51. 1

Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.

- Écoutez-moi, vous qui poursuivez la justice, Qui cherchez l'Éternel! Portez les regards sur le rocher d'où vous avez été taillés, Sur le creux de la fosse d'où vous avez été tirés. (Ⅱ)

- ἀκούσατέ μου οἱ διώκοντες τὸ δίκαιον καὶ ζητου̃ντες τὸν κύριον ἐμβλέψατε εἰς τὴν στερεὰν πέτραν ἣν ἐλατομήσατε καὶ εἰς τὸν βόθυνον του̃ λάκκου ὃν ὠρύξατε (Ⅲ)

- Audite me, qui sequimini quod justum est,/ et quæritis Dominum ;/ attendite ad petram unde excisi estis,/ et ad cavernam laci de qua præcisi estis./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃51 שמעו אלי רדפי צדק מבקשי יהוה הביטו אל צור חצבתם ואל מקבת בור נקרתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 2

Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

- Portez les regards sur Abraham votre père, Et sur Sara qui vous a enfantés; Car lui seul je l'ai appelé, Je l'ai béni et multiplié. (Ⅱ)

- ἐμβλέψατε εἰς Αβρααμ τὸν πατέρα ὑμω̃ν καὶ εἰς Σαρραν τὴν ὠδίνουσαν ὑμα̃ς ὅτι εἱ̃ς ἠ̃ν καὶ ἐκάλεσα αὐτὸν καὶ εὐλόγησα αὐτὸν καὶ ἠγάπησα αὐτὸν καὶ ἐπλήθυνα αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Attendite ad Abraham, patrem vestrum,/ et ad Saram, quæ peperit vos :/ quia unum vocavi eum,/ et benedixi ei, et multiplicavi eum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃51 הביטו אל אברהם אביכם ואל שרה תחוללכם כי אחד קראתיו ואברכהו וארבהו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 3

For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

- Ainsi l'Éternel a pitié de Sion, Il a pitié de toutes ses ruines; Il rendra son désert semblable à un Éden, Et sa terre aride à un jardin de l'Éternel. La joie et l'allégresse se trouveront au milieu d'elle, Les actions de grâces et le chant des cantiques. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ σὲ νυ̃ν παρακαλέσω Σιων καὶ παρεκάλεσα πάντα τὰ ἔρημα αὐτη̃ς καὶ θήσω τὰ ἔρημα αὐτη̃ς ὡς παράδεισον κυρίου εὐφροσύνην καὶ ἀγαλλίαμα εὑρήσουσιν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἐξομολόγησιν καὶ φωνὴν αἰνέσεως (Ⅲ)

- Consolabitur ergo Dominus Sion,/ et consolabitur omnes ruinas ejus :/ et ponet desertum ejus quasi delicias,/ et solitudinem ejus quasi hortum Domini./ Gaudium et lætitia invenietur in ea,/ gratiarum actio et vox laudis./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃51 כי נחם יהוה ציון נחם כל חרבתיה וישם מדברה כעדן וערבתה כגן יהוה ששון ושמחה ימצא בה תודה וקול זמרה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 4

Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.

- Mon peuple, sois attentif! Ma nation, prête-moi l'oreille! Car la loi sortira de moi, Et j'établirai ma loi pour être la lumière des peuples. (Ⅱ)

- ἀκούσατέ μου ἀκούσατε λαός μου καὶ οἱ βασιλει̃ς πρός με ἐνωτίσασθε ὅτι νόμος παρ' ἐμου̃ ἐξελεύσεται καὶ ἡ κρίσις μου εἰς φω̃ς ἐθνω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Attendite ad me, popule meus,/ et tribus mea, me audite :/ quia lex a me exiet,/ et judicium meum in lucem populorum requiescet./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃51 הקשיבו אלי עמי ולאומי אלי האזינו כי תורה מאתי תצא ומשפטי לאור עמים ארגיע ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 5

My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.

