Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
- Écoutez ceci, maison de Jacob, Vous qui portez le nom d'Israël, Et qui êtes sortis des eaux de Juda; Vous qui jurez par le nom de l'Éternel, Et qui invoquez le Dieu d'Israël, Mais sans vérité ni droiture! (Ⅱ) - ἀκούσατε ταυ̃τα οἰ̃κος Ιακωβ οἱ κεκλημένοι τω̨̃ ὀνόματι Ισραηλ καὶ οἱ ἐξ Ιουδα ἐξελθόντες οἱ ὀμνύοντες τω̨̃ ὀνόματι κυρίου θεου̃ Ισραηλ μιμνη̨σκόμενοι οὐ μετὰ ἀληθείας οὐδὲ μετὰ δικαιοσύνης (Ⅲ) - Audite hæc, domus Jacob,/ qui vocamini nomine Israël,/ et de aquis Juda existis ;/ qui juratis in nomine Domini,/ et Dei Israël recordamini/ non in veritate neque in justitia./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃48 שמעו זאת בית יעקב הנקראים בשם ישראל וממי יהודה יצאו הנשבעים בשם יהוה ובאלהי ישראל יזכירו לא באמת ולא בצדקה (Ⅴ)

For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.
- Car ils prennent leur nom de la ville sainte, Et ils s'appuient sur le Dieu d'Israël, Dont le nom est l'Éternel des armées. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀντεχόμενοι τω̨̃ ὀνόματι τη̃ς πόλεως τη̃ς ἁγίας καὶ ἐπὶ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ του̃ Ισραηλ ἀντιστηριζόμενοι κύριος σαβαωθ ὄνομα αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - De civitate enim sancta vocati sunt,/ et super Deum Israël constabiliti sunt :/ Dominus exercituum nomen ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃48 כי מעיר הקדש נקראו ועל אלהי ישראל נסמכו יהוה צבאות שמו ס (Ⅴ)

I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.
- Dès longtemps j'ai fait les premières prédictions, Elles sont sorties de ma bouche, et je les ai publiées: Soudain j'ai agi, et elles se sont accomplies. (Ⅱ) - τὰ πρότερα ἔτι ἀνήγγειλα καὶ ἐκ του̃ στόματός μου ἐξη̃λθεν καὶ ἀκουστὸν ἐγένετο ἐξάπινα ἐποίησα καὶ ἐπη̃λθεν (Ⅲ) - Priora ex tunc annuntiavi,/ et ex ore meo exierunt, et audita feci ea :/ repente operatus sum, et venerunt./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃48 הראשנות מאז הגדתי ומפי יצאו ואשמיעם פתאם עשיתי ותבאנה (Ⅴ)

Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;
- Sachant que tu es endurci, Que ton cou est une barre de fer, Et que tu as un front d'airain, (Ⅱ) - γινώσκω ἐγὼ ὅτι σκληρὸς εἰ̃ καὶ νευ̃ρον σιδηρου̃ν ὁ τράχηλός σου καὶ τὸ μέτωπόν σου χαλκου̃ν (Ⅲ) - Scivi enim quia durus es tu,/ et nervus ferreus cervix tua,/ et frons tua ærea./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃48 מדעתי כי קשה אתה וגיד ברזל ערפך ומצחך נחושה (Ⅴ)

I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
- Je t'ai annoncé dès longtemps ces choses, je te les ai déclarées avant qu'elles arrivassent, Afin que tu ne dises pas: C'est mon idole qui les a faites, C'est mon image taillée ou mon image en fonte qui les a ordonnées. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνήγγειλά σοι πάλαι πρὶν ἐλθει̃ν ἐπὶ σὲ ἀκουστόν σοι ἐποίησα μὴ εἴπη̨ς ὅτι τὰ εἴδωλά μου ἐποίησαν καὶ μὴ εἴπη̨ς ὅτι τὰ γλυπτὰ καὶ τὰ χωνευτὰ ἐνετείλατό μοι (Ⅲ) - Prædixi tibi ex tunc ;/ antequam venirent, indicavi tibi,/ ne forte diceres : Idola mea fecerunt hæc,/ et sculptilia mea et conflatilia mandaverunt ista./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃48 ואגיד לך מאז בטרם תבוא השמעתיך פן תאמר עצבי עשם ופסלי ונסכי צום (Ⅴ)

Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.
- Tu entends! Considère tout cela! Et vous, ne l'avouerez-vous pas?... Maintenant, je t'annonce des choses nouvelles, Cachées, inconnues de toi. (Ⅱ) - ἠκούσατε πάντα καὶ ὑμει̃ς οὐκ ἔγνωτε ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀκουστά σοι ἐποίησα τὰ καινὰ ἀπὸ του̃ νυ̃ν ἃ μέλλει γίνεσθαι καὶ οὐκ εἰ̃πας (Ⅲ) - Quæ audisti, vide omnia ;/ vos autem, num annuntiastis ?/ Audita feci tibi nova ex tunc,/ et conservata sunt quæ nescis./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃48 שמעת חזה כלה ואתם הלוא תגידו השמעתיך חדשות מעתה ונצרות ולא ידעתם (Ⅴ)

They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.
- Elles se produisent à présent, et n'appartiennent point au passé; Jusqu'à leur avènement tu n'en avais aucune connaissance, Afin que tu ne dises pas: Voici, je le savais. (Ⅱ) - νυ̃ν γίνεται καὶ οὐ πάλαι καὶ οὐ προτέραις ἡμέραις ἤκουσας αὐτά μὴ εἴπη̨ς ὅτι ναί γινώσκω αὐτά (Ⅲ) - Nunc creata sunt et non ex tunc ;/ et ante diem, et non audisti ea,/ ne forte dicas : Ecce ego cognovi ea./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃48 עתה נבראו ולא מאז ולפני יום ולא שמעתם פן תאמר הנה ידעתין (Ⅴ)

Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
- Tu n'en as rien appris, tu n'en as rien su, Et jadis ton oreille n'en a point été frappée: Car je savais que tu serais infidèle, Et que dès ta naissance tu fus appelé rebelle. (Ⅱ) - οὔτε ἔγνως οὔτε ἠπίστω οὔτε ἀπ' ἀρχη̃ς ἤνοιξά σου τὰ ὠ̃τα ἔγνων γὰρ ὅτι ἀθετω̃ν ἀθετήσεις καὶ ἄνομος ἔτι ἐκ κοιλίας κληθήση̨ (Ⅲ) - Neque audisti, neque cognovisti,/ neque ex tunc aperta est auris tua :/ scio enim quia prævaricans prævaricaberis,/ et transgressorem ex utero vocavi te./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃48 גם לא שמעת גם לא ידעת גם מאז לא פתחה אזנך כי ידעתי בגוד תבגוד ופשע מבטן קרא לך (Ⅴ)

For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
- A cause de mon nom, je suspends ma colère; A cause de ma gloire, je me contiens envers toi, Pour ne pas t'exterminer. (Ⅱ) - ἕνεκεν του̃ ἐμου̃ ὀνόματος δείξω σοι τὸν θυμόν μου καὶ τὰ ἔνδοξά μου ἐπάξω ἐπὶ σοί ἵνα μὴ ἐξολεθρεύσω σε (Ⅲ) - Propter nomen meum longe faciam furorem meum,/ et laude mea infrenabo te,/ ne intereas./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃48 למען שמי אאריך אפי ותהלתי אחטם לך לבלתי הכריתך (Ⅴ)

Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
- Je t'ai mis au creuset, mais non pour retirer de l'argent; Je t'ai éprouvé dans la fournaise de l'adversité. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ πέπρακά σε οὐχ ἕνεκεν ἀργυρίου ἐξειλάμην δέ σε ἐκ καμίνου πτωχείας (Ⅲ) - Ecce excoxi te, sed non quasi argentum ;/ elegi te in camino paupertatis./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃48 הנה צרפתיך ולא בכסף בחרתיך בכור עני (Ⅴ)

For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.
- C'est pour l'amour de moi, pour l'amour de moi, que je veux agir; Car comment mon nom serait-il profané? Je ne donnerai pas ma gloire à un autre. (Ⅱ) - ἕνεκεν ἐμου̃ ποιήσω σοι ὅτι τὸ ἐμὸν ὄνομα βεβηλου̃ται καὶ τὴν δόξαν μου ἑτέρω̨ οὐ δώσω (Ⅲ) - Propter me, propter me faciam,/ ut non blasphemer ;/ et gloriam meam alteri non dabo./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃48 למעני למעני אעשה כי איך יחל וכבודי לאחר לא אתן ס (Ⅴ)

Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
- Écoute-moi, Jacob! Et toi, Israël, que j'ai appelé! C'est moi, moi qui suis le premier, C'est aussi moi qui suis le dernier. (Ⅱ) - ἄκουέ μου Ιακωβ καὶ Ισραηλ ὃν ἐγὼ καλω̃ ἐγώ εἰμι πρω̃τος καὶ ἐγώ εἰμι εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να (Ⅲ) - Audi me, Jacob,/ et Israël, quem ego voco :/ ego ipse, ego primus,/ et ego novissimus./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃48 שמע אלי יעקב וישראל מקראי אני הוא אני ראשון אף אני אחרון (Ⅴ)

Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
- Ma main a fondé la terre, Et ma droite a étendu les cieux: Je les appelle, et aussitôt ils se présentent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἡ χείρ μου ἐθεμελίωσεν τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ἡ δεξιά μου ἐστερέωσεν τὸν οὐρανόν καλέσω αὐτούς καὶ στήσονται ἅμα (Ⅲ) - Manus quoque mea fundavit terram,/ et dextera mea mensa est cælos ;/ ego vocabo eos,/ et stabunt simul./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃48 אף ידי יסדה ארץ וימיני טפחה שמים קרא אני אליהם יעמדו יחדו (Ⅴ)

All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.
- Vous tous, assemblez-vous, et écoutez! Qui d'entre eux a annoncé ces choses? Celui que l'Éternel aime exécutera sa volonté contre Babylone, Et son bras s'appesantira sur les Chaldéens. (Ⅱ) - καὶ συναχθήσονται πάντες καὶ ἀκούσονται τίς αὐτοι̃ς ἀνήγγειλεν ταυ̃τα ἀγαπω̃ν σε ἐποίησα τὸ θέλημά σου ἐπὶ Βαβυλω̃να του̃ ἀ̃ραι σπέρμα Χαλδαίων (Ⅲ) - Congregamini, omnes vos, et audite :/ quis de eis annuntiavit hæc ?/ Dominus dilexit eum, faciet voluntatem suam in Babylone,/ et brachium suum in Chaldæis./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃48 הקבצו כלכם ושמעו מי בהם הגיד את אלה יהוה אהבו יעשה חפצו בבבל וזרעו כשדים (Ⅴ)

I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
- Moi, moi, j'ai parlé, et je l'ai appelé; Je l'ai fait venir, et son oeuvre réussira. (Ⅱ) - ἐγὼ ἐλάλησα ἐγὼ ἐκάλεσα ἤγαγον αὐτὸν καὶ εὐόδωσα τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Ego, ego locutus sum, et vocavi eum ;/ adduxi eum, et directa est via ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃48 אני אני דברתי אף קראתיו הביאתיו והצליח דרכו (Ⅴ)

Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
- Approchez-vous de moi, et écoutez! Dès le commencement, je n'ai point parlé en cachette, Dès l'origine de ces choses, j'ai été là. Et maintenant, le Seigneur, l'Éternel, m'a envoyé avec son esprit. (Ⅱ) - προσαγάγετε πρός με καὶ ἀκούσατε ταυ̃τα οὐκ ἀπ' ἀρχη̃ς ἐν κρυφη̨̃ ἐλάλησα οὐδὲ ἐν τόπω̨ γη̃ς σκοτεινω̨̃ ἡνίκα ἐγένετο ἐκει̃ ἤμην καὶ νυ̃ν κύριος ἀπέσταλκέν με καὶ τὸ πνευ̃μα αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Accedite ad me et audite hoc :/ non a principio in abscondito locutus sum :/ ex tempore antequam fieret, ibi eram :/ et nunc Dominus Deus misit me,/ et spiritus ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃48 קרבו אלי שמעו זאת לא מראש בסתר דברתי מעת היותה שם אני ועתה אדני יהוה שלחני ורוחו פ (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel, ton rédempteur, le Saint d'Israël: Moi, l'Éternel, ton Dieu, je t'instruis pour ton bien, Je te conduis dans la voie que tu dois suivre. (Ⅱ) - οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ ῥυσάμενός σε ὁ ἅγιος Ισραηλ ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεός σου δέδειχά σοι του̃ εὑρει̃ν σε τὴν ὁδόν ἐν ἡ̨̃ πορεύση̨ ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Hæc dicit Dominus, redemptor tuus,/ Sanctus Israël :/ Ego Dominus Deus tuus,/ docens te utilia,/ gubernans te in via qua ambulas./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃48 כה אמר יהוה גאלך קדוש ישראל אני יהוה אלהיך מלמדך להועיל מדריכך בדרך תלך (Ⅴ)

