1 ׃39 הידעת עת לדת יעלי סלע חלל אילות תשמר
- Sais-tu quand les chèvres sauvages font leurs petits? Observes-tu les biches quand elles mettent bas? (Ⅱ) - Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve? (Ⅲ) - εἰ ἔγνως καιρὸν τοκετου̃ τραγελάφων πέτρας ἐφύλαξας δὲ ὠδι̃νας ἐλάφων (Ⅳ) - Numquid nosti tempus partus ibicum in petris,/ vel parturientes cervas observasti ?/ (Ⅴ)

2 ׃39 תספר ירחים תמלאנה וידעת עת לדתנה
- Comptes-tu les mois pendant lesquels elles portent, Et connais-tu l'époque où elles enfantent? (Ⅱ) - Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth? (Ⅲ) - ἠρίθμησας δὲ αὐτω̃ν μη̃νας πλήρεις τοκετου̃ ὠδι̃νας δὲ αὐτω̃ν ἔλυσας (Ⅳ) - Dinumerasti menses conceptus earum,/ et scisti tempus partus earum ?/ (Ⅴ)

3 ׃39 תכרענה ילדיהן תפלחנה חבליהם תשלחנה
- Elles se courbent, laissent échapper leur progéniture, Et sont délivrées de leurs douleurs. (Ⅱ) - They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows. (Ⅲ) - ἐξέθρεψας δὲ αὐτω̃ν τὰ παιδία ἔξω φόβου ὠδι̃νας αὐτω̃ν ἐξαποστελει̃ς (Ⅳ) - Incurvantur ad fœtum, et pariunt,/ et rugitus emittunt./ (Ⅴ)

4 ׃39 יחלמו בניהם ירבו בבר יצאו ולא שבו למו
- Leurs petits prennent de la vigueur et grandissent en plein air, Ils s'éloignent et ne reviennent plus auprès d'elles. (Ⅱ) - Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them. (Ⅲ) - ἀπορρήξουσιν τὰ τέκνα αὐτω̃ν πληθυνθήσονται ἐν γενήματι ἐξελεύσονται καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀνακάμψουσιν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅳ) - Separantur filii earum, et pergunt ad pastum :/ egrediuntur, et non revertuntur ad eas./ (Ⅴ)

5 ׃39 מי שלח פרא חפשי ומסרות ערוד מי פתח
- Qui met en liberté l'âne sauvage, Et l'affranchit de tout lien? (Ⅱ) - Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass? (Ⅲ) - τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ ἀφεὶς ὄνον ἄγριον ἐλεύθερον δεσμοὺς δὲ αὐτου̃ τίς ἔλυσεν (Ⅳ) - Quis dimisit onagrum liberum,/ et vincula ejus quis solvit ?/ (Ⅴ)

6 ׃39 אשר שמתי ערבה ביתו ומשכנותיו מלחה
- J'ai fait du désert son habitation, De la terre salée sa demeure. (Ⅱ) - Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings. (Ⅲ) - ἐθέμην δὲ τὴν δίαιταν αὐτου̃ ἔρημον καὶ τὰ σκηνώματα αὐτου̃ ἁλμυρίδα (Ⅳ) - cui dedi in solitudine domum,/ et tabernacula ejus in terra salsuginis./ (Ⅴ)

7 ׃39 ישחק להמון קריה תשאות נוגש לא ישמע
- Il se rit du tumulte des villes, Il n'entend pas les cris d'un maître. (Ⅱ) - He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver. (Ⅲ) - καταγελω̃ν πολυοχλίας πόλεως μέμψιν δὲ φορολόγου οὐκ ἀκούων (Ⅳ) - Contemnit multitudinem civitatis :/ clamorem exactoris non audit./ (Ⅴ)

8 ׃39 יתור הרים מרעהו ואחר כל ירוק ידרוש
- Il parcourt les montagnes pour trouver sa pâture, Il est à la recherche de tout ce qui est vert. (Ⅱ) - The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing. (Ⅲ) - κατασκέψεται ὄρη νομὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ ὀπίσω παντὸς χλωρου̃ ζητει̃ (Ⅳ) - Circumspicit montes pascuæ suæ,/ et virentia quæque perquirit./ (Ⅴ)

