In finem. Puero Domini David, qui locutus est Domino verba cantici hujus, in die qua eripuit eum Dominus de manu omnium inimicorum ejus, et de manu Saul, et dixit :
- Au chef des chantres. Du serviteur de l'Éternel, de David, qui adressa à l'Éternel les paroles de ce cantique, lorsque l'Éternel l'eut délivré de la main de tous ses ennemis et de la main de Saül. Il dit: (Ⅱ) - εἰς τὸ τέλος τω̨̃ παιδὶ κυρίου τω̨̃ Δαυιδ ἃ ἐλάλησεν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ τοὺς λόγους τη̃ς ὠ̨δη̃ς ταύτης ἐν ἡμέρα̨ ἡ̨̃ ἐρρύσατο αὐτὸν κύριος ἐκ χειρὸς πάντων τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς Σαουλ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃18 למנצח לעבד יהוה לדוד אשר דבר ליהוה את דברי השירה הזאת ביום הציל יהוה אותו מכף כל איביו ומיד שאול (Ⅴ)

[Diligam te, Domine, fortitudo mea./
- Je t'aime, ô Éternel, ma force! (Ⅱ) - I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἀγαπήσω σε κύριε ἡ ἰσχύς μου (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃18 ויאמר ארחמך יהוה חזקי (Ⅴ)

Dominus firmamentum meum, et refugium meum, et liberator meus./ Deus meus adjutor meus, et sperabo in eum ;/ protector meus, et cornu salutis meæ, et susceptor meus./
- Éternel, mon rocher, ma forteresse, mon libérateur! Mon Dieu, mon rocher, où je trouve un abri! Mon bouclier, la force qui me sauve, ma haute retraite! (Ⅱ) - The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. (Ⅲ) - κύριος στερέωμά μου καὶ καταφυγή μου καὶ ῥύστης μου ὁ θεός μου βοηθός μου καὶ ἐλπιω̃ ἐπ' αὐτόν ὑπερασπιστής μου καὶ κέρας σωτηρίας μου ἀντιλήμπτωρ μου (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃18 יהוה סלעי ומצודתי ומפלטי אלי צורי אחסה בו מגני וקרן ישעי משגבי (Ⅴ)

Laudans invocabo Dominum,/ et ab inimicis meis salvus ero./
- Je m'écrie: Loué soit l'Éternel! Et je suis délivré de mes ennemis. (Ⅱ) - I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. (Ⅲ) - αἰνω̃ν ἐπικαλέσομαι κύριον καὶ ἐκ τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν μου σωθήσομαι (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃18 מהלל אקרא יהוה ומן איבי אושע (Ⅴ)

Circumdederunt me dolores mortis,/ et torrentes iniquitatis conturbaverunt me./
- Les liens de la mort m'avaient environné, Et les torrents de la destruction m'avaient épouvanté; (Ⅱ) - The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. (Ⅲ) - περιέσχον με ὠδι̃νες θανάτου καὶ χείμαρροι ἀνομίας ἐξετάραξάν με (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃18 אפפוני חבלי מות ונחלי בליעל יבעתוני (Ⅴ)

Dolores inferni circumdederunt me ;/ præoccupaverunt me laquei mortis./
- Les liens du sépulcre m'avaient entouré, Les filets de la mort m'avaient surpris. (Ⅱ) - The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. (Ⅲ) - ὠδι̃νες ἅ̨δου περιεκύκλωσάν με προέφθασάν με παγίδες θανάτου (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃18 חבלי שאול סבבוני קדמוני מוקשי מות (Ⅴ)