- Ma justice est proche, mon salut va paraître, Et mes bras jugeront les peuples; Les îles espéreront en moi, Elles se confieront en mon bras. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγγίζει ταχὺ ἡ δικαιοσύνη μου καὶ ἐξελεύσεται ὡς φω̃ς τὸ σωτήριόν μου καὶ εἰς τὸν βραχίονά μου ἔθνη ἐλπιου̃σιν ἐμὲ νη̃σοι ὑπομενου̃σιν καὶ εἰς τὸν βραχίονά μου ἐλπιου̃σιν (Ⅲ)

- Prope est justus meus, egressus est salvator meus,/ et brachia mea populos judicabunt ;/ me insulæ exspectabunt,/ et brachium meum sustinebunt./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃51 קרוב צדקי יצא ישעי וזרעי עמים ישפטו אלי איים יקוו ואל זרעי ייחלון ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 6

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

- Levez les yeux vers le ciel, et regardez en bas sur la terre! Car les cieux s'évanouiront comme une fumée, La terre tombera en lambeaux comme un vêtement, Et ses habitants périront comme des mouches; Mais mon salut durera éternellement, Et ma justice n'aura point de fin. (Ⅱ)

- ἄρατε εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἐμβλέψατε εἰς τὴν γη̃ν κάτω ὅτι ὁ οὐρανὸς ὡς καπνὸς ἐστερεώθη ἡ δὲ γη̃ ὡς ἱμάτιον παλαιωθήσεται οἱ δὲ κατοικου̃ντες τὴν γη̃ν ὥσπερ ταυ̃τα ἀποθανου̃νται τὸ δὲ σωτήριόν μου εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να ἔσται ἡ δὲ δικαιοσύνη μου οὐ μὴ ἐκλίπη̨ (Ⅲ)

- Levate in cælum oculos vestros,/ et videte sub terra deorsum :/ quia cæli sicut fumus liquescent,/ et terra sicut vestimentum atteretur,/ et habitatores ejus sicut hæc interibunt :/ salus autem mea in sempiternum erit,/ et justitia mea non deficiet./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃51 שאו לשמים עיניכם והביטו אל הארץ מתחת כי שמים כעשן נמלחו והארץ כבגד תבלה וישביה כמו כן ימותון וישועתי לעולם תהיה וצדקתי לא תחת ס‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 7

Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

- Écoutez-moi, vous qui connaissez la justice, Peuple, qui as ma loi dans ton coeur! Ne craignez pas l'opprobre des hommes, Et ne tremblez pas devant leurs outrages. (Ⅱ)

- ἀκούσατέ μου οἱ εἰδότες κρίσιν λαός μου οὑ̃ ὁ νόμος μου ἐν τη̨̃ καρδία̨ ὑμω̃ν μὴ φοβει̃σθε ὀνειδισμὸν ἀνθρώπων καὶ τω̨̃ φαυλισμω̨̃ αὐτω̃ν μὴ ἡττα̃σθε (Ⅲ)

- Audite me, qui scitis justum,/ populus meus, lex mea in corde eorum :/ nolite timere opprobrium hominum,/ et blasphemias eorum ne metuatis :/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃51 שמעו אלי ידעי צדק עם תורתי בלבם אל תיראו חרפת אנוש ומגדפתם אל תחתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 8

For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.

- Car la teigne les dévorera comme un vêtement, Et la gerce les rongera comme de la laine; Mais ma justice durera éternellement, Et mon salut s'étendra d'âge en âge. (Ⅱ)

- ὥσπερ γὰρ ἱμάτιον βρωθήσεται ὑπὸ χρόνου καὶ ὡς ἔρια βρωθήσεται ὑπὸ σητός ἡ δὲ δικαιοσύνη μου εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να ἔσται τὸ δὲ σωτήριόν μου εἰς γενεὰς γενεω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- sicut enim vestimentum, sic comedet eos vermis,/ et sicut lanam, sic devorabit eos tinea :/ salus autem mea in sempiternum erit,/ et justitia mea in generationes generationum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃51 כי כבגד יאכלם עש וכצמר יאכלם סס וצדקתי לעולם תהיה וישועתי לדור דורים ס‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 9

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

- Réveille-toi, réveille-toi! revêts-toi de force, bras de l'Éternel! Réveille-toi, comme aux jours d'autrefois, Dans les anciens âges! N'est-ce pas toi qui abattis l'Égypte, Qui transperças le monstre? (Ⅱ)

