He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
- Puis il cria d'une voix forte à mes oreilles: Approchez, vous qui devez châtier la ville, chacun son instrument de destruction à la main! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέκραγεν εἰς τὰ ὠ̃τά μου φωνη̨̃ μεγάλη̨ λέγων ἤγγικεν ἡ ἐκδίκησις τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ ἕκαστος εἰ̃χεν τὰ σκεύη τη̃ς ἐξολεθρεύσεως ἐν χειρὶ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et clamavit in auribus meis voce magna, dicens : Appropinquaverunt visitationes urbis, et unusquisque vas interfectionis habet in manu sua. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃9 ויקרא באזני קול גדול לאמר קרבו פקדות העיר ואיש כלי משחתו בידו (Ⅴ)

And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.
- Et voici, six hommes arrivèrent par le chemin de la porte supérieure du côté du septentrion, chacun son instrument de destruction à la main. Il y avait au milieu d'eux un homme vêtu de lin, et portant une écritoire à la ceinture. Ils vinrent se placer près de l'autel d'airain. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἰδοὺ ἓξ ἄνδρες ἤρχοντο ἀπὸ τη̃ς ὁδου̃ τη̃ς πύλης τη̃ς ὑψηλη̃ς τη̃ς βλεπούσης πρὸς βορρα̃ν καὶ ἑκάστου πέλυξ ἐν τη̨̃ χειρὶ αὐτου̃ καὶ εἱ̃ς ἀνὴρ ἐν μέσω̨ αὐτω̃ν ἐνδεδυκὼς ποδήρη καὶ ζώνη σαπφείρου ἐπὶ τη̃ς ὀσφύος αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰσήλθοσαν καὶ ἔστησαν ἐχόμενοι του̃ θυσιαστηρίου του̃ χαλκου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et ecce sex viri veniebant de via portæ superioris, quæ respicit ad aquilonem, et uniuscujusque vas interitus in manu ejus : vir quoque unus in medio eorum vestitus erat lineis, et atramentarium scriptoris ad renes ejus : et ingressi sunt, et steterunt juxta altare æreum. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃9 והנה ששה אנשים באים מדרך שער העליון אשר מפנה צפונה ואיש כלי מפצו בידו ואיש אחד בתוכם לבש בדים וקסת הספר במתניו ויבאו ויעמדו אצל מזבח הנחשת (Ⅴ)

And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;
- La gloire du Dieu d'Israël s'éleva du chérubin sur lequel elle était, et se dirigea vers le seuil de la maison; et il appela l'homme vêtu de lin, et portant une écritoire à la ceinture. (Ⅱ) - καὶ δόξα θεου̃ του̃ Ισραηλ ἀνέβη ἀπὸ τω̃ν χερουβιν ἡ οὐ̃σα ἐπ' αὐτω̃ν εἰς τὸ αἴθριον του̃ οἴκου καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν ἄνδρα τὸν ἐνδεδυκότα τὸν ποδήρη ὃς εἰ̃χεν ἐπὶ τη̃ς ὀσφύος αὐτου̃ τὴν ζώνην (Ⅲ) - Et gloria Domini Israël assumpta est de cherub, quæ erat super eum ad limen domus : et vocavit virum qui indutus erat lineis, et atramentarium scriptoris habebat in lumbis suis : (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃9 וכבוד אלהי ישראל נעלה מעל הכרוב אשר היה עליו אל מפתן הבית ויקרא אל האיש הלבש הבדים אשר קסת הספר במתניו ס (Ⅴ)

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
- L'Éternel lui dit: Passe au milieu de la ville, au milieu de Jérusalem, et fais une marque sur le front des hommes qui soupirent et qui gémissent à cause de toutes les abominations qui s'y commettent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτόν δίελθε μέσην τὴν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ δὸς τὸ σημει̃ον ἐπὶ τὰ μέτωπα τω̃ν ἀνδρω̃ν τω̃ν καταστεναζόντων καὶ τω̃ν κατωδυνωμένων ἐπὶ πάσαις ται̃ς ἀνομίαις ται̃ς γινομέναις ἐν μέσω̨ αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - et dixit Dominus ad eum : Transi per mediam civitatem, in medio Jerusalem, et signa thau super frontes virorum gementium et dolentium super cunctis abominationibus quæ fiunt in medio ejus. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃9 ויאמר יהוה *אלו **אליו עבר בתוך העיר בתוך ירושלם והתוית תו על מצחות האנשים הנאנחים והנאנקים על כל התועבות הנעשות בתוכה (Ⅴ)

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
- Et, à mes oreilles, il dit aux autres: Passez après lui dans la ville, et frappez; que votre oeil soit sans pitié, et n'ayez point de miséricorde! (Ⅱ) - καὶ τούτοις εἰ̃πεν ἀκούοντός μου πορεύεσθε ὀπίσω αὐτου̃ εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ κόπτετε καὶ μὴ φείδεσθε τοι̃ς ὀφθαλμοι̃ς ὑμω̃ν καὶ μὴ ἐλεήσητε (Ⅲ) - Et illis dixit, audiente me : Transite per civitatem sequentes eum, et percutite : non parcat oculus vester, neque misereamini : (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃9 ולאלה אמר באזני עברו בעיר אחריו והכו *על **אל תחס *עיניכם **עינכם ואל תחמלו (Ⅴ)

Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
- Tuez, détruisez les vieillards, les jeunes hommes, les vierges, les enfants et les femmes; mais n'approchez pas de quiconque aura sur lui la marque; et commencez par mon sanctuaire! Ils commencèrent par les anciens qui étaient devant la maison. (Ⅱ) - πρεσβύτερον καὶ νεανίσκον καὶ παρθένον καὶ νήπια καὶ γυναι̃κας ἀποκτείνατε εἰς ἐξάλειψιν ἐπὶ δὲ πάντας ἐφ' οὕς ἐστιν τὸ σημει̃ον μὴ ἐγγίσητε καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν ἁγίων μου ἄρξασθε καὶ ἤρξαντο ἀπὸ τω̃ν ἀνδρω̃ν τω̃ν πρεσβυτέρων οἳ ἠ̃σαν ἔσω ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ (Ⅲ) - senem, adolescentulum et virginem, parvulum et mulieres interficite usque ad internecionem : omnem autem super quem videritis thau, ne occidatis : et a sanctuario meo incipite. Cœperunt ergo a viris senioribus, qui erant ante faciem domus. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃9 זקן בחור ובתולה וטף ונשים תהרגו למשחית ועל כל איש אשר עליו התו אל תגשו וממקדשי תחלו ויחלו באנשים הזקנים אשר לפני הבית (Ⅴ)

And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
- Il leur dit: Souillez la maison, et remplissez de morts les parvis!... Sortez!... Ils sortirent, et ils frappèrent dans la ville. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτούς μιάνατε τὸν οἰ̃κον καὶ πλήσατε τὰς ὁδοὺς νεκρω̃ν ἐκπορευόμενοι καὶ κόπτετε (Ⅲ) - Et dixit ad eos : Contaminate domum, et implete atria interfectis ; egredimini. Et egressi sunt, et percutiebant eos qui erant in civitate. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃9 ויאמר אליהם טמאו את הבית ומלאו את החצרות חללים צאו ויצאו והכו בעיר (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
- Comme ils frappaient, et que je restais encore, je tombai sur ma face, et je m'écriai: Ah! Seigneur Éternel, détruiras-tu tout ce qui reste d'Israël, en répandant ta fureur sur Jérusalem? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ κόπτειν αὐτοὺς καὶ πίπτω ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου καὶ ἀνεβόησα καὶ εἰ̃πα οἴμμοι κύριε ἐξαλείφεις σὺ τοὺς καταλοίπους του̃ Ισραηλ ἐν τω̨̃ ἐκχέαι σε τὸν θυμόν σου ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ) - Et cæde completa, remansi ego, ruique super faciem meam, et clamans aio : Heu ! heu ! heu ! Domine Deus : ergone disperdes omnes reliquias Israël, effundens furorem tuum super Jerusalem ? (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃9 ויהי כהכותם ונאשאר אני ואפלה על פני ואזעק ואמר אהה אדני יהוה המשחית אתה את כל שארית ישראל בשפכך את חמתך על ירושלם (Ⅴ)

Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
- Il me répondit: L'iniquité de la maison d'Israël et de Juda est grande, excessive; le pays est rempli de meurtres, la ville est pleine d'injustice, car ils disent: L'Éternel a abandonné le pays, l'Éternel ne voit rien. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρός με ἀδικία του̃ οἴκου Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα μεμεγάλυνται σφόδρα σφόδρα ὅτι ἐπλήσθη ἡ γη̃ λαω̃ν πολλω̃ν καὶ ἡ πόλις ἐπλήσθη ἀδικίας καὶ ἀκαθαρσίας ὅτι εἰ̃παν ἐγκαταλέλοιπεν κύριος τὴν γη̃ν οὐκ ἐφορα̨̃ ὁ κύριος (Ⅲ) - Et dixit ad me : Iniquitas domus Israël et Juda magna est nimis valde, et repleta est terra sanguinibus, et civitas repleta est aversione : dixerunt enim : Dereliquit Dominus terram, et Dominus non videt. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃9 ויאמר אלי עון בית ישראל ויהודה גדול במאד מאד ותמלא הארץ דמים והעיר מלאה מטה כי אמרו עזב יהוה את הארץ ואין יהוה ראה (Ⅴ)

And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
- Moi aussi, je serai sans pitié, et je n'aurai point de miséricorde; je ferai retomber leurs oeuvres sur leur tête. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐ φείσεταί μου ὁ ὀφθαλμός οὐδὲ μὴ ἐλεήσω τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτω̃ν εἰς κεφαλὰς αὐτω̃ν δέδωκα (Ⅲ) - Igitur et meus non parcet oculus, neque miserebor : viam eorum super caput eorum reddam. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃9 וגם אני לא תחוס עיני ולא אחמל דרכם בראשם נתתי (Ⅴ)

And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
- Et voici, l'homme vêtu de lin, et portant une écritoire à la ceinture, rendit cette réponse: J'ai fait ce que tu m'as ordonné. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ ἐνδεδυκὼς τὸν ποδήρη καὶ ἐζωσμένος τη̨̃ ζώνη̨ τὴν ὀσφὺν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπεκρίνατο λέγων πεποίηκα καθὼς ἐνετείλω μοι (Ⅲ) - Et ecce vir qui erat indutus lineis, qui habebat atramentarium in dorso suo, respondit verbum, dicens : Feci sicut præcepisti mihi. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃9 והנה האיש לבש הבדים אשר הקסת במתניו משיב דבר לאמר עשיתי *כאשר **ככל[v] **אשר צויתני ס (Ⅴ)
