23. 1

The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

- La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων (Ⅲ)

- Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃23 ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 2

Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:

- Fils de l'homme, il y avait deux femmes, Filles d'une même mère. (Ⅱ)

- υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου δύο γυναι̃κες ἠ̃σαν θυγατέρες μητρὸς μια̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Fili hominis, duæ mulieres filiæ matris unius fuerunt :/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃23 בן אדם שתים נשים בנות אם אחת היו ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 3

And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.

- Elles se sont prostituées en Égypte, Elles se sont prostituées dans leur jeunesse; Là leurs mamelles ont été pressées, Là leur sein virginal a été touché. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξεπόρνευσαν ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ ἐν τη̨̃ νεότητι αὐτω̃ν ἐκει̃ ἔπεσον οἱ μαστοὶ αὐτω̃ν ἐκει̃ διεπαρθενεύθησαν (Ⅲ)

- et fornicatæ sunt in Ægypto,/ in adolescentia sua fornicatæ sunt :/ ibi subacta sunt ubera earum,/ et fractæ sunt mammæ pubertatis earum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃23 ותזנינה במצרים בנעוריהן זנו שמה מעכו שדיהן ושם עשו דדי בתוליהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 4

And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.

- L'aînée s'appelait Ohola, Et sa soeur Oholiba; Elles étaient à moi, Et elles ont enfanté des fils et des filles. Ohola, c'est Samarie; Oholiba, c'est Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτω̃ν ἠ̃ν Οολα ἡ πρεσβυτέρα καὶ Οολιβα ἡ ἀδελφὴ αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐγένοντό μοι καὶ ἔτεκον υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας καὶ τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτω̃ν Σαμάρεια ἡ Οολα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ ἡ Οολιβα (Ⅲ)

- Nomina autem earum,/ Oolla major, et Ooliba soror ejus minor :/ et habui eas, et pepererunt filios et filias./ Porro earum nomina,/ Samaria Oolla, et Jerusalem Ooliba./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃23 ושמותן אהלה הגדולה ואהליבה אחותה ותהיינה לי ותלדנה בנים ובנות ושמותן שמרון אהלה וירושלם אהליבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 5

And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,

- Ohola me fut infidèle; Elle s'enflamma pour ses amants, Les Assyriens ses voisins, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξεπόρνευσεν ἡ Οολα ἀπ' ἐμου̃ καὶ ἐπέθετο ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐραστὰς αὐτη̃ς ἐπὶ τοὺς 'Ασσυρίους τοὺς ἐγγίζοντας αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Fornicata est igitur super me Oolla,/ et insanivit in amatores suos,/ in Assyrios propinquantes,/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃23 ותזן אהלה תחתי ותעגב על מאהביה אל אשור קרובים ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 6

Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses.

- Vêtus d'étoffes teintes en bleu, Gouverneurs et chefs, Tous jeunes et charmants, Cavaliers montés sur des chevaux. (Ⅱ)

- ἐνδεδυκότας ὑακίνθινα ἡγουμένους καὶ στρατηγούς νεανίσκοι ἐπίλεκτοι πάντες ἱππει̃ς ἱππαζόμενοι ἐφ' ἵππων (Ⅲ)

- vestitos hyacintho,/ principes et magistratus,/ juvenes cupidinis,/ universos equites, ascensores equorum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃23 לבשי תכלת פחות וסגנים בחורי חמד כלם פרשים רכבי סוסים ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 7

Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself.

- Elle s'est prostituée à eux, A toute l'élite des enfants de l'Assyrie; Elle s'est souillée avec tous ceux pour lesquels elle s'était enflammée, Elle s'est souillée avec toutes leurs idoles. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔδωκεν τὴν πορνείαν αὐτη̃ς ἐπ' αὐτούς ἐπίλεκτοι υἱοὶ 'Ασσυρίων πάντες καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας οὓς ἐπέθετο ἐν πα̃σι τοι̃ς ἐνθυμήμασιν αὐτη̃ς ἐμιαίνετο (Ⅲ)

- Et dedit fornicationes suas super eos electos,/ filios Assyriorum universos :/ et in omnibus in quos insanivit,/ in immunditiis eorum polluta est./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃23 ותתן תזנותיה עליהם מבחר בני אשור כלם ובכל אשר עגבה בכל גלוליהם נטמאה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 8

Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her.