9 ׃39 היאבה רים[1] עבדך אם ילין על אבוסך
- Le buffle veut-il être à ton service? Passe-t-il la nuit vers ta crèche? (Ⅱ) - Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? (Ⅲ) - βουλήσεται δέ σοι μονόκερως δουλευ̃σαι ἢ κοιμηθη̃ναι ἐπὶ φάτνης σου (Ⅳ) - Numquid volet rhinoceros servire tibi,/ aut morabitur ad præsepe tuum ?/ (Ⅴ)

10 ׃39 התקשר רים בתלם עבתו אם ישדד עמקים אחריך
- L'attaches-tu par une corde pour qu'il trace un sillon? Va-t-il après toi briser les mottes des vallées? (Ⅱ) - Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee? (Ⅲ) - δήσεις δὲ ἐν ἱμα̃σι ζυγὸν αὐτου̃ ἢ ἑλκύσει σου αὔλακας ἐν πεδίω̨ (Ⅳ) - Numquid alligabis rhinocerota ad arandum loro tuo,/ aut confringet glebas vallium post te ?/ (Ⅴ)

11 ׃39 התבטח בו[c] כי רב כחו ותעזב אליו יגיעך
- Te reposes-tu sur lui, parce que sa force est grande? Lui abandonnes-tu le soin de tes travaux? (Ⅱ) - Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him? (Ⅲ) - πέποιθας δὲ ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ ὅτι πολλὴ ἡ ἰσχὺς αὐτου̃ ἐπαφήσεις δὲ αὐτω̨̃ τὰ ἔργα σου (Ⅳ) - Numquid fiduciam habebis in magna fortitudine ejus,/ et derelinques ei labores tuos ?/ (Ⅴ)

12 ׃39 התאמין בו[c] כי *ישוב **ישיב זרעך וגרנך יאסף
- Te fies-tu à lui pour la rentrée de ta récolte? Est-ce lui qui doit l'amasser dans ton aire? (Ⅱ) - Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn? (Ⅲ) - πιστεύσεις δὲ ὅτι ἀποδώσει σοι τὸν σπόρον εἰσοίσει δέ σου τὸν ἅλωνα (Ⅳ) - Numquid credes illi quod sementem reddat tibi,/ et aream tuam congreget ?/ (Ⅴ)

13 ׃39 כנף רננים נעלסה אם אברה חסידה ונצה
- L'aile de l'autruche se déploie joyeuse; On dirait l'aile, le plumage de la cigogne. (Ⅱ) - Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich? (Ⅲ) - πτέρυξ τερπομένων νεελασα ἐὰν συλλάβη̨ ασιδα καὶ νεσσα (Ⅳ) - Penna struthionis similis est/ pennis herodii et accipitris./ (Ⅴ)

14 ׃39 כי תעזב לארץ בציה ועל עפר תחמם
- Mais l'autruche abandonne ses oeufs à la terre, Et les fait chauffer sur la poussière; (Ⅱ) - Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust, (Ⅲ) - ὅτι ἀφήσει εἰς γη̃ν τὰ ὠ̨ὰ αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐπὶ χου̃ν θάλψει (Ⅳ) - Quando derelinquit ova sua in terra,/ tu forsitan in pulvere calefacies ea ?/ (Ⅴ)

15 ׃39 ותשכח כי רגל תזורה וחית השדה תדושה
- Elle oublie que le pied peut les écraser, Qu'une bête des champs peut les fouler. (Ⅱ) - And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐπελάθετο ὅτι ποὺς σκορπιει̃ καὶ θηρία ἀγρου̃ καταπατήσει (Ⅳ) - Obliviscitur quod pes conculcet ea,/ aut bestia agri conterat./ (Ⅴ)

