηιρ καὶ ἔστησεν αὐτοὺς ἑαυτω̨̃ εἰς θεοὺς καὶ ἐναντίον αὐτω̃ν προσεκύνει καὶ αὐτοι̃ς αὐτὸς ἔθυεν (Ⅲ)

- Amasias vero post cædem Idumæorum, et allatos deos filiorum Seir, statuit illos in deos sibi, et adorabat eos, et illis adolebat incensum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃25 ויהי אחרי בוא אמציהו מהכות את אדומים ויבא את אלהי בני שעיר ויעמידם לו לאלהים ולפניהם ישתחוה ולהם יקטר ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 15

Wherefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand?

- Alors la colère de l'Éternel s'enflamma contre Amatsia, et il envoya vers lui un prophète, qui lui dit: Pourquoi as-tu recherché les dieux de ce peuple, quand ils n'ont pu délivrer leur peuple de ta main? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὀργὴ κυρίου ἐπὶ Αμασιαν καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτω̨̃ προφήτας καὶ εἰ̃παν αὐτω̨̃ τί ἐζήτησας τοὺς θεοὺς του̃ λαου̃ οἳ οὐκ ἐξείλαντο τὸν λαὸν αὐτω̃ν ἐκ χειρός σου (Ⅲ)

- Quam ob rem iratus Dominus contra Amasiam misit ad illum prophetam, qui diceret ei : Cur adorasti deos qui non liberaverunt populum suum de manu tua ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃25 ויחר אף יהוה באמציהו וישלח אליו נביא ויאמר לו למה דרשת את אלהי העם אשר לא הצילו את עמם מידך ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 16

And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the king's counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.

- Comme il parlait, Amatsia lui dit: Est-ce que nous t'avons fait conseiller du roi? Retire-toi! Pourquoi veux-tu qu'on te frappe? Le prophète se retira, en disant: Je sais que Dieu a résolu de te détruire, parce que tu as fait cela et que tu n'as pas écouté mon conseil. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ λαλη̃σαι αὐτω̨̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ μὴ σύμβουλον του̃ βασιλέως δέδωκά σε πρόσεχε μὴ μαστιγωθη̨̃ς καὶ ἐσιώπησεν ὁ προφήτης καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὅτι γινώσκω ὅτι ἐβούλετο ἐπὶ σοὶ του̃ καταφθει̃ραί σε ὅτι ἐποίησας του̃το καὶ οὐκ ἐπήκουσας τη̃ς συμβουλίας μου (Ⅲ)

- Cumque hæc ille loqueretur, respondit ei : Num consiliarius regis es ? quiesce, ne interficiam te. Discedensque propheta : Scio, inquit, quod cogitaverit Deus occidere te quia fecisti hoc malum, et insuper non acquievisti consilio meo.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃25 ויהי בדברו אליו ויאמר לו הליועץ למלך נתנוך חדל לך למה יכוך ויחדל הנביא ויאמר ידעתי כי יעץ אלהים להשחיתך כי עשית זאת ולא שמעת לעצתי פ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 17

Then Amaziah king of Judah took advice, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us see one another in the face.

- Après s'être consulté, Amatsia, roi de Juda, envoya dire à Joas, fils de Joachaz, fils de Jéhu, roi d'Israël: Viens, voyons-nous en face! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐβουλεύσατο Αμασιας καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς Ιωας υἱὸν Ιωαχαζ υἱου̃ Ιου βασιλέα Ισραηλ λέγων δευ̃ρο ὀφθω̃μεν προσώποις (Ⅲ)

- Igitur Amasias rex Juda inito pessimo consilio, misit ad Joas filium Joachaz filii Jehu regem Israël, dicens : Veni, videamus nos mutuo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃25 ויועץ אמציהו מלך יהודה וישלח אל יואש בן יהואחז בן יהוא מלך ישראל לאמר *לך **לכה נתראה פנים ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 18

And Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.

