34. 1

Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years.

- Josias avait huit ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna trente et un ans à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- ὢν ὀκτὼ ἐτω̃ν Ιωσιας ἐν τω̨̃ βασιλευ̃σαι αὐτὸν καὶ τριάκοντα ἓν ἔτος ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- Octo annorum erat Josias cum regnare cœpisset, et triginta et uno anno regnavit in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃34 בן שמונה שנים יאשיהו במלכו ושלשים ואחת שנה מלך בירושלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 2

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.

- Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, et il marcha dans les voies de David, son père; il ne s'en détourna ni à droite ni à gauche. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν ὁδοι̃ς Δαυιδ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν δεξιὰ καὶ ἀριστερά (Ⅲ)

- Fecitque quod erat rectum in conspectu Domini, et ambulavit in viis David patris sui : non declinavit neque ad dextram, neque ad sinistram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃34 ויעש הישר בעיני יהוה וילך בדרכי דויד אביו ולא סר ימין ושמאול ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 3

For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.

- La huitième année de son règne, comme il était encore jeune, il commença à rechercher le Dieu de David, son père; et la douzième année, il commença à purifier Juda et Jérusalem des hauts lieux, des idoles, des images taillées et des images en fonte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ὀγδόω̨ ἔτει τη̃ς βασιλείας αὐτου̃ καὶ αὐτὸς ἔτι παιδάριον ἤρξατο του̃ ζητη̃σαι κύριον τὸν θεὸν Δαυιδ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ δωδεκάτω̨ ἔτει τη̃ς βασιλείας αὐτου̃ ἤρξατο του̃ καθαρίσαι τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τὴν Ιερουσαλημ ἀπὸ τω̃ν ὑψηλω̃ν καὶ τω̃ν ἄλσεων καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν χωνευτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Octavo autem anno regni sui, cum adhuc esset puer, cœpit quærere Deum patris sui David : et duodecimo anno postquam regnare cœperat, mundavit Judam et Jerusalem ab excelsis, et lucis, simulacrisque et sculptilibus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃34 ובשמונה שנים למלכו והוא עודנו נער החל לדרוש לאלהי דויד אביו ובשתים עשרה שנה החל לטהר את יהודה וירושלם מן הבמות והאשרים והפסלים והמסכות ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 4

And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strewed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.

- On renversa devant lui les autels des Baals, et il abattit les statues consacrées au soleil qui étaient dessus; il brisa les idoles, les images taillées et les images en fonte, et les réduisit en poussière, et il répandit la poussière sur les sépulcres de ceux qui leur avaient sacrifié; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέσπασεν κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ τὰ θυσιαστήρια τω̃ν Βααλιμ καὶ τὰ ὑψηλὰ τὰ ἐπ' αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἔκοψεν τὰ ἄλση καὶ τὰ γλυπτὰ καὶ τὰ χωνευτὰ συνέτριψεν καὶ ἐλέπτυνεν καὶ ἔρριψεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τω̃ν μνημάτων τω̃ν θυσιαζόντων αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Destruxeruntque coram eo aras Baalim, et simulacra quæ superposita fuerant, demoliti sunt : lucos etiam et sculptilia succidit atque comminuit, et super tumulos eorum qui eis immolare consueverant, fragmenta dispersit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃34 וינתצו לפניו את מזבחות הבעלים והחמנים אשר למעלה מעליהם גדע והאשרים והפסלים והמסכות שבר והדק ויזרק על פני הקברים הזבחים להם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 5

And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.

- et il brûla les ossements des prêtres sur leurs autels. C'est ainsi qu'il purifia Juda et Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὀστα̃ ἱερέων κατέκαυσεν ἐπὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια καὶ ἐκαθάρισεν τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τὴν Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- Ossa præterea sacerdotum combussit in altaribus idolorum, mundavitque Judam et Jerusalem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃34 ועצמות כהנים שרף על *מזבחותים **מזבחותם ויטהר את יהודה ואת ירושלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 6

And so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their mattocks round about.

- Dans les villes de Manassé, d'Éphraïm, de Siméon, et même de Nephthali, partout au milieu de leurs ruines, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν πόλεσιν Εφραιμ καὶ Μανασση καὶ Συμεων καὶ Νεφθαλι καὶ τοι̃ς τόποις αὐτω̃ν κύκλω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Sed et in urbibus Manasse, et Ephraim, et Simeon, usque Nephthali, cuncta subvertit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃34 ובערי מנשה ואפרים ושמעון ועד נפתלי *בהר *בתיהם **בחרבתיהם סביב ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 7

And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.

