11. 1  
‫ 1  ׃11  ויען צפר הנעמתי ויאמר ‬
- Tsophar de Naama prit la parole et dit: (Ⅱ)
- Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said, (Ⅲ)
- ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Σωφαρ ὁ Μιναι̃ος λέγει (Ⅳ)
- Respondens autem Sophar Naamathites, dixit : (Ⅴ)
11. 2  
‫ 2  ׃11  הרב דברים לא יענה ואם איש שפתים יצדק ‬
- Cette multitude de paroles ne trouvera-t-elle point de réponse, Et suffira-t-il d'être un discoureur pour avoir raison? (Ⅱ)
- Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified? (Ⅲ)
- ὁ τὰ πολλὰ λέγων καὶ ἀντακούσεται ἢ καὶ ὁ εὔλαλος οἴεται εἰ̃ναι δίκαιος εὐλογημένος γεννητὸς γυναικὸς ὀλιγόβιος (Ⅳ)
- Numquid qui multa loquitur, non et audiet ?/ aut vir verbosus justificabitur ?/ (Ⅴ)
11. 3  
‫ 3  ׃11  בדיך מתים יחרישו ותלעג ואין מכלם ‬
- Tes vains propos feront-ils taire les gens? Te moqueras-tu, sans que personne te confonde? (Ⅱ)
- Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed? (Ⅲ)
- μὴ πολὺς ἐν ῥήμασιν γίνου οὐ γάρ ἐστιν ὁ ἀντικρινόμενός σοι (Ⅳ)
- Tibi soli tacebunt homines ?/ et cum ceteros irriseris, a nullo confutaberis ?/ (Ⅴ)
11. 4  
‫ 4  ׃11  ותאמר זך לקחי ובר הייתי בעיניך ‬
- Tu dis: Ma manière de voir est juste, Et je suis pur à tes yeux. (Ⅱ)
- For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. (Ⅲ)
- μὴ γὰρ λέγε ὅτι καθαρός εἰμι τοι̃ς ἔργοις καὶ ἄμεμπτος ἐναντίον αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ)
- Dixisti enim : Purus est sermo meus,/ et mundus sum in conspectu tuo./ (Ⅴ)
11. 5  
‫ 5  ׃11  ואולם מי יתן אלוה דבר ויפתח שפתיו עמך ‬
- Oh! si Dieu voulait parler, S'il ouvrait les lèvres pour te répondre, (Ⅱ)
- But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; (Ⅲ)
- ἀλλὰ πω̃ς ἂν ὁ κύριος λαλήσαι πρὸς σέ καὶ ἀνοίξει χείλη αὐτου̃ μετὰ σου̃ (Ⅳ)
- Atque utinam Deus loqueretur tecum,/ et aperiret labia sua tibi,/ (Ⅴ)
11. 6  
‫ 6  ׃11  ויגד לך תעלמות חכמה כי כפלים לתושיה ודע כי ישה לך אלוה מעונך ‬
- Et s'il te révélait les secrets de sa sagesse, De son immense sagesse, Tu verrais alors qu'il ne te traite pas selon ton iniquité. (Ⅱ)
- And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth. (Ⅲ)
- εἰ̃τα ἀναγγελει̃ σοι δύναμιν σοφίας ὅτι διπλου̃ς ἔσται τω̃ν κατὰ σέ καὶ τότε γνώση̨ ὅτι ἄξιά σοι ἀπέβη ἀπὸ κυρίου ὡ̃ν ἡμάρτηκας (Ⅳ)
- ut ostenderet tibi secreta sapientiæ,/ et quod multiplex esset lex ejus :/ et intelligeres quod multo minora exigaris ab eo/ quam meretur iniquitas tua !/ (Ⅴ)
11. 7  
‫ 7  ׃11  החקר אלוה תמצא אם עד תכלית שדי תמצא ‬
- Prétends-tu sonder les pensées de Dieu, Parvenir à la connaissance parfaite du Tout Puissant? (Ⅱ)
- Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? (Ⅲ)
- ἠ̃ ἴχνος κυρίου εὑρήσεις ἢ εἰς τὰ ἔσχατα ἀφίκου ἃ ἐποίησεν ὁ παντοκράτωρ (Ⅳ)
- Forsitan vestigia Dei comprehendes,/ et usque ad perfectum Omnipotentem reperies ?/ (Ⅴ)
11. 8  
‫ 8  ׃11  גבהי שמים מה תפעל עמקה משאול מה תדע ‬
- Elle est aussi haute que les cieux: que feras-tu? Plus profonde que le séjour des morts: que sauras-tu? (Ⅱ)
- It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? (Ⅲ)
- ὑψηλὸς ὁ οὐρανός καὶ τί ποιήσεις βαθύτερα δὲ τω̃ν ἐν ἅ̨δου τί οἰ̃δας (Ⅳ)
- Excelsior cælo est, et quid facies ?/ profundior inferno, et unde cognosces ?/ (Ⅴ)
11. 9  
‫ 9  ׃11  ארכה מארץ מדה ורחבה מני ים ‬
- La mesure en est plus longue que la terre, Elle est plus large que la mer. (Ⅱ)
- The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea. (Ⅲ)
- ἢ μακρότερα μέτρου γη̃ς ἢ εὔρους θαλάσσης (Ⅳ)
- Longior terra mensura ejus,/ et latior mari./ (Ⅴ)
11. 10  
‫ 10 ׃11  אם יחלף ויסגיר ויקהיל ומי ישיבנו ‬
- S'il passe, s'il saisit, S'il traîne à son tribunal, qui s'y opposera? (Ⅱ)
- If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him? (Ⅲ)
- ἐὰν δὲ καταστρέψη̨ τὰ πάντα τίς ἐρει̃ αὐτω̨̃ τί ἐποίησας (Ⅳ)
- Si subverterit omnia, vel in unum coarctaverit,/ quis contradicet ei ?/ (Ⅴ)
11. 11  
‫ 11 ׃11  כי הוא ידע מתי שוא וירא און ולא יתבונן ‬
- Car il connaît les vicieux, Il voit facilement les coupables. (Ⅱ)
- For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it? (Ⅲ)
- αὐτὸς γὰρ οἰ̃δεν ἔργα ἀνόμων ἰδὼν δὲ ἄτοπα οὐ παρόψεται (Ⅳ)
- Ipse enim novit hominum vanitatem ;/ et videns iniquitatem, nonne considerat ?/ (Ⅴ)
11. 12  
‫ 12 ׃11  ואיש נבוב ילבב ועיר פרא אדם יולד ‬
- L'homme, au contraire, a l'intelligence d'un fou, Il est né comme le petit d'un âne sauvage. (Ⅱ)
- For vain men would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt. (Ⅲ)
- ἄνθρωπος δὲ ἄλλως νήχεται λόγοις βροτὸς δὲ γεννητὸς γυναικὸς ἴσα ὄνω̨ ἐρημίτη̨ (Ⅳ)
- Vir vanus in superbiam erigitur,/ et tamquam pullum onagri se liberum natum putat./ (Ⅴ)
11. 13  
‫ 13 ׃11  אם אתה‪[1]‬ הכינות לבך ופרשת אליו כפך ‬
- Pour toi, dirige ton coeur vers Dieu, Étends vers lui tes mains, (Ⅱ)
- If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him; (Ⅲ)
- εἰ γὰρ σὺ καθαρὰν ἔθου τὴν καρδίαν σου ὑπτιάζεις δὲ χει̃ρας πρὸς αὐτόν (Ⅳ)
- Tu autem firmasti cor tuum,/ et expandisti ad eum manus tuas./ (Ⅴ)
11. 14  
‫ 14 ׃11  אם און בידך הרחיקהו ואל תשכן באהליך עולה ‬
- Éloigne-toi de l'iniquité, Et ne laisse pas habiter l'injustice sous ta tente. (Ⅱ)
- If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles. (Ⅲ)
- εἰ ἄνομόν τί ἐστιν ἐν χερσίν σου πόρρω ποίησον αὐτὸ ἀπὸ σου̃ ἀδικία δὲ ἐν διαίτη̨ σου μὴ αὐλισθήτω (Ⅳ)