In tribulatione mea invocavi Dominum,/ et ad Deum meum clamavi :/ et exaudivit de templo sancto suo vocem meam ;/ et clamor meus in conspectu ejus introivit in aures ejus./
- Dans ma détresse, j'ai invoqué l'Éternel, J'ai crié à mon Dieu; De son palais, il a entendu ma voix, Et mon cri est parvenu devant lui à ses oreilles. (Ⅱ) - In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ θλίβεσθαί με ἐπεκαλεσάμην τὸν κύριον καὶ πρὸς τὸν θεόν μου ἐκέκραξα ἤκουσεν ἐκ ναου̃ ἁγίου αὐτου̃ φωνη̃ς μου καὶ ἡ κραυγή μου ἐνώπιον αὐτου̃ εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὰ ὠ̃τα αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃18 בצר לי אקרא יהוה ואל אלהי אשוע ישמע מהיכלו קולי ושועתי לפניו תבוא באזניו (Ⅴ)

Commota est, et contremuit terra ;/ fundamenta montium conturbata sunt, et commota sunt :/ quoniam iratus est eis./
- La terre fut ébranlée et trembla, Les fondements des montagnes frémirent, Et ils furent ébranlés, parce qu'il était irrité. (Ⅱ) - Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐσαλεύθη καὶ ἔντρομος ἐγενήθη ἡ γη̃ καὶ τὰ θεμέλια τω̃ν ὀρέων ἐταράχθησαν καὶ ἐσαλεύθησαν ὅτι ὠργίσθη αὐτοι̃ς ὁ θεός (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃18 ותגעש ותרעש הארץ ומוסדי הרים ירגזו ויתגעשו כי חרה לו (Ⅴ)

Ascendit fumus in ira ejus,/ et ignis a facie ejus exarsit ;/ carbones succensi sunt ab eo./
- Il s'élevait de la fumée dans ses narines, Et un feu dévorant sortait de sa bouche: Il en jaillissait des charbons embrasés. (Ⅱ) - There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. (Ⅲ) - ἀνέβη καπνὸς ἐν ὀργη̨̃ αὐτου̃ καὶ πυ̃ρ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτου̃ κατεφλόγισεν ἄνθρακες ἀνήφθησαν ἀπ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃18 עלה עשן באפו ואש מפיו תאכל גחלים בערו ממנו (Ⅴ)

Inclinavit cælos, et descendit,/ et caligo sub pedibus ejus./
- Il abaissa les cieux, et il descendit: Il y avait une épaisse nuée sous ses pieds. (Ⅱ) - He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἔκλινεν οὐρανὸν καὶ κατέβη καὶ γνόφος ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃18 ויט שמים וירד וערפל תחת רגליו (Ⅴ)

Et ascendit super cherubim, et volavit ;/ volavit super pennas ventorum./
- Il était monté sur un chérubin, et il volait, Il planait sur les ailes du vent. (Ⅱ) - And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐπέβη ἐπὶ χερουβιν καὶ ἐπετάσθη ἐπετάσθη ἐπὶ πτερύγων ἀνέμων (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃18 וירכב על כרוב ויעף וידא על כנפי רוח (Ⅴ)

Et posuit tenebras latibulum suum ;/ in circuitu ejus tabernaculum ejus,/ tenebrosa aqua in nubibus aëris./
- Il faisait des ténèbres sa retraite, sa tente autour de lui, Il était enveloppé des eaux obscures et de sombres nuages. (Ⅱ) - He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἔθετο σκότος ἀποκρυφὴν αὐτου̃ κύκλω̨ αὐτου̃ ἡ σκηνὴ αὐτου̃ σκοτεινὸν ὕδωρ ἐν νεφέλαις ἀέρων (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃18 ישת חשך סתרו סביבותיו סכתו חשכת מים עבי שחקים (Ⅴ)

Præ fulgore in conspectu ejus nubes transierunt ;/ grando et carbones ignis./
- De la splendeur qui le précédait s'échappaient les nuées, Lançant de la grêle et des charbons de feu. (Ⅱ) - At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire. (Ⅲ) - ἀπὸ τη̃ς τηλαυγήσεως ἐνώπιον αὐτου̃ αἱ νεφέλαι διη̃λθον χάλαζα καὶ ἄνθρακες πυρός (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃18 מנגה נגדו עביו עברו ברד וגחלי אש (Ⅴ)

