Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
- Malheur à moi! car je suis comme à la récolte des fruits, Comme au grappillage après la vendange: Il n'y a point de grappes à manger, Point de ces primeurs que mon âme désire. (Ⅱ) - οἴμμοι ὅτι ἐγενόμην ὡς συνάγων καλάμην ἐν ἀμήτω̨ καὶ ὡς ἐπιφυλλίδα ἐν τρυγήτω̨ οὐχ ὑπάρχοντος βότρυος του̃ φαγει̃ν τὰ πρωτόγονα οἴμμοι ψυχή (Ⅲ) - Væ mihi, quia factus sum sicut qui colligit in autumno racemos vindemiæ !/ non est botrus ad comedendum,/ præcoquas ficus desideravit anima mea./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃7 אללי לי כי הייתי כאספי קיץ כעללת בציר אין אשכול לאכול בכורה אותה נפשי (Ⅴ)

The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
- L'homme de bien a disparu du pays, Et il n'y a plus de juste parmi les hommes; Ils sont tous en embuscade pour verser le sang, Chacun tend un piège à son frère. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι ἀπόλωλεν εὐλαβὴς ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ κατορθω̃ν ἐν ἀνθρώποις οὐχ ὑπάρχει πάντες εἰς αἵματα δικάζονται ἕκαστος τὸν πλησίον αὐτου̃ ἐκθλίβουσιν ἐκθλιβη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Periit sanctus de terra,/ et rectus in hominibus non est :/ omnes in sanguine insidiantur ;/ vir fratrem suum ad mortem venatur./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃7 אבד חסיד מן הארץ וישר באדם אין כלם לדמים יארבו איש את אחיהו יצודו חרם (Ⅴ)

That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.
- Leurs mains sont habiles à faire le mal: Le prince a des exigences, Le juge réclame un salaire, Le grand manifeste son avidité, Et ils font ainsi cause commune. (Ⅱ) - ἐπὶ τὸ κακὸν τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτω̃ν ἑτοιμάζουσιν ὁ ἄρχων αἰτει̃ καὶ ὁ κριτὴς εἰρηνικοὺς λόγους ἐλάλησεν καταθύμιον ψυχη̃ς αὐτου̃ ἐστιν καὶ ἐξελου̃μαι (Ⅲ) - Malum manuum suarum dicunt bonum :/ princeps postulat, et judex in reddendo est ;/ et magnus locutus est desiderium animæ suæ,/ et conturbaverunt eam./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃7 על הרע כפים להיטיב השר שאל והשפט בשלום[Q][n][p] והגדול דבר הות נפשו הוא ויעבתוה (Ⅴ)

The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.
- Le meilleur d'entre eux est comme une ronce, Le plus droit pire qu'un buisson d'épines. Le jour annoncé par tes prophètes, ton châtiment approche. C'est alors qu'ils seront dans la confusion. (Ⅱ) - τὰ ἀγαθὰ αὐτω̃ν ὡς σὴς ἐκτρώγων καὶ βαδίζων ἐπὶ κανόνος ἐν ἡμέρα̨ σκοπια̃ς οὐαὶ οὐαί αἱ ἐκδικήσεις σου ἥκασιν νυ̃ν ἔσονται κλαυθμοὶ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Qui optimus in eis est, quasi paliurus,/ et qui rectus, quasi spina de sepe./ Dies speculationis tuæ, visitatio tua venit :/ nunc erit vastitas eorum./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃7 טובם כחדק ישר ממסוכה יום מצפיך פקדתך באה עתה תהיה מבוכתם (Ⅴ)

Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
- Ne crois pas à un ami, Ne te fie pas à un intime; Devant celle qui repose sur ton sein Garde les portes de ta bouche. (Ⅱ) - μὴ καταπιστεύετε ἐν φίλοις καὶ μὴ ἐλπίζετε ἐπὶ ἡγουμένοις ἀπὸ τη̃ς συγκοίτου σου φύλαξαι του̃ ἀναθέσθαι τι αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Nolite credere amico,/ et nolite confidere in duce :/ ab ea quæ dormit in sinu tuo custodi claustra oris tui./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃7 אל תאמינו ברע אל תבטחו באלוף משכבת חיקך שמר פתחי פיך (Ⅴ)