16 ׃39 הקשיח בניה ללא לה לריק יגיעה בלי פחד
- Elle est dure envers ses petits comme s'ils n'étaient point à elle; Elle ne s'inquiète pas de l'inutilité de son enfantement. (Ⅱ) - She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her's: her labour is in vain without fear; (Ⅲ) - ἀπεσκλήρυνεν τὰ τέκνα αὐτη̃ς ὥστε μὴ ἑαυτη̨̃ εἰς κενὸν ἐκοπίασεν ἄνευ φόβου (Ⅳ) - Duratur ad filios suos, quasi non sint sui :/ frustra laboravit, nullo timore cogente./ (Ⅴ)

17 ׃39 כי השה אלוה חכמה ולא חלק לה בבינה
- Car Dieu lui a refusé la sagesse, Il ne lui a pas donné l'intelligence en partage. (Ⅱ) - Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι κατεσιώπησεν αὐτη̨̃ ὁ θεὸς σοφίαν καὶ οὐκ ἐμέρισεν αὐτη̨̃ ἐν τη̨̃ συνέσει (Ⅳ) - Privavit enim eam Deus sapientia,/ nec dedit illi intelligentiam./ (Ⅴ)

18 ׃39 כעת במרום תמריא תשחק לסוס ולרכבו
- Quand elle se lève et prend sa course, Elle se rit du cheval et de son cavalier. (Ⅱ) - What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider. (Ⅲ) - κατὰ καιρὸν ἐν ὕψει ὑψώσει καταγελάσεται ἵππου καὶ του̃ ἐπιβάτου αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - Cum tempus fuerit, in altum alas erigit :/ deridet equum et ascensorem ejus./ (Ⅴ)

19 ׃39 התתן לסוס גבורה התלביש צוארו רעמה
- Est-ce toi qui donnes la vigueur au cheval, Et qui revêts son cou d'une crinière flottante? (Ⅱ) - Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder? (Ⅲ) - ἠ̃ σὺ περιέθηκας ἵππω̨ δύναμιν ἐνέδυσας δὲ τραχήλω̨ αὐτου̃ φόβον (Ⅳ) - Numquid præbebis equo fortitudinem,/ aut circumdabis collo ejus hinnitum ?/ (Ⅴ)

20 ׃39 התרעישנו כארבה הוד נחרו אימה
- Le fais-tu bondir comme la sauterelle? Son fier hennissement répand la terreur. (Ⅱ) - Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible. (Ⅲ) - περιέθηκας δὲ αὐτω̨̃ πανοπλίαν δόξαν δὲ στηθέων αὐτου̃ τόλμη̨ (Ⅳ) - Numquid suscitabis eum quasi locustas ?/ gloria narium ejus terror./ (Ⅴ)

21 ׃39 יחפרו בעמק וישיש בכח יצא לקראת נשק
- Il creuse le sol et se réjouit de sa force, Il s'élance au-devant des armes; (Ⅱ) - He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men. (Ⅲ) - ἀνορύσσων ἐν πεδίω̨ γαυρια̨̃ ἐκπορεύεται δὲ εἰς πεδίον ἐν ἰσχύι (Ⅳ) - Terram ungula fodit ; exultat audacter :/ in occursum pergit armatis./ (Ⅴ)

22 ׃39 ישחק לפחד ולא יחת ולא ישוב מפני חרב
- Il se rit de la crainte, il n'a pas peur, Il ne recule pas en face de l'épée. (Ⅱ) - He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword. (Ⅲ) - συναντω̃ν βέλει καταγελα̨̃ καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποστραφη̨̃ ἀπὸ σιδήρου (Ⅳ) - Contemnit pavorem,/ nec cedit gladio./ (Ⅴ)

23 ׃39 עליו תרנה אשפה להב חנית וכידון
- Sur lui retentit le carquois, Brillent la lance et le javelot. (Ⅱ) - The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield. (Ⅲ) - ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ γαυρια̨̃ τόξον καὶ μάχαιρα (Ⅳ) - Super ipsum sonabit pharetra ;/ vibrabit hasta et clypeus :/ (Ⅴ)

