Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
- La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων (Ⅲ) - Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃33 ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר (Ⅴ)

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
- Fils de l'homme, parle aux enfants de ton peuple, et dis-leur: Lorsque je fais venir l'épée sur un pays, et que le peuple du pays prend dans son sein un homme et l'établit comme sentinelle, - (Ⅱ) - υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου λάλησον τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς του̃ λαου̃ σου καὶ ἐρει̃ς πρὸς αὐτούς γη̃ ἐφ' ἣν ἂν ἐπάγω ῥομφαίαν καὶ λάβη̨ ὁ λαὸς τη̃ς γη̃ς ἄνθρωπον ἕνα ἐξ αὐτω̃ν καὶ δω̃σιν αὐτὸν ἑαυτοι̃ς εἰς σκοπόν (Ⅲ) - Fili hominis, loquere ad filios populi tui, et dices ad eos : Terra, cum induxero super eam gladium, et tulerit populus terræ virum unum de novissimis suis, et constituerit eum super se speculatorem : (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃33 בן אדם דבר אל בני עמך ואמרת אליהם ארץ כי אביא עליה חרב ולקחו עם הארץ איש אחד מקציהם ונתנו אתו להם לצפה (Ⅴ)

If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
- si cet homme voit venir l'épée sur le pays, sonne de la trompette, et avertit le peuple; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἴδη̨ τὴν ῥομφαίαν ἐρχομένην ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν καὶ σαλπίση̨ τη̨̃ σάλπιγγι καὶ σημάνη̨ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - et ille viderit gladium venientem super terram, et cecinerit buccina, et annuntiaverit populo : (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃33 וראה את החרב באה על הארץ ותקע בשופר והזהיר את העם (Ⅴ)

Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
- et si celui qui entend le son de la trompette ne se laisse pas avertir, et que l'épée vienne le surprendre, son sang sera sur sa tête. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀκούση̨ ὁ ἀκούσας τὴν φωνὴν τη̃ς σάλπιγγος καὶ μὴ φυλάξηται καὶ ἐπέλθη̨ ἡ ῥομφαία καὶ καταλάβη̨ αὐτόν τὸ αἱ̃μα αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τη̃ς κεφαλη̃ς αὐτου̃ ἔσται (Ⅲ) - audiens autem quisquis ille est sonitum buccinæ, et non se observaverit, veneritque gladius, et tulerit eum : sanguis ipsius super caput ejus erit. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃33 ושמע השמע את קול השופר ולא נזהר ותבוא חרב ותקחהו דמו בראשו יהיה (Ⅴ)

He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
- Il a entendu le son de la trompette, et il ne s'est pas laissé avertir, son sang sera sur lui; s'il se laisse avertir, il sauvera son âme. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι τὴν φωνὴν τη̃ς σάλπιγγος ἀκούσας οὐκ ἐφυλάξατο τὸ αἱ̃μα αὐτου̃ ἐπ' αὐτου̃ ἔσται καὶ οὑ̃τος ὅτι ἐφυλάξατο τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτου̃ ἐξείλατο (Ⅲ) - Sonum buccinæ audivit, et non se observavit : sanguis ejus in ipso erit. Si autem se custodierit, animam suam salvabit. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃33 את קול השופר שמע ולא נזהר דמו בו יהיה והוא נזהר נפשו מלט (Ⅴ)

