42. 1  
ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ιωβ λέγει τω̨̃ κυρίω̨
- Job répondit à l'Éternel et dit: (Ⅱ)
- Then Job answered the LORD, and said, (Ⅲ)
- Respondens autem Job Domino, dixit : (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 1  ׃42  ויען איוב את יהוה ויאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 2  
οἰ̃δα ὅτι πάντα δύνασαι ἀδυνατει̃ δέ σοι οὐθέν
- Je reconnais que tu peux tout, Et que rien ne s'oppose à tes pensées. (Ⅱ)
- I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee. (Ⅲ)
- Scio quia omnia potes,/ et nulla te latet cogitatio./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 2  ׃42  *ידעת **ידעתי כי כל תוכל ולא יבצר ממך מזמה ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 3  
τίς γάρ ἐστιν ὁ κρύπτων σε βουλήν φειδόμενος δὲ ῥημάτων καὶ σὲ οἴεται κρύπτειν τίς δὲ ἀναγγελει̃ μοι ἃ οὐκ ἤ̨δειν μεγάλα καὶ θαυμαστὰ ἃ οὐκ ἠπιστάμην
- Quel est celui qui a la folie d'obscurcir mes desseins? -Oui, j'ai parlé, sans les comprendre, De merveilles qui me dépassent et que je ne conçois pas. (Ⅱ)
- Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. (Ⅲ)
- Quis est iste qui celat consilium absque scientia ?/ ideo insipienter locutus sum,/ et quæ ultra modum excederent scientiam meam./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 3  ׃42  מי זה מעלים עצה בלי דעת לכן הגדתי ולא אבין נפלאות ממני ולא אדע ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 4  
ἄκουσον δέ μου κύριε ἵνα κἀγὼ λαλήσω ἐρωτήσω δέ σε σὺ δέ με δίδαξον
- Écoute-moi, et je parlerai; Je t'interrogerai, et tu m'instruiras. (Ⅱ)
- Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. (Ⅲ)
- Audi, et ego loquar :/ interrogabo te, et responde mihi./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 4  ׃42  שמע נא ואנכי אדבר אשאלך והודיעני ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 5  
ἀκοὴν μὲν ὠτὸς ἤκουόν σου τὸ πρότερον νυνὶ δὲ ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου ἑόρακέν σε
- Mon oreille avait entendu parler de toi; Mais maintenant mon oeil t'a vu. (Ⅱ)
- I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. (Ⅲ)
- Auditu auris audivi te :/ nunc autem oculus meus videt te./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 5  ׃42  לשמע אזן שמעתיך ועתה עיני ראתך ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 6  
διὸ ἐφαύλισα ἐμαυτὸν καὶ ἐτάκην ἥγημαι δὲ ἐμαυτὸν γη̃ν καὶ σποδόν
- C'est pourquoi je me condamne et je me repens Sur la poussière et sur la cendre. (Ⅱ)
- Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. (Ⅲ)
- Idcirco ipse me reprehendo,/ et ago pœnitentiam in favilla et cinere.]\ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 6  ׃42  על כן אמאס ונחמתי על עפר ואפר פ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 7  
ἐγένετο δὲ μετὰ τὸ λαλη̃σαι τὸν κύριον πάντα τὰ ῥήματα ταυ̃τα τω̨̃ Ιωβ εἰ̃πεν ὁ κύριος Ελιφας τω̨̃ Θαιμανίτη̨ ἥμαρτες σὺ καὶ οἱ δύο φίλοι σου οὐ γὰρ ἐλαλήσατε ἐνώπιόν μου ἀληθὲς οὐδὲν ὥσπερ ὁ θεράπων μου Ιωβ
- Après que l'Éternel eut adressé ces paroles à Job, il dit à Éliphaz de Théman: Ma colère est enflammée contre toi et contre tes deux amis, parce que vous n'avez pas parlé de moi avec droiture comme l'a fait mon serviteur Job. (Ⅱ)
- And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. (Ⅲ)
- Postquam autem locutus est Dominus verba hæc ad Job, dixit ad Eliphaz Themanitem : Iratus est furor meus in te, et in duos amicos tuos, quoniam non estis locuti coram me rectum, sicut servus meus Job. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 7  ׃42  ויהי אחר דבר יהוה את הדברים האלה אל איוב ויאמר יהוה אל אליפז התימני חרה אפי בך ובשני רעיך כי לא דברתם אלי נכונה כעבדי איוב ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 8  