For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.
- Car le fils outrage le père, La fille se soulève contre sa mère, La belle-fille contre sa belle-mère; Chacun a pour ennemis les gens de sa maison. - (Ⅱ) - διότι υἱὸς ἀτιμάζει πατέρα θυγάτηρ ἐπαναστήσεται ἐπὶ τὴν μητέρα αὐτη̃ς νύμφη ἐπὶ τὴν πενθερὰν αὐτη̃ς ἐχθροὶ ἀνδρὸς πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Quia filius contumeliam facit patri,/ et filia consurgit adversus matrem suam :/ nurus adversus socrum suam,/ et inimici hominis domestici ejus.]\ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃7 כי בן מנבל אב בת קמה באמה כלה בחמתה איבי איש אנשי ביתו (Ⅴ)

Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
- Pour moi, je regarderai vers l'Éternel, Je mettrai mon espérance dans le Dieu de mon salut; Mon Dieu m'exaucera. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
- Ne te réjouis pas à mon sujet, mon ennemie! Car si je suis tombée, je me relèverai; Si je suis assise dans les ténèbres, L'Éternel sera ma lumière. (Ⅱ) - μὴ ἐπίχαιρέ μοι ἡ ἐχθρά μου ὅτι πέπτωκα καὶ ἀναστήσομαι διότι ἐὰν καθίσω ἐν τω̨̃ σκότει κύριος φωτιει̃ μοι (Ⅲ) - Ne læteris, inimica mea, super me, quia cecidi :/ consurgam cum sedero in tenebris :/ Dominus lux mea est./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃7 אל תשמחי איבתי לי כי נפלתי קמתי כי אשב בחשך יהוה אור לי ס (Ⅴ)

I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
- Je supporterai la colère de l'Éternel, Puisque j'ai péché contre lui, Jusqu'à ce qu'il défende ma cause et me fasse droit; Il me conduira à la lumière, Et je contemplerai sa justice. (Ⅱ) - ὀργὴν κυρίου ὑποίσω ὅτι ἥμαρτον αὐτω̨̃ ἕως του̃ δικαιω̃σαι αὐτὸν τὴν δίκην μου καὶ ποιήσει τὸ κρίμα μου καὶ ἐξάξει με εἰς τὸ φω̃ς ὄψομαι τὴν δικαιοσύνην αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Iram Domini portabo,/ quoniam peccavi ei,/ donec causam meam judicet,/ et faciat judicium meum./ Educet me in lucem :/ videbo justitiam ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃7 זעף יהוה אשא כי חטאתי לו עד אשר יריב ריבי ועשה משפטי יוציאני לאור אראה בצדקתו (Ⅴ)

Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
- Mon ennemie le verra et sera couverte de honte, Elle qui me disait: Où est l'Éternel, ton Dieu? Mes yeux se réjouiront à sa vue; Alors elle sera foulée aux pieds comme la boue des rues. - (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὄψεται ἡ ἐχθρά μου καὶ περιβαλει̃ται αἰσχύνην ἡ λέγουσα πρός με που̃ κύριος ὁ θεός σου οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου ἐπόψονται αὐτήν νυ̃ν ἔσται εἰς καταπάτημα ὡς πηλὸς ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - Et aspiciet inimica mea,/ et operietur confusione,/ quæ dicit ad me : Ubi est Dominus Deus tuus ?/ Oculi mei videbunt in eam :/ nunc erit in conculcationem ut lutum platearum./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃7 ותרא איבתי ותכסה בושה האמרה אלי איו יהוה אלהיך עיני תראינה בה עתה תהיה למרמס כטיט חוצות (Ⅴ)

