1 ׃24 מדוע משדי לא נצפנו עתים *וידעו **וידעיו לא חזו ימיו
- Pourquoi le Tout Puissant ne met-il pas des temps en réserve, Et pourquoi ceux qui le connaissent ne voient-ils pas ses jours? (Ⅱ) - Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days? (Ⅲ) - διὰ τί δὲ κύριον ἔλαθον ὡ̃ραι (Ⅳ) - Ab Omnipotente non sunt abscondita tempora :/ qui autem noverunt eum,/ ignorant dies illius./ (Ⅴ)

2 ׃24 גבלות ישיגו עדר גזלו וירעו
- On déplace les bornes, On vole des troupeaux, et on les fait paître; (Ⅱ) - Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof. (Ⅲ) - ἀσεβει̃ς δὲ ὅριον ὑπερέβησαν ποίμνιον σὺν ποιμένι ἁρπάσαντες (Ⅳ) - Alii terminos transtulerunt ;/ diripuerunt greges, et paverunt eos./ (Ⅴ)

3 ׃24 חמור יתומים ינהגו יחבלו שור אלמנה
- On enlève l'âne de l'orphelin, On prend pour gage le boeuf de la veuve; (Ⅱ) - They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge. (Ⅲ) - ὑποζύγιον ὀρφανω̃ν ἀπήγαγον καὶ βου̃ν χήρας ἠνεχύρασαν (Ⅳ) - Asinum pupillorum abegerunt,/ et abstulerunt pro pignore bovem viduæ./ (Ⅴ)

4 ׃24 יטו אביונים מדרך יחד חבאו עניי ארץ
- On repousse du chemin les indigents, On force tous les malheureux du pays à se cacher. (Ⅱ) - They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together. (Ⅲ) - ἐξέκλιναν ἀδυνάτους ἐξ ὁδου̃ δικαίας ὁμοθυμαδὸν ἐκρύβησαν πραει̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Subverterunt pauperum viam,/ et oppresserunt pariter mansuetos terræ./ (Ⅴ)

5 ׃24 הן פראים במדבר יצאו בפעלם משחרי לטרף ערבה לו לחם לנערים
- Et voici, comme les ânes sauvages du désert, Ils sortent le matin pour chercher de la nourriture, Ils n'ont que le désert pour trouver le pain de leurs enfants; (Ⅱ) - Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children. (Ⅲ) - ἀπέβησαν δὲ ὥσπερ ὄνοι ἐν ἀγρω̨̃ ὑπὲρ ἐμου̃ ἐξελθόντες τὴν ἑαυτω̃ν πρα̃ξιν ἡδύνθη αὐτω̨̃ ἄρτος εἰς νεωτέρους (Ⅳ) - Alii quasi onagri in deserto egrediuntur ad opus suum :/ vigilantes ad prædam, præparant panem liberis./ (Ⅴ)

6 ׃24 בשדה בלילו *יקצירו **יקצורו וכרם רשע ילקשו
- Ils coupent le fourrage qui reste dans les champs, Ils grappillent dans la vigne de l'impie; (Ⅱ) - They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked. (Ⅲ) - ἀγρὸν πρὸ ὥρας οὐκ αὐτω̃ν ὄντα ἐθέρισαν ἀδύνατοι δὲ ἀμπελω̃νας ἀσεβω̃ν ἀμισθὶ καὶ ἀσιτὶ ἠργάσαντο (Ⅳ) - Agrum non suum demetunt,/ et vineam ejus, quem vi oppresserint, vindemiant./ (Ⅴ)

7 ׃24 ערום ילינו מבלי לבוש ואין כסות בקרה
- Ils passent la nuit dans la nudité, sans vêtement, Sans couverture contre le froid; (Ⅱ) - They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold. (Ⅲ) - γυμνοὺς πολλοὺς ἐκοίμισαν ἄνευ ἱματίων ἀμφίασιν δὲ ψυχη̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἀφείλαντο (Ⅳ) - Nudos dimittunt homines, indumenta tollentes,/ quibus non est operimentum in frigore :/ (Ⅴ)

8 ׃24 מזרם הרים ירטבו ומבלי מחסה חבקו צור
- Ils sont percés par la pluie des montagnes, Et ils embrassent les rochers comme unique refuge. (Ⅱ) - They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter. (Ⅲ) - ἀπὸ ψεκάδων ὀρέων ὑγραίνονται παρὰ τὸ μὴ ἔχειν αὐτοὺς σκέπην πέτραν περιεβάλοντο (Ⅳ) - quos imbres montium rigant,/ et non habentes velamen, amplexantur lapides./ (Ⅴ)

9 ׃24 יגזלו משד יתום ועל עני יחבלו
- On arrache l'orphelin à la mamelle, On prend des gages sur le pauvre. (Ⅱ) - They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor. (Ⅲ) - ἥρπασαν ὀρφανὸν ἀπὸ μαστου̃ ἐκπεπτωκότα δὲ ἐταπείνωσαν (Ⅳ) - Vim fecerunt deprædantes pupillos,/ et vulgum pauperem spoliaverunt./ (Ⅴ)