- Si iniquitatem quæ est in manu tua abstuleris a te,/ et non manserit in tabernaculo tuo injustitia,/ (Ⅴ)
11. 15  
‫ 15 ׃11  כי אז תשא פניך ממום והיית מצק ולא תירא ‬
- Alors tu lèveras ton front sans tache, Tu seras ferme et sans crainte; (Ⅱ)
- For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: (Ⅲ)
- οὕτως γὰρ ἀναλάμψει σου τὸ πρόσωπον ὥσπερ ὕδωρ καθαρόν ἐκδύση̨ δὲ ῥύπον καὶ οὐ μὴ φοβηθη̨̃ς (Ⅳ)
- tunc levare poteris faciem tuam absque macula ;/ et eris stabilis, et non timebis./ (Ⅴ)
11. 16  
‫ 16 ׃11  כי אתה עמל תשכח כמים עברו תזכר ‬
- Tu oublieras tes souffrances, Tu t'en souviendras comme des eaux écoulées. (Ⅱ)
- Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away: (Ⅲ)
- καὶ τὸν κόπον ἐπιλήση̨ ὥσπερ κυ̃μα παρελθὸν καὶ οὐ πτοηθήση̨ (Ⅳ)
- Miseriæ quoque oblivisceris,/ et quasi aquarum quæ præterierunt recordaberis./ (Ⅴ)
11. 17  
‫ 17 ׃11  ומצהרים יקום חלד תעפה כבקר תהיה ‬
- Tes jours auront plus d'éclat que le soleil à son midi, Tes ténèbres seront comme la lumière du matin, (Ⅱ)
- And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning. (Ⅲ)
- ἡ δὲ εὐχή σου ὥσπερ ἑωσφόρος ἐκ δὲ μεσημβρίας ἀνατελει̃ σοι ζωή (Ⅳ)
- Et quasi meridianus fulgor consurget tibi ad vesperam ;/ et cum te consumptum putaveris, orieris ut lucifer./ (Ⅴ)
11. 18  
‫ 18 ׃11  ובטחת כי יש תקוה וחפרת לבטח תשכב ‬
- Tu seras plein de confiance, et ton attente ne sera plus vaine; Tu regarderas autour de toi, et tu reposeras en sûreté. (Ⅱ)
- And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety. (Ⅲ)
- πεποιθώς τε ἔση̨ ὅτι ἔστιν σοι ἐλπίς ἐκ δὲ μερίμνης καὶ φροντίδος ἀναφανει̃ταί σοι εἰρήνη (Ⅳ)
- Et habebis fiduciam, proposita tibi spe :/ et defossus securus dormies./ (Ⅴ)
11. 19  
‫ 19 ׃11  ורבצת ואין מחריד וחלו פניך רבים ‬
- Tu te coucheras sans que personne ne trouble, Et plusieurs caresseront ton visage. (Ⅱ)
- Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee. (Ⅲ)
- ἡσυχάσεις γάρ καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ πολεμω̃ν σε μεταβαλόμενοι δὲ πολλοί σου δεηθήσονται (Ⅳ)
- Requiesces, et non erit qui te exterreat ;/ et deprecabuntur faciem tuam plurimi./ (Ⅴ)
11. 20  
‫ 20 ׃11  ועיני רשעים תכלינה ומנוס אבד מנהם ותקותם מפח נפש פ‬
- Mais les yeux des méchants seront consumés; Pour eux point de refuge; La mort, voilà leur espérance! (Ⅱ)
- But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost. (Ⅲ)
- σωτηρία δὲ αὐτοὺς ἀπολείψει ἡ γὰρ ἐλπὶς αὐτω̃ν ἀπώλεια ὀφθαλμοὶ δὲ ἀσεβω̃ν τακήσονται (Ⅳ)
- Oculi autem impiorum deficient,/ et effugium peribit ab eis :/ et spes illorum abominatio animæ.] (Ⅴ)
