Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
- La parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Jérémie une seconde fois, en ces mots, pendant qu'il était encore enfermé dans la cour de la prison: (Ⅱ) - Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam secundo, cum adhuc clausus esset in atrio carceris, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃33 ויהי דבר יהוה אל ירמיהו שנית והוא עודנו עצור בחצר המטרה לאמר (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel, qui fait ces choses, L'Éternel, qui les conçoit et les exécute, Lui, dont le nom est l'Éternel: (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus, qui facturus est,/ et formaturus illud, et paraturus :/ Dominus nomen ejus :/ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃33 כה אמר יהוה עשה יהוה יוצר אותה להכינה יהוה שמו (Ⅴ)

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
- Invoque-moi, et je te répondrai; Je t'annoncerai de grandes choses, des choses cachées, Que tu ne connais pas. (Ⅱ) - Clama ad me, et exaudiam te,/ et annuntiabo tibi grandia et firma quæ nescis./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃33 קרא אלי ואענך ואגידה לך גדלות ובצרות לא ידעתם ס (Ⅴ)

For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;
- Car ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, Sur les maisons de cette ville Et sur les maisons des rois de Juda, Qui seront abattues par les terrasses et par l'épée, (Ⅱ) - Quia hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël/ ad domos urbis hujus,/ et ad domos regis Juda, quæ destructæ sunt,/ et ad munitiones, et ad gladium/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃33 כי כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל על בתי העיר הזאת ועל בתי מלכי יהודה הנתצים אל הסללות ואל החרב (Ⅴ)

They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.
- Quand on s'avancera pour combattre les Chaldéens, Et qu'elles seront remplies des cadavres des hommes Que je frapperai dans ma colère et dans ma fureur, Et à cause de la méchanceté desquels je cacherai ma face à cette ville; (Ⅱ) - venientium ut dimicent cum Chaldæis,/ et impleant eas cadaveribus hominum/ quos percussi in furore meo et in indignatione mea,/ abscondens faciem meam a civitate hac,/ propter omnem malitiam eorum :/ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃33 באים להלחם את הכשדים ולמלאם את פגרי האדם אשר הכיתי באפי ובחמתי ואשר הסתרתי פני מהעיר הזאת על כל רעתם (Ⅴ)

Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
- Voici, je lui donnerai la guérison et la santé, je les guérirai, Et je leur ouvrirai une source abondante de paix et de fidélité. (Ⅱ) - Ecce ego obducam eis cicatricem et sanitatem,/ et curabo eos, et revelabo illis deprecationem pacis et veritatis./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃33 הנני מעלה לה ארכה ומרפא ורפאתים וגליתי להם עתרת שלום ואמת (Ⅴ)

And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
- Je ramènerai les captifs de Juda et les captifs d'Israël, Et je les rétablirai comme autrefois. (Ⅱ) - Et convertam conversionem Juda et conversionem Jerusalem,/ et ædificabo eos sicut a principio./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃33 והשבתי את שבות יהודה ואת שבות ישראל ובנתים כבראשנה (Ⅴ)

And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
- Je les purifierai de toutes les iniquités qu'ils ont commises contre moi, Je leur pardonnerai toutes les iniquités par lesquelles ils m'ont offensé, Par lesquelles ils se sont révoltés contre moi. (Ⅱ) - Et emundabo illos ab omni iniquitate sua/ in qua peccaverunt mihi,/ et propitius ero cunctis iniquitatibus eorum,/ in quibus dereliquerunt mihi et spreverunt me./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃33 וטהרתים מכל עונם אשר חטאו לי וסלחתי *לכול **לכל עונותיהם אשר חטאו לי ואשר פשעו בי (Ⅴ)

And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.
- Cette ville sera pour moi un sujet de joie, de louange et de gloire, Parmi toutes les nations de la terre, Qui apprendront tout le bien que je leur ferai; Elles seront étonnées et émues de tout le bonheur Et de toute la postérité que je leur accorderai. (Ⅱ) - Et erit mihi in nomen, et in gaudium,/ et in laudem, et in exsultationem/ cunctis gentibus terræ,/ quæ audierint omnia bona quæ ego facturus sum eis :/ et pavebunt et turbabuntur in universis bonis,/ et in omni pace quam ego faciam eis./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃33 והיתה לי לשם ששון לתהלה ולתפארת לכל גויי הארץ אשר ישמעו את כל הטובה אשר אנכי עשה אתם ופחדו ורגזו על כל הטובה ועל כל השלום אשר אנכי עשה לה ס (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: On entendra encore dans ce lieu Dont vous dites: Il est désert, il n'y a plus d'hommes, plus de bêtes; On entendra dans les villes de Juda et dans les rues de Jérusalem, Dévastées, privées d'hommes, d'habitants, de bêtes, (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus :/ Adhuc audietur in loco isto/ quem vos dicitis esse desertum,/ eo quod non sit homo nec jumentum/ in civitatibus Juda, et foris Jerusalem,/ quæ desolatæ sunt, absque homine,/ et absque habitatore, et absque pecore,/ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃33 כה אמר יהוה עוד ישמע במקום הזה אשר אתם אמרים חרב הוא מאין אדם ומאין בהמה בערי יהודה ובחצות ירושלם הנשמות מאין אדם ומאין יושב ומאין בהמה (Ⅴ)

