9. 1

I saw the LORD standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered.

- Je vis le Seigneur qui se tenait sur l'autel. Et il dit: Frappe les chapiteaux et que les seuils s'ébranlent, Et brise-les sur leurs têtes à tous! Je ferai périr le reste par l'épée. Aucun d'eux ne pourra se sauver en fuyant, Aucun d'eux n'échappera. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ̃δον τὸν κύριον ἐφεστω̃τα ἐπὶ του̃ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ εἰ̃πεν πάταξον ἐπὶ τὸ ἱλαστήριον καὶ σεισθήσεται τὰ πρόπυλα καὶ διάκοψον εἰς κεφαλὰς πάντων καὶ τοὺς καταλοίπους αὐτω̃ν ἐν ῥομφαία̨ ἀποκτενω̃ οὐ μὴ διαφύγη̨ ἐξ αὐτω̃ν φεύγων καὶ οὐ μὴ διασωθη̨̃ ἐξ αὐτω̃ν ἀνασω̨ζόμενος (Ⅲ)

- Vidi Dominum stantem super altare, et dixit : [Percute cardinem,/ et commoveantur superliminaria :/ avaritia enim in capite omnium,/ et novissimum eorum in gladio interficiam ;/ non erit fuga eis./ Fugient, et non salvabitur ex eis qui fugerit./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃9 ראיתי את אדני נצב על המזבח ויאמר הך הכפתור וירעשו הספים ובצעם בראש כלם ואחריתם בחרב אהרג לא ינוס להם נס ולא ימלט להם פליט ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 2

Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:

- S'ils pénètrent dans le séjour des morts, Ma main les en arrachera; S'ils montent aux cieux, Je les en ferai descendre. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν κατορυγω̃σιν εἰς ἅ̨δου ἐκει̃θεν ἡ χείρ μου ἀνασπάσει αὐτούς καὶ ἐὰν ἀναβω̃σιν εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν ἐκει̃θεν κατάξω αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Si descenderint usque ad infernum,/ inde manus mea educet eos ;/ et si ascenderint usque in cælum,/ inde detraham eos./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃9 אם יחתרו בשאול משם ידי תקחם ואם יעלו השמים משם אורידם ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 3

And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:

- S'ils se cachent au sommet du Carmel, Je les y chercherai et je les saisirai; S'ils se dérobent à mes regards dans le fond de la mer, Là j'ordonnerai au serpent de les mordre. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν ἐγκρυβω̃σιν εἰς τὴν κορυφὴν του̃ Καρμήλου ἐκει̃θεν ἐξερευνήσω καὶ λήμψομαι αὐτούς καὶ ἐὰν καταδύσωσιν ἐξ ὀφθαλμω̃ν μου εἰς τὰ βάθη τη̃ς θαλάσσης ἐκει̃ ἐντελου̃μαι τω̨̃ δράκοντι καὶ δήξεται αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Et si absconditi fuerint in vertice Carmeli,/ inde scrutans auferam eos ;/ et si celaverint se ab oculis meis in profundo maris,/ ibi mandabo serpenti, et mordebit eos./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃9 ואם יחבאו בראש הכרמל משם אחפש ולקחתים ואם יסתרו מנגד עיני בקרקע הים משם אצוה את הנחש ונשכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 4

And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.

- S'ils vont en captivité devant leurs ennemis, Là j'ordonnerai à l'épée de les faire périr; Je dirigerai contre eux mes regards Pour faire du mal et non du bien. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐὰν πορευθω̃σιν ἐν αἰχμαλωσία̨ πρὸ προσώπου τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν αὐτω̃ν ἐκει̃ ἐντελου̃μαι τη̨̃ ῥομφαία̨ καὶ ἀποκτενει̃ αὐτούς καὶ στηριω̃ τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου ἐπ' αὐτοὺς εἰς κακὰ καὶ οὐκ εἰς ἀγαθά (Ⅲ)

- Et si abierint in captivitatem coram inimicis suis,/ ibi mandabo gladio, et occidet eos :/ et ponam oculos meos super eos in malum,/ et non in bonum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃9 ואם ילכו בשבי לפני איביהם‪[U]‬ משם אצוה את החרב והרגתם ושמתי עיני עליהם לרעה ולא לטובה ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 5

And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

- Le Seigneur, l'Éternel des armées, touche la terre, et elle tremble, Et tous ses habitants sont dans le deuil; Elle monte tout entière comme le fleuve, Et elle s'affaisse comme le fleuve d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κύριος κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὁ ἐφαπτόμενος τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ σαλεύων αὐτήν καὶ πενθήσουσιν πάντες οἱ κατοικου̃ντες αὐτήν καὶ ἀναβήσεται ὡς ποταμὸς συντέλεια αὐτη̃ς καὶ καταβήσεται ὡς ποταμὸς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- Et Dominus Deus exercituum, qui tangit terram, et tabescet,/ et lugebunt omnes habitantes in ea :/ et ascendet sicut rivus omnis,/ et defluet sicut fluvius Ægypti./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃9 ואדני יהוה הצבאות הנוגע בארץ ותמוג ואבלו כל יושבי בה ועלתה כיאר כלה ושקעה כיאר מצרים‪[Q]‬‪[n]‬‪[p]‬ ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 6

It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that c|alleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.