- ἐξεγείρου ἐξεγείρου Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἔνδυσαι τὴν ἰσχὺν του̃ βραχίονός σου ἐξεγείρου ὡς ἐν ἀρχη̨̃ ἡμέρας ὡς γενεὰ αἰω̃νος οὐ σὺ εἰ̃ (Ⅲ)

- Consurge, consurge, induere fortitudinem,/ brachium Domini !/ consurge sicut in diebus antiquis,/ in generationibus sæculorum./ Numquid non tu percussisti superbum,/ vulnerasti draconem ?/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃51 עורי עורי לבשי עז זרוע יהוה עורי כימי קדם דרות עולמים הלוא את היא המחצבת רהב מחוללת תנין ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 10

Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?

- N'est-ce pas toi qui mis à sec la mer, Les eaux du grand abîme, Qui frayas dans les profondeurs de la mer Un chemin pour le passage des rachetés? (Ⅱ)

- ἡ ἐρημου̃σα θάλασσαν ὕδωρ ἀβύσσου πλη̃θος ἡ θει̃σα τὰ βάθη τη̃ς θαλάσσης ὁδὸν διαβάσεως ῥυομένοις (Ⅲ)

- numquid non tu siccasti mare,/ aquam abyssi vehementis ;/ qui posuisti profundum maris viam,/ ut transirent liberati ?/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃51 הלוא את היא המחרבת ים מי תהום רבה השמה מעמקי ים דרך לעבר גאולים ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 11

Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

- Ainsi les rachetés de l'Éternel retourneront, Ils iront à Sion avec chants de triomphe, Et une joie éternelle couronnera leur tête; L'allégresse et la joie s'approcheront, La douleur et les gémissements s'enfuiront. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ λελυτρωμένοις ὑπὸ γὰρ κυρίου ἀποστραφήσονται καὶ ἥξουσιν εἰς Σιων μετ' εὐφροσύνης καὶ ἀγαλλιάματος αἰωνίου ἐπὶ γὰρ τη̃ς κεφαλη̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἀγαλλίασις καὶ αἴνεσις καὶ εὐφροσύνη καταλήμψεται αὐτούς ἀπέδρα ὀδύνη καὶ λύπη καὶ στεναγμός (Ⅲ)

- Et nunc qui redempti sunt a Domino, revertentur,/ et venient in Sion laudantes,/ et lætitia sempiterna super capita eorum :/ gaudium et lætitiam tenebunt ;/ fugiet dolor et gemitus./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃51 ופדויי יהוה ישובון ובאו ציון ברנה ושמחת עולם על ראשם ששון ושמחה ישיגון נסו יגון ואנחה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 12

I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;

- C'est moi, c'est moi qui vous console. Qui es-tu, pour avoir peur de l'homme mortel, Et du fils de l'homme, pareil à l'herbe? (Ⅱ)

- ἐγώ εἰμι ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ παρακαλω̃ν σε γνω̃θι τίνα εὐλαβηθει̃σα ἐφοβήθης ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου θνητου̃ καὶ ἀπὸ υἱου̃ ἀνθρώπου οἳ ὡσεὶ χόρτος ἐξηράνθησαν (Ⅲ)

- Ego, ego ipse consolabor vos./ Quis tu, ut timeres ab homine mortali,/ et a filio hominis qui quasi fœnum ita arescet ?/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃51 אנכי אנכי הוא מנחמכם מי את ותיראי מאנוש ימות ומבן אדם חציר ינתן ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 13

And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

- Et tu oublierais l'Éternel, qui t'a fait, Qui a étendu les cieux et fondé la terre! Et tu tremblerais incessamment tout le jour Devant la colère de l'oppresseur, Parce qu'il cherche à détruire! Où donc est la colère de l'oppresseur? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπελάθου θεὸν τὸν ποιήσαντά σε τὸν ποιήσαντα τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ θεμελιώσαντα τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ἐφόβου ἀεὶ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τὸ πρόσωπον του̃ θυμου̃ του̃ θλίβοντός σε ὃν τρόπον γὰρ ἐβουλεύσατο του̃ ἀ̃ραί σε καὶ νυ̃ν που̃ ὁ θυμὸς του̃ θλίβοντός σε (Ⅲ)

- Et oblitus es Domini, factoris tui,/ qui tetendit cælos et fundavit terram ;/ et formidasti jugiter tota die/ a facie furoris ejus qui te tribulabat,/ et paraverat ad perdendum./ Ubi nunc est furor tribulantis ?/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃51 ותשכח יהוה עשך נוטה שמים ויסד ארץ ותפחד תמיד כל היום מפני חמת המציק כאשר כונן להשחית ואיה חמת המציק ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 14

The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.

