15. 1  
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
- Une réponse douce calme la fureur, Mais une parole dure excite la colère. (Ⅱ)
- ὀργὴ ἀπόλλυσιν καὶ φρονίμους ἀπόκρισις δὲ ὑποπίπτουσα ἀποστρέφει θυμόν λόγος δὲ λυπηρὸς ἐγείρει ὀργάς (Ⅲ)
- Responsio mollis frangit iram ;/ sermo durus suscitat furorem./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 1  ׃15  מענה רך ישיב חמה ודבר עצב יעלה אף ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 2  
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
- La langue des sages rend la science aimable, Et la bouche des insensés répand la folie. (Ⅱ)
- γλω̃σσα σοφω̃ν καλὰ ἐπίσταται στόμα δὲ ἀφρόνων ἀναγγελει̃ κακά (Ⅲ)
- Lingua sapientium ornat scientiam ;/ os fatuorum ebullit stultitiam./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 2  ׃15  לשון חכמים תיטיב דעת ופי כסילים יביע אולת ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 3  
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
- Les yeux de l'Éternel sont en tout lieu, Observant les méchants et les bons. (Ⅱ)
- ἐν παντὶ τόπω̨ ὀφθαλμοὶ κυρίου σκοπεύουσιν κακούς τε καὶ ἀγαθούς (Ⅲ)
- In omni loco, oculi Domini/ contemplantur bonos et malos./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 3  ׃15  בכל מקום עיני יהוה צפות רעים וטובים‪[U]‬ ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 4  
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
- La langue douce est un arbre de vie, Mais la langue perverse brise l'âme. (Ⅱ)
- ἴασις γλώσσης δένδρον ζωη̃ς ὁ δὲ συντηρω̃ν αὐτὴν πλησθήσεται πνεύματος (Ⅲ)
- Lingua placabilis lignum vitæ ;/ quæ autem immoderata est conteret spiritum./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 4  ׃15  מרפא לשון עץ חיים וסלף בה שבר ברוח ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 5  
A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
- L'insensé dédaigne l'instruction de son père, Mais celui qui a égard à la réprimande agit avec prudence. (Ⅱ)
- ἄφρων μυκτηρίζει παιδείαν πατρός ὁ δὲ φυλάσσων ἐντολὰς πανουργότερος (Ⅲ)
- Stultus irridet disciplinam patris sui ;/ qui autem custodit increpationes astutior fiet./ In abundanti justitia virtus maxima est :/ cogitationes autem impiorum eradicabuntur./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 5  ׃15  אויל ינאץ מוסר אביו ושמר תוכחת יערם ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 6  
In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
- Il y a grande abondance dans la maison du juste, Mais il y a du trouble dans les profits du méchant. (Ⅱ)
- ἐν πλεοναζούση̨ δικαιοσύνη̨ ἰσχὺς πολλή οἱ δὲ ἀσεβει̃ς ὁλόρριζοι ἐκ γη̃ς ὀλου̃νται οἴκοις δικαίων ἰσχὺς πολλή καρποὶ δὲ ἀσεβω̃ν ἀπολου̃νται (Ⅲ)
- Domus justi plurima fortitudo,/ et in fructibus impii conturbatio./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 6  ׃15  בית צדיק חסן רב ובתבואת רשע נעכרת ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 7  
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
- Les lèvres des sages répandent la science, Mais le coeur des insensés n'est pas droit. (Ⅱ)
- χείλη σοφω̃ν δέδεται αἰσθήσει καρδίαι δὲ ἀφρόνων οὐκ ἀσφαλει̃ς (Ⅲ)
- Labia sapientium disseminabunt scientiam ;/ cor stultorum dissimile erit./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 7  ׃15  שפתי חכמים יזרו דעת ולב כסילים לא כן ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 8  
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
- Le sacrifice des méchants est en horreur à l'Éternel, Mais la prière des hommes droits lui est agréable. (Ⅱ)
- θυσίαι ἀσεβω̃ν βδέλυγμα κυρίω̨ εὐχαὶ δὲ κατευθυνόντων δεκταὶ παρ' αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ)
- Victimæ impiorum abominabiles Domino ;/ vota justorum placabilia./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 8  ׃15  זבח רשעים תועבת יהוה ותפלת ישרים רצונו ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 9  
The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