- Il a bâti sa demeure dans les cieux, Et fondé sa voûte sur la terre; Il appelle les eaux de la mer, Et les répand à la surface de la terre: L'Éternel est son nom. (Ⅱ)

- ὁ οἰκοδομω̃ν εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἀνάβασιν αὐτου̃ καὶ τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς θεμελιω̃ν ὁ προσκαλούμενος τὸ ὕδωρ τη̃ς θαλάσσης καὶ ἐκχέων αὐτὸ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τη̃ς γη̃ς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὄνομα αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Qui ædificat in cælo ascensionem suam,/ et fasciculum suum super terram fundavit ;/ qui vocat aquas maris,/ et effundit eas super faciem terræ :/ Dominus nomen ejus./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃9 הבונה בשמים *מעלותו **מעלותיו ואגדתו על ארץ יסדה הקרא למי הים וישפכם על פני הארץ יהוה שמו ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 7

Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?

- N'êtes-vous pas pour moi comme les enfants des Éthiopiens, Enfants d'Israël? dit l'Éternel. N'ai-je pas fait sortir Israël du pays d'Égypte, Comme les Philistins de Caphtor et les Syriens de Kir? (Ⅱ)

- οὐχ ὡς υἱοὶ Αἰθιόπων ὑμει̃ς ἐστε ἐμοί υἱοὶ Ισραηλ λέγει κύριος οὐ τὸν Ισραηλ ἀνήγαγον ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου καὶ τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους ἐκ Καππαδοκίας καὶ τοὺς Σύρους ἐκ βόθρου (Ⅲ)

- Numquid non ut filii Æthiopum/ vos estis mihi, filii Israël ? ait Dominus./ Numquid non Israël ascendere feci de terra Ægypti,/ et Palæstinos de Cappadocia,/ et Syros de Cyrene ?]\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃9 הלוא כבני כשיים אתם לי בני ישראל נאם יהוה הלוא את ישראל העליתי מארץ מצרים ופלשתיים מכפתור וארם מקיר ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 8

Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.

- Voici, le Seigneur, l'Éternel, a les yeux sur le royaume coupable. Je le détruirai de dessus la face de la terre; Toutefois je ne détruirai pas entièrement la maison de Jacob, Dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- ἰδοὺ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ἐπὶ τὴν βασιλείαν τω̃ν ἁμαρτωλω̃ν καὶ ἐξαρω̃ αὐτὴν ἀπὸ προσώπου τη̃ς γη̃ς πλὴν ὅτι οὐκ εἰς τέλος ἐξαρω̃ τὸν οἰ̃κον Ιακωβ λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ)

- Ecce oculi Domini Dei super regnum peccans :/ et conteram illud a facie terræ ;/ verumtamen conterens non conteram domum Jacob,/ dicit Dominus./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃9 הנה עיני אדני יהוה בממלכה החטאה והשמדתי אתה מעל פני האדמה אפס כי לא השמיד אשמיד את בית יעקב נאם יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 9

For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.

- Car voici, je donnerai mes ordres, Et je secouerai la maison d'Israël parmi toutes les nations, Comme on secoue avec le crible, Sans qu'il tombe à terre un seul grain. (Ⅱ)

- διότι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι καὶ λικμιω̃ ἐν πα̃σι τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ Ισραηλ ὃν τρόπον λικμα̃ται ἐν τω̨̃ λικμω̨̃ καὶ οὐ μὴ πέση̨ σύντριμμα ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Ecce enim mandabo ego,/ et concutiam in omnibus gentibus domum Israël,/ sicut concutitur triticum in cribro,/ et non cadet lapillus super terram./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃9 כי הנה אנכי מצוה והנעותי בכל הגוים את בית ישראל כאשר ינוע בכברה ולא יפול צרור ארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 10

All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.