νυ̃ν δὲ λάβετε ἑπτὰ μόσχους καὶ ἑπτὰ κριοὺς καὶ πορεύθητε πρὸς τὸν θεράποντά μου Ιωβ καὶ ποιήσει κάρπωσιν περὶ ὑμω̃ν Ιωβ δὲ ὁ θεράπων μου εὔξεται περὶ ὑμω̃ν ὅτι εἰ μὴ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ λήμψομαι εἰ μὴ γὰρ δι' αὐτόν ἀπώλεσα ἂν ὑμα̃ς οὐ γὰρ ἐλαλήσατε ἀληθὲς κατὰ του̃ θεράποντός μου Ιωβ
- Prenez maintenant sept taureaux et sept béliers, allez auprès de mon serviteur Job, et offrez pour vous un holocauste. Job, mon serviteur, priera pour vous, et c'est par égard pour lui seul que je ne vous traiterai pas selon votre folie; car vous n'avez pas parlé de moi avec droiture, comme l'a fait mon serviteur Job. (Ⅱ)
- Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job. (Ⅲ)
- Sumite ergo vobis septem tauros et septem arietes, et ite ad servum meum Job, et offerte holocaustum pro vobis : Job autem servus meus orabit pro vobis. Faciem ejus suscipiam, ut non vobis imputetur stultitia : neque enim locuti estis ad me recta, sicut servus meus Job. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 8  ׃42  ועתה קחו לכם שבעה פרים ושבעה אילים ולכו אל עבדי איוב והעליתם עולה בעדכם ואיוב עבדי יתפלל עליכם כי אם פניו אשא לבלתי עשות עמכם נבלה כי לא דברתם אלי נכונה כעבדי איוב ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 9  
ἐπορεύθη δὲ Ελιφας ὁ Θαιμανίτης καὶ Βαλδαδ ὁ Σαυχίτης καὶ Σωφαρ ὁ Μιναι̃ος καὶ ἐποίησαν καθὼς συνέταξεν αὐτοι̃ς ὁ κύριος καὶ ἔλυσεν τὴν ἁμαρτίαν αὐτοι̃ς διὰ Ιωβ
- Éliphaz de Théman, Bildad de Schuach, et Tsophar de Naama allèrent et firent comme l'Éternel leur avait dit: et l'Éternel eut égard à la prière de Job. (Ⅱ)
- So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job. (Ⅲ)
- Abierunt ergo Eliphaz Themanites, et Baldad Suhites, et Sophar Naamathites, et fecerunt sicut locutus fuerat Dominus ad eos : et suscepit Dominus faciem Job. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 9  ׃42  וילכו אליפז התימני ובלדד השוחי צפר הנעמתי ויעשו כאשר דבר אליהם יהוה וישא יהוה את פני איוב ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 10  
ὁ δὲ κύριος ηὔξησεν τὸν Ιωβ εὐξαμένου δὲ αὐτου̃ καὶ περὶ τω̃ν φίλων αὐτου̃ ἀφη̃κεν αὐτοι̃ς τὴν ἁμαρτίαν ἔδωκεν δὲ ὁ κύριος διπλα̃ ὅσα ἠ̃ν ἔμπροσθεν Ιωβ εἰς διπλασιασμόν
- L'Éternel rétablit Job dans son premier état, quand Job eut prié pour ses amis; et l'Éternel lui accorda le double de tout ce qu'il avait possédé. (Ⅱ)
- And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. (Ⅲ)
- Dominus quoque conversus est ad pœnitentiam Job, cum oraret ille pro amicis suis : et addidit Dominus omnia quæcumque fuerant Job, duplicia. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 10 ׃42  ויהוה שב את *שבית **שבות איוב בהתפללו בעד רעהו ויסף יהוה את כל אשר לאיוב למשנה ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 11  
ἤκουσαν δὲ πάντες οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτου̃ καὶ αἱ ἀδελφαὶ αὐτου̃ πάντα τὰ συμβεβηκότα αὐτω̨̃ καὶ ἠ̃λθον πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ πάντες ὅσοι ἤ̨δεισαν αὐτὸν ἐκ πρώτου φαγόντες δὲ καὶ πιόντες παρ' αὐτω̨̃ παρεκάλεσαν αὐτόν καὶ ἐθαύμασαν ἐπὶ πα̃σιν οἱ̃ς ἐπήγαγεν αὐτω̨̃ ὁ κύριος ἔδωκεν δὲ αὐτω̨̃ ἕκαστος ἀμνάδα μίαν καὶ τετράδραχμον χρυσου̃ν ἄσημον
- Les frères, les soeurs, et les anciens amis de Job vinrent tous le visiter, et ils mangèrent avec lui dans sa maison. Ils le plaignirent et le consolèrent de tous les malheurs que l'Éternel avait fait venir sur lui, et chacun lui donna un kesita et un anneau d'or. (Ⅱ)
- Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold. (Ⅲ)
- Venerunt autem ad eum omnes fratres sui, et universæ sorores suæ, et cuncti qui noverant eum prius, et comederunt cum eo panem in domo ejus : et moverunt super eum caput, et consolati sunt eum super omni malo quod intulerat Dominus super eum : et dederunt ei unusquisque ovem unam, et inaurem auream unam. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 11 ׃42  ויבאו אליו כל אחיו וכל *אחיתיו **אחיותיו וכל ידעיו לפנים ויאכלו עמו לחם בביתו וינדו לו וינחמו אתו על כל הרעה אשר הביא יהוה עליו ויתנו לו איש קשיטה אחת ואיש נזם זהב אחד ס‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 12  