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
- Si la sentinelle voit venir l'épée, et ne sonne pas de la trompette; si le peuple n'est pas averti, et que l'épée vienne enlever à quelqu'un la vie, celui-ci périra à cause de son iniquité, mais je redemanderai son sang à la sentinelle. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὁ σκοπός ἐὰν ἴδη̨ τὴν ῥομφαίαν ἐρχομένην καὶ μὴ σημάνη̨ τη̨̃ σάλπιγγι καὶ ὁ λαὸς μὴ φυλάξηται καὶ ἐλθου̃σα ἡ ῥομφαία λάβη̨ ἐξ αὐτω̃ν ψυχήν αὕτη διὰ τὴν αὑτη̃ς ἀνομίαν ἐλήμφθη καὶ τὸ αἱ̃μα ἐκ τη̃ς χειρὸς του̃ σκοπου̃ ἐκζητήσω (Ⅲ) - Quod si speculator viderit gladium venientem, et non insonuerit buccina, et populus se non custodierit, veneritque gladius, et tulerit de eis animam : ille quidem in iniquitate sua captus est ; sanguinem autem ejus de manu speculatoris requiram. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃33 והצפה כי יראה את החרב באה ולא תקע בשופר והעם לא נזהר ותבוא חרב ותקח מהם נפש הוא בעונו נלקח ודמו מיד הצפה אדרש ס (Ⅴ)

So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
- Et toi, fils de l'homme, je t'ai établi comme sentinelle sur la maison d'Israël. Tu dois écouter la parole qui sort de ma bouche, et les avertir de ma part. (Ⅱ) - καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου σκοπὸν δέδωκά σε τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀκούση̨ ἐκ στόματός μου λόγον (Ⅲ) - Et tu, fili hominis, speculatorem dedi te domui Israël : audiens ergo ex ore meo sermonem, annuntiabis eis ex me. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃33 ואתה בן אדם צפה נתתיך לבית ישראל ושמעת מפי דבר והזהרת אתם ממני (Ⅴ)

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
- Quand je dis au méchant: Méchant, tu mourras! si tu ne parles pas pour détourner le méchant de sa voie, ce méchant mourra dans son iniquité, et je te redemanderai son sang. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τω̨̃ εἰ̃παί με τω̨̃ ἁμαρτωλω̨̃ θανάτω̨ θανατωθήση̨ καὶ μὴ λαλήση̨ς του̃ φυλάξασθαι τὸν ἀσεβη̃ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ὁδου̃ αὐτου̃ αὐτὸς ὁ ἄνομος τη̨̃ ἀνομία̨ αὐτου̃ ἀποθανει̃ται τὸ δὲ αἱ̃μα αὐτου̃ ἐκ τη̃ς χειρός σου ἐκζητήσω (Ⅲ) - Si me dicente ad impium : Impie, morte morieris : non fueris locutus ut se custodiat impius a via sua, ipse impius in iniquitate sua morietur ; sanguinem autem ejus de manu tua requiram. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃33 באמרי לרשע רשע מות תמות ולא דברת להזהיר רשע מדרכו הוא רשע בעונו ימות ודמו מידך אבקש (Ⅴ)

Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
- Mais si tu avertis le méchant pour le détourner de sa voie, et qu'il ne s'en détourne pas, il mourra dans son iniquité, et toi tu sauveras ton âme. (Ⅱ) - σὺ δὲ ἐὰν προαπαγγείλη̨ς τω̨̃ ἀσεβει̃ τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτου̃ του̃ ἀποστρέψαι ἀπ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ μὴ ἀποστρέψη̨ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ὁδου̃ αὐτου̃ οὑ̃τος τη̨̃ ἀσεβεία̨ αὐτου̃ ἀποθανει̃ται καὶ σὺ τὴν ψυχὴν σαυτου̃ ἐξή̨ρησαι (Ⅲ) - Si autem annuntiante te ad impium ut a viis suis convertatur, non fuerit conversus a via sua, ipse in iniquitate sua morietur, porro tu animam tuam liberasti.\ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃33 ואתה כי הזהרת רשע מדרכו לשוב ממנה ולא שב מדרכו הוא בעונו ימות ואתה נפשך הצלת ס (Ⅴ)

Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
- Et toi, fils de l'homme, dis à la maison d'Israël: Vous dites: Nos transgressions et nos péchés sont sur nous, et c'est à cause d'eux que nous sommes frappés de langueur; comment pourrions-nous vivre? (Ⅱ) - καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου εἰπὸν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ Ισραηλ οὕτως ἐλαλήσατε λέγοντες αἱ πλάναι ἡμω̃ν καὶ αἱ ἀνομίαι ἡμω̃ν ἐφ' ἡμι̃ν εἰσιν καὶ ἐν αὐται̃ς ἡμει̃ς τηκόμεθα καὶ πω̃ς ζησόμεθα (Ⅲ) - Tu ergo, fili hominis, dic ad domum Israël : Sic locuti estis, dicentes : Iniquitates nostræ et peccata nostra super nos sunt, et in ipsis nos tabescimus : quomodo ergo vivere poterimus ? (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃33 ואתה בן אדם אמר אל בית ישראל כן אמרתם לאמר כי פשעינו וחטאתינו עלינו ובם אנחנו נמקים ואיך נחיה (Ⅴ)

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
- Dis-leur: je suis vivant! dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, ce que je désire, ce n'est pas que le méchant meure, c'est qu'il change de conduite et qu'il vive. Revenez, revenez de votre mauvaise voie; et pourquoi mourriez-vous, maison d'Israël? (Ⅱ) - εἰπὸν αὐτοι̃ς ζω̃ ἐγώ τάδε λέγει κύριος οὐ βούλομαι τὸν θάνατον του̃ ἀσεβου̃ς ὡς τὸ ἀποστρέψαι τὸν ἀσεβη̃ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ὁδου̃ αὐτου̃ καὶ ζη̃ν αὐτόν ἀποστροφη̨̃ ἀποστρέψατε ἀπὸ τη̃ς ὁδου̃ ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἵνα τί ἀποθνή̨σκετε οἰ̃κος Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Dic ad eos : Vivo ego, dicit Dominus Deus, nolo mortem impii, sed ut convertatur impius a via sua, et vivat. Convertimini, convertimini a viis vestris pessimis, et quare moriemini, domus Israël ? (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃33 אמר אליהם חי אני נאם אדני יהוה אם אחפץ במות הרשע כי אם בשוב רשע מדרכו וחיה שובו שובו מדרכיכם הרעים ולמה תמותו בית ישראל פ (Ⅴ)

Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
- Et toi, fils de l'homme, dis aux enfants de ton peuple: La justice du juste ne le sauvera pas au jour de sa transgression; et le méchant ne tombera pas par sa méchanceté le jour où il s'en détournera, de même que le juste ne pourra pas vivre par sa justice au jour de sa transgression. (Ⅱ) - εἰπὸν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς του̃ λαου̃ σου δικαιοσύνη δικαίου οὐ μὴ ἐξέληται αὐτὸν ἐν ἡ̨̃ ἂν ἡμέρα̨ πλανηθη̨̃ καὶ ἀνομία ἀσεβου̃ς οὐ μὴ κακώση̨ αὐτὸν ἐν ἡ̨̃ ἂν ἡμέρα̨ ἀποστρέψη̨ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἀνομίας αὐτου̃ καὶ δίκαιος οὐ μὴ δύνηται σωθη̃ναι (Ⅲ) - Tu itaque, fili hominis, dic ad filios populi tui : Justitia justi non liberabit eum, in quacumque die peccaverit, et impietas impii non nocebit ei, in quacumque die conversus fuerit ab impietate sua : et justus non poterit vivere in justitia sua, in quacumque die peccaverit. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃33 ואתה בן אדם אמר אל בני עמך צדקת הצדיק לא תצילנו ביום פשעו ורשעת הרשע לא יכשל בה ביום שובו מרשעו וצדיק לא יוכל לחיות בה ביום חטאתו (Ⅴ)