- Tous les pécheurs de mon peuple mourront par l'épée, Ceux qui disent: Le malheur n'approchera pas, ne nous atteindra pas. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν ῥομφαία̨ τελευτήσουσι πάντες ἁμαρτωλοὶ λαου̃ μου οἱ λέγοντες οὐ μὴ ἐγγίση̨ οὐδ' οὐ μὴ γένηται ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς τὰ κακά (Ⅲ)

- In gladio morientur omnes peccatores populi mei,/ qui dicunt : Non appropinquabit,/ et non veniet super nos malum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃9 בחרב ימותו כל חטאי עמי האמרים לא תגיש ותקדים בעדינו הרעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 11

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

- En ce temps-là, je relèverai de sa chute la maison de David, J'en réparerai les brèches, j'en redresserai les ruines, Et je la rebâtirai comme elle était autrefois, (Ⅱ)

- ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ἀναστήσω τὴν σκηνὴν Δαυιδ τὴν πεπτωκυι̃αν καὶ ἀνοικοδομήσω τὰ πεπτωκότα αὐτη̃ς καὶ τὰ κατεσκαμμένα αὐτη̃ς ἀναστήσω καὶ ἀνοικοδομήσω αὐτὴν καθὼς αἱ ἡμέραι του̃ αἰω̃νος (Ⅲ)

- In die illa suscitabo tabernaculum David, quod cecidit :/ et reædificabo aperturas murorum ejus,/ et ea quæ corruerant instaurabo :/ et reædificabo illud sicut in diebus antiquis,/ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃9 ביום ההוא אקים את סכת דויד הנפלת וגדרתי את פרציהן והרסתיו אקים ובניתיה כימי עולם ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 12

That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.

- Afin qu'ils possèdent le reste d'Édom et toutes les nations Sur lesquelles mon nom a été invoqué, Dit l'Éternel, qui accomplira ces choses. (Ⅱ)

- ὅπως ἐκζητήσωσιν οἱ κατάλοιποι τω̃ν ἀνθρώπων καὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐφ' οὓς ἐπικέκληται τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐπ' αὐτούς λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιω̃ν ταυ̃τα (Ⅲ)

- ut possideant reliquias Idumææ, et omnes nationes :/ eo quod invocatum sit nomen meum super eos,/ dicit Dominus faciens hæc./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃9 למען יירשו את שארית אדום וכל הגוים אשר נקרא שמי עליהם נאם יהוה עשה זאת פ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 13

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.

- Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, Où le laboureur suivra de près le moissonneur, Et celui qui foule le raisin celui qui répand la semence, Où le moût ruissellera des montagnes Et coulera de toutes les collines. (Ⅱ)

- ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται λέγει κύριος καὶ καταλήμψεται ὁ ἀλοητὸς τὸν τρύγητον καὶ περκάσει ἡ σταφυλὴ ἐν τω̨̃ σπόρω̨ καὶ ἀποσταλάξει τὰ ὄρη γλυκασμόν καὶ πάντες οἱ βουνοὶ σύμφυτοι ἔσονται (Ⅲ)

- Ecce dies veniunt, dicit Dominus,/ et comprehendet arator messorem,/ et calcator uvæ mittentem semen :/ et stillabunt montes dulcedinem,/ et omnes colli culti erunt./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃9 הנה ימים באים נאם יהוה ונגש חורש בקצר ודרך ענבים במשך הזרע והטיפו ההרים עסיס וכל הגבעות תתמוגגנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 14

And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

- Je ramènerai les captifs de mon peuple d'Israël; Ils rebâtiront les villes dévastées et les habiteront, Ils planteront des vignes et en boiront le vin, Ils établiront des jardins et en mangeront les fruits. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπιστρέψω τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν λαου̃ μου Ισραηλ καὶ οἰκοδομήσουσιν πόλεις τὰς ἠφανισμένας καὶ κατοικήσουσιν καὶ καταφυτεύσουσιν ἀμπελω̃νας καὶ πίονται τὸν οἰ̃νον αὐτω̃ν καὶ φυτεύσουσιν κήπους καὶ φάγονται τὸν καρπὸν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et convertam captivitatem populi mei Israël ;/ et ædificabunt civitates desertas, et inhabitabunt ;/ et plantabunt vineas, et bibent vinum earum,/ et facient hortos, et comedent fructus eorum./ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃9 ושבתי את שבות עמי ישראל ובנו ערים נשמות וישבו ונטעו כרמים ושתו את יינם ועשו גנות ואכלו את פריהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

9. 15

And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

- Je les planterai dans leur pays, Et ils ne seront plus arrachés du pays que je leur ai donné, Dit L'Éternel, ton Dieu. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ καταφυτεύσω αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς αὐτω̃ν καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐκσπασθω̃σιν οὐκέτι ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἡ̃ς ἔδωκα αὐτοι̃ς λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ (Ⅲ)

- Et plantabo eos super humum suam,/ et non evellam eos ultra de terra sua, quam dedi eis,/ dicit Dominus Deus tuus.] (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃9 ונטעתים על אדמתם ולא ינתשו עוד מעל אדמתם אשר נתתי להם אמר יהוה אלהיך ‬ (Ⅴ)