Et intonuit de cælo Dominus,/ et Altissimus dedit vocem suam :/ grando et carbones ignis./
- L'Éternel tonna dans les cieux, Le Très Haut fit retentir sa voix, Avec la grêle et les charbons de feu. (Ⅱ) - The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐβρόντησεν ἐξ οὐρανου̃ κύριος καὶ ὁ ὕψιστος ἔδωκεν φωνὴν αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃18 וירעם בשמים יהוה ועליון יתן קלו ברד וגחלי אש (Ⅴ)

Et misit sagittas suas, et dissipavit eos ;/ fulgura multiplicavit, et conturbavit eos./
- Il lança ses flèches et dispersa mes ennemis, Il multiplia les coups de la foudre et les mit en déroute. (Ⅱ) - Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν βέλη καὶ ἐσκόρπισεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἀστραπὰς ἐπλήθυνεν καὶ συνετάραξεν αὐτούς (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃18 וישלח חציו ויפיצם וברקים רב ויהמם (Ⅴ)

Et apparuerunt fontes aquarum,/ et revelata sunt fundamenta orbis terrarum,/ ab increpatione tua, Domine,/ ab inspiratione spiritus iræ tuæ./
- Le lit des eaux apparut, Les fondements du monde furent découverts, Par ta menace, ô Éternel! Par le bruit du souffle de tes narines. (Ⅱ) - Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ὤφθησαν αἱ πηγαὶ τω̃ν ὑδάτων καὶ ἀνεκαλύφθη τὰ θεμέλια τη̃ς οἰκουμένης ἀπὸ ἐπιτιμήσεώς σου κύριε ἀπὸ ἐμπνεύσεως πνεύματος ὀργη̃ς σου (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃18 ויראו אפיקי מים ויגלו מוסדות תבל מגערתך יהוה מנשמת רוח אפך (Ⅴ)

Misit de summo, et accepit me ;/ et assumpsit me de aquis multis./
- Il étendit sa main d'en haut, il me saisit, Il me retira des grandes eaux; (Ⅱ) - He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. (Ⅲ) - ἐξαπέστειλεν ἐξ ὕψους καὶ ἔλαβέν με προσελάβετό με ἐξ ὑδάτων πολλω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃18 ישלח ממרום יקחני ימשני ממים רבים (Ⅴ)

Eripuit me de inimicis meis fortissimis, et ab his qui oderunt me./ Quoniam confortati sunt super me ;/
- Il me délivra de mon adversaire puissant, De mes ennemis qui étaient plus forts que moi. (Ⅱ) - He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. (Ⅲ) - ῥύσεταί με ἐξ ἐχθρω̃ν μου δυνατω̃ν καὶ ἐκ τω̃ν μισούντων με ὅτι ἐστερεώθησαν ὑπὲρ ἐμέ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃18 יצילני מאיבי עז ומשנאי כי אמצו ממני (Ⅴ)

prævenerunt me in die afflictionis meæ :/ et factus est Dominus protector meus./
- Ils m'avaient surpris au jour de ma détresse; Mais l'Éternel fut mon appui. (Ⅱ) - They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. (Ⅲ) - προέφθασάν με ἐν ἡμέρα̨ κακώσεώς μου καὶ ἐγένετο κύριος ἀντιστήριγμά μου (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃18 יקדמוני ביום אידי ויהי יהוה למשען לי (Ⅴ)

Et eduxit me in latitudinem ;/ salvum me fecit, quoniam voluit me,/
- Il m'a mis au large, Il m'a sauvé, parce qu'il m'aime. (Ⅱ) - He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐξήγαγέν με εἰς πλατυσμόν ῥύσεταί με ὅτι ἠθέλησέν με ῥύσεταί με ἐξ ἐχθρω̃ν μου δυνατω̃ν καὶ ἐκ τω̃ν μισούντων με (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃18 ויוציאני למרחב יחלצני כי חפץ בי (Ⅴ)