When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
- Lorsque je dis au juste qu'il vivra, -s'il se confie dans sa justice et commet l'iniquité, toute sa justice sera oubliée, et il mourra à cause de l'iniquité qu'il a commise. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τω̨̃ εἰ̃παί με τω̨̃ δικαίω̨ οὑ̃τος πέποιθεν ἐπὶ τη̨̃ δικαιοσύνη̨ αὐτου̃ καὶ ποιήση̨ ἀνομίαν πα̃σαι αἱ δικαιοσύναι αὐτου̃ οὐ μὴ ἀναμνησθω̃σιν ἐν τη̨̃ ἀδικία̨ αὐτου̃ ἡ̨̃ ἐποίησεν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἀποθανει̃ται (Ⅲ) - Etiamsi dixero justo quod vita vivat, et confisus in justitia sua fecerit iniquitatem, omnes justitiæ ejus oblivioni tradentur, et in iniquitate sua quam operatus est, in ipsa morietur. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃33 באמרי לצדיק חיה יחיה והוא בטח על צדקתו ועשה עול כל *צדקתו **צדקתיו לא תזכרנה ובעולו אשר עשה בו ימות (Ⅴ)

Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
- Lorsque je dis au méchant: Tu mourras! -s'il revient de son péché et pratique la droiture et la justice, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ εἰ̃παί με τω̨̃ ἀσεβει̃ θανάτω̨ θανατωθήση̨ καὶ ἀποστρέψη̨ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἁμαρτίας αὐτου̃ καὶ ποιήση̨ κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην (Ⅲ) - Si autem dixero impio : Morte morieris : et egerit pœnitentiam a peccato suo, feceritque judicium et justitiam, (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃33 ובאמרי לרשע מות תמות ושב מחטאתו ועשה משפט וצדקה (Ⅴ)

If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
- s'il rend le gage, s'il restitue ce qu'il a ravi, s'il suit les préceptes qui donnent la vie, sans commettre l'iniquité, il vivra, il ne mourra pas. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐνεχύρασμα ἀποδω̨̃ καὶ ἅρπαγμα ἀποτείση̨ ἐν προστάγμασιν ζωη̃ς διαπορεύηται του̃ μὴ ποιη̃σαι ἄδικον ζωη̨̃ ζήσεται καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνη̨ (Ⅲ) - et pignus restituerit ille impius, rapinamque reddiderit, in mandatis vitæ ambulaverit, nec fecerit quidquam injustum : vita vivet, et non morietur. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃33 חבל ישיב רשע גזלה ישלם בחקות החיים הלך לבלתי עשות עול חיו יחיה לא ימות (Ⅴ)

None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
- Tous les péchés qu'il a commis seront oubliés; il pratique la droiture et la justice, il vivra. (Ⅱ) - πα̃σαι αἱ ἁμαρτίαι αὐτου̃ ἃς ἥμαρτεν οὐ μὴ ἀναμνησθω̃σιν ὅτι κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην ἐποίησεν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς ζήσεται (Ⅲ) - Omnia peccata ejus quæ peccavit, non imputabuntur ei : judicium et justitiam fecit : vita vivet. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃33 כל *חטאתו **חטאתיו אשר חטא לא תזכרנה לו משפט וצדקה עשה חיו יחיה (Ⅴ)

Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
- Les enfants de ton peuple disent: La voie du Seigneur n'est pas droite. C'est leur voie qui n'est pas droite. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐρου̃σιν οἱ υἱοὶ του̃ λαου̃ σου οὐκ εὐθει̃α ἡ ὁδὸς του̃ κυρίου καὶ αὕτη ἡ ὁδὸς αὐτω̃ν οὐκ εὐθει̃α (Ⅲ) - Et dixerunt filii populi tui : Non est æqui ponderis via Domini : et ipsorum via injusta est. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃33 ואמרו בני עמך לא יתכן דרך אדני והמה דרכם לא יתכן (Ⅴ)

When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
- Si le juste se détourne de sa justice et commet l'iniquité, il mourra à cause de cela. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τω̨̃ ἀποστρέψαι δίκαιον ἀπὸ τη̃ς δικαιοσύνης αὐτου̃ καὶ ποιήση̨ ἀνομίας καὶ ἀποθανει̃ται ἐν αὐται̃ς (Ⅲ) - Cum enim recesserit justus a justitia sua, feceritque iniquitates, morietur in eis. (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃33 בשוב צדיק מצדקתו ועשה עול ומת בהם (Ⅴ)

