The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
- La parole fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l'Éternel, au temps de Jojakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - Verbum quod factum est ad Jeremiam a Domino in diebus Joakim filii Josiæ regis Juda, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃35 הדבר אשר היה אל ירמיהו מאת יהוה בימי יהויקים בן יאשיהו מלך יהודה לאמר (Ⅴ)

Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
- Va à la maison des Récabites, et parle-leur; tu les conduiras à la maison de l'Éternel, dans une des chambres, et tu leur offriras du vin à boire. (Ⅱ) - Vade ad domum Rechabitarum, et loquere eis, et introduces eos in domum Domini, in unam exedram thesaurorum, et dabis eis bibere vinum. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃35 הלוך אל בית הרכבים ודברת אותם והבאותם בית יהוה אל אחת הלשכות והשקית אותם יין (Ⅴ)

Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
- Je pris Jaazania, fils de Jérémie, fils de Habazinia, ses frères, tous ses fils, et toute la maison des Récabites, (Ⅱ) - Et assumpsi Jezoniam filium Jeremiæ filii Habsaniæ, et fratres ejus, et omnes filios ejus, et universam domum Rechabitarum, (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃35 ואקח את יאזניה בן ירמיהו בן חבצניה ואת אחיו ואת כל בניו ואת כל בית הרכבים (Ⅴ)

And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:
- et je les conduisis à la maison de l'Éternel, dans la chambre des fils de Hanan, fils de Jigdalia, homme de Dieu, près de la chambre des chefs, au-dessus de la chambre de Maaséja, fils de Schallum, garde du seuil. (Ⅱ) - et introduxi eos in domum Domini, ad gazophylacium filiorum Hanan filii Jegedeliæ hominis Dei, quod erat juxta gazophylacium principum, super thesaurum Maasiæ filii Sellum, qui erat custos vestibuli : (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃35 ואבא אתם בית יהוה אל לשכת בני חנן בן יגדליהו איש האלהים אשר אצל לשכת השרים אשר ממעל ללשכת מעשיהו בן שלם שמר הסף (Ⅴ)

And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.
- Je mis devant les fils de la maison des Récabites des coupes pleines de vin, et des calices, et je leur dis: Buvez du vin! (Ⅱ) - et posui coram filiis domus Rechabitarum scyphos plenos vino, et calices, et dixi ad eos : Bibite vinum. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃35 ואתן לפני בני בית הרכבים גבעים מלאים יין וכסות ואמר אליהם שתו יין (Ⅴ)

But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:
- Mais ils répondirent: Nous ne buvons pas de vin; car Jonadab, fils de Récab, notre père, nous a donné cet ordre: Vous ne boirez jamais de vin, ni vous, ni vos fils; (Ⅱ) - Qui responderunt Non bibemus vinum, quia Jonadab filius Rechab, pater noster, præcepit nobis, dicens : Non bibetis vinum, vos et filii vestri, usque in sempiternum : (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃35 ויאמרו לא נשתה יין כי יונדב בן רכב אבינו צוה עלינו לאמר לא תשתו יין אתם ובניכם עד עולם (Ⅴ)

Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
- et vous ne bâtirez point de maisons, vous ne sèmerez aucune semence, vous ne planterez point de vignes et vous n'en posséderez point; mais vous habiterez sous des tentes toute votre vie, afin que vous viviez longtemps dans le pays où vous êtes étrangers. (Ⅱ) - et domum non ædificabitis, et sementem non seretis, et vineas non plantabitis, nec habebitis : sed in tabernaculis habitabitis cunctis diebus vestris, ut vivatis diebus multis super faciem terræ in qua vos peregrinamini. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃35 ובית לא תבנו וזרע לא תזרעו וכרם לא תטעו ולא יהיה לכם כי באהלים תשבו כל ימיכם למען תחיו ימים רבים על פני האדמה אשר אתם גרים שם (Ⅴ)

Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
- Nous obéissons à tout ce que nous a prescrit Jonadab, fils de Récab, notre père: nous ne buvons pas de vin pendant toute notre vie, nous, nos femmes, nos fils et nos filles; (Ⅱ) - Obedivimus ergo voci Jonadab filii Rechab, patris nostri, in omnibus quæ præcepit nobis, ita ut non biberemus vinum cunctis diebus nostris, nos, et mulieres nostræ, filii, et filiæ nostræ, (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃35 ונשמע בקול יהונדב בן רכב אבינו לכל אשר צונו לבלתי שתות יין כל ימינו אנחנו נשינו בנינו ובנתינו (Ⅴ)

Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
- nous ne bâtissons point de maisons pour nos demeures, et nous ne possédons ni vignes, ni champs, ni terres ensemencées; (Ⅱ) - et non ædificaremus domos ad habitandum : et vineam, et agrum, et sementem non habuimus : (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃35 ולבלתי בנות בתים לשבתנו וכרם ושדה וזרע לא יהיה לנו (Ⅴ)

But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
- nous habitons sous des tentes, et nous suivons et pratiquons tout ce que nous a prescrit Jonadab, notre père. (Ⅱ) - sed habitavimus in tabernaculis, et obedientes fuimus juxta omnia quæ præcepit nobis Jonadab pater noster. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃35 ונשב באהלים ונשמע ונעש ככל אשר צונו יונדב אבינו (Ⅴ)