- il renversa les autels, il mit en pièces les idoles et les images taillées et les réduisit en poussière, et il abattit toutes les statues consacrées au soleil dans tout le pays d'Israël. Puis il retourna à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέσπασεν τὰ ἄλση καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια καὶ τὰ εἴδωλα κατέκοψεν λεπτὰ καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑψηλὰ ἔκοψεν ἀπὸ πάσης τη̃ς γη̃ς Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque altaria dissipasset, et lucos et sculptilia contrivisset in frustra, cunctaque delubra demolitus esset de universa terra Israël, reversus est in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃34 וינתץ את המזבחות ואת האשרים והפסלים כתת להדק וכל החמנים גדע בכל ארץ ישראל וישב לירושלם ס‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 8

Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the LORD his God.

- La dix-huitième année de son règne, après qu'il eut purifié le pays et la maison, il envoya Schaphan, fils d'Atsalia, Maaséja, chef de la ville, et Joach, fils de Joachaz, l'archiviste, pour réparer la maison de l'Éternel, son Dieu. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ὀκτωκαιδεκάτω̨ ἔτει τη̃ς βασιλείας αὐτου̃ του̃ καθαρίσαι τὴν γη̃ν καὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον ἀπέστειλεν τὸν Σαφαν υἱὸν Εσελια καὶ τὸν Μαασιαν ἄρχοντα τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ τὸν Ιουαχ υἱὸν Ιωαχαζ τὸν ὑπομνηματογράφον αὐτου̃ κραταιω̃σαι τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Igitur anno octavodecimo regni sui, mundata jam terra et templo Domini, misit Saphan filium Eseliæ, et Maasiam principem civitatis, et Joha filium Joachaz a commentariis, ut instaurarent domum Domini Dei sui. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃34 ובשנת שמונה עשרה למלכו לטהר הארץ והבית שלח את שפן בן אצליהו ואת מעשיהו שר העיר ואת יואח בן יואחז המזכיר לחזק את בית יהוה אלהיו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 9

And when they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to Jerusalem.

- Ils se rendirent auprès du souverain sacrificateur Hilkija, et on livra l'argent qui avait été apporté dans la maison de Dieu, et que les Lévites gardiens du seuil avaient recueilli de Manassé et d'Éphraïm et de tout le reste d'Israël, et de tout Juda et Benjamin et des habitants de Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθον πρὸς Χελκιαν τὸν ἱερέα τὸν μέγαν καὶ ἔδωκαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εἰσενεχθὲν εἰς οἰ̃κον θεου̃ ὃ συνήγαγον οἱ Λευι̃ται φυλάσσοντες τὴν πύλην ἐκ χειρὸς Μανασση καὶ Εφραιμ καὶ τω̃ν ἀρχόντων καὶ ἀπὸ παντὸς καταλοίπου ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ υἱω̃ν Ιουδα καὶ Βενιαμιν καὶ οἰκούντων ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- Qui venerunt ad Helciam sacerdotem magnum : acceptamque ab eo pecuniam quæ illata fuerat in domum Domini, et quam congregaverant Levitæ, et janitores de Manasse, et Ephraim, et universis reliquiis Israël, ab omni quoque Juda, et Benjamin, et habitatoribus Jerusalem, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃34 ויבאו אל חלקיהו הכהן הגדול ויתנו את הכסף המובא בית אלהים אשר אספו הלוים שמרי הסף מיד מנשה ואפרים ומכל שארית ישראל ומכל יהודה ובנימן *וישבי **וישבו ירושלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 10

And they put it in the hand of the workmen that had the oversight of the house of the LORD, and they gave it to the workmen that wrought in the house of the LORD, to repair and amend the house:

- On le remit entre les mains de ceux qui étaient chargés de faire exécuter l'ouvrage dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et ils l'employèrent pour ceux qui travaillaient aux réparations de la maison de l'Éternel, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸ ἐπὶ χει̃ρα ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα οἱ καθεσταμένοι ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸ ποιου̃σι τὰ ἔργα οἳ ἐποίουν ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου ἐπισκευάσαι κατισχυ̃σαι τὸν οἰ̃κον (Ⅲ)

- tradiderunt in manibus eorum qui præerant operariis in domo Domini, ut instaurarent templum, et infirma quæque sarcirent. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃34 ויתנו על יד עשה המלאכה המפקדים בבית יהוה ויתנו אתו עושי המלאכה אשר עשים בבית יהוה לבדוק ולחזק הבית ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 11

Even to the artificers and builders gave they it, to buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings, and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.

