Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.
- Approchez, nations, pour entendre! Peuples, soyez attentifs! Que la terre écoute, elle et ce qui la remplit, Le monde et tout ce qu'il produit! (Ⅱ) - προσαγάγετε ἔθνη καὶ ἀκούσατε ἄρχοντες ἀκουσάτω ἡ γη̃ καὶ οἱ ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἡ οἰκουμένη καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὁ ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Accedite, gentes, et audite ;/ et populi, attendite :/ audiat terra, et plenitudo ejus ;/ orbis, et omne germen ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃34 קרבו גוים לשמע ולאמים הקשיבו תשמע הארץ ומלאה תבל וכל צאצאיה (Ⅴ)

For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
- Car la colère de l'Éternel va fondre sur toutes les nations, Et sa fureur sur toute leur armée: Il les voue à l'extermination, Il les livre au carnage. (Ⅱ) - διότι θυμὸς κυρίου ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη καὶ ὀργὴ ἐπὶ τὸν ἀριθμὸν αὐτω̃ν του̃ ἀπολέσαι αὐτοὺς καὶ παραδου̃ναι αὐτοὺς εἰς σφαγήν (Ⅲ) - Quia indignatio Domini super omnes gentes,/ et furor super universam militiam eorum :/ interfecit eos, et dedit eos in occisionem./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃34 כי קצף ליהוה על כל הגוים וחמה על כל צבאם החרימם נתנם לטבח (Ⅴ)

Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
- Leurs morts sont jetés, Leurs cadavres exhalent la puanteur, Et les montagnes se fondent dans leur sang. (Ⅱ) - οἱ δὲ τραυματίαι αὐτω̃ν ῥιφήσονται καὶ οἱ νεκροί καὶ ἀναβήσεται αὐτω̃ν ἡ ὀσμή καὶ βραχήσεται τὰ ὄρη ἀπὸ του̃ αἵματος αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Interfecti eorum projicientur,/ et de cadaveribus eorum ascendet fœtor ;/ tabescent montes a sanguine eorum./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃34 וחלליהם ישלכו ופגריהם יעלה באשם ונמסו הרים מדמם (Ⅴ)

And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
- Toute l'armée des cieux se dissout; Les cieux sont roulés comme un livre, Et toute leur armée tombe, Comme tombe la feuille de la vigne, Comme tombe celle du figuier. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἑλιγήσεται ὁ οὐρανὸς ὡς βιβλίον καὶ πάντα τὰ ἄστρα πεσει̃ται ὡς φύλλα ἐξ ἀμπέλου καὶ ὡς πίπτει φύλλα ἀπὸ συκη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Et tabescet omnis militia cælorum,/ et complicabuntur sicut liber cæli :/ et omnis militia eorum defluet,/ sicut defluit folium de vinea et de ficu./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃34 ונמקו כל צבא השמים ונגלו כספר השמים וכל צבאם יבול כנבל עלה מגפן וכנבלת מתאנה (Ⅴ)

For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
- Mon épée s'est enivrée dans les cieux; Voici, elle va descendre sur Édom, Sur le peuple que j'ai voué à l'extermination, pour le châtier. (Ⅱ) - ἐμεθύσθη ἡ μάχαιρά μου ἐν τω̨̃ οὐρανω̨̃ ἰδοὺ ἐπὶ τὴν Ιδουμαίαν καταβήσεται καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν τη̃ς ἀπωλείας μετὰ κρίσεως (Ⅲ) - Quoniam inebriatus est in cælo gladius meus ;/ ecce super Idumæam descendet,/ et super populum interfectionis meæ, ad judicium./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃34 כי רותה בשמים חרבי הנה על אדום תרד ועל עם חרמי למשפט (Ⅴ)

The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
- L'épée de l'Éternel est pleine de sang, couverte de graisse, Du sang des agneaux et des boucs, De la graisse des reins des béliers; Car il y a des victimes de l'Éternel à Botsra, Et un grand carnage dans le pays d'Édom, (Ⅱ) - ἡ μάχαιρα κυρίου ἐνεπλήσθη αἵματος ἐπαχύνθη ἀπὸ στέατος ἀρνω̃ν καὶ ἀπὸ στέατος τράγων καὶ κριω̃ν ὅτι θυσία κυρίω̨ ἐν Βοσορ καὶ σφαγὴ μεγάλη ἐν τη̨̃ Ιδουμαία̨ (Ⅲ) - Gladius Domini repletus est sanguine,/ incrassatus est adipe,/ de sanguine agnorum et hircorum,/ de sanguine medullatorum arietum :/ victima enim Domini in Bosra,/ et interfectio magna in terra Edom./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃34 חרב ליהוה מלאה דם הדשנה מחלב מדם כרים ועתודים מחלב כליות אילים כי זבח ליהוה בבצרה וטבח גדול בארץ אדום (Ⅴ)