- Elle n'a pas renoncé à ses prostitutions d'Égypte: Car ils avaient couché avec elle dans sa jeunesse, Ils avaient touché son sein virginal, Et ils avaient répandu sur elle leurs prostitutions. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὴν πορνείαν αὐτη̃ς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου οὐκ ἐγκατέλιπεν ὅτι μετ' αὐτη̃ς ἐκοιμω̃ντο ἐν νεότητι αὐτη̃ς καὶ αὐτοὶ διεπαρθένευσαν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐξέχεαν τὴν πορνείαν αὐτω̃ν ἐπ' αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- Insuper et fornicationes suas, quas habuerat in Ægypto, non reliquit :/ nam et illi dormierunt cum ea in adolescentia ejus,/ et illi confregerunt ubera pubertatis ejus,/ et effuderunt fornicationem suam super eam./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃23 ואת תזנותיה ממצרים לא עזבה כי אותה שכבו בנעוריה והמה עשו דדי בתוליה וישפכו תזנותם עליה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 9

Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.

- C'est pourquoi je l'ai livrée entre les mains de ses amants, Entre les mains des enfants de l'Assyrie, Pour lesquels elle s'était enflammée. (Ⅱ)

- διὰ του̃το παρέδωκα αὐτὴν εἰς χει̃ρας τω̃ν ἐραστω̃ν αὐτη̃ς εἰς χει̃ρας υἱω̃ν 'Ασσυρίων ἐφ' οὓς ἐπετίθετο (Ⅲ)

- Propterea tradidi eam in manus amatorum suorum,/ in manus filiorum Assur,/ super quorum insanivit libidine./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃23 לכן נתתיה ביד מאהביה ביד בני אשור אשר עגבה עליהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 10

These discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.

- Ils ont découvert sa nudité, Ils ont pris ses fils et ses filles, Ils l'ont fait périr elle-même avec l'épée; Elle a été en renom parmi les femmes, Après les jugements exercés sur elle. (Ⅱ)

- αὐτοὶ ἀπεκάλυψαν τὴν αἰσχύνην αὐτη̃ς υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας αὐτη̃ς ἔλαβον καὶ αὐτὴν ἐν ῥομφαία̨ ἀπέκτειναν καὶ ἐγένετο λάλημα εἰς γυναι̃κας καὶ ἐποίησαν ἐκδικήσεις ἐν αὐτη̨̃ εἰς τὰς θυγατέρας (Ⅲ)

- Ipsi discooperuerunt ignominiam ejus,/ filios et filias ejus tulerunt,/ et ipsam occiderunt gladio :/ et factæ sunt famosæ mulieres,/ et judicia perpetraverunt in ea./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃23 המה גלו ערותה בניה ובנותיה לקחו ואותה בחרב הרגו ותהי שם לנשים ושפוטים עשו בה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 11

And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.

- Sa soeur Oholiba vit cela, Et fut plus déréglée qu'elle dans sa passion; Ses prostitutions dépassèrent celles de sa soeur. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃δεν ἡ ἀδελφὴ αὐτη̃ς Οολιβα καὶ διέφθειρε τὴν ἐπίθεσιν αὐτη̃ς ὑπὲρ αὐτὴν καὶ τὴν πορνείαν αὐτη̃ς ὑπὲρ τὴν πορνείαν τη̃ς ἀδελφη̃ς αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Quod cum vidisset soror ejus Ooliba,/ plus quam illa insanivit libidine,/ et fornicationem suam super fornicationem sororis suæ :/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃23 ותרא אחותה אהליבה ותשחת עגבתה ממנה ואת תזנותיה מזנוני אחותה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 12

She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.

- Elle s'enflamma pour les enfants de l'Assyrie, Gouverneurs et chefs, ses voisins, Vêtus magnifiquement, Cavaliers montés sur des chevaux, Tous jeunes et charmants. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τω̃ν 'Ασσυρίων ἐπέθετο ἡγουμένους καὶ στρατηγοὺς τοὺς ἐγγὺς αὐτη̃ς ἐνδεδυκότας εὐπάρυφα ἱππει̃ς ἱππαζομένους ἐφ' ἵππων νεανίσκοι ἐπίλεκτοι πάντες (Ⅲ)

- ad filios Assyriorum præbuit impudenter,/ ducibus et magistratibus ad se venientibus,/ indutis veste varia,/ equitibus qui vectabantur equis,/ et adolescentibus forma cunctis egregia./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃23 אל בני אשור עגבה פחות וסגנים קרבים לבשי מכלול פרשים רכבי סוסים בחורי חמד כלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 13

Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way,

- Je vis qu'elle s'était souillée, Que l'une et l'autre avaient suivi la même voie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃δον ὅτι μεμίανται ὁδὸς μία τω̃ν δύο (Ⅲ)

- Et vidi quod polluta esset via una ambarum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃23 וארא כי נטמאה דרך אחד לשתיהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 14