- Bientôt celui qui est courbé sous les fers sera délivré; Il ne mourra pas dans la fosse, Et son pain ne lui manquera pas. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν γὰρ τω̨̃ σώ̨ζεσθαί σε οὐ στήσεται οὐδὲ χρονιει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Cito veniet gradiens ad aperiendum ;/ et non interficiet usque ad internecionem,/ nec deficiet panis ejus./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃51 מהר צעה להפתח ולא ימות לשחת ולא יחסר לחמו ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 15

But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name.

- Je suis l'Éternel, ton Dieu, Qui soulève la mer et fais mugir ses flots. L'Éternel des armées est son nom. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἐγὼ ὁ θεός σου ὁ ταράσσων τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ ἠχω̃ν τὰ κύματα αὐτη̃ς κύριος σαβαωθ ὄνομά μοι (Ⅲ)

- Ego autem sum Dominus Deus tuus,/ qui conturbo mare, et intumescunt fluctus ejus :/ Dominus exercituum nomen meum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃51 ואנכי יהוה אלהיך רגע הים ויהמו גליו יהוה צבאות שמו ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 16

And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

- Je mets mes paroles dans ta bouche, Et je te couvre de l'ombre de ma main, Pour étendre de nouveaux cieux et fonder une nouvelle terre, Et pour dire à Sion: Tu es mon peuple! (Ⅱ)

- θήσω τοὺς λόγους μου εἰς τὸ στόμα σου καὶ ὑπὸ τὴν σκιὰν τη̃ς χειρός μου σκεπάσω σε ἐν ἡ̨̃ ἔστησα τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἐθεμελίωσα τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ἐρει̃ Σιων λαός μου εἰ̃ σύ (Ⅲ)

- Posui verba mea in ore tuo,/ et in umbra manus meæ protexi te,/ ut plantes cælos, et fundes terram,/ et dicas ad Sion : Populus meus es tu.]\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃51 ואשים דברי בפיך ובצל ידי כסיתיך לנטע שמים וליסד ארץ ולאמר לציון עמי אתה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 17

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.

- Réveille-toi, réveille-toi! lève-toi, Jérusalem, Qui as bu de la main de l'Éternel la coupe de sa colère, Qui as bu, sucé jusqu'à la lie la coupe d'étourdissement! (Ⅱ)

- ἐξεγείρου ἐξεγείρου ἀνάστηθι Ιερουσαλημ ἡ πιου̃σα τὸ ποτήριον του̃ θυμου̃ ἐκ χειρὸς κυρίου τὸ ποτήριον γὰρ τη̃ς πτώσεως τὸ κόνδυ του̃ θυμου̃ ἐξέπιες καὶ ἐξεκένωσας (Ⅲ)

- Elevare, elevare,/ consurge, Jerusalem,/ quæ bibisti de manu Domini/ calicem iræ ejus ;/ usque ad fundum calicis soporis bibisti,/ et potasti usque ad fæces./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃51 התעוררי התעוררי קומי ירושלם אשר שתית מיד יהוה את כוס חמתו את קבעת כוס התרעלה שתית מצית ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 18

There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath brought up.

- Il n'y en a aucun pour la conduire De tous les fils qu'elle a enfantés, Il n'y en a aucun pour la prendre par la main De tous les fils qu'elle a élevés. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ὁ παρακαλω̃ν σε ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν τέκνων σου ὡ̃ν ἔτεκες καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ὁ ἀντιλαμβανόμενος τη̃ς χειρός σου οὐδὲ ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν υἱω̃ν σου ὡ̃ν ὕψωσας (Ⅲ)

- Non est qui sustentet eam,/ ex omnibus filiis quos genuit ;/ et non est qui apprehendat manum ejus,/ ex omnibus filiis quos enutrivit./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃51 אין מנהל לה מכל בנים ילדה ואין מחזיק בידה מכל בנים גדלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 19

These two things are come unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?

