And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.
- Il arriva, du temps d'Achaz, fils de Jotham, fils d'Ozias, roi de Juda, que Retsin, roi de Syrie, monta avec Pékach, fils de Remalia, roi d'Israël, contre Jérusalem, pour l'assiéger; mais il ne put l'assiéger. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις Αχαζ του̃ Ιωαθαμ του̃ υἱου̃ Οζιου βασιλέως Ιουδα ἀνέβη Ραασσων βασιλεὺς Αραμ καὶ Φακεε υἱὸς Ρομελιου βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ πολεμη̃σαι αὐτὴν καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνήθησαν πολιορκη̃σαι αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - Et factum est in diebus Achaz, filii Joathan, filii Oziæ, regis Juda, ascendit Rasin, rex Syriæ, et Phacee, filius Romeliæ, rex Israël, in Jerusalem, ad præliandum contra eam : et non potuerunt (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃7 ויהי בימי אחז בן יותם בן עזיהו מלך יהודה עלה רצין מלך ארם ופקח בן רמליהו מלך ישראל ירושלם למלחמה עליה ולא יכל להלחם עליה (Ⅴ)

And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.
- On vint dire à la maison de David: Les Syriens sont campés en Éphraïm. Et le coeur d'Achaz et le coeur de son peuple furent agités, comme les arbres de la forêt sont agités par le vent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνηγγέλη εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον Δαυιδ λέγοντες συνεφώνησεν Αραμ πρὸς τὸν Εφραιμ καὶ ἐξέστη ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτου̃ καὶ ἡ ψυχὴ του̃ λαου̃ αὐτου̃ ὃν τρόπον ὅταν ἐν δρυμω̨̃ ξύλον ὑπὸ πνεύματος σαλευθη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - debellare eam. Et nuntiaverunt domui David, dicentes : Requievit Syria super Ephraim. Et commotum est cor ejus, et cor populi ejus, sicut moventur ligna silvarum a facie venti. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃7 ויגד לבית דוד לאמר נחה ארם על אפרים וינע לבבו ולבב עמו כנוע עצי יער מפני רוח (Ⅴ)

Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field;
- Alors l'Éternel dit à Ésaïe: Va à la rencontre d'Achaz, toi et Schear Jaschub, ton fils, vers l'extrémité de l'aqueduc de l'étang supérieur, sur la route du champ du foulon. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς Ησαιαν ἔξελθε εἰς συνάντησιν Αχαζ σὺ καὶ ὁ καταλειφθεὶς Ιασουβ ὁ υἱός σου πρὸς τὴν κολυμβήθραν τη̃ς ἄνω ὁδου̃ του̃ ἀγρου̃ του̃ γναφέως (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Dominus ad Isaiam : Egredere in occursum Achaz, tu et qui derelictus est Jasub, filius tuus, ad extremum aquæductus piscinæ superioris in via agri Fullonis ; (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃7 ויאמר יהוה אל ישעיהו צא נא לקראת אחז אתה ושאר ישוב בנך אל קצה תעלת הברכה העליונה אל מסלת שדה כובס (Ⅴ)

And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
- Et dis-lui: Sois tranquille, ne crains rien, Et que ton coeur ne s'alarme pas, Devant ces deux bouts de tisons fumants, Devant la colère de Retsin et de la Syrie, et du fils de Remalia, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐρει̃ς αὐτω̨̃ φύλαξαι του̃ ἡσυχάσαι καὶ μὴ φοβου̃ μηδὲ ἡ ψυχή σου ἀσθενείτω ἀπὸ τω̃ν δύο ξύλων τω̃ν δαλω̃ν τω̃ν καπνιζομένων τούτων ὅταν γὰρ ὀργὴ του̃ θυμου̃ μου γένηται πάλιν ἰάσομαι (Ⅲ) - et dices ad eum : [Vide ut sileas ; noli timere,/ et cor tuum ne formidet/ a duabus caudis titionum fumigantium istorum,/ in ira furoris Rasin, regis Syriæ, et filii Romeliæ ;/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃7 ואמרת אליו השמר והשקט אל תירא ולבבך אל ירך משני זנבות האודים העשנים האלה בחרי אף רצין וארם ובן רמליהו (Ⅴ)

Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,
- De ce que la Syrie médite du mal contre toi, De ce qu'Éphraïm et le fils de Remalia disent: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὁ υἱὸς του̃ Αραμ καὶ ὁ υἱὸς του̃ Ρομελιου ὅτι ἐβουλεύσαντο βουλὴν πονηρὰν περὶ σου̃ λέγοντες (Ⅲ) - eo quod consilium inierit contra te Syria in malum,/ Ephraim, et filius Romeliæ, dicentes :/ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃7 יען כי יעץ עליך ארם רעה אפרים ובן רמליהו לאמר (Ⅴ)

Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:
- Montons contre Juda, assiégeons la ville, Et battons-la en brèche, Et proclamons-y pour roi le fils de Tabeel. (Ⅱ) - ἀναβησόμεθα εἰς τὴν Ιουδαίαν καὶ συλλαλήσαντες αὐτοι̃ς ἀποστρέψομεν αὐτοὺς πρὸς ἡμα̃ς καὶ βασιλεύσομεν αὐτη̃ς τὸν υἱὸν Ταβεηλ (Ⅲ) - Ascendamus ad Judam,/ et suscitemus eum, et avellamus eum ad nos,/ et ponamus regem in medio ejus filium Tabeel./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃7 נעלה ביהודה ונקיצנה ונבקענה אלינו ונמליך מלך בתוכה את בן טבאל ס (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
- Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Cela n'arrivera pas, cela n'aura pas lieu. (Ⅱ) - τάδε λέγει κύριος σαβαωθ οὐ μὴ ἐμμείνη̨ ἡ βουλὴ αὕτη οὐδὲ ἔσται (Ⅲ) - Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :/ Non stabit, et non erit istud ;/ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃7 כה אמר אדני יהוה לא תקום ולא תהיה (Ⅴ)

For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.
- Car Damas est la tête de la Syrie, Et Retsin est la tête de Damas. (Encore soixante-cinq ans, Éphraïm ne sera plus un peuple.) (Ⅱ) - ἀλλ' ἡ κεφαλὴ Αραμ Δαμασκός ἀλλ' ἔτι ἑξήκοντα καὶ πέντε ἐτω̃ν ἐκλείψει ἡ βασιλεία Εφραιμ ἀπὸ λαου̃ (Ⅲ) - sed caput Syriæ Damascus,/ et caput Damasci Rasin ;/ et adhuc sexaginta et quinque anni,/ et desinet Ephraim esse populus ;/ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃7 כי ראש ארם דמשק וראש דמשק רצין ובעוד ששים וחמש שנה יחת אפרים מעם (Ⅴ)

And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
- La Samarie est la tête d'Éphraïm, Et le fils de Remalia est la tête de la Samarie. Si vous ne croyez pas, Vous ne subsisterez pas. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἡ κεφαλὴ Εφραιμ Σομορων καὶ ἡ κεφαλὴ Σομορων υἱὸς του̃ Ρομελιου καὶ ἐὰν μὴ πιστεύσητε οὐδὲ μὴ συνη̃τε (Ⅲ) - et caput Ephraim Samaria,/ et caput Samariæ filius Romeliæ./ Si non credideritis, non permanebitis.] (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃7 וראש אפרים שמרון וראש שמרון בן רמליהו אם לא תאמינו כי לא תאמנו ס (Ⅴ)

Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying,
- L'Éternel parla de nouveau à Achaz, et lui dit: (Ⅱ) - καὶ προσέθετο κύριος λαλη̃σαι τω̨̃ Αχαζ λέγων (Ⅲ) - Et adjecit Dominus loqui ad Achaz, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃7 ויוסף יהוה דבר אל אחז לאמר (Ⅴ)

Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.
- Demande en ta faveur un signe à l'Éternel, ton Dieu; demande-le, soit dans les lieux bas, soit dans les lieux élevés. (Ⅱ) - αἴτησαι σεαυτω̨̃ σημει̃ον παρὰ κυρίου θεου̃ σου εἰς βάθος ἢ εἰς ὕψος (Ⅲ) - Pete tibi signum a Domino Deo tuo, in profundum inferni, sive in excelsum supra. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃7 שאל לך אות מעם יהוה אלהיך העמק שאלה או הגבה למעלה (Ⅴ)

But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.
- Achaz répondit: Je ne demanderai rien, je ne tenterai pas l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αχαζ οὐ μὴ αἰτήσω οὐδ' οὐ μὴ πειράσω κύριον (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Achaz : Non petam, et non tentabo Dominum. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃7 ויאמר אחז לא אשאל ולא אנסה את יהוה (Ⅴ)

And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
- Ésaïe dit alors: Écoutez donc, maison de David! Est-ce trop peu pour vous de lasser la patience des hommes, Que vous lassiez encore celle de mon Dieu? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἀκούσατε δή οἰ̃κος Δαυιδ μὴ μικρὸν ὑμι̃ν ἀγω̃να παρέχειν ἀνθρώποις καὶ πω̃ς κυρίω̨ παρέχετε ἀγω̃να (Ⅲ) - Et dixit : [Audite ergo, domus David./ Numquid parum vobis est molestos esse hominibus,/ quia molesti estis et Deo meo ?/ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃7 ויאמר שמעו נא בית דוד המעט מכם הלאות אנשים כי תלאו גם את אלהי (Ⅴ)