- Et Joas, roi d'Israël, fit dire à Amatsia, roi de Juda: L'épine du Liban envoya dire au cèdre du Liban: Donne ta fille pour femme à mon fils! Et les bêtes sauvages qui sont au Liban passèrent et foulèrent l'épine. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ιωας βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Αμασιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα λέγων ὁ αχουχ ὁ ἐν τω̨̃ Λιβάνω̨ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τὴν κέδρον τὴν ἐν τω̨̃ Λιβάνω̨ λέγων δὸς τὴν θυγατέρα σου τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ μου εἰς γυναι̃κα καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐλεύσεται τὰ θηρία του̃ ἀγρου̃ τὰ ἐν τω̨̃ Λιβάνω̨ καὶ ἠ̃λθαν τὰ θηρία καὶ κατεπάτησαν τὸν αχουχ (Ⅲ)

- At ille remisit nuntios, dicens : Carduus qui est in Libano misit ad cedrum Libani, dicens : Da filiam tuam filio meo uxorem : et ecce bestiæ quæ erant in silva Libani, transierunt, et conculcaverunt carduum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃25 וישלח יואש מלך ישראל אל אמציהו מלך יהודה לאמר החוח אשר בלבנון שלח אל הארז אשר בלבנון לאמר תנה את בתך לבני לאשה ותעבר חית השדה אשר בלבנון ותרמס את החוח ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 19

Thou sayest, Lo, thou hast smitten the Edomites; and thine heart lifteth thee up to boast: abide now at home; why shouldest thou meddle to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?

- Tu as battu les Édomites, penses-tu, et ton coeur s'élève pour te glorifier. Reste maintenant chez toi. Pourquoi t'engager dans une malheureuse entreprise, qui amènerait ta ruine et celle de Juda? (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃πας ἰδοὺ ἐπάταξας τὴν Ιδουμαίαν καὶ ἐπαίρει σε ἡ καρδία ἡ βαρει̃α νυ̃ν κάθησο ἐν οἴκω̨ σου καὶ ἵνα τί συμβάλλεις ἐν κακία̨ καὶ πεση̨̃ σὺ καὶ Ιουδας μετὰ σου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Dixisti : Percussi Edom, et idcirco erigitur cor tuum in superbiam : sede in domo tua : cur malum adversum te provocas, ut cadas et tu, et Juda tecum ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃25 אמרת הנה הכית את אדום ונשאך לבך להכביד עתה שבה בביתך למה תתגרה ברעה ונפלת אתה ויהודה עמך ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 20

But Amaziah would not hear; for it came of God, that he might deliver them into the hand of their enemies, because they sought after the gods of Edom.

- Mais Amatsia ne l'écouta pas, car Dieu avait résolu de les livrer entre les mains de l'ennemi, parce qu'ils avaient recherché les dieux d'Édom. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν Αμασιας ὅτι παρὰ κυρίου ἐγένετο του̃ παραδου̃ναι αὐτὸν εἰς χει̃ρας ὅτι ἐξεζήτησεν τοὺς θεοὺς τω̃ν Ιδουμαίων (Ⅲ)

- Noluit audire Amasias, eo quod Domini esset voluntas ut traderetur in manus hostium propter deos Edom. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃25 ולא שמע אמציהו כי מהאלהים היא למען תתם ביד כי דרשו את אלהי אדום ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 21

So Joash the king of Israel went up; and they saw one another in the face, both he and Amaziah king of Judah, at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.

- Et Joas, roi d'Israël, monta; et ils se virent en face, lui et Amatsia, roi de Juda, à Beth Schémesch, qui est à Juda. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέβη Ιωας βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ ὤφθησαν ἀλλήλοις αὐτὸς καὶ Αμασιας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα ἐν Βαιθσαμυς ἥ ἐστιν του̃ Ιουδα (Ⅲ)

- Ascendit igitur Joas rex Israël, et mutuos sibi præbuere conspectus : Amasias autem rex Juda erat in Bethsames Juda : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃25 ויעל יואש מלך ישראל ויתראו פנים הוא ואמציהו מלך יהודה בבית שמש אשר ליהודה ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 22

And Judah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fled every man to his tent.

- Juda fut battu par Israël, et chacun s'enfuit dans sa tente. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐτροπώθη Ιουδας κατὰ πρόσωπον Ισραηλ καὶ ἔφυγεν ἕκαστος εἰς τὸ σκήνωμα (Ⅲ)

- corruitque Juda coram Israël, et fugit in tabernacula sua. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃25 וינגף יהודה לפני ישראל וינסו איש לאהליו ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 23

And Joash the king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, at Bethshemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

- Joas, roi d'Israël, prit à Beth Schémesch Amatsia, roi de Juda, fils de Joas, fils de Joachaz. Il l'emmena à Jérusalem, et il fit une brèche de quatre cents coudées dans la muraille de Jérusalem, depuis la porte d'Éphraïm jusqu'à la porte de l'angle. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὸν Αμασιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα τὸν του̃ Ιωας κατέλαβεν Ιωας βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ ἐν Βαιθσαμυς καὶ εἰσήγαγεν αὐτὸν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ κατέσπασεν ἀπὸ του̃ τείχους Ιερουσαλημ ἀπὸ πύλης Εφραιμ ἕως πύλης γωνίας τετρακοσίους πήχεις (Ⅲ)