And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,

- Elle alla même plus loin dans ses prostitutions. Elle aperçut contre les murailles des peintures d'hommes, Des images de Chaldéens peints en couleur rouge, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ προσέθετο πρὸς τὴν πορνείαν αὐτη̃ς καὶ εἰ̃δεν ἄνδρας ἐζωγραφημένους ἐπὶ του̃ τοίχου εἰκόνας Χαλδαίων ἐζωγραφημένους ἐν γραφίδι (Ⅲ)

- Et auxit fornicationes suas :/ cumque vidisset viros depictos in pariete,/ imagines Chaldæorum expressas coloribus,/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃23 ותוסף אל תזנותיה ותרא אנשי מחקה על הקיר צלמי *כשדיים **כשדים חקקים בששר ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 15

Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:

- Avec des ceintures autour des reins, Avec des turbans de couleurs variées flottant sur la tête, Tous ayant l'apparence de chefs, Et figurant des enfants de Babylone, De la Chaldée, leur patrie; (Ⅱ)

- ἐζωσμένους ποικίλματα ἐπὶ τὰς ὀσφύας αὐτω̃ν καὶ τιάραι βαπταὶ ἐπὶ τω̃ν κεφαλω̃ν αὐτω̃ν ὄψις τρισσὴ πάντων ὁμοίωμα υἱω̃ν Χαλδαίων γη̃ς πατρίδος αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- et accinctos balteis renes,/ et tiaras tinctas in capitibus eorum,/ formam ducum omnium,/ similitudinem filiorum Babylonis,/ terræque Chaldæorum, in qua orti sunt,/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃23 חגורי אזור במתניהם סרוחי טבולים בראשיהם מראה שלשים כלם דמות בני בבל כשדים ארץ מולדתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 16

And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.

- Elle s'enflamma pour eux, au premier regard, Et leur envoya des messagers en Chaldée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέθετο ἐπ' αὐτοὺς τη̨̃ ὁράσει ὀφθαλμω̃ν αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν ἀγγέλους πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἰς γη̃ν Χαλδαίων (Ⅲ)

- insanivit super eos concupiscentia oculorum suorum,/ et misit nuntios ad eos in Chaldæam./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃23 *ותעגב **ותעגבה עליהם למראה עיניה ותשלח מלאכים אליהם כשדימה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 17

And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them.

- Et les enfants de Babylone se rendirent auprès d'elle, Pour partager le lit des amours, Et ils la souillèrent par leurs prostitutions. Elle s'est souillée avec eux, Puis son coeur s'est détaché d'eux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤλθοσαν πρὸς αὐτὴν υἱοὶ Βαβυλω̃νος εἰς κοίτην καταλυόντων καὶ ἐμίαινον αὐτὴν ἐν τη̨̃ πορνεία̨ αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐμιάνθη ἐν αὐτοι̃ς καὶ ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτη̃ς ἀπ' αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Cumque venissent ad eam filii Babylonis ad cubile mammarum,/ polluerunt eam stupris suis :/ et polluta est ab eis,/ et saturata est anima ejus ab illis./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃23 ויבאו אליה בני בבל למשכב דדים ויטמאו אותה בתזנותם ותטמא בם ותקע נפשה מהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 18

So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her, like as my mind was alienated from her sister.

- Elle a mis à nu son impudicité, Elle a découvert sa nudité; Et mon coeur s'est détaché d'elle, Comme mon coeur s'était détaché de sa soeur. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπεκάλυψεν τὴν πορνείαν αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἀπεκάλυψεν τὴν αἰσχύνην αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχή μου ἀπ' αὐτη̃ς ὃν τρόπον ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχή μου ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἀδελφη̃ς αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Denudavit quoque fornicationes suas,/ et discooperuit ignominiam suam :/ et recessit anima mea ab ea,/ sicut recesserat anima mea a sorore ejus :/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃23 ותגל תזנותיה ותגל את ערותה ותקע נפשי מעליה כאשר נקעה נפשי מעל אחותה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 19

Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.

- Elle a multiplié ses prostitutions, En pensant aux jours de sa jeunesse, Lorsqu'elle se prostituait au pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπλήθυνας τὴν πορνείαν σου του̃ ἀναμνη̃σαι ἡμέρας νεότητός σου ἐν αἱ̃ς ἐπόρνευσας ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ (Ⅲ)

- multiplicavit enim fornicationes suas,/ recordans dies adolescentiæ suæ,/ quibus fornicata est in terra Ægypti./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃23 ותרבה את תזנותיה לזכר את ימי נעוריה אשר זנתה בארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 20

For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.

