La parole de l'Éternel qui fut adressée à Joël, fils de Pethuel.
- The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel. (Ⅱ)
- λόγος κυρίου ὃς ἐγενήθη πρὸς Ιωηλ τὸν του̃ Βαθουηλ (Ⅲ)
- Verbum Domini, quod factum est ad Joël, filium Phatuel. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 1 ׃1 דבר יהוה אשר היה אל יואל בן פתואל ‬ (Ⅴ)

Écoutez ceci, vieillards! Prêtez l'oreille, vous tous, habitants du pays! Rien de pareil est-il arrivé de votre temps, Ou du temps de vos pères?
- Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers? (Ⅱ)
- ἀκούσατε δὴ ταυ̃τα οἱ πρεσβύτεροι καὶ ἐνωτίσασθε πάντες οἱ κατοικου̃ντες τὴν γη̃ν εἰ γέγονεν τοιαυ̃τα ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ὑμω̃ν ἢ ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις τω̃ν πατέρων ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)
- Audite hoc, senes,/ et auribus percipite, omnes habitatores terræ :/ si factum est istud in diebus vestris,/ aut in diebus patrum vestrorum ?/ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 2 ׃1 שמעו זאת הזקנים והאזינו כל יושבי הארץ ההיתה זאת בימיכם ואם בימי אבתיכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

Racontez-le à vos enfants, Et que vos enfants le racontent à leurs enfants, Et leurs enfants à la génération qui suivra!
- Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. (Ⅱ)
- ὑπὲρ αὐτω̃ν τοι̃ς τέκνοις ὑμω̃ν διηγήσασθε καὶ τὰ τέκνα ὑμω̃ν τοι̃ς τέκνοις αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτω̃ν εἰς γενεὰν ἑτέραν (Ⅲ)
- Super hoc filiis vestris narrate,/ et filii vestri filiis suis,/ et filii eorum generationi alteræ./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 3 ׃1 עליה לבניכם ספרו ובניכם לבניהם ובניהם לדור אחר ‬ (Ⅴ)

Ce qu'a laissé le gazam, la sauterelle l'a dévoré; Ce qu'a laissé la sauterelle, le jélek l'a dévoré; Ce qu'a laissé le jélek, le hasil l'a dévoré.
- That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. (Ⅱ)
- τὰ κατάλοιπα τη̃ς κάμπης κατέφαγεν ἡ ἀκρίς καὶ τὰ κατάλοιπα τη̃ς ἀκρίδος κατέφαγεν ὁ βρου̃χος καὶ τὰ κατάλοιπα του̃ βρούχου κατέφαγεν ἡ ἐρυσίβη (Ⅲ)
- Residuum erucæ comedit locusta,/ et residuum locustæ comedit bruchus,/ et residuum bruchi comedit rubigo./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 4 ׃1 יתר הגזם אכל הארבה ויתר הארבה אכל הילק ויתר הילק אכל החסיל ‬ (Ⅴ)

Réveillez-vous, ivrognes, et pleurez! Vous tous, buveurs de vin, gémissez, Parce que le moût vous est enlevé de la bouche!
- Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth. (Ⅱ)
- ἐκνήψατε οἱ μεθύοντες ἐξ οἴνου αὐτω̃ν καὶ κλαύσατε θρηνήσατε πάντες οἱ πίνοντες οἰ̃νον εἰς μέθην ὅτι ἐξη̃ρται ἐκ στόματος ὑμω̃ν εὐφροσύνη καὶ χαρά (Ⅲ)
- Expergiscimini, ebrii,/ et flete et ululate, omnes qui bibitis vinum in dulcedine,/ quoniam periit ab ore vestro./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 5 ׃1 הקיצו שכורים ובכו והיללו כל שתי יין על עסיס כי נכרת מפיכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

