Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
- Éphraïm se repaît de vent, et poursuit le vent d'orient; Chaque jour il multiplie le mensonge et la violence; Il fait alliance avec l'Assyrie, Et on porte de l'huile en Égypte. (Ⅱ) - ὁ δὲ Εφραιμ πονηρὸν πνευ̃μα ἐδίωξεν καύσωνα ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν κενὰ καὶ μάταια ἐπλήθυνεν καὶ διαθήκην μετὰ 'Ασσυρίων διέθετο καὶ ἔλαιον εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἐνεπορεύετο (Ⅲ) - Ephraim pascit ventum,/ et sequitur æstum ;/ tota die mendacium et vastitatem multiplicat :/ et fœdus cum Assyriis iniit,/ et oleum in Ægyptum ferebat./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃12 אפרים רעה רוח ורדף קדים כל היום כזב ושד ירבה וברית עם אשור יכרתו ושמן למצרים יובל (Ⅴ)

The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
- L'Éternel est aussi en contestation avec Juda, Et il punira Jacob pour sa conduite, Il lui rendra selon ses oeuvres. (Ⅱ) - καὶ κρίσις τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ πρὸς Ιουδαν του̃ ἐκδικη̃σαι τὸν Ιακωβ κατὰ τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτου̃ καὶ κατὰ τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα αὐτου̃ ἀνταποδώσει αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Judicium ergo Domini cum Juda,/ et visitatio super Jacob :/ juxta vias ejus, et juxta adinventiones ejus reddet ei./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃12 וריב ליהוה עם יהודה ולפקד על יעקב כדרכיו כמעלליו ישיב לו (Ⅴ)

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
- Dans le sein maternel Jacob saisit son frère par le talon, Et dans sa vigueur, il lutta avec Dieu. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τη̨̃ κοιλία̨ ἐπτέρνισεν τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐν κόποις αὐτου̃ ἐνίσχυσεν πρὸς θεὸν (Ⅲ) - In utero supplantavit fratrem suum,/ et in fortitudine sua directus est cum angelo./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃12 בבטן עקב את אחיו ובאונו שרה את אלהים (Ⅴ)

Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us;
- Il lutta avec l'ange, et il fut vainqueur, Il pleura, et lui adressa des supplications. Jacob l'avait trouvé à Béthel, Et c'est là que Dieu nous a parlé. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐνίσχυσεν μετὰ ἀγγέλου καὶ ἠδυνάσθη ἔκλαυσαν καὶ ἐδεήθησάν μου ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ Ων εὕροσάν με καὶ ἐκει̃ ἐλαλήθη πρὸς αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - Et invaluit ad angelum, et confortatus est ;/ flevit, et rogavit eum./ In Bethel invenit eum,/ et ibi locutus est nobiscum./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃12 וישר אל מלאך ויכל בכה ויתחנן לו בית אל ימצאנו ושם ידבר עמנו (Ⅴ)

Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
- L'Éternel est le Dieu des armées; Son nom est l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - ὁ δὲ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ ἔσται μνημόσυνον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et Dominus Deus exercituum,/ Dominus memoriale ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃12 ויהוה אלהי הצבאות יהוה זכרו (Ⅴ)

Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on thy God continually.
- Et toi, reviens à ton Dieu, Garde la piété et la justice, Et espère toujours en ton Dieu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ σὺ ἐν θεω̨̃ σου ἐπιστρέψεις ἔλεον καὶ κρίμα φυλάσσου καὶ ἔγγιζε πρὸς τὸν θεόν σου διὰ παντός (Ⅲ) - Et tu ad Deum tuum converteris ;/ misericordiam et judicium custodi,/ et spera in Deo tuo semper./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃12 ואתה באלהיך תשוב חסד ומשפט שמר וקוה אל אלהיך תמיד (Ⅴ)

He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
- Éphraïm est un marchand qui a dans sa main des balances fausses, Il aime à tromper. (Ⅱ) - Χανααν ἐν χειρὶ αὐτου̃ ζυγὸς ἀδικίας καταδυναστεύειν ἠγάπησε (Ⅲ) - Chanaan, in manu ejus statera dolosa,/ calumniam dilexit./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃12 כנען בידו מאזני מרמה לעשק אהב (Ⅴ)