ὁ δὲ κύριος εὐλόγησεν τὰ ἔσχατα Ιωβ ἢ τὰ ἔμπροσθεν ἠ̃ν δὲ τὰ κτήνη αὐτου̃ πρόβατα μύρια τετρακισχίλια κάμηλοι ἑξακισχίλιαι ζεύγη βοω̃ν χίλια ὄνοι θήλειαι νομάδες χίλιαι
- Pendant ses dernières années, Job reçut de l'Éternel plus de bénédictions qu'il n'en avait reçu dans les premières. Il posséda quatorze mille brebis, six mille chameaux, mille paires de boeufs, et mille ânesses. (Ⅱ)
- So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. (Ⅲ)
- Dominus autem benedixit novissimis Job magis quam principio ejus : et facta sunt ei quatuordecim millia ovium, et sex millia camelorum, et mille juga boum, et mille asinæ. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 12 ׃42  ויהוה ברך את אחרית איוב מראשתו ויהי לו ארבעה עשר אלף צאן וששת אלפים גמלים ואלף צמד בקר ואלף אתונות ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 13  
γεννω̃νται δὲ αὐτω̨̃ υἱοὶ ἑπτὰ καὶ θυγατέρες τρει̃ς
- Il eut sept fils et trois filles: (Ⅱ)
- He had also seven sons and three daughters. (Ⅲ)
- Et fuerunt ei septem filii, et tres filiæ. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 13 ׃42  ויהי לו שבענה בנים ושלוש בנות ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 14  
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὴν μὲν πρώτην 'Ημέραν τὴν δὲ δευτέραν Κασίαν τὴν δὲ τρίτην 'Αμαλθείας κέρας
- il donna à la première le nom de Jemima, à la seconde celui de Ketsia, et à la troisième celui de Kéren Happuc. (Ⅱ)
- And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch. (Ⅲ)
- Et vocavit nomen unius Diem, et nomen secundæ Cassiam, et nomen tertiæ Cornustibii. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 14 ׃42  ויקרא שם האחת ימימה ושם השנית קציעה ושם השלישית קרן הפוך ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 15  
καὶ οὐχ εὑρέθησαν κατὰ τὰς θυγατέρας Ιωβ βελτίους αὐτω̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ ὑπ' οὐρανόν ἔδωκεν δὲ αὐται̃ς ὁ πατὴρ κληρονομίαν ἐν τοι̃ς ἀδελφοι̃ς
- Il n'y avait pas dans tout le pays d'aussi belles femmes que les filles de Job. Leur père leur accorda une part d'héritage parmi leurs frères. (Ⅱ)
- And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. (Ⅲ)
- Non sunt autem inventæ mulieres speciosæ sicut filiæ Job in universa terra : deditque eis pater suus hæreditatem inter fratres earum. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 15 ׃42  ולא נמצא נשים יפות כבנות איוב בכל הארץ ויתן להם אביהם נחלה בתוך אחיהם ס‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 16  
ἔζησεν δὲ Ιωβ μετὰ τὴν πληγὴν ἔτη ἑκατὸν ἑβδομήκοντα τὰ δὲ πάντα ἔζησεν ἔτη διακόσια τεσσαράκοντα ὀκτώ καὶ εἰ̃δεν Ιωβ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτου̃ καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τω̃ν υἱω̃ν αὐτου̃ τετάρτην γενεάν
- Job vécut après cela cent quarante ans, et il vit ses fils et les fils de ses fils jusqu'à la quatrième génération. (Ⅱ)
- After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations. (Ⅲ)
- Vixit autem Job post hæc centum quadraginta annis, et vidit filios suos, et filios filiorum suorum usque ad quartam generationem : (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 16 ׃42  ויחי איוב אחרי זאת מאה וארבעים שנה *וירא **ויראה את בניו ואת בני בניו ארבעה דרות ‬ (Ⅴ)
42. 17  
καὶ ἐτελεύτησεν Ιωβ πρεσβύτερος καὶ πλήρης ἡμερω̃ν
- Et Job mourut âgé et rassasié de jours. (Ⅱ)
- So Job died, being old and full of days. (Ⅲ)
- et mortuus est senex, et plenus dierum. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 17 ׃42  וימת איוב זקן ושבע ימים ‬ (Ⅴ)
