11. 1

And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

- Le peuple murmura et cela déplut aux oreilles l'Éternel. Lorsque l'Éternel l'entendit, sa colère s'enflamma; le feu de l'Éternel s'alluma parmi eux, et dévora l'extrémité du camp. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃ν ὁ λαὸς γογγύζων πονηρὰ ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ ἤκουσεν κύριος καὶ ἐθυμώθη ὀργη̨̃ καὶ ἐξεκαύθη ἐν αὐτοι̃ς πυ̃ρ παρὰ κυρίου καὶ κατέφαγεν μέρος τι τη̃ς παρεμβολη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Interea ortum est murmur populi, quasi dolentium pro labore, contra Dominum. Quod cum audisset Dominus, iratus est. Et accensus in eos ignis Domini, devoravit extremam castrorum partem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃11 ויהי העם כמתאננים רע באזני יהוה וישמע יהוה ויחר אפו ותבער בם אש יהוה ותאכל בקצה המחנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 2

And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.

- Le peuple cria à Moïse. Moïse pria l'Éternel, et le feu s'arrêta. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκέκραξεν ὁ λαὸς πρὸς Μωυση̃ν καὶ ηὔξατο Μωυση̃ς πρὸς κύριον καὶ ἐκόπασεν τὸ πυ̃ρ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque clamasset populus ad Moysen, oravit Moyses ad Dominum, et absorptus est ignis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃11 ויצעק העם אל משה ויתפלל משה אל יהוה ותשקע האש ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 3

And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.

- On donna à ce lieu le nom de Tabeéra, parce que le feu de l'Éternel s'était allumé parmi eux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα του̃ τόπου ἐκείνου ἐμπυρισμός ὅτι ἐξεκαύθη ἐν αὐτοι̃ς πυ̃ρ παρὰ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Vocavitque nomen loci illius, Incensio : eo quod incensus fuisset contra eos ignis Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃11 ויקרא שם המקום ההוא תבערה כי בערה בם אש יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 4

And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

- Le ramassis de gens qui se trouvaient au milieu d'Israël fut saisi de convoitise; et même les enfants d'Israël recommencèrent à pleurer et dirent: Qui nous donnera de la viande à manger? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὁ ἐπίμικτος ὁ ἐν αὐτοι̃ς ἐπεθύμησαν ἐπιθυμίαν καὶ καθίσαντες ἔκλαιον καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καὶ εἰ̃παν τίς ἡμα̃ς ψωμιει̃ κρέα (Ⅲ)

- Vulgus quippe promiscuum, quod ascenderat cum eis, flagravit desiderio, sedens et flens, junctis sibi pariter filiis Israël, et ait : Quis dabit nobis ad vescendum carnes ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃11 והאספסף אשר בקרבו התאוו תאוה וישבו ויבכו גם בני ישראל ויאמרו מי יאכלנו בשר ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 5

We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic:

- Nous nous souvenons des poissons que nous mangions en Égypte, et qui ne nous coûtaient rien, des concombres, des melons, des poireaux, des oignons et des aulx. (Ⅱ)

- ἐμνήσθημεν τοὺς ἰχθύας οὓς ἠσθίομεν ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ δωρεάν καὶ τοὺς σικύας καὶ τοὺς πέπονας καὶ τὰ πράσα καὶ τὰ κρόμμυα καὶ τὰ σκόρδα (Ⅲ)

- recordamur piscium quos comedebamus in Ægypto gratis : in mentem nobis veniunt cucumeres, et pepones, porrique, et cæpe, et allia. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃11 זכרנו את הדגה אשר נאכל במצרים חנם את הקשאים ואת האבטחים ואת החציר ואת הבצלים ואת השומים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 6

But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

- Maintenant, notre âme est desséchée: plus rien! Nos yeux ne voient que de la manne. (Ⅱ)

- νυνὶ δὲ ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμω̃ν κατάξηρος οὐδὲν πλὴν εἰς τὸ μαννα οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Anima nostra arida est : nihil aliud respiciunt oculi nostri nisi man. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃11 ועתה נפשנו יבשה אין כל בלתי אל המן עינינו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 7

And the manna was as coriander seed, and the color thereof as the color of bdellium.