The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.
- Les cris de réjouissance et les cris d'allégresse, Les chants du fiancé et les chants de la fiancée, La voix de ceux qui disent: Louez l'Éternel des armées, Car l'Éternel est bon, car sa miséricorde dure à toujours! La voix de ceux qui offrent des sacrifices d'actions de grâces Dans la maison de l'Éternel. Car je ramènerai les captifs du pays, je les rétablirai comme autrefois, Dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - vox gaudii et vox lætitiæ,/ vox sponsi et vox sponsæ,/ vox dicentium : Confitemini Domino exercituum,/ quoniam bonus Dominus,/ quoniam in æternum misericordia ejus :/ et portantium vota in domum Domini :/ reducam enim conversionem terræ/ sicut a principio, dicit Dominus./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃33 קול ששון וקול שמחה קול חתן וקול כלה קול אמרים הודו את יהוה צבאות כי טוב יהוה כי לעולם חסדו מבאים תודה בית יהוה כי אשיב את שבות הארץ כבראשנה אמר יהוה ס (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Il y aura encore dans ce lieu Qui est désert, sans hommes ni bêtes, Et dans toutes ses villes, Il y aura des demeures pour les bergers Faisant reposer leurs troupeaux. (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum :/ Adhuc erit in loco isto deserto,/ absque homine et absque jumento,/ et in cunctis civitatibus ejus,/ habitaculum pastorum accubantium gregum./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃33 כה אמר יהוה צבאות עוד יהיה במקום הזה החרב מאין אדם ועד בהמה ובכל עריו נוה רעים מרבצים צאן (Ⅴ)

In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the LORD.
- Dans les villes de la montagne, dans les villes de la plaine, Dans les villes du midi, Dans le pays de Benjamin et aux environs de Jérusalem, Et dans les villes de Juda, Les brebis passeront encore sous la main de celui qui les compte, Dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - In civitatibus montuosis,/ et in civitatibus campestribus,/ et in civitatibus quæ ad austrum sunt,/ et in terra Benjamin, et in circuitu Jerusalem,/ et in civitatibus Juda,/ adhuc transibunt greges ad manum numerantis, ait Dominus.]\ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃33 בערי ההר בערי השפלה ובערי הנגב ובארץ בנימן ובסביבי ירושלם ובערי יהודה עד תעברנה הצאן על ידי מונה אמר יהוה ס (Ⅴ)

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
- Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, Où j'accomplirai la bonne parole Que j'ai dite sur la maison d'Israël et sur la maison de Juda. (Ⅱ) - Ecce dies veniunt, dicit Dominus,/ et suscitabo verbum bonum quod locutus sum/ ad domum Israël et ad domum Juda./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃33 הנה ימים באים נאם יהוה והקמתי את הדבר הטוב אשר דברתי אל בית ישראל ועל בית יהודה (Ⅴ)

In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
- En ces jours et en ce temps-là, Je ferai éclore à David un germe de justice; Il pratiquera la justice et l'équité dans le pays. (Ⅱ) - In diebus illis et in tempore illo/ germinare faciam David germen justitiæ,/ et faciet judicium et justitiam in terra :/ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃33 בימים ההם ובעת ההיא אצמיח לדוד צמח צדקה ועשה משפט וצדקה בארץ (Ⅴ)

In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.
- En ces jours-là, Juda sera sauvé, Jérusalem aura la sécurité dans sa demeure; Et voici comment on l'appellera: L'Éternel notre justice. (Ⅱ) - in diebus illis salvabitur Juda,/ et Jerusalem habitabit confidenter :/ et hoc est nomen quod vocabunt eum :/ Dominus justus noster./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃33 בימים ההם תושע יהודה וירושלם תשכון לבטח וזה אשר יקרא לה יהוה צדקנו ס (Ⅴ)

