ἐγένετο δὲ ὡς ἡ ἡμέρα αὕτη καὶ ἠ̃λθον οἱ ἄγγελοι του̃ θεου̃ παραστη̃ναι ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ ὁ διάβολος ἠ̃λθεν ἐν μέσω̨ αὐτω̃ν παραστη̃ναι ἐναντίον του̃ κυρίου
- Or, les fils de Dieu vinrent un jour se présenter devant l'Éternel, et Satan vint aussi au milieu d'eux se présenter devant l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. (Ⅲ) - Factum est autem, cum quadam die venissent filii Dei, et starent coram Domino, venisset quoque Satan inter eos, et staret in conspectu ejus, (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃2 ויהי היום ויבאו בני האלהים להתיצב על יהוה ויבוא גם השטן בתכם להתיצב על יהוה (Ⅴ)

καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ κύριος τω̨̃ διαβόλω̨ πόθεν σὺ ἔρχη̨ τότε εἰ̃πεν ὁ διάβολος ἐνώπιον του̃ κυρίου διαπορευθεὶς τὴν ὑπ' οὐρανὸν καὶ ἐμπεριπατήσας τὴν σύμπασαν πάρειμι
- L'Éternel dit à Satan: D'où viens-tu? Et Satan répondit à l'Éternel: De parcourir la terre et de m'y promener. (Ⅱ) - And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. (Ⅲ) - ut diceret Dominus ad Satan : Unde venis ? Qui respondens ait : Circuivi terram, et perambulavi eam. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃2 ויאמר יהוה אל השטן אי מזה תבא ויען השטן את יהוה ויאמר משט בארץ ומהתהלך בה (Ⅴ)

εἰ̃πεν δὲ ὁ κύριος πρὸς τὸν διάβολον προσέσχες οὐ̃ν τω̨̃ θεράποντί μου Ιωβ ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν κατ' αὐτὸν τω̃ν ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἄνθρωπος ἄκακος ἀληθινός ἄμεμπτος θεοσεβής ἀπεχόμενος ἀπὸ παντὸς κακου̃ ἔτι δὲ ἔχεται ἀκακίας σὺ δὲ εἰ̃πας τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτου̃ διὰ κενη̃ς ἀπολέσαι
- L'Éternel dit à Satan: As-tu remarqué mon serviteur Job? Il n'y a personne comme lui sur la terre; c'est un homme intègre et droit, craignant Dieu, et se détournant du mal. Il demeure ferme dans son intégrité, et tu m'excites à le perdre sans motif. (Ⅱ) - And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Dominus ad Satan : Numquid considerasti servum meum Job, quod non sit ei similis in terra, vir simplex et rectus, ac timens Deum, et recedens a malo, et adhuc retinens innocentiam ? tu autem commovisti me adversus eum, ut affligerem eum frustra. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃2 ויאמר יהוה אל השטן השמת לבך אל עבדי איוב כי אין כמהו בארץ איש תם וישר ירא אלהים וסר מרע ועדנו מחזיק בתמתו ותסיתני בו לבלעו חנם (Ⅴ)

ὑπολαβὼν δὲ ὁ διάβολος εἰ̃πεν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ δέρμα ὑπὲρ δέρματος ὅσα ὑπάρχει ἀνθρώπω̨ ὑπὲρ τη̃ς ψυχη̃ς αὐτου̃ ἐκτείσει
- Et Satan répondit à l'Éternel: Peau pour peau! tout ce que possède un homme, il le donne pour sa vie. (Ⅱ) - And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. (Ⅲ) - Cui respondens Satan, ait : Pellem pro pelle, et cuncta quæ habet homo dabit pro anima sua ; (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃2 ויען השטן את יהוה ויאמר עור בעד עור וכל אשר לאיש יתן בעד נפשו (Ⅴ)

οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλὰ ἀποστείλας τὴν χει̃ρά σου ἅψαι τω̃ν ὀστω̃ν αὐτου̃ καὶ τω̃ν σαρκω̃ν αὐτου̃ εἰ μὴν εἰς πρόσωπόν σε εὐλογήσει
- Mais étends ta main, touche à ses os et à sa chair, et je suis sûr qu'il te maudit en face. (Ⅱ) - But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. (Ⅲ) - alioquin mitte manum tuam, et tange os ejus et carnem, et tunc videbis quod in faciem benedicat tibi. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃2 אולם שלח נא ידך וגע אל עצמו ואל בשרו אם לא אל פניך יברכך (Ⅴ)

εἰ̃πεν δὲ ὁ κύριος τω̨̃ διαβόλω̨ ἰδοὺ παραδίδωμί σοι αὐτόν μόνον τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτου̃ διαφύλαξον
- L'Éternel dit à Satan: Voici, je te le livre: seulement, épargne sa vie. (Ⅱ) - And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. (Ⅲ) - Dixit ergo Dominus ad Satan : Ecce in manu tua est : verumtamen animam illius serva. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃2 ויאמר יהוה אל השטן הנו בידך אך את נפשו שמר (Ⅴ)

ἐξη̃λθεν δὲ ὁ διάβολος ἀπὸ του̃ κυρίου καὶ ἔπαισεν τὸν Ιωβ ἕλκει πονηρω̨̃ ἀπὸ ποδω̃ν ἕως κεφαλη̃ς
- Et Satan se retira de devant la face de l'Éternel. Puis il frappa Job d'un ulcère malin, depuis la plante du pied jusqu'au sommet de la tête. (Ⅱ) - So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. (Ⅲ) - Egressus igitur Satan a facie Domini, percussit Job ulcere pessimo, a planta pedis usque ad verticem ejus ; (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃2 ויצא השטן מאת פני יהוה ויך את איוב בשחין רע מכף רגלו *עד **ועד קדקדו (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἔλαβεν ὄστρακον ἵνα τὸν ἰχω̃ρα ξύη̨ καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐπὶ τη̃ς κοπρίας ἔξω τη̃ς πόλεως
- Et Job prit un tesson pour se gratter et s'assit sur la cendre. (Ⅱ) - And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes. (Ⅲ) - qui testa saniem radebat, sedens in sterquilinio. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃2 ויקח לו חרש להתגרד בו והוא ישב בתוך האפר (Ⅴ)