10 ׃24 ערום הלכו בלי לבוש ורעבים נשאו עמר
- Ils vont tout nus, sans vêtement, Ils sont affamés, et ils portent les gerbes; (Ⅱ) - They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry; (Ⅲ) - γυμνοὺς δὲ ἐκοίμισαν ἀδίκως πεινώντων δὲ τὸν ψωμὸν ἀφείλαντο (Ⅳ) - Nudis et incedentibus absque vestitu,/ et esurientibus tulerunt spicas./ (Ⅴ)

11 ׃24 בין שורתם יצהירו יקבים דרכו ויצמאו
- Dans les enclos de l'impie ils font de l'huile, Ils foulent le pressoir, et ils ont soif; (Ⅱ) - Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst. (Ⅲ) - ἐν στενοι̃ς ἀδίκως ἐνήδρευσαν ὁδὸν δὲ δικαίαν οὐκ ἤ̨δεισαν (Ⅳ) - Inter acervos eorum meridiati sunt,/ qui calcatis torcularibus sitiunt./ (Ⅴ)

12 ׃24 מעיר מתים ינאקו ונפש חללים תשוע ואלוה לא ישים תפלה
- Dans les villes s'exhalent les soupirs des mourants, L'âme des blessés jette des cris... Et Dieu ne prend pas garde à ces infamies! (Ⅱ) - Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them. (Ⅲ) - οἳ ἐκ πόλεως καὶ οἴκων ἰδίων ἐξεβάλλοντο ψυχὴ δὲ νηπίων ἐστέναξεν μέγα αὐτὸς δὲ διὰ τί τούτων ἐπισκοπὴν οὐ πεποίηται (Ⅳ) - De civitatibus fecerunt viros gemere,/ et anima vulneratorum clamavit :/ et Deus inultum abire non patitur./ (Ⅴ)

13 ׃24 המה היו במרדי אור לא הכירו דרכיו ולא ישבו בנתיבתיו
- D'autres sont ennemis de la lumière, Ils n'en connaissent pas les voies, Ils n'en pratiquent pas les sentiers. (Ⅱ) - They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof. (Ⅲ) - ἐπὶ γη̃ς ὄντων αὐτω̃ν καὶ οὐκ ἐπέγνωσαν ὁδὸν δὲ δικαιοσύνης οὐκ ἤ̨δεισαν οὐδὲ ἀτραποὺς αὐτη̃ς ἐπορεύθησαν (Ⅳ) - Ipsi fuerunt rebelles lumini :/ nescierunt vias ejus,/ nec reversi sunt per semitas ejus./ (Ⅴ)

14 ׃24 לאור יקום רוצח יקטל עני ואביון ובלילה יהי כגנב
- L'assassin se lève au point du jour, Tue le pauvre et l'indigent, Et il dérobe pendant la nuit. (Ⅱ) - The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief. (Ⅲ) - γνοὺς δὲ αὐτω̃ν τὰ ἔργα παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς εἰς σκότος καὶ νυκτὸς ἔσται ὡς κλέπτης (Ⅳ) - Mane primo consurgit homicida ;/ interficit egenum et pauperem :/ per noctem vero erit quasi fur./ (Ⅴ)

15 ׃24 ועין נאף שמרה נשף לאמר לא תשורני עין וסתר פנים ישים
- L'oeil de l'adultère épie le crépuscule; Personne ne me verra, dit-il, Et il met un voile sur sa figure. (Ⅱ) - The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ὀφθαλμὸς μοιχου̃ ἐφύλαξεν σκότος λέγων οὐ προσνοήσει με ὀφθαλμός καὶ ἀποκρυβὴν προσώπου ἔθετο (Ⅳ) - Oculus adulteri observat caliginem,/ dicens : Non me videbit oculus :/ et operiet vultum suum./ (Ⅴ)

16 ׃24 חתר בחשך בתים יומם חתמו למו לא ידעו אור
- La nuit ils forcent les maisons, Le jour ils se tiennent enfermés; Ils ne connaissent pas la lumière. (Ⅱ) - In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light. (Ⅲ) - διώρυξεν ἐν σκότει οἰκίας ἡμέρας ἐσφράγισαν ἑαυτούς οὐκ ἐπέγνωσαν φω̃ς (Ⅳ) - Perfodit in tenebris domos,/ sicut in die condixerant sibi,/ et ignoraverunt lucem./ (Ⅴ)

17 ׃24 כי יחדו בקר למו צלמות כי יכיר בלהות צלמות
- Pour eux, le matin c'est l'ombre de la mort, Ils en éprouvent toutes les terreurs. (Ⅱ) - For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι ὁμοθυμαδὸν τὸ πρωὶ αὐτοι̃ς σκιὰ θανάτου ὅτι ἐπιγνώσεται ταραχὰς σκια̃ς θανάτου (Ⅳ) - Si subito apparuerit aurora, arbitrantur umbram mortis :/ et sic in tenebris quasi in luce ambulant./ (Ⅴ)