For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
- Car ainsi parle l'Éternel: David ne manquera jamais d'un successeur Assis sur le trône de la maison d'Israël; (Ⅱ) - Quia hæc dicit Dominus :/ Non interibit de David vir qui sedeat super thronum domus Israël :/ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃33 כי כה אמר יהוה לא יכרת לדוד איש ישב על כסא בית ישראל (Ⅴ)

Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
- Les sacrificateurs, les Lévites, ne manqueront jamais devant moi de successeurs Pour offrir des holocaustes, brûler de l'encens avec les offrandes, Et faire des sacrifices tous les jours. (Ⅱ) - et de sacerdotibus et de Levitis non interibit vir a facie mea,/ qui offerat holocautomata,/ et incendat sacrificum,/ et cædat victimas omnibus diebus.] (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃33 ולכהנים הלוים לא יכרת איש מלפני מעלה עולה ומקטיר מנחה ועשה זבח[p] כל הימים ס (Ⅴ)

And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,
- La parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Jérémie, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃33 ויהי דבר יהוה אל ירמיהו לאמור (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Si vous pouvez rompre mon alliance avec le jour Et mon alliance avec la nuit, En sorte que le jour et la nuit ne soient plus en leur temps, (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus :/ Si irritum potest fieri pactum meum cum die,/ et pactum meum cum nocte,/ ut non sit dies et nox in tempore suo,/ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃33 כה אמר יהוה אם תפרו את בריתי היום ואת בריתי הלילה ולבלתי היות יומם ולילה בעתם (Ⅴ)

Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
- Alors aussi mon alliance sera rompue avec David, mon serviteur, En sorte qu'il n'aura point de fils régnant sur son trône, Et mon alliance avec les Lévites, les sacrificateurs, qui font mon service. (Ⅱ) - et pactum meum irritum esse poterit cum David servo meo,/ ut non sit ex eo filius qui regnet in throno ejus,/ et Levitæ et sacerdotes ministri mei./ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃33 גם בריתי תפר את דוד עבדי מהיות לו בן מלך על כסאו ואת הלוים הכהנים משרתי (Ⅴ)

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
- De même qu'on ne peut compter l'armée des cieux, Ni mesurer le sable de la mer, De même je multiplierai la postérité de David, mon serviteur, Et les Lévites qui font mon service. (Ⅱ) - Sicuti enumerari non possunt stellæ cæli,/ et metiri arena maris,/ sic multiplicabo semen David servi mei,/ et Levitas ministros meos.] (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃33 אשר לא יספר צבא השמים ולא ימד חול הים כן ארבה את זרע דוד עבדי ואת הלוים משרתי אתי ס (Ⅴ)

Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
- N'as-tu pas remarqué ce que disent ces gens: Les deux familles que l'Éternel avait choisies, il les a rejetées? Ainsi ils méprisent mon peuple, Au point de ne plus le regarder comme une nation. (Ⅱ) - Numquid non vidisti quid populus hic locutus sit, dicens :/ Duæ cognationes quas elegerat Dominus abjectæ sunt ?/ et populum meum despexerunt,/ eo quod non sit ultra gens coram eis./ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃33 הלוא ראית מה העם הזה דברו לאמר שתי המשפחות אשר בחר יהוה בהם וימאסם ואת עמי ינאצון מהיות עוד גוי לפניהם ס (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Si je n'ai pas fait mon alliance avec le jour et avec la nuit, Si je n'ai pas établi les lois des cieux et de la terre, (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus :/ Si pactum meum inter diem et noctem,/ et leges cælo et terræ non posui,/ (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃33 כה אמר יהוה אם לא בריתי יומם ולילה חקות שמים וארץ לא שמתי (Ⅴ)

Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
- Alors aussi je rejetterai la postérité de Jacob et de David, mon serviteur, Et je ne prendrai plus dans sa postérité ceux qui domineront Sur les descendants d'Abraham, d'Isaac et de Jacob. Car je ramènerai leurs captifs, et j'aurai pitié d'eux. (Ⅱ) - equidem et semen Jacob et David servi mei projiciam,/ ut non assumam de semine ejus/ principes seminis Abraham, Isaac, et Jacob :/ reducam enim conversionem eorum, et miserebor eis.] (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃33 גם זרע יעקוב ודוד עבדי אמאס מקחת מזרעו משלים אל זרע אברהם ישחק ויעקב כי *אשוב **אשיב את שבותם ורחמתים ס (Ⅴ)