O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
- Oh! si tu étais attentif à mes commandements! Ton bien-être serait comme un fleuve, Et ton bonheur comme les flots de la mer; (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ ἤκουσας τω̃ν ἐντολω̃ν μου ἐγένετο ἂν ὡσεὶ ποταμὸς ἡ εἰρήνη σου καὶ ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου ὡς κυ̃μα θαλάσσης (Ⅲ) - Utinam attendisses mandata mea :/ facta fuisset sicut flumen pax tua,/ et justitia tua sicut gurgites maris :/ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃48 לוא הקשבת למצותי ויהי כנהר שלומך וצדקתך כגלי הים (Ⅴ)

Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
- Ta postérité serait comme le sable, Et les fruits de tes entrailles comme les grains de sable; Ton nom ne serait point effacé, anéanti devant moi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἂν ὡς ἡ ἄμμος τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ τὰ ἔκγονα τη̃ς κοιλίας σου ὡς ὁ χου̃ς τη̃ς γη̃ς οὐδὲ νυ̃ν οὐ μὴ ἐξολεθρευθη̨̃ς οὐδὲ ἀπολει̃ται τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐνώπιόν μου (Ⅲ) - et fuisset quasi arena semen tuum,/ et stirps uteri tui ut lapilli ejus ;/ non interisset et non fuisset attritum/ nomen ejus a facie mea./ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃48 ויהי כחול זרעך וצאצאי מעיך כמעתיו לא יכרת ולא ישמד שמו מלפני (Ⅴ)

Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
- Sortez de Babylone, fuyez du milieu des Chaldéens! Avec une voix d'allégresse annoncez-le, publiez-le, Faites-le savoir jusqu'à l'extrémité de la terre, Dites: L'Éternel a racheté son serviteur Jacob! (Ⅱ) - ἔξελθε ἐκ Βαβυλω̃νος φεύγων ἀπὸ τω̃ν Χαλδαίων φωνὴν εὐφροσύνης ἀναγγείλατε καὶ ἀκουστὸν γενέσθω του̃το ἀπαγγείλατε ἕως ἐσχάτου τη̃ς γη̃ς λέγετε ἐρρύσατο κύριος τὸν δου̃λον αὐτου̃ Ιακωβ (Ⅲ) - Egredimini de Babylone, fugite a Chaldæis,/ in voce exsultationis annuntiate :/ auditum facite hoc,/ et efferte illud usque ad extrema terræ./ Dicite : Redemit Dominus/ servum suum Jacob./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃48 צאו מבבל ברחו מכשדים בקול רנה הגידו השמיעו זאת הוציאוה עד קצה הארץ אמרו גאל יהוה עבדו יעקב (Ⅴ)

And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.
- Et ils n'auront pas soif dans les déserts où il les conduira: Il fera jaillir pour eux l'eau du rocher, Il fendra le rocher, Et l'eau coulera. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐὰν διψήσωσιν δι' ἐρήμου ἄξει αὐτούς ὕδωρ ἐκ πέτρας ἐξάξει αὐτοι̃ς σχισθήσεται πέτρα καὶ ῥυήσεται ὕδωρ καὶ πίεται ὁ λαός μου (Ⅲ) - Non sitierunt in deserto, cum educeret eos :/ aquam de petra produxit eis,/ et scidit petram, et fluxerunt aquæ./ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃48 ולא צמאו בחרבות הוליכם מים מצור הזיל למו ויבקע צור ויזבו מים (Ⅴ)

There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
- Il n'y a point de paix pour les méchants, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - οὐκ ἔστιν χαίρειν τοι̃ς ἀσεβέσιν λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Non est pax impiis, dicit Dominus.] (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃48 אין שלום אמר יהוה לרשעים ס (Ⅴ)