- pour les charpentiers et les maçons, pour les achats de pierres de taille et de bois destiné aux poutres et à la charpente des bâtiments qu'avaient détruits les rois de Juda. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔδωκαν τοι̃ς τέκτοσι καὶ τοι̃ς οἰκοδόμοις ἀγοράσαι λίθους τετραπέδους καὶ ξύλα εἰς δοκοὺς στεγάσαι τοὺς οἴκους οὓς ἐξωλέθρευσαν βασιλει̃ς Ιουδα (Ⅲ)

- At illi dederunt eam artificibus et cæmentariis, ut emerent lapides de lapicidinis, et ligna ad commissuras ædificii, et ad contignationem domorum quas destruxerant reges Juda. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃34 ויתנו לחרשים ולבנים לקנות אבני מחצב ועצים למחברות ולקרות את הבתים אשר השחיתו מלכי יהודה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 12

And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and other of the Levites, all that could skill of instruments of music.

- Ces hommes agirent avec probité dans leur travail. Ils étaient placés sous l'inspection de Jachath et Abdias, Lévites d'entre les fils de Merari, et de Zacharie et Meschullam, d'entre les fils des Kehathites; tous ceux des Lévites qui étaient habiles musiciens surveillaient les manoeuvres (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες ἐν πίστει ἐπὶ τω̃ν ἔργων καὶ ἐπ' αὐτω̃ν ἐπίσκοποι Ιεθ καὶ Αβδιας οἱ Λευι̃ται ἐξ υἱω̃ν Μεραρι καὶ Ζαχαριας καὶ Μοσολλαμ ἐκ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Κααθ ἐπισκοπει̃ν καὶ πα̃ς Λευίτης πα̃ς συνίων ἐν ὀργάνοις ὠ̨δω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Qui fideliter cuncta faciebant. Erant autem præpositi operantium Jahath et Abdias de filiis Merari, Zacharias et Mosollam de filiis Caath, qui urgebant opus : omnes Levitæ scientes organis canere. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃34 והאנשים עשים באמונה במלאכה ועליהם מפקדים יחת ועבדיהו הלוים מן בני מררי וזכריה ומשלם מן בני הקהתים לנצח והלוים כל מבין בכלי שיר ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 13

Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and were overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters.

- et dirigeaient tous les ouvriers occupés aux divers travaux; il y avait encore d'autres Lévites secrétaires, commissaires et portiers. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπὶ τω̃ν νωτοφόρων καὶ ἐπὶ πάντων τω̃ν ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα ἐργασία̨ καὶ ἐργασία̨ καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν Λευιτω̃ν γραμματει̃ς καὶ κριταὶ καὶ πυλωροί (Ⅲ)

- Super eos vero qui ad diversos usus onera portabant, erant scribæ, et magistri de Levitis, janitores.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃34 ועל הסבלים ומנצחים לכל עשה מלאכה לעבודה ועבודה ומהלוים סופרים ושטרים ושוערים ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 14

And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the LORD given by Moses.

- Au moment où l'on sortit l'argent qui avait été apporté dans la maison de l'Éternel, le sacrificateur Hilkija trouva le livre de la loi de l'Éternel donnée par Moïse. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ἐκφέρειν αὐτοὺς τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εἰσοδιασθὲν εἰς οἰ̃κον κυρίου εὑ̃ρεν Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεὺς βιβλίον νόμου κυρίου διὰ χειρὸς Μωυση̃ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque efferrent pecuniam quæ illata fuerat in templum Domini, reperit Helcias sacerdos librum legis Domini per manum Moysi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃34 ובהוציאם את הכסף המובא בית יהוה מצא חלקיהו הכהן את ספר תורת יהוה ביד משה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 15

And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.