And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
- Les buffles tombent avec eux, Et les boeufs avec les taureaux; La terre s'abreuve de sang, Et le sol est imprégné de graisse. (Ⅱ) - καὶ συμπεσου̃νται οἱ ἁδροὶ μετ' αὐτω̃ν καὶ οἱ κριοὶ καὶ οἱ ταυ̃ροι καὶ μεθυσθήσεται ἡ γη̃ ἀπὸ του̃ αἵματος καὶ ἀπὸ του̃ στέατος αὐτω̃ν ἐμπλησθήσεται (Ⅲ) - Et descendent unicornes cum eis,/ et tauri cum potentibus ;/ inebriabitur terra eorum sanguine,/ et humus eorum adipe pinguium./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃34 וירדו ראמים עמם ופרים עם אבירים ורותה ארצם מדם ועפרם מחלב ידשן (Ⅴ)

For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
- Car c'est un jour de vengeance pour l'Éternel, Une année de représailles pour la cause de Sion. (Ⅱ) - ἡμέρα γὰρ κρίσεως κυρίου καὶ ἐνιαυτὸς ἀνταποδόσεως κρίσεως Σιων (Ⅲ) - Quia dies ultionis Domini,/ annus retributionum judicii Sion./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃34 כי יום נקם ליהוה שנת שלומים לריב ציון (Ⅴ)

And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
- Les torrents d'Édom seront changés en poix, Et sa poussière en soufre; Et sa terre sera comme de la poix qui brûle. (Ⅱ) - καὶ στραφήσονται αὐτη̃ς αἱ φάραγγες εἰς πίσσαν καὶ ἡ γη̃ αὐτη̃ς εἰς θει̃ον καὶ ἔσται αὐτη̃ς ἡ γη̃ καιομένη ὡς πίσσα (Ⅲ) - Et convertentur torrentes ejus in picem,/ et humus ejus in sulphur ;/ et erit terra ejus in picem ardentem./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃34 ונהפכו נחליה לזפת ועפרה לגפרית והיתה ארצה לזפת בערה (Ⅴ)

It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
- Elle ne s'éteindra ni jour ni nuit, La fumée s'en élèvera éternellement; D'âge en âge elle sera désolée, A tout jamais personne n'y passera. (Ⅱ) - νυκτὸς καὶ ἡμέρας καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να χρόνον καὶ ἀναβήσεται ὁ καπνὸς αὐτη̃ς ἄνω εἰς γενεὰς ἐρημωθήσεται καὶ εἰς χρόνον πολύν (Ⅲ) - Nocte et die non extinguetur,/ in sempiternum ascendet fumus ejus,/ a generatione in generationem desolabitur,/ in sæcula sæculorum non erit transiens per eam./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃34 לילה ויומם לא תכבה לעולם יעלה עשנה מדור לדור תחרב לנצח נצחים אין עבר בה (Ⅴ)

But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness.
- Le pélican et le hérisson la posséderont, La chouette et le corbeau l'habiteront. On y étendra le cordeau de la désolation, Et le niveau de la destruction. (Ⅱ) - καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ὄρνεα καὶ ἐχι̃νοι καὶ ἴβεις καὶ κόρακες καὶ ἐπιβληθήσεται ἐπ' αὐτὴν σπαρτίον γεωμετρίας ἐρήμου καὶ ὀνοκένταυροι οἰκήσουσιν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Et possidebunt illam onocrotalus et ericius ;/ ibis et corvus habitabunt in ea :/ et extendetur super eam mensura, ut redigatur ad nihilum,/ et perpendiculum in desolationem./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃34 וירשוה קאת וקפוד וינשוף וערב ישכנו בה ונטה עליה קו תהו ואבני בהו (Ⅴ)

They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there, and all her princes shall be nothing.
- Il n'y aura plus de grands pour proclamer un roi, Tous ses princes seront anéantis. (Ⅱ) - οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτη̃ς οὐκ ἔσονται οἱ γὰρ βασιλει̃ς αὐτη̃ς καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτη̃ς καὶ οἱ μεγιστα̃νες αὐτη̃ς ἔσονται εἰς ἀπώλειαν (Ⅲ) - Nobiles ejus non erunt ibi ; regem potius invocabunt,/ et omnes principes ejus erunt in nihilum./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃34 חריה ואין שם מלוכה יקראו וכל שריה יהיו אפס (Ⅴ)