18 ׃24 קל הוא על פני מים תקלל חלקתם בארץ לא יפנה דרך כרמים
- Eh quoi! l'impie est d'un poids léger sur la face des eaux, Il n'a sur la terre qu'une part maudite, Il ne prend jamais le chemin des vignes! (Ⅱ) - He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards. (Ⅲ) - ἐλαφρός ἐστιν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ὕδατος καταραθείη ἡ μερὶς αὐτω̃ν ἐπὶ γη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Levis est super faciem aquæ :/ maledicta sit pars ejus in terra,/ nec ambulet per viam vinearum./ (Ⅴ)

19 ׃24 ציה גם חם יגזלו מימי שלג שאול חטאו
- Comme la sécheresse et la chaleur absorbent les eaux de la neige, Ainsi le séjour des morts engloutit ceux qui pèchent! (Ⅱ) - Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned. (Ⅲ) - ἀναφανείη δὲ τὰ φυτὰ αὐτω̃ν ἐπὶ γη̃ς ξηρά ἀγκαλίδα γὰρ ὀρφανω̃ν ἥρπασαν (Ⅳ) - Ad nimium calorem transeat ab aquis nivium,/ et usque ad inferos peccatum illius./ (Ⅴ)

20 ׃24 ישכחהו רחם מתקו רמה עוד לא יזכר ותשבר כעץ עולה
- Quoi! le sein maternel l'oublie, Les vers en font leurs délices, On ne se souvient plus de lui! L'impie est brisé comme un arbre, (Ⅱ) - The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree. (Ⅲ) - εἰ̃τ' ἀνεμνήσθη αὐτου̃ ἡ ἁμαρτία ὥσπερ δὲ ὁμίχλη δρόσου ἀφανὴς ἐγένετο ἀποδοθείη δὲ αὐτω̨̃ ἃ ἔπραξεν συντριβείη δὲ πα̃ς ἄδικος ἴσα ξύλω̨ ἀνιάτω̨ (Ⅳ) - Obliviscatur ejus misericordia ; dulcedo illius vermes :/ non sit in recordatione,/ sed conteratur quasi lignum infructuosum./ (Ⅴ)

21 ׃24 רעה עקרה לא תלד ואלמנה לא ייטיב
- Lui qui dépouille la femme stérile et sans enfants, Lui qui ne répand aucun bienfait sur la veuve!... (Ⅱ) - He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow. (Ⅲ) - στει̃ραν γὰρ οὐκ εὐ̃ ἐποίησεν καὶ γύναιον οὐκ ἠλέησεν (Ⅳ) - Pavit enim sterilem quæ non parit,/ et viduæ bene non fecit./ (Ⅴ)

22 ׃24 ומשך אבירים בכחו יקום ולא יאמין בחיין
- Non! Dieu par sa force prolonge les jours des violents, Et les voilà debout quand ils désespéraient de la vie; (Ⅱ) - He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life. (Ⅲ) - θυμω̨̃ δὲ κατέστρεψεν ἀδυνάτους ἀναστὰς τοιγαρου̃ν οὐ μὴ πιστεύση̨ κατὰ τη̃ς ἑαυτου̃ ζωη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Detraxit fortes in fortitudine sua,/ et cum steterit, non credet vitæ suæ./ (Ⅴ)

23 ׃24 יתן לו לבטח וישען ועיניהו על דרכיהם
- Il leur donne de la sécurité et de la confiance, Il a les regards sur leurs voies. (Ⅱ) - Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways. (Ⅲ) - μαλακισθεὶς μὴ ἐλπιζέτω ὑγιασθη̃ναι ἀλλὰ πεσει̃ται νόσω̨ (Ⅳ) - Dedit ei Deus locum pœnitentiæ,/ et ille abutitur eo in superbiam :/ oculi autem ejus sunt in viis illius./ (Ⅴ)

24 ׃24 רומו מעט ואיננו והמכו ככל יקפצון וכראש שבלת ימלו
- Ils se sont élevés; et en un instant ils ne sont plus, Ils tombent, ils meurent comme tous les hommes, Ils sont coupés comme la tête des épis. (Ⅱ) - They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn. (Ⅲ) - πολλοὺς γὰρ ἐκάκωσεν τὸ ὕψωμα αὐτου̃ ἐμαράνθη δὲ ὥσπερ μολόχη ἐν καύματι ἢ ὥσπερ στάχυς ἀπὸ καλάμης αὐτόματος ἀποπεσών (Ⅳ) - Elevati sunt ad modicum, et non subsistent :/ et humiliabuntur sicut omnia, et auferentur,/ et sicut summitates spicarum conterentur./ (Ⅴ)

25 ׃24 ואם לא אפו מי יכזיבני וישם לאל מלתי ס
- S'il n'en est pas ainsi, qui me démentira, Qui réduira mes paroles à néant? (Ⅱ) - And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth? (Ⅲ) - εἰ δὲ μή τίς ἐστιν ὁ φάμενος ψευδη̃ με λέγειν καὶ θήσει εἰς οὐδὲν τὰ ῥήματά μου (Ⅳ) - Quod si non est ita, quis me potest arguere esse mentitum,/ et ponere ante Deum verba mea ?] (Ⅴ)
