O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

(Ⅱ) - ἐπλανήθησαν ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ἐν ἀνύδρω̨ ὁδὸν πόλεως κατοικητηρίου οὐχ εὑ̃ρον (Ⅲ) - Erraverunt in solitudine, in inaquoso ;/ viam civitatis habitaculi non invenerunt./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃107 תעו במדבר בישימון דרך עיר מושב לא מצאו (Ⅴ)

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
- Dans leur détresse, ils crièrent à l'Éternel, Et il les délivra de leurs angoisses; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκέκραξαν πρὸς κύριον ἐν τω̨̃ θλίβεσθαι αὐτούς καὶ ἐκ τω̃ν ἀναγκω̃ν αὐτω̃ν ἐρρύσατο αὐτοὺς (Ⅲ) - Et clamaverunt ad Dominum cum tribularentur,/ et de necessitatibus eorum eripuit eos ;/ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃107 ויצעקו אל יהוה בצר להם ממצוקותיהם יצילם (Ⅴ)

And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;
- Ceux qui avaient pour demeure les ténèbres et l'ombre de la mort Vivaient captifs dans la misère et dans les chaînes, (Ⅱ) - καθημένους ἐν σκότει καὶ σκια̨̃ θανάτου πεπεδημένους ἐν πτωχεία̨ καὶ σιδήρω̨ (Ⅲ) - Sedentes in tenebris et umbra mortis ;/ vinctos in mendicitate et ferro./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃107 ישבי חשך וצלמות אסירי עני וברזל (Ⅴ)

Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
- Parce qu'ils s'étaient révoltés contre les paroles de Dieu, Parce qu'ils avaient méprisé le conseil du Très Haut. Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

(Ⅱ) - καὶ θυσάτωσαν θυσίαν αἰνέσεως καὶ ἐξαγγειλάτωσαν τὰ ἔργα αὐτου̃ ἐν ἀγαλλιάσει (Ⅲ) - Et sacrificent sacrificium laudis,/ et annuntient opera ejus in exsultatione./ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃107 ויזבחו זבחי תודה ויספרו מעשיו ברנה [8]׆ (Ⅴ)

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
- Ceux qui étaient descendus sur la mer dans des navires, Et qui travaillaient sur les grandes eaux, (Ⅱ) - οἱ καταβαίνοντες εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν ἐν πλοίοις ποιου̃ντες ἐργασίαν ἐν ὕδασι πολλοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - Qui descendunt mare in navibus,/ facientes operationem in aquis multis :/ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃107 יורדי הים באניות עשי מלאכה במים רבים [8]׆ (Ⅴ)

These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
- Ceux-là virent les oeuvres de l'Éternel Et ses merveilles au milieu de l'abîme. (Ⅱ) - αὐτοὶ εἴδοσαν τὰ ἔργα κυρίου καὶ τὰ θαυμάσια αὐτου̃ ἐν τω̨̃ βυθω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - ipsi viderunt opera Domini,/ et mirabilia ejus in profundo./ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃107 המה ראו מעשי יהוה ונפלאותיו במצולה [8]׆ (Ⅴ)

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
- Il dit, et il fit souffler la tempête, Qui souleva les flots de la mer. (Ⅱ) - εἰ̃πεν καὶ ἔστη πνευ̃μα καταιγίδος καὶ ὑψώθη τὰ κύματα αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Dixit, et stetit spiritus procellæ,/ et exaltati sunt fluctus ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃107 ויאמר ויעמד רוח סערה ותרומם גליו [8]׆ (Ⅴ)

They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
- Ils montaient vers les cieux, ils descendaient dans l'abîme; Leur âme était éperdue en face du danger; (Ⅱ) - ἀναβαίνουσιν ἕως τω̃ν οὐρανω̃ν καὶ καταβαίνουσιν ἕως τω̃ν ἀβύσσων ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτω̃ν ἐν κακοι̃ς ἐτήκετο (Ⅲ) - Ascendunt usque ad cælos, et descendunt usque ad abyssos ;/ anima eorum in malis tabescebat./ (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃107 יעלו שמים ירדו תהומות נפשם ברעה תתמוגג (Ⅴ)

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.

(Ⅱ) - ἐταράχθησαν ἐσαλεύθησαν ὡς ὁ μεθύων καὶ πα̃σα ἡ σοφία αὐτω̃ν κατεπόθη (Ⅲ) - Turbati sunt, et moti sunt sicut ebrius,/ et omnis sapientia eorum devorata est./ (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃107 יחוגו וינועו כשכור וכל חכמתם תתבלע (Ⅴ)

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
- Il arrêta la tempête, ramena le calme, Et les ondes se turent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπέταξεν τη̨̃ καταιγίδι καὶ ἔστη εἰς αὔραν καὶ ἐσίγησαν τὰ κύματα αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Et statuit procellam ejus in auram,/ et siluerunt fluctus ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃107 יקם סערה לדממה ויחשו גליהם (Ⅴ)

Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
- Ils se réjouirent de ce qu'elles s'étaient apaisées, Et l'Éternel les conduisit au port désiré. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εὐφράνθησαν ὅτι ἡσύχασαν καὶ ὡδήγησεν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ λιμένα θελήματος αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et lætati sunt quia siluerunt ;/ et deduxit eos in portum voluntatis eorum./ (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃107 וישמחו כי ישתקו וינחם אל מחוז חפצם (Ⅴ)