- La voie du méchant est en horreur à l'Éternel, Mais il aime celui qui poursuit la justice. (Ⅱ)
- βδέλυγμα κυρίω̨ ὁδοὶ ἀσεβου̃ς διώκοντας δὲ δικαιοσύνην ἀγαπα̨̃ (Ⅲ)
- Abominatio est Domino via impii ;/ qui sequitur justitiam diligitur ab eo./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 9  ׃15  תועבת יהוה דרך רשע ומרדף צדקה יאהב ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 10  
Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
- Une correction sévère menace celui qui abandonne le sentier; Celui qui hait la réprimande mourra. (Ⅱ)
- παιδεία ἀκάκου γνωρίζεται ὑπὸ τω̃ν παριόντων οἱ δὲ μισου̃ντες ἐλέγχους τελευτω̃σιν αἰσχρω̃ς (Ⅲ)
- Doctrina mala deserenti viam vitæ ;/ qui increpationes odit, morietur./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 10 ׃15  מוסר רע לעזב ארח שונא תוכחת ימות ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 11  
Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
- Le séjour des morts et l'abîme sont devant l'Éternel; Combien plus les coeurs des fils de l'homme! (Ⅱ)
- ἅ̨δης καὶ ἀπώλεια φανερὰ παρὰ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ πω̃ς οὐχὶ καὶ αἱ καρδίαι τω̃ν ἀνθρώπων (Ⅲ)
- Infernus et perditio coram Domino ;/ quanto magis corda filiorum hominum !/ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 11 ׃15  שאול ואבדון נגד יהוה אף כי לבות בני אדם ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 12  
A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
- Le moqueur n'aime pas qu'on le reprenne, Il ne va point vers les sages. (Ⅱ)
- οὐκ ἀγαπήσει ἀπαίδευτος τοὺς ἐλέγχοντας αὐτόν μετὰ δὲ σοφω̃ν οὐχ ὁμιλήσει (Ⅲ)
- Non amat pestilens eum qui se corripit,/ nec ad sapientes graditur.]\ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 12 ׃15  לא יאהב לץ הוכח לו אל חכמים לא ילך ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 13  
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
- Un coeur joyeux rend le visage serein; Mais quand le coeur est triste, l'esprit est abattu. (Ⅱ)
- καρδίας εὐφραινομένης πρόσωπον θάλλει ἐν δὲ λύπαις οὔσης σκυθρωπάζει (Ⅲ)
- Cor gaudens exhilarat faciem ;/ in mœrore animi dejicitur spiritus./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 13 ׃15  לב שמח ייטב פנים ובעצבת לב רוח נכאה ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 14  
The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
- Un coeur intelligent cherche la science, Mais la bouche des insensés se plaît à la folie. (Ⅱ)
- καρδία ὀρθὴ ζητει̃ αἴσθησιν στόμα δὲ ἀπαιδεύτων γνώσεται κακά (Ⅲ)
- Cor sapientis quærit doctrinam,/ et os stultorum pascitur imperitia./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 14 ׃15  לב נבון יבקש דעת *ופני **ופי כסילים ירעה אולת ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 15  
All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
- Tous les jours du malheureux sont mauvais, Mais le coeur content est un festin perpétuel. (Ⅱ)
- πάντα τὸν χρόνον οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ τω̃ν κακω̃ν προσδέχονται κακά οἱ δὲ ἀγαθοὶ ἡσυχάζουσιν διὰ παντός (Ⅲ)
- Omnes dies pauperis, mali ;/ secura mens quasi juge convivium./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 15 ׃15  כל ימי עני רעים וטוב לב משתה תמיד ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 16  
Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
- Mieux vaut peu, avec la crainte de l'Éternel, Qu'un grand trésor, avec le trouble. (Ⅱ)
- κρείσσων μικρὰ μερὶς μετὰ φόβου κυρίου ἢ θησαυροὶ μεγάλοι μετὰ ἀφοβίας (Ⅲ)
- Melius est parum cum timore Domini,/ quam thesauri magni et insatiabiles./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 16 ׃15  טוב מעט ביראת יהוה מאוצר רב ומהומה בו ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 17  
Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
- Mieux vaut de l'herbe pour nourriture, là où règne l'amour, Qu'un boeuf engraissé, si la haine est là. (Ⅱ)