- La manne ressemblait à de la graine de coriandre, et avait l'apparence du bdellium. (Ⅱ)

- τὸ δὲ μαννα ὡσεὶ σπέρμα κορίου ἐστίν καὶ τὸ εἰ̃δος αὐτου̃ εἰ̃δος κρυστάλλου (Ⅲ)

- Erat autem man quasi semen coriandri, coloris bdellii. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃11 והמן כזרע גד הוא ועינו כעין הבדלח ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 8

And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.

- Le peuple se dispersait pour la ramasser; il la broyait avec des meules, ou la pilait dans un mortier; il la cuisait au pot, et en faisait des gâteaux. Elle avait le goût d'un gâteau à l'huile. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διεπορεύετο ὁ λαὸς καὶ συνέλεγον καὶ ἤληθον αὐτὸ ἐν τω̨̃ μύλω̨ καὶ ἔτριβον ἐν τη̨̃ θυία̨ καὶ ἥψουν αὐτὸ ἐν τη̨̃ χύτρα̨ καὶ ἐποίουν αὐτὸ ἐγκρυφίας καὶ ἠ̃ν ἡ ἡδονὴ αὐτου̃ ὡσεὶ γευ̃μα ἐγκρὶς ἐξ ἐλαίου (Ⅲ)

- Circuibatque populus, et colligens illud, frangebat mola, sive terebat in mortario, coquens in olla, et faciens ex eo tortulas saporis quasi panis oleati. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃11 שטו העם ולקטו וטחנו ברחים או דכו במדכה ובשלו בפרור ועשו אתו עגות והיה טעמו כטעם לשד השמן ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 9

And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.

- Quand la rosée descendait la nuit sur le camp, la manne y descendait aussi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὅταν κατέβη ἡ δρόσος ἐπὶ τὴν παρεμβολὴν νυκτός κατέβαινεν τὸ μαννα ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Cumque descenderet nocte super castra ros, descendebat pariter et man.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃11 וברדת הטל על המחנה לילה ירד המן עליו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 10

Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.

- Moïse entendit le peuple qui pleurait, chacun dans sa famille et à l'entrée de sa tente. La colère de l'Éternel s'enflamma fortement. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤκουσεν Μωυση̃ς κλαιόντων αὐτω̃ν κατὰ δήμους αὐτω̃ν ἕκαστον ἐπὶ τη̃ς θύρας αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐθυμώθη ὀργη̨̃ κύριος σφόδρα καὶ ἔναντι Μωυση̃ ἠ̃ν πονηρόν (Ⅲ)

- Audivit ergo Moyses flentem populum per familias, singulos per ostia tentorii sui. Iratusque est furor Domini valde : sed et Moysi intoleranda res visa est, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃11 וישמע משה את העם בכה למשפחתיו איש לפתח אהלו ויחר אף יהוה מאד ובעיני משה רע ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 11

And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favor in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?

- Moïse fut attristé, et il dit à l'Éternel: Pourquoi affliges-tu ton serviteur, et pourquoi n'ai-je pas trouvé grâce à tes yeux, que tu aies mis sur moi la charge de tout ce peuple? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Μωυση̃ς πρὸς κύριον ἵνα τί ἐκάκωσας τὸν θεράποντά σου καὶ διὰ τί οὐχ εὕρηκα χάριν ἐναντίον σου ἐπιθει̃ναι τὴν ὁρμὴν του̃ λαου̃ τούτου ἐπ' ἐμέ (Ⅲ)

- et ait ad Dominum : Cur afflixisti servum tuum ? quare non invenio gratiam coram te ? et cur imposuisti pondus universi populi hujus super me ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃11 ויאמר משה אל יהוה למה הרעת לעבדך ולמה לא מצתי חן בעיניך לשום את משא כל העם הזה עלי ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 12

Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?