- Alors Hilkija prit la parole et dit à Schaphan, le secrétaire: J'ai trouvé le livre de la loi dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et Hilkija donna le livre à Schaphan. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Χελκιας καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς Σαφαν τὸν γραμματέα βιβλίον νόμου εὑ̃ρον ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκεν Χελκιας τὸ βιβλίον τω̨̃ Σαφαν (Ⅲ)

- Et ait ad Saphan scribam : Librum legis inveni in domo Domini : et tradidit ei. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃34 ויען חלקיהו ויאמר אל שפן הסופר ספר התורה מצאתי בבית יהוה ויתן חלקיהו את הספר אל שפן ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 16

And Shaphan carried the book to the king, and brought the king word back again, saying, All that was committed to thy servants, they do it.

- Schaphan apporta le livre au roi, et lui rendit aussi compte, en disant: Tes serviteurs ont fait tout ce qui leur a été commandé; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν Σαφαν τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ἀπέδωκεν ἔτι τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ λόγον πα̃ν τὸ δοθὲν ἀργύριον ἐν χειρὶ τω̃ν παίδων σου τω̃ν ποιούντων τὸ ἔργον (Ⅲ)

- At ille intulit volumen ad regem, et nuntiavit ei, dicens : Omnia quæ dedisti in manu servorum tuorum, ecce complentur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃34 ויבא שפן את הספר אל המלך וישב עוד את המלך דבר לאמר כל אשר נתן ביד עבדיך הם עשים ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 17

And they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the LORD, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and to the hand of the workmen.

- ils ont amassé l'argent qui se trouvait dans la maison de l'Éternel, et l'ont remis entre les mains des inspecteurs et des ouvriers. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐχώνευσαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκαν ἐπὶ χει̃ρα τω̃ν ἐπισκόπων καὶ ἐπὶ χει̃ρα τω̃ν ποιούντων ἐργασίαν (Ⅲ)

- Argentum quod repertum est in domo Domini, conflaverunt, datumque est præfectis artificum, et diversa opera fabricantium. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃34 ויתיכו את הכסף הנמצא בבית יהוה ויתנוהו על יד המפקדים ועל יד עושי המלאכה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 18

Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

- Schaphan, le secrétaire, dit encore au roi: Le sacrificateur Hilkija m'a donné un livre. Et Schaphan le lut devant le roi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν Σαφαν ὁ γραμματεὺς τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ λέγων βιβλίον ἔδωκέν μοι Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεύς καὶ ἀνέγνω αὐτὸ Σαφαν ἐναντίον του̃ βασιλέως (Ⅲ)

- Præterea tradidit mihi Helcias sacerdos hunc librum. Quem cum rege præsente recitasset, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃34 ויגד שפן הסופר למלך לאמר ספר נתן לי חלקיהו הכהן ויקרא בו שפן לפני המלך ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 19

And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes.

- Lorsque le roi entendit les paroles de la loi, il déchira ses vêtements. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τοὺς λόγους του̃ νόμου καὶ διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- audissetque ille verba legis, scidit vestimenta sua : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃34 ויהי כשמע המלך את דברי התורה ויקרע את בגדיו ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 20

And the king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king's, saying,

- Et le roi donna cet ordre à Hilkija, à Achikam, fils de Schaphan, à Abdon, fils de Michée, à Schaphan, le secrétaire, et à Asaja, serviteur du roi: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς τω̨̃ Χελκια καὶ τω̨̃ Αχικαμ υἱω̨̃ Σαφαν καὶ τω̨̃ Αβδων υἱω̨̃ Μιχαια καὶ τω̨̃ Σαφαν τω̨̃ γραμματει̃ καὶ τω̨̃ Ασαια παιδὶ του̃ βασιλέως λέγων (Ⅲ)

- et præcepit Helciæ, et Ahicam filio Saphan, et Abdon filio Micha, Saphan quoque scribæ, et Asaæ servo regis, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃34 ויצו המלך את חלקיהו ואת אחיקם בן שפן ואת עבדון בן מיכה ואת שפן הסופר ואת עשיה עבד המלך לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 21

Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.