- Elle s'est enflammée pour des impudiques, Dont la chair était comme celle des ânes, Et l'approche comme celle des chevaux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέθου ἐπὶ τοὺς Χαλδαίους ὡ̃ν ἠ̃σαν ὡς ὄνων αἱ σάρκες αὐτω̃ν καὶ αἰδοι̃α ἵππων τὰ αἰδοι̃α αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et insanivit libidine super concubitum eorum,/ quorum carnes sunt ut carnes asinorum,/ et sicut fluxus equorum fluxus eorum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃23 ותעגבה על פלגשיהם אשר בשר חמורים בשרם וזרמת סוסים זרמתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 21

Thus thou calledst to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats by the Egyptians for the paps of thy youth.

- Tu t'es souvenue des crimes de ta jeunesse, Lorsque les Égyptiens pressaient tes mamelles, A cause de ton sein virginal. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπεσκέψω τὴν ἀνομίαν νεότητός σου ἃ ἐποίεις ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ ἐν τω̨̃ καταλύματί σου οὑ̃ οἱ μαστοὶ νεότητός σου (Ⅲ)

- Et visitasti scelus adolescentiæ tuæ,/ quando subacta sunt in Ægypto ubera tua,/ et confractæ sunt mammæ pubertatis tuæ.]\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃23 ותפקדי את זמת נעוריך בעשות ממצרים דדיך למען שדי נעוריך ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 22

Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;

- C'est pourquoi, Oholiba, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, j'excite contre toi tes amants, Ceux dont ton coeur s'est détaché, Et je les amène de toutes parts contre toi; (Ⅱ)

- διὰ του̃το Οολιβα τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξεγείρω τοὺς ἐραστάς σου ἐπὶ σέ ἀφ' ὡ̃ν ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχή σου ἀπ' αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐπάξω αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ σὲ κυκλόθεν (Ⅲ)

- Propterea, Ooliba, hæc dicit Dominus Deus :/ Ecce ego suscitabo omnes amatores tuos contra te,/ de quibus satiata est anima tua,/ et congregabo eos adversum te in circuitu :/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃23 לכן אהליבה כה אמר אדני יהוה הנני מעיר את מאהביך עליך את אשר נקעה נפשך מהם והבאתים עליך מסביב ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 23

The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.

- Les enfants de Babylone et tous les Chaldéens, Nobles, princes et seigneurs, Et tous les enfants de l'Assyrie avec eux, Jeunes et charmants, Tous gouverneurs et chefs, Chefs illustres, Tous montés sur des chevaux. (Ⅱ)

- υἱοὺς Βαβυλω̃νος καὶ πάντας τοὺς Χαλδαίους Φακουδ καὶ Σουε καὶ Κουε καὶ πάντας υἱοὺς 'Ασσυρίων μετ' αὐτω̃ν νεανίσκους ἐπιλέκτους ἡγεμόνας καὶ στρατηγοὺς πάντας τρισσοὺς καὶ ὀνομαστοὺς ἱππεύοντας ἐφ' ἵππων (Ⅲ)

- filios Babylonis, et universos Chaldæos,/ nobiles, tyrannosque, et principes,/ omnes filios Assyriorum,/ juvenes forma egregia,/ duces et magistratus universos,/ principes principum, et nominatos ascensores equorum :/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃23 בני בבל וכל כשדים פקוד ושוע וקוע כל בני אשור אותם בחורי חמד פחות וסגנים כלם שלשים וקרואים רכבי סוסים כלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 24

And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.

- Ils marchent contre toi avec des armes, des chars et des roues, Et une multitude de peuples; Avec le grand bouclier et le petit bouclier, avec les casques, Ils s'avancent de toutes parts contre toi. Je leur remets le jugement, Et ils te jugeront selon leurs lois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πάντες ἥξουσιν ἐπὶ σὲ ἀπὸ βορρα̃ ἅρματα καὶ τροχοὶ μετ' ὄχλου λαω̃ν θυρεοὶ καὶ πέλται καὶ βαλου̃σιν φυλακὴν ἐπὶ σὲ κύκλω̨ καὶ δώσω πρὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν κρίμα καὶ ἐκδικήσουσίν σε ἐν τοι̃ς κρίμασιν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- et venient super te instructi curru et rota,/ multitudo populorum :/ lorica, et clypeo, et galea armabuntur contra te undique :/ et dabo coram eis judicium,/ et judicabunt te judiciis suis./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃23 ובאו עליך הצן רכב וגלגל ובקהל עמים צנה ומגן וקובע ישימו עליך סביב ונתתי לפניהם משפט ושפטוך במשפטיהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 25

And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.

