And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.
- Le septième mois arriva, et les enfants d'Israël étaient dans leurs villes. Alors le peuple s'assembla comme un seul homme à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - Jamque venerat mensis septimus, et erant filii Israël in civitatibus suis : congregatus est ergo populus quasi vir unus in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃3 ויגע החדש השביעי ובני ישראל בערים סויאספו העם כאיש אחד אל ירושלם ס (Ⅴ)

Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
- Josué, fils de Jotsadak, avec ses frères les sacrificateurs, et Zorobabel, fils de Schealthiel, avec ses frères, se levèrent et bâtirent l'autel du Dieu d'Israël, pour y offrir des holocaustes, selon ce qui est écrit dans la loi de Moïse, homme de Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Et surrexit Josue filius Josedec, et fratres ejus sacerdotes, et Zorobabel filius Salathiel, et fratres ejus, et ædificaverunt altare Dei Israël ut offerrent in eo holocautomata, sicut scriptum est in lege Moysi viri Dei. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃3 ויקם ישוע בן יוצדק ואחיו הכהנים וזרבבל בן שאלתיאל ואחיו ויבנו את מזבח אלהי ישראל להעלות עליו עלות ככתוב בתורת משה איש האלהים (Ⅴ)

And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD, even burnt offerings morning and evening.
- Ils rétablirent l'autel sur ses fondements, quoiqu'ils eussent à craindre les peuples du pays, et ils y offrirent des holocaustes à l'Éternel, les holocaustes du matin et du soir. (Ⅱ) - Collocaverunt autem altare Dei super bases suas, deterrentibus eos per circuitum populis terrarum : et obtulerunt super illud holocaustum Domino mane et vespere. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃3 ויכינו המזבח על מכונתיו כי באימה עליהם מעמי הארצות *ויעל **ויעלו[C][v] עליו עלות ליהוה עלות לבקר ולערב (Ⅴ)

They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required;
- Ils célébrèrent la fête des tabernacles, comme il est écrit, et ils offrirent jour par jour des holocaustes, selon le nombre ordonné pour chaque jour. (Ⅱ) - Feceruntque solemnitatem tabernaculorum, sicut scriptum est, et holocaustum diebus singulis per ordinem secundum præceptum opus diei in die suo. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃3 ויעשו את חג הסכות ככתוב ועלת יום ביום במספר כמשפט דבר יום ביומו (Ⅴ)

And afterward offered the continual burnt offering, both of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of the LORD that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto the LORD.
- Après cela, ils offrirent l'holocauste perpétuel, les holocaustes des nouvelles lunes et de toutes les solennités consacrées à l'Éternel, et ceux de quiconque faisait des offrandes volontaires à l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Et post hæc holocaustum juge, tam in calendis quam in universis solemnitatibus Domini quæ erant consecratæ, et in omnibus in quibus ultro offerebatur munus Domino. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃3 ואחריכן עלת תמיד ולחדשים ולכל מועדי יהוה המקדשים ולכל מתנדב נדבה ליהוה (Ⅴ)

From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.
- Dès le premier jour du septième mois, ils commencèrent à offrir à l'Éternel des holocaustes. Cependant les fondements du temple de l'Éternel n'étaient pas encore posés. (Ⅱ) - A primo die mensis septimi cœperunt offerre holocaustum Domino : porro templum Dei nondum fundatum erat. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃3 מיום אחד לחדש השביעי החלו להעלות עלות ליהוה והיכל יהוה לא יסד (Ⅴ)

They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.
- On donna de l'argent aux tailleurs de pierres et aux charpentiers, et des vivres, des boissons et de l'huile aux Sidoniens et aux Tyriens, pour qu'ils amenassent par mer jusqu'à Japho des bois de cèdre du Liban, suivant l'autorisation qu'on avait eue de Cyrus, roi de Perse. (Ⅱ) - Dederunt autem pecunias latomis et cæmentariis : cibum quoque, et potum, et oleum Sidoniis Tyriisque, ut deferrent ligna cedrina de Libano ad mare Joppe, juxta quod præceperat Cyrus rex Persarum eis.\ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃3 ויתנו כסף לחצבים ולחרשים ומאכל ומשתה ושמן לצדנים ולצרים להביא עצי ארזים מן הלבנון אל ים יפוא כרשיון כורש מלך פרס עליהם פ (Ⅴ)

Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of the LORD.
- La seconde année depuis leur arrivée à la maison de Dieu à Jérusalem, au second mois, Zorobabel, fils de Schealthiel, Josué, fils de Jotsadak, avec le reste de leurs frères les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, et tous ceux qui étaient revenus de la captivité à Jérusalem, se mirent à l'oeuvre et chargèrent les Lévites de vingt ans et au-dessus de surveiller les travaux de la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Anno autem secundo adventus eorum ad templum Dei in Jerusalem, mense secundo, cœperunt Zorobabel filius Salathiel, et Josue filius Josedec, et reliqui de fratribus eorum sacerdotes, et Levitæ, et omnes qui venerant de captivitate in Jerusalem, et constituerunt Levitas a viginti annis et supra, ut urgerent opus Domini. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃3 ובשנה השנית לבואם אל בית האלהים לירושלם בחדש השני החלו זרבבל בן שאלתיאל וישוע בן יוצדק ושאר אחיהם הכהנים והלוים וכל הבאים מהשבי ירושלם ויעמידו את הלוים מבן עשרים שנה ומעלה לנצח על מלאכת בית יהוה פ (Ⅴ)

Then stood Jeshua with his sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to set forward the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brethren the Levites.
- Et Josué, avec ses fils et ses frères, Kadmiel, avec ses fils, fils de Juda, les fils de Hénadad, avec leurs fils et leurs frères les Lévites, se préparèrent tous ensemble à surveiller ceux qui travaillaient à la maison de Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Stetitque Josue et filii ejus et fratres ejus, Cedmihel et filii ejus, et filii Juda, quasi vir unus, ut instarent super eos qui faciebant opus in templo Dei : filii Henadad, et filii eorum, et fratres eorum Levitæ. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃3 ויעמד ישוע בניו ואחיו קדמיאל ובניו בני יהודה כאחד לנצח על עשה המלאכה בבית האלהים סבני חנדד בניהם ואחיהם הלוים (Ⅴ)

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.
- Lorsque les ouvriers posèrent les fondements du temple de l'Éternel, on fit assister les sacrificateurs en costume, avec les trompettes, et les Lévites, fils d'Asaph, avec les cymbales, afin qu'ils célébrassent l'Éternel, d'après les ordonnances de David, roi d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - Fundato igitur a cæmentariis templo Domini, steterunt sacerdotes in ornatu suo cum tubis, et Levitæ filii Asaph in cymbalis, ut laudarent Deum per manus David regis Israël. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃3 ויסדו הבנים את היכל יהוה ויעמידו הכהנים מלבשים בחצצרות והלוים בני אסף במצלתים להלל את יהוה על ידי דויד מלך ישראל (Ⅴ)

And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.
- Ils chantaient, célébrant et louant l'Éternel par ces paroles: Car il est bon, car sa miséricorde pour Israël dure à toujours! Et tout le peuple poussait de grands cris de joie en célébrant l'Éternel, parce qu'on posait les fondements de la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Et concinebant in hymnis, et confessione Domino : Quoniam bonus, quoniam in æternum misericordia ejus super Israël. Omnis quoque populus vociferabatur clamore magno in laudando Dominum, eo quod fundatum esset templum Domini. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃3 ויענו בהלל ובהודת ליהוה כי טוב כי לעולם חסדו על ישראל וכל העם הריעו תרועה[U] גדולה בהלל ליהוה על הוסד בית יהוה ס (Ⅴ)

But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:
- Mais plusieurs des sacrificateurs et des Lévites, et des chefs de famille âgés, qui avaient vu la première maison, pleuraient à grand bruit pendant qu'on posait sous leurs yeux les fondements de cette maison. Beaucoup d'autres faisaient éclater leur joie par des cris, (Ⅱ) - Plurimi etiam de sacerdotibus et Levitis, et principes patrum, et seniores, qui viderant templum prius cum fundatum esset, et hoc templum, in oculis eorum, flebant voce magna : et multi vociferantes in lætitia, elevabant vocem. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃3 ורבים מהכהנים והלוים וראשי האבות הזקנים אשר ראו את הבית הראשון ביסדו זה הבית בעיניהם בכים בקול גדול ורבים בתרועה בשמחה להרים קול (Ⅴ)

So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.
- en sorte qu'on ne pouvait distinguer le bruit des cris de joie d'avec le bruit des pleurs parmi le peuple, car le peuple poussait de grands cris dont le son s'entendait au loin. (Ⅱ) - Nec poterat quisquam agnoscere vocem clamoris lætantium, et vocem fletus populi : commistim enim populus vociferabatur clamore magno, et vox audiebatur procul. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃3 ואין העם מכירים קול תרועת השמחה לקול בכי העם כי העם מריעים תרועה גדולה והקול נשמע עד למרחוק פ (Ⅴ)