- Allez, consultez l'Éternel pour moi et pour ce qui reste en Israël et en Juda, au sujet des paroles de ce livre qu'on a trouvé; car grande est la colère de l'Éternel qui s'est répandue sur nous, parce que nos pères n'ont point observé la parole de l'Éternel et n'ont point mis en pratique tout ce qui est écrit dans ce livre. (Ⅱ)

- πορεύθητε ζητήσατε τὸν κύριον περὶ ἐμου̃ καὶ περὶ παντὸς του̃ καταλειφθέντος ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα περὶ τω̃ν λόγων του̃ βιβλίου του̃ εὑρεθέντος ὅτι μέγας ὁ θυμὸς κυρίου ἐκκέκαυται ἐν ἡμι̃ν διότι οὐκ εἰσήκουσαν οἱ πατέρες ἡμω̃ν τω̃ν λόγων κυρίου του̃ ποιη̃σαι κατὰ πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐν τω̨̃ βιβλίω̨ τούτω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Ite, et orate Dominum pro me, et pro reliquiis Israël et Juda, super universis sermonibus libri istius, qui repertus est : magnus enim furor Domini stillavit super nos, eo quod non custodierint patres nostri verba Domini ut facerent omnia quæ scripta sunt in isto volumine. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃34 לכו דרשו את יהוה בעדי ובעד הנשאר בישראל וביהודה על דברי הספר אשר נמצא כי גדולה חמת יהוה אשר נתכה בנו על אשר לא שמרו אבותינו את דבר יהוה לעשות ככל הכתוב על הספר הזה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 22

And Hilkiah, and they that the king had appointed, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college:) and they spake to her to that effect.

- Hilkija et ceux qu'avait désignés le roi allèrent auprès de la prophétesse Hulda, femme de Schallum, fils de Thokehath, fils de Hasra, gardien des vêtements. Elle habitait à Jérusalem, dans l'autre quartier de la ville. Après qu'ils eurent exprimé ce qu'ils avaient à lui dire, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύθη Χελκιας καὶ οἱ̃ς εἰ̃πεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Ολδαν τὴν προφη̃τιν γυναι̃κα Σελλημ υἱου̃ Θακουαθ υἱου̃ Χελλης φυλάσσουσαν τὰς στολάς καὶ αὕτη κατώ̨κει ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν μασανα καὶ ἐλάλησαν αὐτη̨̃ κατὰ ταυ̃τα (Ⅲ)

- Abiit ergo Helcias, et hi qui simul a rege missi fuerant, ad Oldam prophetidem, uxorem Sellum filii Thecuath filii Hasra custodis vestium, quæ habitabat in Jerusalem in Secunda : et locuti sunt ei verba quæ supra narravimus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃34 וילך חלקיהו ואשר המלך אל חלדה הנביאה אשת שלם בן *תוקהת **תקהת בן חסרה שומר הבגדים והיא יושבת בירושלם במשנה וידברו אליה כזאת ס‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 23

And she answered them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me,

- elle leur répondit: Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Dites à l'homme qui vous a envoyés vers moi: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς οὕτως εἰ̃πεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ εἴπατε τω̨̃ ἀνδρὶ τω̨̃ ἀποστείλαντι ὑμα̃ς πρός με (Ⅲ)

- At illa respondit eis : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Dicite viro qui misit vos ad me : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃34 ותאמר להם כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אמרו לאיש אשר שלח אתכם אלי ס‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 24

Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:

- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, je vais faire venir des malheurs sur ce lieu et sur ses habitants, toutes les malédictions écrites dans le livre qu'on a lu devant le roi de Juda. (Ⅱ)

- οὕτως λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω κακὰ ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον του̃τον τοὺς πάντας λόγους τοὺς γεγραμμένους ἐν τω̨̃ βιβλίω̨ τω̨̃ ἀνεγνωσμένω̨ ἐναντίον του̃ βασιλέως Ιουδα (Ⅲ)

- Hæc dicit Dominus : Ecce ego inducam mala super locum istum et super habitatores ejus, cunctaque maledicta quæ scripta sunt in libro hoc, quem legerunt coram rege Juda. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃34 כה אמר יהוה הנני מביא רעה על המקום הזה ועל יושביו את כל האלות הכתובות על הספר אשר קראו לפני מלך יהודה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 25

Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched.

