9. 1  
Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.
- Israël, ne te livre pas à la joie, à l'allégresse, comme les peuples, De ce que tu t'es prostitué en abandonnant l'Éternel, De ce que tu as aimé un salaire impur dans toutes les aires à blé! (Ⅱ)
- μὴ χαι̃ρε Ισραηλ μηδὲ εὐφραίνου καθὼς οἱ λαοί διότι ἐπόρνευσας ἀπὸ του̃ θεου̃ σου ἠγάπησας δόματα ἐπὶ πάντα ἅλωνα σίτου (Ⅲ)
- Noli lætari, Israël ;/ noli exsultare sicut populi :/ quia fornicatus es a Deo tuo ;/ dilexisti mercedem super omnes areas tritici./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 1  ׃9   אל תשמח ישראל אל גיל כעמים כי זנית מעל אלהיך אהבת אתנן על כל גרנות דגן ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 2  
The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.
- L'aire et le pressoir ne les nourriront pas, Et le moût leur fera défaut. (Ⅱ)
- ἅλων καὶ ληνὸς οὐκ ἔγνω αὐτούς καὶ ὁ οἰ̃νος ἐψεύσατο αὐτούς (Ⅲ)
- Area et torcular non pascet eos,/ et vinum mentietur eis :/ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 2  ׃9   גרן ויקב לא ירעם ותירוש יכחש בה ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 3  
They shall not dwell in the LORD's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.
- Ils ne resteront pas dans le pays de l'Éternel; Éphraïm retournera en Égypte, Et ils mangeront en Assyrie des aliments impurs. (Ⅱ)
- οὐ κατώ̨κησαν ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ του̃ κυρίου κατώ̨κησεν Εφραιμ εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ ἐν 'Ασσυρίοις ἀκάθαρτα φάγονται (Ⅲ)
- non habitabunt in terra Domini./ Reversus est Ephraim in Ægyptum,/ et in Assyriis pollutum comedit./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 3  ׃9   לא ישבו בארץ יהוה ושב אפרים מצרים ובאשור טמא יאכלו ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 4  
They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
- Ils ne feront pas à l'Éternel des libations de vin: Elles ne lui seraient point agréables. Leurs sacrifices seront pour eux comme un pain de deuil; Tous ceux qui en mangeront se rendront impurs; Car leur pain ne sera que pour eux, Il n'entrera point dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)
- οὐκ ἔσπεισαν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ οἰ̃νον καὶ οὐχ ἥδυναν αὐτω̨̃ αἱ θυσίαι αὐτω̃ν ὡς ἄρτος πένθους αὐτοι̃ς πάντες οἱ ἔσθοντες αὐτὰ μιανθήσονται διότι οἱ ἄρτοι αὐτω̃ν ται̃ς ψυχαι̃ς αὐτω̃ν οὐκ εἰσελεύσονται εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου (Ⅲ)
- Non libabunt Domino vinum,/ et non placebunt ei./ Sacrificia eorum quasi panis lugentium ;/ omnes qui comedent eum, contaminabuntur :/ quia panis eorum animæ ipsorum :/ non intrabit in domum Domini./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 4  ׃9   לא יסכו ליהוה יין ולא יערבו לו זבחיהם כלחם אונים להם כל אכליו יטמאו‪[U]‬ כי לחמם לנפשם לא יבוא בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 5  
What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
- Que ferez-vous aux jours solennels, Aux jours des fêtes de l'Éternel? (Ⅱ)
- τί ποιήσετε ἐν ἡμέρα̨ πανηγύρεως καὶ ἐν ἡμέρα̨ ἑορτη̃ς του̃ κυρίου (Ⅲ)
- Quid facietis in die solemni,/ in die festivitatis Domini ?/ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 5  ׃9   מה תעשו ליום מועד וליום חג יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 6  
For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
- Car voici, ils partent à cause de la dévastation; L'Égypte les recueillera, Moph leur donnera des sépulcres; Ce qu'ils ont de précieux, leur argent, sera la proie des ronces, Et les épines croîtront dans leurs tentes. (Ⅱ)
- διὰ του̃το ἰδοὺ πορεύσονται ἐκ ταλαιπωρίας Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐκδέξεται αὐτοὺς Μέμφις καὶ θάψει αὐτοὺς Μαχμας τὸ ἀργύριον αὐτω̃ν ὄλεθρος κληρονομήσει ἄκανθαι ἐν τοι̃ς σκηνώμασιν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)
- Ecce enim profecti sunt a vastitate :/ Ægyptus congregabit eos ;/ Memphis sepeliet eos :/ desiderabile argentum eorum urtica hæreditabit,/ lappa in tabernaculis eorum./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 6  ׃9   כי הנה הלכו משד מצרים תקבצם מף תקברם מחמד לכספם קמוש יירשם חוח באהליהם ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 7  
The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
- Ils arrivent, les jours du châtiment, Ils arrivent, les jours de la rétribution: Israël va l'éprouver! Le prophète est fou, l'homme inspiré a le délire, A cause de la grandeur de tes iniquités et de tes rébellions. (Ⅱ)
- ἥκασιν αἱ ἡμέραι τη̃ς ἐκδικήσεως ἥκασιν αἱ ἡμέραι τη̃ς ἀνταποδόσεώς σου καὶ κακωθήσεται Ισραηλ ὥσπερ ὁ προφήτης ὁ παρεξεστηκώς ἄνθρωπος ὁ πνευματοφόρος ὑπὸ του̃ πλήθους τω̃ν ἀδικιω̃ν σου ἐπληθύνθη μανία σου (Ⅲ)
- Venerunt dies visitationis,/ venerunt dies retributionis./ Scitote, Israël,/ stultum prophetam,/ insanum virum spiritualem,/ propter multitudinem iniquitatis tuæ,/ et multitudinem amentiæ./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 7  ׃9   באו ימי הפקדה באו ימי השלם‪[U]‬ ידעו ישראל אויל הנביא משגע איש הרוח על רב עונך ורבה משטמה ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 8  
The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.
