The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,
- La parole qui fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l'Éternel, en ces mots, lorsque Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, avec toute son armée, et tous les royaumes des pays sous sa domination, et tous les peuples, faisaient la guerre à Jérusalem et à toutes les villes qui en dépendaient: (Ⅱ) - Verbum quod factum est ad Jeremiam a Domino quando Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, et omnis exercitus ejus, universaque regna terræ quæ erant sub potestate manus ejus, et omnes populi, bellabant contra Jerusalem, et contra omnes urbes ejus, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃34 הדבר אשר היה אל ירמיהו מאת יהוה ונבוכדראצר מלך בבל וכל חילו וכל ממלכות ארץ ממשלת ידו וכל העמים נלחמים על ירושלם ועל כל עריה לאמר (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Va, et dis à Sédécias, roi de Juda, dis-lui: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, je livre cette ville entre les mains du roi de Babylone, et il la brûlera par le feu. (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Vade, et loquere ad Sedeciam regem Juda, et dices ad eum : Hæc dicit Dominus : Ecce ego tradam civitatem hanc in manus regis Babylonis, et succendet eam igni : (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃34 כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל הלך ואמרת אל צדקיהו מלך יהודה ואמרת אליו כה אמר יהוה הנני נתן את העיר הזאת ביד מלך בבל ושרפה באש (Ⅴ)

And thou shalt not escape out of his hand, but shalt surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and thine eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with thee mouth to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.
- Et toi, tu n'échapperas pas à ses mains, mais tu seras pris et livré entre ses mains, tes yeux verront les yeux du roi de Babylone, et il te parlera bouche à bouche, et tu iras à Babylone. (Ⅱ) - et tu non effugies de manu ejus, sed comprehensione capieris, et in manu ejus traderis : et oculi tui oculos regis Babylonis videbunt, et os ejus cum ore tuo loquetur, et Babylonem introibis. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃34 ואתה לא תמלט מידו כי תפש תתפש ובידו תנתן ועיניך את עיני מלך בבל תראינה ופיהו את פיך ידבר ובבל תבוא (Ⅴ)

Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith the LORD of thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword:
- Seulement écoute la parole de l'Éternel, Sédécias, roi de Juda! Ainsi parle l'Éternel sur toi: Tu ne mourras point par l'épée. (Ⅱ) - Attamen audi verbum Domini, Sedecia, rex Juda : Hæc dicit Dominus ad te : Non morieris in gladio, (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃34 אך שמע דבר יהוה צדקיהו מלך יהודה כה אמר יהוה עליך לא תמות בחרב (Ⅴ)

But thou shalt die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn odours for thee; and they will lament thee, saying, Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith the LORD.
- Tu mourras en paix; et comme on a brûlé des parfums pour tes pères, les anciens rois qui t'ont précédé, ainsi on en brûlera pour toi, et l'on te pleurera, en disant: Hélas, seigneur! Car j'ai prononcé cette parole, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - sed in pace morieris : et secundum combustiones patrum tuorum, regum priorum qui fuerunt ante te, sic comburent te : et : Væ domine, plangent te : quia verbum ego locutus sum, dicit Dominus. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃34 בשלום תמות וכמשרפות אבותיך המלכים הראשנים אשר היו לפניך כן ישרפו לך והוי אדון יספדו לך כי דבר אני דברתי נאם יהוה ס (Ⅴ)

Then Jeremiah the prophet spake all these words unto Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,
- Jérémie, le prophète, dit toutes ces paroles à Sédécias, roi de Juda, à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - Et locutus est Jeremias propheta ad Sedeciam regem Juda universa verba hæc in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃34 וידבר ירמיהו הנביא אל צדקיהו מלך יהודה את כל הדברים האלה בירושלם (Ⅴ)

When the king of Babylon's army fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against Azekah: for these defenced cities remained of the cities of Judah.
- Et l'armée du roi de Babylone combattait contre Jérusalem et contre toutes les autres villes de Juda, contre Lakis et Azéka, car c'étaient des villes fortes qui restaient parmi les villes de Juda. (Ⅱ) - Et exercitus regis Babylonis pugnabat contra Jerusalem, et contra omnes civitates Juda quæ reliquæ erant, contra Lachis et contra Azecha : hæ enim supererant de civitatibus Juda, urbes munitæ.\ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃34 וחיל מלך בבל נלחמים על ירושלם ועל כל ערי יהודה הנותרות אל לכיש ואל עזקה כי הנה נשארו בערי יהודה ערי מבצר פ (Ⅴ)