And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
- Et Éphraïm dit: A la vérité, je me suis enrichi, J'ai acquis de la fortune; Mais c'est entièrement le produit de mon travail; On ne trouvera chez moi aucune iniquité, rien qui soit un crime. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Εφραιμ πλὴν πεπλούτηκα εὕρηκα ἀναψυχὴν ἐμαυτω̨̃ πάντες οἱ πόνοι αὐτου̃ οὐχ εὑρεθήσονται αὐτω̨̃ δι' ἀδικίας ἃς ἥμαρτεν (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Ephraim : Verumtamen dives effectus sum ;/ inveni idolum mihi :/ omnes labores mei non invenient mihi iniquitatem quam peccavi./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃12 ויאמר אפרים אך עשרתי מצאתי און לי כל יגיעי לא ימצאו לי עון אשר חטא (Ⅴ)

And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
- Et moi, je suis l'Éternel, ton Dieu, dès le pays d'Égypte; Je te ferai encore habiter sous des tentes, comme aux jours de fêtes. (Ⅱ) - ἐγὼ δὲ κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἀνήγαγόν σε ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου ἔτι κατοικιω̃ σε ἐν σκηναι̃ς καθὼς ἡμέρα̨ ἑορτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Et ego Dominus Deus tuus ex terra Ægypti :/ adhuc sedere te faciam in tabernaculis, sicut in diebus festivitatis./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃12 ואנכי יהוה אלהיך מארץ מצרים עד אושיבך באהלים כימי מועד (Ⅴ)

I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
- J'ai parlé aux prophètes, J'ai multiplié les visions, Et par les prophètes j'ai proposé des paraboles. (Ⅱ) - καὶ λαλήσω πρὸς προφήτας καὶ ἐγὼ ὁράσεις ἐπλήθυνα καὶ ἐν χερσὶν προφητω̃ν ὡμοιώθην (Ⅲ) - Et locutus sum super prophetas,/ et ego visionem multiplicavi,/ et in manu prophetarum assimilatus sum./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃12 ודברתי על הנביאים ואנכי חזון הרביתי וביד הנביאים אדמה (Ⅴ)

Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
- Si Galaad n'est que néant, ils seront certainement anéantis. Ils sacrifient des boeufs dans Guilgal: Aussi leurs autels seront comme des monceaux de pierres Sur les sillons des champs. (Ⅱ) - εἰ μὴ Γαλααδ ἔστιν ἄρα ψευδει̃ς ἠ̃σαν ἐν Γαλγαλ ἄρχοντες θυσιάζοντες καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια αὐτω̃ν ὡς χελω̃ναι ἐπὶ χέρσον ἀγρου̃ (Ⅲ) - Si Galaad idolum, ergo frustra erant in Galgal bobus immolantes ;/ nam et altaria eorum quasi acervi super sulcos agri./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃12 אם גלעד און אך שוא היו בגלגל שורים זבחו גם מזבחותם כגלים על תלמי שדי (Ⅴ)

And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
- Jacob s'enfuit au pays d'Aram, Israël servit pour une femme, Et pour une femme il garda les troupeaux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνεχώρησεν Ιακωβ εἰς πεδίον Συρίας καὶ ἐδούλευσεν Ισραηλ ἐν γυναικὶ καὶ ἐν γυναικὶ ἐφυλάξατο (Ⅲ) - Fugit Jacob in regionem Syriæ,/ et servivit Israël in uxorem,/ et in uxorem servavit./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃12 ויברח יעקב שדה ארם ויעבד ישראל באשה ובאשה שמר (Ⅴ)

And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
- Par un prophète l'Éternel fit monter Israël hors d'Égypte, Et par un prophète Israël fut gardé. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐν προφήτη̨ ἀνήγαγεν κύριος τὸν Ισραηλ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐν προφήτη̨ διεφυλάχθη (Ⅲ) - In propheta autem eduxit Dominus Israël de Ægypto,/ et in propheta servatus est./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃12 ובנביא העלה יהוה את ישראל ממצרים ובנביא נשמר (Ⅴ)

Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his LORD return unto him.
- Éphraïm a irrité l'Éternel amèrement: Son Seigneur rejettera sur lui le sang qu'il a répandu, Il fera retomber sur lui la honte qui lui appartient. (Ⅱ) - ἐθύμωσεν Εφραιμ καὶ παρώργισεν καὶ τὸ αἱ̃μα αὐτου̃ ἐπ' αὐτὸν ἐκχυθήσεται καὶ τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν αὐτου̃ ἀνταποδώσει αὐτω̨̃ κύριος (Ⅲ) - Ad iracundiam me provocavit Ephraim in amaritudinibus suis :/ et sanguis ejus super eum veniet,/ et opprobrium ejus restituet ei Dominus suus.] (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃12 הכעיס אפרים תמרורים ודמיו עליו יטוש וחרפתו ישיב לו אדניו (Ⅴ)