et retribuet mihi Dominus secundum justitiam meam,/ et secundum puritatem manuum mearum retribuet mihi :/
- L'Éternel m'a traité selon ma droiture, Il m'a rendu selon la pureté de mes mains; (Ⅱ) - The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀνταποδώσει μοι κύριος κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην μου καὶ κατὰ τὴν καθαριότητα τω̃ν χειρω̃ν μου ἀνταποδώσει μοι (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃18 יגמלני יהוה כצדקי כבר ידי ישיב לי (Ⅴ)

quia custodivi vias Domini,/ nec impie gessi a Deo meo ;/
- Car j'ai observé les voies de l'Éternel, Et je n'ai point été coupable envers mon Dieu. (Ⅱ) - For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι ἐφύλαξα τὰς ὁδοὺς κυρίου καὶ οὐκ ἠσέβησα ἀπὸ του̃ θεου̃ μου (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃18 כי שמרתי דרכי יהוה ולא רשעתי מאלהי (Ⅴ)

quoniam omnia judicia ejus in conspectu meo,/ et justitias ejus non repuli a me./
- Toutes ses ordonnances ont été devant moi, Et je ne me suis point écarté de ses lois. (Ⅱ) - For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι πάντα τὰ κρίματα αὐτου̃ ἐνώπιόν μου καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτου̃ οὐκ ἀπέστησα ἀπ' ἐμου̃ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃18 כי כל משפטיו לנגדי וחקתיו לא אסיר מני (Ⅴ)

Et ero immaculatus cum eo ;/ et observabo me ab iniquitate mea./
- J'ai été sans reproche envers lui, Et je me suis tenu en garde contre mon iniquité. (Ⅱ) - I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἔσομαι ἄμωμος μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ φυλάξομαι ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἀνομίας μου (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃18 ואהי תמים עמו ואשתמר מעוני (Ⅴ)

Et retribuet mihi Dominus secundum justitiam meam,/ et secundum puritatem manuum mearum in conspectu oculorum ejus./
- Aussi l'Éternel m'a rendu selon ma droiture, Selon la pureté de mes mains devant ses yeux. (Ⅱ) - Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀνταποδώσει μοι κύριος κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην μου καὶ κατὰ τὴν καθαριότητα τω̃ν χειρω̃ν μου ἐνώπιον τω̃ν ὀφθαλμω̃ν αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃18 וישב יהוה לי כצדקי כבר ידי לנגד עיניו (Ⅴ)

Cum sancto sanctus eris,/ et cum viro innocente innocens eris,/
- Avec celui qui est bon tu te montres bon, Avec l'homme droit tu agis selon la droiture, (Ⅱ) - With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright; (Ⅲ) - μετὰ ὁσίου ὁσιωθήση̨ καὶ μετὰ ἀνδρὸς ἀθώ̨ου ἀθω̨̃ος ἔση̨ (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃18 עם חסיד תתחסד עם גבר תמים תתמם (Ⅴ)

et cum electo electus eris,/ et cum perverso perverteris./
- Avec celui qui est pur tu te montres pur, Et avec le pervers tu agis selon sa perversité. (Ⅱ) - With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward. (Ⅲ) - καὶ μετὰ ἐκλεκτου̃ ἐκλεκτὸς ἔση̨ καὶ μετὰ στρεβλου̃ διαστρέψεις (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃18 עם נבר תתברר ועם עקש תתפתל (Ⅴ)

Quoniam tu populum humilem salvum facies,/ et oculos superborum humiliabis./
- Tu sauves le peuple qui s'humilie, Et tu abaisses les regards hautains. (Ⅱ) - For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι σὺ λαὸν ταπεινὸν σώσεις καὶ ὀφθαλμοὺς ὑπερηφάνων ταπεινώσεις (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃18 כי אתה עם עני תושיע ועינים רמות תשפיל (Ⅴ)

Quoniam tu illuminas lucernam meam, Domine ;/ Deus meus, illumina tenebras meas./
- Oui, tu fais briller ma lumière; L'Éternel, mon Dieu, éclaire mes ténèbres. (Ⅱ) - For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι σὺ φωτιει̃ς λύχνον μου κύριε ὁ θεός μου φωτιει̃ς τὸ σκότος μου (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃18 כי אתה תאיר נרי יהוה אלהי יגיה חשכי (Ⅴ)