- Est-ce moi qui ai conçu ce peuple? est-ce moi qui l'ai enfanté, pour que tu me dises: Porte-le sur ton sein, comme le nourricier porte un enfant, jusqu'au pays que tu as juré à ses pères de lui donner? (Ⅱ)

- μὴ ἐγὼ ἐν γαστρὶ ἔλαβον πάντα τὸν λαὸν του̃τον ἢ ἐγὼ ἔτεκον αὐτούς ὅτι λέγεις μοι λαβὲ αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν κόλπον σου ὡσεὶ ἄραι τιθηνὸς τὸν θηλάζοντα εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἣν ὤμοσας τοι̃ς πατράσιν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Numquid ego concepi omnem hanc multitudinem, vel genui eam, ut dicas mihi : Porta eos in sinu tuo sicut portare solet nutrix infantulum, et defer in terram, pro qua jurasti patribus eorum ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃11 האנכי הריתי את כל העם הזה אם אנכי ילדתיהו כי תאמר אלי שאהו בחיקך כאשר ישא האמן את הינק על האדמה אשר נשבעת לאבתיו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 13

Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

- Où prendrai-je de la viande pour donner à tout ce peuple? Car ils pleurent auprès de moi, en disant: Donne-nous de la viande à manger! (Ⅱ)

- πόθεν μοι κρέα δου̃ναι παντὶ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ τούτω̨ ὅτι κλαίουσιν ἐπ' ἐμοὶ λέγοντες δὸς ἡμι̃ν κρέα ἵνα φάγωμεν (Ⅲ)

- Unde mihi carnes ut dem tantæ multitudini ? flent contra me, dicentes : Da nobis carnes ut comedamus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃11 מאין לי בשר לתת לכל העם הזה כי יבכו עלי לאמר תנה לנו בשר ונאכלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 14

I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

- Je ne puis pas, à moi seul, porter tout ce peuple, car il est trop pesant pour moi. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ δυνήσομαι ἐγὼ μόνος φέρειν τὸν λαὸν του̃τον ὅτι βαρύτερόν μοί ἐστιν τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το (Ⅲ)

- Non possum solus sustinere omnem hunc populum, quia gravis est mihi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃11 לא אוכל אנכי לבדי לשאת את כל העם הזה כי כבד ממני ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 15

And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favor in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

- Plutôt que de me traiter ainsi, tue-moi, je te prie, si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, et que je ne voie pas mon malheur. (Ⅱ)

- εἰ δὲ οὕτως σὺ ποιει̃ς μοι ἀπόκτεινόν με ἀναιρέσει εἰ εὕρηκα ἔλεος παρὰ σοί ἵνα μὴ ἴδω μου τὴν κάκωσιν (Ⅲ)

- Sin aliter tibi videtur, obsecro ut interficias me, et inveniam gratiam in oculis tuis, ne tantis afficiar malis.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃11 ואם ככה את עשה לי הרגני נא הרג אם מצאתי חן בעיניך ואל אראה ברעתי פ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 16

And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.

- L'Éternel dit à Moïse: Assemble auprès de moi soixante-dix hommes des anciens d'Israël, de ceux que tu connais comme anciens du peuple et ayant autorité sur lui; amène-les à la tente d'assignation, et qu'ils s'y présentent avec toi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυση̃ν συνάγαγέ μοι ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας ἀπὸ τω̃ν πρεσβυτέρων Ισραηλ οὓς αὐτὸς σὺ οἰ̃δας ὅτι οὑ̃τοί εἰσιν πρεσβύτεροι του̃ λαου̃ καὶ γραμματει̃ς αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἄξεις αὐτοὺς πρὸς τὴν σκηνὴν του̃ μαρτυρίου καὶ στήσονται ἐκει̃ μετὰ σου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et dixit Dominus ad Moysen : Congrega mihi septuaginta viros de senibus Israël, quos tu nosti quod senes populi sint ac magistri : et duces eos ad ostium tabernaculi fœderis, faciesque ibi stare tecum, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃11 ויאמר יהוה אל משה אספה לי שבעים איש מזקני ישראל אשר ידעת כי הם זקני העם ושטריו ולקחת אתם אל אהל מועד והתיצבו שם עמך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 17