Car un peuple est venu fondre sur mon pays, Puissant et innombrable. Il a les dents d'un lion, Les mâchoires d'une lionne.
- For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion. (Ⅱ)
- ὅτι ἔθνος ἀνέβη ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν μου ἰσχυρὸν καὶ ἀναρίθμητον οἱ ὀδόντες αὐτου̃ ὀδόντες λέοντος καὶ αἱ μύλαι αὐτου̃ σκύμνου (Ⅲ)
- Gens enim ascendit super terram meam,/ fortis et innumerabilis :/ dentes ejus ut dentes leonis,/ et molares ejus ut catuli leonis./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 6 ׃1 כי גוי עלה על ארצי עצום ואין מספר שניו שני אריה ומתלעות לביא לו ‬ (Ⅴ)

Il a dévasté ma vigne; Il a mis en morceaux mon figuier, Il l'a dépouillé, abattu; Les rameaux de la vigne ont blanchi.
- He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white. (Ⅱ)
- ἔθετο τὴν ἄμπελόν μου εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ τὰς συκα̃ς μου εἰς συγκλασμόν ἐρευνω̃ν ἐξηρεύνησεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἔρριψεν ἐλεύκανεν κλήματα αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)
- Posuit vineam meam in desertum,/ et ficum meam decorticavit ;/ nudans spoliavit eam, et projecit :/ albi facti sunt rami ejus./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 7 ׃1 שם גפני לשמה ותאנתי לקצפה חשף חשפה והשליך הלבינו שריגיה ‬ (Ⅴ)

Lamente-toi, comme la vierge qui se revêt d'un sac Pour pleurer l'ami de sa jeunesse!
- Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth. (Ⅱ)
- θρήνησον πρός με ὑπὲρ νύμφην περιεζωσμένην σάκκον ἐπὶ τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτη̃ς τὸν παρθενικόν (Ⅲ)
- Plange quasi virgo accincta sacco super virum pubertatis suæ./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 8 ׃1 אלי כבתולה חגרת שק על בעל נעוריה ‬ (Ⅴ)

Offrandes et libations disparaissent de la maison de l'Éternel; Les sacrificateurs, serviteurs de l'Éternel, sont dans le deuil.
- The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD's ministers, mourn. (Ⅱ)
- ἐξη̃ρται θυσία καὶ σπονδὴ ἐξ οἴκου κυρίου πενθει̃τε οἱ ἱερει̃ς οἱ λειτουργου̃ντες θυσιαστηρίω̨ (Ⅲ)
- Periit sacrificium et libatio de domo Domini ;/ luxerunt sacerdotes, ministri Domini./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 9 ׃1 הכרת מנחה ונסך מבית יהוה אבלו הכהנים משרתי יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

Les champs sont ravagés, La terre est attristée; Car les blés sont détruits, Le moût est tari, l'huile est desséchée.
- The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth. (Ⅱ)
- ὅτι τεταλαιπώρηκεν τὰ πεδία πενθείτω ἡ γη̃ ὅτι τεταλαιπώρηκεν σι̃τος ἐξηράνθη οἰ̃νος ὠλιγώθη ἔλαιον (Ⅲ)
- Depopulata est regio,/ luxit humus,/ quoniam devastatum est triticum,/ confusum est vinum,/ elanguit oleum./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 10 ׃1 שדד שדה אבלה אדמה כי שדד דגן הוביש תירוש אמלל יצהר ‬ (Ⅴ)

Les laboureurs sont consternés, les vignerons gémissent, A cause du froment et de l'orge, Parce que la moisson des champs est perdue.
- Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished. (Ⅱ)
- ἐξηράνθησαν οἱ γεωργοί θρηνει̃τε κτήματα ὑπὲρ πυρου̃ καὶ κριθη̃ς ὅτι ἀπόλωλεν τρυγητὸς ἐξ ἀγρου̃ (Ⅲ)
- Confusi sunt agricolæ,/ ululaverunt vinitores/ super frumento et hordeo,/ quia periit messis agri./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 11 ׃1 הבישו אכרים הילילו כרמים על חטה ועל שערה כי אבד קציר שדה ‬ (Ⅴ)