Quoniam in te eripiar a tentatione ;/ et in Deo meo transgrediar murum./
- Avec toi je me précipite sur une troupe en armes, Avec mon Dieu je franchis une muraille. (Ⅱ) - For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι ἐν σοὶ ῥυσθήσομαι ἀπὸ πειρατηρίου καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ μου ὑπερβήσομαι τει̃χος (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃18 כי בך ארץ גדוד ובאלהי אדלג שור (Ⅴ)

Deus meus, impolluta via ejus ;/ eloquia Domini igne examinata :/ protector est omnium sperantium in se./
- Les voies de Dieu sont parfaites, La parole de l'Éternel est éprouvée; Il est un bouclier pour tous ceux qui se confient en lui. (Ⅱ) - As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. (Ⅲ) - ὁ θεός μου ἄμωμος ἡ ὁδὸς αὐτου̃ τὰ λόγια κυρίου πεπυρωμένα ὑπερασπιστής ἐστιν πάντων τω̃ν ἐλπιζόντων ἐπ' αὐτόν (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃18 האל תמים דרכו אמרת יהוה צרופה מגן הוא לכל החסים בו (Ⅴ)

Quoniam quis deus præter Dominum ?/ aut quis deus præter Deum nostrum ?/
- Car qui est Dieu, si ce n'est l'Éternel; Et qui est un rocher, si ce n'est notre Dieu? (Ⅱ) - For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? (Ⅲ) - ὅτι τίς θεὸς πλὴν του̃ κυρίου καὶ τίς θεὸς πλὴν του̃ θεου̃ ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃18 כי מי אלוה מבלעדי יהוה ומי צור זולתי אלהינו (Ⅴ)

Deus qui præcinxit me virtute,/ et posuit immaculatam viam meam ;/
- C'est Dieu qui me ceint de force, Et qui me conduit dans la voie droite. (Ⅱ) - It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. (Ⅲ) - ὁ θεὸς ὁ περιζωννύων με δύναμιν καὶ ἔθετο ἄμωμον τὴν ὁδόν μου (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃18 האל המאזרני חיל ויתן תמים דרכי (Ⅴ)

qui perfecit pedes meos tamquam cervorum,/ et super excelsa statuens me ;/
- Il rend mes pieds semblables à ceux des biches, Et il me place sur mes lieux élevés. (Ⅱ) - He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places. (Ⅲ) - ὁ καταρτιζόμενος τοὺς πόδας μου ὡς ἐλάφου καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ ὑψηλὰ ἱστω̃ν με (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃18 משוה רגלי כאילות ועל במתי יעמידני (Ⅴ)

qui docet manus meas ad prælium./ Et posuisti, ut arcum æreum, brachia mea,/
- Il exerce mes mains au combat, Et mes bras tendent l'arc d'airain. (Ⅱ) - He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. (Ⅲ) - διδάσκων χει̃ράς μου εἰς πόλεμον καὶ ἔθου τόξον χαλκου̃ν τοὺς βραχίονάς μου (Ⅳ) - 35 ׃18 מלמד ידי למלחמה ונחתה קשת נחושה זרועתי (Ⅴ)

et dedisti mihi protectionem salutis tuæ :/ et dextera tua suscepit me,/ et disciplina tua correxit me in finem,/ et disciplina tua ipsa me docebit./

- Tu élargis le chemin sous mes pas, Et mes pieds ne chancellent point. (Ⅱ) - Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. (Ⅲ) - ἐπλάτυνας τὰ διαβήματά μου ὑποκάτω μου καὶ οὐκ ἠσθένησαν τὰ ἴχνη μου (Ⅳ) - 37 ׃18 תרחיב צעדי תחתי ולא מעדו קרסלי (Ⅴ)