- Je répands ma colère sur toi, Et ils te traiteront avec fureur. Ils te couperont le nez et les oreilles, Et ce qui reste de toi tombera par l'épée; Ils prendront tes fils et tes filles, Et ce qui reste de toi sera dévoré par le feu. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ δώσω τὸν ζη̃λόν μου ἐν σοί καὶ ποιήσουσιν μετὰ σου̃ ἐν ὀργη̨̃ θυμου̃ μυκτη̃ρά σου καὶ ὠ̃τά σου ἀφελου̃σιν καὶ τοὺς καταλοίπους σου ἐν ῥομφαία̨ καταβαλου̃σιν αὐτοὶ υἱούς σου καὶ θυγατέρας σου λήμψονται καὶ τοὺς καταλοίπους σου πυ̃ρ καταφάγεται (Ⅲ)

- Et ponam zelum meum in te,/ quem exercent tecum in furore :/ nasum tuum et aures tuas præcident,/ et quæ remanserint, gladio concident./ Ipsi filios tuos et filias tuas capient,/ et novissimum tuum devorabitur igni :/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃23 ונתתי קנאתי בך ועשו אותך בחמה אפך ואזניך יסירו ואחריתך בחרב תפול המה בניך ובנותיך יקחו ואחריתך תאכל באש ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 26

They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels.

- Ils te dépouilleront de tes vêtements, Et ils enlèveront les ornements dont tu te pares. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκδύσουσίν σε τὸν ἱματισμόν σου καὶ λήμψονται τὰ σκεύη τη̃ς καυχήσεώς σου (Ⅲ)

- et denudabunt te vestimentis tuis,/ et tollent vasa gloriæ tuæ./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃23 והפשיטוך את בגדיך ולקחו כלי תפארתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 27

Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.

- Je mettrai fin à tes crimes Et à tes prostitutions du pays d'Égypte; Tu ne porteras plus tes regards vers eux, Tu ne penseras plus à l'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀποστρέψω τὰς ἀσεβείας σου ἐκ σου̃ καὶ τὴν πορνείαν σου ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου καὶ οὐ μὴ ἄρη̨ς τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου ἐπ' αὐτοὺς καὶ Αἰγύπτου οὐ μὴ μνησθη̨̃ς οὐκέτι (Ⅲ)

- Et requiescere faciam scelus tuum de te,/ et fornicationem tuam de terra Ægypti :/ nec levabis oculos tuos ad eos,/ et Ægypti non recordaberis amplius.]\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃23 והשבתי זמתך ממך ואת זנותך מארץ מצרים ולא תשאי עיניך אליהם ומצרים לא תזכרי עוד ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 28

For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:

- Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, je te livre entre les mains de ceux que tu hais, Entre les mains de ceux dont ton coeur s'est détaché. (Ⅱ)

- διότι τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ παραδίδωμί σε εἰς χει̃ρας ὡ̃ν μισει̃ς ἀφ' ὡ̃ν ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχή σου ἀπ' αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Quia hæc dicit Dominus Deus :/ Ecce ego tradam te in manus eorum quos odisti,/ in manus de quibus satiata est anima tua./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃23 כי כה אמר אדני יהוה הנני נתנך ביד אשר שנאת ביד אשר נקעה נפשך מהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 29

And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.

- Ils te traiteront avec haine; Ils enlèveront toutes tes richesses, Et te laisseront nue, entièrement nue; La honte de tes impudicités sera découverte, De tes crimes et de tes prostitutions. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ποιήσουσιν ἐν σοὶ ἐν μίσει καὶ λήμψονται πάντας τοὺς πόνους σου καὶ τοὺς μόχθους σου καὶ ἔση̨ γυμνὴ καὶ ἀσχημονου̃σα καὶ ἀποκαλυφθήσεται αἰσχύνη πορνείας σου καὶ ἀσέβειά σου καὶ ἡ πορνεία σου (Ⅲ)

- Et agent tecum in odio,/ et tollent omnes labores tuos,/ et dimittent te nudam et ignominia plenam :/ et revelabitur ignominia fornicationum tuarum,/ scelus tuum, et fornicationes tuæ./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃23 ועשו אותך בשנאה ולקחו כל יגיעך ועזבוך עירם ועריה ונגלה ערות זנוניך וזמתך ותזנותיך ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 30

I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.

- Ces choses t'arriveront, Parce que tu t'es prostituée aux nations, Parce que tu t'es souillée par leurs idoles. (Ⅱ)

- ἐποίησεν ταυ̃τά σοι ἐν τω̨̃ ἐκπορνευ̃σαί σε ὀπίσω ἐθνω̃ν καὶ ἐμιαίνου ἐν τοι̃ς ἐνθυμήμασιν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Fecerunt hæc tibi,/ quia fornicata es post gentes/ inter quas polluta es in idolis earum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃23 עשה אלה לך בזנותך אחרי גוים על אשר נטמאת בגלוליהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 31

Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.