- Éphraïm est une sentinelle contre mon Dieu; Le prophète... un filet d'oiseleur est sur toutes ses voies, Un ennemi dans la maison de son Dieu. (Ⅱ)
- σκοπὸς Εφραιμ μετὰ θεου̃ προφήτης παγὶς σκολιὰ ἐπὶ πάσας τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτου̃ μανίαν ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου κατέπηξαν (Ⅲ)
- Speculator Ephraim cum Deo meo,/ propheta laqueus ruinæ factus est super omnes vias ejus ;/ insania in domo Dei ejus./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 8  ׃9   צפה אפרים עם אלהי נביא פח יקוש על כל דרכיו משטמה בבית אלהיו ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 9  
They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
- Ils sont plongés dans la corruption, comme aux jours de Guibea; L'Éternel se souviendra de leur iniquité, Il punira leurs péchés. (Ⅱ)
- ἐφθάρησαν κατὰ τὰς ἡμέρας του̃ βουνου̃ μνησθήσεται ἀδικίας αὐτου̃ ἐκδικήσει ἁμαρτίας αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)
- Profunde peccaverunt, sicut in diebus Gabaa./ Recordabitur iniquitatis eorum,/ et visitabit peccata eorum./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 9  ׃9   העמיקו שחתו כימי הגבעה יזכור עונם יפקוד חטאותם ס‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 10  
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.
- J'ai trouvé Israël comme des raisins dans le désert, J'ai vu vos pères comme les premiers fruits d'un figuier; Mais ils sont allés vers Baal Peor, Ils se sont consacrés à l'infâme idole, Et ils sont devenus abominables comme l'objet de leur amour. (Ⅱ)
- ὡς σταφυλὴν ἐν ἐρήμω̨ εὑ̃ρον τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ὡς σκοπὸν ἐν συκη̨̃ πρόιμον εἰ̃δον πατέρας αὐτω̃ν αὐτοὶ εἰση̃λθον πρὸς τὸν Βεελφεγωρ καὶ ἀπηλλοτριώθησαν εἰς αἰσχύνην καὶ ἐγένοντο οἱ ἠγαπημένοι ὡς οἱ ἐβδελυγμένοι (Ⅲ)
- Quasi uvas in deserto inveni Israël,/ quasi prima poma ficulneæ in cacumine ejus vidi patres eorum :/ ipsi autem intraverunt ad Beelphegor,/ et abalienati sunt in confusionem,/ et facti sunt abominabiles sicut ea quæ dilexerunt./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 10 ׃9   כענבים במדבר מצאתי ישראל כבכורה בתאנה בראשיתה ראיתי אבותיכם המה באו בעל פעור וינזרו לבשת ויהיו שקוצים כאהבם ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 11  
As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
- La gloire d'Éphraïm s'envolera comme un oiseau: Plus de naissance, plus de grossesse, plus de conception. (Ⅱ)
- Εφραιμ ὡς ὄρνεον ἐξεπετάσθη αἱ δόξαι αὐτω̃ν ἐκ τόκων καὶ ὠδίνων καὶ συλλήμψεων (Ⅲ)
- Ephraim quasi avis avolavit ;/ gloria eorum a partu, et ab utero, et a conceptu./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 11 ׃9   אפרים כעוף יתעופף כבודם מלדה ומבטן ומהריון ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 12  
Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
- S'ils élèvent leurs enfants, Je les en priverai avant qu'ils soient des hommes; Et malheur à eux, quand je les abandonnerai! (Ⅱ)
- διότι καὶ ἐὰν ἐκθρέψωσιν τὰ τέκνα αὐτω̃ν ἀτεκνωθήσονται ἐξ ἀνθρώπων διότι καὶ οὐαὶ αὐτοι̃ς ἐστιν σάρξ μου ἐξ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)
- Quod etsi enutrierint filios suos,/ absque liberis eos faciam in hominibus ;/ sed et væ eis cum recessero ab eis !/ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 12 ׃9   כי אם יגדלו את בניהם ושכלתים מאדם כי גם אוי להם בשורי מהם ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 13  
Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
- Éphraïm, aussi loin que portent mes regards du côté de Tyr, Est planté dans un lieu agréable; Mais Éphraïm mènera ses enfants vers celui qui les tuera. (Ⅱ)
- Εφραιμ ὃν τρόπον εἰ̃δον εἰς θήραν παρέστησαν τὰ τέκνα αὐτω̃ν καὶ Εφραιμ του̃ ἐξαγαγει̃ν εἰς ἀποκέντησιν τὰ τέκνα αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)
- Ephraim, ut vidi, Tyrus erat fundata in pulchritudine ;/ et Ephraim educet ad interfectorem filios suos./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 13 ׃9   אפרים כאשר ראיתי לצור שתולה בנוה ואפרים להוציא אל הרג בניו ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 14  
Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
- Donne-leur, ô Éternel!... Que leur donneras-tu?... Donne-leur un sein qui avorte et des mamelles desséchées! (Ⅱ)
- δὸς αὐτοι̃ς κύριε τί δώσεις αὐτοι̃ς δὸς αὐτοι̃ς μήτραν ἀτεκνου̃σαν καὶ μαστοὺς ξηρούς (Ⅲ)
- Da eis, Domine. Quid dabis eis ?/ da eis vulvam sine liberis, et ubera arentia./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 14 ׃9   תן להם יהוה מה תתן תן להם רחם משכיל ושדים צמקים ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 15  
All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.
- Toute leur méchanceté se montre à Guilgal; C'est là que je les ai pris en aversion. A cause de la malice de leurs oeuvres, Je les chasserai de ma maison. Je ne les aimerai plus; Tous leurs chefs sont des rebelles. (Ⅱ)
- πα̃σαι αἱ κακίαι αὐτω̃ν εἰς Γαλγαλ ὅτι ἐκει̃ αὐτοὺς ἐμίσησα διὰ τὰς κακίας τω̃ν ἐπιτηδευμάτων αὐτω̃ν ἐκ του̃ οἴκου μου ἐκβαλω̃ αὐτούς οὐ μὴ προσθήσω του̃ ἀγαπη̃σαι αὐτούς πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτω̃ν ἀπειθου̃ντες (Ⅲ)
- Omnes nequitiæ eorum in Galgal,/ quia ibi exosos habui eos./ Propter malitiam adinventionum eorum,/ de domo mea ejiciam eos ;/ non addam ut diligam eos :/ omnes principes eorum recedentes./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 15 ׃9   כל רעתם בגלגל כי שם שנאתים על רע מעלליהם מביתי אגרשם לא אוסף אהבתם כל שריהם סררים ‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 16  
Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.
- Éphraïm est frappé, sa racine est devenue sèche; Ils ne porteront plus de fruit; Et s'ils ont des enfants, Je ferai périr les objets de leur tendresse. (Ⅱ)
- ἐπόνεσεν Εφραιμ τὰς ῥίζας αὐτου̃ ἐξηράνθη καρπὸν οὐκέτι μὴ ἐνέγκη̨ διότι καὶ ἐὰν γεννήσωσιν ἀποκτενω̃ τὰ ἐπιθυμήματα κοιλίας αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)
- Percussus est Ephraim ;/ radix eorum exsiccata est :/ fructum nequaquam facient,/ quod etsi genuerint,/ interficiam amantissima uteri eorum./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 16 ׃9   הכה אפרים שרשם יבש פרי *בלי **בל יעשון גם כי ילדון והמתי מחמדי בטנם ס‬ (Ⅴ)
9. 17  
My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
- Mon Dieu les rejettera, parce qu'ils ne l'ont pas écouté, Et ils seront errants parmi les nations. (Ⅱ)
- ἀπώσεται αὐτοὺς ὁ θεός ὅτι οὐκ εἰσήκουσαν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔσονται πλανη̃ται ἐν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν (Ⅲ)
- Abjiciet eos Deus meus, quia non audierunt eum,/ et erunt vagi in nationibus.] (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 17 ׃9   ימאסם אלהי כי לא שמעו לו ויהיו נדדים בגוים ס‬ (Ⅴ)