(Ⅱ) - ὑψωσάτωσαν αὐτὸν ἐν ἐκκλησία̨ λαου̃ καὶ ἐν καθέδρα̨ πρεσβυτέρων αἰνεσάτωσαν αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - Et exaltent eum in ecclesia plebis,/ et in cathedra seniorum laudent eum./ (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃107 וירממוהו בקהל עם ובמושב זקנים יהללוהו (Ⅴ)

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;
- Il change les fleuves en désert, Et les sources d'eaux en terre desséchée, (Ⅱ) - ἔθετο ποταμοὺς εἰς ἔρημον καὶ διεξόδους ὑδάτων εἰς δίψαν (Ⅲ) - Posuit flumina in desertum,/ et exitus aquarum in sitim ;/ (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃107 ישם נהרות למדבר ומצאי מים לצמאון (Ⅴ)

A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
- Le pays fertile en pays salé, A cause de la méchanceté de ses habitants. (Ⅱ) - γη̃ν καρποφόρον εἰς ἅλμην ἀπὸ κακίας τω̃ν κατοικούντων ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - terram fructiferam in salsuginem,/ a malitia inhabitantium in ea./ (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃107 ארץ פרי למלחה מרעת ישבי בה (Ⅴ)

He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.
- Il change le désert en étang, Et la terre aride en sources d'eaux, (Ⅱ) - ἔθετο ἔρημον εἰς λίμνας ὑδάτων καὶ γη̃ν ἄνυδρον εἰς διεξόδους ὑδάτων (Ⅲ) - Posuit desertum in stagna aquarum,/ et terram sine aqua in exitus aquarum./ (Ⅳ) - 35 ׃107 ישם מדבר לאגם מים וארץ ציה למצאי מים (Ⅴ)

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;
- Et il y établit ceux qui sont affamés. Ils fondent une ville pour l'habiter; (Ⅱ) - καὶ κατώ̨κισεν ἐκει̃ πεινω̃ντας καὶ συνεστήσαντο πόλιν κατοικεσίας (Ⅲ) - Et collocavit illic esurientes,/ et constituerunt civitatem habitationis :/ (Ⅳ) - 36 ׃107 ויושב שם רעבים ויכוננו עיר מושב (Ⅴ)

And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
- Ils ensemencent des champs, plantent des vignes, Et ils en recueillent les produits. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσπειραν ἀγροὺς καὶ ἐφύτευσαν ἀμπελω̃νας καὶ ἐποίησαν καρπὸν γενήματος (Ⅲ) - et seminaverunt agros et plantaverunt vineas,/ et fecerunt fructum nativitatis./ (Ⅳ) - 37 ׃107 ויזרעו שדות ויטעו כרמים ויעשו פרי תבואה (Ⅴ)

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
- Il les bénit, et ils deviennent très nombreux, Et il ne diminue point leur bétail. Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.
- Sont-ils amoindris et humiliés Par l'oppression, le malheur et la souffrance; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὠλιγώθησαν καὶ ἐκακώθησαν ἀπὸ θλίψεως κακω̃ν καὶ ὀδύνης (Ⅲ) - Et pauci facti sunt et vexati sunt,/ a tribulatione malorum et dolore./ (Ⅳ) - 39 ׃107 וימעטו וישחו מעצר רעה ויגון [8]׆ (Ⅴ)

He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
- Verse-t-il le mépris sur les grands, Les fait-il errer dans des déserts sans chemin, (Ⅱ) - ἐξεχύθη ἐξουδένωσις ἐπ' ἄρχοντας καὶ ἐπλάνησεν αὐτοὺς ἐν ἀβάτω̨ καὶ οὐχ ὁδω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Effusa est contemptio super principes :/ et errare fecit eos in invio, et non in via./ (Ⅳ) - 40 ׃107 שפך בוז על נדיבים ויתעם בתהו לא דרך (Ⅴ)

Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.
- Il relève l'indigent et le délivre de la misère, Il multiplie les familles comme des troupeaux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐβοήθησεν πένητι ἐκ πτωχείας καὶ ἔθετο ὡς πρόβατα πατριάς (Ⅲ) - Et adjuvit pauperem de inopia,/ et posuit sicut oves familias./ (Ⅳ) - 41 ׃107 וישגב אביון מעוני וישם כצאן משפחות (Ⅴ)

The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
- Les hommes droits le voient et se réjouissent, Mais toute iniquité ferme la bouche. (Ⅱ) - ὄψονται εὐθει̃ς καὶ εὐφρανθήσονται καὶ πα̃σα ἀνομία ἐμφράξει τὸ στόμα αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Videbunt recti, et lætabuntur ;/ et omnis iniquitas oppilabit os suum./ (Ⅳ) - 42 ׃107 יראו ישרים וישמחו וכל עולה קפצה פיה (Ⅴ)

Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
- Que celui qui est sage prenne garde à ces choses, Et qu'il soit attentif aux bontés de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - τίς σοφὸς καὶ φυλάξει ταυ̃τα καὶ συνήσουσιν τὰ ἐλέη του̃ κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Quis sapiens, et custodiet hæc,/ et intelliget misericordias Domini ?] (Ⅳ) - 43 ׃107 מי חכם וישמר אלה ויתבוננו חסדי יהוה (Ⅴ)