La vigne est confuse, Le figuier languissant; Le grenadier, le palmier, le pommier, Tous les arbres des champs sont flétris... La joie a cessé parmi les fils de l'homme!
- The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men. (Ⅱ)
- ἡ ἄμπελος ἐξηράνθη καὶ αἱ συκαι̃ ὠλιγώθησαν ῥόα καὶ φοι̃νιξ καὶ μη̃λον καὶ πάντα τὰ ξύλα του̃ ἀγρου̃ ἐξηράνθησαν ὅτι ἤ̨σχυναν χαρὰν οἱ υἱοὶ τω̃ν ἀνθρώπων (Ⅲ)
- Vinea confusa est,/ et ficus elanguit ;/ malogranatum, et palma, et malum,/ et omnia ligna agri aruerunt,/ quia confusum est gaudium a filiis hominum./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 12 ׃1 הגפן הובישה והתאנה אמללה רמון גם תמר ותפוח כל עצי השדה יבשו כי הביש ששון מן בני אדם ס‬ (Ⅴ)

Sacrificateurs, ceignez-vous et pleurez! Lamentez-vous, serviteurs de l'autel! Venez, passez la nuit revêtus de sacs, Serviteurs de mon Dieu! Car offrandes et libations ont disparu de la maison de votre Dieu.
- Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God. (Ⅱ)
- περιζώσασθε καὶ κόπτεσθε οἱ ἱερει̃ς θρηνει̃τε οἱ λειτουργου̃ντες θυσιαστηρίω̨ εἰσέλθατε ὑπνώσατε ἐν σάκκοις λειτουργου̃ντες θεω̨̃ ὅτι ἀπέσχηκεν ἐξ οἴκου θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν θυσία καὶ σπονδή (Ⅲ)
- Accingite vos, et plangite, sacerdotes :/ ululate, ministri altaris ;/ ingredimini, cubate in sacco, ministri Dei mei,/ quoniam interiit de domo Dei vestri sacrificium et libatio./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 13 ׃1 חגרו וספדו הכהנים הילילו משרתי מזבח באו לינו בשקים משרתי אלהי כי נמנע מבית אלהיכם מנחה ונסך ‬ (Ⅴ)

Publiez un jeûne, une convocation solennelle! Assemblez les vieillards, tous les habitants du pays, Dans la maison de l'Éternel, votre Dieu, Et criez à l'Éternel!
- Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD, (Ⅱ)
- ἁγιάσατε νηστείαν κηρύξατε θεραπείαν συναγάγετε πρεσβυτέρους πάντας κατοικου̃ντας γη̃ν εἰς οἰ̃κον θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν καὶ κεκράξατε πρὸς κύριον ἐκτενω̃ς (Ⅲ)
- Sanctificate jejunium, vocate cœtum,/ congregate senes, omnes habitatores terræ/ in domum Dei vestri,/ et clamate ad Dominum :/ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 14 ׃1 קדשו צום קראו עצרה אספו זקנים כל ישבי הארץ בית יהוה אלהיכם וזעקו אל יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

Ah! quel jour! Car le jour de l'Éternel est proche: Il vient comme un ravage du Tout Puissant.
- Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come. (Ⅱ)
- οἴμμοι οἴμμοι οἴμμοι εἰς ἡμέραν ὅτι ἐγγὺς ἡμέρα κυρίου καὶ ὡς ταλαιπωρία ἐκ ταλαιπωρίας ἥξει (Ⅲ)
- A, a, a, diei !/ quia prope est dies Domini,/ et quasi vastitas a potente veniet./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 15 ׃1 אהה ליום כי קרוב יום יהוה וכשד משדי‪[U]‬ יבוא ‬ (Ⅴ)