- Parce qu'ils m'ont abandonné et qu'ils ont offert des parfums à d'autres dieux, afin de m'irriter par tous les ouvrages de leurs mains, ma colère s'est répandue sur ce lieu, et elle ne s'éteindra point. (Ⅱ)

- ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν ἐγκατέλιπόν με καὶ ἐθυμίασαν θεοι̃ς ἀλλοτρίοις ἵνα παροργίσωσίν με ἐν πα̃σιν τοι̃ς ἔργοις τω̃ν χειρω̃ν αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐξεκαύθη ὁ θυμός μου ἐν τω̨̃ τόπω̨ τούτω̨ καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται (Ⅲ)

- Quia dereliquerunt me, et sacrificaverunt diis alienis, ut me ad iracundiam provocarent in cunctis operibus manuum suarum, idcirco stillabit furor meus super locum istum, et non extinguetur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃34 תחת אשר עזבוני *ויקטירו **ויקטרו‪[y]‬ לאלהים אחרים למען הכעיסני בכל מעשי ידיהם ותתך חמתי במקום הזה ולא תכבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 26

And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the LORD, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard;

- Mais vous direz au roi de Juda qui vous a envoyés pour consulter l'Éternel: Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, au sujet des paroles que tu as entendues: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπὶ βασιλέα Ιουδα τὸν ἀποστείλαντα ὑμα̃ς του̃ ζητη̃σαι τὸν κύριον οὕτως ἐρει̃τε αὐτω̨̃ οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἤκουσας (Ⅲ)

- Ad regem autem Juda, qui misit vos pro Domino deprecando, sic loquimini : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Quoniam audisti verba voluminis, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃34 ואל מלך יהודה השלח אתכם לדרוש ביהוה כה תאמרו אליו סכה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל הדברים אשר שמעת ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 27

Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD.

- Parce que ton coeur a été touché, parce que tu t'es humilié devant Dieu en entendant ses paroles contre ce lieu et contre ses habitants, parce que tu t'es humilié devant moi, parce que tu as déchiré tes vêtements et que tu as pleuré devant moi, moi aussi, j'ai entendu, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνετράπη ἡ καρδία σου καὶ ἐταπεινώθης ἀπὸ προσώπου μου ἐν τω̨̃ ἀκου̃σαί σε τοὺς λόγους μου ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον του̃τον καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας αὐτὸν καὶ ἐταπεινώθης ἐναντίον μου καὶ διέρρηξας τὰ ἱμάτιά σου καὶ ἔκλαυσας κατεναντίον μου καὶ ἐγὼ ἤκουσά φησιν κύριος (Ⅲ)

- atque emollitum est cor tuum, et humiliatus es in conspectu Dei super his quæ dicta sunt contra locum hunc et habitatores Jerusalem, reveritusque faciem meam scidisti vestimenta tua, et flevisti coram me : ego quoque exaudivi te, dicit Dominus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃34 יען רך לבבך ותכנע מלפני אלהים בשמעך את דבריו על המקום הזה ועל ישביו ותכנע לפני ותקרע את בגדיך ותבך לפני וגם אני שמעתי נאם יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 28

Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.

- Voici, je te recueillerai auprès de tes pères, tu seras recueilli en paix dans ton sépulcre, et tes yeux ne verront pas tous les malheurs que je ferai venir sur ce lieu et sur ses habitants. Ils rapportèrent au roi cette réponse. (Ⅱ)

- ἰδοὺ προστίθημί σε πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας σου καὶ προστεθήση̨ πρὸς τὰ μνήματά σου ἐν εἰρήνη̨ καὶ οὐκ ὄψονται οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου ἐν πα̃σιν τοι̃ς κακοι̃ς οἱ̃ς ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον του̃τον καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας αὐτόν καὶ ἀπέδωκαν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ λόγον (Ⅲ)

- Jam enim colligam te ad patres tuos, et infereris in sepulchrum tuum in pace : nec videbunt oculi tui omne malum quod ego inducturus sum super locum istum, et super habitatores ejus. Retulerunt itaque regi cuncta quæ dixerat.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃34 הנני אספך אל אבתיך ונאספת אל קברתיך בשלום ולא תראינה עיניך בכל הרעה אשר אני מביא על המקום הזה ועל ישביו וישיבו את המלך דבר פ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 29

Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.

- Le roi fit assembler tous les anciens de Juda et de Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ συνήγαγεν τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους Ιουδα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- At ille convocatis universis majoribus natu Juda et Jerusalem, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃34 וישלח המלך ויאסף את כל זקני יהודה וירושלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 30

And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD.