And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

- Je descendrai, et là je te parlerai; je prendrai de l'esprit qui est sur toi, et je le mettrai sur eux, afin qu'ils portent avec toi la charge du peuple, et que tu ne la portes pas à toi seul. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ καταβήσομαι καὶ λαλήσω ἐκει̃ μετὰ σου̃ καὶ ἀφελω̃ ἀπὸ του̃ πνεύματος του̃ ἐπὶ σοὶ καὶ ἐπιθήσω ἐπ' αὐτούς καὶ συναντιλήμψονται μετὰ σου̃ τὴν ὁρμὴν του̃ λαου̃ καὶ οὐκ οἴσεις αὐτοὺς σὺ μόνος (Ⅲ)

- ut descendam et loquar tibi : et auferam de spiritu tuo, tradamque eis, ut sustentent tecum onus populi, et non tu solus graveris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃11 וירדתי ודברתי עמך שם ואצלתי מן הרוח אשר עליך ושמתי עליהם ונשאו אתך במשא העם ולא תשא אתה לבדך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 18

And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

- Tu diras au peuple: Sanctifiez-vous pour demain, et vous mangerez de la viande, puisque vous avez pleuré aux oreilles de l'Éternel, en disant: Qui nous fera manger de la viande? car nous étions bien en Égypte. L'Éternel vous donnera de la viande, et vous en mangerez. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ ἐρει̃ς ἁγνίσασθε εἰς αὔριον καὶ φάγεσθε κρέα ὅτι ἐκλαύσατε ἔναντι κυρίου λέγοντες τίς ἡμα̃ς ψωμιει̃ κρέα ὅτι καλὸν ἡμι̃ν ἐστιν ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ καὶ δώσει κύριος ὑμι̃ν κρέα φαγει̃ν καὶ φάγεσθε κρέα (Ⅲ)

- Populo quoque dices : Sanctificamini (cras comedetis carnes : ego enim audivi vos dicere : Quis dabit nobis escas carnium ? bene nobis erat in Ægypto), ut det vobis Dominus carnes, et comedatis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃11 ואל העם תאמר התקדשו למחר ואכלתם בשר כי בכיתם באזני יהוה לאמר מי יאכלנו בשר כי טוב לנו במצרים ונתן יהוה לכם בשר ואכלתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 19

Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;

- Vous en mangerez non pas un jour, ni deux jours, ni cinq jours, ni dix jours, ni vingt jours, (Ⅱ)

- οὐχ ἡμέραν μίαν φάγεσθε οὐδὲ δύο οὐδὲ πέντε ἡμέρας οὐδὲ δέκα ἡμέρας οὐδὲ εἴκοσι ἡμέρας (Ⅲ)

- non uno die, nec duobus, vel quinque aut decem, nec viginti quidem, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃11 לא יום אחד תאכלון ולא יומים ולא חמשה ימים ולא עשרה ימים ולא עשרים יום ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 20

But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?

- mais un mois entier, jusqu'à ce qu'elle vous sorte par les narines et que vous en ayez du dégoût, parce que vous avez rejeté l'Éternel qui est au milieu de vous, et parce que vous avez pleuré devant lui, en disant: Pourquoi donc sommes-nous sortis d'Égypte? (Ⅱ)

- ἕως μηνὸς ἡμερω̃ν φάγεσθε ἕως ἂν ἐξέλθη̨ ἐκ τω̃ν μυκτήρων ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἔσται ὑμι̃ν εἰς χολέραν ὅτι ἠπειθήσατε κυρίω̨ ὅς ἐστιν ἐν ὑμι̃ν καὶ ἐκλαύσατε ἐναντίον αὐτου̃ λέγοντες ἵνα τί ἡμι̃ν ἐξελθει̃ν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- sed usque ad mensem dierum, donec exeat per nares vestras, et vertatur in nauseam, eo quod repuleritis Dominum, qui in medio vestri est, et fleveritis coram eo, dicentes : Quare egressi sumus ex Ægypto ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃11 עד חדש ימים עד אשר יצא מאפכם והיה לכם לזרא יען כי מאסתם את יהוה אשר בקרבכם ותבכו לפניו לאמר למה זה יצאנו ממצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 21

And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.