La nourriture n'est-elle pas enlevée sous nos yeux? La joie et l'allégresse n'ont-elles pas disparu de la maison de notre Dieu?
- Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God? (Ⅱ)
- κατέναντι τω̃ν ὀφθαλμω̃ν ὑμω̃ν βρώματα ἐξωλεθρεύθη ἐξ οἴκου θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν εὐφροσύνη καὶ χαρά (Ⅲ)
- Numquid non coram oculis vestris alimenta perierunt/ de domo Dei nostri, lætitia et exsultatio ?/ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 16 ׃1 הלוא נגד עינינו אכל נכרת מבית אלהינו שמחה וגיל ‬ (Ⅴ)

Les semences ont séché sous les mottes; Les greniers sont vides, Les magasins sont en ruines, Car il n'y a point de blé.
- The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered. (Ⅱ)
- ἐσκίρτησαν δαμάλεις ἐπὶ ται̃ς φάτναις αὐτω̃ν ἠφανίσθησαν θησαυροί κατεσκάφησαν ληνοί ὅτι ἐξηράνθη σι̃τος (Ⅲ)
- Computruerunt jumenta in stercore suo,/ demolita sunt horrea,/ dissipatæ sunt apothecæ,/ quoniam confusum est triticum./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 17 ׃1 עבשו פרדות תחת מגרפתיהם נשמו אצרות נהרסו ממגרות כי הביש דגן ‬ (Ⅴ)

Comme les bêtes gémissent! Les troupeaux de boeufs sont consternés, Parce qu'ils sont sans pâturage; Et même les troupeaux de brebis sont en souffrance.
- How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate. (Ⅱ)
- τί ἀποθήσομεν ἑαυτοι̃ς ἔκλαυσαν βουκόλια βοω̃ν ὅτι οὐχ ὑπη̃ρχεν νομὴ αὐτοι̃ς καὶ τὰ ποίμνια τω̃ν προβάτων ἠφανίσθησαν (Ⅲ)
- Quid ingemuit animal,/ mugierunt greges armenti ?/ quia non est pascua eis ;/ sed et greges pecorum disperierunt./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 18 ׃1 מה נאנחה בהמה נבכו עדרי בקר כי אין מרעה להם גם עדרי הצאן נאשמו ‬ (Ⅴ)

C'est vers toi que je crie, ô Éternel! Car le feu a dévoré les plaines du désert, Et la flamme a brûlé tous les arbres des champs.
- O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field. (Ⅱ)
- πρὸς σέ κύριε βοήσομαι ὅτι πυ̃ρ ἀνήλωσεν τὰ ὡραι̃α τη̃ς ἐρήμου καὶ φλὸξ ἀνη̃ψεν πάντα τὰ ξύλα του̃ ἀγρου̃ (Ⅲ)
- Ad te, Domine, clamabo,/ quia ignis comedit speciosa deserti,/ et flamma succendit omnia ligna regionis./ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 19 ׃1 אליך יהוה אקרא כי אש אכלה נאות מדבר ולהבה להטה כל עצי השדה ‬ (Ⅴ)

Les bêtes des champs crient aussi vers toi; Car les torrents sont à sec, Et le feu a dévoré les plaines du désert.
- The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ τὰ κτήνη του̃ πεδίου ἀνέβλεψαν πρὸς σέ ὅτι ἐξηράνθησαν ἀφέσεις ὑδάτων καὶ πυ̃ρ κατέφαγεν τὰ ὡραι̃α τη̃ς ἐρήμου (Ⅲ)
- Sed et bestiæ agri, quasi area sitiens imbrem, suspexerunt ad te,/ quoniam exsiccati sunt fontes aquarum,/ et ignis devoravit speciosa deserti.] (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 20 ׃1 גם בהמות שדה תערוג אליך כי יבשו אפיקי מים ואש אכלה נאות המדבר פ‬ (Ⅴ)