- Puis il monta à la maison de l'Éternel avec tous les hommes de Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem, les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, et tout le peuple, depuis le plus grand jusqu'au plus petit. Il lut devant eux toutes les paroles du livre de l'alliance, qu'on avait trouvé dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς οἰ̃κον κυρίου καὶ πα̃ς Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Ιερουσαλημ καὶ οἱ ἱερει̃ς καὶ οἱ Λευι̃ται καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς ἀπὸ μεγάλου ἕως μικρου̃ καὶ ἀνέγνω ἐν ὠσὶν αὐτω̃ν τοὺς πάντας λόγους βιβλίου τη̃ς διαθήκης του̃ εὑρεθέντος ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- ascendit in domum Domini, unaque omnes viri Juda et habitatores Jerusalem, sacerdotes et Levitæ, et cunctus populus a minimo usque ad maximum. Quibus audientibus in domo Domini, legit rex omnia verba voluminis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃34 ויעל המלך בית יהוה וכל איש יהודה וישבי ירושלם והכהנים והלוים וכל העם מגדול ועד קטן ויקרא באזניהם את כל דברי ספר הברית הנמצא בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 31

And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book.

- Le roi se tenait sur son estrade, et il traita alliance devant l'Éternel, s'engageant à suivre l'Éternel, et à observer ses ordonnances, ses préceptes et ses lois, de tout son coeur et de toute son âme, afin de mettre en pratique les paroles de l'alliance écrites dans ce livre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔστη ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐπὶ τὸν στυ̃λον καὶ διέθετο διαθήκην ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ πορευθη̃ναι ἐνώπιον κυρίου του̃ φυλάσσειν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτου̃ καὶ μαρτύρια αὐτου̃ καὶ προστάγματα αὐτου̃ ἐν ὅλη̨ καρδία̨ καὶ ἐν ὅλη̨ ψυχη̨̃ τοὺς λόγους τη̃ς διαθήκης τοὺς γεγραμμένους ἐπὶ τω̨̃ βιβλίω̨ τούτω̨ (Ⅲ)

- et stans in tribunali suo, percussit fœdus coram Domino ut ambularet post eum, et custodiret præcepta, et testimonia, et justificationes ejus in toto corde suo, et in tota anima sua, faceretque quæ scripta sunt in volumine illo, quod legerat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃34 ויעמד המלך על עמדו ויכרת את הברית לפני יהוה ללכת אחרי יהוה ולשמור את מצותיו ועדותיו וחקיו בכל לבבו ובכל נפשו לעשות את דברי הברית הכתובים על הספר הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 32

And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.

- Et il fit entrer dans l'alliance tous ceux qui se trouvaient à Jérusalem et en Benjamin; et les habitants de Jérusalem agirent selon l'alliance de Dieu, du Dieu de leurs pères. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔστησεν πάντας τοὺς εὑρεθέντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ Βενιαμιν καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Ιερουσαλημ διαθήκην ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου θεου̃ πατέρων αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Adjuravit quoque super hoc omnes qui reperti fuerant in Jerusalem et Benjamin : et fecerunt habitatores Jerusalem juxta pactum Domini Dei patrum suorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃34 ויעמד את כל הנמצא בירושלם ובנימן ויעשו ישבי ירושלם כברית אלהים אלהי אבותיהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

34. 33

And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, even to serve the LORD their God. And all his days they departed not from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.

- Josias fit disparaître toutes les abominations de tous les pays appartenant aux enfants d'Israël, et il obligea tous ceux qui se trouvaient en Israël à servir l'Éternel, leur Dieu. Pendant toute sa vie, ils ne se détournèrent point de l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ περιει̃λεν Ιωσιας τὰ πάντα βδελύγματα ἐκ πάσης τη̃ς γη̃ς ἣ ἠ̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐποίησεν πάντας τοὺς εὑρεθέντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐν Ισραηλ του̃ δουλεύειν κυρίω̨ θεω̨̃ αὐτω̃ν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας αὐτου̃ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν κυρίου θεου̃ πατέρων αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Abstulit ergo Josias cunctas abominationes de universis regionibus filiorum Israël : et fecit omnes qui residui erant in Israël, servire Domino Deo suo. Cunctis diebus ejus non recesserunt a Domino Deo patrum suorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃34 ויסר יאשיהו את כל התועבות מכל הארצות אשר לבני ישראל ויעבד את כל הנמצא בישראל לעבוד את יהוה אלהיהם כל ימיו לא סרו מאחרי יהוה אלהי אבותיהם פ‬ (Ⅴ)