- Tu as marché dans la voie de ta soeur, Et je mets sa coupe dans ta main. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ τη̃ς ἀδελφη̃ς σου ἐπορεύθης καὶ δώσω τὸ ποτήριον αὐτη̃ς εἰς χει̃ράς σου (Ⅲ)

- In via sororis tuæ ambulasti,/ et dabo calicem ejus in manu tua./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃23 בדרך אחותך הלכת ונתתי כוסה בידך ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 32

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister's cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.

- Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Tu boiras la coupe de ta soeur, Tu la boiras large et profonde; Elle te rendra un objet de risée et de moquerie; Elle contient beaucoup. (Ⅱ)

- τάδε λέγει κύριος τὸ ποτήριον τη̃ς ἀδελφη̃ς σου πίεσαι τὸ βαθὺ καὶ τὸ πλατὺ τὸ πλεονάζον του̃ συντελέσαι (Ⅲ)

- Hæc dicit Dominus Deus :/ Calicem sororis tuæ bibes profundum et latum :/ eris in derisum et in subsannationem quæ est capacissima./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃23 כה אמר אדני יהוה כוס אחותך תשתי העמקה והרחבה תהיה לצחק וללעג מרבה להכיל ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 33

Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.

- Tu seras remplie d'ivresse et de douleur; C'est la coupe de désolation et de destruction, La coupe de ta soeur Samarie. (Ⅱ)

- μέθην καὶ ἐκλύσεως πλησθήση̨ καὶ τὸ ποτήριον ἀφανισμου̃ ποτήριον ἀδελφη̃ς σου Σαμαρείας (Ⅲ)

- Ebrietate et dolore repleberis :/ calice mœroris et tristitiæ,/ calice sororis tuæ Samariæ./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃23 שכרון ויגון תמלאי כוס שמה ושממה כוס אחותך שמרון ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 34

Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.

- Tu la boiras, tu la videras, Tu la briseras en morceaux, Et tu te déchireras le sein. Car j'ai parlé, Dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πίεσαι αὐτό καὶ τὰς ἑορτὰς καὶ τὰς νεομηνίας αὐτη̃ς ἀποστρέψω διότι ἐγὼ λελάληκα λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ)

- Et bibes illum, et epotabis usque ad fæces :/ et fragmenta ejus devorabis,/ et ubera tua lacerabis,/ quia ego locutus sum, ait Dominus Deus./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃23 ושתית אותה ומצית ואת חרשיה תגרמי ושדיך תנתקי כי אני דברתי נאם אדני יהוה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 35

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.

- C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que tu m'as oublié, Parce que tu m'as rejeté derrière ton dos, Porte donc aussi la peine de tes crimes et de tes prostitutions. (Ⅱ)

- διὰ του̃το τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν ἐπελάθου μου καὶ ἀπέρριψάς με ὀπίσω του̃ σώματός σου καὶ σὺ λαβὲ τὴν ἀσέβειάν σου καὶ τὴν πορνείαν σου (Ⅲ)

- Propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus :/ Quia oblita es mei,/ et projecisti me post corpus tuum,/ tu quoque porta scelus tuum et fornicationes tuas.]\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃23 לכן כה אמר אדני יהוה יען שכחת אותי ותשליכי אותי אחרי גוך וגם את שאי זמתך ואת תזנותיך ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 36

The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;

- L'Éternel me dit: Fils de l'homme, jugeras-tu Ohola et Oholiba? Déclare-leur leurs abominations! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου οὐ κρινει̃ς τὴν Οολαν καὶ τὴν Οολιβαν καὶ ἀπαγγελει̃ς αὐται̃ς τὰς ἀνομίας αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et ait Dominus ad me, dicens : [Fili hominis, numquid judicas Oollam et Oolibam,/ et annuntias eis scelera earum ?/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃23 ויאמר יהוה אלי בן אדם התשפוט את אהלה ואת אהליבה והגד להן את תועבותיהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 37

That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.

- Elles se sont livrées à l'adultère, et il y a du sang à leurs mains: Elles ont commis adultère avec leurs idoles; Et les enfants qu'elles m'avaient enfantés, Elles les ont fait passer par le feu Pour qu'ils leur servent d'aliment. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἐμοιχω̃ντο καὶ αἱ̃μα ἐν χερσὶν αὐτω̃ν τὰ ἐνθυμήματα αὐτω̃ν ἐμοιχω̃ντο καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτω̃ν ἃ ἐγέννησάν μοι διήγαγον αὐτοι̃ς δι' ἐμπύρων (Ⅲ)

- Quia adulteratæ sunt, et sanguis in manibus earum,/ et cum idolis suis fornicatæ sunt :/ insuper et filios suos quos genuerunt mihi,/ obtulerunt eis ad devorandum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃23 כי נאפו ודם בידיהן ואת גלוליהן נאפו וגם את בניהן אשר ילדו לי העבירו להם לאכלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 38

Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.