- Moïse dit: Six cent mille hommes de pied forment le peuple au milieu duquel je suis, et tu dis: Je leur donnerai de la viande, et ils en mangeront un mois entier! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Μωυση̃ς ἑξακόσιαι χιλιάδες πεζω̃ν ὁ λαός ἐν οἱ̃ς εἰμι ἐν αὐτοι̃ς καὶ σὺ εἰ̃πας κρέα δώσω αὐτοι̃ς φαγει̃ν καὶ φάγονται μη̃να ἡμερω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et ait Moyses : Sexcenta millia peditum hujus populi sunt : et tu dicis : Dabo eis esum carnium mense integro ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃11 ויאמר משה שש מאות אלף רגלי העם אשר אנכי בקרבו ואתה אמרת בשר אתן להם ואכלו חדש ימים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 22

Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?

- Égorgera-t-on pour eux des brebis et des boeufs, en sorte qu'ils en aient assez? ou rassemblera-t-on pour eux tous les poissons de la mer, en sorte qu'ils en aient assez? (Ⅱ)

- μὴ πρόβατα καὶ βόες σφαγήσονται αὐτοι̃ς καὶ ἀρκέσει αὐτοι̃ς ἢ πα̃ν τὸ ὄψος τη̃ς θαλάσσης συναχθήσεται αὐτοι̃ς καὶ ἀρκέσει αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- numquid ovium et boum multitudo cædetur, ut possit sufficere ad cibum ? vel omnes pisces maris in unum congregabuntur, ut eos satient ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃11 הצאן ובקר ישחט להם ומצא להם אם את כל דגי הים יאסף להם ומצא להם פ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 23

And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD's hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

- L'Éternel répondit à Moïse: La main de l'Éternel serait-elle trop courte? Tu verras maintenant si ce que je t'ai dit arrivera ou non. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυση̃ν μὴ χεὶρ κυρίου οὐκ ἐξαρκέσει ἤδη γνώσει εἰ ἐπικαταλήμψεταί σε ὁ λόγος μου ἢ οὔ (Ⅲ)

- Cui respondit Dominus : Numquid manus Domini invalida est ? jam nunc videbis utrum meus sermo opere compleatur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃11 ויאמר יהוה אל משה היד יהוה תקצר עתה תראה היקרך דברי אם לא ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 24

And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.

- Moïse sortit, et rapporta au peuple les paroles de l'Éternel. Il assembla soixante-dix hommes des anciens du peuple, et les plaça autour de la tente. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν Μωυση̃ς καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς τὸν λαὸν τὰ ῥήματα κυρίου καὶ συνήγαγεν ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας ἀπὸ τω̃ν πρεσβυτέρων του̃ λαου̃ καὶ ἔστησεν αὐτοὺς κύκλω̨ τη̃ς σκηνη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Venit igitur Moyses, et narravit populo verba Domini, congregans septuaginta viros de senibus Israël, quos stare fecit circa tabernaculum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃11 ויצא משה וידבר אל העם את דברי יהוה ויאסף שבעים איש מזקני העם ויעמד אתם סביבת האהל ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 25

And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

- L'Éternel descendit dans la nuée, et parla à Moïse; il prit de l'esprit qui était sur lui, et le mit sur les soixante-dix anciens. Et dès que l'esprit reposa sur eux, ils prophétisèrent; mais ils ne continuèrent pas. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέβη κύριος ἐν νεφέλη̨ καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ παρείλατο ἀπὸ του̃ πνεύματος του̃ ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ καὶ ἐπέθηκεν ἐπὶ τοὺς ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους ὡς δὲ ἐπανεπαύσατο τὸ πνευ̃μα ἐπ' αὐτούς καὶ ἐπροφήτευσαν καὶ οὐκέτι προσέθεντο (Ⅲ)

- Descenditque Dominus per nubem, et locutus est ad eum, auferens de spiritu qui erat in Moyse, et dans septuaginta viris. Cumque requievisset in eis spiritus, prophetaverunt, nec ultra cessaverunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃11 וירד יהוה בענן וידבר אליו ויאצל מן הרוח אשר עליו ויתן על שבעים איש הזקנים ויהי כנוח עליהם הרוח ויתנבאו ולא יספו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 26

But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.