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
- C'est pourquoi le Seigneur lui-même vous donnera un signe, Voici, la jeune fille deviendra enceinte, elle enfantera un fils, Et elle lui donnera le nom d'Emmanuel. (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το δώσει κύριος αὐτὸς ὑμι̃ν σημει̃ον ἰδοὺ ἡ παρθένος ἐν γαστρὶ ἕξει καὶ τέξεται υἱόν καὶ καλέσεις τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ Εμμανουηλ (Ⅲ) - Propter hoc dabit Dominus ipse vobis signum :/ ecce virgo concipiet, et pariet filium,/ et vocabitur nomen ejus Emmanuel./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃7 לכן יתן אדני הוא לכם אות הנה העלמה הרה וילדת בן וקראת שמו עמנו אל (Ⅴ)

Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
- Il mangera de la crème et du miel, Jusqu'à ce qu'il sache rejeter le mal et choisir le bien. (Ⅱ) - βούτυρον καὶ μέλι φάγεται πρὶν ἢ γνω̃ναι αὐτὸν ἢ προελέσθαι πονηρὰ ἐκλέξεται τὸ ἀγαθόν (Ⅲ) - Butyrum et mel comedet,/ ut sciat reprobare malum, et eligere bonum./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃7 חמאה ודבש יאכל לדעתו מאוס ברע ובחור בטוב (Ⅴ)

For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.
- Mais avant que l'enfant sache rejeter le mal et choisir le bien, Le pays dont tu crains les deux rois sera abandonné. (Ⅱ) - διότι πρὶν ἢ γνω̃ναι τὸ παιδίον ἀγαθὸν ἢ κακὸν ἀπειθει̃ πονηρία̨ του̃ ἐκλέξασθαι τὸ ἀγαθόν καὶ καταλειφθήσεται ἡ γη̃ ἣν σὺ φοβη̨̃ ἀπὸ προσώπου τω̃ν δύο βασιλέων (Ⅲ) - Quia antequam sciat puer reprobare malum et eligere bonum,/ derelinquetur terra quam tu detestaris a facie duorum regum suorum./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃7 כי בטרם ידע הנער מאס ברע ובחר בטוב תעזב האדמה אשר אתה קץ מפני שני מלכיה (Ⅴ)

The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
- L'Éternel fera venir sur toi, Sur ton peuple et sur la maison de ton père, Des jours tels qu'il n'y en a point eu Depuis le jour où Éphraïm s'est séparé de Juda (Le roi d'Assyrie.) (Ⅱ) - ἀλλὰ ἐπάξει ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν σου καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ πατρός σου ἡμέρας αἳ οὔπω ἥκασιν ἀφ' ἡ̃ς ἡμέρας ἀφει̃λεν Εφραιμ ἀπὸ Ιουδα τὸν βασιλέα τω̃ν 'Ασσυρίων (Ⅲ) - Adducet Dominus super te, et super populum tuum,/ et super domum patris tui,/ dies qui non venerunt/ a diebus separationis Ephraim a Juda,/ cum rege Assyriorum./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃7 יביא יהוה עליך ועל עמך ועל בית אביך ימים אשר לא באו למיום סור אפרים מעל יהודה את מלך אשור פ (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
- En ce jour-là, l'Éternel sifflera les mouches Qui sont à l'extrémité des canaux de l'Égypte, Et les abeilles qui sont au pays d'Assyrie; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ συριει̃ κύριος μυίαις ὃ κυριεύει μέρους ποταμου̃ Αἰγύπτου καὶ τη̨̃ μελίσση̨ ἥ ἐστιν ἐν χώρα̨ 'Ασσυρίων (Ⅲ) - Et erit in die illa : sibilabit Dominus/ muscæ quæ est in extremo fluminum Ægypti,/ et api quæ est in terra Assur ;/ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃7 והיה ביום ההוא ישרק יהוה לזבוב אשר בקצה יארי מצרים ולדבורה אשר בארץ אשור (Ⅴ)