In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be far removed.
- Le jour où l'on rebâtira tes murs, Ce jour-là tes limites seront reculées. (Ⅱ) - ἡμέρας ἀλοιφη̃ς πλίνθου ἐξάλειψίς σου ἡ ἡμέρα ἐκείνη καὶ ἀποτρίψεται νόμιμά σου (Ⅲ) - Dies, ut ædificentur maceriæ tuæ ;/ in die illa longe fiet lex./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃7 יום לבנות גדריך יום ההוא ירחק חק (Ⅴ)

In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.
- En ce jour, on viendra vers toi De l'Assyrie et des villes d'Égypte, De l'Égypte jusqu'au fleuve, D'une mer à l'autre, et d'une montagne à l'autre. (Ⅱ) - ἡ ἡμέρα ἐκείνη καὶ αἱ πόλεις σου ἥξουσιν εἰς ὁμαλισμὸν καὶ εἰς διαμερισμὸν 'Ασσυρίων καὶ αἱ πόλεις σου αἱ ὀχυραὶ εἰς διαμερισμὸν ἀπὸ Τύρου ἕως του̃ ποταμου̃ Συρίας ἡμέρα ὕδατος καὶ θορύβου (Ⅲ) - In die illa et usque ad te veniet de Assur,/ et usque ad civitates munitas,/ et a civitatibus munitis usque ad flumen,/ et ad mare de mari,/ et ad montem de monte./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃7 יום הוא ועדיך יבוא למני אשור וערי מצור ולמני מצור ועד נהר וים מים והר ההר (Ⅴ)

Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
- Le pays sera dévasté à cause de ses habitants, A cause du fruit de leurs oeuvres. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἡ γη̃ εἰς ἀφανισμὸν σὺν τοι̃ς κατοικου̃σιν αὐτὴν ἐκ καρπω̃ν ἐπιτηδευμάτων αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et terra erit in desolationem propter habitatores suos,/ et propter fructum cogitationum eorum.]\ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃7 והיתה הארץ לשממה על ישביה מפרי מעלליהם ס (Ⅴ)

Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
- Pais ton peuple avec ta houlette, le troupeau de ton héritage, Qui habite solitaire dans la forêt au milieu du Carmel! Qu'ils paissent sur le Basan et en Galaad, Comme au jour d'autrefois. - (Ⅱ) - ποίμαινε λαόν σου ἐν ῥάβδω̨ σου πρόβατα κληρονομίας σου κατασκηνου̃ντας καθ' ἑαυτοὺς δρυμὸν ἐν μέσω̨ του̃ Καρμήλου νεμήσονται τὴν Βασανι̃τιν καὶ τὴν Γαλααδι̃τιν καθὼς αἱ ἡμέραι του̃ αἰω̃νος (Ⅲ) - Pasce populum tuum in virga tua,/ gregem hæreditatis tuæ, habitantes solos, in saltu, in medio Carmeli./ Pascentur Basan et Galaad juxta dies antiquos./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃7 רעה עמך בשבטך צאן נחלתך שכני לבדד יער בתוך כרמל ירעו בשן וגלעד כימי עולם (Ⅴ)

According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.
- Comme au jour où tu sortis du pays d'Égypte, Je te ferai voir des prodiges. - (Ⅱ) - καὶ κατὰ τὰς ἡμέρας ἐξοδίας σου ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ὄψεσθε θαυμαστά (Ⅲ) - Secundum dies egressionis tuæ de terra Ægypti,/ ostendam ei mirabilia./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃7 כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאות (Ⅴ)