24 ׃39 ברעש ורגז יגמא ארץ ולא יאמין כי קול שופר
- Bouillonnant d'ardeur, il dévore la terre, Il ne peut se contenir au bruit de la trompette. (Ⅱ) - He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ὀργη̨̃ ἀφανιει̃ τὴν γη̃ν καὶ οὐ μὴ πιστεύση̨ ἕως ἂν σημάνη̨ σάλπιγξ (Ⅳ) - fervens et fremens sorbet terram,/ nec reputat tubæ sonare clangorem./ (Ⅴ)

25 ׃39 בדי שפר יאמר האח ומרחוק יריח מלחמה רעם שרים ותרועה
- Quand la trompette sonne, il dit: En avant! Et de loin il flaire la bataille, La voix tonnante des chefs et les cris de guerre. (Ⅱ) - He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting. (Ⅲ) - σάλπιγγος δὲ σημαινούσης λέγει εὐ̃γε πόρρωθεν δὲ ὀσφραίνεται πολέμου σὺν ἅλματι καὶ κραυγη̨̃ (Ⅳ) - Ubi audierit buccinam, dicit : Vah !/ procul odoratur bellum :/ exhortationem ducum, et ululatum exercitus./ (Ⅴ)

26 ׃39 המבינתך יאבר נץ יפרש *כנפו **כנפיו לתימן
- Est-ce par ton intelligence que l'épervier prend son vol, Et qu'il étend ses ailes vers le midi? (Ⅱ) - Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south? (Ⅲ) - ἐκ δὲ τη̃ς ση̃ς ἐπιστήμης ἕστηκεν ἱέραξ ἀναπετάσας τὰς πτέρυγας ἀκίνητος καθορω̃ν τὰ πρὸς νότον (Ⅳ) - Numquid per sapientiam tuam plumescit accipiter,/ expandens alas suas ad austrum ?/ (Ⅴ)

27 ׃39 אם על פיך יגביה נשר וכי ירים קנו
- Est-ce par ton ordre que l'aigle s'élève, Et qu'il place son nid sur les hauteurs? (Ⅱ) - Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high? (Ⅲ) - ἐπὶ δὲ σω̨̃ προστάγματι ὑψου̃ται ἀετός γὺψ δὲ ἐπὶ νοσσια̃ς αὐτου̃ καθεσθεὶς αὐλίζεται (Ⅳ) - Numquid ad præceptum tuum elevabitur aquila,/ et in arduis ponet nidum suum ?/ (Ⅴ)

28 ׃39 סלע ישכן ויתלנן על שן סלע ומצודה
- C'est dans les rochers qu'il habite, qu'il a sa demeure, Sur la cime des rochers, sur le sommet des monts. (Ⅱ) - She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place. (Ⅲ) - ἐπ' ἐξοχη̨̃ πέτρας καὶ ἀποκρύφω̨ (Ⅳ) - In petris manet,/ et in præruptis silicibus commoratur,/ atque inaccessis rupibus./ (Ⅴ)

29 ׃39 משם חפר אכל למרחוק עיניו יביטו
- De là il épie sa proie, Il plonge au loin les regards. (Ⅱ) - From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off. (Ⅲ) - ἐκει̃σε ὢν ζητει̃ τὰ σι̃τα πόρρωθεν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτου̃ σκοπεύουσιν (Ⅳ) - Inde contemplatur escam,/ et de longe oculi ejus prospiciunt./ (Ⅴ)

30 ׃39 *ואפרחו **ואפרחיו יעלעו דם ובאשר חללים שם הוא פ
- Ses petits boivent le sang; Et là où sont des cadavres, l'aigle se trouve. (Ⅱ) - Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she. (Ⅲ) - νεοσσοὶ δὲ αὐτου̃ φύρονται ἐν αἵματι οὑ̃ δ' ἂν ὠ̃σι τεθνεω̃τες παραχρη̃μα εὑρίσκονται (Ⅳ) - Pulli ejus lambent sanguinem :/ et ubicumque cadaver fuerit, statim adest.] (Ⅴ)