But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
- Lorsque Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, est monté contre ce pays, nous avons dit: Allons, retirons-nous à Jérusalem, loin de l'armée des Chaldéens et de l'armée de Syrie. C'est ainsi que nous habitons à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - Cum autem ascendisset Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis ad terram nostram, diximus : Venite, et ingrediamur Jerusalem a facie exercitus Chaldæorum, et a facie exercitus Syriæ : et mansimus in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃35 ויהי בעלות נבוכדראצר מלך בבל אל הארץ ונאמר באו ונבוא ירושלם מפני חיל הכשדים ומפני חיל ארם ונשב בירושלם פ (Ⅴ)

Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
- Alors la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Jérémie, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃35 ויהי דבר יהוה אל ירמיהו לאמר (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Va, et dis aux hommes de Juda et aux habitants de Jérusalem: Ne recevrez-vous pas instruction, pour obéir à mes paroles? dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Vade, et dic viris Juda et habitatoribus Jerusalem : Numquid non recipietis disciplinam, ut obediatis verbis meis ? dicit Dominus. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃35 כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל הלך ואמרת לאיש יהודה וליושבי ירושלם הלוא תקחו מוסר לשמע אל דברי נאם יהוה (Ⅴ)

The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.
- On a observé les paroles de Jonadab, fils de Récab, qui a ordonné à ses fils de ne pas boire du vin, et ils n'en ont point bu jusqu'à ce jour, parce qu'ils ont obéi à l'ordre de leur père. Et moi, je vous ai parlé, je vous ai parlé dès le matin, et vous ne m'avez pas écouté. (Ⅱ) - Prævaluerunt sermones Jonadab filii Rechab quos præcepit filiis suis ut non biberent vinum, et non biberunt usque ad diem hanc, quia obedierunt præcepto patris sui : ego autem locutus sum ad vos, de mane consurgens et loquens, et non obedistis mihi. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃35 הוקם את דברי יהונדב בן רכב אשר צוה את בניו לבלתי שתות יין ולא שתו עד היום הזה כי שמעו את מצות אביהם ואנכי דברתי אליכם השכם ודבר ולא שמעתם אלי (Ⅴ)

I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
- Je vous ai envoyé tous mes serviteurs, les prophètes, je les ai envoyés dès le matin, pour vous dire: Revenez chacun de votre mauvaise voie, amendez vos actions, n'allez pas après d'autres dieux pour les servir, et vous resterez dans le pays que j'ai donné à vous et à vos pères. Mais vous n'avez pas prêté l'oreille, vous ne m'avez pas écouté. (Ⅱ) - Misique ad vos omnes servos meos prophetas, consurgens diluculo mittensque, et dicens : Convertimini unusquisque a via sua pessima, et bona facite studia vestra : et nolite sequi deos alienos, neque colatis eos, et habitabitis in terra quam dedi vobis et patribus vestris : et non inclinastis aurem vestram, neque audistis me. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃35 ואשלח אליכם את כל עבדי הנבאים השכים ושלח לאמר שבו נא איש מדרכו הרעה והיטיבו מעלליכם ואל תלכו אחרי אלהים אחרים לעבדם ושבו אל האדמה אשר נתתי לכם ולאבתיכם ולא הטיתם את אזנכם ולא שמעתם אלי (Ⅴ)

Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:
- Oui, les fils de Jonadab, fils de Récab, observent l'ordre que leur a donné leur père, et ce peuple ne m'écoute pas! (Ⅱ) - Firmaverunt igitur filii Jonadab filii Rechab præceptum patris sui quod præceperat eis : populus autem iste non obedivit mihi. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃35 כי הקימו בני יהונדב בן רכב את מצות אביהם אשר צום והעם הזה לא שמעו אלי ס (Ⅴ)

Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
- C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Voici, je vais faire venir sur Juda et sur tous les habitants de Jérusalem tous les malheurs que j'ai annoncés sur eux, parce que je leur ai parlé et qu'ils n'ont pas écouté, parce que je les ai appelés et qu'ils n'ont pas répondu. (Ⅱ) - Idcirco hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Ecce ego adducam super Juda et super omnes habitatores Jerusalem universam afflictionem quam locutus sum adversum illos, eo quod locutus sum ad illos, et non audierunt ; vocavi illos, et non responderunt mihi. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃35 לכן כה אמר יהוה אלהי צבאות אלהי ישראל הנני מביא אל יהודה ואל כל יושבי ירושלם את כל הרעה אשר דברתי עליהם יען דברתי אליהם ולא שמעו ואקרא להם ולא ענו (Ⅴ)

And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
- Et Jérémie dit à la maison des Récabites: Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Parce que vous avez obéi aux ordres de Jonadab, votre père, parce que vous avez observé tous ses commandements et fait tout ce qu'il vous a prescrit; (Ⅱ) - Domui autem Rechabitarum dixit Jeremias : Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Pro eo quod obedistis præcepto Jonadab patris vestri, et custodistis omnia mandata ejus, et fecistis universa quæ præcepit vobis, (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃35 ולבית הרכבים אמר ירמיהו כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל יען אשר שמעתם על מצות יהונדב אביכם ותשמרו את כל מצותיו ותעשו ככל אשר צוה אתכם ס (Ⅴ)

Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.
- à cause de cela, ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Jonadab, fils de Récab, ne manquera jamais de descendants qui se tiennent en ma présence. (Ⅱ) - propterea hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Non deficiet vir de stirpe Jonadab filii Rechab, stans in conspectu meo cunctis diebus. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃35 לכן כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל לא יכרת איש ליונדב בן רכב עמד לפני כל הימים פ (Ⅴ)