The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
- Les nations le verront, et seront confuses, Avec toute leur puissance; Elles mettront la main sur la bouche, Leurs oreilles seront assourdies. (Ⅱ) - ὄψονται ἔθνη καὶ καταισχυνθήσονται ἐκ πάσης τη̃ς ἰσχύος αὐτω̃ν ἐπιθήσουσιν χει̃ρας ἐπὶ τὸ στόμα αὐτω̃ν τὰ ὠ̃τα αὐτω̃ν ἀποκωφωθήσονται (Ⅲ) - Videbunt gentes,/ et confundentur super omni fortitudine sua./ Ponent manum super os,/ aures eorum surdæ erunt./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃7 יראו גוים ויבשו מכל גבורתם ישימו יד על פה אזניהם תחרשנה (Ⅴ)

They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.
- Elles lécheront la poussière, comme le serpent, Comme les reptiles de la terre; Elles seront saisies de frayeur hors de leurs forteresses; Elles trembleront devant l'Éternel, notre Dieu, Elles te craindront. (Ⅱ) - λείξουσιν χου̃ν ὡς ὄφεις σύροντες γη̃ν συγχυθήσονται ἐν συγκλεισμω̨̃ αὐτω̃ν ἐπὶ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ θεω̨̃ ἡμω̃ν ἐκστήσονται καὶ φοβηθήσονται ἀπὸ σου̃ (Ⅲ) - Lingent pulverem sicut serpentes ;/ velut reptilia terræ perturbabuntur in ædibus suis./ Dominum Deum nostrum formidabunt,/ et timebunt te./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃7 ילחכו עפר כנחש כזחלי ארץ ירגזו ממסגרתיהם אל יהוה אלהינו יפחדו ויראו ממך (Ⅴ)

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
- Quel Dieu est semblable à toi, Qui pardonnes l'iniquité, qui oublies les péchés Du reste de ton héritage? Il ne garde pas sa colère à toujours, Car il prend plaisir à la miséricorde. (Ⅱ) - τίς θεὸς ὥσπερ σύ ἐξαίρων ἀδικίας καὶ ὑπερβαίνων ἀσεβείας τοι̃ς καταλοίποις τη̃ς κληρονομίας αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐ συνέσχεν εἰς μαρτύριον ὀργὴν αὐτου̃ ὅτι θελητὴς ἐλέους ἐστίν (Ⅲ) - Quis, Deus, similis tui,/ qui aufers iniquitatem,/ et transis peccatum reliquiarum hæreditatis tuæ ?/ Non immittet ultra furorem suum,/ quoniam volens misericordiam est./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃7 מי אל כמוך נשא עון ועבר על פשע לשארית נחלתו לא החזיק לעד אפו כי חפץ חסד הוא (Ⅴ)

He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
- Il aura encore compassion de nous, Il mettra sous ses pieds nos iniquités; Tu jetteras au fond de la mer tous leurs péchés. (Ⅱ) - αὐτὸς ἐπιστρέψει καὶ οἰκτιρήσει ἡμα̃ς καταδύσει τὰς ἀδικίας ἡμω̃ν καὶ ἀπορριφήσονται εἰς τὰ βάθη τη̃ς θαλάσσης πάσας τὰς ἁμαρτίας ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Revertetur, et miserebitur nostri ;/ deponet iniquitates nostras,/ et projiciet in profundum maris omnia peccata nostra./ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃7 ישוב ירחמנו יכבש עונתינו ותשליך במצלות ים כל חטאותם (Ⅴ)

Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
- Tu témoigneras de la fidélité à Jacob, De la bonté à Abraham, Comme tu l'as juré à nos pères aux jours d'autrefois. (Ⅱ) - δώσεις ἀλήθειαν τω̨̃ Ιακωβ ἔλεον τω̨̃ Αβρααμ καθότι ὤμοσας τοι̃ς πατράσιν ἡμω̃ν κατὰ τὰς ἡμέρας τὰς ἔμπροσθεν (Ⅲ) - Dabis veritatem Jacob,/ misericordiam Abraham,/ quæ jurasti patribus nostris a diebus antiquis.] (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃7 תתן אמת ליעקב חסד לאברהם אשר נשבעת לאבתינו מימי קדם (Ⅴ)