- Voici encore ce qu'elles m'ont fait: Elles ont souillé mon sanctuaire dans le même jour, Et elles ont profané mes sabbats. (Ⅱ)

- ἕως καὶ ταυ̃τα ἐποίησάν μοι τὰ ἅγιά μου ἐμίαινον καὶ τὰ σάββατά μου ἐβεβήλουν (Ⅲ)

- Sed et hoc fecerunt mihi :/ polluerunt sanctuarium meum in die illa,/ et sabbata mea profanaverunt./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃23 עוד זאת עשו לי טמאו את מקדשי ביום ההוא ואת שבתותי חללו ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 39

For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.

- Elles ont immolé leurs enfants à leurs idoles, Et elles sont allées le même jour dans mon sanctuaire, Pour le profaner. C'est là ce qu'elles ont fait dans ma maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ σφάζειν αὐτοὺς τὰ τέκνα αὐτω̃ν τοι̃ς εἰδώλοις αὐτω̃ν καὶ εἰσεπορεύοντο εἰς τὰ ἅγιά μου του̃ βεβηλου̃ν αὐτά καὶ ὅτι οὕτως ἐποίουν ἐν μέσω̨ του̃ οἴκου μου (Ⅲ)

- Cumque immolarent filios suos idolis suis,/ et ingrederentur sanctuarium meum in die illa ut polluerent illud,/ etiam hæc fecerunt in medio domus meæ./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃23 ובשחטם את בניהם לגלוליהם ויבאו אל מקדשי ביום ההוא לחללו והנה כה עשו בתוך ביתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 40

And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,

- Et même elles ont fait chercher des hommes venant de loin, Elles leur ont envoyé des messagers, et voici, ils sont venus. Pour eux tu t'es lavée, tu as mis du fard à tes yeux, Tu t'es parée de tes ornements; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὅτι τοι̃ς ἀνδράσιν τοι̃ς ἐρχομένοις μακρόθεν οἱ̃ς ἀγγέλους ἐξαπεστέλλοσαν πρὸς αὐτούς καὶ ἅμα τω̨̃ ἔρχεσθαι αὐτοὺς εὐθὺς ἐλούου καὶ ἐστιβίζου τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου καὶ ἐκόσμου κόσμω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Miserunt ad viros venientes de longe,/ ad quos nuntium miserant :/ itaque ecce venerunt quibus te lavisti,/ et circumlinisti stibio oculos tuos,/ et ornata es mundo muliebri./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃23 ואף כי תשלחנה לאנשים באים ממרחק אשר מלאך שלוח אליהם והנה באו לאשר רחצת כחלת עיניך ועדית עדי ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 41

And satest upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oil.

- Tu t'es assise sur un lit magnifique, Devant lequel une table était dressée, Et tu as placé sur cette table mon encens et mon huile. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάθου ἐπὶ κλίνης ἐστρωμένης καὶ τράπεζα κεκοσμημένη πρὸ προσώπου αὐτη̃ς καὶ τὸ θυμίαμά μου καὶ τὸ ἔλαιόν μου εὐφραίνοντο ἐν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Sedisti in lecto pulcherrimo,/ et mensa ornata est ante te :/ thymiama meum et unguentum meum posuisti super eam./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃23 וישבת על מטה כבודה ושלחן ערוך לפניה וקטרתי ושמני שמת עליה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 42

And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.

- On entendait les cris d'une multitude joyeuse; Et parmi cette foule d'hommes On a fait venir du désert des Sabéens, Qui ont mis des bracelets aux mains des deux soeurs Et de superbes couronnes sur leurs têtes. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ φωνὴν ἁρμονίας ἀνεκρούοντο καὶ πρὸς ἄνδρας ἐκ πλήθους ἀνθρώπων ἥκοντας ἐκ τη̃ς ἐρήμου καὶ ἐδίδοσαν ψέλια ἐπὶ τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτω̃ν καὶ στέφανον καυχήσεως ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et vox multitudinis exsultantis erat in ea :/ et in viris, qui de multitudine hominum adducebantur,/ et veniebant de deserto,/ posuerunt armillas in manibus eorum,/ et coronas speciosas in capitibus eorum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃23 וקול המון שלו בה ואל אנשים מרב אדם מובאים *סובאים **סבאים ממדבר ויתנו צמידים אל ידיהן ועטרת תפארת על ראשיהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 43

Then said I unto her that was old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them?