And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
- Elles viendront, et se poseront toutes dans les vallons désolés, Et dans les fentes des rochers, Sur tous les buissons, Et sur tous les pâturages. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐλεύσονται πάντες καὶ ἀναπαύσονται ἐν ται̃ς φάραγξι τη̃ς χώρας καὶ ἐν ται̃ς τρώγλαις τω̃ν πετρω̃ν καὶ εἰς τὰ σπήλαια καὶ εἰς πα̃σαν ῥαγάδα καὶ ἐν παντὶ ξύλω̨ (Ⅲ) - et venient, et requiescent omnes/ in torrentibus vallium,/ et in cavernis petrarum,/ et in omnibus frutetis, et in universis foraminibus./ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃7 ובאו ונחו כלם בנחלי הבתות ובנקיקי הסלעים ובכל הנעצוצים ובכל הנהללים (Ⅴ)

In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.
- En ce jour-là, le Seigneur rasera, avec un rasoir pris à louage Au delà du fleuve, Avec le roi d'Assyrie, La tête et le poil des pieds; Il enlèvera aussi la barbe. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ξυρήσει κύριος τω̨̃ ξυρω̨̃ τω̨̃ μεγάλω̨ καὶ μεμεθυσμένω̨ ὅ ἐστιν πέραν του̃ ποταμου̃ βασιλέως 'Ασσυρίων τὴν κεφαλὴν καὶ τὰς τρίχας τω̃ν ποδω̃ν καὶ τὸν πώγωνα ἀφελει̃ (Ⅲ) - In die illa radet Dominus/ in novacula conducta in his qui trans flumen sunt,/ in rege Assyriorum,/ caput et pilos pedum,/ et barbam universam./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃7 ביום ההוא יגלח אדני בתער השכירה בעברי נהר במלך אשור את הראש ושער הרגלים[c] וגם את הזקן תספה ס (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;
- En ce jour-là, Chacun entretiendra une jeune vache et deux brebis; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ θρέψει ἄνθρωπος δάμαλιν βοω̃ν καὶ δύο πρόβατα (Ⅲ) - Et erit in die illa :/ nutriet homo vaccam boum, et duas oves,/ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃7 והיה ביום ההוא יחיה איש עגלת בקר ושתי צאן (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.
- Et il y aura une telle abondance de lait Qu'on mangera de la crème, Car c'est de crème et de miel que se nourriront Tous ceux qui seront restés dans le pays. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἀπὸ του̃ πλει̃στον ποιει̃ν γάλα βούτυρον καὶ μέλι φάγεται πα̃ς ὁ καταλειφθεὶς ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - et præ ubertate lactis/ comedet butyrum ;/ butyrum enim et mel manducabit/ omnis qui relictus fuerit in medio terræ./ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃7 והיה מרב עשות חלב יאכל חמאה כי חמאה ודבש יאכל כל הנותר בקרב הארץ (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns.
- En ce jour-là, Tout lieu qui contiendra mille ceps de vigne, Valant mille sicles d'argent, Sera livré aux ronces et aux épines: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ πα̃ς τόπος οὑ̃ ἐὰν ὠ̃σιν χίλιαι ἄμπελοι χιλίων σίκλων εἰς χέρσον ἔσονται καὶ εἰς ἄκανθαν (Ⅲ) - Et erit in die illa : omnis locus ubi fuerint/ mille vites, mille argenteis,/ in spinas et in vepres erunt./ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃7 והיה ביום ההוא יהיה כל מקום אשר יהיה שם אלף גפן באלף כסף לשמיר ולשית יהיה (Ⅴ)

With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
- On y entrera avec les flèches et avec l'arc, Car tout le pays ne sera que ronces et épines. (Ⅱ) - μετὰ βέλους καὶ τοξεύματος εἰσελεύσονται ἐκει̃ ὅτι χέρσος καὶ ἄκανθα ἔσται πα̃σα ἡ γη̃ (Ⅲ) - Cum sagittis et arcu ingredientur illuc :/ vepres enim et spinæ erunt in universa terra./ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃7 בחצים ובקשת יבוא שמה כי שמיר ושית תהיה כל הארץ (Ⅴ)

And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
- Et toutes les montagnes que l'on cultivait avec la bêche Ne seront plus fréquentées, par crainte des ronces et des épines: On y lâchera le boeuf, et la brebis en foulera le sol. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πα̃ν ὄρος ἀροτριώμενον ἀροτριαθήσεται καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐπέλθη̨ ἐκει̃ φόβος ἔσται γὰρ ἀπὸ τη̃ς χέρσου καὶ ἀκάνθης εἰς βόσκημα προβάτου καὶ εἰς καταπάτημα βοός (Ⅲ) - Et omnes montes qui in sarculo sarrientur,/ non veniet illuc terror spinarum et veprium :/ et erit in pascua bovis, et in conculcationem pecoris.] (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃7 וכל ההרים אשר במעדר יעדרון לא תבוא שמה יראת שמיר ושית והיה למשלח שור ולמרמס שה פ (Ⅴ)