This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;
- La parole fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l'Éternel, après que le roi Sédécias eut fait un pacte avec tout le peuple de Jérusalem, pour publier la liberté, (Ⅱ) - Verbum quod factum est ad Jeremiam a Domino, postquam percussit rex Sedecias fœdus cum omni populo in Jerusalem, prædicans (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃34 הדבר אשר היה אל ירמיהו מאת יהוה אחרי כרת המלך צדקיהו ברית את כל העם אשר בירושלם לקרא להם דרור (Ⅴ)

That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.
- afin que chacun renvoyât libres son esclave et sa servante, l'Hébreu et la femme de l'Hébreu, et que personne ne tînt plus dans la servitude le Juif, son frère. (Ⅱ) - ut dimitteret unusquisque servum suum et unusquisque ancillam suam, Hebræum et Hebræam, liberos, et nequaquam dominarentur eis, id est, in Judæo et fratre suo. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃34 לשלח איש את עבדו ואיש את שפחתו העברי והעבריה חפשים לבלתי עבד בם ביהודי אחיהו איש (Ⅴ)

Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go.
- Tous les chefs et tout le peuple, qui étaient entrés dans le pacte, s'engagèrent à renvoyer libres chacun son esclave et sa servante, afin de ne plus les tenir dans la servitude; ils obéirent, et les renvoyèrent. (Ⅱ) - Audierunt ergo omnes principes et universus populus qui inierant pactum ut dimitteret unusquisque servum suum et unusquisque ancillam suam liberos, et ultra non dominarentur eis : audierunt igitur, et dimiserunt. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃34 וישמעו כל השרים וכל העם אשר באו בברית לשלח איש את עבדו ואיש את שפחתו חפשים לבלתי עבד בם עוד וישמעו וישלחו (Ⅴ)

But afterward they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.
- Mais ensuite ils changèrent d'avis; ils reprirent les esclaves et les servantes qu'ils avaient affranchis, et les forcèrent à redevenir esclaves et servantes. (Ⅱ) - Et conversi sunt deinceps : et retraxerunt servos et ancillas suas quos dimiserant liberos, et subjugaverunt in famulos et famulas. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃34 וישובו אחרי כן וישבו את העבדים ואת השפחות אשר שלחו חפשים *ויכבישום **ויכבשום לעבדים ולשפחות ס (Ⅴ)

Therefore the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
- Alors la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l'Éternel, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam a Domino, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃34 ויהי דבר יהוה אל ירמיהו מאת יהוה לאמר (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: J'ai fait une alliance avec vos pères, le jour où je les ai fait sortir du pays d'Égypte, de la maison de servitude; et je leur ai dit: (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Ego percussi fœdus cum patribus vestris in die qua eduxi eos de terra Ægypti, de domo servitutis, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃34 כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אנכי כרתי ברית את אבותיכם ביום הוצאי אותם מארץ מצרים מבית עבדים לאמר (Ⅴ)

At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.
- Au bout de sept ans, chacun de vous renverra libre son frère hébreu qui se vend à lui; il te servira six années, puis tu le renverras libre de chez toi. Mais vos pères ne m'ont point écouté, ils n'ont point prêté l'oreille. (Ⅱ) - Cum completi fuerint septem anni, dimittat unusquisque fratrem suum Hebræum, qui venditus est ei : et serviet tibi sex annis, et dimittes eum a te liberum : et non audierunt patres vestri me, nec inclinaverunt aurem suam. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃34 מקץ שבע שנים תשלחו איש את אחיו העברי אשר ימכר לך ועבדך שש שנים ושלחתו חפשי מעמך ולא שמעו אבותיכם אלי ולא הטו את אזנם (Ⅴ)

And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:
- Vous, vous aviez fait aujourd'hui un retour sur vous-mêmes, vous aviez fait ce qui est droit à mes yeux, en publiant la liberté chacun pour son prochain, vous aviez fait un pacte devant moi, dans la maison sur laquelle mon nom est invoqué. (Ⅱ) - Et conversi estis vos hodie, et fecistis quod rectum est in oculis meis, ut prædicaretis libertatem unusquisque ad amicum suum : et inistis pactum in conspectu meo, in domo in qua invocatum est nomen meum super eam : (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃34 ותשבו אתם היום ותעשו את הישר בעיני לקרא דרור איש לרעהו ותכרתו ברית לפני בבית אשר נקרא שמי עליו (Ⅴ)