- Il y eut deux hommes, l'un appelé Eldad, et l'autre Médad, qui étaient restés dans le camp, et sur lesquels l'esprit reposa; car ils étaient parmi les inscrits, quoiqu'ils ne fussent point allés à la tente; et ils prophétisèrent dans le camp. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατελείφθησαν δύο ἄνδρες ἐν τη̨̃ παρεμβολη̨̃ ὄνομα τω̨̃ ἑνὶ Ελδαδ καὶ ὄνομα τω̨̃ δευτέρω̨ Μωδαδ καὶ ἐπανεπαύσατο ἐπ' αὐτοὺς τὸ πνευ̃μα καὶ οὑ̃τοι ἠ̃σαν τω̃ν καταγεγραμμένων καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃λθον πρὸς τὴν σκηνήν καὶ ἐπροφήτευσαν ἐν τη̨̃ παρεμβολη̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Remanserat autem in castris duo viri, quorum unus vocabatur Eldad, et alter Medad, super quos requievit spiritus. Nam et ipsi descripti fuerant, et non exierant ad tabernaculum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃11 וישארו שני אנשים במחנה שם האחד אלדד ושם השני מידד ותנח עליהם הרוח והמה בכתבים ולא יצאו האהלה ויתנבאו במחנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 27

And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.

- Un jeune garçon courut l'annoncer à Moïse, et dit: Eldad et Médad prophétisent dans le camp. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ προσδραμὼν ὁ νεανίσκος ἀπήγγειλεν Μωυση̨̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν λέγων Ελδαδ καὶ Μωδαδ προφητεύουσιν ἐν τη̨̃ παρεμβολη̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque prophetarent in castris, cucurrit puer, et nuntiavit Moysi, dicens : Eldad et Medad prophetant in castris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃11 וירץ הנער ויגד למשה ויאמר אלדד ומידד מתנבאים במחנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 28

And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.

- Et Josué, fils de Nun, serviteur de Moïse depuis sa jeunesse, prit la parole et dit: Moïse, mon seigneur, empêche-les! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς 'Ιησου̃ς ὁ του̃ Ναυη ὁ παρεστηκὼς Μωυση̨̃ ὁ ἐκελεκτὸς εἰ̃πεν κύριε Μωυση̃ κώλυσον αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Statim Josue filius Nun, minister Moysi, et electus e pluribus, ait : Domine mi Moyses, prohibe eos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃11 ויען יהושע בן נון משרת משה מבחריו ויאמר אדני משה כלאם ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 29

And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

- Moïse lui répondit: Es-tu jaloux pour moi? Puisse tout le peuple de l'Éternel être composé de prophètes; et veuille l'Éternel mettre son esprit sur eux! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ Μωυση̃ς μὴ ζηλοι̃ς σύ μοι καὶ τίς δώ̨η πάντα τὸν λαὸν κυρίου προφήτας ὅταν δω̨̃ κύριος τὸ πνευ̃μα αὐτου̃ ἐπ' αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- At ille : Quid, inquit æmularis pro me ? quis tribuat ut omnis populus prophetet, et det eis Dominus spiritum suum ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃11 ויאמר לו משה המקנא אתה לי ומי יתן כל עם יהוה נביאים כי יתן יהוה את רוחו עליהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 30

And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

- Et Moïse se retira au camp, lui et les anciens d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν Μωυση̃ς εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Reversusque est Moyses, et majores natu Israël in castra.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃11 ויאסף משה אל המחנה הוא וזקני ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 31

And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.

