- Au chef des chantres. A Jeduthun, Psaume de David. (Ⅱ)
- εἰς τὸ τέλος τω̨̃ Ιδιθουν ὠ̨δὴ τω̨̃ Δαυιδ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 1  ׃39  למנצח *לידיתון **לידותון מזמור לדוד ‬ (Ⅴ)
39. 2  
[Dixi : Custodiam vias meas :/ ut non delinquam in lingua mea./ Posui ori meo custodiam,/ cum consisteret peccator adversum me./
- Je disais: Je veillerai sur mes voies, De peur de pécher par ma langue; Je mettrai un frein à ma bouche, Tant que le méchant sera devant moi. (Ⅱ)
- I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. (Ⅲ)
- εἰ̃πα φυλάξω τὰς ὁδούς μου του̃ μὴ ἁμαρτάνειν ἐν γλώσση̨ μου ἐθέμην τω̨̃ στόματί μου φυλακὴν ἐν τω̨̃ συστη̃ναι τὸν ἁμαρτωλὸν ἐναντίον μου (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 2  ׃39  אמרתי אשמרה דרכי מחטוא בלשוני אשמרה לפי מחסום בעד רשע לנגדי ‬ (Ⅴ)

Obmutui, et humiliatus sum, et silui a bonis ;/ et dolor meus renovatus est./
- Je suis resté muet, dans le silence; Je me suis tu, quoique malheureux; Et ma douleur n'était pas moins vive. (Ⅱ)
- I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred. (Ⅲ)
- ἐκωφώθην καὶ ἐταπεινώθην καὶ ἐσίγησα ἐξ ἀγαθω̃ν καὶ τὸ ἄλγημά μου ἀνεκαινίσθη (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 3  ׃39  נאלמתי דומיה החשיתי מטוב וכאבי נעכר ‬ (Ⅴ)
39. 4  
Concaluit cor meum intra me ;/ et in meditatione mea exardescet ignis./
- Mon coeur brûlait au dedans de moi, Un feu intérieur me consumait, Et la parole est venue sur ma langue. (Ⅱ)
- My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue, (Ⅲ)
- ἐθερμάνθη ἡ καρδία μου ἐντός μου καὶ ἐν τη̨̃ μελέτη̨ μου ἐκκαυθήσεται πυ̃ρ ἐλάλησα ἐν γλώσση̨ μου (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 4  ׃39  חם לבי בקרבי בהגיגי תבער אש דברתי בלשוני ‬ (Ⅴ)
39. 5  
Locutus sum in lingua mea :/ Notum fac mihi, Domine, finem meum,/ et numerum dierum meorum quis est,/ ut sciam quid desit mihi./
- Éternel! dis-moi quel est le terme de ma vie, Quelle est la mesure de mes jours; Que je sache combien je suis fragile. (Ⅱ)
- LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am. (Ⅲ)
- γνώρισόν μοι κύριε τὸ πέρας μου καὶ τὸν ἀριθμὸν τω̃ν ἡμερω̃ν μου τίς ἐστιν ἵνα γνω̃ τί ὑστερω̃ ἐγώ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 5  ׃39  הודיעני יהוה קצי ומדת ימי מה היא אדעה מה חדל אני ‬ (Ⅴ)