But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.
- Mais vous êtes revenus en arrière, et vous avez profané mon nom; vous avez repris chacun les esclaves et les servantes que vous aviez affranchis, rendus à eux-mêmes, et vous les avez forcés à redevenir vos esclaves et vos servantes. (Ⅱ) - et reversi estis, et commaculastis nomen meum, et reduxistis unusquisque servum suum et unusquisque ancillam suam quos dimiseratis ut essent liberi et suæ potestatis, et subjugastis eos ut sint vobis servi et ancillæ. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃34 ותשבו ותחללו את שמי ותשבו איש את עבדו ואיש את שפחתו אשר שלחתם חפשים לנפשם ותכבשו אתם להיות לכם לעבדים ולשפחות ס (Ⅴ)

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
- C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Éternel: Vous ne m'avez point obéi, en publiant la liberté chacun pour son frère, chacun pour son prochain. Voici, je publie contre vous, dit l'Éternel, la liberté de l'épée, de la peste et de la famine, et je vous rendrai un objet d'effroi pour tous les royaumes de la terre. (Ⅱ) - Propterea hæc dicit Dominus : Vos non audistis me, ut prædicaretis libertatem unusquisque fratri suo et unusquisque amico suo : ecce ego prædico vobis libertatem, ait Dominus, ad gladium, ad pestem, et ad famem, et dabo vos in commotionem cunctis regnis terræ. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃34 לכן כה אמר יהוה אתם לא שמעתם אלי לקרא דרור איש לאחיו ואיש לרעהו הנני קרא לכם דרור נאם יהוה אל החרב אל הדבר ואל הרעב ונתתי אתכם *לזועה **לזעוה לכל ממלכות הארץ (Ⅴ)

And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,
- Je livrerai les hommes qui ont violé mon alliance, qui n'ont pas observé les conditions du pacte qu'ils avaient fait devant moi, en coupant un veau en deux et en passant entre ses morceaux; (Ⅱ) - Et dabo viros qui prævaricantur fœdus meum, et non observaverunt verba fœderis quibus assensi sunt in conspectu meo, vitulum quem conciderunt in duas partes, et transierunt inter divisiones ejus, (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃34 ונתתי את האנשים העברים את ברתי אשר לא הקימו את דברי הברית אשר כרתו לפני העגל אשר כרתו לשנים ויעברו בין בתריו (Ⅴ)

The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;
- je livrerai les chefs de Juda et les chefs de Jérusalem, les eunuques, les sacrificateurs, et tout le peuple du pays, qui ont passé entre les morceaux du veau; (Ⅱ) - principes Juda et principes Jerusalem, eunuchi et sacerdotes, et omnis populus terræ, qui transierunt inter divisiones vituli : (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃34 שרי יהודה ושרי ירושלם הסרסים והכהנים וכל עם הארץ העברים בין בתרי העגל (Ⅴ)

I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.
- je les livrerai entre les mains de leurs ennemis, entre les mains de ceux qui en veulent à leur vie, et leurs cadavres serviront de pâture aux oiseaux du ciel et aux bêtes de la terre. (Ⅱ) - et dabo eos in manus inimicorum suorum, et in manus quærentium animam eorum, et erit morticinum eorum in escam volatilibus cæli et bestiis terræ. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃34 ונתתי אותם ביד איביהם וביד מבקשי נפשם והיתה נבלתם למאכל לעוף השמים ולבהמת הארץ (Ⅴ)

And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which are gone up from you.
- Je livrerai Sédécias, roi de Juda, et ses chefs, entre les mains de leurs ennemis, entre les mains de ceux qui en veulent à leur vie, entre les mains de l'armée du roi de Babylone, qui s'est éloigné de vous. (Ⅱ) - Et Sedeciam regem Juda, et principes ejus, dabo in manus inimicorum suorum, et in manus quærentium animas eorum, et in manus exercituum regis Babylonis, qui recesserunt a vobis. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃34 ואת צדקיהו מלך יהודה ואת שריו אתן ביד איביהם וביד מבקשי נפשם וביד חיל מלך בבל העלים מעליכם (Ⅴ)

Behold, I will command, saith the LORD, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.
- Voici, je donnerai mes ordres, dit l'Éternel, et je les ramènerai contre cette ville; ils l'attaqueront, ils la prendront, et la brûleront par le feu. Et je ferai des villes de Juda un désert sans habitants. (Ⅱ) - Ecce ego præcipio, dicit Dominus, et reducam eos in civitatem hanc, et præliabuntur adversus eam, et capient eam, et incendent igni : et civitates Juda dabo in solitudinem, eo quod non sit habitator. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃34 הנני מצוה נאם יהוה והשבתים אל העיר הזאת ונלחמו עליה ולכדוה ושרפה באש ואת ערי יהודה אתן שממה מאין ישב פ (Ⅴ)