- Porro Amasiam regem Juda, filium Joas filii Joachaz, cepit Joas rex Israël in Bethsames, et adduxit in Jerusalem : destruxitque murum ejus a porta Ephraim usque ad portam anguli quadringentis cubitis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃25 ואת אמציהו מלך יהודה בן יואש בן יהואחז תפש יואש מלך ישראל בבית שמש ויביאהו ירושלם ויפרץ בחומת ירושלם משער אפרים עד שער הפונה ארבע מאות אמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 24

And he took all the gold and the silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of God with Obededom, and the treasures of the king's house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.

- Il prit tout l'or et l'argent et tous les vases qui se trouvaient dans la maison de Dieu, chez Obed Édom, et les trésors de la maison du roi; il prit aussi des otages, et il retourna à Samarie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πα̃ν τὸ χρυσίον καὶ τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ εὑρεθέντα ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου καὶ παρὰ τω̨̃ Αβδεδομ καὶ τοὺς θησαυροὺς οἴκου του̃ βασιλέως καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τω̃ν συμμίξεων καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν εἰς Σαμάρειαν (Ⅲ)

- Omne quoque aurum et argentum, et universa vasa quæ repererat in domo Dei, et apud Obededom in thesauris etiam domus regiæ, necnon et filios obsidum, reduxit in Samariam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃25 וכל הזהב והכסף ואת כל הכלים הנמצאים בבית האלהים עם עבד אדום ואת אצרות בית המלך ואת בני התערבות וישב שמרון פ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 25

And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.

- Amatsia, fils de Joas, roi de Juda, vécut quinze ans après la mort de Joas, fils de Joachaz, roi d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔζησεν Αμασιας ὁ του̃ Ιωας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανει̃ν Ιωας τὸν του̃ Ιωαχαζ βασιλέα Ισραηλ ἔτη δέκα πέντε (Ⅲ)

- Vixit autem Amasias filius Joas rex Juda, postquam mortuus est Joas filius Joachaz rex Israël, quindecim annis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃25 ויחי אמציהו בן יואש מלך יהודה אחרי מות יואש בן יהואחז מלך ישראל חמש עשרה שנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 26

Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, first and last, behold, are they not written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel?

- Le reste des actions d'Amatsia, les premières et les dernières, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des rois de Juda et d'Israël? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ λόγοι Αμασιου οἱ πρω̃τοι καὶ οἱ ἔσχατοι οὐκ ἰδοὺ γεγραμμένοι ἐπὶ βιβλίου βασιλέων Ιουδα καὶ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Reliqua autem sermonum Amasiæ priorum et novissimorum scripta sunt in libro regum Juda et Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃25 ויתר דברי אמציהו הראשנים והאחרונים הלא הנם כתובים על ספר מלכי יהודה וישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 27

Now after the time that Amaziah did turn away from following the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him, and slew him there.

- Depuis qu'Amatsia se fut détourné de l'Éternel, il se forma contre lui une conspiration à Jérusalem, et il s'enfuit à Lakis; mais on le poursuivit à Lakis, où on le fit mourir. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ ὡ̨̃ ἀπέστη Αμασιας ἀπὸ κυρίου καὶ ἐπέθεντο αὐτω̨̃ ἐπίθεσιν καὶ ἔφυγεν ἀπὸ Ιερουσαλημ εἰς Λαχις καὶ ἀπέστειλαν κατόπισθεν αὐτου̃ εἰς Λαχις καὶ ἐθανάτωσαν αὐτὸν ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Qui postquam recessit a Domino, tetenderunt ei insidias in Jerusalem. Cumque fugisset in Lachis, miserunt, et interfecerunt eum ibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃25 ומעת אשר סר אמציהו מאחרי יהוה ויקשרו עליו קשר בירושלם וינס לכישה וישלחו אחריו לכישה וימיתהו שם ‬ (Ⅴ)

25. 28

And they brought him upon horses, and buried him with his fathers in the city of Judah.

- On le transporta sur des chevaux, et on l'enterra avec ses pères dans la ville de Juda. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέλαβον αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τω̃ν ἵππων καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν μετὰ τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτου̃ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ (Ⅲ)

- Reportantesque super equos, sepelierunt eum cum patribus suis in civitate David. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃25 וישאהו על הסוסים ויקברו אתו עם אבתיו בעיר יהודה ‬ (Ⅴ)