- Je dis alors au sujet de celle qui a vieilli dans l'adultère: Continuera-t-elle maintenant ses prostitutions, et viendra-t-on à elle? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πα οὐκ ἐν τούτοις μοιχεύουσιν καὶ ἔργα πόρνης καὶ αὐτὴ ἐξεπόρνευσεν (Ⅲ)

- Et dixi ei, quæ attrita est in adulteriis :/ Nunc fornicabitur in fornicatione sua etiam hæc./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃23 ואמר לבלה נאופים *עת **עתה *יזנה **יזנו תזנותה והיא ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 44

Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.

- Et l'on est venu vers elle comme l'on va chez une prostituée; C'est ainsi qu'on est allé vers Ohola et Oholiba, Ces femmes criminelles. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσεπορεύοντο πρὸς αὐτήν ὃν τρόπον εἰσπορεύονται πρὸς γυναι̃κα πόρνην οὕτως εἰσεπορεύοντο πρὸς Οολαν καὶ πρὸς Οολιβαν του̃ ποιη̃σαι ἀνομίαν (Ⅲ)

- Et ingressi sunt ad eam quasi ad mulierem meretricem :/ sic ingrediebantur ad Oollam et Oolibam, mulieres nefarias./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 44 ׃23 ויבוא אליה כבוא אל אשה זונה כן באו אל אהלה ואל אהליבה אשת הזמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 45

And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.

- Mais des hommes justes les jugeront, Comme on juge les femmes adultères, Comme on juge celles qui répandent le sang; Car elles sont adultères, et il y a du sang à leurs mains. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἄνδρες δίκαιοι αὐτοὶ ἐκδικήσουσιν αὐτὰς ἐκδικήσει μοιχαλίδος καὶ ἐκδικήσει αἵματος ὅτι μοιχαλίδες εἰσίν καὶ αἱ̃μα ἐν χερσὶν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Viri ergo justi sunt :/ hi judicabunt eas judicio adulterarum,/ et judicio effundentium sanguinem :/ quia adulteræ sunt,/ et sanguis in manibus earum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 45 ׃23 ואנשים צדיקם המה ישפטו אותהם משפט נאפות ומשפט שפכות דם כי נאפת הנה ודם בידיהן ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 46

For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.

- Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Je ferai monter contre elles une multitude, Et je les livrerai à la terreur et au pillage. (Ⅱ)

- τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἀνάγαγε ἐπ' αὐτὰς ὄχλον καὶ δὸς ἐν αὐται̃ς ταραχὴν καὶ διαρπαγὴν (Ⅲ)

- Hæc enim dicit Dominus Deus :/ Adduc ad eas multitudinem,/ et trade eas in tumultum et in rapinam./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 46 ׃23 כי כה אמר אדני יהוה העלה עליהם קהל ונתן אתהן לזעוה ולבז ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 47

And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.

- Cette multitude les lapidera, Et les abattra à coups d'épée; On tuera leurs fils et leurs filles, On brûlera leurs maisons par le feu. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ λιθοβόλησον ἐπ' αὐτὰς λίθοις ὄχλων καὶ κατακέντει αὐτὰς ἐν τοι̃ς ξίφεσιν αὐτω̃ν υἱοὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ θυγατέρας αὐτω̃ν ἀποκτενου̃σι καὶ τοὺς οἴκους αὐτω̃ν ἐμπρήσουσιν (Ⅲ)

- Et lapidentur lapidibus populorum,/ et confodiantur gladiis eorum :/ filios et filias earum interficient,/ et domos earum igne succendent./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 47 ׃23 ורגמו עליהן אבן קהל וברא אותהן בחרבותם בניהם ובנותיהם יהרגו ובתיהן באש ישרפו ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 48

Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.

- Je ferai cesser ainsi le crime dans le pays; Toutes les femmes recevront instruction, Et ne commettront pas de crime comme le vôtre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀποστρέψω ἀσέβειαν ἐκ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ παιδευθήσονται πα̃σαι αἱ γυναι̃κες καὶ οὐ μὴ ποιήσουσιν κατὰ τὰς ἀσεβείας αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et auferam scelus de terra,/ et discent omnes mulieres ne faciant secundum scelus earum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 48 ׃23 והשבתי זמה מן הארץ ונוסרו כל הנשים ולא תעשינה כזמתכנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 49

And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

- On fera retomber votre crime sur vous, Et vous porterez les péchés de vos idoles. Et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur, l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)