χρόνου δὲ πολλου̃ προβεβηκότος εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτου̃ μέχρι τίνος καρτερήσεις λέγων
- Sa femme lui dit: Tu demeures ferme dans ton intégrité! Maudis Dieu, et meurs! (Ⅱ) - Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. (Ⅲ) - Dixit autem illi uxor sua : Adhuc tu permanes in simplicitate tua ? Benedic Deo, et morere. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃2 ותאמר לו אשתו עדך מחזיק בתמתך ברך אלהים ומת (Ⅴ)

ὁ δὲ ἐμβλέψας εἰ̃πεν αὐτη̨̃ ὥσπερ μία τω̃ν ἀφρόνων γυναικω̃ν ἐλάλησας εἰ τὰ ἀγαθὰ ἐδεξάμεθα ἐκ χειρὸς κυρίου τὰ κακὰ οὐχ ὑποίσομεν ἐν πα̃σιν τούτοις τοι̃ς συμβεβηκόσιν αὐτω̨̃ οὐδὲν ἥμαρτεν Ιωβ τοι̃ς χείλεσιν ἐναντίον του̃ θεου̃
- Mais Job lui répondit: Tu parles comme une femme insensée. Quoi! nous recevons de Dieu le bien, et nous ne recevrions pas aussi le mal! En tout cela Job ne pécha point par ses lèvres. (Ⅱ) - But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. (Ⅲ) - Qui ait ad illam : Quasi una de stultis mulieribus locuta es : si bona suscepimus de manu Dei, mala quare non suscipiamus ? In omnibus his non peccavit Job labiis suis.\ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃2 ויאמר אליה כדבר אחת הנבלות תדברי גם את הטוב נקבל מאת האלהים ואת הרע לא נקבל בכל זאת לא חטא איוב בשפתיו פ (Ⅴ)

ἀκούσαντες δὲ οἱ τρει̃ς φίλοι αὐτου̃ τὰ κακὰ πάντα τὰ ἐπελθόντα αὐτω̨̃ παρεγένοντο ἕκαστος ἐκ τη̃ς ἰδίας χώρας πρὸς αὐτόν Ελιφας ὁ Θαιμανων βασιλεύς Βαλδαδ ὁ Σαυχαίων τύραννος Σωφαρ ὁ Μιναίων βασιλεύς καὶ παρεγένοντο πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁμοθυμαδὸν του̃ παρακαλέσαι καὶ ἐπισκέψασθαι αὐτόν
- Trois amis de Job, Éliphaz de Théman, Bildad de Schuach, et Tsophar de Naama, apprirent tous les malheurs qui lui étaient arrivés. Ils se concertèrent et partirent de chez eux pour aller le plaindre et le consoler! (Ⅱ) - Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him. (Ⅲ) - Igitur audientes tres amici Job omne malum quod accidisset ei, venerunt singuli de loco suo, Eliphaz Themanites, et Baldad Suhites, et Sophar Naamathites. Condixerant enim ut pariter venientes visitarent eum, et consolarentur. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃2 וישמעו שלשת רעי איוב את כל הרעה הזאת הבאה עליו ויבאו איש ממקמו אליפז התימני ובלדד השוחי וצופר הנעמתי ויועדו יחדו לבוא לנוד לו ולנחמו (Ⅴ)

ἰδόντες δὲ αὐτὸν πόρρωθεν οὐκ ἐπέγνωσαν καὶ βοήσαντες φωνη̨̃ μεγάλη̨ ἔκλαυσαν ῥήξαντες ἕκαστος τὴν ἑαυτου̃ στολὴν καὶ καταπασάμενοι γη̃ν
- Ayant de loin porté les regards sur lui, ils ne le reconnurent pas, et ils élevèrent la voix et pleurèrent. Ils déchirèrent leurs manteaux, et ils jetèrent de la poussière en l'air au-dessus de leur tête. (Ⅱ) - And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven. (Ⅲ) - Cumque elevassent procul oculos suos, non cognoverunt eum, et exclamantes ploraverunt, scissisque vestibus sparserunt pulverem super caput suum in cælum. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃2 וישאו את עיניהם מרחוק ולא הכירהו וישאו קולם ויבכו ויקרעו איש מעלו ויזרקו עפר על ראשיהם השמימה (Ⅴ)

παρεκάθισαν αὐτω̨̃ ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας καὶ ἑπτὰ νύκτας καὶ οὐδεὶς αὐτω̃ν ἐλάλησεν ἑώρων γὰρ τὴν πληγὴν δεινὴν οὐ̃σαν καὶ μεγάλην σφόδρα
- Et ils se tinrent assis à terre auprès de lui sept jours et sept nuits, sans lui dire une parole, car ils voyaient combien sa douleur était grande. (Ⅱ) - So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great. (Ⅲ) - Et sederunt cum eo in terra septem diebus et septem noctibus : et nemo loquebatur ei verbum : videbant enim dolorem esse vehementem. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃2 וישבו אתו לארץ שבעת ימים ושבעת לילות ואין דבר אליו דבר כי ראו כי גדל הכאב מאד (Ⅴ)