- κρείσσων ξενισμὸς λαχάνων πρὸς φιλίαν καὶ χάριν ἢ παράθεσις μόσχων μετὰ ἔχθρας (Ⅲ)
- Melius est vocari ad olera cum caritate,/ quam ad vitulum saginatum cum odio./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 17 ׃15  טוב ארחת ירק ואהבה שם משור אבוס ושנאה בו ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 18  
A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
- Un homme violent excite des querelles, Mais celui qui est lent à la colère apaise les disputes. (Ⅱ)
- ἀνὴρ θυμώδης παρασκευάζει μάχας μακρόθυμος δὲ καὶ τὴν μέλλουσαν καταπραΰνει (Ⅲ)
- Vir iracundus provocat rixas ;/ qui patiens est mitigat suscitatas./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 18 ׃15  איש חמה יגרה מדון וארך‪[U]‬ אפים ישקיט ריב ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 19  
The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
- Le chemin du paresseux est comme une haie d'épines, Mais le sentier des hommes droits est aplani. (Ⅱ)
- ὁδοὶ ἀεργω̃ν ἐστρωμέναι ἀκάνθαις αἱ δὲ τω̃ν ἀνδρείων τετριμμέναι (Ⅲ)
- Iter pigrorum quasi sepes spinarum ;/ via justorum absque offendiculo./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 19 ׃15  דרך עצל כמשכת חדק וארח ישרים סללה ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 20  
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
- Un fils sage fait la joie de son père, Et un homme insensé méprise sa mère. (Ⅱ)
- υἱὸς σοφὸς εὐφραίνει πατέρα υἱὸς δὲ ἄφρων μυκτηρίζει μητέρα αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)
- Filius sapiens lætificat patrem,/ et stultus homo despicit matrem suam./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 20 ׃15  בן חכם ישמח אב וכסיל אדם בוזה אמו ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 21  
Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
- La folie est une joie pour celui qui est dépourvu de sens, Mais un homme intelligent va le droit chemin. (Ⅱ)
- ἀνοήτου τρίβοι ἐνδεει̃ς φρενω̃ν ἀνὴρ δὲ φρόνιμος κατευθύνων πορεύεται (Ⅲ)
- Stultitia gaudium stulto,/ et vir prudens dirigit gressus suos./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 21 ׃15  אולת שמחה לחסר לב ואיש תבונה יישר לכת‪[Q]‬‪[n]‬‪[p]‬ ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 22  
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
- Les projets échouent, faute d'une assemblée qui délibère; Mais ils réussissent quand il y a de nombreux conseillers. (Ⅱ)
- ὑπερτίθενται λογισμοὺς οἱ μὴ τιμω̃ντες συνέδρια ἐν δὲ καρδίαις βουλευομένων μένει βουλή (Ⅲ)
- Dissipantur cogitationes ubi non est consilium ;/ ubi vero sunt plures consiliarii, confirmantur./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 22 ׃15  הפר מחשבות באין סוד וברב יועצים תקום ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 23  
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
- On éprouve de la joie à donner une réponse de sa bouche; Et combien est agréable une parole dite à propos! (Ⅱ)
- οὐ μὴ ὑπακούση̨ ὁ κακὸς αὐτη̨̃ οὐδὲ μὴ εἴπη̨ καίριόν τι καὶ καλὸν τω̨̃ κοινω̨̃ (Ⅲ)
- Lætatur homo in sententia oris sui,/ et sermo opportunus est optimus./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 23 ׃15  שמחה לאיש במענה פיו ודבר בעתו מה טוב ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 24  
The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
- Pour le sage, le sentier de la vie mène en haut, Afin qu'il se détourne du séjour des morts qui est en bas. (Ⅱ)
- ὁδοὶ ζωη̃ς διανοήματα συνετου̃ ἵνα ἐκκλίνας ἐκ του̃ ἅ̨δου σωθη̨̃ (Ⅲ)
- Semita vitæ super eruditum,/ ut declinet de inferno novissimo.]\ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 24 ׃15  ארח חיים למעלה למשכיל למען סור משאול מטה ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 25  
The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
- L'Éternel renverse la maison des orgueilleux, Mais il affermit les bornes de la veuve. (Ⅱ)
- οἴκους ὑβριστω̃ν κατασπα̨̃ κύριος ἐστήρισεν δὲ ὅριον χήρας (Ⅲ)