- L'Éternel fit souffler de la mer un vent, qui amena des cailles, et les répandit sur le camp, environ une journée de chemin d'un côté et environ une journée de chemin de l'autre côté, autour du camp. Il y en avait près de deux coudées au-dessus de la surface de la terre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πνευ̃μα ἐξη̃λθεν παρὰ κυρίου καὶ ἐξεπέρασεν ὀρτυγομήτραν ἀπὸ τη̃ς θαλάσσης καὶ ἐπέβαλεν ἐπὶ τὴν παρεμβολὴν ὁδὸν ἡμέρας ἐντευ̃θεν καὶ ὁδὸν ἡμέρας ἐντευ̃θεν κύκλω̨ τη̃ς παρεμβολη̃ς ὡσεὶ δίπηχυ ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Ventus autem egrediens a Domino, arreptans trans mare coturnices detulit, et demisit in castra itinere quantum uno die confici potest, ex omni parte castrorum per circuitum, volabantque in aëre duobus cubitis altitudine super terram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃11 ורוח נסע מאת יהוה ויגז שלוים מן הים ויטש על המחנה כדרך יום כה וכדרך יום כה סביבות המחנה וכאמתים על פני הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 32

And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

- Pendant tout ce jour et toute la nuit, et pendant toute la journée du lendemain, le peuple se leva et ramassa les cailles; celui qui en avait ramassé le moins en avait dix homers. Ils les étendirent pour eux autour du camp. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀναστὰς ὁ λαὸς ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν καὶ ὅλην τὴν νύκτα καὶ ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν τὴν ἐπαύριον καὶ συνήγαγον τὴν ὀρτυγομήτραν ὁ τὸ ὀλίγον συνήγαγεν δέκα κόρους καὶ ἔψυξαν ἑαυτοι̃ς ψυγμοὺς κύκλω̨ τη̃ς παρεμβολη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Surgens ergo populus toto die illo, et nocte, ac die altero, congregavit coturnicum : qui parum, decem coros : et siccaverunt eas per gyrum castrorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃11 ויקם העם כל היום ההוא וכל הלילה וכל יום המחרת ויאספו את השלו הממעיט אסף עשרה חמרים וישטחו להם שטוח סביבות המחנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 33

And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.

- Comme la chair était encore entre leurs dents sans être mâchée, la colère de l'Éternel s'enflamma contre le peuple, et l'Éternel frappa le peuple d'une très grande plaie. (Ⅱ)

- τὰ κρέα ἔτι ἠ̃ν ἐν τοι̃ς ὀδου̃σιν αὐτω̃ν πρὶν ἢ ἐκλείπειν καὶ κύριος ἐθυμώθη εἰς τὸν λαόν καὶ ἐπάταξεν κύριος τὸν λαὸν πληγὴν μεγάλην σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- Adhuc carnes erant in dentibus eorum, nec defecerat hujuscemodi cibus : et ecce furor Domini concitatus in populum, percussit eum plaga magna nimis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃11 הבשר עודנו בין שניהם טרם יכרת ואף יהוה חרה בעם ויך יהוה בעם מכה רבה מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 34

And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

- On donna à ce lieu le nom de Kibroth Hattaava, parce qu'on y enterra le peuple que la convoitise avait saisi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα του̃ τόπου ἐκείνου μνήματα τη̃ς ἐπιθυμίας ὅτι ἐκει̃ ἔθαψαν τὸν λαὸν τὸν ἐπιθυμητήν (Ⅲ)

- Vocatusque est ille locus, Sepulchra concupiscentiæ : ibi enim sepelierunt populum qui desideraverat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃11 ויקרא את שם המקום ההוא קברות התאוה כי שם קברו את העם המתאוים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 35

And the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.

- De Kibroth Hattaava le peuple partit pour Hatséroth, et il s'arrêta à Hatséroth. (Ⅱ)

- ἀπὸ μνημάτων ἐπιθυμίας ἐξη̃ρεν ὁ λαὸς εἰς Ασηρωθ καὶ ἐγένετο ὁ λαὸς ἐν Ασηρωθ (Ⅲ)

- Egressi autem de Sepulchris concupiscentiæ, venerunt in Haseroth, et manserunt ibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃11 מקברות התאוה נסעו העם חצרות ויהיו בחצרות פ‬ (Ⅴ)