- Ces deux choses te sont arrivées: -Qui te plaindra? -Le ravage et la ruine, la famine et l'épée. -Qui suis-je pour te consoler? - (Ⅱ)

- δύο ταυ̃τα ἀντικείμενά σοι τίς σοι συλλυπηθήσεται πτω̃μα καὶ σύντριμμα λιμὸς καὶ μάχαιρα τίς σε παρακαλέσει (Ⅲ)

- Duo sunt quæ occurrerunt tibi ;/ quis contristabitur super te ?/ Vastitas, et contritio, et fames, et gladius ;/ quis consolabitur te ?/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃51 שתים הנה קראתיך מי ינוד לך השד והשבר והרעב והחרב מי אנחמך ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 20

Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a net: they are full of the fury of the LORD, the rebuke of thy God.

- Tes fils en défaillance gisaient à tous les coins de rues, Comme le cerf dans un filet, Chargés de la colère de l'Éternel, Des menaces de ton Dieu. (Ⅱ)

- οἱ υἱοί σου οἱ ἀπορούμενοι οἱ καθεύδοντες ἐπ' ἄκρου πάσης ἐξόδου ὡς σευτλίον ἡμίεφθον οἱ πλήρεις θυμου̃ κυρίου ἐκλελυμένοι διὰ κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Filii tui projecti sunt, dormierunt/ in capite omnium viarum/ sicut oryx illaqueatus,/ pleni indignatione Domini,/ increpatione Dei tui./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃51 בניך עלפו שכבו בראש כל חוצות כתוא מכמר המלאים חמת יהוה גערת אלהיך ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 21

Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:

- C'est pourquoi, écoute ceci, malheureuse, Ivre, mais non de vin! (Ⅱ)

- διὰ του̃το ἄκουε τεταπεινωμένη καὶ μεθύουσα οὐκ ἀπὸ οἴνου (Ⅲ)

- Idcirco audi hoc, paupercula,/ et ebria non a vino./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃51 לכן שמעי נא זאת עניה ושכרת ולא מיין ס‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 22

Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:

- Ainsi parle ton Seigneur, l'Éternel, Ton Dieu, qui défend son peuple: Voici, je prends de ta main la coupe d'étourdissement, La coupe de ma colère; Tu ne la boiras plus! (Ⅱ)

- οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ κρίνων τὸν λαὸν αὐτου̃ ἰδοὺ εἴληφα ἐκ τη̃ς χειρός σου τὸ ποτήριον τη̃ς πτώσεως τὸ κόνδυ του̃ θυμου̃ καὶ οὐ προσθήση̨ ἔτι πιει̃ν αὐτό (Ⅲ)

- ‫ 22 ׃51 כה אמר אדניך יהוה ואלהיך יריב עמו הנה לקחתי מידך את כוס התרעלה את קבעת כוס חמתי לא תוסיפי לשתותה עוד ‬ (Ⅴ)

51. 23

But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.

- Je la mettrai dans la main de tes oppresseurs, Qui te disaient: Courbe-toi, et nous passerons! Tu faisais alors de ton dos comme une terre, Comme une rue pour les passants. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐμβαλω̃ αὐτὸ εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας τω̃ν ἀδικησάντων σε καὶ τω̃ν ταπεινωσάντων σε οἳ εἰ̃παν τη̨̃ ψυχη̨̃ σου κύψον ἵνα παρέλθωμεν καὶ ἔθηκας ἴσα τη̨̃ γη̨̃ τὰ μετάφρενά σου ἔξω τοι̃ς παραπορευομένοις (Ⅲ)

- Et ponam illum in manu eorum qui te humiliaverunt,/ et dixerunt animæ tuæ :/ Incurvare, ut transeamus ;/ et posuisti ut terram corpus tuum,/ et quasi viam transeuntibus.] (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃51 ושמתיה ביד מוגיך אשר אמרו לנפשך שחי ונעברה ותשימי כארץ גוך וכחוץ לעברים ס‬ (Ⅴ)