Ecce mensurabiles posuisti dies meos,/ et substantia mea tamquam nihilum ante te./ Verumtamen universa vanitas, omnis homo vivens./
- Voici, tu as donné à mes jours la largeur de la main, Et ma vie est comme un rien devant toi. Oui, tout homme debout n'est qu'un souffle. -Pause. (Ⅱ)
- Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. (Ⅲ)
- ἰδοὺ παλαιστὰς ἔθου τὰς ἡμέρας μου καὶ ἡ ὑπόστασίς μου ὡσεὶ οὐθὲν ἐνώπιόν σου πλὴν τὰ σύμπαντα ματαιότης πα̃ς ἄνθρωπος ζω̃ν διάψαλμα (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 6  ׃39  הנה טפחות נתתה ימי וחלדי כאין נגדך אך כל הבל כל אדם נצב סלה ‬ (Ⅴ)
39. 7  
Verumtamen in imagine pertransit homo ;/ sed et frustra conturbatur :/ thesaurizat, et ignorat cui congregabit ea./
- Oui, l'homme se promène comme une ombre, Il s'agite vainement; Il amasse, et il ne sait qui recueillera. (Ⅱ)
- Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them. (Ⅲ)
- μέντοιγε ἐν εἰκόνι διαπορεύεται ἄνθρωπος πλὴν μάτην ταράσσονται θησαυρίζει καὶ οὐ γινώσκει τίνι συνάξει αὐτά (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 7  ׃39  אך בצלם יתהלך איש אך הבל יהמיון יצבר ולא ידע מי אספם ‬ (Ⅴ)
39. 8  
Et nunc quæ est exspectatio mea : nonne Dominus ?/ et substantia mea apud te est./
- Maintenant, Seigneur, que puis-je espérer? En toi est mon espérance. (Ⅱ)
- And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. (Ⅲ)
- καὶ νυ̃ν τίς ἡ ὑπομονή μου οὐχὶ ὁ κύριος καὶ ἡ ὑπόστασίς μου παρὰ σου̃ ἐστιν (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 8  ׃39  ועתה מה קויתי אדני תוחלתי לך היא ‬ (Ⅴ)
39. 9  
Ab omnibus iniquitatibus meis erue me :/ opprobrium insipienti dedisti me./
- Délivre-moi de toutes mes transgressions! Ne me rends pas l'opprobre de l'insensé! (Ⅱ)
- Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish. (Ⅲ)
- ἀπὸ πασω̃ν τω̃ν ἀνομιω̃ν μου ῥυ̃σαί με ὄνειδος ἄφρονι ἔδωκάς με (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 9  ׃39  מכל פשעי הצילני חרפת נבל אל תשימני ‬ (Ⅴ)
39. 10  
Obmutui, et non aperui os meum,/ quoniam tu fecisti ;/
- Je reste muet, je n'ouvre pas la bouche, Car c'est toi qui agis. (Ⅱ)
- I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it. (Ⅲ)
- ἐκωφώθην καὶ οὐκ ἤνοιξα τὸ στόμα μου ὅτι σὺ εἰ̃ ὁ ποιήσας με (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 10 ׃39  נאלמתי לא אפתח פי כי אתה עשית ‬ (Ⅴ)

amove a me plagas tuas./
- Détourne de moi tes coups! Je succombe sous les attaques de ta main. (Ⅱ)
- Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand. (Ⅲ)
- ἀπόστησον ἀπ' ἐμου̃ τὰς μάστιγάς σου ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἰσχύος τη̃ς χειρός σου ἐγὼ ἐξέλιπον (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 11 ׃39  הסר מעלי נגעך מתגרת ידך אני כליתי ‬ (Ⅴ)
39. 12  
A fortitudine manus tuæ ego defeci in increpationibus :/ propter iniquitatem corripuisti hominem./ Et tabescere fecisti sicut araneam animam ejus :/ verumtamen vane conturbatur omnis homo./
- Tu châties l'homme en le punissant de son iniquité, Tu détruis comme la teigne ce qu'il a de plus cher. Oui, tout homme est un souffle. -Pause. (Ⅱ)
- When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah. (Ⅲ)
- ἐν ἐλεγμοι̃ς ὑπὲρ ἀνομίας ἐπαίδευσας ἄνθρωπον καὶ ἐξέτηξας ὡς ἀράχνην τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτου̃ πλὴν μάτην ταράσσεται πα̃ς ἄνθρωπος διάψαλμα (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 12 ׃39  בתוכחות על עון יסרת איש ותמס כעש חמודו אך הבל כל אדם סלה ‬ (Ⅴ)
39. 13  
Exaudi orationem meam, Domine, et deprecationem meam ;/ auribus percipe lacrimas meas./ Ne sileas, quoniam advena ego sum apud te,/ et peregrinus sicut omnes patres mei./
- Écoute ma prière, Éternel, et prête l'oreille à mes cris! Ne sois pas insensible à mes larmes! Car je suis un étranger chez toi, Un habitant, comme tous mes pères. (Ⅱ)
- Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. (Ⅲ)
- εἰσάκουσον τη̃ς προσευχη̃ς μου κύριε καὶ τη̃ς δεήσεώς μου ἐνώτισαι τω̃ν δακρύων μου μὴ παρασιωπήση̨ς ὅτι πάροικος ἐγώ εἰμι παρὰ σοὶ καὶ παρεπίδημος καθὼς πάντες οἱ πατέρες μου (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 13 ׃39  שמעה תפלתי יהוה ושועתי האזינה אל דמעתי אל תחרש כי גר אנכי עמך תושב ככל אבותי ‬ (Ⅴ)

Remitte mihi, ut refrigerer/ priusquam abeam et amplius non ero.]
- Détourne de moi le regard, et laisse-moi respirer, Avant que je m'en aille et que ne sois plus! (Ⅱ)
- O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more. (Ⅲ)
- ἄνες μοι ἵνα ἀναψύξω πρὸ του̃ με ἀπελθει̃ν καὶ οὐκέτι μὴ ὑπάρξω (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 14 ׃39  השע ממני ואבליגה בטרם אלך ואינני ‬ (Ⅴ)