- Domum superborum demolietur Dominus,/ et firmos faciet terminos viduæ./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 25 ׃15  בית גאים יסח יהוה ויצב גבול אלמנה ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 26  
The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
- Les pensées mauvaises sont en horreur à l'Éternel, Mais les paroles agréables sont pures à ses yeux. (Ⅱ)
- βδέλυγμα κυρίω̨ λογισμὸς ἄδικος ἁγνω̃ν δὲ ῥήσεις σεμναί (Ⅲ)
- Abominatio Domini cogitationes malæ,/ et purus sermo pulcherrimus firmabitur ab eo./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 26 ׃15  תועבת יהוה מחשבות רע וטהרים אמרי נעם ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 27  
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
- Celui qui est avide de gain trouble sa maison, Mais celui qui hait les présents vivra. (Ⅱ)
- ἐξόλλυσιν ἑαυτὸν ὁ δωρολήμπτης ὁ δὲ μισω̃ν δώρων λήμψεις σώ̨ζεται (Ⅲ)
- Conturbat domum suam qui sectatur avaritiam ;/ qui autem odit munera, vivet./ Per misericordiam et fidem purgantur peccata :/ per timorem autem Domini declinat omnis a malo./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 27 ׃15  עכר ביתו בוצע בצע ושונא מתנת יחיה ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 28  
The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
- Le coeur du juste médite pour répondre, Mais la bouche des méchants répand des méchancetés. (Ⅱ)
- καρδίαι δικαίων μελετω̃σιν πίστεις στόμα δὲ ἀσεβω̃ν ἀποκρίνεται κακά (Ⅲ)
- Mens justi meditatur obedientiam ;/ os impiorum redundat malis./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 28 ׃15  לב צדיק יהגה לענות ופי רשעים יביע רעות ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 29  
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
- L'Éternel s'éloigne des méchants, Mais il écoute la prière des justes. (Ⅱ)
- μακρὰν ἀπέχει ὁ θεὸς ἀπὸ ἀσεβω̃ν εὐχαι̃ς δὲ δικαίων ἐπακούει (Ⅲ)
- Longe est Dominus ab impiis,/ et orationes justorum exaudiet./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 29 ׃15  רחוק יהוה מרשעים ותפלת צדיקים ישמע ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 30  
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
- Ce qui plaît aux yeux réjouit le coeur; Une bonne nouvelle fortifie les membres. (Ⅱ)
- θεωρω̃ν ὀφθαλμὸς καλὰ εὐφραίνει καρδίαν φήμη δὲ ἀγαθὴ πιαίνει ὀστα̃ (Ⅲ)
- Lux oculorum lætificat animam ;/ fama bona impinguat ossa./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 30 ׃15  מאור עינים ישמח לב שמועה טובה תדשן עצם ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 31  
The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
- L'oreille attentive aux réprimandes qui mènent à la vie Fait son séjour au milieu des sages. (Ⅱ)
- Auris quæ audit increpationes vitæ/ in medio sapientium commorabitur./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 31 ׃15  אזן שמעת‪[Q]‬‪[c]‬ תוכחת חיים בקרב חכמים תלין ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 32  
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
- Celui qui rejette la correction méprise son âme, Mais celui qui écoute la réprimande acquiert l'intelligence. (Ⅱ)
- ὃς ἀπωθει̃ται παιδείαν μισει̃ ἑαυτόν ὁ δὲ τηρω̃ν ἐλέγχους ἀγαπα̨̃ ψυχὴν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)
- Qui abjicit disciplinam despicit animam suam ;/ qui autem acquiescit increpationibus possessor est cordis./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 32 ׃15  פורע מוסר‪[Q]‬‪[c]‬ מואס נפשו ושומע תוכחת קונה לב ‬ (Ⅴ)
15. 33  
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
- La crainte de l'Éternel enseigne la sagesse, Et l'humilité précède la gloire. (Ⅱ)
- φόβος θεου̃ παιδεία καὶ σοφία καὶ ἀρχὴ δόξης ἀποκριθήσεται αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ)
- Timor Domini disciplina sapientiæ,/ et gloriam præcedit humilitas.] (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 33 ׃15  יראת יהוה מוסר חכמה ולפני כבוד ענוה ‬ (Ⅴ)