But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
- Si le méchant revient de sa méchanceté et pratique la droiture et la justice, il vivra à cause de cela. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ἀποστρέψαι τὸν ἁμαρτωλὸν ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἀνομίας αὐτου̃ καὶ ποιήση̨ κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην ἐν αὐτοι̃ς αὐτὸς ζήσεται (Ⅲ) - Et cum recesserit impius ab impietate sua, feceritque judicium et justitiam, vivet in eis. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃33 ובשוב רשע מרשעתו ועשה משפט וצדקה עליהם הוא יחיה (Ⅴ)

Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
- Vous dites: La voie du Seigneur n'est pas droite. Je vous jugerai chacun selon ses voies, maison d'Israël! (Ⅱ) - καὶ του̃τό ἐστιν ὃ εἴπατε οὐκ εὐθει̃α ἡ ὁδὸς κυρίου ἕκαστον ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς αὐτου̃ κρινω̃ ὑμα̃ς οἰ̃κος Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Et dicitis : Non est recta via Domini. Unumquemque juxta vias suas judicabo de vobis, domus Israël.\ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃33 ואמרתם לא יתכן דרך אדני איש כדרכיו אשפוט אתכם בית ישראל[p] פ (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.
- La douzième année, le cinquième jour du dixième mois de notre captivité, un homme qui s'était échappé de Jérusalem vint à moi et dit: La ville a été prise! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τω̨̃ δωδεκάτω̨ ἔτει ἐν τω̨̃ δωδεκάτω̨ μηνὶ πέμπτη̨ του̃ μηνὸς τη̃ς αἰχμαλωσίας ἡμω̃ν ἠ̃λθεν ὁ ἀνασωθεὶς πρός με ἀπὸ Ιερουσαλημ λέγων ἑάλω ἡ πόλις (Ⅲ) - Et factum est in duodecimo anno, in decimo mense, in quinta mensis transmigrationis nostræ, venit ad me qui fugerat de Jerusalem, dicens : Vastata est civitas. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃33 ויהי בשתי עשרה שנה בעשרי בחמשה לחדש לגלותנו בא אלי הפליט מירושלם לאמר הכתה העיר (Ⅴ)

Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.
- La main de l'Éternel avait été sur moi le soir avant l'arrivée du fugitif, et l'Éternel m'avait ouvert la bouche lorsqu'il vint auprès de moi le matin. Ma bouche était ouverte, et je n'étais plus muet. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐπ' ἐμὲ χεὶρ κυρίου ἑσπέρας πρὶν ἐλθει̃ν αὐτὸν καὶ ἤνοιξέν μου τὸ στόμα ἕως ἠ̃λθεν πρός με τὸ πρωί καὶ ἀνοιχθέν μου τὸ στόμα οὐ συνεσχέθη ἔτι (Ⅲ) - Manus autem Domini facta fuerat ad me vespere, antequam veniret qui fugerat : aperuitque os meum donec veniret ad me mane : et aperto ore meo, non silui amplius. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃33 ויד יהוה היתה אלי בערב לפני בוא הפליט ויפתח את פי עד בוא אלי בבקר ויפתח פי ולא נאלמתי עוד פ (Ⅴ)

Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
- Alors la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγενήθη λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων (Ⅲ) - Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃33 ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר (Ⅴ)

Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
- Fils de l'homme, ceux qui habitent ces ruines dans le pays d'Israël disent: Abraham était seul, et il a hérité le pays; à nous qui sommes nombreux, le pays est donné en possession. (Ⅱ) - υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου οἱ κατοικου̃ντες τὰς ἠρημωμένας ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς του̃ Ισραηλ λέγουσιν εἱ̃ς ἠ̃ν Αβρααμ καὶ κατέσχεν τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ἡμει̃ς πλείους ἐσμέν ἡμι̃ν δέδοται ἡ γη̃ εἰς κατάσχεσιν (Ⅲ) - Fili hominis, qui habitant in ruinosis his super humum Israël, loquentes aiunt : Unus erat Abraham, et hæreditate possedit terram : nos autem multi sumus : nobis data est terra in possessionem. (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃33 בן אדם ישבי החרבות האלה על אדמת ישראל אמרים לאמר אחד היה אברהם ויירש את הארץ ואנחנו רבים לנו נתנה הארץ למורשה ס (Ⅴ)

Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
- C'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Vous mangez vos aliments avec du sang, vous levez les yeux vers vos idoles, vous répandez le sang. Et vous posséderiez le pays! (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το εἰπὸν αὐτοι̃ς τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος (Ⅲ) - Idcirco dices ad eos : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Qui in sanguine comeditis, et oculos vestros levatis ad immunditias vestras, et sanguinem funditis, numquid terram hæreditate possidebitis ? (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃33 לכן אמר אליהם כה אמר אדני יהוה על הדם תאכלו ועינכם תשאו אל גלוליכם ודם תשפכו והארץ תירשו (Ⅴ)

Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and shall ye possess the land?
- Vous vous appuyez sur votre épée, vous commettez des abominations, chacun de vous déshonore la femme de son prochain. Et vous posséderiez le pays! (Ⅱ) - stetistis in gladiis vestris, fecistis abominationes, et unusquisque uxorem proximi sui polluit : et terram hæreditate possidebitis ? (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃33 עמדתם על חרבכם עשיתן תועבה ואיש את אשת רעהו טמאתם והארץ תירשו ס (Ⅴ)

Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
- Dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Je suis vivant! Ceux qui sont parmi les ruines tomberont par l'épée; ceux qui sont dans les champs, j'en ferai la pâture des bêtes; et ceux qui sont dans les forts et dans les cavernes mourront par la peste. (Ⅱ) - ζω̃ ἐγώ εἰ μὴν οἱ ἐν ται̃ς ἠρημωμέναις μαχαίρα̨ πεσου̃νται καὶ οἱ ἐπὶ προσώπου του̃ πεδίου τοι̃ς θηρίοις του̃ ἀγρου̃ δοθήσονται εἰς κατάβρωμα καὶ τοὺς ἐν ται̃ς τετειχισμέναις καὶ τοὺς ἐν τοι̃ς σπηλαίοις θανάτω̨ ἀποκτενω̃ (Ⅲ) - Hæc dices ad eos : Sic dicit Dominus Deus : Vivo ego, quia qui in ruinosis habitant, gladio cadent : et qui in agro est, bestiis tradetur ad devorandum : qui autem in præsidiis et speluncis sunt, peste morientur. (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃33 כה תאמר אלהם כה אמר אדני יהוה חי אני אם לא אשר בחרבות בחרב יפלו ואשר על פני השדה לחיה נתתיו לאכלו ואשר במצדות ובמערות בדבר ימותו (Ⅴ)

For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.
- Je réduirai le pays en solitude et en désert; l'orgueil de sa force prendra fin, les montagnes d'Israël seront désolées, personne n'y passera. (Ⅱ) - καὶ δώσω τὴν γη̃ν ἔρημον καὶ ἀπολει̃ται ἡ ὕβρις τη̃ς ἰσχύος αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐρημωθήσεται τὰ ὄρη του̃ Ισραηλ διὰ τὸ μὴ εἰ̃ναι διαπορευόμενον (Ⅲ) - Et dabo terram in solitudinem et in desertum, et deficiet superba fortitudo ejus : et desolabuntur montes Israël, eo quod nullus sit qui per eos transeat : (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃33 ונתתי את הארץ שממה ומשמה ונשבת גאון עזה ושממו הרי ישראל מאין עובר (Ⅴ)

Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.
- Et ils sauront que je suis l'Éternel, quand je réduirai le pays en solitude et en désert, à cause de toutes les abominations qu'ils ont commises. (Ⅱ) - καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος καὶ ποιήσω τὴν γη̃ν αὐτω̃ν ἔρημον καὶ ἐρημωθήσεται διὰ πάντα τὰ βδελύγματα αὐτω̃ν ἃ ἐποίησαν (Ⅲ) - et scient quia ego Dominus, cum dedero terram eorum desolatam et desertam, propter universas abominationes suas quas operati sunt. (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃33 וידעו כי אני יהוה בתתי את הארץ שממה ומשמה על כל תועבתם אשר עשו ס (Ⅴ)

Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
- Et toi, fils de l'homme, les enfants de ton peuple s'entretiennent de toi près des murs et aux portes des maisons, et ils se disent l'un à l'autre, chacun à son frère: Venez donc, et écoutez quelle est la parole qui est procédée de l'Éternel! (Ⅱ) - καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου οἱ υἱοὶ του̃ λαου̃ σου οἱ λαλου̃ντες περὶ σου̃ παρὰ τὰ τείχη καὶ ἐν τοι̃ς πυλω̃σι τω̃ν οἰκιω̃ν καὶ λαλου̃σιν ἄνθρωπος τω̨̃ ἀδελφω̨̃ αὐτου̃ λέγοντες συνέλθωμεν καὶ ἀκούσωμεν τὰ ἐκπορευόμενα παρὰ κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Et tu, fili hominis, filii populi tui, qui loquuntur de te juxta muros et in ostiis domorum, et dicunt unus ad alterum, vir ad proximum suum, loquentes : Venite, et audiamus quis sit sermo egrediens a Domino. (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃33 ואתה בן אדם בני עמך הנדברים בך אצל הקירות ובפתחי הבתים ודבר חד את אחד איש את אחיו לאמר באו נא ושמעו מה הדבר היוצא מאת יהוה (Ⅴ)

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
- Et ils se rendent en foule auprès de toi, et mon peuple s'assied devant toi; ils écoutent tes paroles, mais ils ne les mettent point en pratique, car leur bouche en fait un sujet de moquerie, et leur coeur se livre à la cupidité. (Ⅱ) - ἔρχονται πρὸς σέ ὡς συμπορεύεται λαός καὶ κάθηνται ἐναντίον σου καὶ ἀκούουσιν τὰ ῥήματά σου καὶ αὐτὰ οὐ μὴ ποιήσουσιν ὅτι ψευ̃δος ἐν τω̨̃ στόματι αὐτω̃ν καὶ ὀπίσω τω̃ν μιασμάτων ἡ καρδία αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et veniunt ad te, quasi si ingrediatur populus, et sedent coram te populus meus : et audiunt sermones tuos, et non faciunt eos : quia in canticum oris sui vertunt illos, et avaritiam suam sequitur cor eorum. (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃33 ויבואו אליך כמבוא עם וישבו לפניך עמי ושמעו את דבריך ואותם לא יעשו כי עגבים בפיהם המה עשים אחרי בצעם לבם הלך (Ⅴ)

And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
- Voici, tu es pour eux comme un chanteur agréable, possédant une belle voix, et habile dans la musique. Ils écoutent tes paroles, mais ils ne les mettent point en pratique. (Ⅱ) - καὶ γίνη̨ αὐτοι̃ς ὡς φωνὴ ψαλτηρίου ἡδυφώνου εὐαρμόστου καὶ ἀκούσονταί σου τὰ ῥήματα καὶ οὐ μὴ ποιήσουσιν αὐτά (Ⅲ) - Et es eis quasi carmen musicum, quod suavi dulcique sono canitur : et audiunt verba tua, et non faciunt ea. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃33 והנך להם כשיר עגבים יפה קול ומטב נגן ושמעו את דבריך ועשים אינם אותם (Ⅴ)

And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
- Quand ces choses arriveront, -et voici, elles arrivent! -ils sauront qu'il y avait un prophète au milieu d'eux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἡνίκα ἂν ἔλθη̨ ἐρου̃σιν ἰδοὺ ἥκει καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι προφήτης ἠ̃ν ἐν μέσω̨ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et cum venerit quod prædictum est (ecce enim venit), tunc scient quod prophetes fuerit inter eos. (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃33 ובבאה הנה באה וידעו כי נביא היה בתוכם ס (Ⅴ)
