2 ׃49 שמעו זאת כל העמים האזינו כל ישבי חלד
- Écoutez ceci, vous tous, peuples, Prêtez l'oreille, vous tous, habitants du monde, (Ⅱ) - Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world: (Ⅲ) - ἀκούσατε ταυ̃τα πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐνωτίσασθε πάντες οἱ κατοικου̃ντες τὴν οἰκουμένην (Ⅳ) - [Audite hæc, omnes gentes ;/ auribus percipite, omnes qui habitatis orbem :/ (Ⅴ)

3 ׃49 גם בני אדם גם בני איש יחד עשיר ואביון
- Petits et grands, Riches et pauvres! (Ⅱ) - Both low and high, rich and poor, together. (Ⅲ) - οἵ τε γηγενει̃ς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τω̃ν ἀνθρώπων ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ πλούσιος καὶ πένης (Ⅳ) - quique terrigenæ et filii hominum,/ simul in unum dives et pauper./ (Ⅴ)

4 ׃49 פי ידבר חכמות והגות לבי תבונות
- Ma bouche va faire entendre des paroles sages, Et mon coeur a des pensées pleines de sens. (Ⅱ) - My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. (Ⅲ) - τὸ στόμα μου λαλήσει σοφίαν καὶ ἡ μελέτη τη̃ς καρδίας μου σύνεσιν (Ⅳ) - Os meum loquetur sapientiam,/ et meditatio cordis mei prudentiam./ (Ⅴ)

5 ׃49 אטה למשל אזני אפתח בכנור חידתי
- Je prête l'oreille aux sentences qui me sont inspirées, J'ouvre mon chant au son de la harpe. (Ⅱ) - I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. (Ⅲ) - κλινω̃ εἰς παραβολὴν τὸ οὐ̃ς μου ἀνοίξω ἐν ψαλτηρίω̨ τὸ πρόβλημά μου (Ⅳ) - Inclinabo in parabolam aurem meam ;/ aperiam in psalterio propositionem meam./ (Ⅴ)

6 ׃49 למה אירא בימי רע עון עקבי יסובני
- Pourquoi craindrais-je aux jours du malheur, Lorsque l'iniquité de mes adversaires m'enveloppe? (Ⅱ) - Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about? (Ⅲ) - ἵνα τί φοβου̃μαι ἐν ἡμέρα̨ πονηρα̨̃ ἡ ἀνομία τη̃ς πτέρνης μου κυκλώσει με (Ⅳ) - Cur timebo in die mala ?/ iniquitas calcanei mei circumdabit me./ (Ⅴ)

7 ׃49 הבטחים על חילם וברב עשרם יתהללו
- Ils ont confiance en leurs biens, Et se glorifient de leur grande richesse. (Ⅱ) - They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; (Ⅲ) - οἱ πεποιθότες ἐπὶ τη̨̃ δυνάμει αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐπὶ τω̨̃ πλήθει του̃ πλούτου αὐτω̃ν καυχώμενοι (Ⅳ) - Qui confidunt in virtute sua,/ et in multitudine divitiarum suarum, gloriantur./ (Ⅴ)

8 ׃49 אח לא פדה יפדה איש לא יתן לאלהים כפרו
- Ils ne peuvent se racheter l'un l'autre, Ni donner à Dieu le prix du rachat. (Ⅱ) - None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (Ⅲ) - ἀδελφὸς οὐ λυτρου̃ται λυτρώσεται ἄνθρωπος οὐ δώσει τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ ἐξίλασμα αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - Frater non redimit, redimet homo :/ non dabit Deo placationem suam,/ (Ⅴ)

9 ׃49 ויקר פדיון נפשם וחדל לעולם
- Le rachat de leur âme est cher, Et n'aura jamais lieu; (Ⅱ) - (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) (Ⅲ) - καὶ τὴν τιμὴν τη̃ς λυτρώσεως τη̃ς ψυχη̃ς αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - et pretium redemptionis animæ suæ./ Et laborabit in æternum ;/ (Ⅴ)