And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.
- Les épines croîtront dans ses palais, Les ronces et les chardons dans ses forteresses. Ce sera la demeure des chacals, Le repaire des autruches; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀναφύσει εἰς τὰς πόλεις αὐτω̃ν ἀκάνθινα ξύλα καὶ εἰς τὰ ὀχυρώματα αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἔσται ἔπαυλις σειρήνων καὶ αὐλὴ στρουθω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et orientur in domibus ejus spinæ et urticæ,/ et paliurus in munitionibus ejus ;/ et erit cubile draconum,/ et pascua struthionum./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃34 ועלתה ארמנתיה סירים קמוש וחוח במבצריה והיתה נוה תנים חציר לבנות יענה (Ⅴ)

The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.
- Les animaux du désert y rencontreront les chiens sauvages, Et les boucs s'y appelleront les uns les autres; Là le spectre de la nuit aura sa demeure, Et trouvera son lieu de repos; (Ⅱ) - καὶ συναντήσουσιν δαιμόνια ὀνοκενταύροις καὶ βοήσουσιν ἕτερος πρὸς τὸν ἕτερον ἐκει̃ ἀναπαύσονται ὀνοκένταυροι εὑ̃ρον γὰρ αὑτοι̃ς ἀνάπαυσιν (Ⅲ) - Et occurrent dæmonia onocentauris,/ et pilosus clamabit alter ad alterum ;/ ibi cubavit lamia,/ et invenit sibi requiem./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃34 ופגשו ציים את איים ושעיר על רעהו יקרא אך שם הרגיעה לילית ומצאה לה מנוח (Ⅴ)

There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate.
- Là le serpent fera son nid, déposera ses oeufs, Les couvera, et recueillera ses petits à son ombre; Là se rassembleront tous les vautours. (Ⅱ) - ἐκει̃ ἐνόσσευσεν ἐχι̃νος καὶ ἔσωσεν ἡ γη̃ τὰ παιδία αὐτη̃ς μετὰ ἀσφαλείας ἐκει̃ ἔλαφοι συνήντησαν καὶ εἰ̃δον τὰ πρόσωπα ἀλλήλων (Ⅲ) - Ibi habuit foveam ericius, et enutrivit catulos,/ et circumfodit, et fovit in umbra ejus ;/ illuc congregati sunt milvi, alter ad alterum./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃34 שמה קננה קפוז ותמלט ובקעה ודגרה בצלה אך שם נקבצו דיות אשה רעותה (Ⅴ)

Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
- Consultez le livre de l'Éternel, et lisez! Aucun d'eux ne fera défaut, Ni l'un ni l'autre ne manqueront; Car sa bouche l'a ordonné. C'est son esprit qui les rassemblera. (Ⅱ) - ἀριθμω̨̃ παρη̃λθον καὶ μία αὐτω̃ν οὐκ ἀπώλετο ἑτέρα τὴν ἑτέραν οὐκ ἐζήτησαν ὅτι κύριος ἐνετείλατο αὐτοι̃ς καὶ τὸ πνευ̃μα αὐτου̃ συνήγαγεν αὐτάς (Ⅲ) - Requirite diligenter in libro Domini, et legite :/ Unum ex eis non defuit,/ alter alterum non quæsivit ;/ quia quod ex ore meo procedit, ille mandavit,/ et spiritus ejus ipse congregavit ea./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃34 דרשו מעל ספר יהוה וקראו אחת מהנה לא נעדרה אשה רעותה לא פקדו כי פי הוא צוה ורוחו הוא קבצן (Ⅴ)

And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
- Il a jeté pour eux le sort, Et sa main leur a partagé cette terre au cordeau, Ils la posséderont toujours, Ils l'habiteront d'âge en âge. (Ⅱ) - καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπιβαλει̃ αὐτοι̃ς κλήρους καὶ ἡ χεὶρ αὐτου̃ διεμέρισεν βόσκεσθαι εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να χρόνον κληρονομήσετε εἰς γενεὰς γενεω̃ν ἀναπαύσονται ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Et ipse misit eis sortem,/ et manus ejus divisit eam illis in mensuram :/ usque in æternum possidebunt eam ;/ in generationem et generationem habitabunt in ea.] (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃34 והוא הפיל להן גורל וידו חלקתה להם בקו עד עולם יירשוה לדור ודור ישכנו בה ס (Ⅴ)
