Imagines-tu avoir raison, Penses-tu te justifier devant Dieu,
- Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's? (Ⅱ) - τί του̃το ἡγήσω ἐν κρίσει σὺ τίς εἰ̃ ὅτι εἰ̃πας δίκαιός εἰμι ἔναντι κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Numquid æqua tibi videtur tua cogitatio,/ ut diceres : Justior sum Deo ?/ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃35 הזאת חשבת למשפט אמרת צדקי מאל (Ⅴ)

Quand tu dis: Que me sert-il, Que me revient-il de ne pas pécher?
- For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin? (Ⅱ) - ἢ ἐρει̃ς τί ποιήσω ἁμαρτών (Ⅲ) - Dixisti enim : Non tibi placet quod rectum est :/ vel quid tibi proderit, si ego peccavero ?/ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃35 כי תאמר מה יסכן לך מה אעיל מחטאתי (Ⅴ)

C'est à toi que je vais répondre, Et à tes amis en même temps.
- I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee. (Ⅱ) - ἐγὼ σοὶ δώσω ἀπόκρισιν καὶ τοι̃ς τρισὶν φίλοις σου (Ⅲ) - Itaque ego respondebo sermonibus tuis,/ et amicis tuis tecum./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃35 אני אשיבך מלין ואת רעיך עמך (Ⅴ)

Considère les cieux, et regarde! Vois les nuées, comme elles sont au-dessus de toi!
- Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou. (Ⅱ) - ἀνάβλεψον εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἰδέ κατάμαθε δὲ νέφη ὡς ὑψηλὰ ἀπὸ σου̃ (Ⅲ) - Suspice cælum, et intuere :/ et contemplare æthera quod altior te sit./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃35 הבט שמים וראה ושור שחקים גבהו ממך (Ⅴ)

Si tu pèches, quel tort lui causes-tu? Et quand tes péchés se multiplient, que lui fais-tu?
- If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him? (Ⅱ) - εἰ ἥμαρτες τί πράξεις εἰ δὲ καὶ πολλὰ ἠνόμησας τί δύνασαι ποιη̃σαι (Ⅲ) - Si peccaveris, quid ei nocebis ?/ et si multiplicatæ fuerint iniquitates tuæ, quid facies contra eum ?/ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃35 אם חטאת מה תפעל בו ורבו פשעיך מה תעשה לו (Ⅴ)

Si tu es juste, que lui donnes-tu? Que reçoit-il de ta main?
- If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand? (Ⅱ) - ἐπεὶ δὲ οὐ̃ν δίκαιος εἰ̃ τί δώσεις αὐτω̨̃ ἢ τί ἐκ χειρός σου λήμψεται (Ⅲ) - Porro si juste egeris, quid donabis ei ?/ aut quid de manu tua accipiet ?/ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃35 אם צדקת מה תתן לו או מה מידך יקח (Ⅴ)

Ta méchanceté ne peut nuire qu'à ton semblable, Ta justice n'est utile qu'au fils de l'homme.
- Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man. (Ⅱ) - ἀνδρὶ τω̨̃ ὁμοίω̨ σου ἡ ἀσέβειά σου καὶ υἱω̨̃ ἀνθρώπου ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου (Ⅲ) - Homini qui similis tui est, nocebit impietas tua :/ et filium hominis adjuvabit justitia tua./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃35 לאיש כמוך רשעך ולבן אדם צדקתך (Ⅴ)

On crie contre la multitude des oppresseurs, On se plaint de la violence d'un grand nombre;
- By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty. (Ⅱ) - ἀπὸ πλήθους συκοφαντούμενοι κεκράξονται βοήσονται ἀπὸ βραχίονος πολλω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Propter multitudinem calumniatorum clamabunt,/ et ejulabunt propter vim brachii tyrannorum./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃35 מרב עשוקים יזעיקו ישועו מזרוע רבים (Ⅴ)

Mais nul ne dit: Où est Dieu, mon créateur, Qui inspire des chants d'allégresse pendant la nuit,
- But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night; (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐκ εἰ̃πεν που̃ ἐστιν ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιήσας με ὁ κατατάσσων φυλακὰς νυκτερινάς (Ⅲ) - Et non dixit : Ubi est Deus qui fecit me,/ qui dedit carmina in nocte ;/ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃35 ולא אמר איה אלוה עשי נתן זמרות בלילה (Ⅴ)

Qui nous instruit plus que les bêtes de la terre, Et nous donne l'intelligence plus qu'aux oiseaux du ciel?
- Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven? (Ⅱ) - ὁ διορίζων με ἀπὸ τετραπόδων γη̃ς ἀπὸ δὲ πετεινω̃ν οὐρανου̃ (Ⅲ) - qui docet nos super jumenta terræ,/ et super volucres cæli erudit nos ?/ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃35 מלפנו מבהמות ארץ ומעוף השמים יחכמנו (Ⅴ)

On a beau crier alors, Dieu ne répond pas, A cause de l'orgueil des méchants.
- There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men. (Ⅱ) - ἐκει̃ κεκράξονται καὶ οὐ μὴ εἰσακούση̨ καὶ ἀπὸ ὕβρεως πονηρω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Ibi clamabunt, et non exaudiet,/ propter superbiam malorum./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃35 שם יצעקו ולא יענה מפני גאון רעים (Ⅴ)

C'est en vain que l'on crie, Dieu n'écoute pas, Le Tout Puissant n'y a point égard.
- Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it. (Ⅱ) - ἄτοπα γὰρ οὐ βούλεται ὁ κύριος ἰδει̃ν αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὁρατής ἐστιν (Ⅲ) - Non ergo frustra audiet Deus,/ et Omnipotens causas singulorum intuebitur./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃35 אך שוא לא ישמע אל ושדי לא ישורנה (Ⅴ)

Bien que tu dises que tu ne le vois pas, Ta cause est devant lui: attends-le!
- Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him. (Ⅱ) - τω̃ν συντελούντων τὰ ἄνομα καὶ σώσει με κρίθητι δὲ ἐναντίον αὐτου̃ εἰ δύνασαι αἰνέσαι αὐτόν ὡς ἔστιν (Ⅲ) - Etiam cum dixeris : Non considerat :/ judicare coram illo, et expecta eum./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃35 אף כי תאמר[c] לא תשורנו דין לפניו ותחולל לו (Ⅴ)

Mais, parce que sa colère ne sévit point encore, Ce n'est pas à dire qu'il ait peu souci du crime.
- But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity: (Ⅱ) - καὶ νυ̃ν ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἐπισκεπτόμενος ὀργὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἔγνω παραπτώματι σφόδρα (Ⅲ) - Nunc enim non infert furorem suum,/ nec ulciscitur scelus valde./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃35 ועתה כי אין פקד אפו ולא ידע בפש מאד (Ⅴ)

Ainsi Job ouvre vainement la bouche, Il multiplie les paroles sans intelligence.
- Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Ιωβ ματαίως ἀνοίγει τὸ στόμα αὐτου̃ ἐν ἀγνωσία̨ ῥήματα βαρύνει (Ⅲ) - Ergo Job frustra aperit os suum,/ et absque scientia verba multiplicat.] (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃35 ואיוב הבל יפצה פיהו בבלי דעת מלין יכבר פ (Ⅴ)