10 ׃49 ויחי עוד לנצח לא יראה השחת
- Ils ne vivront pas toujours, Ils n'éviteront pas la vue de la fosse. (Ⅱ) - That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐκόπασεν εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να καὶ ζήσεται εἰς τέλος ὅτι οὐκ ὄψεται καταφθοράν ὅταν ἴδη̨ σοφοὺς ἀποθνή̨σκοντας (Ⅳ) - et vivet adhuc in finem./ (Ⅴ)

11 ׃49 כי יראה חכמים ימותו יחד כסיל ובער יאבדו ועזבו לאחרים חילם
- Car ils la verront: les sages meurent, L'insensé et le stupide périssent également, Et ils laissent à d'autres leurs biens. (Ⅱ) - For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. (Ⅲ) - ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἄφρων καὶ ἄνους ἀπολου̃νται καὶ καταλείψουσιν ἀλλοτρίοις τὸν πλου̃τον αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Non videbit interitum,/ cum viderit sapientes morientes :/ simul insipiens et stultus peribunt./ Et relinquent alienis divitias suas,/ (Ⅴ)

12 ׃49 קרבם בתימו לעולם משכנתם לדר ודר קראו בשמותם עלי אדמות
- Ils s'imaginent que leurs maisons seront éternelles, Que leurs demeures subsisteront d'âge en âge, Eux dont les noms sont honorés sur la terre. (Ⅱ) - Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. (Ⅲ) - καὶ οἱ τάφοι αὐτω̃ν οἰκίαι αὐτω̃ν εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να σκηνώματα αὐτω̃ν εἰς γενεὰν καὶ γενεάν ἐπεκαλέσαντο τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτω̃ν ἐπὶ τω̃ν γαιω̃ν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - et sepulchra eorum domus illorum in æternum ;/ tabernacula eorum in progenie et progenie :/ vocaverunt nomina sua in terris suis./ (Ⅴ)

13 ׃49 ואדם ביקר בל ילין נמשל כבהמות נדמו
- Mais l'homme qui est en honneur n'a point de durée, Il est semblable aux bêtes que l'on égorge. (Ⅱ) - Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἄνθρωπος ἐν τιμη̨̃ ὢν οὐ συνη̃κεν παρασυνεβλήθη τοι̃ς κτήνεσιν τοι̃ς ἀνοήτοις καὶ ὡμοιώθη αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅳ) - Et homo, cum in honore esset, non intellexit./ Comparatus est jumentis insipientibus,/ et similis factus est illis./ (Ⅴ)

14 ׃49 זה דרכם כסל למו ואחריהם בפיהם ירצו סלה
- Telle est leur voie, leur folie, Et ceux qui les suivent se plaisent à leurs discours. -Pause. (Ⅱ) - This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah. (Ⅲ) - αὕτη ἡ ὁδὸς αὐτω̃ν σκάνδαλον αὐτοι̃ς καὶ μετὰ ταυ̃τα ἐν τω̨̃ στόματι αὐτω̃ν εὐδοκήσουσιν διάψαλμα (Ⅳ) - Hæc via illorum scandalum ipsis ;/ et postea in ore suo complacebunt./ (Ⅴ)

15 ׃49 כצאן לשאול שתו מות ירעם וירדו בם ישרים לבקר *וצירם **וצורם לבלות שאול מזבל לו
- Comme un troupeau, ils sont mis dans le séjour des morts, La mort en fait sa pâture; Et bientôt les hommes droits les foulent aux pieds, Leur beauté s'évanouit, le séjour des morts est leur demeure. (Ⅱ) - Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. (Ⅲ) - ὡς πρόβατα ἐν ἅ̨δη̨ ἔθεντο θάνατος ποιμαίνει αὐτούς καὶ κατακυριεύσουσιν αὐτω̃ν οἱ εὐθει̃ς τὸ πρωί καὶ ἡ βοήθεια αὐτω̃ν παλαιωθήσεται ἐν τω̨̃ ἅ̨δη̨ ἐκ τη̃ς δόξης αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Sicut oves in inferno positi sunt :/ mors depascet eos./ Et dominabuntur eorum justi in matutino ;/ et auxilium eorum veterascet in inferno a gloria eorum./ (Ⅴ)