Persequar inimicos meos, et comprehendam illos ;/ et non convertar donec deficiant./
- Je poursuis mes ennemis, je les atteins, Et je ne reviens pas avant de les avoir anéantis. (Ⅱ) - I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed. (Ⅲ) - καταδιώξω τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου καὶ καταλήμψομαι αὐτοὺς καὶ οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι ἕως ἂν ἐκλίπωσιν (Ⅳ) - 38 ׃18 ארדוף אויבי ואשיגם ולא אשוב[1] עד כלותם (Ⅴ)

- Je les brise, et ils ne peuvent se relever; Ils tombent sous mes pieds. (Ⅱ) - I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet. (Ⅲ) - ἐκθλίψω αὐτούς καὶ οὐ μὴ δύνωνται στη̃ναι πεσου̃νται ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας μου (Ⅳ) - 39 ׃18 אמחצם ולא יכלו קום יפלו תחת רגלי (Ⅴ)

Et præcinxisti me virtute ad bellum,/ et supplantasti insurgentes in me subtus me./
- Tu me ceins de force pour le combat, Tu fais plier sous moi mes adversaires. (Ⅱ) - For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. (Ⅲ) - καὶ περιέζωσάς με δύναμιν εἰς πόλεμον συνεπόδισας πάντας τοὺς ἐπανιστανομένους ἐπ' ἐμὲ ὑποκάτω μου (Ⅳ) - 40 ׃18 ותאזרני חיל למלחמה תכריע קמי תחתי (Ⅴ)

- Tu fais tourner le dos à mes ennemis devant moi, Et j'extermine ceux qui me haïssent. (Ⅱ) - Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me. (Ⅲ) - καὶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου ἔδωκάς μοι νω̃τον καὶ τοὺς μισου̃ντάς με ἐξωλέθρευσας (Ⅳ) - 41 ׃18 ואיבי נתתה לי ערף ומשנאי אצמיתם (Ⅴ)

Clamaverunt, nec erat qui salvos faceret ;/ ad Dominum, nec exaudivit eos./
- Ils crient, et personne pour les sauver! Ils crient à l'Éternel, et il ne leur répond pas! (Ⅱ) - They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not. (Ⅱ) - Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets. Eripies me de contradictionibus populi ;/ constitues me in caput gentium./
- Tu me délivres des dissensions du peuple; Tu me mets à la tête des nations; Un peuple que je ne connaissais pas m'est asservi. (Ⅱ) - Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me. (Ⅲ) - ῥύση̨ με ἐξ ἀντιλογιω̃ν λαου̃ καταστήσεις με εἰς κεφαλὴν ἐθνω̃ν λαός ὃν οὐκ ἔγνων ἐδούλευσέν μοι (Ⅳ) - 44 ׃18 תפלטני מריבי עם תשימני לראש גוים עם לא ידעתי יעבדוני (Ⅴ)

Populus quem non cognovi servivit mihi ;/ in auditu auris obedivit mihi./
- Ils m'obéissent au premier ordre, Les fils de l'étranger me flattent; (Ⅱ) - As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me. (Ⅲ) - εἰς ἀκοὴν ὠτίου ὑπήκουσέν μοι υἱοὶ ἀλλότριοι ἐψεύσαντό μοι (Ⅳ) - 45 ׃18 לשמע אזן ישמעו לי בני נכר יכחשו לי (Ⅴ)

- Les fils de l'étranger sont en défaillance, Ils tremblent hors de leurs forteresses. (Ⅱ) - The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places. (Ⅲ) - υἱοὶ ἀλλότριοι ἐπαλαιώθησαν καὶ ἐχώλαναν ἀπὸ τω̃ν τρίβων αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 46 ׃18 בני נכר יבלו ויחרגו ממסגרותיהם (Ⅴ)

(Ⅱ) - He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. Propterea confitebor tibi in nationibus, Domine,/ et nomini tuo psalmum dicam ;/
- C'est pourquoi je te louerai parmi les nations, ô Éternel! Et je chanterai à la gloire de ton nom. (Ⅱ) - Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.