16 ׃49 אך אלהים יפדה נפשי מיד שאול כי יקחני סלה
- Mais Dieu sauvera mon âme du séjour des morts, Car il me prendra sous sa protection. -Pause. (Ⅱ) - But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. (Ⅲ) - πλὴν ὁ θεὸς λυτρώσεται τὴν ψυχήν μου ἐκ χειρὸς ἅ̨δου ὅταν λαμβάνη̨ με διάψαλμα (Ⅳ) - Verumtamen Deus redimet animam meam de manu inferi,/ cum acceperit me./ (Ⅴ)

17 ׃49 אל תירא כי יעשר איש כי ירבה כבוד ביתו
- Ne sois pas dans la crainte parce qu'un homme s'enrichit, Parce que les trésors de sa maison se multiplient; (Ⅱ) - Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; (Ⅲ) - μὴ φοβου̃ ὅταν πλουτήση̨ ἄνθρωπος καὶ ὅταν πληθυνθη̨̃ ἡ δόξα του̃ οἴκου αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - Ne timueris cum dives factus fuerit homo,/ et cum multiplicata fuerit gloria domus ejus :/ (Ⅴ)

18 ׃49 כי לא במותו יקח הכל לא ירד אחריו כבודו
- Car il n'emporte rien en mourant, Ses trésors ne descendent point après lui. (Ⅱ) - For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι οὐκ ἐν τω̨̃ ἀποθνή̨σκειν αὐτὸν λήμψεται τὰ πάντα οὐδὲ συγκαταβήσεται αὐτω̨̃ ἡ δόξα αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - quoniam, cum interierit, non sumet omnia,/ neque descendet cum eo gloria ejus./ (Ⅴ)

19 ׃49 כי נפשו בחייו יברך ויודך כי תיטיב לך
- Il aura beau s'estimer heureux pendant sa vie, On aura beau te louer des jouissances que tu te donnes, (Ⅱ) - Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ ζωη̨̃ αὐτου̃ εὐλογηθήσεται ἐξομολογήσεταί σοι ὅταν ἀγαθύνη̨ς αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅳ) - Quia anima ejus in vita ipsius benedicetur ;/ confitebitur tibi cum benefeceris ei./ (Ⅴ)

20 ׃49 תבוא עד דור אבותיו עד נצח לא יראו אור
- Tu iras néanmoins au séjour de tes pères, Qui jamais ne reverront la lumière. (Ⅱ) - He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. (Ⅲ) - εἰσελεύσεται ἕως γενεα̃ς πατέρων αὐτου̃ ἕως αἰω̃νος οὐκ ὄψεται φω̃ς (Ⅳ) - Introibit usque in progenies patrum suorum ;/ et usque in æternum non videbit lumen./ (Ⅴ)

21 ׃49 אדם ביקר ולא יבין נמשל כבהמות נדמו
- L'homme qui est en honneur, et qui n'a pas d'intelligence, Est semblable aux bêtes que l'on égorge. (Ⅱ) - Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish. (Ⅲ) - ἄνθρωπος ἐν τιμη̨̃ ὢν οὐ συνη̃κεν παρασυνεβλήθη τοι̃ς κτήνεσιν τοι̃ς ἀνοήτοις καὶ ὡμοιώθη αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅳ) - Homo, cum in honore esset, non intellexit./ Comparatus est jumentis insipientibus,/ et similis factus est illis.] (Ⅴ)
